This place is so clean and fresh! You can be put on the waiting list from your phone! I love that they have outside seating area. I came 2 days in a row. They have a variety of breakfast options, juices and healthy items too. The first day I ordered eggs Benedict florentine and it was absolutely delicious and fresh! The plate not only tasted amazing it looked amazing! The 2nd day I ordered the chickichanga..yumm yumm! It was a great breakfast experience overall!

Hubbo and I went to First Watch on San Jose this past weekend to give it a try. We got there around 9:30 on Sunday morning and the place was already almost full. We were lucky to snatch one of the last few open tables. I ordered the French Toast Monte Cristo and hubbo ordered Parma Hash. I also noticed the daily muffin and asked for a lemon poppy muffin. My French Toast Monte Cristo was very tasty. The nice play of salt and sweet plus a side of greens to ease your guilty feeling for ordering something entirly tooooo unhealthy for you is a nice touch lol. The lemon poppy muffin was awesome. Love how the hard crust encasing absolutely moist and delicious cake inside. In fact, it was so good, that it convinced my husband to order a blueberry muffin. His Parma Hash was also very tasty. As for the service, they were quite busy. But we never felt the service was slow nor were we neglected. While our server was not bubbly, she was very efficient and courteous. We will come back to try other dishes.

Just a great choice for a healthy breakfast or brunch. The place is well designed and the food and staff are great. You will visit here many times I am sure. Just try it

This is our weekly brunch venue. The food is delicious and the service fantastic. Many of the servers know our faces and orders upon entry. Can't ask for anything more. Thanks, First Watch!

I really like First Watch! They are always friendly when I have gone there. The waitstaff seems to be on a first name basis with quite a few of the customers. I have heard customers talk about and speak about the employees with warm regard :) That's so awesome. First Watch is in a shopping center but feels like a mom and pop Diner. The energy is very warm and peaceful. The last time that I went to have breakfast there it was super busy because of Memorial Day. They handled the rush quick and efficiently. I was offered to sit at the "Community table" because there weren't any tables left. I hadn't heard of it before that! It was pretty cool though! Its a large tabletop with about 8 chairs. Obviously its for folks who come in by themselves. I gladly hopped up on a barstool and ordered breakfast! During that time I had a really great conversation with an elderly couple :) I really, really like the community table. In this crazy world of our we rarely speak to each other for the sake of being glued to our phones, laptops and what ever electronic you can think of. It was refreshing to me to be able to connect verbally and in person with such sweet people. If you want yummy and healthy food options, friendly staff, warm welcome and great service then give First Watch a try :D

I keep forgetting the name of this place.......I enjoy the food, sometime long waits. I like how they offer you coffee for the people that have to wait. Nice and clean. Nice to get away from the chains.

First visit to First Watch. Restaurant is clean and has metro vibe. The prices are reasonable. The traditional breakfast is multigrain wheat toast, eggs, potatoes, & your choice of bacon, sausage, or turkey sausage. The jelly is served on the plate in a condiment container. I rated it a 3 and will give it a second chance. The food is ok. It didn't leave me with an over exuberant need to have more. Coffee was good, especially if you like it strong.

This place seems to have such mixed reviews, and i can see where it comes from, the staff and the food. The food is delicious! The pancakes are as huge as they say and they are quite tastey. the banana one was good but i dont reccomend that you take them home for left overs, they get to be almost like a thick cake of some sort. The mueseli(sp?) breakfast was pretty good. my 1 year old daughter loved the yogurt and the granola-y mix. my dad had some sort of mexican style-esque omelet called the Acapulco express. quite delicious! I will def be going back to try other omelets. The service was okay not great but not cruddy either. the lady at the register doesnt know how to do math very well but it all got figured out in the end. All in all this place does merit at least one visit. at least once. oh and if your planning on coming here atleast sign up for their sun e club so you can get a buy one get one free offer for the first time you go so whether its good or not it wont hit the wallet so hard but this place isnt too pricey in the first place :-)

Breakfast was good.

