Very good food I got the chickichanga tasted exceptionally well. I will upload some photos I took from my Olympus camera. The potatoes were good with the meal I would of liked a little longer cook on my potatoes next time I'll ask for that. The sauce on the chickichanga was flavorful I also asked for some salsa. It went well with the dish. I never had avacado with a breakfast dish loved it. The decor is nice and welcoming. I enjoyed my breakfast at first watch. I will be back. I would recommend this place for breakfast. I did not have an issue with the staff other than they don't come by much to ask if you need anything.

One of my favorite breakfast spots in Jax. Their food is always healthy and super fresh. I get the Floridian waffle with the fresh fruit on top. They have some of the best coffee as well. Their bacon is nice and crispy. They also have nice and friendly servers.

Wonderful atmosphere and amazing food. The selections are amazing. The only thing that irks me is the Price Listing here since a typical "entree"+drink is definitely above $10 which would put it in the $$ range. Still, a great place to go.

Our family is very pro-First Watch. I've been to the restaurant in several states and am never disappointed. The Fruity Chicken is my go to meal. The Wheat Germ pancake is great also. Service was a little slow today, but still reasonable.

This was actually my second visit to First Watch. I had little time to come up with a place where my Mom would eat the food. She's very particular about food whereas me not so much. So for our once-in-a-while Mother/Daughter Sunday brunch we came here. I got there about 11:30 and the place was hopping. We were gonna wait for a table and the wait was about 30 minutes but there was two seats across from each other at the high top table with no wait so we opted for that instead. The server waiting on the entire table was very attentive and the food came out in a timely manner. We ordered a cranberry juice and a orange juice to start our brunch, not big to-do. As we looked over the menu, I decided on the Greek Fetish Omelette. Fetish? Really? I thought it was a typo but when I asked about it our server said it is "Fetish": Roasted red peppers, spinach and onions with feta and black olives. Greek Omelettes have always been a favorite of mine so I got it with a side of greens aka spring mix. My mother got her favorite, the Traditional Breakfast with two eggs any style, potatoes, turkey sausage, and wheat toast. Like I said, she's particular. The food came out in about 10-15 mins. Nothing really exciting about the omelette or the greens, just plain good eatin', Mom enjoyed hers as well. I kept looking at the signs in the windows advertising their new drinks: Kale Tonic and Day Glow. Day Glow is a blend of carrots, ginger, lemon, and oranges and the Kale Tonic has kale, cucumber, lemon, and fuji apples. Our server said that he loved the kale tonic better because of it's earthy flavor. I'm up for the challenge so I ordered one. OMG I loved it. I even convinced my mother to try it and she didn't turn her nose up and said it was ok. I call that a win in my book. I'd definitely return. The food, service, and atmosphere was great.

The name of the game here is consistency. They whip up tasty fare that somehow feels healthy in a clean, vibrant setting. Egg dishes are uniformly solid, pancakes are better than you can make at home, and they have this one lemon quinoa chicken bowl that is packed with flavor. They leave a pot of coffee on your table and will refill it as much as you like. A nice spot to eat, talk and enjoy.

My first impression of First Watch was a very good one. The breakfast choices look amazing, but we went for lunch so I tried the 2 for you option to sample a few items. The Rueben sandwich was delicious and I would definitely order it again. The pecan chicken salad was probably the best salad I have had in a very long time, perhaps ever. Loaded with bacon, pecans, perfectly cooked chicken breast strips, on a bed of mixed greens, and a spicy Dijon dressing. Priced very reasonably with a delicious brewed sweet tea, this was a perfect lunch. The only thing that would have improved the experience was a little faster service since we were on our lunch hour. I cannot wait to try the breakfast and brunch options, so I will definitely be back and see if I can get a 5-star experience next time.

