I have traveled all over the keys trying Conch Chowder everywhere and Lorelei's I have to say has THE BEST!!!

Hands down the best place my family and I visited during our 3 days in the Keys! The location is phenomenal...right on the Gulf with seating out on the beach with sand under your feet or in the bar area. We got the red snapper tacos and a salad. All were delicious. The 'frozen' key lime pie was phenomenal - had a creamy texture to it. We would have easily spent the entire day eating and drinking there had we not had other plans. The staff was really nice and prompt. I can't wait to go back!

Come here for the sunset and drinks. Food is regular bar food - fried and nothing spectacular. This place can get crowded so get there early if you want to watch the sunset. Even though I only gave 3 stars, I still go to Lorelei's every time I'm in the Keys because it's a fun place with a great view. Look for the big mermaid sign!

This place is very nice. And. Nice view to enjoy the sea at sunset, the food is ok. We ordered Lorelei's world famous fish sandwich that was ok nothing fancy, couple of rum runners were pretty good but the mango daikiri tasted like a smoothie not good,

We wanted a place that had beach dining and this is one of them! Although, we did not eat. We came for the view and and some drinks=) Service was good. The drinks were strong! We came back later in the day because nobody matched the strength in drinks than they did here and we found a magic show. Apparently, this guy performs regularly at Lorelei's.

I wish I could write a great review but they have just let themselves go. We couldn't get a table (its first come first serve everywhere there so it's like a war zone at sunset) and when we got a spot at the bar the cigarette smoke was so bad we had to move. I love this spot but the restaurant had better get their act together soon because we were happy to spend money there but no one acknowledged we were there. Oh well. Maybe next time....

We have been coming here for years and no matter what age you are you fit in. I haven't found a better spot in the keys than this piece of absolute heaven. Smoked fish dip is the bed I've ever had. The food is good and I just tried the blackened fish tacos and they were off the charts. Finally the atmosphere with the band sunsets over the Florida bay is just incredible.

I wish I could stay here for a month straight. Casual beachfront seating just a few feet from the water with a beautiful view. Great frozen drinks and seafood. I recommend getting the sampler platter appetizer. It's pretty enormous (good for at least 3 people) and absolutely delicious. And of course the stone crab when it's in season.

Fun atmosphere and good music. Authentic Florida Keys fisherman bar. The food was disappointing. Hardly any seafood selections and the majority of it appeared frozen and not fresh. A great place to have drinks with friends but not to eat.

Not thrilled with this place. First of all the food is underwhelming considering we are next to the ocean and the fish should taste fresh. This one didn't and we had the grilled snapper dinner. It lacked flavor, and it wasn't grilled as they claim more like pan seared with no color and zero flavor profile. Our waiter was ok, but a bit of a slow poke and lacking personality!!! Would not recommend. The only upside to this place is the location. Which I'm sure is nicer around sunset.

  • Melissa B.

Nice relaxing, laid back place on the water. Typical bar food. The key lime pie wasn't that great. We tried at least a dozen places for Key Lime Pie during Spring Break and this one made it to the bottom of this list.

  • Greg S.

You get what you pay for here.. basically deep fried everything.. but they charge accordingly... Service is awesome.. sunsets even better... great place to visit when in Islamorada..

  • Vivian R.

Ok so three stars for the food, or maybe two ** but honestly, if you think that you will have a great dinner outside while your toes are in the sand and have the best sunsets north of Key West, well then you really do not need to stop by. But, if a laid back atmosphere without being in a hurry and you just want to soak up the amazing sunset views, then this defiantly is a must place to visit and have a drink. Actually the appetizers i.e. Quesadillas , peel and eat shrimp warm and spicy and the conch fritters were better than the entrees. Get there by 5:30 if you want a table with full service, if not, you'll end up in a brawl for a table or just watching the sunset from the bar.

The location and atmosphere is great for a drink and a break. The food is really bad and has continued to decline. Also, to stop there with a group of 8 on 4th of July and have to wait for the bartender to serve us, doesn't help either. The food really needs to come up a few notches. This place needs to figure out if it's a bar or a restaurant. Right now, it's a bar.

Great for sunset! Drinks were ok, didn't try the food. It was packed with a wait and a little too unorganized to even want to try to get a seat. We sat at the outside bar in the back near the water which has a good view but funky smell. I would still come again to catch the sunset!

  • Persephone D.

Service was fine. Every detail of the food was subpar. Ordered: Philly cheesesteak: -bread was spongey -meat lacked flavor and had an overly papery texture -cheese seemed as if it had been placed as an afterthought. (Barely melted) Spinach avocado dip: -I understand this is America, but all I tasted was cheese

This place has a great spot. On the water and sunset is one of the nicest in the keys. The menu is simple and varied. The live music is quality and very keys like. Our bartender "Merritt" must have been having a bad day because her body language, lack of interest, and eye contact were absolutely terrible. It was like watching bill belichick in a postgame conference after a loss. We should have sat at a table and it might have been different but it made our bar seat experience not the best and we decided not to order any food or anything beyond our original drinks and moved on to a different location with happier service. I've been a few times and this place has been a solid 4 rating, but this one really bummed me and our mood. Sorry.

Venue - 5 This bar-restaurant is in the most beautiful setting along the shore facing the direction of the sunset. It has tons of seatimg, some on the sand, some on the front deck facing a stage, some covered on the back deck. We went on a Monday evening and there was live music and then a magician performance. Food - 2 I ordered the BBQ bacon burger cooked medium and corn on the cob for my side. The burger came out well done and the corn was cold and didn't come with any seasoning or butter. I asked for a new burger and it came out well done AGAIN! I was especially annoyed by this point but didn't want to wait for another and keep my friends waiting. The one positive was the two gi ry KS who ordered the fish tacos really liked them, and they were generous sizes too. Service - 3 The waiter was pretty nice and patient with my requests. Unfortunately he didn't take much responsibility for the poor meal; no compensation or anything. We didn't see him much either. He was running around quite a bit, covering the entire shore area seating, as if they were understaffed when we were there.

Used to like this place, sat out back for 20 minutes no service, walked out......can't even count how many times servers walked by without looking or speaking to us......

  • Gayle V.

Located on the Gulf side and the prime sunset location! Lots of folks come here for the inexpensive lunch and dinner fare and stay to watch the beautiful sunset! Food is okay and very reasonably priced.

    (3)
  • Kevin H.

It's always great here! Perfect sunsets and nice open air outside eating and drinking. This place can get packed but in the Keys that means it's a happening spot. The prices are very reasonable and drinks always cold and tastey! Love this place!

    (5)
  • Chris C.

Sent back 6 of 8 plates for being cold . Food disgusts me. Snapper dinner cost $19 and taste worse than Mcdonalds Fish filet. It started raining during our meal and the drinks got watered down and so did we. The rice was hard and vegetables taste worse than cafeteria food. Despite all of this, the mahi dinner made the cut and was quite excellent.

Lorelei's is probably the most popular place in Islamorada for watching the sunset. The view is truly amazing and there are several areas on the property for viewing. Get there at least an hour before sunset because the place gets packed fast!! There is only outdoor seating, so if its a windy evening and the temps are below 70, wearing long pants and a sweater should keep you comfortable. There is also a happy hour from 3-6 that boasts super cheap drinks! I have yet to try the food here, but I would think it's good. One of my favorite memories if this place was sitting on the deck and seeing a pelican sitting in a tree! I thought it was the coolest thing; I would have never imagined seeing that lol Definitely stop at Lorelei's if you're staying in Islamorada or just driving through!

    (4)
  • Gina P.

Definitely a must stop for me When driving home from the keys. Decent food good drinks but the view is really the selling point here. The bar is sitting like a dock over the water and they even have seating on the "beach". I've been twice never been there for sunset but I can tell it would be amazing. I've always eaten the cracked conch sandwich which is good and it comes with the out sauce which tastes like mayo and ketchup mixed. The happy hour is definite deal and considering it's during sunset why go anywhere else of your in islamorada!

If you want to experience the quintessential "Florida Keys Lifestyle", Lorelei is by far your best bet. Yes, there are fancier restaurants, more famous restaurants no doubt... but few restaurants embody what the Keys vibe is about like Lorelei. Nestled on the bay side of Islamorada, you will find an open air establishment that is part restaurant, part bar, part beach, part marina and 100% authentic in every aspect of what they attempt to bring to the table ( Literally and figuratively ) Ambiance: Sunsets here are just remarkable... especially with a Key West ale ( I may have had more than one.. but there's no proof ). You can sit by the water, by the docks, on a man made beach by the lagoon or on your boat... your call. There's almost always some live music there. Some of the performers have been playing there the entire 25 years I've been going to Lorelei. There's something so cathartic about having a cold drink in your hand, listening to some great acoustic music, and soaking in the best sunsets in the area. The other interesting thing about Lorelei, is that it's not a tourist trap... it's a locals bar where the locals are truly friendly, and often quite talkative about their exploits and tales of life in the Keys... you never know who you're going to meet there! Dress Code: Bwahahahahahahaha ( This is the Keys... anything goes ) Service: Many of the servers are lifers here... and it shows. They love talking to you about the menu, and are brutally honest about what they like and don't like. They don't push you out here... you eat and chill at your own pace. Food: Let's start at the beginning, appetizers. There's 2 I get every time, regardless of what special there are: The Cracked Conch and the Smoked Fish Dip. The cracked conch is exceptional.... tender, not overly chewy like a microwaved tire as most seafood restaurants serve up. The perfect amount of seasoning and texture makes this a must have ( Try their pepper hot sauce with the conch, it's incredible ) The Smoked fish dip is by far the best I have ever had, anywhere. Not a huge portion, but loaded with real smoked fish with barely any mayo... topped with capers and onion, it's unreal. ( Only complaint is the rather boring and uninspired club crackers that go with it... do yourself a favor and order up some tortilla chips instead ) Main bites: We had ( and shared ) the house fish sandwich, the fish tacos and believe it or not, a vegan sautee' ( I guess even the Keys is recognizing the dietary needs of some of us! ) The fish sandwich of the day was Mahi... and it was perfect... tender, moist and blackened so well! The fish tacos, the same.. no complaints. The vegan sautee' was pretty good, but the sauce was a tad spicy. There are a whole host of other entree's and sandwiches... this is the perfect place to sharing, and communal eating! Dessert: 3 words.... Key Lime Pie. The BEST I have ever had... in any of the Keys, bar none. This is the real deal... authentic, not fortified with food dyes to make it appear ( Lime green ). Creamy, with a mango sauce that I could have chugged by the gallon. Honestly, I could eat that daily and not get sick of it... it's that good. Every time I go to the Keys, whether it's a day trip for fishing, or a long holiday weekend... we always end with a trip to Lorelei on the way back home... it's a tradition. I highly recommend you share in the experience that is Lorelei!

Super relaxed atmosphere. Watched the Women's World Cup outside in the bar area with my family (kids too). The conch chowder was great and the fish tacos are fantastic. Our bar tender /waiter was great. Very accommodating and made great dinner suggestions. The key lime pie is a must.

Solid place, very casual, very Keysie. This place is always slammed, but it's a fun crowd. Service is usually pretty quick, considering how busy they are. The menu is reasonable, and the food is consistent. Whatever I have ordered has always been good, but I prefer the sashimi app and blackened mahi mahi tacos for dinner. Breakfast is standard, probably the best breakfast value in the Keys. In general, the music is pretty hokey- but hey- it's a free show. (But seriously, enough with the Jimmy Buffet guys.) Remember your hat & sunglasses, as the entire dining area is outside.

I went here for drinks while on vacation with a friend. We only stopped for drinks, so I can't speak for the food here. They have a great patio out on the water which gives a fantastic view and I hear it's a great place to watch the sunset. They also have a live band that plays, which is nice. Their prices for drinks were very cheap compared to other places we had been, and the happy hour prices (from 4 to 7) on top of their already good prices made them even better! For happy hour you can get $1.25 domestic drafts as well as $1.00 off any of their bottled beers which start from $2.50 and only go up to $4.50 (not including the dollar off). They had a good selection of bottles beers to choose from too. The only thing I did not like was our waiter. He never came to check on us and I had to go up to the counter to ask for our check.

Located on Route 1, nice little pit stop when driving between Key West and Miami. I ordered the Key Lime Colada, and it was awesome. The fish taco's were good, nothing to be wowed about to make the unique. The ambiance is real casual, you can get a table on the beach overlooking the water, I always find it pretty cool to see people pull in on their boats instead of cars.

Atmosphere, Food, Service and even Entertainment was fantastic. First time here and did not expect to have a table on the beach. The entire area was packed, but still found nice seating. While waiting to order, there was a magic act going on, then a pair of singers during dinner. We were greeted by a friendly server who ran all night with a smile. We started with a couple drinks then ordered salads and entrees. The salads were huge. We did have to ask for additional dressings for both. My wife had blackened Grouper with homemade potato salad and slaw. She loved it. I had a sliced Prime Rib wrap with a horseradish sauce. It also was very good. We wrapped up with Key Lime Pie. It was a beautiful night. We also enjoyed watched the Stand Up Paddle Boarders take off in the dark. The boards were actually lit up.

Key Lime Colada - that is all. :-) This place is worth a trip to the keys all on its own. Was down in Islamorada for a wedding a couple of weeks ago, stayed across the street as the Islander. My friends had a meet and greet at Lorelei's the night before the wedding. The first drink I tried was the Key Lime Colada. We went back for breakfast, lunch and dinner almost every day. The key lime colada tastes like they took a key lime pie and threw it in the blender with a couple of ice cubes. So creamy and rich! They put a graham cracker rim on the cup too. We were a group of about 10-15 that couldn't get enough of these! I've had key lime coladas elsewhere and none was this good (good enough to take up two paragraphs of a yelp review). :-) Aside from the drink, the food is standard island fare. Lots of snack foods (fried), fish and burgers. The atmosphere is casual, and they have an excellent space. The restaurant is situated right on the water with amazing views of the sunset. Can't wait to go back this coming Memorial Day weekend with family!

Lorelei has always been one of our favorites- the amazing sunset views, right on the water, with dock space for our boat - it's hard to find a better place to relax with your toes in the sand. The service can be slow at times, but you are in THE KEYS!! What's your hurry?? Relax...isn't that why you are in the Keys? The food is very good, bar food...it's not a steak house or a gourmet, pretentious, gastropub. So, don't expect a 5-star meal. Everything is served on plastic plates and bowls. Lorelei has a really good peppercorn crusted ahi tuna (with a yummy sea weed salad) and the fried fish sandwich is always delicious! The live music is fun, usually a blend of Buffet, Bob Marley, classic rock and cover band stuff. On Wednesday and Friday nights, there's a quirky magician. All in all, Lorelei is exactly what the Keys is all about.

