Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Everyone tells me to try Moon River and I've been trying for months. On a whim, my plans got canceled last night and the kids requested pizza. This is where we went. (2 adults, 2 children) Parking is horrendous; however, I was fortunate enough to find a spot after several of the other businesses closed. I can see how miserable it would be on a busy day though. The environment walking in was insanely laid back and very casual. It's complete with brightly colored walls, a functioning disco ball and 70's decade music. Very helpful, younger looking employees. Also seemed appropriately staffed with no 'Help Wanted' signs. Menu is on a large board to the immediate right with several options; pizzas coming in large, medium and slice options. There were also vegetarian options, calzones and salads. Beer and fountain drinks available. My children gravitated to the T-Rex pizza due to its name alone. An all meat, extra cheese pizza. Also had a half garden salad to share. The salad wasn't anything great- typical rabbit food but it was freshly cut if nothing else. The pizza looked like it was covered in sandwich ham, 6 pepperonis and cheese. 6 slices to a medium and while the slices were huge, I didn't know where the meat was. For something that sounded so carnivorous, it wasn't. There was a magnanimous amount of cheese on the pizza which really made it salty. The crust was thin, crispy and incredibly flavorful. All that said, this was on par for good pizza. I'm praying the lack of meat under the layer of cheese was due to an off night. Also able to try a bite of white- excellent. Also visited the bathroom for handwashing. Restroom was kept very clean with no exposed cleaning products or lack of paper products. Single person restroom. All in all, 5/5 stars for staff friendliness and helpfulness. Food was better than most run of the mill pizza joints in Jacksonville. Restaurant and restrooms were clean with no obvious health violations in sight. Family friendly and extremely laid back. We'll see if the pizza is still good in the morning. ;)

A hipster haven in Jacksonville! On a recent work trip, I found myself being sent from fried fish camp to fried fish camp and I had had enough. I found this place (on Yelp) when looking for pizza. The food was excellent, the staff was friendly and you cannot beat half price beers on Wednesday. I had a hard time deciding on what to order. I got a small salad, two special slices and the killer whale cream ale. It was so nice to eat somewhere that I could tell they took care with their ingredients and loved what they were making. The crowd was diverse with young and old, small families, large groups and couples. Everyone seemed to be happy to be there. I know I was!
(4)Chuck L.
5 Stars no doubt the best pizza in town !!! What I love most is you can order by the slice or whole pie, calzones, salads... Tge Gorgonzola salad is off the chain !!! The T Rex pizza (Meat Lovers) has the best flavor and mix of cheese and meats
(5)Cheryl S.
We had a joyous and wonderful evening at Moon River. You can eat at your own pace the food is incredible and the staff is professional and personal. The prices are moderate. Go a try it and I promise you will love it!!!!!!!
(5)Joe K.
Oh my god Becky look at her pizza! It's just so round and filled with toppings. I love Moon River and have eaten a different item on the menu each time. Last night we had the Special and of course it was delicious. The staff is always friendly and the customers are happy. Next time I'm going to try the calzone with spinach.
(4)Mike K.
Been going here for a long while now. Always awesome people and the pizza is always consistent. I say that because I'm sure you've been to places that are hit and miss. Dinning in is lovely and to go is fast and easy. Personally LOVE the white pizza with tomatoes and of course bread sticks which come with a little dipping sauce. Greek salad fantastic too. Always a good choice for yummy dinner.
(4)Leah A.
I really love this quirky little neighborhood pizza place. I've eaten here a couple of times and had their specialty pizzas. The atmosphere is unpretentious & the pizza and salads I've had were pretty simple, but tasty. My favorites: 1) The White topped with mozzarella, feta & parmesan cheese, extra virgin olive oil, oregano, black pepper and fresh garlic 2) The Vegetarian loaded with fresh roma tomatoes, onions, green peppers, mushrooms. Then topped with green & black olives, mozzarella and garlic I'm a huge garlic fan and you really can't go wrong with my faves. Overall, this is a solid place to eat that uses fresh ingredients and caters to people with all kinds of diet restrictions. The prices are decent and the food is consistent. And a place that actually uses fresh garlic opposed to the jarred kind gets them an extra star. :)
(4)Oscar A.
It's Vegan friendly and the pizza is great. Go for Gluten free pizza, tempeh and fresh garlic. Atmosphere is on the hipster side. Great local gem.
(4)Debbie L.
Moon River has ok pizza. I find most northerners love it. We often get it for lunch because its convenient to work. The restaurant is clean and staff is helpful. It's worth a checkout if you love Pizza.
(3)Caleb L.
The best place I know of in Jax to get a wide variety of pizza by the slice. Fresh ingredients and great flavor. Good for lunch though there may be a line. It has a strong hipster vibe but service is quick and professional.
(4)Meanole M.
Oh Moon River how I love you. I love your pizza and calzones. I love the atmosphere and the service. Sometimes there is a line and a wait but that's OK. Have been coming here for a couple years and am never disappointed.
(5)Delaina H.
The food is ok. I got the calzone and the marinara sauce tasted like aluminum. It tasted like it came from a can. When we finally got through the long line to order the girl just looked at me and said- Ya? ... Customer service not their strong point.
(3)Carly R.
Went to Moon River on a whim while visiting friends in Jacksonville. Almost went to Carmine's but chose Moon River because it was slightly cheaper with slightly better reviews on Google. Being from Gainesville, I'm used to quirky restaurants; they're plentiful here. Moon River was the perfect amount of quirk and made me feel right at home. Plus, the staff was super friendly, from the wait staff to the pizza chefs, and they came around regularly to check on our drinks. Instead of being waited on at a table, you order at a counter and then pick a seat while the pizza is made. The wait staff then delivers the pizza to your table. The dining area was large with lots of tables; we didn't have to wait to find a seat, even on a busy Saturday night after the FL/GA football game. My fiance and I split a medium white pizza. I'm not kidding; this was THE best white pizza I have ever had in my life (and I've had a lot of white pizza). The combination of oil and spices was superb. I really wanted to eat the whole thing, but the medium was more than enough for us. Usually leftovers aren't as good the next day, but by some sort of moon magic, my leftovers were damn near perfect the next day. (Pop in the microwave for 1 minute, bake in the toaster oven for 5 minutes, then broil in the toaster oven for 5 minutes = perfection.) Anyway, this place is great, and I really wish they would open a store in Gainesville. It's better than any pizza I've had in my own city and the culture/vibe of the place would fit in perfectly here. I would definitely return if I'm ever in the area again.
