First time eating at the Hurricane Grill and it wasn't to bad. I had the Fajita rice bowl which was pretty good. Wife had the Hurricane salad which she said was great. The atmosphere was nice with some live music. We sat outside on the porch which for the music and there was a nice breeze. Will definitely be back.

I'm not sure if this Hurricane is under the same ownership as the one on 210, but I've noticed that at both locations the wing sauces are extremely bland. Don't get me wrong - they have a great selection of flavors, but most of them taste watered-down. I have even asked for extra sauce on several occasions and dipped the wings directly in, but the flavor is muted. And although I have never tried their "Level 5" wings, nothing below this seems the least bit spicy. I don't know it other locations have this issue, as these are the only two I frequent on a regular basis. The one on St. Augustine Beach used to be great, so this may only be a problem with certain restaurants.

I like to come back to this place from time to time because it's a good place to get some good food. Good sauces for the wings and the garlic parmesan fries always hit the spot. Service is always spot on and friendly and the restaurant is always clean and comfortable. Try the coco loco and the ancho lime sauces for a different spin on traditional somewhat spicy wings. My only issue with this place is the music selection: Country music is awful.

Firstly, let me preface this by saying I am pepper fanatic! My ideal wings are as hot as I can stand it and with a great flavor. I can handle heat too. I've eaten six wings that were drenched in a hot sauce of Ghost chilies and Scorpion peppers. So I can handle heat. Their "Ridiculously Hot" sauce is delicious but too hot to still be enjoyable. Tonight, I had 15 of their "Extra Hot" which is a step below. They were PHENOMENAL! The perfect blend of hot and flavor. Hurricane Grill and Wings has now taken the #1 spot of my favorite wings. Go. Indulge in the spice and enjoy yourself!

I have tried hurricanes a few times and each time I hope it will be better then last time, but nope everytime I leave dissapointed. This last time was just horrible, I stupidly picked nachos.... This was their interpretation on nachos...chips with chili, a little bit of liquid cheese, hot sauce, ranch, and huge handful of jalapenos on top and a few chopped up tomato's...... As I was eating this I felt so gross like this is food that makes you feel bad about your self... Lol! The flavors just did not go togeather , I would not recommend to anyone....... Hurricanes is known for wings that would be your best bet here. Come here for the atmosphere, have a drink with maybe an app. But go somewhere else for dinner!

Wings are huge! Nachos are made for two and were very good. Service was pretty good and the decor is that of an on beach location. Great drink and cocktail selection.

This is a great place to grab some wings and watch the game. The service is excellent as well. I would return!

Love their wings and sauces. We eat takeout more than eat in and I've learned to check my order prior to leaving. It is wrong more times than right. They will always make it up with a free dinner next visit but when you order something you want it right not free the next visit. That's really my only complaint. Food is great!!

Today I was going to go to an old regular on this side of town and decided let's try Hurricanes. That ended up being not such a good idea. The place is just kind of blah you know the same old bar stuff. I went after the lunch crowd and I guess it was the blue hair happy hour. Hell, I'm 50 with a fair amount of practice but I was young today. The wait staff seemed to be just as tired too. They didn't do much to help me or anyone else that I could see. I did watch the other folks cause I had a lot of time to wait. I decided on some wings in a Jamaican Jerk sauce. First the wings were stuffing with lack of meat syndrome. The sauce was, sauce with some allspice thrown in. I did enjoy the celery sticks all 3 of them that I received. Maybe it is just me but it seemed that 10 wings and a drink should not add up to 16.00. In all it wasn't a happy time and now I can check off another place that I probably will not return to in Julington Creek area.

Great Wings, nice people... One of four of our guests mentioned that the chicken sandwich was a little dry, and they took it off the bill...... The epitome of customer service perfection.

