Average pizza but above average prices still haven't found the best pizza place in the area

Fresh, tasty, clean. Music a bit over powering. Order delivery early , like hours before you are hungry.

We started coming here when we moved here in 2011. Love Thursday's $1 Pizza and $1 Beer. Oh yeah $1 Pizza and $1 Beer!! Great deal!!

Great local pizza joint. I give it 4.5 stars for the pizza but the great specials bump it up to 5. Thirsty thursday = $1 cheese pizza slices and draft beers. Sunday = bogo pizza all day. Tuesday = $7.50 large cheese pizza. There are a few others but those are my faves. Always hot and crispy, fresh ingredients, good sauce. Service has been slow a couple times, but the majority of my experiences here have been above average. If you like Al's and Renna's, you'll love Brucci's. All this pizza talk has me headed there right now :)

Really like the Sunday Buy one Get One pizzas. Great food...but for regular full price, I find it a bit spendy to buy one pizza for $20.00. Still do it once in awhile anyway. They usually are overwhelmed with patrons each time I'm there...so service is kind of slow and the staff look frazzled, like there are not enough people to serve, bouncing back and forth between the tables, the take out and the bar. In spite of that, I keep going back. And I love their salads too!

We come to the Hodges location often. If you're in a hurry, don't come on Thursdays because that's their busiest night with $1 slice $1 beers. Saturday night they now have a happy hour with live music which is a lot of fun. I think they have a night for kids too but we haven't been to that. Overall the service and food are great and affordable. When they get slammed on Thurs nights service can be a bit slower. I'd recommend it of your looking for a good pizza and good beer, we like their dough more than Mellow. Also try the Calzones, we get those for lunch on Saturdays a lot because they're on special.

Pizza is better than average and it has a good atmosphere. It does get busy on the Thursdays because of beer and wine specials. I have friends that love the place and would probably give it a 5 star.

First visit to Brucci's (via groupon) and came away impressed with quality and freshness of food. The cheesy breadsticks were served piping hot with the cheese still bubbling. Ditto on our veggie pizza . My 1/2 side salad consisted of lettuce, tomato, green pepper, red onion and topped with cheese and was huge. Oven and food prep area is open and easily viewed by patrons so cleanliness should not be an issue. Although our server did her best, with only one server, service was a tad slow. Overall, Brucci's was a good experience and warrants a return visit.

This is the three-strikes-your- out review for me. I really want to have a good experience and good food as others have suggested, but I don't want to go in and eat there. First time we ordered one of their gourmet pizzas- it was a soggy, gross mess. Next time, we built our own and it was equally gross. This past time they said it would take 45-60 minutes for delivery (I live right down the road) and when it finally arrived it was completely burnt. Thanks for nothing!

I stopped by here for take out lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I've had their pizza and agree with Natalie - fine for a family dinner! On this visit, the bartender took my to go order. She was super friendly and gave me a free diet coke while I waited for my order. I got the lasagna that came with garlic bread and a side salad. It was decently priced - all that food for $10. However, when I got the food home, I was really disappointed. They had placed a piece of contact paper of the lasagna to keep the bread out of the pasta. Good thing it stuck to the top of my lasagna and ruined whatever mozzarella was waiting on top. The meat in the lasagna was gray and flat. I know it probably came frozen, but really? Gray and flat? Sad. Also, the garlic bread was burned. Two stars for the great service. If you come here, just get the pizza.