  • Brooke F.

We were here for dinner, self seating. Try to sit somewhere obvious, even it hasn't been bussed. The food was average and the service was below average. When we asked about the size of an appetizer, our server instead told us that he disliked the dish in question. Our food was then twenty minutes late, and the drinks were kinda weak for $8. The music was good and not terribly obtrusive, so if your more interested in atmosphere than in the food and service, it might be worth checking out. Also, we totally didn't get our pickle spears. I mean, come on.

Great cabana atmosphere and people watching, food is decent. It's all about the beach and entertainment though.

  • Rob W.

A very nice place, and I see why it is so popular with tourists and locals for so many years. First, you have the great bayfront location with beautiful views. Several bars are on site to serve you drinks. Next the food is very good, and reasonably priced. I had a spinach salad, and it was wonderful, it had blue cheese and walnuts and a tasty vinaigrette dressing. The service was excellent as well.

  • Meghan K.

Great place to eat, have a cocktail outside, and enjoy the sunset. I don't know if I got good service because I was with some locals, but it was quick and they were friendly. The conch fritters, fish dip, and coconut shrimp were enjoyable. The sauce that came with both were yummy! They've got a good deal on beer for happy hour. Watch the sunset on the little beach they have in the sand and listen to the live music. I forgot to mention that they will cool up your fresh catch for you. I thought it lacked a little bit is seasoning on the grilled and fried, but the blackened was delish!

  • Brian W.

I have been to Lorelei many times and last night a disappointment with the service . I was sitting at a table with my wife and a friend and I had to go to the bar to get my drinks, the waitress was all over the place. After waiting an hour for fish tacos I wound up with shrimp tacos when I told the waitress and her reply was, "so wasn't it good?" This is not the way to keep customers!

    (1)
  • Liliana L.

Simple food, friendly atmosphere, great views if not raining. It's outside and and no roof only at the bar.

    (3)
  • Sergio S.

Great establishment to see the sunset, though I would recommend going to the Morada Beach Cafe, as there is much more space to watch and the food is better (though slightly more expensive). Lorelei has very friendly staff that will be happy to also take pictures of your family and the sunset for you. Food wise; the restaurant is ok, as I had the coconut shrimp and the seared tuna which were not bad, but not something I would order again. Overall, nice place to hang out and grab a drink, but I would make my way over to another place for your main course.

Great location of the water. Very friendly staff. Great service. Fish tacos were awesome with the mango salsa. Amazing Frozen key lime pie!

  • Josh E.

The fresh catch of the day(Mahi Mahi) was excellent. The blackened was better than the grilled in my opinion. Just the perfect amount of blackened and spice. Pina Coladas were good. The setting is really scenic. The band was super cheesy/brady bunch but nonetheless fun. The best part was the fresh catch of the day sandwich and the view. Service was so so(not bad, not the best i've ever had). Would I go back, absolutely. Would I call it my favorite restaurant on the water, no. I recommend it though if you're in Islamorada.

  • Christopher S.

REALLY DRY CHICKEN. I've made better chicken myself from a frozen package when I was living as a bachelor in college. Also, it cost $15 for an average sized serving of it, along with a side of rice-a-roni and cooked vegetables that needed some serious seasoning. Nice outdoor atmosphere though.

  • heather D.

Seriously the best hamburger I've ever had in my entire life! We ordered two barbecue bacon cheeseburgers and OH MY GOD! In South Beach the same burger would have cost $20.00. It was huge, cooked just right, with the best barbecue sauce I have ever tasted. I am going back next weekend and ordering the very same thing. I might skip the frozen key lime pie next time though. Every restaurant in the Keys has some version of the key lime pie, but frankly, most shouldn't. Great atmosphere and a super view. The bartender (a huge guy) was so nice and so accomadating, that it was a long time before I realized that he was handling most of the tables, and the bar, in the place. I rarely give any restaurant 5 stars, but this place really deserves it!

Looking for a place to throw back a few and enjoy the sun and views and great times. One of the best stops in the Florida Keys

    (4)
  • Bob J.

If you wanna see a proper Key Largo Sunset (without going out on the boat) this is probably the place to see one. Good live entertainment on a Sunday, the parents love this place although It's not a busy as it used to get on a Sunday they keep saying, is it the death of Big Dick (musician) or are the keys becoming too expensive and deserted?? Good beer and good food, can't go wrong on a Sunday

  • N B.

I don't know why people think that there is good food here. Probably because when you're drunk everything seems to taste good. However I was not, so the food tasted mediocre at best. The 'famous' fish sandwich had no flavor at all. Service was slow, and they had some cheesy magician begging for tips. Since we didn't have good service or good food, I decided not to tip. Our waiter had the nerve to follow us to the parking lot to our car to ask us if we left a tip or if it "flew away in the wind". I have never felt more threatened in a place that should have been relaxing and tasteful. Completely the opposite!

    (1)
  • Jack C.

Fish sandwich had a roach in it ! Ugh ! Will never go back ... They didn't even offer to comp everyones meal just the sandwich Beware

A fabulous setting on the beach, facing the sunset. There is live music and we went on the night Michael Trixx (a local magician) was performing, so it was a very fun place. The food was good and the service was excellent.

    (5)
  • Todd W.

Yes! This place was within walking distance of where I was staying on Islamorada, and it was a refreshing change after wasting my money the day before at Whale Harbor restaurant. Solid American fare with a good seafood selection, and a great lobster bisque, drinks that'll make ya tipsy for cheap, good live music, and outside ocean-side seating. That'll about do it.

    (4)
  • Michael S.

Nicely rebuilt waterside restaurant. As is typical of keys places, it specializes in beer and fried food. At least it is new and clean and the food is not bad. Good location for winter sunsets.

    (3)
  • John S.

Loved it. Live music, friendly, and great location and views, Great casual bar, and bar food.

    (4)
  • Jessica C.

I loved this place for the view and the rum runners. You have to try one if you go. You can sit right on the beach and watch the sunset plus they had a band the night we were there. I just had a burger and it was really good. We had a really good smoked tuna appetizer as well. You must try this place.

I would have given this zero stars if I could. Hands down the worst breakfast of my life. I ordered the eggs benedict with home fries, which I returned promptly, my husband got eggs with home fries, bacon and an english muffin. The home fries were so off, mushy and cold, but also tasted slightly rotten. I took one bite of the eggs benedict, they use a powder for the hollandaise, I know because it tastes like they put a cup of chalk into it so it was gritty and mealy. I returned it right away, it was so disgusting I couldn't even gag it down. My husband tried to eat a little of the eggs, one piece of bacon and half of an english muffin even thought I warned him not to. I tried his english muffin, which was HALF the size of even the cheap ones you get in the store, it tasted like it had been sitting around for a long time in an attic, dusty? He was sorry later for eating that crap because he got sick that evening and into the next day. I can't believe people eat this garbage, maybe because it's cheap compared to other breakfast spots. These reviews are so off, people come here for the views, drinks, and cheap prices so they must be drunk when they are eating the food. Spare yourself...

  • Pete P.

O.K. there are a lot of reviews here but I've been here probably 20 times and I don't live in the keys. You don't come here for the food although it is average to pretty good bar food, you come for the atmosphere. You can't beat it. In summer it's packed and in the winter it's empty. The service can be slow but who cares, while you are waiting, look around and say to yourself, "what's the rush?". Night time is best without a doubt. Next week I turn 50 and I'll be down in the Keys. I will definitly be here. Probably for a while!

    (5)
  • Jason K.

I am not big into seafood, so I am not the best person to be reviewing a seafood restaurant on the beach in the keys, but here goes nothing. The atmosphere buys them 3 stars. The sunsets are great, there is a live band playing, and there is outdoor seating everywhere. You can catch some fish and bring it in. They will clean and cook it for you. That being said, the burgers and chicken were not great, the wait staff wasn't very motivated, and it was pretty busy. The parking lot is big enough for the crowd, and the docks are plentiful. If you are into fishing and eating seafood, you may give this place a much higher rating, and more power to you!

We stopped here on our way to Key West - unfortunately during an insane rain storm. We sat at the bar and had a couple of drinks (Key Lime Daiquiri of course!). Our food was ok - had the fish tacos and fish sandwich. Not bad, but pretty average. I think we missed out on the overall experience since it was raining. I would check it out again on the long drive - but hopefully without the rain!

Lorelei is one place that had been highly recommended by friends so on a day trip to the keys we decided to stop for lunch. Our stop was on a Tuesday so the place was semi empty. There was plenty of seating and I really liked the way they had the seating spread open with options under the bar area, by the stage to towards the water with sand underneath your feet. We opted for the middle area which on this day was perfect with a cool breeze hitting us. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Looking at the pics from other yelpers I was tempted and decided to have the fish tacos. They were fresh and very big. They came with pico de gallo, avo, and sour cream. Being a big chowder lover I also had me a cup of the snow crab chowder. It was very good but I prefer my chowder a bit more creamer. I also delighted my thirsty self with a Rum Runner with a floater, and yes it was delicious. Now, when one comes to the Keys ambiance is usually a must when picking a place other then the food, so this place definitely has it. The setting is by the water and with a very peaceful feel. Also, a small docking area sits to the right of the restaurant which adds to the whole relaxing feel. On the day I was there, there was no music but they have a great lil stage and they have music each evening starting at 6 pm 365 days weather permitting. I can't wait to drive back and enjoy it. After our great lil lunch we strolled over to the water area where they have lounge chairs set up along and sat there for some time and just enjoyed and took in the scenery as we prepared to head back home. It was hard leaving the tranquil setting but I'm sure we will be back soon.

I'm very happy we stopped here, Matt is an excellent bartender. The food was delicious, I had the clam chowder, pepper crusted tuna and peppercorn salad, everything was foodie qualified delicious. Definitely stop here for lunch.

Stopped for lunch on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Very comfortable restaurant and bar in a lovely setting, complete with live music, and smoke shaded seating. The service was attentive, gracious and friendly, and the menu standard but varied enough that there is something for everyone. The pepper crusted seared tuna appetizer was superb! Was expecting the "same old thing" as everywhere, but the fish was super fresh, and the robust black pepper ample enough to lend its freshly cracked flavor to the dish, as opposed to just being a colorful decoration. My blackened yellowtail sandwich didn't work out, but only because of the fish itself. The blackening seasoning was excellent and the preparation good; this piece was just fishy, but the management was extremely apologetic and gracious, and happily took it off the check. I replaced it with conch chowder, the was rich, flavorful and authentic. Can't wait to go back.

(Actual rating 3.5) We brought our daughter's boyfriend from NJ here as it was his first time in the Keys and I wanted him to have a casual outdoor sunset dining experience. Lorelei filled the bill perfectly. We dined at the water's edge at a 4-top nestled on the beach. Live entertainment provided by a singer/guitarist was a nice touch. I started with a local craft beer "Islamorada Sandbar Sunday" which was crisp and refreshing. Our appetizers were the smoked fish dip, coconut shrimp, and conch fritters. The shrimp were great, the dip was very good, the fritters were just ok, not enough conch IMHO. Entrees included the fish tacos (juicy and flavorful), the Lorelei fish sandwich (fried dolphin a tad bit over fried) and the fish dinner (snapper @ $23.95 market price). The snapper was plentiful and whatever sauce they served on the side made it very delicious. Sides of mixed veggies and fries were meh. We wanted our guest to have Key Lime pie but they didn't have it (??!!??) instead they had some frozen pie concoction which although ok was a mere poseur to the real thing. Our waiter, although not exactly brimming with personality, was attentive and checked on us often. The weather cooperated and we were treated to a bee-utiful sunset. The atmosphere and location of Lorelei are what make it special. The food is kinda hit and miss, but I would probably return and would recommend it, especially for the sunset experience.

Had just checked into our campsite when our new neighbors came over. They asked if we would like to join them at Lorelei for happy hour, dinner and a magic show. We said sure. Arrived at about 4:30 and grabbed a table near the stage on the outdoor deck. Ordered some drinks, very good, and some dinner. Hubby had a chicken burger and I opted for the cheese quessadilla. We also ordered the spinach and artichoke dip. All was good. Listened to the live band play, then watched the magician. Good service, great views.

Great location and beautiful setting for dinner. Food was okay but not equal to the ambiance. Service was fair. Our waiter was working his tail off. They need more help to make the experience a 4 star however it wasn't so bad that we wouldn't return. Definitely and enjoyable time with family.

0We came in on a Thursday night around 8pm. Let me start by saying the live band was amazing. Stacey was our server and honestly she looked like she was in over her head,l. She ran over and dropped menus and silverware after we were s9tting for a few minutes and said she would be back and was gone before we could even look up. She finally came back and seemed to be in a rush. At this time we were ready to order everything. We ordered drinks, appetizers and entrees. The drinks were amazing, including the rum punch and margarita. This was probably the best part of our meal,l. As for the food it was pretty bad. I had the coconut shrimp which tasted rubbery. We also had a Spanish and atichoke dip, the dip was good but the chips tasted stale. Another person we were with had the new England clam chowder, and when I asked how it was, the response was "it's better than publix." As for our sandwiches they were sub par as well, the burger was a frozen patty. The turkey club was pretty good, but how could you really screw that up. The fries came out cold and soggy. Overall, this isn't some place I'd write home about. The food was pretty weak but if you are looking for a place to come enjoy good drinks, a beautiful sunset and great live music, it's perfect. Just avoid the food if you are looking for a good meal.

Just had an early dinner, enjoyed everything! The blackened Mahi Mahi with lemon caper sauce was delicious as well as the Coconut Shrimp. Finished dinner with a slice of Key Lime Pie. Wish we could have waited for the sunset, but had to get on the road. Will stop in next time we are on our way to Key West!!!

We ate here for a sunset dinner tonight. The view was spectacular! I suggest arriving at least an hour before sunset since the tables by the water fill up quick. I'm not a seafood person so I ordered the philly cheese steak sandwich with coleslaw and a side of onion rings. The coleslaw is not what this Georgia gal is used to. It was vinegar based and didn't have any mayo in it. So the taste wasn't appealing to me. The sandwich was huge and filled with tons of cheesy steak, peppers and onions. If you're looking for a great place for the sunset, then you've come to the right place! It's a very casual, seat yourself, very fun atmosphere with a live band every night kind of restaurant.

