Not to be confused with Yummy Sushi which is right nearby, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Service was super friendly and attentive. Stopped here for lunch and the rolls were pretty good. The sweet potato roll was an interesting surprise; I wasn't sure whether to get it but the server mentioned it and I got it as part of the lunch special, and was pretty tasty. Location is a little confusing, on the side of Publix (not facing the main road).

Reliable lunch place for me. Have been going Crazy for years. I only go for lunch though and my needs are simple. Salmon roll and crispy salmon skin and cucumber roll. Clear soup, ginger salad. I never order sushi with cream cheese on it no matter where I am. On a bagel? Fine. But don't touch my fish! I did try the sandwich roll on the back page once. Too much rice in my opinion but it didn't stop me from unintentional carb loading. I finished it. Then I took a nap. The service has never been stellar but neither has it problematic for me. I don't argue with a tasty $7 sushi lunch (soup, salad, two rolls). I just eat it, and happily.

I have been "Crazy" about this sushi for several years now because the food is always great and so fresh. The portions are fair and the service is average. This family owned restaurant is very relaxed and obviously has great chefs. Unfortunately what it doesn't have is a cleaning crew for the bathrooms Floors and surrounding areas. Last week the smell by the restrooms were awful and the back door and supply cabinet were begging to be cleaned. I'm not really sure why there's storage in an open area by the bathroom but they need to clean it up. Not something you want to see in a restaurant but otherwise great food

My wife and I go here about once a week for lunch, and this is probably one of my favorite sushi places in the area. The price is very reasonable, and their sushi are also reasonably sized (unlike Yashi Sushi). They always give you both soup (clear or miso) and salads (Ranch or Ginger) with your meal, and I'm always full when I leave this place. You really do get the best bang for the buck as far as sushi go. The only complaints I have is that their raw sushi are not very good, and they put excessive cucumbers in most rolls unless you tell them otherwise. Moreover, they overkill the rolls with cream cheese at times. I have also had their lunch hibachi and tempura, and they were mediocre at best. If you want good hibachi, then I would go to Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse at the Town Center (but they're also pricey). Overall, they don't have the best sushi or hibachi, but they have really good portions and great prices.

The sushi here is awesome and great price. My fiance and I had the caterpillar roll, crunch roll, cold roll and spicy tuna! One of my favorite parts about this place is you also get salad and soup (miso or clear) with your meal. All very tasty and you will enjoy it and want to come back for more!!!

Ordered for the first time and was impressed how awesome their rolls are and how decently priced they are! Their fried rice was amazing as well. Love love this place!!!

Sushi was decent quality and service was awesome. 3-stars only due to ratio of fish to rice. Very VERY little fish in their rolls. Mostly rice. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Ordered a salmon roll and an eel roll. Had to literally look for the eel and the salmon was minimal. All in all though I'd try it again and maybe order something different.

This place has some pretty good off menu prices. Came in and ordered a beef lo mein which was about $8.50 and we literally got a steak hibachi that was all mixed together with veggies and steak on a plate. My daughter really got her fill on that one. We also ordered the chicken fried rice large which was about $7.50 ish and i swear no matter how much rice i ate, i felt like i couldnt make a dent in the plate. My husband got a few rolls which were pretty tasty but nothing extraordinary. The noodles and rice were a bit greasier than they needed to be but overall they were good on flavor. The staff was friendly enough, they did what they needed to get done but didnt go out of their way. They even brought out the check before realizing that my husband wanted the tempura ice cream, ouch! Felt like they were trying to kick us out before the dinner crown arrived. What im trying to say is that the service is pretty non-existant. If you want something you better ask for it as soon as they bring you your food because if you dont you might not get it later on. They did win some extra points because they took their own money pages coupon off my mobile device so it was good to get some last minute savings on a spur of the moment type of place. I'm sure ill go back during dinner time and see if their service would improve.

Hands down my favorite sushi place in Jax. Always have friendly staff and there is something about their sweet tea that I love! They also have the best Gyoza and Gyoza Sauce!! Believe me there is an art to Gyoza sauce and most places miss the mark but it is spot on here! I usually ask for it to go along with any tempura items I order because it's just that good! I went tonight with my vegetarian roommate which means I get to try some different things I would never order for myself. For example fried tofu. The texture was good but I found the tofu itself a bit bland, this was easily rectified with a quick dunk in the Gyoza sauce along with some shrimp and eel sauce just to mix it up. If you've never tried the fried Gyoza, do yourself a favor and go for it! - (very similar to TGI Fridays potstickers.)

Sushi is good but fish isn't fresh. I would probably recommend going to another place that has better sushi. They offer free miso soup and salad for lunch.

Favorite sushi ever. Seriously, the best. I've had sushi all over and this is my favorite. This is my 'go to' sushi place. I am so lucky I live right next door. It's almost too convenient. Love!

Service was bad. Server dipped her finger in all of our clear soups and soup was cold. Found a long peice of trash in my mothers shrimp sauce. Ruined her meal and the place is just not as good as it use to be. Place has gone down hill for a long time. Not ever coming back and this use to be my favorite sushi joint.