This place is nothing to write home about. Friendly staff & reasonable prices. But not much to choose from, & food was just okay.
(3)Kimmy B.
Yummy! Good service and fresh food. Great eggs. I wish there was one of these in Gainesville.
(4)Mark O.
Went there with an old Navy buddy for breakfast. Restaurant has nice size and you can spread out a little and not feel like everyone is listening to your conversation. Greeted very quickly and seated. We ordered coffee and the waitress brought out a pot to share. I like this so you can replenish your cup when you need a warmer. I ordered an omelet and so did my buddy. Everything seemed very fresh and on the upscale side. They like to serve food on the healthy side which included a side of leafy greens which was interesting. Definitely 180 degrees away from eating biscuit and gravy. Overall we both were impressed with the service and the food. Breakfast was around $30.00 for both. Planning on going back to try some of the lunch offering's.

On the weekends there is always a long wait in the morning. There food is pretty healthy and they have lots of options. My favorite is the key west crepe. It's has turkey and avocado it's delicious. They have tasty potatoes or you can do a side of fruit. I've also eaten here for lunch and they have good salads. It's really reasonably priced. I've always had a great experience and the staff is always kid friendly.

This was a nice change of pace. I am not a breakfast person so any establishment that will let me eat lunch at breakfast time gets my vote. I met up with my partner in crime and her mom for brunch. Clean bright interior colorful art work on the walls, high top as well as regular tables. They also have community tables if you are adventuresome and not cranky you can eat with strangers. I love this concept, and have met some fun strange souls. The actual menu is much better than the on line version so save your time there. My friend ordered the Key West Crepe Egg. Paper thin creeps layered with eggs, Turkey bacon, avocado and tomato. Served with English Muffin and seasoned potatoes. Mom had the biggest single pancake I have ever seen. With a side of Turkey Sausage. Nice touch, your very own bottle of warm syrup not those hateful little packets many establishments use. This was so appealing to me I am going to make a trip back just to try it myself. Breakfast for me, since Lox and bagels were not an option I picked the next best option, a Ruben actually grilled. This was one of the better Rubens I have sampled here. I chose the mixed greens as my side that was the only mistake of the meal. Wilted looking like an afterthought, it was not appealing. If your a fan of breakfast and chain restaurants this spot may be one of the best options around. If you go on the week end be prepared for a possible short wait and almost guaranteed screaming child somewhere in the mix.

If you stay away from the waffles- it's really good. They must make the waffles beforehand for speed reasons or something. They're always super soggy. Oh well. Every other thing I've eaten there is very good. My favorite breakfast place.
(4)Adam F.
The blueberry pancakes were some of the best pancakes I've eaten in 2 years! Not only is their food delicious but is also fairly healthy.
(5)Michael F.
Plenty of healthy options and great service, but go elsewhere for your pancakes and French toast.

This location this experience was way better than the San jose location. My waitress was so nice and always checking in on us. I didnt even care to use a coupon!. Im addicted tot he Banana Brulee Waffles, they are so good it should be illegal. I ordered that with Eggs well done with cheese. (cause I hate wet ewwwy eggs) They mad it perfect!! I had Family in town so I was hoping for good service and I got it!!! I will be back to the location plenty of times and Ill be a regular!! The ice coffee was really good too! and she even mixed cranberry and orange for my sister to drink!! Love First Watch!!!

Wife and I went for breakfast yesterday. Sevice was slow. I ordered the eggs benidict. Had a strange tangy taste. Wife ordered a sandwich and the egg was supposed to be runny. It wasnt. Coffee was old. Took forever to get the check. It was not busy si we didn't understand the reason it was slow. With the abundance of breakfast spots in jacksonville you would think best foot forward. My wife loves this place but I don't see it. As always make your own opinion. It was very clean however and the bathroom was spotless (for lack of a better word)