This place is SO good. We had 4 drinks, 2 apps and 2 entrees and the bill was $80. Pretty cheap compared to where I live (Naples) plus amazing view and cute manatees:)

Great venue... Good drinks... But come on, arrogant better-than-thou staff... Good country band tonight, a crowd pleaser... But bar staff kept dissing them... Very Un cool, c'mon guys, this is the keys. Overall though, good views, good views , good drinks !

You can't beat lunch by the beach, sea plane in the lagoon, guests arriving by boat. Does the food really even matter? Of course my boys ordered cheeseburgers, suffice it to say, in paradise... Oh, I had fish

Was recommended by boat tour guided. Was excited as this was reported to be the best in area. The sunset was perfect, but service not so much. Disorganized, ordered drinks, but they were forgotten. Ordered appetizers they too were forgotten. The waiter asked us three times if we were sure we hadn't gotten them... Food was ok, but not the best. Bland and very pricey for the plate and service. The best part was happy hour price beer 1.25 that was great. The setting and band pretty good. All else below average, didn't hate it but wouldn't go back

THE place to view a wonderful keys sunset. and honestly..not a bad place to grab some grub while waiting for the sun to dazzle us . Lorelei screams..Florida Keys..and in a very positive way. we landed a nice table right by waters edge..and we lucked out with a truly wonderful server beth(from Boston) who made our evening even more enjoyable. we both started with pina coladas...cold and tasty. beth highly recommended the stone crab chowder..out of this world delicious. wife had a surprisingly good spinach salad....beth told me I'd like the cracked conch sandwich. Another positive suggestion. she warned me it might be a bit chewy but very tasty and she was right on! we split a key lime pie a la mode for dessert. Place was very crowded but a truly respectful crowd...of all ages. Sunset was gorgeous..live music was enjoyable..a must do on your Florida Keys bucket list.

So apparently this is a Florida "Institution" and I'm just hearing about it. Thankfully, on a beautiful, blue sky, sunny day, we went and I got to try this amazing place. Right on the water, with high top tables at the bar, some regular tables on the side, and, of course, bar seating, you come here to relax, enjoy the drinks, light conversation with the patrons, and, even more, the delicious fresh food they serve. We started seating at the bar, with a Miami Vice, that they let me try first (thank you!). I'm not a fan of frozen drinks but they seem to be famous here so I went for it. It wasn't bad, not too sweet and they top it off with a shot of dark rum. No problem... at one point I was a "pro" at drinks with 151 shots in it :p One look at the menu, which has quite a lot of good options, and I knew I was going for the Shrimp Tacos. We got the fish dip as well to start. Like I said, everything is fresh. You can definitely taste it in every bite. The food took less than 20 minutes to come out. The fish dip is one of the best I've ever had. No way to describe it and make it justice, just go try it! The Tacos were 3 soft tortillas, filled with good size shrimp (about 3pcs per taco), lettuce, tomato, lots of cheese, and cilantro mayo. Absolutely amazing. They give you a side of guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo but really, you won't need to add any of it to the tacos. They are perfectly delicious just as they come out. It started to get a little too hot, the sun hitting us right on our backs where we were seated so, we moved to one of the high tables. Immediately, people already seating there said hi, started conversations with us, such a cool, laid back place, and they let you bring your dogs too (which I love). We were there for maybe 3 hours and it felt like it was nothing. That's how relaxing being there is. You feel like on vacation, with no worries at all. Time stands still, as if Lorelei was a refuge for those wanting to escape "real" life for a little while. With patrons and employees so friendly, the peaceful view, the wonderful food and drinks, they have achieved just that. Too bad is such a long drive but, definitely one I would love doing again. Oh, and we didn't get to stay to see the sunset but, even on our drive back it was majestic. If you get the chance, stay the extra time and enjoy it there.

Mahi Reuben was soooo good! Rye bread, fisherman's slaw, and thousand island with the mahi fish blackened the perfect sandwich. The happy hour specials were a great value only 1.25 for domestic drafts! We liked this place so much we headed there again the next day. This time I had the fish tacos also good but I could do without the cheese. I also tried the bushwaker with a floater a frozen mudslide drink, very strong but Delish. The service was also very good for how busy this place is.

Maybe I was expecting something more. This place had been hyped as a "must go!!!!!" place to eat, so I ensured I found time to stop by. We had lunch here, just after a rain actually. They had done a decent job of covering up chairs and the like to keep them from being wet. The view is lovely. Not the best I saw in the keys, but lovely. Definitely sit as far out towards the water as you can (and therefore most likely in the sun). The view is better over there. Drinks were ok. Not very strong, which was disappointing. I had the fried shrimp platter. Shrimp was fresh, but not the best quality I had eaten in the keys. The breading rather overwhelmed the shrimp, hiding the subtle flavor. The fries were pretty standard. Service was extremely friendly and very "keys". Overall I enjoyed myself enough I don't regret going...but I don't think I'd call this an institution or a must-see.

Casual, seat-yourself-right-on-the-beach atmosphere. Watch the sunset from your table, very beautiful location. They had live entertainment. The first was a cover band and the second was a magician. Loved it! Service was alright, nothing outstanding but they were very packed so it was understandable. Food did come out in a timely manner. I ordered a fish sandwich, which was good and reasonably priced, especially compared to other places that served the exact same type of seafood bar food. Also had the conch fritters, which didn't taste like fried dough, so that was a plus. As a closing comment, I do have to rave about the key lime colada. It tastes like they liquified a key lime pie and stuck a straw in it. It's AMAZING.

Pretty tasty spot. I had to drink the Key Lime Colada which was a Key Lime pie in a glass. Pretty sweet so I would have to be in just the right mood for one...and luckily I was. The view is very nice. The food, so so. I had some fried shrimp tacos which were good, but not great. Wanted to have a mixture of fish and shrimp (even said I would be willing to pay the higher price for all three) but that's evidently not allowed. Oh well.

Wonderful place to enjoy a sunset. The music is fantastic, the singer sounds just like Neil Young. Just the noisy magician show is kind of destroying the mood there. The tuna nachos were excellent, whereas the fresh fish was so-la-la, not the best on the Keys.

Second review. We arrived late (around 8) on a Saturday, and almost could not find a table. Food was good, but not as stellar as the last time. Band was better. Our waitress was run off her feet, but did a great job.

Dined here on a busy Memorial Day weekend. The no reservations/seat yourself system worked out well for us, with us finding a table in about 5 minutes. Tuna nacho appetizer was really good, with nice pieces of fresh tuna on crisp chips. Grilled chicken quesadillas were also a hit. I had the snapper dinner, which was a generous portion of fresh snapper. Nice band playing and a good dockside view.

We went there on a Monday night. Referred by several locals. Loved it!!! Happy hour 4 to 6, we got there at 4:15 and had our choice of seats. Sat right by the band. Margaritas for $3.50 from 4 to 6. Dinner was hugh spinach salad for me and the hubby had Mahi tacos. Delicious! Live music started at 5. The Daft Like Jack band was 2 people but they sounded great. The magic show with Michael Trixx, from America's Got Talent, was really cool!!! The sunset was everything you'd want or would ever want in the Keys!!!! Highly recommend.

  • Kiarra S.

Perfect for watching the sunset! Right on the water with sand under your feet. Live music and cheap drinks. Food was okay. Nothing to write home about. I had the mahi tacos which were skimpy. I added avocado to my tacos which made them a little better

We were staying at Cheeca Lodge and found this place less than a mile from the resort. We just finished lunch and everything was delicious. Conch fritters, fried mahi mahi tacos, shrimp quesadillas and fried shrimp dinner all prepared to perfection. Our server Barbara was a bit gruff but the food came quickly. Highly recommended! We will be putting this on our "must dine here" list for our next trip to the Keys!

A must do for happy hour (live music) and sunset views... OH, and a Michael Trixx Magic Show!... Must have the Mahi Fish Tacos along with Yuengling beer. Bring the kids so they can participate in the Magic Show... Heck, my Dentist who vacates to "Florida" has been to Lorelei and saw Michael Trixx. Great Memories!

Poorly prepared frozen food. The cook, I couldn't use the microwave if the instruction were tattooed on his forehead. The outdoor dining is a beautiful location, not enough to made up for average food overcooked & undercooked on the same ticket. The soup was still frozen, the chicken looked & bounced like a Halloween rubber chicken.

Been here a few times never let's me down. Food is great, really fresh and drinks are awesome! You can get a table right on the sand! Live band, great music.

  • Chad W.

Lorelei has a nice relaxed atmosphere; it's a place to get a drink, get dinner, or both. There's a bar area as well as an expansive "dining area" on the sand. Not the kind of place you'd bring a client in dress shoes. Service here is none too rapid, but this is the type of place where you come to relax, watch a sunset, listen to live music on occasion, and just soak in the good life. Their blackened mahi sandwich is one of the better in the area that I've had, but not as good as Ma's. I asked about their beer selection and was told a list of crap macros, but on leaving I saw they actually did have a decent selection. Decent for the Keys, that is...but it's not going to win any awards anytime soon. To find this place, you have to park up front, walk past the bait store, walk along the marina, then you have the option to sit in the front bar, back bar, or on the sand/table area. We weren't guided...we just kind of had to figure it out. Not too hard, but it's a large place so hopefully that little tip will get you a drink in your hand just a bit faster.

The outdoor area is nice and they have love music which is always a plus. Kids can play in the water next to the outdoor tables which are on sand . The 'draft beer' is served in 10 oz plastic cups and the burger is obviously a frozen patty. The food is really just average. Not much to write home about at all.

  • Rick F.

This place has a great atmosphere. Right on the water, lots of outdoor seating and a host of friendly staff that really does a good job staying up on the drinks. The food is another story. I'm a burger and fries kinda guy and while the portions were adequately large, it was fairly flavorless and everything on it was out of a bag. The burger was a commissary, frozen patty and the spinach dip was atrocious. They had a band playing that would have been better if they would have ditched the lead singer and older guitar player. The lead guitarist, bass player and drummer would have killed it as a trio. The singer lady had 4-5 children that were with her, at a table next to the stage, at a bar, on a Saturday night.... Ummmmm ....... Anyway. We met a local couple that gave us some awesome places to go and so far they have all been on point. The recommendations were the best thing we took from this experience.

Stopped by Lorelei's on the way down to Key West. The location is beautiful. You sit right out on the decks by the water. The Key Lime Colada is definitely a great choose on their drink menu. Rum runners are also quite good. Some real relaxing acoustic music played while we were there. It was a laid back vibe. Fried pickles were really good. The garlic mixed with the sweet pickles made them really good. As for the group, everyone was pretty satisfied with food between Mahi tacos, shrimp tacos, pulled pork, crab legs, a chicken sandwich, and a portobello burger. Its a great stop to break up the drive between Miami and Key West.

We had a beautiful sunset dinner on the beach. Little happy hour 4-6 then, crab chowder and 1/2 lbs of shrimp. My girl friend had the fish tacos. The food was good, the live band was good, great ambiance. We went on a Saturday, we were happy we went early (4:00), it gets crowded pretty fast.

Come here for drinks, sit on the beach, and enjoy the company. The food is good too! We always make it a point to stop here wen we are on the way down to Key West. Life in the keys is amazing and you can enjoy it here!

  • Lee B.

The live entertainment was awesome he really was awesome but, the drinks and service were horrendous. The beer was flat and the mudslide tasted like Nesquick and rum. Didn't try the food because of the reviews we read prior to going there and from what we saw of others plates wasting around us we are glad we didn't.

  • D K.

This place should be great but for their "seat yourself" policy. It's got a great view of the water and is largely situated on a beach, and they usually have a musician playing. On a busy night, you should be able to have a great time relaxing in this kind of setting. Unfortunately, you could be faced with some of the most annoying parts of human nature when you have two people who arrive at a similar time and both desperately want the same table. This happened to us, and a family slightly more aggressive and arriving slightly later than us took the table we were waiting for and proceeded to pretend we didn't exist. Anyways, this kind of situation probably happens here all the time. We went to the bar, got a drink, and went to another restaurant which we knew had a standard seating policy. I'm sure it doesn't affect their business too much, but I suspect the demoralizing effect of the seating process wears off on the staff. I know when we sat down, the sense was "waiter I've been fighting to get this table for 20 minutes, so can you please bus this table immediately and get us our damned drinks." So customers sit down already overly expectant of their waiter, and waiters are even edgier than they normally would be during a rush. Maybe it's just our family, but we probably won't be trying the Lorelei's experience again because of these dynamics. It's an easy fix and hopefully they can change it up!

Don't be fooled by the 4star review. It's just for the location of the restaurant. Very poor and slow service. Bad drinks. Has a coke and it tasted horrible. Order crabs and it was just full of air! Very bad quality of food. Just a good hangout of drunken people.

What a great place, for sunset it is spectacular. For beach dining, it is unparalleled. For breakfast it is beautiful. For pricing it is affordable. Do not miss this place. We are locals and heartily recommend Lorelei's to everyone who comes our way. Also, we have to take people to see Michael Trixx...very entertaining! If you ever get a chance, make sure you get Jackie as your server. She is aware, conscientious, notices your needs and she is drop-dead pretty!!!

Dined her last night. Pretty cool place to visit whether you have a boat or not. The stone crab soup was very good. I asked if it was made in house and the server said yes but I'm pretty sure it isn't. It was still delicious. The tuna tacos were alright. The wasabi sauce was overpowering and the tuna was warm. It could potentially make you sick if not kept at the appropriate temperature. My partner had the chicken sandwich. He thought it paired very well with the mango slaw. The best part of our dinning experience was the live band.

Local spot with a great view. We had a terrific lunch and the Key Lime mixed drink that we had was amazing! Would have loved to stay for the band that night, but we were on our way to Key West. Conch Frittters: We all tried them, nicely prepared but not our thing. Mahi Mahi: Outstanding

    (4)
  • Megan R.

Service was unfriendly. Food was poor quality. Ordered the eggs Benedict with bacon instead of ham, and conch republic with grits. The hollandaise sauce was terrible and tasted like it was made from powder, bacon was stringy and fatty, mahi on the conch republic was described as "generous" but wasn't. Grits were flavorless. Do yourself a favor and go down to the green turtle inn down the road.

  • Janie M.

Great spot to watch the sunset. It's almost too loud to have a conversation if you sit in the area where the band plays but right outside that area is much quieter. Service is slow, food is average at best. My kids live fish and did not like the fried fish on the kids meal-large portion but they didn't need it. I had a mahi sandwich and sweet potato fries. Pretty boring. One family with us had the appetizer sampler platter and enjoyed that. If we come again I will stick with appetizers and drinks. Great photo spot. Band was good, just a bit loud. It's really a shame they can't get it together and be known for an amazing sunset AND meal.