(5)James B.
Moon River Pizza is so good! Staff is really friendly and it's an all around good atmosphere with great food. They have a good beer selection too. I just had a half bacon and cheese pizza with my 9 year old, she loves it here. Beats spots in New York State with one hand tied behind its back.
(5)Tim L.
Really good pizza. Period. That's really not all there is to say about this gem of a pizzaria on the outskirts of riverside. It's really cool that you can buy by the slice, and it is fresh made to your order - no stale pizza waiting to be rescued and eaten! The crust was crunchy outside, fluffy inside - all ingredients tasty on mine (T-Rex meat lover pizza). My wife had the The Pizza and my aunt the Special and both had good things to say. Great atmosphere and helpful staff. Can't wait to go back!!
(5)Andrea A.
I'm mad that I forgot to take a picture, I ate the pizza too fast. I had white pizza with tomatoes and pepperoni as toppings. Very tasty pizza, I just prefer thinner pizza. This location has a really cool look and it's great for groups.
(4)CB D.
Always delicious, just as good for leftovers!! Often crowded.. I do find it off-putting, that I cannot grab a table, while my spouse or friends are en route; or so I understood the signage to imply; but the art, music, food, service and the overall atmosphere is always pleasing! Go early ;-)
(4)Samantha M.
Moon river pizza is the place to go for a delicious slice and a good beer. I have been here several times and have nothing but good things to say about it. The pizza is hot and the ingredients are fresh. It's quite affordable and, unlike the Mellow Mushroom in the area, you can order a slice anytime. I just love this option. My favorite has to be the Maui wowie pizza-the veggie pie is my number two go-to when I need to satisfy that pizza craving. The wait staff is always friendly and cool and they have a few TVs which definitely offers an incentive to go when a game is on. The atmosphere is casual and laid back, it feels very comfortable inside. This place has a lot of good things going for it, and I have heard great things about the calzones, although I have not gotten around to trying them, yet. Moon River is a great casual lunch or dinner spot and is definitely worth a visit.
(4)Jeffro D.
After waiting 30 minutes in line just to place our order we finally sat down and waited another 20 minutes before our pizza arrived only to be disappointed the pizza was all rock hard dough. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about, they must not have any other pizza restaurants in the area.
(1)Richard G.
Awesome dough, plenty of cheese and toppings. It was amazing. If you go for lunch here's a tip..... call ahead! I had a calzone with pepperoni, sausage and beef. (I know, heart attack on a plate ) but, it was totally worth it!
(5)David M.
Awesome people, great atmosphere. Music rocks. And the beer selection is good. Great place to preparty.
(5)Diane A.
$20.00 for two people, what a steal and great tasting pizza!! Hubby and I went after we got off work and beat the dinner rush. There are street parking spot available if you beat the rush. We started with the Gorgonzola half salad and pesto stix for appetizers, We didn't expect the order of pesto stix to be that generous, we didn't even eat half of it bec we needed to save room for our slice pizzas. I got two (2) white slices and hubby got a white & "the pizza." They were sooo good, flavorful!! The crust of the pizza was soo good...it wasn't dry and usually I don't eat crusts but I sure did with these slices. The interior of the building is very clean and has some nice decorated touches. Love the open feel and great service too of the staff. If I lived closer, I'd be here often.
(5)Jamie W.
This is a monthly, if not weekly, spot for our family and friends. The pizza is made to order and their selections are plentiful. Hubby loves the T-Rex which is a meat-lovers dream as it comes with ham, bacon, sausage, pepperoni, and covered in cheese. I prefer the white pizza with an addition of spinach and sometimes artichokes. The slices are large and so tasty. The calzones are huge, definitely big enough to share if you have a smaller appetite. They have a selection of salads as well, and I love the Greek salad and the fact that you can get "half-salads" so you have room for your pizza slice. They have frequent half off beer and wine nights as well. Staff is friendly, considerate and are always stopping by he table to make sure things are okay.
(4)Lora H.
Moon River has really good pizza. They are just around the corner from us and they are easy for a last minute dinner idea, at least if we are willing to do take out. They are super busy all of the time it seems, and many times there is a line that is almost out the door, or even out the door sometimes. Their white pizza I think is the best I have ever had and the best part is that you can buy their pizza by the slice, which makes it good for families. If you are looking for gluten free options, their GF crust is really delicious as well. I think it is worth it to come and visit, but just be prepared to wait because of the crowds.
(4)Rachel P.
Have been to moon river a few times before. Always happy with my experience. Today I got my usual slice of "the special" and decided to try the Greek salad as well. I'm glad I got the small portion as it was still more than I could finish. Love the vibe in this place always some awesome music playing and just in general a very relaxed environment. Although I live on the Southside this is one place I will drive to during rush hour to satisfy my pizza craving.
(5)April P.
Everyone should dine here. Pleasant environment. Wonderful food. If you have the chance go here you will not be disappointed
(5)Kathleen P.
Love Moon River Pizza! I've been here two or three times and loved it each time!! Love the white pizza with mushrooms. Their garden salad is yummy as well. I highly recommend their lunch special of 2 slices and a drink!
(5)Brian C.
Lunch 8/28 Good place to get a non-chain local pizza. Kinda reminded me of Mellow Mushroom in appearance, staff and pizza taste. Pizza was made fresh and the cheese was real good, pepperoni's were tasty, but I am not a big fan or sliced sausage links on pizza. Really liked the side salad that had real thick shredded mozzarella cheese on it. What was really good about Moon River was that you have the option to buy by the slice! Which was great for my group as 3 people all wanted different toppings and Moon River lets you customize each slice! Parking is tough and at lunch it gets super duper busy!
