Small, intimate place with quality authentic Asian food. Fast service and always consistently good food.

Sitting quietly in the suburbs of Jacksonville, in a strip mall loaded with international flair... is an extraordinary Cantonese restaurant that crams a ton of flavor into a small dining area. Yes, everyone loves Chef Chan's, "Yum yum it is authentic!" is heard by all. But, "authentic" what region? What are their specialties? What dishes does the chef recommend? I don't know, I can't answer this! I don't live here! And, I've only been able to appreciate the amazing foods that I tasted at Chan's a tiny number of times. But, from what I tasted, this food is Cantonese from my taste--- Hong Kong to be specific. Please correct me if I am wrong, but everyone else fails to mention it. The sauces are light, if non-existent--- which pair perfectly with the delicious fresh flavors of the fresh vegetables and perfectly cooked meats. The Spinach with Garlic is perfection in every bite. Oh, and the duck... don't even get me started on the duck. I have not had duck this moist and flavorful since my days in Manhattan Chinatown. Chan's could survive as just a Hong Kong BBQ house on it's own. I cannot wait return and try the pork. I ordered the Dan Dan Mein because it seemed interesting to see what the outcome would be. Nothing like Korean Jajangmyun and nothing like Szechuan Dan Dan Noodles--- Chan's is it's own special sweet and salty addictive concoction, served on a bed of toothsome noodles, that could have fooled me as hand-pulled. Thoroughly impressed.

Yes the Chef is back! The food is just as good as the former Beach Blvd location. The whole snapper was to die for. Then the salt pepper seafood was a new winner. You just have to stop by this smaller location. The quality is still great. I will be back to see Lisa and the entire Chan crew.

I love this place. I've never sat down and ate and I've never had dinner but this is my go to for lunch takeout. It does have a dine in area but I don't think it has more than a dozen tables, and that's being generous. I always get the roast duck noodle egg noodle soup. It comes with a quart of a roast duck separate (with skin!), a generous portion of broth with some bok choy and scallions. Selfishly I'd be happier with more veggies, but still quite good. I tried the fried chicken dumplings along with it, because they were out of shrimp (boo!) and they were very good, not too heavy or oily. I have never had a bad thing here and they do tend to have strange closure days but they generally have a sign up in the door. The staff that checks me out in front is always friendly, knowledgeable and I love that they give me containers of chili oil and hot mustard (not the runny packets, but real mustard!!!) with no extra charge. (yes.... I am thrilled by the little things in life)

I was here yesterday and i just moved in Jax couple days ago and i just fell in love with the place! One of the best asian cuisine place
I liked it when it was their original location on beach blvd. I came here for lunch with my extended family since I was in town visiting from Las Vegas. Granted I grew up in Jacksonville so I should know what to expect but after living in the west coast. It's hard to compare the asian eatery. It was good food. A little bit too salty or too much msg... But it's Chinese food as to that's to be expected. We order pineapple shrimp, salt and pepper pork, beef chow fun and general tso chicken. The General Tso was not spicy at all as it should have a little kick to it. It was more so sweet. And beef chow fun had more onions than noodles. Probably what I enjoyed the most was the pineapple shrimp. It also had a white creamy sauce on top of the shrimps which I thought was a little too thick for my taste buds but overall was rather good. The service was good and our server was very funny. The food was prepared rather quickly as well and we didn't wait long at all. Maybe 10-12minutes but definitely under 15min wait. I like how the restaurant is well light with natural light and not dark at all. It's in a busy plaza with a Panera there so parking is packed on one side of the plaza and on the other side where the 3f(x) is there is more open space to park. I give it 3 stars because the food was not as good when it was at beach blvd location as well as I thought it was a little overpriced and it was kinda regular tasting Chinese food. Granted it's better quality Chinese food for the Jacksonville area for sure... But I just wasn't impressed overall and just tasted like take out order for me. And again, maybe that because I've become accustomed to very traditional and authentic Chinese dining.