I came with four friends for lunch and this place has a perfect setup. There is a little beach you can hang out and eat at in back. The fish is very fresh and frozen key lime pie is delicious. The clam chowder is a good choice as well.

Not the Lorelei I remember and sadly so. Revisited this location after several years absence. Initial visit was memorable. But now..the view was still there as was the ambience but the food and service were the worse I have ever experienced. Server was missing most of the time and it was a long wait both for the entrees on both ocassions, why two servings? because the initial entree was not what was ordered and finally the bill. I could not wait to get out of there. The waiter made errors with the entree-both the initial order and the re-order attempt. His attitude was insufferable and snobbish. The food was poor in quality for a supposedly simple meal-fish sandwich and also compared to competitors nearby. Did I mention I just wanted to get away from there as quickly as possible? Never again. Never again. Go to Islamorada Fish Company instead. Hold on until you get there.

The sunset is amazing, the drinks are tasty, the fish sandwich is decent but nothing to write a big long love letter over it. Service is suspect, it's seat yourself, and we got out main dish first then our appetizer. Come for drinks and the sunset and then go get dinner somewhere else. The live music is a bonus though. Another tip would be to get get your check when you get your food.

This place is in a great location. My friend grew up in Key Largo and swore by this place. We went to the Lorelei the first time May 28th. We set up on their little beach area, which is about 4-5 ft from the dining tables. My group and I hung out for about 20 mins and didn't see any servers. I walked to the outside bar to be greeted by the angry male bartender, who advised me he was setting up the bar. My group and I walked to the main bar. We ordered some drinks and appetizers. We asked the bartender to split our bill up, so we could pay separately. The bartender got visually angry, huffing and puffing that we should have told him when ordering. The bar wasn't that busy, Memorial Day was the before and it seemed to just be local people. We went back to our beach spot and decided to get another round of drinks. 30-45mins had passed, so we went back to the outside mini bar. The angry bartender told us the bar still wasn't ready and he wasn't scheduled to be open for another 10mins. We ended up leaving and going to Hog Heaven. We gave the Lorelei another shot this past week while visiting Key Largo again. We actually had a great waitress Wed July 10, during the day. Friendly, helpful, etc. She served us at the tables by the beach area. We had a great time and spent about 2-3hrs hanging out. We went back Thurs, I guess the normal angry staff was back on shift. We showed up at shift change. We got a lot of "I' m not ready yet" "I'm just getting off shift, your server should be here soon". We let about 15mins pass so the staff could situate. My friend walked to the outside bar and was advised, once again by the bartender that she wasn't ready. The manager actually saw my friend looking for service and stopped a staff member and asked "Are you on the clock?, then you can take an order". The Lorelei is a great location and the food is decent, but the service sucks! I am actually a bartender, so I know how the service industry is. I don't expect great service everywhere, I know people have down days. The staff at the Lorelei seem angry about working. At the end of the day they don't have to work in the service industry. Get a job somewhere else if you don't want to deal with people...

We went to this place for lunch after reading great reviews...maybe it was an off day when we went, because neither my husband nor I was that impressed. The view is beautiful and I am sure watching the sunset from the restaurant would be amazing, but the service was terrible. It took fifteen minutes for our waiter to notice we sat down (it was seat yourself). Islamorada was extremely crowded that weekend, so we decided to stay instead of waiting longer at another restaurant. We definitely enjoyed the view while we waited. Finally, someone came over to take our order and then we only saw him once more when he dropped off the bill. The food was cold and greasy. All in all, probably wouldn't go back. There are other great restaurants that also have a gorgeous view and much better food and service.

Amazing sunset mixed with a cold Islamorada Sandbar Sunday (local beer) was a perfect end to my long day of fishing! Great food and good service, highly recommended.

The setting is the best part of it! You eat right on the water it's a beautiful. I had a burger and although it was nothing special but it was good. The fries weren't the best but still ok. I'd give it a second shot the next time I come down just for the setting

As my 3 year old stated "daddy, your tacos are stinky." How a place with snapper swimming at the patrons feet can serve fetid fish tacos is beyond me. We have removed the to go boxes of fish tacos from our house because multiple family members are nauseous from the smell. Though, the restaurant is not all bad. Please feel free to enjoy the lovely sunsets in view from the deck. The view is only slightly hazy from the cigarette exhalations of the wheezing wharf hags and want to be Harley buffets. Harley Buffets are a sad fusion of upper, mid aged parboiled man crabs who love the complexity of jimmy buffet as well as the cache of a proper Hog. Don't forget to order one of their famous margaritas. They are almost as good as the tacos. Lots of sugar, almost no fresh fruit, and the best cheap tequila they can shoot out of their fruit fly breeding bottle.

Great setting with many spots to hang out and watch the sun go down! People were everywhere----next time we'll go earlier, like an hour before sunset. We liked the band--they were decent musicians and did some nice covers of popular songs ("Rocket Man", "Sweet Home Alabama", ) in addition to original work. The bar tender was working his ass off to get everybody served; there was a private function that apparently resulted in them being short-staffed, however waiters flying by were friendly and in good spirits. Drinks were very reasonable: $12.50 total for our two well drinks. Couldn't get a table because of the crowd, but it was great just seeing a perfect sunset amid other people also having fun. So this review is not including any food. We will go back and hopefully stay longer for dinner. Probably the best setting for a drink at sunset ever!

Excellent breakfast stop on the way down to the keys. We had a Bloody Mary and breakfast. Food was good- just a bit on the greasy side. Service was quick and view was killer. Worth the stop!

Gorgeous location. We only stopped for a drink, but it was nice and strong. The staff was busy but friendly and the patrons were lively. Great spot to catch the sunset. Super casual.

I think food reviews should be about food. Not about ambience. Though there are definitely cafes I go to because they are nice to sit in, not because the food is nice. And I pay money for that. But some places are not known for their food, but known for their ambience. And going in with that knowledge makes it acceptable when you are chewing the same piece of your mouth the twentieth time, wondering how bad it is to spit it out and hide it underneath some vegetables. Lore-e-lei is a nice place, in terms of location, with a beautiful view of the water and boats, and in the early morning the sun is shining on your back to give you that nice morning heat massage. But even a good view can be ruined by miserable people. The servers at the bar never cracked a smile when they talked to me. The roll (consisting of napkin, knife, fork) was plopped in from of me with a thunk. And when I got the bill, and commented that I never ordered a coffee (because it showed up on the bill) the only response was "I can get them to change that." There was never a "thank you" or "please". Never a "how are you". I have met these people before. Older ladies with brown brown skin, sun-damaged from sunworship over the decades. I guess it isn't the most pleasant thing to be working as a waitress. I'm sure they don't do it for fun. But they also make it un-fun for me. I had thought about wandering around on the patio area after I finished a meal, but given the atmosphere created by their attitudes decided it would be best to just leave. They obviously don't want me there. (obviously the food wasn't anything to write home about)

Great place to watch the sunset! Came here because of the Yelp reviews and was really glad we did. Got there about 45 minutes before sunset. The place looked pretty busy but we were able to find a table for our party of 8 with no wait. They had a band playing some good music when we first got there. They stopped playing right after sunset. After we got to see a great sunset, Mike Tricks started his magic show. He performs on Wednesday nights. It was a pretty good show. Food- It was good but not great. I had the catch of the day sandwich. You have a choice of grilled, fried, or blackened. I got grilled and the fish was tuna. My sandwich was really big and I ended up just eating the fish and leaving the bread. My brother got the same thing but fried and swears that it was the best fish sandwich he's ever had. They had stone crab chowder on special that I tried and that was pretty good. Overall it was a great experience and I'm so glad that we went!

Capered mahi mahi was overcooked and chewy. When we told them they were nice about it and offered another dish, but we just asked for them to take it off the bill which they did. Most of the food was cold when we got it. Clam chowder was delicious but probably wouldn't go back for food. Beers on tap were good and reasonably priced.

Great atmosphere but very disappointed in the food. Ordered shrimp tacos and hubby ordered prime rib wrap. The shrimp was grilled but extremely salty. I was unable to eat them and was not offered any compensation when I complained to the waiter. The prime rib wrap taste like bacon.....was not a good choice. Again when we told the waiter he just took the food and dumped it in garbage with no offer of compensation. The waiter was nice but did not know anything about the craft beer he served us. When we questioned him after tasting them about which was the ale and which was the wheat he said he must have given us the wrong ones. Very pretty place to have a drink and relax but would definitely would not recommend it for eating.

Great place to have a drink and listen to live music. Food was mediocre-cold when we got it, rubbery conch, bland onion rings. 5 stars for location, 2 stars for food

A beautiful place to stop for sunset. There are a lot of Florida Keys cats walking around. I think we may have taken our best sunset pictures here ever! But most of them are in storage. We even won a photo contest with them! The Florida Keys cats are all taken care of by local vets and not feral at all. Most of them get fresh fish from local restaurants and will turn away canned food if you go buy them some like we did! The cats are not to be pitied but envied! They are living it up on the beach in the Keys! But anyway we just had an appetizer of smoked fish and some drinks. It is the sunset celebration that is memorable!

Beautiful scenery paired with excellent breakfast choices makes for a perfect morning ! The Spanish omelet was delish. Friends tell me this is one of the most valuable places to go for good prices and descent portions in or near islamorada! The water is crystal clear and full of sea life.

Very comfortable and laid back great views for sunset watching along with tropical music. The food is average and we highly recommend the mango daiquiri. They have a live band that plays music and the atmosphere is great.

If you are looking for something nice and romantic, this is NOT your place. This American cousin of the Rhine mermaid is rather expansive, crowded and loud (not really what you come to expect from a mermaid but hey, this is the US baby) but also extremely welcoming. Your best bet? Come here for happy hour and prime sunset watching. Beers are cheap and fresh, pair very well with conch fritters and their fish mousse and nothing beats orange skies over the water while relaxing on the shore. Come early to get a spot right by the water and watch the fish dance in the dusk, and then order another beer. Relax, you are in the Keys and life is damn good.

I went to this cute restaurant yesterday. I arrived just when the sun was peaking above the sea and the band was playing. It was a bit too windy, our saucers kept on flying off of the table, but it was a pleasant day eating some burgers and enjoying the band. The only reason why I am knocking off one star is because the "Lorelei World Famous Madeira Bay Fish Sandwich"wasn't the greatest item on the menu. The fish had no taste to it... I had to dunk it in the separate sauce that came with it to make it pleasant. BUUUUT We had ordered shrimp & Sunset conch fritters & some mojitos. The drink was awesome and they didn't skimp out on the alcohol (like many restaurants in my area). & the basket of shrimp were awesome (they put it a whole bunch of bay seasoning so it has an extra umph to it) & the conch fritters were finger licking gooooooooood. The waiters were attentive & always checking up to make sure we were happy. I will definitively visit again and maybe try out another burger.

Great sunset view, mediocre and overpriced, get there early. Our last night in the keys- wanted to find a nice place to sit on the water and watch the sun go down. Our hotel manager recommended Loralei, and I will say the view of the sunset was pretty damn good. We got there at 7, about an hour before sunset. Almost had a huge problem- no host: seat yourself, dog-eat-dog, find someone getting their check so you can ask them to bequeath you their table, gladiator survival style seating. Fortunately, my college roommate had decided to join us from Orlando, and she happens to be gorgeous- she had no problem inheriting a table from 5 fishing buddies who were probably planning on staying at least another half hour. The food was decent but far from memorable. In traditional keys fashion, it costs twice what it should. I had the "World Famous Conch Sandwich," begging the question what it takes for an establishment to use the words "World Famous" on their menu/ marketing. It was a fried piece of conch in roll with a stingy amount of lettuce, tomato, onion, fries, and some weird sauce. To me, it implies that at some point, someone from another country had this same sandwich, went home, and told his countryman how for $13, he really expected more from his sandwich. I guarantee you no one makes Loralei a destination, having heard from the international grapevine about their conch sandwich. Expect a great sunset view, expect overpriced, average, and pedestrian keys fare. Don't expect more and your expectations will be met.

Nice bar and restaurant located by a marina. Nice outdoor seating and really fab sunset views. The food is good simple food (don't expect anything fancy, it is just standard American style food).

So disappointed. Been coming here the past few years. Our waitress doubled as a bartender. She obviously let our food sit a long time under lights. Our plastic containers with sauces were melted. Would have sent the food back but waited over an hour for our food. Thank you for the food poisoning at 1am. We were there with our 7 yr old daughter. And for an outdoor venue we all wreaked of cigarette smoke. This has always been the first place we go for dinner when in the keys. I would never go back with my family. We had to go to the bar to get our drinks every time from our waitress. Really annoying. More annoying is the food poisoning ruining my trip right now.

After reading all the super reviews we decided to give Loerlei a try to enjoy the sunset and dinner. The vibe was nice as was the music. After that, it's hard to find something positive to say. First off, there is no hostess so you have to seat yourself which means that you have to hover over other diners hoping to get their table. It's an unpleasant way to begin the evening. In our case, it would have been better not to sit at all. We ordered at 7:00 or so - nothing fancy. Two kids fish fingers and two grilled snapper sandwiches. At 7:20 my husband asked the server how much longer it would be. The server replied, "Oh, it'll be at least another 30 minutes." We were upset because our kids were tired and we would not have stayed had we known that the wait would be 45 minutes. In the end, we waited over an hour for mediocre food. We will NOT be returning.

The food is great. Atmosphere and music is wonderful. However, the service was so terrible. Server named Texas - should not be in this industry. He has no people skills and was very confused throughout the night. It's possible he was not sober throughout the night. Great place to go just don't sit with that server.

Absolutely love the location, the atmosphere and the sunsets. The food was pretty good but it was everything else that kept us coming back 3 times in a week. And the key lime pie was the best we found in the Keys. Great place we would highly recommend!

First of all my boyfriend got food poisoning from the burger here. That sucked. That said, and realizing that can happen almost anywhere, I'll say that this is a great location. We were there pretty late at night, and it was a fairly rowdy party scene at the party. Not a family place at night. Food was ok for bar food.

Come here for sunset. Saturday night had live music and a beautiful sunset over the bay. I think during the day they have a lot of boat tours leaving from the area, so I can imagine the area is overrun by tourists for lunch... but at night there are a good number of locals who make the place feel homey. We arrived at around 4:30pm and got a fantastic table in the bar, overlooking the bay and looking straight onto the bandstand. Boat parking was limited, we should have driven the car, we'll remember next time. Sean was our server and he was freaking awesome, very attentive and gave us daily recommendations of where to go and what to do. The rum drinks were STRONG and we just kept them coming. Band was great, they took recommendations and played a nice variety of genres. Conch fritters were not that great, they were too crunchy and maybe sandy? The coconut shrimp was great, as was the tuna dinner. We were really there for the drinks :) We will be back!