(3)Leslie B.
Finally tried moon river pizza and really liked it. The crust was really good, kind of reminded me of mellow mushrooms. The sauce was great too and the slices were huge! Lots of cheese (which I love) and piled high with toppings! And you can't beat the prices. You order at the counter and they bring you the food but two girls kept checking on our table the entire night and brought us a second round of beers. Everyone that worked there was really friendly! Can't wait to go back!!
(4)Andrew C.
Reading alot of reviews about how awesome this place is??? The place looks cool on the inside and has a good choice of beers BUT there pizza is less then mediocre..The crust is chewy and the pizza sauce is somewhat flavorless..Almost reminded me of school pizza if it were square and lm not even being harsh. If you really enjoy true good tasting pizza and have even somewhat of a palate then DONT waste your time eating here, you will be dissapointed. Gave it 2 stars because it's edible and place seemed clean.
(2)Mark B.
I have to say that the moon river pizza place was alright. Nothing great but alright. I'm working like across the street so I see their food everyday. I salad here, a slice there and it got me hungry the other day. So I traveled across the street you know I have to keep up the fat kid image. I really was hungry that day. I ordered the calzone with a bunch of meats shoved into it. That just what I got and nicely cooked crust. Crispy on the outside and just done on the inside. There was plenty of filling to go along with that crust. I did enjoy my meal and will eat there again. Remember I'm working across the street.
(4)Britnie J.
This is by far my favorite pizza place in Jax. I always get a slice of cheese and a slice Maui wowee with jalapeños and a half house salad. Fanfreakingtastic! My only complaint is the wait time from when you get to order and sit down. Other than that the food is great and the service is always super friendly.
(4)Suz G.
Very popular spot in Murray Hill, and the pizza was hot and delicious. The clientele um...a little rough around the edges, and we sat in a booth next to a group that was loud and rude (burping, etc). I'll order takeout next time.
(3)Carl T.
I hadn't expected to find such devastating pizza in Jax (I had a slice of the Special). Salad was crisp and fresh. I would have liked a choice of salad dressing, but the Italian (I think it was) is OK, I guess. Yes, parking can be a pain, but the pizza is worth it. Super friendly wait-staff.
(5)Iris B.
I was really impressed by the pizza at moon river, and even more impressed by the speed at which we received our food. I ordered a slice of pepperoni and "the pizza". Both were delicious. I appreciated that the crust was crunchy, which in my opinion, is a very important texture asset to a good pizza. I loved that the garlic was very pungent in my slice of "the pizza"! I was expecting a hint of garlic and not a whole flavorful mouthful. I will practically eat garlic raw so I was so happy to have it so present. The cheese portion on my slices were a welcomed addition to the taste party that was going on in my mouth. Nothing makes me happier. Cheese, garlic, a bumper sticker that says homeslice! (my favorite pizza place back home in Austin) If I lived in the neighborhood I would surely weigh 500 lbs because of frequent visits to this place. I am already looking forward to making the trek across town again, possibly, tomorrow!
(5)Michael J.
Best pizza in Jacksonville! Closest to New York style pizza you will ever get in Jax. I haven't had a bad slice from this place ever. I really like the white pizza they use feta instead of ricotta cheese so it's much better. Staff is always friendly as well
(5)Lisa S.
Moon River is definitely my favorite pizza place in Jacksonville. The crust, sauce and cheese are abolutely perfect and the high quality toppings make it definitely worth the drive across town. The calzones are delicious and the salads are full of fresh goodness.
(5)Whitney A.
This place has the best pizza in Jax hands down! Whenever I want a pizza this is the place I get it from. I haven't ate inside yet I usually order it to go which is wise since it does get pretty packed out. Parking even for take out can be a hassle but it's well worth it.
(5)Anthony Z.
So the place is buzzing with activity every time I go, I was invited by a close friend and have brought others back twice since then. Check it out! The staff is friendly , atmosphere is upbeat with some music in the background. They got a 2 slice and a drink special that is perfect for the price, nice big slices. 2 whole pies and a few soda pops will put you back 40 bucks so it would be better to have a 2fer special but hey I like my money as much as I like pizza. check Moon River out great service, food, and atmosphere.
(4)Jordan G.
Best pizza in jax, hands down. The white pizza is nothing short of a religious experience and the music and art are always on point. Small but very good beer selection too.
(5)G M.
Moon River pizza has good pizza, good beer, nice folks, and is located in a kinda cool neighborhood. Overall a nice dining experience. We dinned mid-evening on a Thursday night. The restaurant was about 3/4 full but still the noise level was good. You order at the counter then they bring the food to you. The pizza selection was good and they did have several craft brews to choose from including a local option or two. Most of the employees have ink which kind adds to the local flair. The pizza was very good for a pizza oven but not quite up to a wood fired taste. The restroom was clean as well. Overall we enjoyed our visit.
(4)Amy W.
We love this pizza joint! We've been coming here for over 7 years. I would have to say that they are one of the best pizza place in Jacksonville. You can order by the slice orca whole pizza. They have a few salad to choice from. Service is awesome too.
(5)Jamie D.
To be clear, by stating that this is good pizza, it's good pizza by Jacksonville standards. I live in New York City and left Jax a few years ago, but do return frequently for family visits. We have been coming here for quite a while and it's always a good visit and a good pizza. The ingredients are fresh and the staff is friendly and helpful. If I had one complaint I with they would cook the pizza just a bit more. I'm getting used to a bit crunchier crust and more "done" or browned cheese and toppings. The gorgonzola salad is always quite good. I'll continue coming to Moon River, despite being spoiled in New York City!
(4)Ron M.
This spot is right up there with Brewer's Pizza. While the beer selection is not as good and the vibe is much more hipster, the food is ON POINT. I had a racer 5 IPA from Bear Republic which sadly, was old and did not taste as it should. I had a calzone with sausage, pepperoni and black olives and it was amazing. The crust of the calzone was perfect and the ingredients inside were cooked to perfection. I knocked a star because the interior design (mainly the paint job) is pretty lame, old beer and it is pretty busy in this place with a slow moving line.