Service was prompt, servers were attentive & nice. Atmosphere is casual & relaxed! Ordered my food, came with soup & salad that were out to me in less than 5 minutes & the rest of the meal kept coming in perfect timing! I ordered some sushi & a few rolls & the waitress asked, "would you like shrimp sauce?" Ummmm.... my mind quickly raced.... What is this shrimp sauce you speak of? I said, "yes please!" Okay the sauce is the most delicious sauce there is to go w/ some of the rolls! If you are here ask for a side of shrimp sauce it's on the house! Great experience! When I'm back in the area I'll return to Crazy Sushi! By the way the food tasted fresh & was delicious!

My family and I have been Crazy Sushi regulars for years. The restaurant recently expanded into the space next door effectively doubling the seating area. The decor is nice, Asian inspired, and comfortable. As a person who has an aversion to raw fish, I love that there is a wide selection of cooked sushi rolls I can try. Frankly, this restaurant got me started trying different rolls and I've yet to be disappointed. This most recent visit was to celebrate a family member getting a new job (yay!!). We ordered veggie tempura to start. for dinner each of us got an assortment of rolls. I tried two new ones for me - the pink lady and the tempa bay. The pink lady had crawfish and crab mixed with sauce wrapped on soy and fried. Interesting flavor, a little heavy, but tasty. The tempa bay was white fish, cream cheese and cucumber. I really enjoyed this one. I also love the sweet potato roll - a carb fried and wrapped in carbs. What's not to love? Both members of my family got the Florida roll - a California roll covered in cooked scallops. They love it! I snuck a bite of the Kani crab salad roll and enjoyed it. Crazy sushi also offers standard dishes - teriyaki chicken, katsu, etc. everything I've ever tried has been hot, well made and flavorful. I always need a to go box because portions run large. My first visit years ago, my waitress was no nonsense and if you asked for a fork, she clarified saying you need a shovel. While only chopsticks are on the table, they will bring you a shovel should you need one.

The first time we went here it was pretty good. People seem to give this spot much praise -- I find it clean, well staffed and overall a good experience, however I'm not going out my way to go here. I'd actually rather swing by Whole Foods and pick up sushi. Tonight all of our rolls had cream cheese in them, but it was a bit overbearing (simply not appetizing) A solid sushi spot, I'm not going out of my way to go here nor is it my first choice for sushi but definitely worth a visit.

The best lunch deal for sushi on the southside. There are other places but for the price this place is the best! For $7 you get two basic rolls off a pretty good short list, salad and soup. You cannot beat that in my opinion. I would have taken a picture but it was so yummy I ate it all! The salad is always fresh and crunchy. Shrimp sauce is also flowing! Staff is nice and attentive and service is fast. Unless you are going to a big sit down place for your meal this is the next best thing you could do. Believe me you will not be disappointed.

.Having been to a different sushi place a few nights prior, this place was just so so in my opinion. Nothing great but not bad. Waitress was super confused. Was kind of a bizarre experience.

Went here for the first time yesterday on my lunch. The lady up front gave me some suggestions when I told her it was first time the rest. My eel and avocado roll was amazing. They forgot the spicy mayo, but it was still good without! Will definitely be back soon!

So I ate here the other day because of the great reviews they had on yelp. I had the seaweed salad and the chirashi bowl. I love to eat sushi and this place didn't disappoint me. The seaweed salad was very tasty and not too hard to eat. Most places the seaweed is really hard to chew. I five that a 9/10. The chirashi bowl listed that it came with 16 pieces of sushi. I thought to myself.. wow that is a lot. Turns out they cut a normal size sashimi into 2. It was still very good. The salmon tasted really fresh. The presentation could look nicer. That's about it.

Love, love, love this place! I've been going to Crazy Sushi for years now. One of my favorite sushi restaurants in Jacksonville. The homemade ginger dressing they put on their salad is like no others. I used to buy it separately for my own salads I make at home since its so good. There's so many delicious rolls to try. The Cold Roll is very refreshing since its wrapped in cucumber. I love the sushi sandwich since it has a little bit of everything (spicy tuna, eel, salmon, avocado) that's layered so it's not your typical roll. A few other good ones are caterpillar (if you like fresh seaweed), Florida roll (cooked), spicy octopus, EST roll, and Snow White. There's so many other ones but those are just a few that I order on a regular basis. I definitely recommend trying Crazy out if you love Sushi! You won't be disappointed.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Jacksonville! I have yet to find a place better than this. I always order the Crunch roll and a spicy tuna roll while my husband orders the spicy red rose and sakura rolls. We typically start off with clear soup and salads with ginger. Crazy Sushi is always busy but I have never had to wait to be seated since they expanded....which makes my experience even better when i go. The wait staff are very pleasant and the sushi is always made exactly how we ordered it and quickly. We even took our French exchange student here and the waitress was very patient as we had to translate what was in the rolls to out student. She even brought other diners orders to show her what each looked like. We go here at least once every other week and I don't see that changing any time soon.
If you love Japanese food this is the real deal. They're sushi is so freakin delicious I swear it sets it apart from all other Japanese restaurants I've been too. I recommend their grilled salmon teriyaki with either steak, chicken, scallops, or shrimp. Get the combo so you can try a little of everything. It's grilled to perfection and the teriyaki sauce omg it's perfect. Not runny or too thick. You can really savor with each bite. I have been to this restaurant for a decade now and I have seen many other restaurants come up but none are as good as this. Plus pricing is decent. I can't go on about the food because I have tried basically everything and the whole menu is just that good. They don't have a cooking show apart from other Japanese restaurants but their recent extension improved the place overall. Trust me from a Japanese food addict. If you want the best sushi in Jacksonville, this is it!