Went there on Saturday night and was suprised to see several open tables. The host said we could pick our favorite table and have a seat, so we did. we waited about 15 minutes and asked the host if the waiter was around, the host said he is with a table right now but he will be right with you so i sat down and waited patiently again. 10 more minutes go by and i get up again, this time i inquire who the waiter is and i get the same reply. To try and speed things up i asked the host if i could have some menus so we could be ready with our food order by the time the waiter comes around. the host simply points over to the stand across the table and mentions they are over there if you want to grab them....hmm something tells me they did not want our business so we all got up and left! We ended up going to Islamorada Fish Company and had an amazing dinner with great service!!!!

For a mix of locals & passers through this is a great spot to grab some grub and watch the sunset. Decent prices and food. We kept bumping into folks (waitstaff and diners) we met there around Islamorada. That was adorbs and made us feel like long weekend locals. Thanks Lorelei.

While vacationing in the Florida Keys we went here, pretty much because of the magic show. Everything was fantastic. The view was amazing, we enjoyed the live music and loved the magic show. All of the food & drinks we ordered were super. Service was top notch.

Returned this past April and the place was jamming. It was a Saturday early evening and they had a live cover band and majic show going on. We danced all night and closed the place down in our flip flops and shorts. Gotta love the Keys. This time I tried the steamed crab legs, which were pretty good, and my bf had the steak. I really dig this place. Very romantic, fun, and carefree. Just the way I like it. Will definitely return!

Pros: gorgeous location, beautiful views, awesome live music, great atmosphere, food came out fast. Only reason this gets any stars! Cons: food was terrible and waitress was never to be found. Had 5 people at the table and only one person enjoyed their meal! Main complaints: food was bland and I swear my entire plate had been microwaved. My Meal was barely warm, in fact vegetables were downright cold, (and speaking of those: there was not even a HINT of seasoning-not even SALT! - on the vegetables), chicken was tough like the frozen kind you reheat, and French fries were the crinkle kind that tasted like they'd sat out too long before making it too my plate. Tried my parents' fried shrimp and coconut shrimp- rubbery and tough (and cold) on both accounts. My dad was so disappointed he didn't finish his meal. The kitchen area is in a four walled, screened in area. Maybe I'm filling in to many gaps with my imagination, but when I think of normal restaurants' kitchens, i can hear the clinking of utensils and sizzling grills with steam bellowing out as stuff is flipped and added and the clatter of food being made fresh and fast. Here as i looked through the screened in windows, there were no sounds, no steam, nothing. The only thing I saw from the kitchen was a waitress plunging her bare hands into a bowl of fruit left on the counter, covered in Saran Wrap, and adding the fruit to someone's plate. Sad we spent some vacation money on terrible food. It's really too bad, because I would've loved to stay and enjoy the view and music.

Ok so we came late. We wanted food. Was told the kitchen closes In 15 min. Felt rushed. I ordered philly cheese steak. Came out good time. I asked what was the cheese on it. I was told cheese whiz. Well I expect eating out at a bar restaurant It would be real cheese. It tasted ok. The cole slaw was gross. Ate two bites. No clue what they put in It. It's 10pm and they r cleaning up around me making me feel uncomfortable. They close at 12. The only people at the bar are a waitress and her boyfriend. Maybe its better during the day ???

If you come for a meal during prime dinner time, be prepared to hunt (stalk) down either a free table or one that has diners preparing to depart. If you come for the sunset, they have a great area in the back where you can dine and watch the sunset as well as snap some good photos. Also, be prepared to wait for everything or don't be if you're there for a lazy evening of enjoying good company and good drinks. Now for the food. My table shared the conch fritter appetizer, my mother inlaw and I had the blackened snapper sandwich and my wife and father inlaw had the cracked conch sandwich. Our wait for the conch fritters was quite a bit long, longer than it should be for something that is typically prepped ahead of time and quickly fried. Overall, they were OK. Just a bit of a piece of conch in each, better than when it is shredded and you only taste the batter. The dipping sauce seemed to be a mix of cocktail and mustard sauce, this was spicy and very nice. Everyone enjoyed their sandwiches, fries were good but the coleslaw left a lot to be desired. Heavy on the onions and vinegar, very little cabbage and what seemed to be relish. The snapper was a generous size broken into two stacked portions. They should spend some time looking for a better vendor for their rolls as I felt they overpowered the sandwich. The fish on it's own was very good. I had to drink a Long Island Iced Tea which was fantastic. Blended perfectly and there was not an overwhelming taste of alcohol. I also had a Dark and Stormy. This needs work, avoid at all costs. It tasted as if it was made with Spiced Rum instead of Dark/Black Rum and with Ginger Ale or another carbonated fake ginger soda instead of real ginger beer. Note to the owner's get some REED'S ginger beer. My wife had a Rum Runner with a rum floater and it was very, very good. I don't enjoy frozen drinks but this one with the floater was very good and I could enjoy several. Great place to come and enjoy some solid food and good drinks very leisurely late into the evening.

Great seating on the beach. Take your sunglasses. This is a fun place... They had a two person band playing the first night we were there later in the week we heard a Jimmy Buffet want-a-be sing ... Not bad. They have some good drinks, food was good, excellent place to experience the Keys dining atmosphere.

We stopped by here for a drink before dinner at Morada Bay and so glad we did! We snagged a table right at the water and watched the beginning of the sunset while listening to some good island music. It was very inexpensive too and almost stayed for dinner but we had heard too many good things about the other place so we moved down the street.

My friend who often travels to the Keys on business recommended this place when I mentioned I would be going down for a day trip. His recommendation did not disappoint! We sat ourselves at a table on the dock right by the water and the view was fabulous! They also had seating on the sand but we did not notice that until after we ordered. Regardless, every seat in the house is a good one! We told our waitress Sharon that we had never been there and she was quick to recommend some favorites. The Key Lime Pie adult beverage was AMAZING! It was like drinking a perfectly flavored Key Lime Pie. I also had some New England Clam Chowder, which was rich with flavor and chock full of clams YUM! Then we ordered the Mahi Tacos. They offer them blackened, grilled, or fried and we opted for fried. The portion was huge and the mahi was expertly prepared. We enjoyed the view, people watched, and had a nice leisurely lunch- it was perfect! If you go, ask for Sharon and definitely get the Key Lime Pie Colada!

great happy hour, food is very good, staff is relaxed and attentive, this is a local bar-restaurant and there is smoking at the bar area for all the local, coconut shrimp is excellent, one drawback is the @#$%^ barking dogs the evening I was there with my date, very annoying and didn't add a thing to the evening, they have this patio and locals and tourists bring their dogs (leave them at home!!!!, this is a restaurant not Petco) only response was that people should keep the dogs quiet, right, and people should do this and that but they don't.

We have been coming here for years and could not wait to spend my birthday there on Saturday..Big disappointment! The atmosphere always gets 5 stars but food was horrible. Had coconut shrimp or should I say greasing with a little shrimp. Bacon wrapped shrimp horrible as well and had to get the "famous" fish sandwich. The fish sandwich was horrible it was Sysco frozen fried not fresh. And how do you have "fresh" stone crab chowder when it's not stone crab season! It would have been nice to have lobster chowder since it is in season. So upset that this is what has happened to one of our favorite places. We will return but for drinks and sunset

Like a trusted friend, the Lorelei never disappoints. We enjoy being seated on at the high top tables near the bar so we can watch the fish and manatees circle the docks. The staff is amazingly friendly, food is always good and the Lorelei usually has live entertainment. We enjoy going to the Lorelei during the less busy times, before peak lunch and dinner time. The Lorelei is a local favorite because it's priced right, so it does get pretty busy at times. A perfect place to watch the sunset on the bay.

We love this place. I don't know what was wrong with me, as we have visited Islamorada for many years & passed this place. Wanted to go, but, never did...UNTIL last year @ Christmas time we went over & wished we would have stopped the many years before. "LOVED THE FOOD, THE SERVICE & THE SUNSET, plus beach!!!! IF your complaint is about a server, some times can be bad & ruin a restaurant Don't judge a restaurant by a "bad server". Want to see Bad Service, come to Harrisburg, PA!!

We have always enjoyed the Lorelei whenever we are in the Keys. You can't beat the view, the prices are reasonable and there is always a great mix of locals and visitors. I make it a point to be there for a breakfast of fried dolphin and eggs and a few beers, great way to start the day! Staff is friendly and attentive, particularly Cynthia S. who is terrific.

Every time we are in Islamorada we stop here for the catch of the day fish sandwich and fries for 10.00. Also definitely have to have their frozen drink called the candy cane which is (i think) half rum runner and piña colada with a floater on top! So good! What makes it even better is to enjoy that watching an amazing, a really AMAZING sunset on the water listening to a live music band! A favorite of ours!! On one note though, the service is spotty as other reviewers have noted and some of the menu items are just okay. But the sunset and music make it great!!! Relax its the Keys!

My wife and I stopped by this place by chance on the way back from Key West. The menu was very simple and our waitress was casual and straight forward. She mentioned that the fish of the menu is Mahi Mahi but that their Snapper is caught fresh daily and should be tried if they have it, which they did that day. We both got the snapper sandwich blackened and WOW was it great. The fish was cooked perfectly and the seasoning was just right, not overpowering and not too mild. The starters of conch fritters we ordered were probably some of the best we have had in the keys and looked handmade onsite. The only complaint is that they are somewhat small. We opted to grab a table in the shade near the bar but still at the edge of the desk over the water. It was cool to see 3 different types of fish swimming under us as we ate. Even though it was lunch time there was a musician playing guitar and singing and he was actually very good and kept the vibe going with beach/Florida Keys themed music. The restuarant has a "beach" type area which allows you to sit closer to the water but part of that area is self service meaning you have to order at the bar and bring the food yourself to your table. Not a big issue but something we opted not to do (well my wife wanted to, I just didn't). This is definitely not a place to take someone for a fancy dinner, I don't think anyone hanging out in the keys is looking for a place like that anyways. This is a great place to grab a drink, eat fantastic local food, and relax. I highly recommend it.

Went to this place on the recomendation of our hotel bartender. Had a nice view of the sunset. The live band was 2 dudes who couldn't sing, but I liked them. the food was not what I expected. I got the fish sandwhich, and it was definatey a frozen patty and not fresh...I could see the ocean and they gave me a gortons frozen patty! The drinks weren't great, but they were drinkable. Overall, I liked the place, but after the high recommendations I was disappointed

Keysational, is the ridiculous, made up word I would use to describe this place. As a restaurant, it is pretty good. Nothing I've ever had thrilled me, but it has never been bad. In this area of the keys, there isn't a wide variety of night life so they arent bumping all night long. Lorelei does, however, always have live entertainment, that is great to sit back and enjoy, or get up and dance if you feel the beat in your feet, it is welcomed. The absolute best thing about Lorelei is the view of the sunset from their beach, it's magical. That is enough of a reason to go to his place, is truly is breathtaking.

Dear Lorelei, Where can I begin? After a long day of drinking at Tiki Bar, we were ready to relax and kick back to a stunning Keys sunset. At the suggestion of a friend we came here, ready to see what all the hype was about. Lo and behold, it was worth the entire trip. The scenery here is absolutely stunning, with natural mangroves, a dock to walk on, and the sandy shore of the Gulf-side water. The tables are set along the water facing the sunset. There seems to be a couple of different bars, one closer in, and one next to the water. When we were here, we only ordered drinks, which is all I really needed. :) We grabbed our beers and sat in chairs right on the sand, just gazing into the sea. There was a live band playing, which kept the mood light and fun, and there was even a wedding taking place. This has to be one of the most romantic bars I've ever been to, and that almost sounds like an oxymoron. LOL But honestly, it was just one of the most relaxing and memorable evenings I've had. Thank you for the great times, beautiful memories, and stunning photos. :) Until the next Keys trip... MUCH Love, SabrinaAnna*

If you want to enjoy the perfect view of a sunset while eating dinner or enjoying some drinks allow me to suggest Lorelei Cabana Bar. My Girlfriend and I stumbled across this gem while driving home. It was her first trip to the Keys and I wanted us to watch the sunset while we were eating dinner. The restaurant consists of a bar and tables that are right on the sand. I understand other reviewers complaints about the limited menu and service but they need to remember where they are. The Keys are known for being laid back. If you want a professionally run chain restaurant go a short distance to Islamorada Fish Company. It's also on the water and run more like a restaurant you will find back home. But if you want to enjoy the sunset and eat with the locals then this is the spot.

I went to Florida and this was the highlight! This place was amazing. Right on the water with great service and good prices. The drive from Miami was SO worth it and gorgeous. We had beers and buckets of crab and felt like Jimmy Buffet the whole time. There were definitely some rough n' tumble locals there which just proves it's a good place. Now that I live in NY I might have to take a keys vacay and close this place down!

Had a hard time finding a table. Once we did i had mango daquiries and a conch burger. They were both pretty good. Service was okay.

Based on Yelper reviews sounded like it could be a hit or miss, but was definitely a hit! Ambiance was waterfront with beach or cabana style seating, surrounded by palms and boats. Service and food were also exceptional. Try the tuna nachos for a break from the ordinary....Wasabi spice with cool tuna over large won tons with seaweed. Delicious! The Mahi tacos were also tasty as we're the shrimp tacos and blackened grouper sandwich. A must try for anyone in the area.

This is the second time we have tried this JOINT (I say joint because that's what it is) the staff is ok. However we were treated very poorly by one of the wait staff. An older lady (late fifties) she seemed tremendously put out when my wife asked for a couple lemon wedges. Because, you know, asking for lemon at a joint that mainly serves seafood is unheard of. The first time we tried this joint the "famous" fish sandwich came out dry...like beef jerky dry. When I brought it to the managers attention he began debating with me as if I've never had a fish sandwich. I literally had to explain to him that I did indeed know what a fish sandwich looked and tasted like being raised In Ft. Lauderdale. He then told me that the "famous" fish sandwich had never been returned before in which my reply to him was "well you'll never be able to say that again". We didn't order anything to replace the "famous" fish sandwich because we didn't trust what might come out. Then we received our check where. ..you guess it! The "famous" fish sandwich remained on the bill. Another discussion occurred regarding my not paying for it. This place has been nothing but a hassle both times we've gone. Now I know why the fish sandwich is so" famous"...it sucks. And so does this joint. Avoid.