In my personal opinion, this place was simply an upscale "Hot Wok" sort of restaurant, which is not a good thing. Additionally, the waiter was not very friendly at all. I would have totally understood had they been extremely crowded, however, I was the only person seated at the time. He seemed put off with me asking to take a moment to look at the menu prior to ordering my meal, even though I ordered an appetizer while deciding. The crispy shrimp dumplings were good, but the Four Seasons lacked flavor big time. Additionally, the meat tasted processed. I guess I will have to continue going to Orlando when I get that itch for authentic Chinese cuisine. SN: The young man who greeted me at the door and sat behind the register was quite friendly!

Jax is very limited when it comes to good Chinese food. This place has no problem standing out as the best in town. Best spicy beef udon soup! Quality food!

My cousin took me here since the owner's daughter was a friend of his. I was presently surprised. We went during lunch on a weekday, the service was great. The food came out within 15 minutes. I had the wonton soup with upon noodles and he had a chicken fried rice. I'll be definitely coming back :)

2nd time they closed randomly, this time on a Friday evening, 730pm. Wow, last time was Saturday lunch now a Friday. Might as well close everyday folks!

Best authentic Cantonese food in Jacksonville. Rivals those in Chicago's Chinatown. Avoid the non-authentic options though, the ones with fancy names. Instead, try: appetizers: shrimp stuffed eggplant noodle soup: spicy beef (it's very mild spicy, not like Mexican or Thai spicy) dinner soup: seafood with fish maw (for those who appreciate a good seafood soup as it's $20) noodles: "chow fun" (aka. pan fried wide rice noodles) shared entrees: whole snapper, peking pork chops, seafood casserole in clay pot, salt and pepper whatever (lightly battered and fried without tasting greasy), vegetables: chinese broccoli w/ garlic, string beans, or baby bok choy w/ garlic. small dining room with ~7 4-person tables. fast service. reasonably priced portions. waiter with a unique personality.

So happy that Mr. Chan is back on business though it's not close to the beach blvd anymore. Their Cantonese cuisine such as Char-siu (BBQ roast pork), roast duck, beef stew casserole, ginger Kai-lan (Chinese broccoli), Bor-choi (Chinese spinach), Peking pork chop, soy sauce chicken, fried dumpling, Singapore chow mei fun (rice noodle), beef chow ho fun are still the best. If you visit there, don't just order American Chinese dishes, should try those above. You won't regret it!!

Not going to write a huge review. Just want to point put that their food is really really really freaking good. I've visited here 3 times and have yet to leave dissapointed. The Chicken Pad Thai is to die for.

I don't know what possessed me to check this place out at 12:30 on a weekday. The parking lot is nuts (as mentioned) but I wanted to try something new. When I walked in the young woman at the counter didn't say anything at first so I asked if I was just supposed to sit down. She seemed surprised that I was alone but took me to a table. The waiter came over right away for my drink order. I was kind of surprised to be brought a bottle of soda with a glass of ice but whatever. The menu is pretty big and I felt like I had to order so I went with something I knew I would like-shrimp hibachi. The food came out pretty quickly and the serving size was good. Still a little big for me but a lot of times when you get hibachi for lunch it's more than 2 lunches worth of food so I was glad it wasn't huge. The shrimp and veggies were great and I love the shrimp sauce. The fried rice seemed to made with a different rice than most places (not a bad thing). The price was good but I'm not sure the hassle of the parking lot is worth a lunch time visit for me during the week.

Very disappointed today. Was looking forward to returning to Chef Chan after having enjoyed many weekday lunches there. Checked the website which indicated the restaurant is open from eleven in the morning until nine at night. We arrived a few minutes before three and were advised that they were closed until four thirty (the tables were occupied by earlier patrons.). Unlikely to return any time soon. Judith L.