Order pick up quite frequently from crazy sushi and my girlfriend and I love it. Dining in is great also because they always have enough staff for the business to operate smoothly with great customer service. My go to sushi place near my house.

The food was average. Disappointing because of the numerous reviews raving about the food. The portions were generous, but when the food is lacking in flavor it doesn't really matter the portion size was large. The service was slow. The waitress never asked how the food, offering soda refills after we finished. Only 2 other tables so I'm not sure why we never saw her.

Excellent sushi!!!!! Enough said! It got a 4 star rating due to awkward service. Had multiple waitresses ask the same question over and over....and we had no idea which sushi roll was which! But it was good! Also, soup and salad is free! :)

This is our go to spot for Sushi in Jacksonville. The food is priced well. The food is always great. And you really walk out of there with a full stomach and a happy wallet. We typically splurge on the edamame and the gyoza and two or three sushi rolls. The only thing I feel they can improve on is the service. Nearly everytime we go we have to flag down a server when/if we need something.. Being regulars this is really an annoyance.

My server was very prompt, nice and even helped me with my order. I had the Jaguar, Tampa Bay and the Nobody Home rolls. The Tampa Bay is baked and the Nobody Home is tempura deep fried. It was my favorite of the three. My only tip is to make sure to eat it first as my last two pieces were too cooled off and had a stale bite to them. But the first part of the roll was delicious. The only downside was that do not have any baked muscles and I was craving muscles.

Some of the best sushi I've had in Jax to date! PARTICULARLY accommodating to large groups. Any time my friends and I have a birthday, this is our place of choice to celebrate. Happily and easily takes care of groups of 16+. Everyone is always pleased with delicious food and fantastic, friendly service! Some of my faves are the tuna tataki, and the salmon skin rolls!

Great sushi! You can tell they put a lot of effort on getting quality fish. Giving them 4 stars because at the end they did not ask if we want anything else (like dessert) and just brought the check.

My family has been eating their top notch food since early years of spring breaking here in Jacksonville . Now as a resident, we can't get enough of Crazy Sushi!!! We have tried everything on their menu and nothing has disappointed us. Very friendly staff whether dining in or taking out.

Best sushi in Southside! I have been here at least once a week since last month. Their rolls are expertly prepared and the fish is super fresh. I always order the miso soup and the fried wontons to start. The wontons are always crispy and hot! While the miso never disappoints. I usually get about 3-4 rolls to share with another friend. The spicy tuna and salmon are a must! You should also try the crystal roll (my personal favorite) and the EST. The only downside is that service is either a hit or a miss. The servers tend to completely forget about you or they smother you uncontrollably. Either way, don't let that stand in your way of sushi heaven.
(5)
Edward G.
Although there's a lot of rolls, there seems to be not much variety of ingredient (love cream cheese? This is the place for you). Also not many veggie rolls. Rolls were not tightly assembled but had good flavor. Very friendly staff.

Love Love Love this place! Menu selection is awesome, food is phenomenal, and service is usually great. Been there many times and very consistent. Would highly recommend. Wish they had more jax locations because I would eat there almost daily if it were a little closer! Try the cold roll if you like fresh cucumber sushi rolls with no rice.

Best sushi in Southside! Staff is always friendly and polite, the service is relatively fast. They give free soup and salad if you order a certain amount (I think 2 rolls). They have this sushi sandwich which is really filling and delicious, also unique. Now that I live in Mandarin I am definitely missing this place, but will come back when I'm in the area.

This is our favorite sushi place in Jax. My husband is more of a sushi person than I am but one of the servers finally gave me some info that won me over. Soy wrap instead of seaweed. Now I can actually eat sushi and enjoy it. The hibachi is always good (shrimp) and I love the ginger dressing and clear soup. Darn it... Now I'm hungry!
(4)
Juan C.
Really disgusting sushi. Very expensive. My friend and i went a couple of months ago and we were dissapointed. The sushi was nasty and this is coming from someone who loves sushi. I give it 2 stars just because the service was great but yea skip this.

While staying in the Jacksonville area we ate at Crazy Sushi. The food was beyond my expectations. I ordered the Steak & Shrimp Hibachi and it was delicious. The dish consisted of steamed rice, vegetables and noodles. The steak and shrimp was more than enough and well worth the value of the dish. The wife had a California and Rainbow Roll. Again a big portion. A truly enjoyable meal with great service. I would definitely go back when in the Jacksonville area again.