I think that First Watch has noticed their mediocre reviews and has stepped it up a notch, here's why... I've come here a couple times, the first time was a weekday for brunch and it was very meh. My husband's skillet wasn't as large as anticipated, my Floridian French Toast was a little cold. I ordered their seasonal drink (strawberry mint cooler) and encountered a glass of nasty syrup, water, ice, and depressed mint leaves. I ended up diluting the heck out of the thing with water and taking it to go. For a place that's supposed to be fresh... what the heck strawberry syrup? :/ I signed up for the Sun eClub (I love free/cheap stuff), and shortly got an email for a free entree with purchase of another. Last weekend we set out to use it, and what could have been an absolute disaster was handled flawlessly by our server, Joe, and manager on duty Margaret. I got tea to drink, they offer a selection of fair trade and organic Bigelow. Kind of bottom of the barrel when it comes to fair trade/organic teas, but I come from hippie capital USA... I digress. My hubby ordered the Chickichanga, and I ordered the Forager Omelette- Egg Whites, sub feta for the swiss. A few bites in, I realized... I was brought the wrong omelette. Now, no big deal right? Remake it and bring out the right one? Wrong- I'm extremely pork intolerant and there was a HUGE piece of ham in there. Luckily, I got just a small piece in my mouth, and noticed before chewing/swallowing and was able to take off to the bathroom to rinse right away. While this was going on, my husband flagged down Joe who came and looked at the menu and agreed that yes- there was NOT supposed to be any meat whatsoever in the Forager Omelette, and took it back straight away. Shortly after I got back from the restroom, Margaret was at the table with a fresh plate- done right this time. Apparently, because I'd requested a different kind of cheese the kitchen got confused and made half of one omelette, and half of the one I had ordered. She apologized profusely, and told me something useful. IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES, tell your server and the kitchen will be notified with a giant red box around whatever you are allergic to. They will change gloves, prep surfaces, and cookware to avoid contamination. They use a lot of avocado here, she said most commonly they have people complain about feeling ill even if avocado wasn't used in their dish- it may have been used in one for a nearby customer. Easy fix, just make the kitchen aware. My meal was comped and we'll be using our buy one get one coupon today, instead. I was told I was welcome to use it even if it expired, and just to give her name. Great customer service. Now back to the food. My omelette was served at the right temperature both times, potatoes done well, and my husband's plate was similarly flawless. The mushrooms in my omelette were the kind advertised- a lot of places will try to sub out whatever mushroom is cheapest, so that was nice to find. My only complaint/concern here is that while yes, everything is cooked fresh to order, the chain seems not to brag about where all their ingredients came from. I've seen Smucker's sugar free syrup on tables, Quaker oats lined up in the kitchen, and my tea came with a tab of Smucker's honey. While their ingredients are fresh, I doubt that they are organic or all locally sourced. So, they're "healthy", yes, but not as much as one may think. I would love to see them head more in that direction in the future. They've already got Gluten Free options and an allergen chart on their website, which is great- maybe soon they'll jump on the Organic/locally sustainable band wagon too.

Excellent breakfast and brunch place, great food and great service will definitely come back, I had the Pecan Salad was very good, a little too much Honey Dijon dressing otherwise it was excellent. The service was fantastic.

I found myself arriving to Jacksonville a little early and was hungry. I quickly turned to Yelp for the best breakfast I could get before getting the errands I had to run done while in town and this was the place that appeared. I had a gut feeling that it was going to work out despite only having ~1 hour before I needed to take care of business, and First Watch did not disappoint. The Space I cannot really comment on the area, as I am not familiar with Jacksonville at all, but the location was incredibly easy to arrive to and ample parking existed (necessarily so, as the place appeared pretty busy). Walking in the decor is colorful and clean, spacious and inviting. They have tables and booths, as well as a community area for those who are willing to meet a new friend in exchange for a quicker dining experience, which was most certainly the case for me. The Service Immediately greeted when walking in the door by a smiling face, I was concerned I might learn nothing was available or that the wait would be incredible for a Sunday. There were no tables available, but the community area had 4 seats and I happily chose this option to have a quick solo breakfast. Both a carafe of water and a pot of coffee were prepared for me so I was never left needing a refill, and when I asked the server what a first-timer should consider she had no issues highlighting some personal favorites. Even more fantastic: I changed my mind about an item right after ordering and ANOTHER server quickly altered my ticket so I did not have to stick with my original choice. The Food Frankly, this area is where the 4 of 5 comes from, and COMPLETELY NOT because of anything tasting bad or wrong either. "As good as it gets!" is what I look for, as Yelp outlines, and I had expectations entering the place for the "best brunch in Jax": -2 eggs, over medium -2 sliced of thick-cut bacon -multigrain cinnamon and cream cheese icing pancake The eggs were cooked correctly, so no qualms there, and the syrup that was brought to the table was warmed to compliment the hot (considerably large) cake. But, and call it being picky if you must, the "thick" bacon was definitely more...just bacon. Tasted fine and it was enough for me, but I had a little more hearty an image in my head by that wording and, with the size, I'd have rather it just been thin and crispy instead of regular and sort of tough. The other critique is definitely NOT in the portion or flavor of the pancake, as it was a really tasty combination, but more the overall consistency of it. The cake was breaking apart in the middle when cutting into it, so it was extremely difficult to actually cut pieces to eat. Add to that all of the syrup and icing being on top, I was getting one bite of everything and then eating the bottom drizzle-less section. Final Thoughts If in the area again I will absolutely consider returning to First Watch because it was incredibly affordable and had a huge variety for anyone in any type of mood. Some reviews harped on service being rough and I could see them getting busy and struggling, but breakfast Sunday morning is crunch time for this kind of place and I was almost shocked at how well taken care of I was. The taste of everything was excellent and I can see this 4/5 increasing with another chance to explore the menu.