All the reviewers here who said the restaurant has a beautiful setting and mediocre food are on the mark. We arrived after sunset so couldn't enjoy the view but it's a delightful location. The restaurant and bar overlook the water and there are some tables down on the beach with a few cabana-tables among them. We snagged a cabana, listened to the live band and watched a few couples dancing in front of the stage. Very soothing and relaxing. As for the food, well, don't get your hopes up. I had a "Lorelei World Famous Madeira Bay Fish Sandwich" and was frankly shocked that a sandwich with such a grandiose name could be so bad. The fish that day was mahi mahi, I believe, and it was grilled so dry I thought it was chicken, and a tough one at that. It came on a burger bun that was even drier than the fish, it crumbled in my hands. My wife had the Bayside Grilled Chicken that was also dry and they tried to cover it up by drowning it in some kind of sauce. Only the chicken wing appetizer had any kind of flavor. The server was friendly and pretty efficient but even she didn't ask how the meal was when she bussed the table, so it's pretty much acknowledged that the food isn't the draw at this restaurant. Know what you're going for when you go there--the setting, not the food. Eat up before you go and maybe have some snacks with your beer as you watch the sun go down.

Good food, great atmosphere and location for watching sunset. Band wasn't bad. So, why only 3 stars? The service was crap. Anytime I wanted something, I always had to track down the waitress or have one of the kitchen runners find her. It got to be comical. Needless to say her tip reflected it. I would definitely recommend as long as you don't have our server. Sorry, I don't remember her name.

We ate here 3 times during the trip to the Keys, and enjoyed each time. Classic keys restaurant and bar. Very friendly staff, very good food. Great vibe, great view. Highly recommended. Don't miss the Conch Fritters!

The beachfront seating is great; the bar is super; the food is good enough. Get a rumrunner with floater and sit on a swinging table: makes for a good evening, watching the sun go down!

My favorite restaurant in the keys hands down. This place has the most spectacular views of the sunset. You couldn't get closer to the water unless you're standing in it. The food is really good, the music is fun and festive. I made about 30 people drive from Miami to the keys for my birthday and we ate here and a few people have decided to celebrate their birthday's here as well. Love this place MUST TRY!

Sure, Key West is known for its sunset ceremonies, but if you want to get just as beautiful a view without the long drive and dealing with the crowds, stop in here at Lorelei Restaurant. Right on the water, there's nothing like the golden hued sunset that sparkles over the water. There's a small beach, a dock, and plenty of outside seating. There's even music and great service from the waitstaff. Our waitress took great care of us, making sure our drinks were full and our needs were met. The conch fritters were some of the best I've had on the Keys and the drink prices were very reasonable. Bring your sunglasses and your relaxed attitude to enjoy the sunset any night of the week.

Still one of my favorite places in the Keys. Rode my motorcycle down yesterday, stayed at the motel next door, and got my drink on! Great happy hour--- $1.75 craft drafts...discovered a new one: Conchtoberfest! Live music, nice crowd, good food and great sunsets.

This is a laid back place with your average food made better by views and live music. Service was sporadic, so just remember you are here for the views.

The location and scenery is amazing. The food and service is par at best. Hardly any seafood on mene. More of a pub menu with burgers and stuff of that nature. Best advice, eat elsewhere and go there for sunset drinks~

This is a must stop for the tourist heading to KW. It's a locals, fisherman, and winter-visitor hangout. Cold beer and mixed drinks are reasonably priced and the menu is mostly consistent and tasty. We eat here when ever we're in the area.

  • Nick S.

Great vibe here. Perfect deck to eat and drink on, decent chow, and usually some entertainment especially during sunset. Even breakfast is good, cheap, and enjoyable. People were great, and on the bay side, this is a must stop, especially if you boat

I finally tried Lorelie after many trips to Islamorada and was happy that I did! Stopped on the way home from Key West to Fort Lauderdale for a late lunch and ended up staying for hours! Great happy hour, yummy Mahi sandwich, good prices and a beautiful sunset to boot. Band was a little cheesy but hey I'm in the Keys, you could play Miley Cyrus and I wouldn't care...well maybe not.

  • Antoine H.

Food barely ok, litlle bit expensive for what you get but it's also the Keys price so you have to deal with it. But we were there a Friday evening and we had to wait almost two hours after we ordered to have our burger and a salad coming. That was really a long wait, and then you don't enjoy anymore the place and you only want eating fast and leave. Too bad.

  • Marc K.

We read some reviews that the food was no longer as good, but we were in the mood for an on the water experience and last year we loved the food. True to newer reviews, the food wasn't as good. My wife had the fish sandwich special and I had the jerked chicken and pork special. Hers was ok, mine was extremely disappointing. There was some sauce on the side that I guess qualified this dish as jerked, but even that didn't taste very good. The staff is still great and the atmosphere is great -- hope the food goes back to being as good as it used to be.

AAAAAAA!!!!! I went again! Still awesome, Cabana Madness and Bushwhackers for lunch and Bushwhackers and Cracked Conch sandwich for dinner. Seriously people don't go here, I want to be able to get a seat, go somewhere else and eat crappy food! Don't sit by the water in the Adirondack chairs and watch the sunset listening to the live music you will never want to leave. Which is fine because after 3 Bushwhackers you probably shouldn't till the sun goes down anyway!

Hands down on of the best spots to catch the sunset. I've been here a million times some of the bartenders are rude or aloof. I think mostly if your not a local ( like alot of the isla bars). Young blond surfer looking guy ( Keith) bartender is awesome Tall thin young young kid with Ray Bans and brown hair busboy/ server is very nice. Make sure you get a table way before sunset that place can get super packed super quick!! Live music at sunset. Food is pretty good they have a good tuna nacho ( I think that's a new item) that have been switching up some of the menu or specials lately. The atmosphere is really great, alot of room to wander around the sandy shore behind the restaurant / bar and your strong drink out of your plastic cup while listening to the live band. Could use better food , and nicer bartenders but all around if you haven't been here you have to check it out because it truly is what the keys are all about.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! My first trip to the keys was completed with a visit to the Lorelei. On the way down to Key West my friend pointed out the giant mermaid and informed me would be stopping there on the way home; that this was THE place to eat my last meal before we headed back to reality - and boy was she right! The seafood was fresh, ample, and delicious. Service was pretty prompt for being so packed with locals @ sunset. I loved the idea of the outside seating. It was soo cute i took my flipflops off and dug my toes into the sand with a drink. The local band was jamming but i was still able to have a conversation with my party. I really didn't want to leave after the sunset... :( Everytime i think about my first Keys Trip my mind always comes back to this restaurant as one of the best parts :) I can't wait to visit again!

Lorelei is probably my favorite place to watch the sunset in key largo. The sandy beach area and chairs make it ideal to sit and wait for the magic to unfold. Live entertainment serenades you while you enjoy your conch fritters and rum runners! Not a huge fan of the service but once you are able to snag a waiter you should be fine.

My feelings about the Lorelei Cabana Bar are very mixed. I really want to like this place - it's set on the beach with an absolutely perfect view of the sunset. The bar has a casual atmosphere, live music, good drinks. So what's not to like, you may ask? The service. Seriously, we stopped here twice, both on our way to Key West and back. The service both times lacked something to be desired. On our way home from Key West, we timed our trip so we'd be able to have dinner and watch the sunset, which I heard was gorgeous from this vantage point. It was a Monday night, and there was a decent sized crowd, nothing horrendous. You seat yourself, and we took a table right at the waterfront. We were surrounded by tables which were all in some process of being served. Do you know we sat there for 55 minutes before a server came up to us? The servers hitting the surrounding tables saw us but completely ignored us. After a half hour, I went to the bar, located way in the front of the place, to get our own drinks. Then my husband went to one of the managers and asked him politely if he could help - he gave us a couple of menus and said he'd get our server. Nothing for another 30 minutes. At this point we decided to finish our drinks and get the hell out of Dodge. Of course, our server finally came up to us, apologized profusely, saying that he just got this table today and there was a mixup. No problem, I understand mixups completely. But why did several servers and managers walk right by us several times without questioning or wondering why we had no menus, food, or drinks? The first time we stopped in, we sat at the bar. Service was just okay, but the bartender was rude. Hopefully they'll work on their service. This was honestly the only place in the whole Keys area where we experienced rude and bad service. Everyone else is just so nice and friendly. Oh, and they didn't even offer us a complimentary drink for the screwup.

We came to the keys and stayed walking distance from Lorelei's. Started our trip here and enjoyed it so much that we ended it here even though we were no longer walking distance. They have a great happy hour! Strong drinks and really friendly staff. Also, pretty decent live entertainment (music and Trixx the magician)! An amazing location with beautiful sunset views and a fun laid back vibe. Food recommendations: peppercorn crusted tuna appetizer, the stone crab claw appetizer, the famous fish sandwich with sweet potato fries, and the frozen key lime pie (we went up and down the keys trying key lime pie and though it is not traditional it was by far our fav! We came back multiple times in our trip just for this pie!) Can't say much more except: I can't wait to come back to Lorelei's!

One of the most romantic dates I ever had was at Lorelei's. We were spending Valentine's Day weekend in the Keys a couple of years ago, and were driving around for a place that didn't have a 10 hour wait. We stopped at Lorelei's, and while it was definitely crowded, it was one of the less crazy spots that night. We settled into our romantic table overlooking the water, and ordered our food/drinks. Here, my dear yelpers, is where I took off one star. The food was okay, and I ordered a margarita that was mediocre at best...But no matter, the atmosphere, live music, and scenery make up for the middle-of the-road cuisine. I will never forget that night. So relaxing, so peaceful. I need to go back there soon!

If I had my way,I would give this place more stars...for the Sunset Celebration alone!! Fabulous setting for a beautiful Keys Sunset. They had a band playing, people dancing, just enjoying life! The food was really top notch. We shared a couple appies and had a few beers and enjoyed the sunset on the beach. We had the Seared Tuna Appetizer. Wow....seared Ahi with a Sesame crust.Served with a Seaweed Salad and topped with a soy reduction and Wasabi Mayo. I would go back just for that.We also had Shrimp Quesadillas. Fresh, plump Key West Shrimp, melty cheese and sides of Guac,Salsa and Sour Cream. Yum,yum, yum!.Did not have a full meal here,but....I am sure wee will go back on our next trip down to the Keys!

Went here for dinner tonight, great spot to watch the sunset on the water during dinner. Live music was great also. Food was mediocre. Margaritas were too sour. Our table got spinach and artichoke dip and coconut shrimp for appetizers, those were very good. Split the pulled pork sandwich and bacon wrapped shrimp with a friend and was not impressed, we did not finish it. My friends got the mahi mahi sandwich and prime rip wrap which were both good. French fries were good too but, our very young waitress seemed very grumpy and was very slow. When she finally gave us our check and we gave ger credit cards to charge it on, she took them away and then 15 minutes later came back and said she accidentally took 10% off and handwrote the new higher amount on the receipt... overall would go back only for the atmosphere and view.

5 stars for great view, great atmosphere, and fresh fish! What's better than that? The place is big, they have seating on the beach or by the bar. The sunsets are amazing. I tried one of those rocking booths for the first time this trip (fun fun!). I get the Candy Cane (half rum runner & half pina colada). I love Islamorada FL! :) Conch fritters delisshh and the fish is sooo fresh. Wish I was back on vaca right now! There was also a live band. I saw a reviewer write something about the service... def. wasn't super fast paced... but hey! I am here on vacation - relaxing with awesome music & a beautiful sunset and the employees are always super nice! mad love for Lorelei!

We went here twice - driving to and coming back from Key West. We were given a recommendation by a friend. Very good fried fish sandwich; excellent french fries. Later tried the blackened yellowtail sandwich which was fantastic. Wife said the crab dip was very good as well. Nice view from the outside seating; Sunday lunch had live music that was very nice. We'd go again.

After a late start heading south to Key West, my wife and I decided to get a bite in the late morning. We pulled into Lorelei about 10:45 because it looked like a nice laid back joint in a marina. When we walked in, I asked if I could still get breakfast and the hostess said if I ordered quickly I could since they switch to their lunch menu at 11. But after we were seated, she came back and told us that they had already closed down their breakfast service so I was out of luck. Not the best way to start a dining experience - if you're going to serve breakfast until 11, serve breakfast until 11. Oh well, I settled for a turkey club that was nothing special with processed turkey - though the house made chips were pretty decent. My wife's selection of their "World Famous" fish sandwich was enjoyed by her, but "World Famous"? maybe not.

Solid food, good service, decent prices and a great atmosphere. Lor-E-Lei is our go to place after fishing, bring your catch and they will prepare it for you with sides for a decent price. The other menu items are usually solid and well prepared. A variety of seating options and hands down the best place to watch the sunset (other than a boat with a rod in hand) on a warm evening. Worth a visit or two.

On our way back from Key West we wanted to stop somewhere and relax for lunch. We spotted Lorelei's from the road and it was just what we were looking for - they are dog friendly, have an amazing deck and view and great food. Supper nice staff and it allowed us to recharge for the long ride home. Great place to make a nice stop over!

  • Lori D.

Ok, so I'm gonna give it to you plain and simple. The piña coladas are pretty amazing. The perfect amount of slush so it doesn't become watery and undesirable. The grouper sandwich was good...nothing to write home, or better yet, yelp about. So, why the 4 stars? Well, the view is pretty spectacular and after a long weekend in Key West and searching for the best piña colada, I'd have to say it was found here - on our way home. Good spot to stop at on your way back home or on your way down to the lower Keys.

Our young black male waiter was terrible.forgot everything. gave us the wrong check.was condescending. we will not be back, not worth it to be charged what we were and then be treated with disrespect.I did however relunctly leave the young man a tip....perhaps he can get a bus to somewhere and learn some manners.

Went here based on the travel and leisure article about the ultimate florda beach trip. This was a stop on the way home from the keys and much like any place worth stopping it was a little hard to find. Tried a bowl of the conch chowder and it was spicy but delicious. Our waiter suggested the ahi tuna app and said it was sushi grade - that it was except it was slightly more cooked than my usual sushi back home nevertheless it was good but if you are not a fan of wasabi ask for it on the side. We proceeded to try the lorelei famous sandwich aka dolphon and I had it blackened the fish was perfectly seasoned. Bf ordered the steak sandwich which the waiter reccomended and it was amazing. You must try it if you go here that alone merits 5 stars. We also got to indulge in happy hour $1.75 a beer - now that's what I call a happy place!

Coconut shrimp is the best I ever had. Reasonably priced jerk chicken (yummy), amazing view, entertainment, friendly staff. Good for large groups. Food is fresh and sauces are made in house, a little touch of mom's kitchen here.

