The coolest thing about this place is that they try their best to please their customers. We had ordered something called Lasagna Pizza while in Manhattan. My brother wouldn't stop talking about it for months. I mean it's been 8 months and it's still on his mind. And since this wasn't Manhattan, I took necessary precautions. Before I left the City, I took those slices of pizza, sealed them carefully in my luggage and ran to put them in the fridge as soon as I got home. I savored that thing piece by piece until I had indulged in it for a week after I we arrived from our trip. I expected to bid farewell to that mix of italian beef, ricotta cheese, and perfect crust, but I was pleasantly surprised when I went to Mikey's and they said they could custom make one for me. Now that, is customer service! The best part is that I think the cooks at Mikey's used better herbs and cheese, because it seemed to burst with even more flavor than its Big Apple predecessor and the cheese wasn't as greasy. Great job, Mikey's!

My family and I went here for the first time ( not sure how this was my first visit since it has been around forever) and I have to say the pizza was the bomb! The crust is really what made the pizza... Crunchy, fresh, light, and delicious! Hands down better than Pizza Palace or Als. Definitely will be our new pizza go to. I already am craving it!

I have to say, I'm shocked with myself that we haven't tried this place before! Ordered baked ziti, cheese pizza & a calzone! Kids said that the flavor is excellent on pizza & it's not greasy like some other companies, my daughter loves the ziti & sauce is very flavorful! I'm always weary about new places! I have to say y'all out did Pizza Palace. Thanks for good food!!

I just moved to Jax from NY/NJ and this is my 3rd time here. I didn't believe the reviews but they are correct-delicious pizza, perfectly crispy crust and fresh ingredients. Service with a smile each & every time. I was skeptical at first-after all I'm from the Bronx-but I was pleasantly surprised. My go to place for pizza - hands down!

Called in and ordered a pizza from here last night for dinner, based on reviews from others here on YELP. I can honestly say that I was not disappointed. The pizza, a large with pepperoni, mushroooms and onions was very good, fresh and hot (even when I got it home) I can honestly recommend Mikeys Pizza to anyone who likes really good NY Style Pizza!

I stopped in around 8:00 on a Wed. night to grab some quick take-out and spaghetti with meat sauce sounded good. And it was good, not great - just good. My take out container had at least 1/2" of liquid in the bottom like the pasta wasn't well drained. The taste of the sauce was ok but it could have been more plentiful. The sweet tea was average as was the buttered garlicy sub roll that came with my meal. It was Ok but if I were in the area again I'd look elsewhere... $14.00 for spaghetti and tea was a bit suprising too for a strip mall joint

Just returned from Mickey's after my first lunch there --- I was genuinely happy with my new experience. The place was clean, comfortable, and spacious. I arrived at 12:30 and there were plenty of tables available. One fairly large group of medical (scrubs gave them away) students, or nurses, were already there and were ordering, so I was a little afraid I'd have an extra wait because of their food going in before my order --- but the waitress who was extra nice, let me know she would put my order on top. And, big surprise, "Mikey" actually baked my personal pizza (quite large for a "personal") and delivered it to me. It was delicious and very hot (just like pizza should be). After I was eating, several more small groups arrived and they were being served really good looking sandwiches, and one extra nice looking salad! So.. I will go back and try one of those. I was offered a drink to go, and was thanked for coming in by all the staff I saw. The food maybe pretty typical of most Italian mom & pop stores around town, but the customer service was exceptional. (I would compare their food to Joseph's Italian Restaurant or Rena's Pizza)

Our party of four went to dinner tonight at Mikey's Pizza per my brother-in-law's recommendation. I am so glad he did because we all loved it. Between the four of us, we shared a fried mozzarella appey, a 12 by 12 thick crust meat lover pizza, a small NY style combo pizza, and spaghetti with sausage. We had to take half a pizza home because it was so much food. I LOVED their pizza. My husband is a thick crust fan, and he really enjoyed the meat lover pizza. I was only able to eat one slice of it and was pleasantly surprised that it was not as greasy as other thick crust pizza I tried at other places. The NY style pizza was just so delicious. Part of it is personal preference. I've always preferred the thinner crust than thick. But the pizza is so flavorful with fresh ingredients and delicious crust. Besides delicious pizza, the service was impeccable. It was actually funny because my brother-in-law walked in like he knew the owner or something. They were all smiles and chit chatting with us, super friendly. Then after dinner, I asked him how long and how often he's been to Mikey's that they were that friendly to us... He told us, once. ONCE?! That's how friendly they were. I am sure we'll be going back to Mikey's again soon.

I have been wanting to try the buffet at this place for a long time so I figured why not today when I went there was greeted by the owner and his wife explain to them that I was going to get the buffet but I really just wanted a pizza. I was anxious to try the different types of pasto so that I could recommend to others. The owners / club they came by explain the quality of how they make their food it was fast and it was quick and it had that smell that reminds you of Italy not just a generic pizza smell everything was prepared very light and texture the alfredo was buttery and flavorful but not heavy and thick and the tortellini was off the chain good. I love the little local spot and this it. They use fresh ingredients and treat u like family. Definitely an a+ from this yelper.

I stopping in today at Mikey's for a couple of slices of cheese pizza for the first time. The atmosphere is relaxed. The pizza was delicious NYC style and the staff was friendly. I was able to grab a bite and catch up on work without feeling pressured to pay my bill. I'd definitely stop in again when I'm in the area and would recommend the pizza. I forgot to mention that I paid less than $4 for two large NYC style slices. Great Value!

If you place a delivery order, be sure to have your own utensils on hand because it won't be included with your order. Before delivery guy left, I asked if utensils were in the bag because I didn't see any when I peaked in & he made it seem as though it was a dumb question.. When I called to bring it to their attention, they denied they made the delivery to my hotel 5 minutes prior even though I have the receipt As far as the food goes, ordered lobster ravioli and it was not good at all!! Tough & under cooked, loaded with salt. Unenjoyable meal, poor service.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
