Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Went in and ordered lasagna what arrived tasted both frozen and microwaved. I was really hoping for better as they're the closest Italian restaurant to my home. But sadly no. Won't be returning.

For a long time customer, today I was totally disappointed to hear that Lue and Mike wasn't there. But that wasn't the my biggest problem . After calling in an order for 1 pizza it took over an hour. I was told it would take 30 minutes. So after 25 minutes I go there to pick up my 1 pizza. Then I was told it wasn't ready that it would take 30 more minutes. Because the they had 6 people show up in the dining room. As the rude waitress tells me how long it would be. The cook was cuss and screaming. Every other word that came out of his mouth was f***. I will not be back. Not worth it. Pizza was burnt. Threw it away. Wasted money.

Loved Luigis when I was growing up at the beach and was happy to find the university location when I moved back to Jacksonville. This WAS the best pizza on the planet. I had heard the new owners had been given the pizza receipe and wanted to try it out. Sadly- cheap ingredients, cardboard crust, and none of the flavors I grew up with. I won't be back. I'll miss the old Luigis.

I have been coming to Luigi's for over 30 years. It's always been one of my favorites since my childhood. Unfortunately they have changed owners and ruined the pizza I loved so much. I guess this officially ends my longtime love affair. It was great knowing you.

I've been twice recently. Food is great. It's a friendly neighborhood Italian place. They got it down. I went there as a kid over 25 years ago... And man, I don't think they have changed anything there. The place could use a renovation or at least some new painting and lighting in the seating area. The decor is drab and old. The price for me , my wife, and my son to eat there was about $21... Which is the amount of money they have put into that building in the past 20 years.

Sadly we stopped in and the new owners did not use Lou or Michael's recipe. Just cardboard crust and cheap Ingredients. We will not return. Soooo sad

A regular dinner spot for years! Friends of mine have been coming too Luigi's for 20 years. I began joining them regular on Tuesday's for dinner. This place could be easily described as a "hole in the wall". That's what give is character and charm. My personal favorite is the meatball sub! Add in the Italian dressing on the salad and you have a winner. Hot tip - keep the dressing for your side of garlic bread (order a side of garlic bread)

Luigi's has been there forever, and has stood the test of time. Is it "authentic" Italian? Um, no, but the food is tasty, and filling, and the place just oozes character. Some might mistake the character for grime; don't be misled. Lunch specials are priced right, and be sure to check out the autographed 8x10s of lots of '70s icons. If you've got mobility issues, the bathrooms (well, the men's at any rate) may challenge you.