They have quinoa ! and it was tasty. A friend and I were in the shopping center and were starving ! We had heard good things about this place. The decor is super happy and fresh looking. See pics. The waitress seemed very distracted when we were there, she only had 2 tables but kept forgetting to bring us things we asked for ??? Like water and to refill our water we had to ask several times. My ice tea was not refilled at all. BTW the glasses are very small here and 3/4 filled with ice. And utensils ...really ? The food was all really good and I will be giving them another try. Anybody can have a bad day right.. And it's really close to my firends house So stay tuned

I have eaten here for meetings a couple of times. The service was great. This is a nice casual place to to eat for breakfast and lunch. The crepes are my favorite!
(4)Sarah D.
Food = amazing! Best breakfast I've ever had. Ever. Only complaint is our server-- wasn't friendly and seemed annoyed by any questions or requests. And wish there was more seating.
(4)Brooke N.
Always consistent good breakfast. Only complaint is the kitchen is quite slow for this location. Because of the slow kitchen they take their time seating you. Tons of wait staff and several empty tables but you still have to wait 10 min. Food was also luke warm when served.

I didn't see how this place was any different than a McDonald's but with a healthier marketing presentation to attract customers. I ordered a veggie grill and a pecan dijon salad. The veggie grill had a nice flavor of vegetables but the bread was saturated in butter it defeated the whole purpose of a healthy lunch option. The chicken salad was pitiful. One - iceberg lettuce always equals disappointment but beside that my real issue was the chicken on the salad. The menu claims to have all natural all white meat chicken. OK yes, before they process the heck out of it. It had the fake grill marks on the chicken and clearly came from a bag. I've never been here for breakfast and am going to assume it's just like eating at IHOP or Dennys.

Coffee was bitter. Ordered market hash. The potatoes weren't cooked, too much cheese and the veggies were mushy. No one at my table thought the breakfast was great. Not worth the wait. Won't return. The server was nice.
(2)David O.
Had the Chickichanga. It was great. Service was awful and slow. Do not eat here if you're in a hurry.

Heard good reviews on Yelp and went to check it out today. This place got me sick. The Baja Turkey burger was smothered in mayonnaise, had barely any salsa, and was made with a disgusting, slimy frozen turkey patty, which I'm sure was the culprit. The soup had a really strange after taste, which is even more disappointing considering it's the only regular soup on their menu. Service was okay. Nothing remarkable, and I was kind of annoyed that she left the coffee pot on our table considering the tables are so small. Even if I hadn't gotten sick from eating there, I would have never gone back. "Healthy Superfoods"? Right. Because healthy comes from a freezer and a tin can and costs $12 a person. Try the Panera next door instead.

We were invited to attend a foodie dinner at First Watch in Mandarin on Tuesday night. Since First Watch is on my "to try" list, I was very excited to get the invite! The restaurant is a Breakfast/Brunch place. It normally closes at 2:30, but they opened up at dinnertime just for us. We were treated to anything on the menu, so I went with the Sensational Skillet with Ham and Mushrooms (skillet includes potatoes, eggs, and cheese). I got my eggs scrambled and the meal came with an English Muffin and fresh fruit (which I did not get). Everything was outstanding! The potatoes were cooked nicely and the cheese was melted all over the top. Everything went well together and tasted wonderful. The only slight issue I had is that the ham and mushroom content was very low. I counted 4 mushrooms in the whole skillet. My husband got 2 Chocolate Chip Pancakes with a side of bacon. I'm glad he didn't get 3 because the pancakes were huge! The menu warned us, but I still didn't believe it until the food came out. Seriously, dinner plate size! Ivan said the pancakes were very good and the middle had a high concentration of chocolate so it tasted like a cookie. When our food came out, the servers also brought a BLT to our table. At first I thought it was a mistake, but they said that they wanted us to try their lunch options as well. The BLT had (in addition to the usual) a fried egg, cheese and mayo on multi grain bread. After taking one bite, we both said that this was the most delicious sandwich we have ever had. We aren't sure if it was the egg or the cheese, but something kicked this sandwich up a notch. We were both extremely full and ready to go home and lay down...then the dessert came! The servers started bringing out Fresh Fruit Crepes - thin, sweet crepes wrapped around fresh fruit (bananas and strawberries), topped with low-fat organic strawberry yogurt, granola, cinnamon and sugar. For me, the best part was the homemade granola. It was sweet and crunchy and complimented the sauce. I managed to eat half of the crepe before I had to quit. My husband claimed that he was also about to bust, but he ate the rest of mine anyway. I liked the look of the restaurant, it was very open and inviting. One cool thing is that you can see right into the kitchen from every table. To me, that shows that they have nothing to hide!