I love this place. Gorged on fresh, beautiful sushi. Waitress was adorable. Reasonable prices too. Being new to sushi I tried a variety of tuna, scallop and salmon. Maku and nigiri . They were all really good. Warm sake was a good palette cleanser. Only thing that might have made it any better would be seeing it prepared. Will definitely be back.
(5)
Nay G.
I love sushi and this place is great especially the cost. Its not the best I've had but its pretty good and fresh. We spent about $36 for us and we are used to spending atleast $50 and above for just the sushi. I haven't tried any other sushi places in Jax, but this one is on the top list so far!
(4)

Best Sushi on the Southside of Jacksonville. They have a great two roll sushi lunch special as well as any of your favorite specialty rolls. Service and atmosphere is good and prices is right. Don't waste your time with other sushi places if your near Tinseltown area.
(4)

Went at night instead of lunchtime. Lunch is much better due to specials. Prices are higher than other places for 10pc dinner at 16.95 and they messed up order, but we got free dessert to make up for dinner mistake.

We have eaten here for six years and always find the sushi rice perfect and ingredients fresh. The special rolls are playful and delicious. They remember their patrons and are very pleasant. The new decor is a mix of elegant and bizarre but still a nice ambiance. Fine place for a casual date or a family.
(5)
Brad M.
Worst sushi and worst food I have ever eaten. I tried it because of a coupon in the mail and now I know why they have to give out coupons. The hibachi was just like McDonalds version of Japanese hibachi and the sushi was about the same. It had a weird Coleslaw in some of the rolls. It tasted more like a southern Chinese dish than sushi. Would not recommend this place at all. Atmosphere is nice but that's about it. You can get better sushi and food elsewhere. Even better " fake" Japanese food.

First time at Crazy Sushi- very well priced and fresh sushi! Better than all the other sushi places in the Southside area. The miso soup, tempura appetizer and crunchy roll were all fantastic. The staff was also very friendly. Definitely going back soon!!
(5)
William D.
We enjoy both the traditional rolls as well as the hand rolls. The tempura appetizers are also a favorite. We've tried several of the hibachi entrees ad well, and really enjoyed them. The kitchen is always willing to customize the dishes - leaving out vegetables we don't care for or adding more of a vegetable we like.
(4)
Kola H.
Crazy yummy! I ordered the black dragon and it was a perfect combination of shrimp tempura and cucumbers wrapped in eel and avocados, the clear soup ans ginger salad was a perfect appetizer and my friends let me try the "nobody's home" and princess rolls and they were equally delicious! Going back tonight :-) arigato!

Nice atmosphere, relaxing music. I had the Sushi Dinner and substituted the Philly role. The roll was disappointing as it was made with crab stick, but their salmon skin roll made up for it- one of the best salmon skin rolls I've had in a while. Just be sure to eat it first, while it's hot and fresh. The dinner came with 10 delicious pieces of nigiri, and we started the meal with the hands down most delicious edamame I've ever had. The wait staff was extremely attentive and the service was fast.

I always suggest this place when someone wants sushi. I've turned so many of my family members on to Crazy Sushi and they love it too! I really dig the renovations they've done to make it bigger now too, but still the same ole' good place I've always loved....just with more seating!
(5)
Marjie C.
For my first time coming here, I really loved it. I think the only problem I had was they put a little bit too much sauce on the sushi. I will definitely come around again.

Warm ginger salad. Crusty seaweed particles in my miso soup. Bad lemon slice in my tap water. Of course I may have come during an off day.. Ok fish.. Go here in a pinch!

I feel like I don't trust places found in strip malls. I make a snap judgment that they will lack character, be bland and uninspired, and generally a generic and boring experience. [I really don't like strip malls.] However, this is one of those places that blows all those thoughts out of the water. This has some of the best sushi in Jacksonville. I would come here a lot more frequently if it was closer to my abode, but for people who live near Southside Blvd/St John's Town Center area, this place should be a regular stomping ground. The interior is not that spectacular. It's nice, tiled floor, wooden tables, decorated. It isn't boring, but it doesn't have amazing atmosphere. However, the sushi is reallllly good. It's really fresh. Really well made. They have a huge variety of rolls, and their special rolls are all really great [depending on your preferences - mine are tuna, tuna, tuna + spicy, spicy, spicy!] and really not that expensive, averaging around $8 for a special roll. I judge my sushi on its freshness, first and foremost. To me, it is the make or break issue. And Crazy Sushi, every time I have gone, has had really fresh sushi. So, they get my vote. You'd have to be crazy not to try it.
(4)
Renee H.
I have been a regular since they opened years ago. I have never been disappointed...unless I get sushi somewhere besides Crazy Sushi. They are the best I have found in Jacksonville. I loved the Chef's roll - it's the best cucumber roll I have ever had.

This place knows how to make sushi. One of the best sushi restaurants in JAX!. I am happy everytime I go there. Great customer service and delectable food.

As a vegan I really appreciated the choice of vegetable rolls - 7 different kinds. The service was excellent and the environment was fairly nice. I overheard the hostess say they just completed a renovation about 4 weeks ago. The decor and the music are soothing making for a relaxing dining experience although I could do without the televisions, but that's my own pet peeve. Miso soup was not complementary, but very tasty. We'll definitely be back soon.

