I am so comfy here..and loving the food. It's not a dive and its not snooty. Shrimp is superb..I had butterfly, baked potato and Apple sauce. Great place for a casual meal. Priced right. They have lots on the menu other than big variety of shrimp...catfish, mahi, fried mushroom.... I'll bring my mom here. She'll be happy.

Very good for a quick bite to eat. I am extremely picky when it comes to shrimp. Their shrimp was very, very good. It didn't taste frozen at all. The blacked flounder was a little fishy, but the fried was very tasty. I enjoyed the fried and the blacked shrimp. The blackened seasoning is flavorful, but not spicy. The green beans were good and the cheese grits were amazing. I thought the price was reasonable considering the portion size. One downside, for a new restaurant I would expect it to be cleaner. The staff was very polite and friendly. I will be back.

I saw this place a week or so ago and logged it into my try them out part of my brain. Well not thinking I drove by and they had the now open flags out. So I flipped the B****h and drove on in. Well somebody else had this idea cause the place had a line on the inside at least. They have painted the place from the taco bell colors and changed out some of the counter tops. Oh yea they got some new people too. I have built 4 different taco bells and this was the exactly the same walls set up. But, if you can make the old layout work. Then go for it heaven knows I have before. The menus are right join the wall as you walk in and then over the sales counter also. I looked over the menu and it's almost like every other seafood joint that are around town. Shrimp, fish, scallops, clams with hush puppies and slaw. You can get it grilled, fried, or blackened. I went with a little of each. The platter for one. When it came out it looked pretty good and large. Fries everywhere with some seafood scattered among them. I got 4 shrimp, 4 small scallops, 2 pieces of fish, and a cluster of clam strips and 3 hush puppies. Not bad I thought for 15.00. First off everything was cooked well except the clams were small strings of rubber. Normal really but the shrimp and scallops were cooked well just no seasonings to the breading. I will add that the hush puppies are on the sweet side. They also got my food pretty fast considering it looked like their first day open. In all not a bad showing but really I'm not sure if I'll be back. There are just too many other better seafood places here in Jax.

It's just ok. My wife had the clam strips, which were obviously frozen. I had the "bam" shrimp and was totally unimpressed. The sides were the same: over cooked green beans, and bland coleslaw. The French fries were good. It's not full service, but the workers behind the counter are friendly. We won't be coming back. There's just too much great seafood in Jax to warrant a return to Shrimp Shack.

Better than Singletons! Was a bit busy when we first got here but that just proves how good it is. Definitely coming back soon.

Not bad but not great. I will say that the staff was wonderful and very helpful. Food was obviously frozen or from cans with little seasoning. Probably won't return, too many other options in Jax.

So..... The food was ok at best, not local (frozen), my first impression, the guy running drive and packing to go orders was blowing his nose as we walked in the door ( no so bad) but he took the tissue and picked each Of his nostrils with tissue, tossed his tissue and began wiping down trays and prepping to go orders. Yikes the cost for four was $41, we should have gone to the sushi place as 1st suggested but we want to give this place a try.