Back again. Can't get enough of this place. Every dining experience here has been good.
(5)Donna O.
Consistently great food, fresh, cooked to order and served quickly. Great specials in the chalkboard that are tasty and healthy. Had pumpkin pancakes yesterday and cranberry nut, a personal favorite. Glad they are in the neighborhood for breakfast and lunch!

First Watch is known for its healthy and good for you menus. The dining area is a large open area with booths along the end walls and tables for four and larger parties. The large size of the room with high ceiling and sound reflecting walls and tile, made for a noisy environment. There is a patio with tables for dining in warm weather. Upon entering we were greeted and seated. In addition to the printed menu, the daily specials were listed on a large chalkboard on the wall. The menu has a large number of breakfast dishes to include assorted crepes, pancakes, waffles, salads, fruit bowls and health food mixes like quinoa and kale. I had the Key West Crepeggs which was stuffed turkey, crimini mushrooms, bacon, avocado, tomatoes and Monterey Jack cheese. It was topped with sour cream and a side of salsa. Included was an English muffin and seasoned potatoes. The result was mouthwatering delight. The mix of flavors was outstanding. My wife had the Tri-Athlete Omelet, substituting cholesterol free eggs for the customary egg whites. The omelet was stuffed with roasted Crimini mushrooms (which appears on many of the healthy dishes), onions, tomatoes and green chilies. It was served with an English muffin and fresh fruit. We were offered water in either a glass or a pitcher. Coffee, a trademarked Select Premium Blend was served in a large carafe that was more than sufficient for the two of us. Wi-Fi internet access is available for free. Our server was very attentive and quickly provided our coffee, came back to take our order and another server delivered our hot meal. Our server continued to check on us as see if there was anything else we needed. The meal was wonderful and the price reasonable. The restaurant, a chain, continues to deliver fresh and healthy menus with a very friendly and customer attentive staff. It is only open for breakfast and lunch, but everything on the menu is available during the entire operational day.

This place is amazing!!! The food is always fresh and delciously yummy. I've only had the Floridian French toast and egg white melets. I have to say, ohhhh mahh gooshh, that first bite was mhmm mhmm good :) it is my favorite place to go for brunch! I would definitely come back here again and again to try all their food!
(5)Nic R.
Amazing food lousy service...lots of healthy choices...but they seem to bring the food as the cook it and not when everyone in your party's food is ready...this happens to me when I bring a large group or just a table for two.
(3)Raiza R.
We come here for breakfast over 3 times a week. It's our new breakfast location. The food is fantastic! The coffee is very strong. It's a mix between colombian, mexican and one other type of coffee bean so its intense (If you don't like strong coffee I suggest the tea, they have great tea). I get the muesli which comes with strawberries and yogurt (Healthy and light) I like to add the side of fruit which has pinapple, grapes, melon, etc. We sometimes get the Farmhouse Chicken Hash which is Amazing! Their ingredients are high quality and usually very fresh. They have great healthy options, or great options for your meaty, bacon craving. As well as amazing, unique options to cure anyone's sweet tooth! They have very sweet waitresses, you just need to make sure to tell them everything you need and they'll happily get it for you. We'll be back tomorrow for breatfast