We spent our honeymoon in the Jacksonville area and this was actually our favorite meal all week! We were just going for something we thought would be a light lunch, but First Watch quickly turned into a favorite. We got coffee, a giant muffin, and two delicious and fresh meals for about $22 - not bad! Would highly recommend as the dishes are very creative and everything tasted fresh and well prepared.

I visited this cafe after my doctors appointment and was pleasantly surprised. I was quickly seated and offered coffee with the menu and I like the fact that they leave the coffee pot with you after they pour it. After looking over the menu for a few moment I went for the eggs benedict, they offer add ons to jazz them up a bit, so I went for the smoked salmon. They were cooked fantastically. They hollandaise sauce wasn't over powering and the tomato slice added the right amount of acidity to to the richness of the eggs and salmon. It also came with a side of mixed greens that were very lightly dressed and that was an excellent pallet refresher. I also ordered their pineapple cooler; it has pineapple, orange, cucumber, lime and organic ginger. I highly recommend it, I juice fruits and veggies at home and this stuff is the real deal. This visit must have been after a lunch rush because I noticed the floor was a lil crumbly under some tables, however, the table tops were spotless and well set up. I would like to post pictures but I ate it to fast, maybe next time I will post a few.

First Watch is a great healthy, fresh option if your looking for food. I have yet to be disappointed. My most recent visit I ordered the bacon and avocado omelet with potatoes and an English muffin. Everything was yummy but I must say that the English muffins was SOOO GOOD. It was super light and fluffy! I wish I could order those by the dozen! I've also had the power wrap and it was delicious as well. Definitely two thumbs up!
(4)Nicole K.
It is defiantly a popular place. We got there around 9:40 and there was already a 45 min wait. We got into a high top early and waited a usual amount of time for service after sitting down. Coffee was strong (not my fav) but not bad at all. The food choices are great and service was friendly. Only qualms is that our food came out luke warm. Would have liked hot food but it wasn't cold. We will be back but on a less busy day to see if there is a difference. Also! Pumpkin pancakes =winning!
(4)Johnelyn C.
Love going here for brunch when I'm in the area. I love their soup and sandwiches and pretty much everything on their menu. Haven't eaten any I didn't like.
(5)Ouida P.
This is one of my favorite places. Everything I've tried has been delicious but nothing tops the pancakes! They are definitively a new food category called Bre-ssert!! The carrot cake, pecan, and pumpkin pancakes are awesome. The coffee is addictive. You must try the Bacado if you like avocado. Nutshell: Best breakfast I've had yet!
(5)Misty S.
Such a cute and sweet place. Great coffee and yummy food. The servers and hostesses are always friendly and you definitely get more than enough fresh food!! I usually get an egg white omelette or pancakes and I never leave disappointed. Definitely a place we will be coming to for years.
(4)Krizia P.
I loved this place the first time I ate here. Great food & our waiter was awesome. But like all good things.... they END. I came in excited for some delicious bacon & cheese pancakes. But when my BF & I walked in... this is what happened: 1. no one greeted us even though we made eye-contact with SEVERAL waiters/waitresses/servers/etc. 2. even after I grabbed a menu to pick out what I wanted (incase I didn't want a bacon & cheese pancake) we still garnered NO attention. 3. we stood in the entry way waiting to be acknowledged (anything really) for 10 minutes. TEN MINUTES. ^ Now, I understand there may have been some confusion when we arrived. There was a waitress using the register with a two ladies that were paying their bill. The problem: THEY WERE HAVING A FULL ON CONVERSATION. They weren't talking about the food or the service. They were talking CASUALLY. As someone who worked in retail where customer service is key... I have a general rule: I never spend money where workers do NOT greet me. So after 10 minutes I lost my appetite for this place. I will NOT be returning... EVER. to this location anyway.
(1)David C.
First time here, had 2 specials, the shrimp and grits, and Blt Benedict. Both excellent. Service was great. Coffee was absolutely terrible. Will definitely be going back though!