Went here last night on my sons recommendation and were pleasantly surprised at just how good the wings were here. Barrett our server was excellent very prompt and helpful with his food recommendations. The place was very clean and very hip feeling. The live music/singer on the patio was very enjoyable too. The price was comparable to all the other wing shops in town. But it's just so far from the house we will only be coming back here if we happen to be nearby at dinner time, or a special occasion.

I guess a lot of people like this place but our meals were all terrible. Greasy, soggy sweet potato fries. Fish and chips meal had terrible fish. Smelly and nasty tasting. Shrimp was awful. I don't plan on ever going back.

Disclaimer: I worked here when it first opened, so I don't know if it violates Yelp's TOS for me to review it. I'll base this review off of a visit I had recently. Being a chicken wing advocate takes you places. Everyone you talk to has a recommendation for you or a favorite place that you have to try. So what makes a good chicken wing? For me, it's combination of size and sauce. I don't want tiny extra crispy wings. I want medium-large light crunch on the outside but juicy on the inside wings. This is where I go to find that. This place might suffer from an identity crisis. "Hurricane grill & wings." Why not just Hurricane wings? Stick to what you're good at and do it better than everyone else. When you browse the menu you'll find tacos and burgers and seafood dishes. All of these are pretty good, but detract from what you probably came here for. And don't get my started on boneless wings. Whoever invented these should be ashamed of themselves. Save it for the kids menu. Hurricane really shines in it's sauce selection. 30+ to choose from so you're bound to find something. I really like the x-hot, but the garlic-parmesan is so good. Make sure you ask your server about the sauces popularity if you try something different. Usually a good indicator if it's any good or not. i can't speak on the service, mainly because I know some of the people who work there and have never had any issues. Great place to watch a game on sunday, but the drink prices are a little high. If I could give it a 3.5/5 I would. They just need to move on from the stranger things on the menu and focus on the wings and burgers.

Good food and service. Very much a 'locals' bar during happy hour type times. Can almost make you feel uncomfortable but bringing a friend you will be fine.

Brought my wife and two 6 year olds in on a Tuesday evening. We arrived at 6:15p. As we sat and waited to be seated in the half empty restaurant; with empty tables all around I was told that they were all reserved for trivia night which did not start until 7p. The naive young hostess asked if we wished to be seated outside. After telling her that I did not want to expose my children to the smokers outside it was decided that we take the family to another restaurant. We have eaten at Hurricanes many times before but after that poor display of customer service I will never go there again. It's obvious that the customer is the last thing on the owners mind.

The definition of Friday night- great atmosphere, good people, excellent food and drink, and live music from That Guy Steve !
(5)Rachel L.
A great spot for lunch or dinner and drinks! Sometimes it feels really cramped in there and one time there were so many flies flying around I felt like I was eating outside! But it's almost always a solid 3

Had the Grouper sliders with a side of the Ginger slaw. Num num num num nummy. I put the slaw on the sliders and it produced a sensation of flavors. Hints of Habanero and Ginger. Washed it down with a Sweetwater 420.

My 5 stars isn't so much for the food, but for the customer service. The food is decent, but here's why 5 stars. On a busy Friday night, I went into the store to place/pick up a smallish to go order. The to go ordering system is really awkward, but we waited a short 15 -20 minutes for our order, and we were good to go. We get it home, and it's wrong. This was a 20 piece wing combo in 4 flavors - well, that's what we ordered anyway. We GOT 20 wings in 3 flavors. Odd.. so I call them up, really, really not happy because we live a fair distance away, and we were hungry. The owner gets on the phone, apologizes profusely, and offers to DELIVER a fresh, correct, order. Wow. I wasn't expecting that, at all. So, 20-30 minutes later, Kristi shows up at my door, with fresh wings. I think a lot of restaurants around town could learn a thing or two from her about customer service, because I will definitely go back to Hurricane.

Stopped in here today for lunch with our realtor. It has a strong Caribbean vibe going on. There big thing is all the various types of "sauces" you can get with your meal. I had the Mahi tacos, kettle fries, and slaw. The food was good. But nothing to get blown away about. My wife had a salad she enjoyed. The service was really bad. The food took forever. The place was not crowded. We never once got bought refills. Not sure if I will be back.