Good food - subpar service Pros - the food was very good. I had the Tri-fecta® Two eggs, pancake, bacon. The eggs were perfectly cooked, bacon was crisp without being over cooked and the pancake was great. I could not have asked for more. The cons - The coffee was very bitter (not strong - I like strong coffee) and burnt tasting, I know the difference. It had been sitting way past when coffee should be served. Our server Kim rushed us on ordering; asking us if we were ready to order before we had opened up the menu and it went downhill from that point. She seemed to be checked out already and thinking about the labor day party she was attending later in the day. I have nothing against the food; it was very tasty. However the service and coffee wil keep me from returning especially with Beach and Mero diners so close.

Luv this breakfast!!!! Avocado tomatoe hash!!!!!! Heaven in ur mouth
(4)Aaron K.
Nice selection of healthy breakfast items. Moreover the place was clean and the server was friendly. I might make it a routine.
(4)Mike S.
Food was good but like others have said the service is not the greatest. The staff was generally friendly but service was very slow and we had to ask for the same items several times before we received them. The wait staff was pleasant but you could tell they were stressed and unorganized which negatively affected their service.
(3)Marcus R.
This a was cool little spot that we found in Jacksonville Florida. It seems to be a franchise that focuses on fresh healthy options for breakfast. I had the wheat germ French toast (thumbs up) and my wife had egg white burrito...(not so much). Other than that, the service and atmosphere was great. I'd good back and advise her to stick to the basics!
(4)Cassie F.
Any place that offers more than one breakfast with bacon AND avacado has my vote! If you can get Natalie as your waitress that just adds a start to your experience. It's so nice to have someone who is upbeat and happy and adds a little happiness to your day start you out! Great "I don't want to cook - but I want a homemade breakfast" place to go!
(5)Brad P.
Normally, very attentive, service was lacking this time. The veggie omelet was very tasty, but the home fries were half-cooked. I waited 15 minutes for the waitress to check back with me, but she never came. I finally gave up, paid and left, having barely touched them.
(2)Luda N.
Went here with my in-laws for breakfast and the food was amazing! Great creamer variety for the coffee. Will def visit again!
(5)Dave L.
Carafe of coffee left at table. Pitcher of water at table. Awesome service huge portions good food. Chickichanga was awesome. There was more than ample staff to handle a steady crowd. The child portion is the actual size of a child!!! Absolutely will return! Manager stood in the middle of the floor monitoring all service!! What? Real service and guest pleasing??? That still happens? It does at First Watch!
(4)Rita M.
My favorite breakfast spot! The coffee is strong, just the way I like it. Everything I have tried is great! The pancakes, the French toast, the iron man wrap, the crapes, eggs Benedict Florentine (ask to have the Spinach sautéed or it will come raw), the beefeater sandwich ...you can't go wrong!
(5)Frank V.
Went on 03/07/2013, the food was excellent and the coffee was strong. The waffle was light and flaky. The avocado/tomato/bacon hash skillet (wife's plate) was great in spite of no gravy. Service was excellent. No complaints and will definitely go again.
(4)Scott O.
The food here is really good, I've never had anything I wouldn't order again and the ingredients always taste fresh. Inside is very clean and I have always had good service. If you order the chocolate chip pancakes you better be hungry is all I can say, they give you 3 plate size pancakes and they're excellent. The soups and sandwiches are really good as well and include plenty of healthy choices. All in all it's a great place to take the family to eat breakfast or lunch.
(5)Michael W.
Clean, friendly, healthy, lots of choices, great tasting, reasonable prices. Looking forward to going back!