When I think of other brunch and breakfast spots in Jacksonville, like say Mimi's Cafe, I struggle to find how or why First Watch is different or better. That's why I can't give First Watch a rating higher than 3-stars. Don't get me wrong; there is nothing wrong with the food or the service or the cleanliness of the locations, all that is wonderful. I've been there twice and at two different locations - both had incredible food. However, I can't bring myself to give First Watch a higher rating because they don't have anything that makes them better than Mimi's Cafe (in my mind). The first time I went to First Watch, I had the shrimp and grits and it was delicious. It had a little bit too much going on with it (corn and peppers and onions and other stuff), but it didn't take away from the great taste. The second time I went there, I ordered the Monte Cristo, I think, and that was good as well. So, again, absolutely nothing wrong with First Watch, but with the price I'm paying, I thought I would get something a little more memorable or unique about the place.
(3)Cara H.
Excellent service. Convenient location. The food was good. The presentation was decent. The taste was ordinary. The tomatoes were fresh but you cannot taste organic in them. If I were to compare their food with that of La Grande Orange in Phoenix, AZ, I would just give it a couple of stars. The freshly pressed orange juice tasted canned. You can order freshly pressed orange juice anywhere in Amsterdam and the lousiest orange juice there tasted better. A 4 for this restaurant is appropriate in this part of the country that has been eating unhealthy breakfasts for generations and they are among the first to somehow make it a little healthier. Now if only they could make it taste better.
(4)Dawn N.
Great friendly service, Delicious food served quickly and priced well. What more can you ask for?
(4)Terry N.
Clean newer place. Healthy menu and the dishes are well presented. I would recommend for a nice light lunch.
(4)Victoria V.
I have been to the location in Mandarin and I guess I was a little spoiled by it. The food was ok but the service left something to be desired. I tried the shrimp and grits which was on the seasonal menu and it was just ok. They described the dish with cheese grits and I could barely taste the cheese. The shrimp were cooked nicely but overall not the greatest of dishes. As far as the service, I got rather confused as to who our server was cause there was probably 3 to 4 different people who came over to our table. Overall not the worst but more mediocre.
(3)Virginia M.
This reminded me of a healthily Denny's. I had the fruit crepes. The service is really fast here. Come early because there is a wait on the weekends. They do have a coffee station which is nice. I will return.
(4)Tim M.
Great place for breakfast and lunch. Great service and reasonable prices. Good selection on the menu. They usually have good specials during the day.
(5)Patricia F.
We love eating here! Always clean and friendly. Very fresh and delicious menu items , unique too! Good coffee. Reasonably priced. Been here 4 times over a couple of months and have had quality service each time! High Recommended!
(4)Alan L.
A nice place for breakfast. I enjoy the Key West Crepegg. Coffee is just average at best - not really to my liking and i love coffee.
(4)Jean M.
I tried it once and I don't think I will be back. The service was good but the food was ok. The thick bacon was regular bacon and the home fried potatoes were not crispy at all.
(1)Gia C.
Short wait, but definitely worth it! The staff was extremely friendly & the service was great. The food took a little longer than expected, but when it finally arrived, it was outstanding. Try their potatoes. Yum!
(5)Anne-Marie B.
I foresee a review update at some point, because my rating is based off of one visit and a negative service experience and not the food or atmosphere. I know people have "off" days, and there's a learning curve for any job, but I was super annoyed with the service I received when I visited. Before I get into the ridiculousness that caused First Watch to lose a full star in my rating, I need to address the fact that I hate pancakes, but as a good friend of mine regularly says, "my opinions change as the facts change". First Watch made me reconsider my opinion on the matter. Their selection is pretty impressive (both sweet and savory options), and these friggin pancakes are bigger than my torso. Seriously. Their napkin wrappers are also adorable, covered with quirky sayings like, "I love you more than I love bacon". Everyone knows that isn't possible, but it gave me a good pre-coffee chuckle which, let's face it, isn't the easiest task. Overall, the food was delicious, as was the atmosphere until... ...I chose First Watch as a meeting place for a buddy of mine who regularly makes the trek to my side of town. This was my show of gratitude, since this was a good 30 minute drive for me. With that in mind, we decided to make the best of it and hung around for a bit after we were finished with our meal. Evidently, that was not okay. I was a server for several years, so I completely understand wanting to turn tables, but there's a way to encourage people to leave without letting them know that's what you're doing and really, at a certain point, you just have to step back and let your customers enjoy their experience (lest you end up with a nasty Yelp review, eh?). After our actual server came over and harassed us a half-dozen times (at least), another server started coming over in 45 second increments to ask me repeatedly if I wanted a coffee warm-up. Then, the same server walked up to the table with plates of food (as if he hadn't just walked up to our table 8 seconds previously to help "clear" our plates), acting like he'd "accidentally" gone to the wrong table to deliver the food. We got the message loud and clear. They wanted our table for someone else (not that there was a wait at this point). I'm not saying I'll never go back. I'm not even necessarily saying this is the general practice of this restaurant. After all, this was my first visit. I'm simply saying I won't go out of my way to recommend First Watch for my beloved Saturday breakfast gatherings anytime soon. Like I said, I'm sure at some point I'll update my review appropriately, but probably for a while.