(4)Jim H.
Nice local beers on tap. The atmosphere of the place is definitely hip and laid back, Very casual and friendly environment. The only thing we have eaten here is pizza, to include the gluten free White Pizza and of course the regular full of gluten pizza. The regular pizzas are very good, which I'm sure is the "go to" pizza for the pizza, but their gluten free pizzas are thin crust and are quite tasty. I do not have a gluten issue, except for the pounds it creates, but eating gluten free is nothing to shy away from. Try it here and you will find it very tasty. I do want to try other items on the menu but when we go here it is usually take out as we want something quick and easy that also pleases the kids.
(4)Mark C.
The best pizza ever! The salads are boss. Great beer selection and some wines. The staff should all win a Noble Peace prize. They are the best!!!!!! I love Moon River!!!!!!
(5)Candace M.
Yum! Pizza is great here. I'm an Italian from NY and love my pizza. Just moved to Jacksonville and am so happy that yelp has led me to Moon River pizza. I had the white pizza. Soooo good. I was savoring my last bites hoping my lunch would never end. This place is very cool inside. Lots of art and good music playing. Great atmosphere. Seems like they have several good beers on tap. Prices are very reasonable. I believe my lunch special (2 slices and a drink) was about $6. I've bookmarked this pizza joint as a favorite and will surely be back.
(5)Amber N.
Best pizza we have had in a while. The place was totally busy, line out the door. But the service was amazing. Definitely will be back!!!
(5)Karin D.
Went for a quick lunch. Spent 5 bucks and had a great slice of pizza and a drink. The staff is very friendly and the pizza was great. I can't wait to go back and try other things there.
(5)Robin K.
I went here for lunch with a friend and got a salad and onion rings. The restaurant was busy. We ordered and had to wait 10 minutes for a booth. The meal was delicious and affordable. I would return again.
(4)Joel David R.
I went to this place for dinner. I was not impressed by the food which was average but easy over priced for what I received. I ran out of tea before my food arrived and was treated rudely when I ask for more. I was treated by the wait staff like they didn't want or even care for my business. I would not recommend eating here, go to the grocery store and get a frozen pizza it will be just as good.
(1)Whitney A.
A friend of mine has told me about this place many times do I tried it last night. I loved it! We ordered the large "special". Finding a pizza place that has very similar pizza to the pizza place back home is great. I also ordered a greek salad which was really good as well. This place is now my go to place for pizza!
(5)James D.
Ate there several months ago the interior was clean but old the food was not as good as what we expected and the wait staff was rude never brought out a box so we left the uneaten pizza there but doubt the dog would have eaten it anyways.
(1)Brandi H.
Great food, great service, and they have beer. Every time I go this place is packed and the food is fresh. Love their pizza and cheesy breadsticks, plus the staff is always super laid back and friendly, definitely a college atmosphere.
(5)PS T.
W.O.W. Simply delicious!! It had been at least a few years since my wife and I had last ate here - but no more!! We will make special trips from Middleburg to come back here. We had the White Pizza and tried their T-Rex pizza for the first time - OMG loved it!! I already knew I loved their White Pizza but their T-Rex pizza had so much flavors, I could not decide which one I love more!! We also got their cheese bread that was so much better than expected. One more thing, definitely ask for their fresh garlic (free) whenever you get one of their pizzas - except for the White Pizza (you won't need extra garlic on that)!! Moon River is back to being our fav pizza place!!
(5)Olivia G.
Again, I don't take pictures of my food. And I am only writing a review if I love the place, and Moon River has the best pizza in town. I get a slice of "The White" with eggplant and bacon (seriously fried eggplant on pizza is just amazing) and a half greek salad, because I can't eat the whole salad, their salads are huge! I also like their small wine selection. Great place, awesome people, never disappoints!
(5)Clifton J.
Im from Arizona and found some good reviews for Moon River online. I had no clue what to expect, and was happily taken back by their laid back approach, happy attitude, and quirky styles. The pizza was amazing and ive made it a must stop every time i come through Jacksonville. Im a huge fan of the "T-Rex" (meat lovers).
(5)Bill K.
Great Artisan pizza with great Craft Beers, what more does one need on an NCAA March Madness playoff night?
(5)a d.
Went for lunch for the first time. Usually go on the weekend nights. Calzone as always best in Jax. Fresh ingredients, ricotta and mozzarella. Today we had the breaded eggplant in one and spinach/black olive in the other. Love the marinara. Staff was great and always friendly. Affordable and local. We love Moon River.
(5)Damian R.
My mom and i came in and got a Maui "wow" ee and this is our second time here. First time we had the t-rex. We are new to Florida, about 3 weeks now, but this place is excellent and the staff is incredible!!!
(5)David B.
Since I prefer thin-crust pizza, I cannot rave about Moon River, but the pizza is good and the large slices are an excellent value. Unfortunately, I thought the mozzarella cheese slathered all over the top was bland. The other toppings are superb, The atmosphere is cheerfully busy. Most important, they have several local craft beers on tap. Though I prefer thin-crust pizza, I must admit that I like this place and will pop in again sometime for a slice and a beer!
(3)Amanda T.
I live in Murray Hill now so this is one of my spots now. The food is cheap and the atmosphere is very eclectic. They're menu is great the only thing that's really hold me back from one more star is the crust. I've never been blown away by the place and I couldn't put my finger on it. I thought about it more today and that's it. However, other people rave about this place so maybe it's just my taste buds? Honorable Mentions is their white pizza. The toppings are fresh and yummy and they also offer gluten free options as well as vegan.
(3)Jason C.
Nice local place. Need to try it. Be prepared for the menu. Salads, pizza and calzones. Try it with the creamy ale beer.
(4)Oly C.
This is one of our favorite places. We drive through two neighborhoods and past about ten pizza places just for Moon River. The staff is great, salads are huge, the pizza is the best around. I love their vinaigrette dressing, pesto sticks, veggie pizza, all my friends swear by the T Rex (meatzza!)
(5)Samantha K.