Pretty good Chinese food in Jacksonville. We've been there several times since they've opened and have tried a variety of dishes. Some are excellent, others are a bit of a let down. But overall, if we are looking for good Chinese food that is close to us, Chef Chan is on the top of the list. We've tried a variety of dishes from fried rice, noodle soup, to casseroles and whole fish. Last night, we decided to go back to Chef Chan (wife craving a good Chinese meal). We ordered fried shrimp appetizer (I had a weird craving for it), salted fish and chicken fried rice, braised pork casserole, and kung pao chicken. Here is a good example of their food is a mixed bag for me. The fried shrimp was pretty good, your basic shrimp battered and fried. Nothing to write home about, and I am good on fried shrimp for the next, say, five years... The salted fish and chicken fried rice was good. Though it was funny the server checked twice to make sure I knew what I am ordering because "it has a smell". After assuring him that i've had this dish many times, he placed the order. The braise pork casserole was a dish my wife picked. I would have never picked it because it doesn't tell me what it is. But I am glad she picked it (I guess because she can read Chinese, she recognized the dish for more than just "braised pork casserole"). It arrived in a clay pot with heaping amount of pork and pork belly chunks, little bit of veggies, Chinese mushrooms.. all in an intense thick delicious sauce. Delicious stew with steam rice. I highly recommend it (if you are not afraid to try pork fat and pork skin). Our let down dish of the night was the kung pal chicken, believe it or not. I wanted to have something spicy and intense and figure Chef Chan would do Kung Pao right. Well, it was a weird sliced chicken (instead of cubed), tad bland and absolutely no kick whatsoever. Maybe I should have emphasized to kick it up a few notch. We couldn't eat everything anyway (ordered too much as usual), so it will be our lunch with some added chili pepper and sauce to re-fire for lunch. But all in all, Chef Chan is our go-to place because they do serve up pretty good food and there is that convenience factor.

I love this place!!! I have been here a few times and everything we ordered were delicious! I grew up in NY (an hour away from NYC) and we use to go to China Town all the time...so I was super happy when I found out about Chef Chan, they are as close to authentic Chinese food here in Jacksonville, the food reminds me of NYC China town!

Excellent food and service! Made a reservation for my family of 8 and everything was ready for us when we arrived. We got a ton of food. Crispy fish, fish filet, generals chicken, pan fried seafood noodles, beef stew casserole, and sweet and sour chicken. Would highly recommend and we will return for sure! Keep up the excellent work!

I grew up in San Francisco, went to college in Los Angeles, frequently visited Taiwan for family vacations. So I've had my fair share of party-in-your-mouth-delicious, authentic Chinese food. Using those experiences as a benchmark, I believe Chef Chan is as good as it gets here in Jax! They don't over-sweeten, over-sauce, or over-MSG their food (whew). They cook it right and serve it out piping hot as it's ready. The noodles hit the spot in terms of texture and taste, the meat is flavored amazingly and properly, the rice is fluffy and aromatic, and most importantly - the vegetable stir-fries are chock full of flavor and made perfectly. You know Chef Chan is back there with his flaming hot wok making magic happen. This is (mainly Cantonese) Chinese cuisine done right. Admittedly I haven't tried the other pan-Asian offerings (e.g. the Korean items or the Japanese Ramen items) - will need to adventure into that sometime in the future. And since people around here also care about the non-food things: very small dining room, but not cramped (the max group size is probably 8, and even then they'll have to shuffle some tables - I'd say call ahead if you're bringing a group larger than that). Pretty decor. Clean. Friendly and attentive wait staff (they even remembered my daughter's food allergy). Food comes out quickly (for Chinese food - remember that certain awesome things simply take time!). Very reasonable prices. Go get some!

one of the better places for chinese food in JAX. the decor is early take out but the staff is friendly and attentive the prices are way good and so is the food.
Wow, this is what Jax needed. Everything from the roast duck to the chicken feet was "Zang!" That's Chinese for excellent.