Sometimes it's not as much fun to go back to a place you regarded so well. Such is what happened with me & Crazy Sushi. All in all it was decent, but there are so many other places in the area to choose from that it might be a while before I make it back. I can say that if it wasn't for my husband's pork katsu entree, I would consider giving them two stars since it's truly more of a 2 1/2 star rating. We ventured across the boulevard after seeing a movie at Tinseltown. We were seated promptly as there were many booths open; we must have been just ahead of the afternoon rush because they filled up quickly. They were prompt to bring our drinks and take our order but then it started to slip after that. I ordered two rolls, one of which should have at least been warm when it was served, and it wasn't. I would not even begin to consider myself an experienced eel diner, however, something was just not the same. My husband's pork katsu was really good and a rather large portion. So much that he could pack a full to go box to enjoy for lunch today. Knowing that a great experience just wasn't as good, I'm willing to give other places I've been before a second look as well as branch out and try some new ones. Sorry Crazy Sushi, I'm just not so crazy about you anymore.

I love sushi. This place is one of many sushi places by my apartment but is the only one I go to. Their rolls are good, although I'm a little boring and stick with my usual kinds of rolls. The Agedashi Tofu is so good I always burn my mouth on it when it comes out because I can't wait for it to cool down. It always looks pretty clean and I like going there. I'll be back for sure!

I've been to Crazy Sushi twice, both times dragged by my friend who really loves their sushi. The only way I can eat their sushi is to apply a fair amount of soy sauce/wasabi mixture to compensate for the terrible rice they use in their rolls. I question whether they even use sushi rice for their sushi. I detect no hint of vinegar and the rice was pretty darn hard. I give it two stars because there were some pretty creative rolls that I consider not sushi, but more of a hrmm... creative egg roll with rice (fried surfice with veggie/fish/etc dipped in sauce). On the upside, it is a cute place and many people seem to like it. I suppose if you are not too picky about the rice, you could enjoy their sushi.

Service here was good...at least my waitress good. I've heard some bad stories about some other waitresses who are more mean here. My table added a few orders and she kept track of things well and explained some of the things on the menu to us that didn't have a good description. As far as the food goes, the sushi was decent, but not the best I've had. The rolls are also priced a little more expensive than some other better places I've had. The fish didn't taste that fresh and I would have liked to have more eel choices on the menu. Other things on the menu were pretty standard, like their hibachi, seaweed salad, yakitori, etc.

My background - I am half Japanese, grew up in Hawaii and California, my step-father is a Japanese Sushi chef. Hopefully, that'll qualify my review enough for folks. I've been eating raw fish and sushi and Japanese food my entire life. My wife and I ate here, and I (unfortunately) won't be coming back. She had her own experience, but aside from the rubbery, incorrectly cut sushi, the miso soup was bland, and missing the most basic and necessary ingredient (I'll let the restaurant figure that one out - it's not Tofu or wakame that I'm talking about either). My review isn't to try and dissuade those who enjoy their time here, as I believe if they are enjoying the shrimp sauce and rolls and such, have a good time. I just hope that those who can really appreciate actual Japanese food, or are looking for quality try this place for yourself, and keep looking, because there are places that are the real deal. FYI - two other things that clarified that this isn't a true Japanese restaurant was 1- when I asked for Ocha, they had no idea what I was asking for and 2- the sushi rice was right out of the cooker - no vinegar preparation whatsoever.

Seriously addicting!! I don't think I've ever ordered anything here that I didn't absolutely love. I've been a regular here ever since they opened and I am so glad they decided to expand the place which was much needed for them especially on the weekends when its always packed. Always get dynamite and shrimp tempura rolls!! I'd definitely recommend it to any one craving some good sushi!!

I was really looking forward to this place. The menu looked very good. However, service was horrible and food was mediocre. We had to get our own menus from the waiter station. We had to flag down a waiter to get our drinks. When the food came, we had to ask for silverware and chopsticks. It took us forever to get our food (which was not that much). I ordered the Crunch roll and when it arrived it was not as described. No tempura flakes or sesame seeds. Barely any teriyaki sauce. That roll was on the special roll list so I was expecting a bigger roll. It was very small. My co-worker got the Dynamite Roll and fried rice. The Dynamite Roll was good. However, the fried rice had no taste at all. I work near by and needless to say, I will be trying the many other sushi restaurants nearby before returning to this one.