This my second time here. Natalia was are server and she was very helpful! Sat us down right away and got us are coffee promptly. ( coffee is a must love it! That is if you like coffee. ) I ordered the cranberry nut oatmeal comes with cranberries, pecans, sliced bananas, low fat milk, brown sugar, and English muffin. It's about 4.99 in a small soup size cup. What I loved is I like my oatmeal done a certain way and she got it on the money which I appreciate greatly! Lots of healthy options which I love, great service, clean and delicious will go again.
(5)Emily C.
Delicious food, fast friendly service. Got the healthy turkey omelet and it was excellent. Will definitely be back
(5)Cristina V.
I have been here several times. This is one of my favorite places to eat because it has a causal, friendly atmosphere, it's not far from where I live, the food is consistently delicious and fresh, the prices are very reasonable, and there are plenty of healthy choices on the menu. Think of it as a healthier, less packed Metro Diner. They have specials written daily on the chalkboard, most of which lately have been holiday-inspired... aka pumpkin-something... lol. But that's okay because I love pumpkin-flavored anything. I had breakfast here this morning with my bf and I ordered the Holiday Tri-fecta (I think) which included 2 eggs, an apple chicken sausage link, and 2 pumpkin pancakes for $7.99. Sausage was okay (but I don't really like sausage that much to begin with so I don't even know why I didn't order a different breakfast meat), but the pancakes were moist and yummy. Their coffee is delicious and they leave the pot on the table for you... they also have creamer available in more flavors than plain half-and-half, e.g. French Vanilla and Hazelnut. If you order water to drink and there are 3 or more people at your table, they'll leave the pitcher on the table for you too. Other items I've ordered in the past that were delicious: Bacado, Avocado Bacon and Tomato Hash, Chickichanga, Pecan Dijon salad, Al B. Core Tuna sandwich. My bf LOVES (understatement) the Chicken Palermo sandwich, but I have not personally tried it. Service over the past several times has been mostly consistent/good, but I think there was one or maybe two times where the server had been a little slow or absent minded... but they seemed like there were in training. Oh yeah, and there's free wi-fi. I love First Watch! Then I always seem to go to Target right afterwards for some reason...
(5)Aunt R.
Absolutely enjoyed the shrimp and grits. They also have great service. I've enjoyed trying new menu items each time I visit.
(5)David H.
This is an excellent breakfast stop featuring a unique and varied menu. I don't like eggs so usually breakfast is a pain but First Watch left me with a variety of menu options. I ordered the cranberry/pecan pancakes (they let you order more than one type of pancake if you order more than one). I had their homemade turkey sausage patty which wasn't greasy and was well spiced. I finished the meal off with some real (non-instant) grits and excellent coffee from the pot they place on every coffee ordering table. No sighing and waiting for a refill here. Service is friendly too so I'll be back here next time I'm in town.
(4)Ray B.
Cold food, poor quality. French toast and omelette was mediocre at best. Slightly better then chain restaurants.
(2)MissMandy H.
We went on a Sunday morning before the church rush and it was exactly what we were hoping for. Clean, open establishment with fresh food. I like the individual coffee and water carafes, especially on a weekend with the potential for a long wait for refills. I got the Bacado, and it was delIcious along with the potatoes. My bf got a Power Wrap with a side of fruit and that too was very tasty he said. The roasted crimini mushrooms are the best part. I only wish the sides of house-made salsa were a bit larger. I can't wait to try the whole wheat pancakes and quinoa bowls. Serving sizes were a little small but more on par with a healthy diet. Overall job well done!
(3)Brad G.
First Watch has become my families go to Sunday breakfast spot. We used to frequent a few other places around town but now that we found our favorite it will be hard to tear us away. First., the food is fresh and you can tell. It's not super greasy and you can tell the quality right away. Second, we go as a family which means we take 3 kids ages 1, 4 & 9. The muffins there are HUGE and they will bring your order out right away if you ask so between the crayons, juice and giant muffins to split it keeps it very peaceful at the table. Last, their menu is very different. You can't go wrong with any of the skillet has options and my wife loves the whole grain pancakes. If you're a big coffee drinker like me, you will love that they leave a fresh pot right on your table so you don't have to keep waiting for a refill. You will not be disappointed here.

