Kind of a hard find since it's buried deep inside a strip-mall with Pizza Hut and some unknown gas station. Once you find the place you enter and are bombarded with color and music all around. Beautifully warm orange walls, smiling faces of little children and cashier greet you. Took up a menu and ordered quickly to beat out the coming rain. As I waited, I checked out the small dinning room that seats about 70. Small speakers in a corner that plays Latin music that makes you want to get up and sway while spanish programs played (on mute) on a tv in the corner. Very cute place. The food :-/ Empanada: I'm at a lost to what I was given. I ordered a shredded beef empanada. I received (what I believe) a corn-dog filled with shredded beef. Well seasoned but lacked any heat. I've made empanadas from scratch and I don't think corn is ever used in the dough. It was okay - but like I said it felt more like a corn-dog filled with shredded beef. (The homemade green sauce - which I think was Sofrito - was great! Dipped my corndog empanada in it and used some on the goat.) Chivo : I checked out the food before I left. It smelled good and looked good (outside of the overripe avocado). I get home and notice the wilted shreds of lettuce and then bite into the huge soft potato. The amount of salt was overpowering to the dish. I immediately felt disappointed that the meal was a waste of money. Somehow the goat was extremely tender and wasn't as salty as the potato and the broth. But it could have been more spiced. But the salty broth aided the extremely blan white rice (my mistake I should have tried it with yellow). In addition, I now noticed that the meal was suppose to come with plantains but I was jibed! Tres Leche : heavier then others I have tried. When I first received the cake it was a plain looking cake. By the time I got home and finished off the empanada and had a few bites of the chivo - milk and caramel oozed from the cake. Pretty tasty but nothing remarkable. I really hope this was just a bad day - but not sure I will try it again.

Love it here. I go all the time now. I had the hornado (roast pig) the first time and it was so good that I got hooked. When the waitress brought my plate she let me know I was supposed to put the salsa on top of it, since I've never been there before and wouldn't have known. The rope vieja is also amazing, as are the empanadas.

Very pleasant staff. Food was good very good and I would love to try some of the more traditional meals. Restaurant is very quaint and much more appealing once inside.

Truly a mom and pop joint.. was slightly hesitate due to location but some of the best food is found in interesting areas... I had the pollo con arroz lunch with three sides.. the chicken was a tad salty just by a hair but all in all was good. I will be back, the service was nice and the restaurant was clean..

I probably get food delivered from these guys 2-3 days a week. I love their Arepas with Ropa Vieja, lentils and tostones. Arepas are corn cakes like they have in Ecuador and Venezuela, Ropa vieja is a flavorful beef dish where the beef is cooked so that it falls apart. Tostones are fried plaintains- they also have yucca fries, which are also good. My friend gets the chicken soups with extra chicken. Every several days, I just get that craving. . .that's how good it is.