Originally from NY so in terms of pizza reviews I'm sure I'm a bit biased and have very high expectations. That being said, 3 stars for the super fresh toppings and fair price for a large pie. But, the crust was not crispy enough and the pie seemed a bit undercooked--no golden brown color at all on edges so it was too soft for my taste. Will definitely try again though--i have high hopes for this place!

Love this place!! Best calzones and pizza (The PIZZA) in town...Wife loves 2 for 1 beer and wine on Weds and I love everything else about this.....and so does she.....Do not hesitate to get in the doors...One down side it can be very busy right after woork and your standing in line and waiting for tables....but be patient..."PATIENCE IS MAN'S BEST VIRTUE!"
(5)Brittany K.
My all time favorite is the white pizza but I've never been disappointed by anything here.
(5)Liza M.
The best pizza in town. Always fresh ingredients and great service. Well worth the 30 minute wait in line. Not a lot know about this place. Kinda word of mouth. Nothin but great things.
(5)Erica N.
The best pizza place in Jax, hands down. I love how you can buy pizza by the slice. They are very generous with toppings and have some great vegetarian options. They have a nice selection of hot sauces and herbs to add some kick to your pie. Staff are friendly and efficient. We order carry out all the time and the orders are always filled correctly.
(5)Zachariah D.
Hands down, THE BEST PIZZA IN JAX!!! Not only is the pizza fantastic, whether you get slices, a calzone, or a whole pie, but the atmosphere is awesome. The employees are always wonderful and happy to help, and they keep the restaurant very clean and inviting. They always have great beers on tap, and a selection of great wines. If you haven't eaten here yet, it's a MUST! They get pretty busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so if you want a more mellow or quiet dining experience, go Monday through Thursday. Also, they have daily specials worth checking out. They list them on their facebook page, so add them! facebook.com/moonriverpi… Oh, and try the Pesto Stix. They are to die for.
(5)Stephanie K.
Very live atmosphere and very friendly associates. The dough was deliciously fresh, however, I felt like something was missing in the sauce flavor. Overall, would eat there again.
(4)Anthony L.
Decent pizza for the price. On a few occasions it seemed that they rushed our pizza out of the oven. Raw dough, cold veggies, unmelted cheese, etc. The staff is friendly and attentive but it seems the seating area isn't cleaned quickly enough to turn tables. More staff and another oven would definitely make this a great place, but as it stands its only an option between lunch and dinner rushes.

Moon River is tucked away in a little strip by FSCJ Kent Campus. This is my little bro's favorite spot. He use to take his girly here hahah. Moon River has that neighborhood pizza hangout feel. The staff makes you feel at home, the place is pretty cozy, its always packed, the menu is written with chalk, and you just feel good when you come in. Wednesday is dollar beers and cheap wine day and for some reason I always end up here on wed and get the Narraganset $1 beer and whatever pizza i feel like getting. So the last time I came here I was with my friend Jonathan. We got out of class early and we started talking about pizza because I was watching that show on the Cooking Channel the other day called Pizza Cuz. The 1st thing that popped in my head was Pele's Wood Fire I love there Salumist PIzza (Pizzaiolo sauce, sopressata, Italian Sausage, pancetta, handpulled mozzerella, basil), but then I remembered Moon River. Jonathan has never been there and we were close by, so Moon River it is. We went with a half Trex Pizza( true meat lover's special. All of the meats, plus an extra helping of some mozzarella cheese) and half Maui Wowee (The Maui part of this pizza is loaded with ham, pineapple & cheddar cheese. The "WOW"EE portion is your choice of jalapeño peppers or banana peppers.). We got a good seat by the TV and a knicks game was on. Beer, Pizza, Basketball game...perf bro date lol. If you've never been, you should go and if you go, let it be a wednesday! Pics and stuff: natedoesfood.wordpress.c…

Best handmade pizza in Jax hands down! The place looks and feels amazing! Great vibe!
(5)Steve S.
This was a spot for okay pizza. I woudn't call it "best I've ever had", but I could probably call it "best pizza in Jacksonville". That's not a slight on the pie, it was good. I like a thin crust style, little sauce, you know, something fold-able. This wasn't quite that, but at the same time, a good eat. The beer selection was limited, but still full of good options. I'd stop by again, but after I tried a few other places.
(3)David F.
My wife and I went to eat an early dinner there on Saturday and were very impressed. They have an extensive pizza menu, with many toppings to choose from. They also have 3 or 4 salads to pick from, if you are eating well. My wife ordered a small garden salad and a slice of veggie pizza. She enjoyed that. I wanted to try one of their oversized calzones, so I ordered the sausage calzone. That thing was huge and came with a nice boat of marinara sauce! The sauce tasted perfect and the calzone was delicious. I was not drinking alcohol, but a nice local beer selection is available, as well as wines. Microbrew enthusiasts will enjoy the section on tap, and in the bottle.
(5)Amber A.
Had the pizza for lunch. Good cheese, flavorful thin crust, and really wonderfully seasoned sauce. Good price options. The salads looked good. Our order took a while but the staff was very attentive. At least ten "how are you doing" and "how is everything" stops from three different employees during the lunch rush. The eggplant that topped the pie was chewy and undercooked. One employee told me you can ask them to fry or extra cook it if you give them extra time.
(4)Bill K.
I must say this place has the best pizza in Jax. They don't necessarily have the best crust but it's pretty good. The toppings are really what make this place shine.I highly recommend any of the named pizzas on the wall when you walk in. The salads are great also and good for splitting. Great beer selection as well. I've been spoiled now that I live close to this place. The only time I look elsewhere for pizza is if Moon River is closed. I really wish they were open on Sundays and after 10 pm on weekends.
(5)Julio S.
Love this place. The fact that you can just get one or two slices is perfect. The pizza is good too.
(5)Jill E.
Went on a Tuesday and didn't have a hard time finding a table. THe booths are huge and enough room to comfortably seat 5. We had the greek salad, breadsticks and two pizzas. I liked the pizza crust and the toppings were fresh. The staff was great and explained everything to me when I ordered. More than one server checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed which I liked. We were well attended to by all. The price was reasonable and the atmosphere was cool.
(4)David B.
