Absolute worst service in the entire Chinese food industry. It took over 10 minutes to even be greeted and then another 10 for the order to be taken. It took me speaking up for the woman to even offer to take my order. It has now been over 20 minutes after that and still no food. Never come here if you're dying of starvation because trust me, you will die before you get your food. The food is as good as any Chinese restaurant, but definitely not worth the wait or getting to watch one of the employees kids walk around on one of the tables in her socks...

I was there yesterday and they advertise as" New York Style Chinese" and they certainly did not falsely advertise!! The food was really good. It is very hard to find a good Chinese restaurant here in Jacksonville. I would recommend to anyone looking for good take out in the area.

We love the food here. It is the best chinese food we've eaten here in Jacksonville. It really tastes like NYC Chinese food (we moved here from NYC 14 years ago). If you want things extra spicy (like the General Tso's Chicken) or cooked longer (like the broccoli) they will do it. We ordered from another local place not far from here because my daughter raved about it and it was terrible. Even she said on that particular day it wasn't good. So maybe it was just a hit and miss kind've thing. At Hop Shing for the most part, almost always, more than not, we enjoy it and it is really good. Update 7/1/15: Just finished off another family order from Hop Shing and we all commented while eating how it is the best chinese food here in Jax. Nom nom nom the egg rolls (which were getting smaller and smaller) are nice and "regular sized" again as of 7/1/15. Also, when I went to pick up our order the dining area was also very bright and clean, so much so, I would have eaten at one of the tables. I'm adding some pictures of the food we ordered because the other two pictures aren't a great representative of the variety of food they cook here and how good it looks (and tastes). Update 8/1/15 I am adding this update because Hop Shing is just consistantly delicious. Switched it up a little this time and added the mongolian beef (comes with onions and a pt of white rice) and the mixed vegetables (also comes with a pt of white rice). Got the General Tso's chicken extra spicy, plain lo mein, chicken noodle soup, and some eggrolls. It was so good the rest of the family practically breathed it in and gobbled it up before I even took my first bite. I'm adding some more photos. The soup looks shiny on top because of the flash. I called in ahead of time and picked it up. The dining area (for people who 'eat in') was very clean and bright.

Love their beef lo mein and their crab rangoons are awesome! Always a fast delivery, a good buy all the way around.

They're definitely my favorite chinese place here in Jacksonville. Always to friendly and fast delivery. Ohhh and they're food is amazing.

Terrible! We ordered pick up. My first clue was it would be ready in 10 minutes on a Saturday evening around 6:30pm. I noticed a "funny" "old cooking oil" smell from the bag. The beef and Chinese vegetable was greasy and fried rice was a bright orange color..... the egg rolls were soo old that we could bearly chew. Krab Rangoon cold and flat ... Recycled food??? We did NOT eat. I called the restaurant ,they put me on terminal hold....I Did hold and when I told them about food they hung up the phone on me... I Will Never.. Ever think about ordering food from Hop Shing. Beware

Good for pick up or delivery Chinese food. There is inside seats but only counter service. I'm unsure how old the restaurant is but it shows much ware. All the menu items you expect for this type of restaurant. Purchase quart size containers or combination dinners. The food is good quality with large portions. The menu is large but typical. There are only can and bottle sodas. Clearly this is a delivery and pick up place. I will definitely call in and pick up orders for Chinese. This family owned type place is a perfect delivery Chinese close to home.