Zero stars wasn't an option, so I am overrating this place by giving it one. A buddy and I went on a Thursday night 12/13/12 at approximately 8:45, as I was told they had $1 pizza slices and $1 domestic draft beer. I looked online first to see the menu and the deal was advertised there so off we went. The restaurant looked nice, was rather small and was almost full, but there were no customers at the bar which is where we wanted to sit anyway so we could see the game on the TV which was behind the bar in the corner. I typically get better service a bar because there is always someone there. That idea would be proven wrong here. There were two men behind the bar, neither of whom even acknowledged us and again, we were the only two people sitting there. One guy was tall with dark hair wearing jeans, the other was shorter with light hair wearing shorts. There was a girl who walked by and behind the bar, as we were where the opening was where the bartenders and servers enter and exit the bar and the cash register was on the far side. Anyone using it or getting any type of drink would have to pass by us. She also said nothing to us. After debating whether to leave, another girl went behind the bar and finally asked if we wanted something. I confirmed with her that domestic drafts were $1. My buddy ordered a Bud Light and I ordered something else. She said, "But Light isn't $1. The bar menu was right there and pointing to it I politely said, "It's right here with the other domestic beers". She said, "Well it's not a dollar" rather rudely and rolling her eyes. My buddy got a Miller Light instead, which he doesn't like and I got something else. She walked off and she never spoke to us again. Meanwhile, the guy in shorts sat on top of the back of the bar; the area where liquor and glasses are, opposite the cash register. I could not believe what I was seeing. Just to clarify, the guy sat his butt up on top of the bar. We already finished our beers and while all four of these servers were walking back and forth, not one of them asked if we wanted another beer or if we wanted to order something to eat. I waved to the guy in jeans and asked, "Why is Bud Light not available for the $1 draft"? He said, "Because it only comes in bottles" and he walked off before I could ask if we could order another round and some food. My buddy and I looked at each other as if, "Why didn't that girl simply say that, instead of debating with us about the price"? I've read other reviews about rude service and she must have been who they were talking about. Long dark hair, rather large eyes and pretty, but boy, what an attitude. We remained the only two people at the bar the entire time with no one giving us any service at all, much less being cordial. It was though we did not exist; four servers - no service. I put $3 on the bar and we walked out and went to our usual hangout across the street. I was mad at myself for leaving even that. There was no logical reason that I could see as to why we were ignored. The guys had plenty of time to sit and stand around talking at the other end of the bar and the girls passed by us numerous times as well and didn't seem to show any sense of urgency. There was someone behind the bar at all times, mostly the guy in jeans and being the only customers sitting there, it seemed obvious they were deliberately not paying any attention to us. This would also explain why there were no other customers at the bar, assuming they don't give service to anyone who sits there. I wish I had the chance to try their pizza since that is a weekly treat I enjoy. I was hoping to find that it would be good because I would go back to any place that treated me as any customer would expect. My regular pizza night place is always packed at the bar and since I'm never ignored there I can now understand why it is so busy and why Brucci's bar stools were empty. It's pretty bad when you go to a restaurant and never even get a chance to try their food. I not only went back to the person who recommended this place, but I have also told all my friends about this miserable experience.

This is my first and only time eating here. I ordered a Brooklyn pizza for take out...not good at all. Maybe they were having an off night but this pizza tasted like cardboard. No seasoning or flavor and the bread tasted like water. It was cooked well but really no point if the pizza doesn't taste like anything. If you're serious about good pizza, I would not recommend this place. Try Renna's or Pizzalley's down in St. Augustine.

We come home often for their very affordable Thursday night $1 slice of pizza and beer. This is the only reason we come here though the pizza just like the service can be a real mixed bag... Sometimes the pizza is WAY over cooked and sometimes it is WAY undercooked and slimy. To be fair: they are always packed on Thursdays ( up to a 30 minute wait at times ) so this might affect the quality of the pizza, still for a $1 you can't beat it. The service is even more inconsistent. For example a man, so we believe to be the manager once was extremely curt to us, to the point where we considered leaving before the food came, but two weeks later he gave us one of the nicest serving encounters I have had in a long time. Again I can't stress that to be fair it is always very very busy when we come so naturally our experiences would be different than those of someone who didn't go on a Thursday.

Brucci's is a local chain. They just opened their third location, which is the one I am choosing to review. Brucci's is a good place to meet with friends and share some pretty good pizza! They are very accomodating. There were 2 pizzas that we were trying to decide upon. They were able to do half a pizza with no sauce, procuitto and cheese...and the other half was a standard Italian pizza. Very tasty! I wouldn't recommend this place as a romantic date, but it definitely works for a family dinner!

Something has to be exceptionally good or exceptionally bad for me to write a review. Brucci's makes the list. I feel a little silly classifying pizza as "Amazing" but this is it. The dough is made on site and you can watch the guys behind the counter start your pie from scratch. The ingredients were surprisingly fresh and the spinach in my spinach salad could have been picked and washed 10 minutes prior to my arrival. I am from Atlanta and happened to dine here while I was on vacation and felt compelled to write a review. The prices were way too cheap for the quality of food and highly recommend it.