I use to LOVE Mr. Chans and when they sold/transfered their beaches location something was lost (it's still good though, just not great) so when I found out the same chef was right around the corner at Baymeadows I was ecstatic...and wow was I disappointed. First problem, the new place doesn't have Egg Foo Young, which was magical...not sure why they don't I may have to do some more digging to find out. We tried our favorites the sesame chicken and garlic eggplant...both were fine but really nothing special! Maybe I'm spoiled, but Mr. Chan did the spoiling and now I have standards for Chinese food!! I think I need to try again just because I can't let it go...will update when tried again

One of the very few authentic Chinese restaurants in Jacksonville. We've been here a few times since we heard about Chef Chan and have been pretty impressed so far. I've tried their Taiwanese style pork chops... which to be honest, I don't think is very 'Taiwanese' but is still quite tasty. We have ordered a whole fish, steamed with ginger and garlic, which was pretty darn good. We've tried several dishes and have been pretty happy about them all. For Jacksonville, it really is as good as it gets.

I lived in Shanghai for 2 years, Bangkok for 8 years, and have visited Taiwan and Hong Kong more than 50 times. I love Chinese food. I've tried a dozen places in JAX, and they went from adequate to mediocre. On a recent cold, rainy, overcast day, I visited Chef Chan. The restaurant was crowded and, unlike any of the other JAX Chinese restaurants at which I've eaten, most of the customers were Chinese. That's a good sign. I ordered the gum bao (or "kung pao", depending upon whether you spell the capital of mainland China as "Beijing", or "Peking") chicken. I started with a small bowl of hot and sour soup. Peppery and puckerish, it was very good. The entree was absolutely covered with large chunks of chicken breast - no skin, gristle, or bones - with some onions and peppers...and a smallish portion of white rice (I prefer that to fried rice). When I ordered, I asked for chop sticks, and was surprised to have the chicken covered with a lot of peanuts. Woohoo! In China, parents teach their children how to manipulate chop sticks by moving peanuts from one small dish to another. I'm guessing that the waitress wanted to be sure that I had some practice before I ate. The sauce was spicy, but not overwhelming. The lunch special included an egg roll and, with the soup and tax, the meal cost just under $8.50 - a very good deal. I can't wait to go back!

Welcome back Mr. Chan!!! Went there for lunch today ordered the soy sauce chicken noodle soup, and there was no disappointment here, the soup was extremely tasty and fresh. Definitely going back for more and enjoy his splendid cooking skills. Went there for dinner last night had calamari with curry for appetizer, if you are curry lover this is incredible you must try it. The food is as good or better then before, had soy sauce chicken, beef chow fun, lemon chicken it explodes with tremendous flavor the food is suppose to have.

Was on the Southside and had a craving for Chinese food, so the wife and I decided to try Chef Chan Asian Cuisine. Located in a strip mall on the corner of Baymeadows and Southside is a non-descript restaurant with about 8 tables and 28 chairs, so it's not a large place by any means. Decor is sparse to non-existant. The place looked like it was owned by a husband and wife, but was really his sister-in-law. The staff and hostess were all very nice. We ordered the Szechuan beef, beef chow fun, and garlic bok choy. We were told the food was typical of what you would get in New York. I've never been to New York, but the food is very good and typical of Los Angeles and Toronto. The beef chow fun was cooked perfectly and was not greasy, the Szechuan beef was tender, had the right amount of spiciness and the veggies, crisp. The garlic bok choy had plenty of garlic and was delicious when eaten with the white rice. It's always nice to find a great Chinese restaurant in Jacksonville. However, it's not cheap, but with the prices of the many crappy fast food Chinese places around, I guess it's acceptable. I'll be back.

Excellent food. I don't live in Jacksonville but if I did I'd be at this place often. The staff is friendly and the food is so good right down to the greens.

