A breakfast and lunch place in the former Crazy Egg location. I walked in expecting it to be Crazy Egg, in fact, one of the servers was wearing a Crazy Egg shirt. I noticed right away that there were no desserts in the display case up front, which was the first clue that things had changed. The service was a bit confused during my visit, but it was clear the staff was trying hard. I stopped in expecting to order the "chicken parm" and three veggies, and discovered it was no longer on the menu. There are two pages of breakfast items, and a page of lunch items, mostly sandwiches, but liver/onions, meatloaf, and country fried steak are also on the menu. I ended up ordering a cheeseburger, and credit where due, it was very tasty. They are now accepting that green credit card, which was a plus for me. Pricing was about the same as before, but meals now come with only one side. I'm giving three stars for now, and will go back expecting "Edgewood Diner" and not "Crazy Egg" to see if that changes my mind. (If you've not followed my reviews, I grade tough. I do not award five stars simply because a place didn't use red-hot tongs to gouge out my eyes. I don't think I have ANY 5-star reviews, currently,) Wishing much success to this new venture.

It's pretty much the same as the Crazy Egg. The Egg was a staple of middle of the road diner. The newly branded Edgewood Diner doesn't improve on the model. Foods pretty good, service is decent to good. No complaints, but no real reason to come running back.

See my review for Crazy Egg... I didn't like Crazy Egg and I came here because I thought it was different. I was tricked. It's just a different name. Same crappy menu, same look inside, and I'm pretty sure nothing is made there. I will not be going back. No one is going to trick me again!

This was my first time eating at Edgewood Diner since the recent change in ownership. I'm not a huge breakfast person, but when I go--I Go Big. They do have a pretty good sized pecan waffle that's very tasty served with mixed berry topping and real whipped cream when asked. I use to go to WH for my pecan waffle served exactly the same way ten years ago, but they no longer offer the strawberry topping and whipped cream as options there. Total bummer. To my surprise, I was happy to try Edgewood Diner's version. I was super happy with the flavor and pleased with our attentive server. As an added bonus, the coffee seems to be way better than the coffee served when it was Crazy Egg. The new version tasted bolder than my prior visits--the way a good diner should offer their fresh brew to customers. Bravo, new owner! I love my coffee. Of course sweet must be balanced with savory so I had a side of bacon (cooked perfectly crisp like I like it) and scrambled eggs with cheese (also delicious) with my waffle. TOTAL COST: About $10....not cheap, but not too pricey for the amount of food you get. Overall, the atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The food was solid and a good value. Outside seating available and since it's walking distance to my house, I know I'll definitely be back. Love the improvements. I'm giving them 4-STARS.

I love the diner. The staff are friendly and the food is tasty. I love coming here for breakfast on the weekend. I definitely recommend the cornbread waffles with sausage gravy.

I ate here before when this place was the Crazy Egg. I didn't much like it then and I surely didn't like it today. I walked in and the same 2 servers were still there. It has been a couple of months now since they opened. The wifi is still the same and the coffee cups still say Crazy Egg. I guess when your business is really doing poorly you burn your suppliers and slap a new name on the door and go at it again. My chili omelette was straight out of a can and the hash brown casserole was yesterday's hash browns. That's what you do when you have a bunch of stuff left over. Now you know things are bad when you hear the waitress tell folks coming in sit wherever you want. There is always plenty of tables open here. So I'm heading back down the road and get a descent breakfast.

Went there today for breakfast, expecting it to be Crazy Egg and even though I saw the name had changed, we went in anyway, to give it a try. I had gone there after searching for "great egg benedicts" and crazy egg scored high for those. Like the other reviewer, I also noticed that the coffee cups still say "Crazy Egg" and also the servers were all wearing "Crazy Egg" shirts. I ordered the "Text-Mex" Benedict and my gf ordered the Corned beef hash combo. For the Tex-Mex Bennie, it was the only one where it said on the menu "eggs made to order" rather than the traditional poached. So I ordered it with over medium eggs, smoked sausage and it stated "cajun hollandaise" sauce on top of a waffle. First, not sure how the name "Tex-Mex" is related to the dish at all because there is nothing Tex or Mex about it and even though I ordered "over medium" the eggs came poached (which was ok by me) and the sauce was traditional, not cajun. ALL that said... the dish was amazingly delicious and I would go back for it! My gf got the house made corned beef hash combo with 2 over medium eggs and she said the eggs were cooked perfect and very tasty however the corned beef hash, while tasted alright, had a very low corned beef to hash brown ratio. We both would go back again.

I believe this is my first one star review but I can't think of any reason to give the Edgewood diner anything above one star. We arrived around 1:15 and the place was very busy but we were sat within a few minutes. Things started ok initially but went downhill pretty quickly. After ordering our food we waited a half an hour before asking about how much longer it would be (eggs and country fried steak breakfast skillet). We were informed the kitchen was backed up. After another 15 minutes of waiting (45 minutes total) we asked again. We were told we were the third ticket on the line. Shortly after our waitress came back and said there was no wheat toast left. Finally an hour after ordering our food arrived and it looked terrible. I made the effort of trying it and the food was barely warm and the bacon didn't even look like bacon. One of the cooks (not sure if an owner) came from the kitchen and was apologizing to us and several other tables for the wait. We advised him that the food wasn't good and we weren't going to eat it but we would pay for the coffee. He said Not to worry about paying for anything. At this point we left the waitress a tip (not sure what for but we didn't want to be mean about the whole situation) and left. The wait for food was an hour, the food was not good at all, and there was little to no communication to us or the other tables about what was going on in the kitchen. I won't be back.