Brucci's is a nice casual pizza joint, with a bar and sometimes live music. Very large variety of specialty pizzas, or build your own from 16 regular toppings or 18 different gourmet toppings. These can also be made into Stromboli or calzones. The menu also includes all your standard pasta dishes, 8 different salads, 4 appetizers including garlic bread, cheesy bread, etc. gluten free crust is available, an assortment of paninis/subs, and a few dessert options. You can choose from several wines & beers. The pizza is good, better than the delivery guys, but no one is scared in Manhattan.....

The service was terrible. We waited close to an hour for our pizza and it wasn't even prepared correctly. I wanted ham and mushrooms as the toppings and added bacon to half of the pizza. When the pizza came out, half of the pizza was only bacon and the other half was ham and mushrooms. The guests that were seated after us almost finished their food before ours came out. Since the kitchen is visible, I can tell from our server's reaction that the order she placed didn't come out right, but she never checked on us and didn't warn us about the mishap. The pizza that we ate was the second one they made which was still wrong. The next time we saw our server was when it was time to pay. No apologies! Never again!

This place was really bad. The pizza was tasteless, definitely needed more tomato sauce. The main problem waa the service. We got there and ordered a pizza. Forty minutes later, we were still waiting....we noticed that a couple who had arrived about 15m later had been served...so what was going on? I had to ask the question, and they told me that they were going to see what happened. What happened was that they order was wrong, but nobody said sorry. Five minutes later, they served the wrong pizza because they realized it had been a while since we ordered it, and they did not want us to way any longer. Not only that, our waitress disappeared and saw her again only when it was time to pay. Another waitress served us the right order. Nobody asked us if we wanted something else or if everything was ok. I have never given a one star review. This place really deserves it. I left really disappointed.

Went here for lunch a couple weeks ago. My friend and I sat at the bar. We both were very impressed by the freshness of food but very turned off by the service. We were basically ignored by the bar tender who was literally playing on her phone the entire time we were there. She was playing on the phone by the computer then back by where the line was to get and run food. We felt very annoyed by this.

Ring-Ring. That's your phone ringing- it's me. It's Thursday. What are you doing? Nothing? Well get off your behind and head to Brucci's for the most amazing food/drink happy hour in Jax. I'm talking $1 Beers $1 House Wine and $1 slices. Now Let's talk about these slices. I'm a Brooklyn-ite. I look for certain things in my pizza. Not too heavy with the sauce (check), just the right amount of cheese (check) and a crust that contains air pockets so you know they care about you (check). I'm serious- this dough is righteous. It's like quality bread that just happens to have toppings. Some of the best pizza to be had resides here. Suck it Al's. Suck it Mellow Mushroom. Say it with me now- Bruuuuccciiiiis.

I eat here regularly for lunch. I like the slice of pizza and salad combo. The food and Service are always great! They give you lots of of toppings on the pizza and the salad is always fresh.

Went during a Thursday, pizza isn't too bad for $1 a slice! I think if I knocked a few back, it would be perfect. Don't expect gourmet pizza and you won't be disappointed!

  • Gina G.

The pizza is wonderful, it's always cooked just the way I order it. They don't skimp on the toppings and it's never burned or soggy. If your lucky you can catch the the kitchen staff hand tossing the pizza into the air of the open kitchen. The spinach salad is always fresh and the portion sizes are generous. Definitely a neighborhood favorite.

The place looks generally drab and the pizza was tasteless. We ordered the Syracuse Stuffer and there just wasn't any flavor. I ate all toppings together and dissected the pizza too. The meatballs are certainly store bought and the sausage had no flavor. Overall, the pizza was lacking. We wouldn't have come here except that my 3 year old was begging for pizza and our go to restaurant closes on Mondays. I think we should have gone across the street to little caesars!

Family owned; the food here is very tasty and well made. They have great weekly specials and are open late so coming here after work is always a good idea. Their calzone is soooooo yummy; they bring it out piping hot, you can see the melted cheese bubbling through the slit in the middle! They have great pizza, the regular slice tastes like New York, but I haven't tried their white pizza yet. This is real pizza--the crust has a crunch but it's soft and doughy on the inside, sauce is fresh and not over powering,.and the cheese is.covering the entire slice perfectly melted and greasy.... YUM. I love that they have this crazy food challenge because I'm a sucker for games! It's called the "Fuggedaboudit", if you can eat this huge pizza in an hour, it's free!! I'm going to bring my skinny but ravenous friend here next time and see if he can conquer this! Staff is incredibly friendly and I enjoy the little bar. They have good beers on tap like Yuengling and Sam Adams Oktoberfest which is always to have while waiting for your to go order, or just grabbing a quick bite. They have TVs so you can watch the game and newspapers to read should you be here solo for a quick slice and a beer. Bring your friends and family if you're in the mid for a fun, relaxed time with good food and great service. Afterall, who doesn't love pizza?