Had the Dan dan noodles as suggested by other reviewers. If Dan dan is Szechwan for spaghetti and meat sauce, then that was fine. It was just like my wife's with a bit more Sesame and a touch of five spice. Can't really complain as I've never had it and have nothing to compare it to (other than my wife's spaghetti) I liked the noodles (rice?) They had a good bite and were a bit denser than spaghetti. (like udon noodles)

I love Chef chans this is the original owner from their old beach blvd location. The food and service has always been good however I do go at non peak hours right when they open or hour before they close on week nights. Try the bang bang shrimp chicken and salt pepper squid is good too I'm not much of a spicy person however it's like I'm playing with death TIP get a table away from the bathroom and be careful you may get addicted to the food it's good

Great sit down Chinese. I stopped in for lunch and it was great. They have a great combination plate for lunch. I would definitely come back to try dinner. The dining room is not too large so not the best for large groups.

This is by far the best and most authentic Chinese food in jacksonville. I always gravitate to their incredible noodle soup dishes, the best being their shredded duck noodle soup, spicy beef noodle soup, and Korean style seafood noodle soup. One thing I noticed, most non asians eating there usually order the standard Americanised Chinese food, such as sweet and sour anything, general tso, etc. Why would you do that? I implore you to order from the authentic Chinese menu to really taste incredible Chinese food, otherwise just stick with the "Hot Wok" style of Chinese takee outee, your taste buds won't know the difference and you would save a few bucks as well.

I was excited to try this place based on all the positive reviews. But it was a little ho hum. That said, I will try again. I think the dish I selected wasn't a good fit for me. I went for lunch but after the typical rush time, so around 12:45. Most tables were occupied but there was still a table or two available so I sat right down. I ordered the honey garlic chicken lunch. Light on garlic. Way too much honey. Wow, was it sweet! But cooked well. The highlight was the egg roll and fried rice sides, both were excellent, especially the rice. My biggest issue was that I felt terribly rushed. I kinda get it, it's a very small restaurant with few tables, so they make money by turning tables fast. And I was only spending $10-$12. But there was no one waiting, and I had never been there before so I wanted to take a few minutes with the menu. The server asked me 3 times in 5 minutes if I was ready to order yet. So by the 3rd time I rushed and just picked something - and that's how I chose a dish that I wouldn't normally choose. My mistake. Between ordering, receiving my food, eating, and paying, I was barely there 20 minutes. I shouldn't have been so rushed by the staff. I'll try again, but take my time next time!

I would like to thank Chef Chan for one of the best bowls of soup I have had in years. There was an essence, something about the noodles, I can't put my finger on it but it's a taste I remember before Asian cooking became so modernized. What a good feeling to relive something I thought was gone forever. Chef Chan is truly a master, holding on to the old ways. A small unassuming place with only six or seven packed tables and a brisk call in business. I was so moved by a party of six sharing some of the most beautiful dishes family style that I had to ask permission for a picture. What a good experience, I plan to return here many times in the future. If you find yourself close by I highly recommend you try Chef Chan Asian Cuisine.

Mr. Chan is BACK and BETTER than ever. Gone are the bad attitudes, high prices, and just general arrogance. My complaint with the old Mr Chan's on Beach Blvd was always their general poor customer service. They knew their food was that good and authentic that people will keep coming back regardless. Well I guess it does catches up to you since the old location is now under new management and generally caters to the take out/sweet and sour chicken crowd. This new location is on the Southside, a much more desirable area than the old. The restaurant is small but nicely decorated, and everything smells brand new (lots of new remodeling and shopping at IKEA I am sure). Let's get to the food. The menu is consist of your average Chinese takeout dishes to cater to the masses and a few authentic offerings for the true foodies. We ordered the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup, Braised Pork Shank, Water Spinach, and Salt & Pepper Squid. The Spicy Beef Noodle soup is better than ever. It's probably one of the best and most authentic I've had in the states, and it's actually right here in our backyard (Sorry mom, it's even better than yours). They even added Jjampong (Spicy Korean Seafood Noodle Soup) to the menu, and on this Saturday night, all the Koreans were gather there just for that menu item. I can tell they were all very excited about it. No surprise that Chinese people can actually make the Jjampong better. I am also happy that they are offering this dish, maybe all the over priced and bland generic Korean restaurants in town will take notice. But I digress. The Braised Pork Shank fell off the bone with plenty of sauce to drip over your rice, and it came with plenty of bok choy on the side. The squid was flavorful and crispy. Lastly, the presentation of the dishes is modern, a pleasant surprise as most authentic Chinese places usually plate the food with dishes that look like it came from the Dollar Store. So final thoughts about Chef Chans? The food is authentic; it has always been better than Peony's, but now with the new presentation, and improved attitude, I will be a regular once again. Only thing missinging is the cute tattooed chick with the bad attitude, although I am not sure if this is a plus or a negative.