5 stars for the Sunset...wow....we definitely got a good one, and great pics here!! great service from our waiter -- forget his name, but he was on the ball the entire time wife and i were there, and we were there awhile. i want to say we arrived sometime between 6-630 and didn't leave for about 3 hours. drinks -- started w/ a frozen bushwhacker at the advice of some lady who checked us out of our hotel where we stayed in key west prior and it was good. got some other frozen drink after that that was a mix of a pina colada and rum runner i think? way too sweet. for the frosty drink peeps maybe tolerable, but my wife didn't even want to finish it. went to corona light on tap after that the entire way through, excellent! just ordered some apps while there -- peel and eat shrimp w/ some kind of island spices, very good. and a seared tuna appetizer that was great. neither wife or i are ahi tuna people, but became them after this dish. lightly seared, bed of seaweed, wasabi sauce and sriacha(sp?) drippings on the plate...very good and as the tuna prices i noticed everywhere else w/ the shortage after getting this, cheap at around 12. its a very casual place, and the only negative vibe we got the entire time there was one of the bartenders had his panties in a bunch and didnt want to change the channel on one of the TVs over to a hockey game we requested to have put on. our waiter was awesome and kept on them to change it and eventually one of the other bartenders changed it. we planned to go back other nights we were there for sunset but caught some rain/clouds that time of day that pretty much put lorelei out of the picture. they also had live music and a magic guy that performed, both were good entertainment. would definitely return and a positive experience for a fun casual setting. not your upscale dining experience if you are expecting that, just a good casual setting.

We love Lorelei's-- great location on the water-- you can enjoy the bar and be sitting right on the water, or sit on the sand and enjoy the view there-- can't go wrong. My husband and I love to share the seafood appetizer plate-- cabana madness, and then have a ton of "Bushwhackers", their amazing mudslide drink and enjoy the sunset.

While our experience at Lorelei was cold, windy, short, and elderly, I could see this bar being a destination point for the couple or group wanting the tropical tiki-bar feel. The bar itself is thatched-roof and built on a dock, with the bathrooms located in an outhouse facility on the shore. Unfortunately, my experience here was in the Snowbird season (February), and it was 50 degrees and windy. This may not be the place to be in the winter season, hence the three stars, but has the potential to be a 5-star-bar in the spring/summer!

  • Teri C.

This place is great to come and watch the island sunset there is no arguement with that. But when it comes to having dinner, I would definately take a pass... it takes 4 EVA!!! Not to mention once I recieved my food I was dissapointed that it had taken so long, not worth the wait, unless you have an entire evening to burn. Cut your losses take a seat at the bar and enjoy some happy hour beverages and possibly an appetizer. Eat dinner elsewhere. The view is increadible during sunset, just not my pace at all.

  • Ubu R.

Great views, so-so food, service came and went. Nothing awful, nothing special. Certainly could be better, but considering their location, I doubt they have to work too hard to improve. Prices were high for what it was; paying a premium for the view is fine. I wouldn't insist on stopping if we drove by, and wouldn't object either.

Fish dip is excellent. Stone crab chowder has tons of crab in it unlike most chowders of the sort. Additionally the service is excellent. Highly recommend if you're passing through or staying in islamorada. It's worth the short drive from key largo!

Drinks with an amazing view of the sunset. Always great to sit back and people watch. Great local events are held there as well. They are big supporters of charitable local events in the keys. Always enjoy going there!

Beautiful spot to watch a sunset!! It was a stunning sunset the night we were there!! We sat on the beach area. Great live music. Perfect location. Food is fine. We would definitely go back if we were in the area again. We had spinach and artichoke dip for appetizers and it was really good. Service was ok. We were there at sunset and he was slammed but he kept up fairly well and he was hustling which we appreciated. We did have to ask for things that if it was a different time he probably would have been on top of (like drink refills and napkins). It all worked together for a very enjoyable evening.

We came here based on Yelp reviews but it was overrated in our opinion. It was more average food and ambiance. We didn't experience the sunset, but I don't think it would influence my score.

It is a good tourist version of a keys bar. Great bar food and good drinks. The waitstaff was attentive and the people watching is above average. Which is way better than on the mainland. In season right now, so crowded, but not overly so that the service was impacted.

The cracked conch sandwich was amazing. Stopped here on the way back from Key West and had a nice lunch. The only thing is that there is no inside seating, when we came it was raining out, so that was a bit of a downer. Would love to come back here for dinner and drinks.

Great atmosphere, beautiful sunset, live music......and good food. You won't be disappointed, just get there early as it fills up.

Came here for an appetizer and a drink with my Girl friend. The view was really nice. We were here at a slow time around 3pm so service was quick. Drink prices were very reasonable. We got the conch fritters to snack on and we were both a little disappointed at the quality. In all I would recommend due to the prices and the view.

When I think of the Keys, this is the place I have always imagined. A place to sit right on the water with amazing scenery. The bartenders are laid back, but very friendly. We didn't quite know what we wanted to drink when asking about the Key West Sunset Ale he immediately offered up a sample, as well as other very good option. His suggestion of Imperial (a Costa Rican beer) was awesome. The food is also delicious. We got the Captian's Quesadillas, Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Skewers, and Peppercorn Crusted Yellowfin Tuna. I would recommend any of them, all had great flavor. If I can manage to make it back is Islamorada, this will be my first stop!

This is honestly what the Keys is all about! A very laid back vibe on the water is what makes this place tick. I have been here twice and will continue to come back for lunch, drinks, and/or fun.

As a long-time "traditional" place to stop for RumRunners & a Fish sammy when coming to the Keys, I'm off to new/other places. On our most recent trip the grilled fish Sammy was a joke (ie. hardly any size w/ 3 tiny dry pieces), their drinks are overpriced & not homemade and the service is so-so. I am NO LONGER a fan - as it's just OK at best :) Prefer to seek out new/other places w/ local charm and better food & drinks.

DO NOT DINE HERE!!!!! There's no way the positive reviews posted here are true. I'm still sitting here and am compelled to let people know right immediately to stay away. We waited at least 20 mins for any attention, then I flagged someone down and she flat out ignored me then said she's not my server. Our server finally came and we decided to order a simple app because we're starving and although it came out quickly it tastes terrible. It also arrived before the water and our drinks. Finally, I got up and went to the bar to get my own drinks and the bartender wasn't there as she was taking food orders at nearby tables!!!! I just asked for the check, I'll go spend my money elsewhere! Unfortunately people will continue to be advised to visit here for the sunset which is marred by the terrible service, food and experience. Never again, this place is awful! Only gave one star because you can't give no stars!!!! "

One star for location, one star for our server Brad, everything else zero stars. We arrived a little after sunset so the crowd was thinning out. We had to wait an outrageous amount of time for our food as did everyone around us. Our server was very apologetic, and made us aware the kitchen likes to relax after the dinner rush. We definitely had much better sunset dining experiences at other restaurants in the area.

A great place for cocktails, sunset watching, chillin' with the locals, and SUPER service by Stephanie and a red-haired dude (they were the fastest and most attentive I witnessed in Islamorada during my four-day visit). I didn't try the food. Price for drinks is average for the area.

  • Windi L.

Great location and I *LOVE* the bar set up. Food, however, is LAME LAME LAME LAME LAME. The chicken was way over dry and the key lime pie was probably the worst I've ever had in my life. The drinks were so-so... I've definitely had better elsewhere. Come here for a great sunset drink right on the beach. But just don't expect much else.

Go for the sunset party, but after you eat somewhere else. I give this 4 stars because it is called a bar, not a restaurant, so you shouldn't expect good food. The sunset party however deserves the maximum of 5 stars with live bands, great waitresses, a small beach to sit on, locals in fishing boats pulling up, and everyone having a great time. This being said, from Lorelei you see the sunset over another island, not the water bringing it back to 4 stars. To see the sun set over the water, MM88 right up the street or Malory Square in Key West is a better view. Lorelei definitely has the best party in the middle and upper keys.

Solid food, friendly staff, amazing atmosphere. We went here twice in a week and both times it was killing. Get a fish sandwich. Or a margarita. The only reason it didn't get 5stars is that I can't get past all the tourists dancing to the lame live music... Not our scene but kinda funny. Go here and eat.

It's a fabulous view, sunsets are more magical here. An ABSOLUTE MUST? Not necessarily. However, if you do go order pounds of the fish dip because it is amazing!!!

Whole family loved this place! The shrimp appetizer was fresh and tasty. The jerk chicken sandwich was superb with avocado bacon and cheese atop. My wife loved the crab legs. View of the sunset from the beach table was worth it. Price was lower than I expected, too!

We visited two times recently and hands down the first visit was the best. Fish tacos ( blackened) are the best we have had and we have tried 8 different restaurants last month in this area. Unfortunately they were only a special...why I don't know as I was disappointed in the sandwich the second visit... I guess you cannot go home... Also the waitress can make a big difference as the first was fun and informative. The second was matter of fact. Boring and rushed. Rum punch was terrible. Tasted like water and sugar.. Would not recommend to order this drink... Also the bloody Mary was terrible.... Nothing in it to munch on and dark dark acidity flavor ... The is nothing better than a Fresh bloody Mary! I would recommend for lunch as the view is great and a decent lunch.

The best place in Islamorada to watch the sunset and have some cocktails. They have a nice bar and deck seating along with tables directly in the sand. Live bands on the weekends and you can pull in on your small boat. A good mix of locals and tourists.

Sunset celebration every night. Live music. Good Beer selection. Beautiful outdoor seating. Oh...and the lobster bisque...WOW!

  • Sarah B.

This place certainly had a beautiful view, and the live music was fairly good, but those were about the only positives. The piña colada I got tasted like it was moldy-weird I know-but I couldn't finish it-and it was pricey! We shared the conch fritters which just tasted like fried balls of batter-our first experience with anything conch, so I'm not sure if that's what it's supposed to taste like? Found a HAIR in our ceasar salad-my husband did not want me to say anything, so we left it half eaten. I had a fried fish sandwich which was ok-he had a blackened fish sandwich which he enjoyed. Our fries (sweet potato and regular) would have been pretty awesome if they weren't ICE COLD! I was bummed by this. We decided to hang for a bit after dinner to listen to the music and our waiter left us for probably 45 min before returning to check on us and give us the bill. I have read a lot of reviews about how you pay for the view and not the food, this is certainly a place like that. Don't go with high culinary expectations. Good for overpriced drinks and entertainment.

According to tales of lore, Lorelei was a beautiful and enchanting woman -- some say mermaid, and others claim siren -- who would sing to mariners in a bewitching tone that would cause them to run aground and perish beneath the sea. Geographically speaking, Lorelei is either: (A) the dangerous rock outcropping on the Rhine River that inspired these tales; or (B) a dangerously enjoyable cabana bar that has inspired many a young mariner, angler, sun seeker, and fun seeker to pull off of US Route 1 at mile marker 82 in order to have a great time. This review is about the latter. Islamorada owns the rightful title of "Sport Fishing Capital of the World". And since a number of registered fishing guides launch their boats from the ramp adjacent to the Lorelei, it was only a matter of time until I became acquainted with her. While waiting for our guide early one morning, we took the liberty of ordering a Fluffy's Sandwich (egg, cheese, and choice of pork on toast) and the Biscuits and Gravy. Both were delicious, inexpensive, and complemented our main course of Bloody Marys very well. We were ready for a day of back-country tarpon fishing! Positioned along the bay-side waters of Islamorada, the Lorelei is perfectly situated for stunning sunsets. And while Key West claims to have the most spectacular sunsets in the continental United States, sundown at the Lorelei is no less spectacular. This is one of the reasons why people from land and sea flock to the Lorelei in the evening. Whether you are perched along the deck that encircles the rectangular bar, or seated on the expansive outdoor patio adjacent to the water, your worldly cares and concerns will melt away with the last rays of sunlight. Order a Key West Sunset Ale or a Rum Runner, nibble on an order of Sunset Conch Fritters or Lorelei's Smoked Fish Dip, and enjoy the sounds of live music from 6 - 10 PM every day. The Lorelei has something for everyone, any time of day. If you find yourself in the middle keys near mile marker 82, open the car windows or put the top down, and listen for Lorelei's song...she just might lure you in for a drink.

  • William T.

Honestly, Lorelei is kind of a waste of money. The food is fair, the beer selection is complete crap, and unless you are into listening to terrible covers of Bob Marley songs whilst watching the sunset, then this is not the place for you. My wife and I were overwhelmed by the sheer amount of mediocre items on the menu. We both had a fish sandwich that was hailed as a "local favorite", but the quality of the fish as well as the accompanying sauce was nothing more spectacular than we could have made for ourselves at home in kentucky. Since Florida is such a seafood mecca, this is rather sad, especially since the meal was not cheap and the service was less than attentive, even though we were seated at the bar. Our total with tip was a little more than $40 for the sandwiches and a couple of drinks. It's a great location to watch the sunset if you don't mind having mediocre drinks; other than that, I would skip it.

Lorelei was a recommendation from a trusted friend as a spot for lunch on drive between Miami and Key West. Almost at exactly the half way point the location couldn't have been better. Eating outside on the deck watching the boats come in and out, you realize immediately that you are entering another world, we had certainly left the stress of New Jersey behind us and were in for a week of relaxation. You're also introduced to island time, things don't move quickly, but isn't that part of the charm?! Menu had all you'd need for family of six. Hot dogs, sliders and chicken fingers for kids, and a father that eats like a kid, and nicer sandwiches for a but more sophistication. Menu was pretty diverse, though we stuck with the basics. Service was friendly and attentive, and the live music really helped set the mood for an enjoyable island vacation. If given the chance I would've gladly stayed all afternoon enjoying the entertainment and sipping cold drinks, but our next stop awaited us! We did make it back to Lorelei a week later when we did the reverse trip from Key West to Miami!

This used to be a good place to stop for soup and fish sandwich. Not any more. Service was laxadaise and under delivering. Soup not hot enough and partly broken. Bun not grilled and just a another frozen Mahi Mahi piece of fish.

My absolute favorite place in the Keys. I've been coming here exclusively since Feb 2008. In fact, the experience was one of the reasons I moved from frozen, Chicago. The food is good, but the views take it over the edge. If it's a sunset you're after, be sure to get here at least an hour before hand. And be patient, things still run on island time.

