The food is good and they cook it pretty quick. The price is low enough that I get two combos and wantons for $20. I'm a repeat customer. I usually choose Hot Wok when I want something quick and don't want to cook.

The reviews of this place are funny. I heeded their advice and didn't bother to actually go there, but our team at work did order food for delivery. Since they were so busy with lots of other delivery orders, our awesome secretary picked it up. She had concerns about the interior of the establishment, but the rest of us never saw it so we didn't know any better/worse. The servings are generous and my General Tso's chicken was fully breaded, fried and covered with a sweet and not-spicy sauce. Not as fiery as I hoped/expected Hunan food to be, but definitely filling and I understand why it's the one of the most ordered Chinese food items in the country (Look: nbcnews.com/news/asian-a… ). My entrée, as do all the lunch options, comes with choice of fried pork rice or white rice (guess which I picked?!?) and a veggie spring roll. This is some solid Chinese take-out, and no harm comes to you if you never actually go to the establishment. If you like chopsticks like me, make sure you ask for them.

I called in a delivery order (their online system was down) to my hotel. The ordering process was quick and easy and the food arrived sooner than expected. I ordered steamed dumplings- standard fair with traditional dipping sauce- pretty good I also order broccoli with garlic sauce which was laden with so much oil that it was inedible. A shame as the broccoli and carrots in the dish were fresh and delicious looking. I couldn't get past the bowl FULL of oil to eat the dish though. I also ordered the Szechuan chicken- mild. This dish was also sitting in an enormous amount of oil and lacked the delicious flavor I was hoping for. It too though was full of delicious and fresh veggies and all white meat chicken. Lay off the oil and add more flavor and the dishes would be just right. I have attached photos here.

"You guys are next to the strip club with all the cops outside right?"- me to the Chinese restaurant next to a strip club with every cop in the city out front. This is NOT somewhere you come eat inside. Its in a sketchy area and there were literally homeless guys inside and would scrape their panhandling change together for fried rice. But notice I gave it 5stars That's because the food was fresh and good (albeit americanized standard Chinese) the service was friendly..and it was CHEAP...Dinner for 2 was around $10... Definitely not a dine in China spot though but I would absolutely go back

Good stuff for what it is! We order here maybe once a month and stick to the basics. Price is good, delivery is typically pretty prompt, and food is always hot. Egg rolls come hot and crispy, fried dumplings are very tasty, and the beef lo mein is great. Honey chicken, sesame chicken, and general tsos are all good dishes. Again, it is what it is - cheap Chinese delivery, but they do it very well!

Good Chinese fast food place. I come here for lunch about three times a month. I've had their chicken with broccoli, pork with mixed veggies, and general tso's chicken. They all taste great! My choice of soup is their wonton soup. When ordering, you can request how spicy you want your food. Their lunch special is under $5 and can add a can of soda for just .50 cents. Good deal!

He ate my heart and then he ate my brain. Then I ate his Chinese food... Hot Wok lied. They said they'd be here in 40 minutes. They got here in 25 minutes. Haha. YES! Another place that delivers to Downtown (with a $10 limit, of course). Tired of China Joy but craving Chinese food anyway, I noticed a new option at the lobby desk: Hot Wok. They have a lunch special menu that lasts from 11am till 3pm from Monday through Friday. Too bad I'm a slow poke. It was 3:30pm when I got hungry. I ordered Sesame Chicken ($6.99 for a combo plate, which includes Pork Fried Rice and an eggroll).Of course it was drowning in the sauce as most Chinese places do, but the chicken was still hot and the broccoli was fresh. The sauce tasted pretty good, too. 4 stars. Their teriyaki beef on a stick was delicious (4 pieces for $4.49), much more tender and saucier than what I used to order from another local Chinese restaurant. 4.5 stars. The pork fried rice was OK, but nothing special. The rice was a bit dry and the pork chunks were pretty small. 2.5 stars. By the way, Hot Wok not only tasted better than China Joy, they were much cheaper. 3.66 stars rounded up

Was really happy with portions and taste. They made my Orange Chicken just spicy enough and also provided good, crispy, egg rolls. They have a killer lunch deal for under $5 (entree plus white/pork rice). Will go there again.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