This is the best pizza ever made. Ever.
(5)Sylvia B.
I liked the chalk menu, make you feel like they change it around a lot. Lots of toppings to choose from but I had to go with the "The Special". I really liked the crust. We started with the cheese bread.
(5)James T.
Always great service... The food is always consistently great. Price and selection is amazing. You feel really appreciated here. I love bringing friends here for the first time, I've converted a lot of Al's pizza fans to Moon River fans. For folks with kids, ask for their slices to be kid cut to save time at the table. We pretty much always order slices, rarely do we get a whole pizza. Slices are cheap and filling. If you want something different - try a slice of white pizza. It's awesome. The salads are great. I order a half salad and it's a great comment to a single slice. The line gets pretty long during peak hours, at some point it would be cool if they bought a second register. It doesn't matter, the food is worth the wait. I try to get over there at least twice a month.
(5)Burnt O.
Pizza is the best your going to find ANYWHERE!!! ((I have been from Seattle to Chicago to Boston)) And the service has always been top notch. Friendly, inviting and ready to assist with refills or that take home box. Best day in Jacksonville is when we discovered Moon River Pizza!!
(5)Moe w.
I love this artsy place. I ued to frequent this place whne I was a student at Jones College which is right across the street. They have some great pie, I'm sure it's not the water as the say in New York. It put's me in the mind of Renna's. If you're ever in the area give it a try. It's a laid back chill, very cool place.
(5)Caron S.
Moon River, nestled in a strip center in Murray Hill, is a fun change of scenery from your typical pizza joint. Local art hangs on the wall, and a few fun beers are usually on tap. (I get most excited to occasionally see Spaaten Optimator!) As far as the pizza goes...the slices are big. Moon River is all about the toppings. The sauce, and especially the cheese, however, are lacking. The crust is okay and the toppings (especially on the veggie) are abundant. I feel like they take a cheese pizza that's been sitting around, pile it with your toppings, add some fresh cheese, and reheat it. That's how my pizza's looked on several occasions: sad. But I douse it in their creamy caesar salad dressing and life is good. The salads are also decent and come topped with tomato, onion, fresh mushrooms, crispy green pepper rings and a plentiful sprinkling of mozzarella. Take note...Moon River is closed on Sundays!

Worked late on Friday, went hunting for something to make the stomach happy. I had driven by Moon River before, but never stopped in. I didn't know what to expect, but I was hungry, and they were open. Serendipity! A pizza place that serves pizza! Ok, you can get a calzone, and salad, and breadsticks, but that's about it. Oh, and a reasonable selection of beers. I didn't ask about the wine. I ordered two slices, and a beer, and was very pleased. The staff was friendly, and the service was good. I'll be back to try some of the other combinations soon.
(4)Julie A.
This place is ridiculously far from my everyday route, but they make some piping hot and fresh pizza. I really enjoyed their white pizza and their everything pizza was topped with fresh meat and veggies. Perhaps a bit greasy for my taste, but I'd stop in again. If you come here, definitely order the pesto sticks. They are really good! They serve beer and wine. Just a nice chill spot to take a few friends before a night of bar-hopping.
(4)Devon N.
This joint is right around the corner from work, and I've been meaning to try it out for weeks. Finally this past Friday I talked my coworkers in to ordering and I was glad we did! We all ordered various calzones, and everyone was in agreement that they were awesome! The filling/toppings were so fresh and there was cheese for days. I'm a big man and I couldn't even finish mine if that tells you anything. You're definitely getting your money's worth. I'll be back to Moon River soon!
(4)Edward H.
This is the best Pizza in Jacksonville, hands down. The salad need help, big time.
(4)Anne-Marie B.
I love walking into a business and feeling like the staff is genuinely happy to see me. Moon River is notorious for that. Past that, the menu is wonderful and the execution is perfect. I generally don't like white pizza, but Moon River's version is amazing. I've been a handfull of times, and each time has been a pleasant experience. There's not much on this side of town that I'm a huge fan of, but I'll drive out of my way for this stuff!
(5)Jered P.
I have lived in Jax for over a year now. I have tried many different pizza places and this one is the best so far. (visited 3 times now) TIP: If you really like cheese I would recommend the white pizza, it'll melt your face off. The good: CRUST (seriously amazing crust) Unique Pizza Flavors Nice Decor Laid back environment Nice Table Order Markers =) The Improvements: It's a bit confusing on your 1st visit - Oder at counter, sit down and be waited on More spagetti westerns on the weekend! - Explanation, my wife and I visited one weekend and the good, bad, ugly was on the TV with volume so you could hear. Probably one of the most relaxing and fun pizza restaurant visits ever for me =)
(5)Tron C.
Nothing special. Pizza is rather bland. Variety is not what you expect from a specialty pizza joint. A lot of hype because its local.
(3)Mindy S.
Wow great pizza, had to wait a few minutes but that means its fresh when you go to a pizza place. ordered 2 slices to go. Nice crust, not at all greasy and perfect amounts of sauce and cheese. 2 giant slices and a drink for $6, enough for the 2 of us. This will be a regular place for us when in the area.
(5)Katie C.
Wow, I finally tried Moon River! I don't know what took me so long, but I'm extremely pleased to have this little pizzeria right around the corner in Murray Hill. In addition to a fun atmosphere, this spot offers really friendly service and delicious slices. I took advantage of the "Lunch Madness" special which features two one-topping slices and a drink for $6. Pretty good deal! I added an extra topping to each slice, of course, to make my two staple slices of Pepperoni and Mushroom + Pineapple and Feta. My lunch date and I also ordered a full Greek Salad to split. No Honey Mustard!? Mehh, oh well. The Creamy Italian was pretty good on on the salad, but excellent to dip crust in! The salad itself wasn't mind-blowing, but it was pretty good. I'll probably stick with the half next time. I LOVED the slices though. Fresh toppings, melty cheese, not too much sauce (pet peeve), and soft, doughy crust. They were big though. Too big to eat two for lunch, unless I wanted to spend the rest of the day sleeping on the couch watching Dr. Phil. (That actually isn't sounding so bad in retrospect) Although you order at the counter here, different staff members stopped by frequently to check on us and ask how the food was and refill our sodas. Always appreciated!