Sometimes you just want to go out and have someone else cook you breakfast. Today was no different. We have tried many of the local breakfast places and decided we wanted a change of venue. I had heard about First Watch from a friend and was intrigued by the desire of the restaurant to cook healthy foods and use local suppliers whenever possible. The place is decorated in a simple manner, but it is clean and bright which are always a good thing. We were greeted by the server with a carafe of hot coffee, which was just what at least my husband needed. I am not a coffee drinker, but he was pleased for that to be served as if they had read his mind. :) The menu has many unique food creations and as I perused the menu there were a few things that caught my eye. I will need to go back to try the others, but this day I chose the Avocado, Bacon, and Tomato hash with two eggs over easy piled on top. The potatoes were seasoned well, and it was perfection on the plate as the bacon flavored the potatoes even more with scattered pieces of bacon, enough for almost every bite to have bacon (bacon makes everything better). They served an English muffin on the side with fresh strawberry jam. It was very tasty. We didn't have the best service there, which made for it not to be the best experience ever but the food was delicious and we will make this one of our stops for breakfast when we are on this side of town. For those who are looking for healthier options their menu does have yogurt parfaits, egg white omelets, and other interesting and unique items so you can bring everybody with you and all would be happy! :)
(4)Cameron S.
The food here at First Watch is mediocre. I ordered oatmeal and pancakes, and nothing was spectacular at all. The portions are nothing like metro diner, almost too small for some items. After my pancakes, I ended up ordering oatmeal because I wasn't filled up at all (I had gone on a long run that morning, which is why I was hungry). Not only were the portions somewhat skimpy, but it was overpriced given the portions. Overall, I would recommend anyone to go to metro diner instead. You get more food, for a lower cost (plus the food is a lot better)
(2)Vanessa T.
Just wow, this was really good food! We looked at each other like why haven't we been coming here more often!? Maybe it was because we were really hungry, but me and hubby really liked everything here. This place is cute and always busy, they are only open for breakfast and lunch which tells me they doing something right if they don't have to stay open all hours to make money. I liked that they will text you when you when your table ready. Ours was ready in under the quoted time. Our server was very nice and brought our food out quickly, even with them being pretty busy. I got the elevated egg sandwich... Sunny side up egg, bacon, cheese, arugula, and mashed up avacado on a softer pretzel kinda bun, it was very tasty and I liked the different approach to a basic egg sandwich. We also got the bacon omlet, cooked perfectly great flavors...probably the best thing about the meals was the grits! These grits were so freakin good!! They tasted like they has cream cheese mixed in? They were bowl licking good!! Pancakes were good, nothing to rave about but good dessert. We will definitely be back soon!
(5)Richard H.
After reading reviews and seeing pictures from other Yelpers, I wanted to give them a shot. Well I was greeted right away and seated soon after. My server gave me a few suggestions based on what other customers ordered on a regular basis so I decided on the ChickiChanga with a side of Fresh Fruit and Seasoned Potatoes. The chicken inside had great flavor and the queso had just enough spice and smoky flavor to really bring it all together. The potatoes were cooked perfectly crisp as I requested and I am definitely a future regular customer of this establishment.
(4)Aaron S.
If you're looking for a great breakfast, brunch, or lunch spot in mandarin, then you owe it to yourself to try out First Watch... It's a bit on the lighter side, but the price is right and the portions are perfectly satisfying! Definitely found a new place that I really enjoy!
(5)Brandie D.
Perfect little place with a variety of healthy yet filling choices. Service was fast and food came out on point. There's also an option to sit outside. I'll definetly be back.
(4)Chris K.
Sat outside, great service. Excellent breakfast!!
(4)Chris G.
My wife and I love first watch for breakfast. It's healthier than the good ole greasy spoon we normally frequent. I think they have the best coffee around and love the fact the they leave the coffee pot at your table along with a pitcher of water. I can have as little or as much as I want...genius! I normally order the trifecta and find their blueberry wheat pancake to be incredible. My wife enjoys their French toast. It's really a great place with great service and food.