I found this place on a recent trip to Jacksonville and I've got to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The owner of the place (at least she seemed like the owner) was VERY polite and provided exceptional service. The place was packed on a Thursday night, but we didn't have to wait for too long before being seated. Now, if you're a sushi connoisseur, you'd probably give this place a three star rating. Their fish wasn't amazingly fresh and the rice probably wasn't authentic sushi rice, but you know what? It still tasted pretty damn awesome. Especially if your palate has been tainted by the flavors of Japanese Mayo, Eel Sauce, and Shrimp Sauce. If you (and maybe a date) are looking for something fun for dinner, I would definitely try this place out. They have a ton of specialty rolls that I haven't been able to find elsewhere. I would suggest the Snow White and Brazilian roll if you're there. If you want a LOT of sushi, go for the Sushi Sandwich. Not gonna' lie, the amount of sauce on this thing might do you in. And the prices are insanely cheap compared to everywhere else I've been. Usually I'm seeing rainbow rolls for $10+, but their rainbow roll is only $7. And they're specialty rolls don't rape your wallet either. I went back for lunch on a Monday and tried their Sashimi special. The Sashimi was great. My only complaint would have been the rice. It was a little hard and definitely not sushi rice. Then again, I usually just chow down on raw fish and ignore the carbs cause' yes, I am a fatty. Oh, and their fried ice cream is awesome! I don't know what their batter is made out of (I think it's funnel cake batter), but it tastes AMAZING! Definitely give it a try if you have the stomach room for it. Sushi connoisseurs, stay away. The rice WILL probably ruin it for you. But for those who want a fun meal with lots of flavors and unique combinations for relatively cheap, this is definitely your go-to joint.

This was the best sushi I have a memory of eating. We ordered the chef's choice boat for three. The sushi came with soup and salad. Usually chef's choice has one piece of fish that I don't care for but everything I tasted was fantastic. The service was top notch too. We had a few minutes wait for a table but it was well worth it. What took me so long to try this place?

I'm not a huge sushi fan but this place did it for me. Loved the ambience, the decor and the service. Came with a group of girlfriends and we loved everything we ordered. I had the Monster rolls as recommended by the waitress and it was delish! The plum wine and sake were soooo good as well. This place would be great for a nice date too.

Now this is what I like to see; sushi without hibachi dumbing it down. Good food, decent service, and great variety. I like the many options Crazy offers as special house rolls and dishes breaking the mold of normal sushi offerings. You don't have to get the same old spicy tuna every time you go.

Definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants in the area. We came here four times and each time the service has been excellent or exceptional - price and quality of food (I stuck with sashimi) was excellent! Always very popular too ...

I thought Crazy Sushi was OK, but it's not my favorite and I'm not in a hurry to go back. This place has a few things going for it ... just not enough to topple Koja Sushi II and Sushi House in the Baymeadows area, at least for me. The upside: Interior is a little nicer than some hole-in-the-wall sushi places. (I don't know what it is about all these restaurants with TVs in the dining area, but that's a different story.) Service was just fine. It's a small place, but not Sushi House small. They have some outdoor tables as well if you're into dining al fresco looking at a parking lot. The prices were reasonable. As for the food: We liked the complimentary miso soup, and I really enjoyed the fried gyoza. Salad with ginger was fine. LDC had the usual rolls -- veggie combo and oshinko -- and liked them. The downside for me was ordering the sushi regular combo. Now 10 pieces and California roll for $17 is a fair deal. And I know that it's chef choice. But the selection was really uninspired, especially two pieces each of tuna, salmon and yellowtail. No eel or shrimp, basically not any really exciting pieces. Compared to the chef's choice I got at Koja II, which had a variety of pieces and no repeats, and all tasted better, this chef's choice was a huge letdown. Maybe the special rolls are a better bet? Maybe there's a better sushi cef working a different shift and this was a trainee? I don't know, but the first impression is the big one with restaurants, especially sushi. I've found my man Jay L's reviews to be pretty dead on. And I just caught him slamming Crazy Sushi in a review of another place -- wish I'd seen that sooner. I wouldn't call Crazy Sushi the worst I've had here (Chizu and Wasabi rank lower; Ginza is about the same), but with a few better places for sushi, it's hard to recommend this one.

I have been going here for a while. Back before they renovated it, it was wonderful always had good portions for the price and speedy polite service. Since they remodled the size and quality of the food has dropped drastically and the service is truly terrible. I had to wait 15 min, to get a refill on my water. Consensus used to be good now your better off somewhere else and trust me there are plenty of sushi places in jax

My first time to Crazy Sushi was on a date, and the guy who took me said it was the best Sushi place in Jacksonville. I definitely think it's in the top few, and this places is top of mind when I want sushi. Restaurant is fairly small and usually has a good crowd. Service is quick and pleasant. Try the shrimp sauce and the specialty rolls.

My wife and I go out for sushi at least one or two time each week and we always get the exact same thing. We've moved to Ohio from Jacksonville and miss the great sushi we had at most places in Florida. If you're from out of state, you will think that Crazy Sushi is fantastic. It is good, fairly priced and always busy. The staff is friendly. We would say that Crazy Sushi is above average, even for Jacksonville and we ate there about once per month.

Not your typical hole in the wall, strip-mall place. Affordable rolls. Busy during lunch. One of the best sushi places in Jax, hands down.

Definitely a fan of this Sushi Bar!!! Dragon Roll baby!!! wooh wooh!!! Spent less than $30.00 for dinner for 2!!! Great place for having a nice quiet date. hehe Thanks Crazy!!!