(4)Matt M.
This is just a great Pizza place and I do mean Pizza, not Italian, just really great pizza. Served by the slice or by the pie, with exactly what you want on it. There is a huge blackboard as you enter with full descriptions of every item that is offered. It is a counter service restaurant, but once you are seated, servers bring your food and come by periodically to refill drinks and ask if you need anything. It has a really cool vibe and service was extremely good. I dare you to find better pizza in Jacksonville.
(5)Billy D.
My go to spot for pizza in the riverside/Avondale area. Being from New York I understand good pizza and this place has it. Great prices for such quality stuff.
(5)Ryan D.
I find their pizza to be more on the bland side. Not the greatest around, but it's certainly better than Dominos or other chain places. $3.00 for a decent sized slice of pizza, so the price is certainly worth it!
(3)Paul C.
GOOD PIE! Wait staff is very efficient, and caring. Price is very reasonable too. I noticed that the non-pizza dishes they offer are very large portions. This place does a great amount of business; nice to see these days. Plan to wait on line to make your order if you go lunchtime. Street parking is limited.
(3)Dennis E.
Great pizza for a good price. They usually have this $5 dollar lunch special where its two slices of one-topping pizza and a drink. They have a pretty good selection of toppings that you might not find in a regular pizza place. Overall I like it a lot and eat there at least once a week. Plus they have a signed copy of the weirdest Lionel Richie album picture ever. Can't beat that.
(5)Jane H.
I am a big fan of Moon River Pizza, my husband and I enjoy the pizza once a week. we go there every Saturday, most times there is numerous family's enjoying pizza with small children. This past Saturday Oct 11th 2014 we were there enjoying pizza around 4 o clock in the afternoon, one of the cooks came out to help bust tables, from the kitchen another cook, I'm assuming yelled from the kitchen to the other cook who was across the restaurant, to get his ASS back in to the kitchen, everybody in the restaurant turned and looked in the direction of the kitchen wondering what was going on, as the other cook approached the kitchen the other cook continued to yell at him and tell him he belongs in the F--king kitchen and not to do that shit again. It is now Monday I am still thinking about the cook who was humiliated in front of an entire restaurant full of people, I do not know who the owner is or if he was the one doing the yelling, keep in mind there was many minors in the restaurant at this time. I am totally disgusted with this behavior, yes the pizza is delicious but to think that one employee feels its ok to speak to another employee like he did, or worse if that was the owner speaking to an employee like he did. This behavior is un excusable . I hope that the owner or somebody from moon river pizza reads the reviews and does something about that employees behavior or worse if it was the owner shame on you. I wanted to approach the cook, my husband would not allow me to get involved. I can not stand a bully regardless were it is and how old the people are that are being the bully.
(4)Tim M.
Great family place. It get very busy at night, so come early to get a seat.
(5)Sam S.
Love this place. Great pizza, calzones, and salads. The atmosphere is awesome and the prices rock.
(5)Lindsay L.
This place is always busy! Luckily it didn't take long to find a table. I can't say I was very impressed with the pizza this time. It was overloaded with cheese and the veggies on my pizza were barely cooked. Maybe it is just me, but I don't want raw onions as a topping. One cool thing is that they were able to half and half two of their specialty pizzas together. So my handsome man could get the T-Rex while I nom-nommed on my (crunchy) vegetable pie. The service and the atmosphere were great as usual. I will be back and maybe ask them to keep my pizza in the oven a little longer next time.
(3)Chris P.
Best pizza in town try "The" pizza great sauce and real cheese pleaser. The joint has a off beat feel and have enjoyed going for 15 years between Amelia Island and Murray Hill.
(5)Matthew L.
great pizza! best around!
(4)Hesays Shesays R.
Is just typical local pizza joint... but they do have a good selection of beer and wine... and the main reason we give it a 5 is because the ingredients taste very fresh and we believe they have the best tasting pizza dough in Jacksonville... We do have to admit it is not located in the best of areas... and parking is a pain... but it is all worth it...
(5)Matt S.
This is a GREAT pizza place! Recommended by a few friends, and of course my fellow Yelpers, I stopped by here on a recent Saturday night, and this place was PACKED! Be prepared to wait for a few minutes to place your order, and do your best to grab yourself a table, although whatever hassle you may have, it will be worth it. This pizza is GOOOOOOOOOOD. Kind of a hipster-type decor, very obvious it was geared more towards the college crowd, although I did notice families, and also older couples eating in here as well. There's a huge menu on a chalkboard immediately after you enter, showing you the different options as far as pizza and sides go, and give you the price, whether you want a whole pie, or just a slice or two. You place your order at the counter, and order your drinks (beer on tap and in bottles!), then take your number to a table. Once your food is ready, they will deliver it to you, and also offer up refills on any sodas or water. The restaurant was very clean, and I liked all the paintings hanging on the wall, all of which are for sale. Service was very good, although you really don't need much once your food is delivered, as you spend the majority of your meal stuffing your face with delicious food. Ordered the white pizza and the T-Rex (meat lovers). Both were SPECTACULAR. Toppings were abundant, flavor exploding in your mouth, and the pizzas and slices were HUGE. No way you can leave this place hungry, they're not messing around, this is real deal pizza! There were quite a few other choices on the wall I thought about ordering, but very glad i got those two. The T-Rex could've been the most tasty pizza I've ever eaten. Loved it. Overall, fantastic place. Pizza is awesome, service is good, and it's not super-pricey. You can definitely stop in for a slice or two for lunch, or stop in or place an order to go for dinner, and grab yourself a whole pie. They make it fresh, they make it good, and you won't be disappointed by stopping in here! Boo-Yah!
(4)Hilary L.