I'm not a Jacksonville local, and I was looking for decent Chinese food. Chef Chan's restaurant seemed to fit the bill. Chef Chan's get 4 stars for quick preparation and reasonable prices. The portions were ample. My vegetable spring rolls and shrimp wonton soup were delicious. I plan to return again in the future and sample more of the entrees from their menu.

Large menu with lots to choose from. Prices reasonable and portions great. Food is always prepared perfectly. First time I saw it from the outside, I thought it was one of those places that you pick up food from and didn't realize it was a seated restaurant. Very small, nothing special at all about the inside; but very, very good food.

If you were a fan of Mr. Chan's on Beach Blvd. and recently experienced a less than satisfying meal, there is a reason. Mr. Chan's, the owner, sold that business this past February. The good news is he is back and better than ever at Chef Chan's at the corner of Southside Blvd. and Baymeadows Rd. We have eaten at the new location several time and was happy to see the mix of Asian and American customers that used to be a mainstay at the old location. Good news travels fast. Many of the old wait staff is at the new location which made it that much better. The food is fantastic, and it's definitely going to be difficult to get in very soon, when the word gets around about Chef Chan's.

Has some authentic dishes, but I wouldn't say it's the best chinese restaurant in JAX. However, liked their version of the fish maw soup better. Less starchy. Will return, but don't know if I would make it a part of my regular

Absolutely Fabulous! Recommended by a friend, we decided to give this new restaurant a try. It has been a long time since my wife and I have experienced truly wonderful Chinese cuisine. My wife ordered a Tofu stir fry and I ordered Snapper with curry sauce. The staff was helpful and attentive and the food was excellent. We are looking forward to going back next weekend. I would certainly recommend anyone to go quickly, because it will quickly become a favorite for many. SK

I wasn't sure what star to give it or to even give it one. I decided to order out since I'm at work, but when I called to ask for delivery, the girl said they don't. I told her that this site said they did and she said that it's for their store on Beach Blvd. I wanted to try it because some of the reviews said the food is good. Oh well, I guess I'll never know. I'd go out and get it myself if I could, but because I work at a hotel in the jacksonville area and am by myself, it's kind of hard to get out.

Thank goodness the former Mr. Chans owner opened up another place!!! The quality is good and the staff is always friendly. I love their roast pork, salt and pepper porkchops, and their whole fish!! I wish they had a bigger restaurant to fit more people! Welcome back Mr. Chan and family!

Best Chinese in town. Definitely has the best general tso's chicken. My wife likes their sautéed string beans and tofu lettuce wraps (she's vegan) and I enjoy pretty much every chicken dish they have and their egg rolls. What makes their chicken dishes so good is that they use only white meat chicken, if the dish is fried it is very lightly so, and they don't overpower their dishes with too strong or too much sauce. This makes the dishes feel lighter than most Chinese places and really balances the flavor. My wife would also like me to point out that their tofu is very good and not the gross squishy kind you get from most places. A few words of advice for everyone; they are closed Monday's and the do not have a fountain machine but rather serve you 20oz sodas to you poured in a rather slim glass. Oh and before I forget, if you come for lunch, try the clear chicken soup with it. It's very delicious and simple.

(5)Veronica T.

(5)Victor C.