I might give this place 3-stars 5 nights a week but Mon and Sat they have music. Unusual and lots of fun for a pizza place. There are gluten free options and they are always accommodating making a pizza with pesto sauce. Add arugula to your pizza! I never realized how great it was until Brucci's.

They run so many specials, and yet always seem unprepared for the amount of people that are drawn in. Between the coupons floating around and the nightly deals, you'd think service would be more adequate.

  • Carole Z.

The pizza here is very good, and so is the service. I've been here a few times and have gotten the gluten free pizza and the crust is one of the better I have had around town. My significant other gets the regular pizza and states that the crust on that is very good as well, and raves about their meatball toppings. My order is always correct here and the servers are polite and pay pretty good attention to your table.

We went on family night, and it was our first time heading back to Bruccis in maybe six months. They had bingo for the kids, which was great, but were totally overwhelmed in the kitchen and among the waitstaff. They now deliver, and do carry out, and that takes precedence over your order at the restaurant. We waited 75 minutes for two pizzas, totally unacceptable, and many times our poor server was so overwhelmed we could not find her to refill drinks etc. During that time we watched countless delivery and carry out orders fly out of the kitchen. Bruccis management should ramp up so they have a large enough staff, and enough equipment to handle the volume if they choose to run both a sit down restaurant and provide delivery service. Although the food tasted good, I don't think we will ever go back. I can't imagine sitting over an hour waiting for pizza. We made a statement about our wait, and no one came to speak to us from management at all. To pay $50 for cheese bread, drinks and two pizzas and wait that long was not acceptable to me.

I went to T-Mobile on the same shopping plaza and decide to check this pizza restaurant. Good food, friendly staff, decent prices.

It started out as a great night. The pizza was tasty, our service was great (i think the owner himself helped us!), the atmosphere was fun and the beers were only a dollar! I was really enjoying my time here and excited that I found a new pizza place with great specials ($1 slice and beer night on thursdays and bogo pizzas on Sunday...that's right buy one get one FREE). My night was ruined because of a rude waitress who wasn't even helping our table, starting with last call. I have spent 10 years of my young life waiting on tables and I have NEVER experienced the attitude I experienced here. Usually when a server says last call, they take your drink order...welp not this one. This waitress yelled last call as she walked through the restaurant. She apparently thinks last call means everyone-get-the-hell-out-of-here-we-are-closing instead of who-wants-another-round. We ordered another round and started to close out and wrap up our food. Asthis waitress starts sweeping next to our table she starts singing the song Closing Time but changes the words to apply to our table. So, for example, instead of "Closing Time, time for you to go out to the places you will be from" she sings "Closing Time, time your to drink your beer and leave this place". Honestly, if you are going to insult your customers at least make sure they are out of earshot. AND THEN, as shes folding pizza boxes two tables away, again within earshot, she says "Honestly its 10:30, we've been closed for a half hour, leave!". I couldn't resist and turned around and said back to her "Don't worry we are leaving" to which she replied, "GOOD!". Everyone else was nice, I understand you are closing and trying to leave. As I said I've worked in a restaurant before and if a situation arose like this I would never insult my customers, instead politely ask them to move to an outside table (which we would have gladly done) or put up with it. We weren't your table. It's a known fact that an unsatisfied customer tells twice as many people about their experience than a satisfied one, a rule she obviously needs to learn if she's in this industry.

I've been a regular for the dollar pizza / beer on Thursday nights for a few years now. Good pizza, cheap beer, and a nice staff; they can get busy at times so I would recommend ordering a pitcher - a good problem to have :)

Really good pizza and a family friendly environment. Great combinations of pizza to try and service is always steady. If you go on Sunday, try the BOGO, it is a great desk. While not an "Out of the World" experience it is good pizza and good service.

I'm a pizza girl, but I don't particulatrly care for the delivery variety. This place is right up there with one of the best sit down pizza places in Jax.

This was my first time at Brucci's Pizza. When we entered there was live music and the musician was pretty good. I had a Stromboli with mushrooms and green peppers. It was delish, and the marinara sauce was good as well. I would definitely come again.