Moon River has maybe the best pizza in Jacksonville. I say maybe because I a) haven't eaten at every pizza joint in Jacksonville and b) there are some occasions in which I am in the mood for other pizzas. But still, if I had to choose my favorite, it would be hard to choose somewhere else. The pizza at Moon River is so... overloaded! Great, creative combinations of ingredients make this place what it is. I mean, of course, you can always build your own, but I never do. Seriously, when I can choose "The Pizza" with white cheddar cheese, garlic, fresh spinach, and mushrooms, why would I choose to build my own? Another great choice is the "White Pizza", that has mozzarella, feta, and parmesan cheeses with extra virgin olive oil, Oregonian, black pepper, and fresh garlic. "The Vegetarian" is LOADED with veggies... so much so that you have to eat it with a fork. The delicious, thin, NY style crust cannot hold up all those fresh veggies! There are pizzas with mixed veggies and meats, a meat lovers "T-Rex", and then the "Maui Wowee" that has your ham, pineapple and cheddar cheese, but then you can also choose between banana peppers or jalapenos to go with it. Mmm! I love this place. Everything is delicious. The atmosphere is very rock and roll and the walls are lined with local art that changes on a regular basis. There is also a great selection of beers and some decent wines are also always available. It is located in the hipster, up and coming area of Murray Hill, right outside of Riverside and Avondale. Also, be prepared to take your pizza to go if you come on a busy night. The tables go fast and the line will go out the door! This is a local gem. Do not miss out!
(5)Dan M.
Moon River is newly expanded! Way more tables, still only one register. The line still creeps at lunch, but now when you're finally through you and your crew can sit, which I think is just awesome because I prefer sitting while eating. If you have enough time for a longer lunch and damnit you want some pizza, this will get the job done. The $6 lunch special is a SCREEEEAMIN DEAL (2 giant one-topping slices and a large drink), but I usually end up negating the savings by over-tipping the friendly/funny staff. These guys run a pizza shop like a record store. Because I like the place and am rooting for it, I wish I could say the pizza was the best I've ever had, but it's just ok. Not enough sauce? Cheese too bland/thin? I don't know. I can't put my finger on it. Seems every bite is just toppings and crust.
(3)Bessie S.
awesome ..I think the secret is the CHEESE!!!!
(5)Jodi C.
This is my favorite pizza place in Jacksonville! You can't go wrong with all of their specialty pizzas. It's a good place to kick back enjoy a beer and a slice or two. Their calzones are so yummy due to the fact that they typically leave them a bit doughy - not baked to a crisp which is what I love! Also their house salad is delicious and normally piled high with grated mozzarella cheese and a yummy Italian dressing. Now I think I must go there soon! It does get packed on Friday and Saturday nights, so plan to wait a little (not long) for a table if you're dining in, or order take out.
(5)Brooke K.
Hands down, some of the most authentic pizza I've had in a long time! Opting for a create-your-own, we chose a spinach, Roma tomato, mozzarella, basil pizza that was a complete delight. The dough was crusty, yet soft, yet firm enough to hold the toppings. The sauce was not bitter, nor was it drenching the pizza. Overall, it was a perfect balance. Coupled with the friendly staff and service...."Bravo, Moon River!".
(5)Sara G.
They do have the fresh toppings everyone raved about but I think they just take a cheese pizza, throw on the toppings, and heat the pizza SLIGHTLY. Not impressed by the pizza technique but the beer selection rocks.
(3)Sara W.
This is one of the few places in Jacksonville where I will get a pizza. The dough is good and the other ingredients seem fresh. This place has well conceived pizza specialties---doesn't try to have some giant sub-par menu. I think the execution of the pizza could certainly be more consistent. Pizza may need a bit longer in the oven. The service and atmosphere is hip and fun. No frills, just better than decent pizza which is commendable in this area.
(4)Arlando B.
Pretty good place. The art/deco is always interesting. The servers are generally nice (It can be awkward trying to get a refill). Sometimes the line can be a bit long (but one can call in, but it is still is awkward skipping other people in line). I think they have fairly priced food, and the taste is unique. I've tasted many pizzas in Jacksonville and Moon River is easily at the top (however doesn't beat the crunch and savory taste of NY Pizza). For one, I feel that they are very consistent. You won't have much differentiation in taste (I used to go to this place 3 - 4 times a month... but I am trying to be healthier :)). However I noticed that some employees make a better pie than others but I think this just comes down to how much marinara sauce they put on the pizza. Overall if you are in the Murray Hill, Avondale, Riverside area and craving for a nice slice of pizza go to Moon River.
(5)Daniel E.
The pizza here has got to be the best in jax hands down! Love love love it!The sauce is to die for.the toppings are awesomely fresh. The environment is just as fresh as the toppings. What more could you want? This place is hip!
(4)Andy L.
I thought Mellow Mushroom was the best pizza in town, but Moon River might have eclipsed them. I've enjoyed a few different pizzas and they were all awesome. Dudes at my table got calzones and said they were amazing. The beer there is great too.
(4)James M.
This place makes the best pesto chz bread.
(5)Kristen M.
This is my favorite pizza place in Jacksonville. The pizza is great (I'm partial to pineapple & sausage), but it's the friendly staff and the tunes that really make this a great place to end the week and relax!
(4)Jibreel M.
Gosh I love pizza! I realize this sounds like something an eight-year-old would say but I can't deny my love of pies in all regions, shapes and sizes. It's true, I am a pizza whoreslut. Anyway... Moon River is my neighborhood dine-in pizza joint and it's great. It's proximity (a nice walk) from my place has me coming back at least twice a week. A large dining area, fast service, a great staff, reasonable prices and - most importantly - delicious pizza. Other options too, including salads and calzones. They have great prices on pitchers of beer too, so come on a crowded Friday night with friends and enjoy. Bonus star because this is NOT a chain restaurant - support indie businesses and come here instead of Al's in Riverside if you have the choice. Your taste buds, wallet and sense of solidarity will all thank you.
(4)John X.
I dig it here. Do yourself a favor and get a meatball-topped pie. They do it right. Always a good time, good beer, and good pizza when I go.
(4)Ryan M.
Great pizza, great beer, good location, and good ambiance. What more could you want? They have a bunch of good specialty pizzas. We got one to-go and took it to a softball game, and we had to fight everyone away to be able to eat it ourselves.
(4)
