Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

We get pizza from here pretty frequently. Although wait times during peak hours can be long, their pizza is always great. Even on the extra-large, the middle of the pizza is cooked very well.

Sorry, poor pizza ,I was on time to pick up the pie, it was cold...extra large?...hardly! Having worked making pizzas in a pizzeria for several years in the past, I know it costs next to nothing to just stretch the dough a little more and have it fill the box or more and add a bit more sauce and cheese! A little effort goes a long way in bringing ppl back...is this NY pizza?...I don't think so.

This hurts as Brooklyn Pizza doesn't get a bad review because they suck it is just their food. The place is exactly what you would expect to see in a neighborhood pizza joint. Nothing fancy, nice owners, reasonable prices. There is only one problem, the food just isn't good. We had a calzone and a Greek salad. The salad was just what my weird aunt would make but with Greek dressing on it (if you knew my aunt you would know that the salad wasn't good). How the heck do you mess up a salad anyway I mean it is like lettuce, olives and cheese? The calzone was like... look I am wasting your time and mine here. The place is nice, they really do try but it just ain't good people. Go To Mellow Mushroom.

Have been there 4+ times and everytime the pizza is great. You can order a whole pizza or by the slice. I love the thin crust. Try the Mozzarella sticks. Also serve: Calzones, Sandwiches and Salads. They offer take out or sit down. Lunch and Dinner - open at 11:00am

I have tried 18 different pizza places in JAX over the last two years.... Even though I only gave it 3 stars (all 5 star pizza joints are in NY, and Jersey); it is by far the best PIE in JAX! They don't deliver, and I feel the Baymeadows location is slightly better pie. * UPDATE as of 8/1/08....they started real good, but yesterday I ordered five pies for my office, and I was embarrassed....they really sucked BIG TIME!.....they now go to '2' stars (was 4) still better than Al's crap. If your slice does not stand, and it is overSPICED, and full of oil from cheap cheese; don't eat it! So now I am still searching for a decent pie in Jax....BTW when you see NY pie on their logo, etc. it is just a bate job, anyone who left NY to sell pies in JAX was throw out most likely so don't fall for the BS NY thing.

Ok, been here twice, once to the Baymeadow's location and once to the one off Bartram Park. Neither were very good. I got a whole pie to go from the Baymeadow's one and the crust wasn't crisp and the sauce is lackluster. The one over on Bartram Park was ok. It was a whole wheat slice, very crisp with some unknown toppings. The pizza maker had made his own pie and I asked for a slice. I also had a calzone that day with sausage, cheese, onions and peppers. It again, was only ok. Glabella had a eggplant parm that was awful. It was obviously frozen and tasted like freezer burn. I don't think I'll go back. I like the St. Augustine pizza places better (Pizzalley and Pizza Time).

Good place to eat, the owners run the place. Very friendly.

It's not Brooklyn but it's still pretty great NY style pizza in Jax.They serve pizza by the slice so try the Brooklyn Special or the plain cheese. Unfortunately the pizza isn't consistently good. Sometimes it's okay and sometimes it's great and this is normally when you order buy the pie. Some how you are better off just trying your luck at a slice? Every time I enter it seems to always be an older lady. I can't place her accent but its either somewhere in Southern Italy or Staten Island. Anyway - she's always smiling and cheerful to helpful. Can't always understand her but I just say "yes please" and she brings me something nice. But what I'm really loving is their great lunch specials! I like to pair a garden salad (I love olives) with the baked ziti for lunch and then go back to work and see how long I can work before my head falls on the keyboard like a pillow. (About 2 hours and 6 mins). Pasta dishes and calzones are great, pizza is hit and miss, but the customer service is always top notch. Old lady with an accent can't be wrong!

This was a great place to get pizza on my breaks. They recently lost their lease and had to shut down this location. Truly a shame.

Wow!!! This is truly the best pizza in Jax. The owners were amazing and the pizza was perfect. The crust was thin and crisp and the sauce so good I could swim in it. You could taste each ingredient and I am a total foodie and this place gets my "lick the plate clean" top cudos! You must try it!

Within minutes of arriving in JAX, my old time friend took me to this pizzeria and I definitely see why. Great to see that a person a get a great slice of NYC style pie in the great state of FLA. Keep it up guys.

As a 60 yr old pizza lover and live in NY, the pizza here rivals the best I've had in NYC, Queens, Brooklyn, and Nassau County. The sauce is great, crust thin and not too much cheese. I was very surprised that the pizza tasted as good as it looked. If you're from Flushing, you'd know of Amores (aka Gloria's). Very similar. I'd come back anytime.

Had two cheese and a drink for $5.99. Taste was good. Nice balance of sauce and cheese. Thin, airy crust. Slices are about the same size as the pizza from Sam's Club. Only reason it's not 5 star is that I wasn't completely full

I have been to the Brooklyn Pizza here on San Jose Blvd many times to get the special which is two slices and a drink for $5.99- a great deal!! The do have a lot on there menu including pasta and calzones but I love their pizza so that's what I order. The staff is very friendly and they always give you quick service. :)

I ate a Brooklyn's today and met the owner, Tony. Great guy who is originally from Italy. This guy knows how to make pizzas! Today I had a Stromboli and it was the best one I have ever had! Great food and great customer service.

Brooklyn Pizza is legit... Greasy thin crust just how I like it. My only complaint is the antipasto salad. Why is it so hard to find a good antipasto in Jax. The salami and pepperoni taste like it came out of a store package.

This is our favorite pizza restaurant in Jacksonville. If you want true Brooklyn style pizza, this is the place to go. A friend of mine from New York is the one who turned us onto this restaurant. She swears it is authentic and I have to agree with her. Our only disappointment is that they do not offer delivery. But, regardless, it is worth going to pick up!