I ordered the market skillet with over medium eggs and an iced coffee. The coffee is absolutely amazing. I will be returning just to get a cup I'm sure. The skillet was pretty good. The herbed goat cheese had great flavor and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Not much to complain about except the spoon I was given with my silverware was dirty but, it happens. I'll probably come back and try the specials that everyone raves about.

Clean place, great menu. The pancakes were amazing, especially the almond one. The service was top notch as well. If you are looking for something a little nicer than a waffle house of an IHop this is a great place.

I love the menu at First Watch, it is eclectic and fun. You have lots of healthy choices but also some not so healthy ones if you want to be a little bad. I've tried a couple of their sandwiches and they were very good, I was disappointed in their eggs benedict. It seriously had deli ham on it. Yuck. Skip it and try something different. Also, they don't have a lot of tables so the wait gets long very quickly on the weekends.

My family stopped by for Sunday brunch the other day to experience what everyone had been raving about. I'm a huge fan of 'breakfast at any time' spots and couldn't wait to sink my teeth into some of their signature items. My wife got the Turkey & Avocado eggs benedict, I got the Parma Hash, my daughter the Fruit Crepe, and we shared an order of their blueberry pancakes. The food was fresh and you can taste the quality of their ingredients. My biggest gripe was that the portion size of my hash was so-so and that the bill was a bit large for a brunch meal (around 50 bucks for 2 adults and a child after tip). I'll give them another shot in the future, but there are definitely other breakfast places around town that'll give you more bang for the buck.

This was horrible. Very poor service, very rude hostess. They kept saying they were busy, but they wouldn't clean off the table. They could not get our order right and when they did, it was cold. This was the worst eggs Benedict I've ever had. The English muffin was also hard as a rock. To make matters worse, our meal made us sick to our stomach. I don't understand why everybody rates this place so highly. I have now come to find out that they over charged our debit card by over$40. Stay away

We came here for Mother's day for Brunch. We got there before the crowd so we were seated right away. The food came out quickly and was warm and delicious. I got the Strawberry french toast filled with cream cheese. It was a huge portion and was decently priced. They have a lot of omelet options and even allow you to substitute egg whites and cholesterol-free eggs for no extra charge. Also since it was Mother's day they gave free boxes of chocolate. That was a very sweet touch (which is why I gave it a 5 instead of a 4). I would come back for brunch again!