This place has excellent sushi. The biggest problem here is in order to have lunch in a timely fashion you better get there early. I always try to get there around 11:30a because otherwise you will wait. The ingredients are always fresh and there seems to be plenty of wait staff there to make sure you are taken care of. It is not a very big place, but if you don't want to wait, you can always call ahead and pick up your sushi.

Food average, atmosphere a little noisy & the wait staff was somewhat inattentive. Overall not so impressed. It was Friday night so that may have had some effect on the service. If your near riverside go to the sushi rest next to Starbucks off park street. Much better service, food, and atmosphere.

Had dinner last month with a friend and it was the first time for both of us. We were pleasantly surprised at how tasty and plentiful our rolls were. Service was a bit slow but prices were good. Worth checking out if your in the mood for sushi rolls that are tasty and easy on the wallet.

Crazy Sushi has a very good, fun atmosphere and very clean. Seems to be packed everytime we go. Prices are a little higher than other Sushi restaurants. Sushi was good, not excellent. Would go back again.

I would like to think I've been spoiled by some of the sushi places in San Diego, but for a good lunch deal and a nice place to meet friends, this place really delivers. Their sushi is darn good for the price, if you can find what you want... I definitely think they need to update their menus to make it a little easier. The waiters/waitresses are super speedy when it comes to clearing plates/filling drinks which usually bugs me at other places. Whenever I go there are quite a few people there, so that's always a good sign to me! I'll keep eating here, and have yet to have a bad experience!

Bad visit today. Sushi chef talking on cell phone making sushi not washing his hands. All food is contaminated hope I don't get a bad stomachs ache.

I am a really big fan of the Chicken Fried Rice at Crazy Sushi, mix a little shrimp sauce and Sirachi sauce (Rooster Sauce) to add a little kick to your rice. The Casina roll is my fav. The prices are good and the atmosphere is nice.

Might be ok if you like California and Dynamite Rolls. If you like real sushi it's a huge disappointment. The tuna nigiri I had was not fresh and was cut incorrectly making it chewy and stringy. My yellowtail was very fishy and was inedible. I agree with Kathy C. that the rice is not true sushi rice. This place stays pretty busy which just shows that most people in this city really have no clue. I guess I would say Crazy Sushi is the Applebees of sushi.

I've been to Crazy Sushi quite a few times, mostly just based on geographic convenience. Their rolls are not great, but most definitely above average. I feel relatively confident in saying it's one of the best sushi places in Jax. The environment is pleasant and inviting, and they usually have a pretty full dining room, though I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table.

(4)Michelle M.

(4)Eugene L.
(5)Lauren E.
Ordered for the first time and was impressed how awesome their rolls are and how decently priced they are! Their fried rice was amazing as well. Love love this place!!!
(5)Tim S.
(3)Elizabeth M.
(3)Danielle R.

Our family has been going here for years. I will drive across town just to eat at this amazing place. Staff is great environment is comfortable. great for a date night or quick lunch! Yum!
(5)Henry H.
Sushi is good but fish isn't fresh. I would probably recommend going to another place that has better sushi. They offer free miso soup and salad for lunch.
(3)Audrey W.
Favorite sushi ever. Seriously, the best. I've had sushi all over and this is my favorite. This is my 'go to' sushi place. I am so lucky I live right next door. It's almost too convenient. Love!
(5)Dino D.
(2)S B.