They are awesome! The food is amazing! The sweet and sour shrimp is the best! The staff is friendly and attentive! Always a good decision to eat here!

(5)Tim M.
Wanted to try something new out here. This place hit the spot!!! Prices were great...lunch menu had a lot of variety...this was authentic Asian food!!! I highly recommend this place and will be back again!!
(5)Anthony W.

Tempted to give this place five stars but didn't want to preemptively do so without going for a second time. But I couldn't withhold my great experience here today. I was curious about Mr. Chan's that is located on Beach Blvd but then found out it was under new ownership. Found out just yesterday that Chan himself opened (3 wks ago) Chef Chan & planned to come for our Sunday lunch. I couldn't contain my excitement since last night. What can I say about the power of first impressions? This place delivered its authentic meals superbly. The garlic soy sauce sautéed baby bok choys were great. Not over cooked, still crisp & edible sizes compared to reg. sz bok choy. The big red snapper was fried to a golden perfection with its flaky meat coated in a crispy batter, basking in a soy-ginger infused sauce. This delight was all topped with slivered green onions & ginger. The fish was filet in a way for easy pickings & consumption. I didn't have to stab my sticks into the meal to go fishing for food ;). The salt & pepper squid was perfectly cooked, not heavy on the batter nor too salty. Will definitely come back to try their roasted duck although it isn't served with steam buns. Maybe I'll make them and bring it on my next visit. Just added a new meaning to BYOB, bring your own buns. So glad this is closer to us compared to my other fave authentic chinese restaurant in Mandarin. I will have to put both on rotation since I'm still a loyal eater at Peony's. On top of it all their awesome knowledgeable wait staff is very helpful in answering questions & are attentive. In the words of the Terminator, 'I'll be back.'
(4)Nicholas B.
Wow, this is what Jax needed. Everything from the roast duck to the chicken feet was "Zang!" That's Chinese for excellent.
(5)Brentley S.
(2)Kathy C.
(5)Scott K.
This is one of the finest Asian restaurants that you will eat in the city of Jacksonville. The food is always served fresh and hot.The service is always warm and friendly.
(5)Matthew R.
Authentic food, at fair prices. Cant ask for anything else. The squid was seasoned properly and the service was efficient. Ill be back.

(5)C N.
(5)M D.
This establishment is most authentic restaurant we've found so far in the area. Highly recommend everyone to dine here! Fantastic small place with friendly owners with great recommendations if you're unfamiliar with items!

(5)Wali G.

Try the bang bang shrimp chicken and salt pepper squid is good too I'm not much of a spicy person however it's like I'm playing with death TIP get a table away from the bathroom and be careful you may get addicted to the food it's good
(5)Jason W.
Great sit down Chinese. I stopped in for lunch and it was great. They have a great combination plate for lunch. I would definitely come back to try dinner. The dining room is not too large so not the best for large groups.
(5)John L.
(5)Tonya C.
(3)Cecil S.

(4)Sara L.
(5)Food M.
(5)Paul H.
Has some authentic dishes, but I wouldn't say it's the best chinese restaurant in JAX. However, liked their version of the fish maw soup better. Less starchy. Will return, but don't know if I would make it a part of my regular
(3)Jean A.
The original Mr Chans is back! Best part is they serve the roast pork every day now instead of just Sundays. It's a little farther for us but worth the drive.
(5)S K.
SK
(5)David H.
Had lunch there yesterday. Was excellent, huge and delicious serving plus rice plus egg roll for only $5.95! This is a real find, hope he can stay in in business!
(5)Cristina B.
(1)Elaine C.
(5)David F.
Mr Chans changed owners and went downhill, but now he's back as Chef Chans and is as good as ever, closer to my home and I'm happy.
(4)Rx C.
Great place to go for good Chinese cuisine. They have two different menus if you wanna try authentic Chinese dishes.
(5)Food Lover S.
Oh! If you don't find china town nearby and you still can find Chinese food this good. That's mean it's number one in town.