Went for lunch. Loved the sandwich and greens. I had the roast beef pesto and wife had turkey burger. Both delicious and filling. The sandwiches are unique yet delicious and full of flavor and fresh. I had their 'select' coffee and loved it. They bring you a full pot to refill yourself. You can also buy their delicious coffee at the counter. Was very impressed and want to try their unique breakfast items. Definitely will go back.

It's sad but I just don't like the food here, I try again and again but I just haven't found anything that I like.

Consistently good breakfast & lunch, no matter which location we visit. Can always count on a fresh & tasty meal.

Been here several times and never been disappointed. Favorite breakfast is the Traditional with ham steak or Tri-fecta featuring a multigrain pancake of your choice(pecan is excellent). Do yourself a favor and leave room for a muffin-of-the-day!

Today was my first visit to First Watch. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and brunch, but not for dinner. It is located in one of several outparcels across a large parking lot from an upscale Wal-Mart (yes, there is such a thing), a Miller's Alehouse, and other restaurants. It is in a relatively high-end area (Beach & Hodges) not far from Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. The ambiance is nothing special: simple, uncluttered, with outdoor patio tables. But that's where "ordinary" ends with this restaurant: the service and food quality are top-notch. My college-age son and I went at 2:15 p.m. on a Sunday, not realizing that they closed at 2:30 p.m. To my pleased surprise, our waiter, Eric, seemed not the least bit dismayed by the lateness of our arrival. He was helpful and charming, and did not rush us. The food we ordered arrived swiftly. Now here's the best part: both my son's meal and mine were exceptional! I ordered the open-faced chicken salad (apples, raisins, pecans) sandwich with cheese and tomatoes on toasted multi-grain bread. My son ordered a roast beef and cheddar sandwich called the Beefeater. Both meals came with a small salad with vinaigrette dressing. You could, however, choose a different side, including fresh fruit. Everything about the meal was fresh. My son and I had two different breads on our two sandwiches. My son's was a thick-cut toasted parmesan bread, while my wonderful multi-grain bread was not the wimpy wheat-flour bread you sometimes get at restaurants but a true, hearty, full-flavor multi-grain bread. Both breads were delicious and distinctive. My hard-to-please son said he had not had such a good roast beef sandwich in a very long time. At the end of our meal, I complimented both our waiter and the general manager. Both were gracious and chatted with us about the restaurant chain (hard to believe it's a chain). The breads apparently are specially ordered from a Miami bakery. I suggested that the restaurant consider selling loaves of those breads, as they would likely be wildly popular with the clientele. The experience couldn't have been more positive. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I wanted to try this place because it's a top-ranked chain in Consumer Reports's survey. My first experience was disappointing but I'll give it another chance some time. The setting was simpler than I expected, but decent. The service was friendly. I got in and out of the restaurant fast. I also got more food than I expected (fried potatoes and a tiny fruit bowl with my entree). Those were the pluses. The negatives were that my eggs Benedict was below average and they charged me a lot to add a little ham to it. They had various preparations of eggs Benedict, one of my favorite breakfast dishes, on the menu for $8 or so each. I chose the avocado/spinach one over the ham one but asked if I could have some ham added to it. They added a small amount of sandwich-meat-style ham to it and it wasn't very good. They should have been using the traditional Canadian bacon in the first place, in my opinion. But what upset me is that they added over $3 to my bill for that ham: about 40% of the price of the dish! That's way too much for the amount of meat I got. Also, my poached eggs were very runny; I prefer them to be cooked more. Finally, the fried potatoes were too charred-tasting for me. So overall I was disappointed because I felt overcharged for a below-average rendition of eggs Benedict. I've no doubt that some of their other dishes are better, however, so I'll give the place another chance some day.