(4)Ben M.
(3)Lorine W.
(5)Keith B.
.Having been to a different sushi place a few nights prior, this place was just so so in my opinion. Nothing great but not bad. Waitress was super confused. Was kind of a bizarre experience.
(3)Mandi R.
Went here for the first time yesterday on my lunch. The lady up front gave me some suggestions when I told her it was first time the rest. My eel and avocado roll was amazing. They forgot the spicy mayo, but it was still good without! Will definitely be back soon!
(4)Jimmy M.
(4)Nichole H.
Great sushi :) Yummmay!
(4)Zarir M.
Road warrior love sushi. Eat sushi every place you can imagine. Warrior like this place. Freshest sushi warrior ever have. Nice service and price for warrior wallet. Me love this place. Warrior Be Back. Warrior came back two times, Warrior very happy again
(5)Michelle B.
(5)Sarah D.
(5)Jennifer W.
Fresh sushi, clean atmosphere, friendly wait staff.
(4)Rachel D.
(5)Ryan C.
Order pick up quite frequently from crazy sushi and my girlfriend and I love it. Dining in is great also because they always have enough staff for the business to operate smoothly with great customer service. My go to sushi place near my house.
(5)Stacey H.
Been my go-to for years. Best sushi and hibachi.
(5)girl a.
(3)Nhi T.
Excellent sushi!!!!! Enough said! It got a 4 star rating due to awkward service. Had multiple waitresses ask the same question over and over....and we had no idea which sushi roll was which! But it was good! Also, soup and salad is free! :)
(4)Jeff T.
Crazy Good Food - great fresh sushi selections - great ala carte choices - great meal choices! Staff are very nice and efficient.
(5)Lisa C.
(4)Robert M.
(4)Jen R.
(5)Jaime C.
Great sushi! You can tell they put a lot of effort on getting quality fish. Giving them 4 stars because at the end they did not ask if we want anything else (like dessert) and just brought the check.
(4)M N.
My family has been eating their top notch food since early years of spring breaking here in Jacksonville . Now as a resident, we can't get enough of Crazy Sushi!!! We have tried everything on their menu and nothing has disappointed us. Very friendly staff whether dining in or taking out.
(5)Tressa H.
This is my all time favorite restaurant! It is a family favorite and our any occasion celebration place. The Fantastic Spicy Tuna is amazing!
(5)Thais A.
(5)Edward G.
Although there's a lot of rolls, there seems to be not much variety of ingredient (love cream cheese? This is the place for you). Also not many veggie rolls. Rolls were not tightly assembled but had good flavor. Very friendly staff.
(3)Leah N.
(5)Nita S.
Had a late dinner here with a few girlfriends and the sushi was very fresh. Service was also great. Highly recommend!
(5)C M.
(5)Cindy P.
(4)Juan C.
Really disgusting sushi. Very expensive. My friend and i went a couple of months ago and we were dissapointed. The sushi was nasty and this is coming from someone who loves sushi. I give it 2 stars just because the service was great but yea skip this.
(2)Carlo B.
(4)Michael H.
(5)Nay G.
I love sushi and this place is great especially the cost. Its not the best I've had but its pretty good and fresh. We spent about $36 for us and we are used to spending atleast $50 and above for just the sushi. I haven't tried any other sushi places in Jax, but this one is on the top list so far!
(4)Chris G.
Best Sushi on the Southside of Jacksonville. They have a great two roll sushi lunch special as well as any of your favorite specialty rolls. Service and atmosphere is good and prices is right. Don't waste your time with other sushi places if your near Tinseltown area.
(4)Jonathan P.
Went at night instead of lunchtime. Lunch is much better due to specials. Prices are higher than other places for 10pc dinner at 16.95 and they messed up order, but we got free dessert to make up for dinner mistake.
(4)Amber A.
We have eaten here for six years and always find the sushi rice perfect and ingredients fresh. The special rolls are playful and delicious. They remember their patrons and are very pleasant. The new decor is a mix of elegant and bizarre but still a nice ambiance. Fine place for a casual date or a family.
(5)Brad M.
(1)Amanda B.
First time at Crazy Sushi- very well priced and fresh sushi! Better than all the other sushi places in the Southside area. The miso soup, tempura appetizer and crunchy roll were all fantastic. The staff was also very friendly. Definitely going back soon!!
(5)William D.

Best sushi in Jacksonville, hands down. I live very close to here and will return frequently.

Had a nice lunch here. Rolls are pretty decent and the service is good.

(5)Marjie C.

Nice variety of rolls, service is awesome food is always been good

Great atmosphere. Customer service was surprisingly amazing. The decor is dark and calming and I stopped in during the early afternoon. The presentation of the food was wonderful and the taste was delicious.

Never had anything bad there. Great atmosphere and in the Top 5 for Sushi in Jax.

(5)J L.
(5)Adam H.
Now this is what I like to see; sushi without hibachi dumbing it down. Good food, decent service, and great variety. I like the many options Crazy offers as special house rolls and dishes breaking the mold of normal sushi offerings. You don't have to get the same old spicy tuna every time you go.
(4)Taka T.

(1)Lauren T.

(4)Doug P.
Not your typical hole in the wall, strip-mall place. Affordable rolls. Busy during lunch. One of the best sushi places in Jax, hands down.
(5)Geoffrey T.
Decent sushi, terrible service. Probally last time I'll visit
(2)nicholas n.
Definitely a fan of this Sushi Bar!!! Dragon Roll baby!!! wooh wooh!!! Spent less than $30.00 for dinner for 2!!! Great place for having a nice quiet date. hehe Thanks Crazy!!!
(5)Diane C.
(5)The Crews C.
Food average, atmosphere a little noisy & the wait staff was somewhat inattentive. Overall not so impressed. It was Friday night so that may have had some effect on the service. If your near riverside go to the sushi rest next to Starbucks off park street. Much better service, food, and atmosphere.
(3)Jose P.
Had dinner last month with a friend and it was the first time for both of us. We were pleasantly surprised at how tasty and plentiful our rolls were. Service was a bit slow but prices were good. Worth checking out if your in the mood for sushi rolls that are tasty and easy on the wallet.
(4)Ryan M.
Crazy Sushi has a very good, fun atmosphere and very clean. Seems to be packed everytime we go. Prices are a little higher than other Sushi restaurants. Sushi was good, not excellent. Would go back again.
(4)Tony H.
(4)E K.
Bad visit today. Sushi chef talking on cell phone making sushi not washing his hands. All food is contaminated hope I don't get a bad stomachs ache.
(1)Jitan K.
I am a really big fan of the Chicken Fried Rice at Crazy Sushi, mix a little shrimp sauce and Sirachi sauce (Rooster Sauce) to add a little kick to your rice. The Casina roll is my fav. The prices are good and the atmosphere is nice.
(4)El Diablo X.
(1)Matt S.