Hurricane might be chain, but they definitely know what they're doing with those sauces! I've become very partial to the wing and most definitely their BOSS SAUCE. I won't go anywhere else for wings. Go see Zach for the perfect cocktail to make you feel right where you need to be. It's a friendly, family restaurant with trivia on Tuesday (I think Tuesday?). However, during the day it is a restaurant with a bar but around 9pm, and after, it turns to more of a bar that serves food- not the best place for kids. Other than that, it's a fun atmosphere with friendly patrons and employees as well.

Food was okay, ordered chicken wings and fish taco. It's not better than gators dockside or dick's or steamin' Service was tolerable, I guess I didn't expect much after reading the previous reviews It definitely could be better though. Drink prices were higher than most places, $12 for 2 pints of local beer? Probably wont be going back to this place unless someone else is buying :) Their food & service is not worth what they charge IMHO

The wings are good about 4 out of 5 times. Service is bad about 1/2 the time. I go because the flavor is good but they could really use some better waiters. Pay the kids a buck an hour more and get kids like they have at Chik Fil A. Waitresses that smell of smoke is no good either. Sorry, if you want to smoke I don't want you bringing me my food. Fries are good. When the service is good it is really good, when it is not, it is mediocre. They do over cook the wings some of the time. They need better quality control.

***Two Star Rating based on quality and service issues in a downward spiral over a period of time*** I finally decided I would write a review for Hurricane. We live 8 blocks from here and it always been a Saturday lunch time destination after my son's football games. It has been a weekly staple because of the consistency of very good quality food, service an atmosphere since it first opened. However, over the past 3-4 months we have noticed that the quality of food is deteriorating as well as the service. I recently inquired with one of the servers about the food side and she advised that they recently changed providers to reduce costs and that there had been consistent negative feedback (to her at least) on food quality. While I agree with others that atmosphere is great, as well as the outside area - there always seems to be some sort of delay either with server attention or food delivery. I am not trying to bash HGW, but it just has not been up to par lately. I am sure we will go back when boating season starts back up as they are right by the marina and I will post an update then.

Hurricanes is kind of a guilty pleasure for me. The ambiance is freakin ridiculously cheesy and the menu is obviously generated by the marketing of the month club. Despite all that it the wings are pretty good. Franchises work because they make good food and have a great system down. Hurricanes has that. The outdoor bar is actually kind of nice too, yes you are sitting out on the parking lot but it is a pretty ice parking lot. Look past the 15 year old hostess that was obviously hired for her keen wit, order the Thai wings, and take advantage of the pretty good happy hour.

I have eaten here quite a few times, enjoyed it every time. Sweet water 420 on tap sealed the deal

Good service and neat patio bar. It will be a nice place to enjoy a cold one once the weather cools!

THE SERVICE IS BAD BUT I BLAME THAT ON OWNER THEY DONT PRACTICE WHAT THEY PREACH.THEY KEEP PEOPLE THEY LIKE NOT PEOPLE WHO WORK.THE FOOD AND SAUCE SELECTION IS GOOD MOST OF THE TIME,BUT SERVERS ARE BAD AND THIS STORE HAS HAD 38 VIOLATIONS SINCE OPEN ONLY ALMOST 2 YEARS CHECK IT OUT ATrestaurant vialations database jacksonville.com not impressed with this location when busy they cook wings and leave them untill someone orders them i know someone who works their!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(2)Cameron F.
Best salsa in town.... Who woulda thought, with such great Mexican restaurants in town. Great beer selection on tap including circus boy and #9 (magic hat). Get the wings (after all it's in their name) and order one level hotter than u normally get.
(4)Jen M.
Excellent service and the wings are great. Best place to watch a game and drink beer. Happy hour deals are fabulous. Bring some friends and have fun. Would come again and again...:)