^^ 2 1/2 stars. One star for the view, and one star for the very pleasant table waitress who with a smile conversed with guests, shared her breakfast with a crane and just seemed to be enjoying her job. MORNING BREAKFAST STOP - My husband and I stopped in for an early breakfast as we have done many times previously on our way down the keys. As usual, we grabbed a seat at the bar. The usual local barflies were sitting around reading the paper, having light chat and grabbing a bite. The bartender was not very hospitable, and retracted any type of light morning chat or acknowledgements of our please and thank you's directed toward her. This seems to be consistent with other bartenders we have experienced here. It seems if they don't know you by name specifically, they appear bothered that you are a tourist blowing through town. I wonder if they visited Key West or the mainland if they would expect the same treatment as they provide their guests. I ordered a Bloody Mary for the $3 Sunday School Special. It was A-okay, but nothing spectacular, and the pour seemed short in the plastic cup. But for $3, I guess it matched the bill. Vegetable Omelet (no cheese) with Rye Light Toast - came with potatoes or grits and toast. Both the omelet and the potatoes were very bland and had no seasoning. The omelet itself was very watery. Not as in runny eggs, but watery from the vegetables. The toast was not executed as requested. I didin't finish it. French Toast - (see pic) - My husband said it came out warm and was adequate. He would get it again. As a repeat customer, this is always hit or miss as far as the food execution and hospitality of the staff. It's actually beginning to wear on me for future visits. I think I'll give this place a break for a while.

*food was alright; I had the stone crab chowder and the Philly cheese steak. The chowder came out quickly and it was delicious. As I was finishing my meal came out. Sandwich was very small and was barely warm, and the fries were cold and hard. *It was very crowded and there were not enough servers. Our server was running from table to table. The entertainment was Mike Trixx (magician) and he was awesome, but super loud. We had to shout to hold a conversation at the table. *When out entrees came out, two people's meals were forgotten and they had to wait an extra 20 minutes to get their meals.

Dive bar for local. Seems like a great place to get your drink on. Staff was sweet and seemed to know everyone, hanse it being a locals bar. We heard the key lime pie was a must have. It wasn't I'd go back to try the food and enjoy the water view. But we won't order the key lime pie this time. I think the key lime pie was frozen cool whip with lime peels.

Yum! I will admit that what brought us in was the giant mermaid sign, and we really weren't expecting much in terms of the quality of the food. Usually when a place has a big showy sign it's overcompensating for something. However, Lorelei's proved us wrong! Came here at sunset, hoping to get a waterfront table for dinner. The whole place is seat yourself, so we spent some time scouring the waterfront dining area for a table. There were six of us so also finding a table to fit everyone was a challenge. We gave up and grabbed a spot on the back deck. Lorelei's has a interesting setup, where there are three dining areas. All are outdoors, however the bar area is covered. So test your luck on those Florida summer days when the weather can go either way at any minute. Luckily for us there was a nice breeze and we were quite comfy. Our server warned us that two other tables sat down in her section at the same time, so we would need to bear with her. Honestly, for a busy gal she was fabulous. She took care of everyone and even stopped to chat a minute with our table. I do not recall her name but she was from Nashville- so manager give her a raise! She's a hard worker! :) We started with a couple rounds of cocktails, namely the rum punch and key lime cooladas. Refreshing and nicely spiked! The apps we ordered were delish as well- the tuna nachos were good but messy, and the spinach dip was super popular with our group. I had to get the smoked fish dip, as it is my obsession in life, and I enjoyed it as well. We were feeling pretty good when our entrees came out. Our drinks were never empty, the spinach dip was flowing. It was all good. Then I bit into the most delicious blackened Mahi tacos. SO GOOD! Three came to an order but I had to save one for later. Everyone ooh'd and ahh'd over their foods as well, so I am safe to assumed they were as happy as I was. The prime rib wrap looked good, as well as the conch chowder. We somehow also managed to fit in dessert, which ended up coming back to the hotel as well. It made for a great breakfast with coffee the next morning. I should also point out Lorelei's has great live entertainment. We were singing along to every song and at one point my mom and I even snuck over to the bar to watch them. This is a great spot to enjoy some good food, drinks, and lively entertainment. Highly recommend!

Looking for a low-key restaurant to enjoy cocktails, live entertainment and incredible sunsets? Look no further. We recently boated over here with a couple of friends to enjoy some cocktails and a casual dinner. The food and drinks here are tasty, but nothing fancy. Just simple Florida Key staples... and that's all you really need sometimes. We ordered rum runners, wine and a couple of other types of cocktails. As for the food, we had tuna nachos, a BLT, cracked conch and a couple of other sandwiches. The tuna nachos were delicious! We watched the sun set and listened to live music while we dined. We didn't want to leave. It's a pretty great place.

I ate here last Saturday night with a large group of gal pals, and would call it a solid 3 star spot. Key Lime cocktails (with graham cracker crust) were divine. The tuna nachos were also really yummy (fresh, firm tuna and tasty seaweed). The fried pickles were okay, but my snapper tacos left much to be desired (fish was rubbery). Ambiance was fun! Tons of outdoor seating. The cover band wasn't bad, but stopped playing around 10. Consequently the restaurant cleared out shortly thereafter (a bit disappointing, because we definitely could have enjoyed a few more cocktails and the laid back vibes). The large mermaid out front was fun to pose for pictures with.

I'm going to begin my review by stating that I am not a sea food person, and this is a seafood restaurant. The food was great, I enjoyed my sandwich, the appetizers, and the atmosphere. This was recommended by a number of people and I can see why. There's a lot of versatility and a lot of things to choose from. Would definitely go again.

You come here for the view. It's fantastic. Beautiful sunsets outside with music playing. Really, that's enough. Then the service, which was efficient and exceedingly friendly. Loved our server. She loved hosting people from out of town. Which is good because this place crawls with locals and vacationers alike. The drawback is that you may find yourself scoping out tables near sunset. Fortunately, it seemed to turnover and we didn't need to get into a fight with others about it. But I still would've appreciated a person who manages the cattle call. The food? Decent. Nothing to rave about and a week later, I'm having trouble remembering the specifics about it. But I remember the fish tacos were big and plentiful. And good fries. And the key lime pie was fun. Sometimes, a meal isn't just about the food. And for the "everything else" this place is better than average. Nothing fancy. Just an enjoyable night out.

This place has become a must-stop whenever we head down to the Keys. Waterfront Outdoor Dining - Check Good seafood - Check Booze - Double Check Live Music for Dinner - Check Lorelai is also one of the best places to catch the sunset in the upper keys. The bar and restaurant both get pretty packed right before sunset. Overall this is an awesome spot to catch some local flavor, grab a great casual meal, and lazily watch the sun go down while sipping on your margarita.

  • Alexandra L.

The Quick: A little piece of paradise. The Details: At most restaurants, you have to choose between a great view or great food... At this waterfront paradise, you can have both! The tables are on the beach overlooking the bluest water-- really making you feel as if you are in the Caribbean. After a piña colada or two (which are amazing!) I was knee high deep enjoying the cool water and soft sand. The coconut shrimp were great, as was the conch. The tacos were very good and a surprisingly large amount of food, I'd suggest splitting a few things so you can try it all. I will absolutely return on my next drive to the Florida Keys. The Damage: Too many piña coladas to remember, but we thought it was very reasonable for lunch.

I love Lorelei's. It's my go-to sunset meal in the keys. This place is beautifully situated right on the water in the west part of Islamorada. It's a picture perfect type place. There's a bar and some seating on the deck, and if it's busy enough, they'll be serving seats on the sandy "beach" part too. In my opinion, it's best to come when a band is playing and during sunset, because the atmosphere is just wonderful. Happy locals dancing to the beat, tourists and miamians like myself enjoying ourselves just as much. Now for the food. So, I'm a huge ocean lover and I'm always in the keys, but I don't eat seafood! If you're like me, fear not! There are plenty of options for us non-fish eaters. Burgers are great, chicken fingers and wings are great, but my favorite are the quesadillas. I've come here plenty of times and the food is *almost* always fantastic. But yes, once in a blue moon, the food isn't the best, but still good. If you catch Lorelei's on one of these days, I suggest you come back and try again another time. Don't let one average experience keep you from coming back. Service is always great, prices are decent. I've eaten at a lot of places in the upper and middle keys, but by far, I think Lorelei's is the best. Don't know what I would do without this place!

Stopped here for lunch after a dive one day. It was crowded Sunday but we were seated right away. The key lime colada was excellent and the perfect compliment to the blackened mahi-mahi taco I had. The blackened shrimp taco was also excellent. We sat in the covered deck/bar area and it was fun to watch crowd freak out when a manatee swam up. No complaints here; service, live entertainment and views of the bay were all great. Definitely a must try if you're in Islamorada or passing through.

The absolute best thing about this place is the outdoor space. A sprawling patio is extended even further with a white sand beach, all with plenty of tables and chairs. On the patio is a small gazebo where we were treated to live music by a solo guitar player/singer. Very enjoyable. The service was a little gruff but efficient. The food was not the best we had in Key West but it was still very tasty. Overall, this is a great place to stop and relax while driving to or from Key West.

Such a beautiful place! I was on my way back to Miami after a long day at sea and my boyfriend and I were looking for a place to eat so we decided to stop here after I read a couple of great reviews. You sit wherever you'd like (I sat by the water) and our waiter Sharom came quickly. They had a wide variety of food, I got the cheddar bacon burger and my boyfriend got crab legs which were delicious and very juicy/meaty (definitely recommend)! Overall it was a great dinner and I'll definitely be back.

Fish dip is off the chain! Tuna nachos omagred! Blackened mahi was good, but the rice was hard (lost a star there). Key Lime Colada is the best frozen drink I've ever had. Live music and great ambience...I'll def come back! Taylor, our server, is the best!

Lorelei's is always a must when we visit the Keys twice a year. Honestly, the food is always just so so but the atmosphere and the sunset view is to die for. The kids love going to Lorelei's because they can play on the little beach and if it's the correct night, we get to see Michael Trixx.

Not much I can say other than the location is nice and the live music and unique entertainment goes a long way in making this a place to visit. We ordered the conch fritters and fish dip for appetizers and were disappointed with the tough and chewy-ness of the fritters. The dip, however, was very good. As an entree our party ordered the portobello burger (minus the bun), the fish sandwich, a burger, and chicken taco salad. The portobello was very tasty but the fish sandwich was terrible. The bun on the fish was rock hard while the fish was overly salty. The other two entrees were pretty much unmentionable. And the service, if you can call it that, wasn't very attentive. The prices were high considering the lackluster food and service (our party of 4, with 2 apps, 4 adult beverages and 4 entrees) with our bill approaching $110. As I said the entertainment was interesting with a 80'a throwback magic show and live local artists. My suggestion is to go for drinks only and watch the sunset.

I couldn't imagine a better place to go in Islamorada. We were told by some locals that it was the place to go, they were not kidding. Great outdoor seating for dinner and sunsets. The night we went a live band played and it was exactly what we were looking for. The food is good and very reasonably priced. We saw a few manatees while eating dinner and watching the sunset and listening to great live music (that was not too loud need I mind you). If you want a laid back vibe with great food and scenery- go here.

It's all about the sunset here. The setting is amazing; with a great deck overlooking the bay and the evening sunset with live music make it a tropical paradise. The food for the most par is average. The blackened fish sandwich and the stone crab are great. Prices are reasonable.

By far WORST experience ever. We've been going here for 5+ years and never had not one complaint until tonight. To start off with we got there and snagged 2 tables by the middle beach area and it was by no means crowded at all when we arrived. We had to wait 30 minutes to get our drinks order in then another 15 finally get them. Then had to wait another 30 minutes to order our food and in the meantime we went to let management know. Another 15 min passed before we even saw our waiter again then when we did he never even stopped to check on us. After getting completely frustrated by seeing 2 other tables that arrived after get served and even eat and finish their food we went to find the manager. He came over to the table and was nothing but rude and made us feel like it was our fault. He told us we came at a busy time and that the wait time we were experiencing was just normal for this time and we explained to him that when we arrived we had pick of the tables and the restaurant was not busy. The people sitting behind us in the next table could overhear our conversations with him and were shocked at the nonchalant attitude he had and the just lack of not caring. He offered 20% off our check then went to check on our order. Believe it or not another 25-30 minutes passed before we finally started receiving our food and even then it came out in stages and it was all cold. We were all starving at this point and ate it anyway. He came back to check on us and we told him all the food was cold and told him that we also had no silverware or lemons for our fish. He snapped at me and told me one thing at a time. I've never been talked to like that at a restaurant and never expected such an attitude from a manager. He then offered to take 50% off our check. There was 11 people in our party and not one person was satisfied with the food quality and temperature. Beyond disappointed at how this was handled. Noting was done to make sure we were happy customers as we left. Do yourself a huge favor and skip this place!!! Way better food and service to be had elsewhere. Not even worth the seeing the sunset. :(

Worst place I've ever had been! The food was very bad, but the sunset was beautiful. See the sunset, and leave for another restaurant. 2 stars for the sunset nothing else...

Great location. Great view. Really good food. It can get crowded so get there in plenty of time to get a table. The kids were able to watch fish from the dock as we waited for our food on explored trails through the mangroves after dinner.

We ate dinner there last week. They don't have a hostess! It's seat yourself. The seating is spread out so customers are constantly circling the restaurant looking for tables. We got lucky and found some folks who were leaving soon. I had to stand there and aggressively guard the table from other customers while they finished eating, and while busboy cleaned it. Felt very uncomfortable. Then, the entire time we were eating, customers kept walking by and staring at us waiting for us to leave. Really ruined the experience. Which is a shame because the location is fantastic, the food is good and the service was good. Not worth it though. I go to the Keys to relax. They really need to invest in a hostess and some restaurant pagers.

Great location, great sunset, good food at reasonable prices, and live music! With an average of 4 solid stars after 109 reviews, I'd say it's accurate. My husband and I had a great time. Our snapper sandwiches with coleslaw were delicious and fresh. Prices were reasonable. And most people come for the sunset and live music. We will return!

Well this began with a bad expierence of trying to find a seat and every table we came across was reserved when I called I was told reservations are for 10 or more yet 3/4 had less than 10 one was completely unoccupied then we ordered a chip dip that was very salty after that we ordered the food was there quickly how ever under done rice and terbille mahai mahai I couldnt even cut it with my knife then my waiter service was excellent the highlight of the night would be the magic show and live music I would not get anything food wise more than French fries

Been here before. It's a long way from New Jersey, but it's close to our overnight stop before we head down to Key West. Good service considering the crowd. Happy hour from 4-6 pm 7 days. Domestic drafts are $1.25. Non-brand name drinks $3.00 e.g.; vodka and tonic, gin and tonic, rum and coke and much more. Live entertainment starts at 6:00 pm M-S. Did not see Sunday listed for music. Lots of people for the sunset every day. The peppercorn tuna was great! It's spicy with the wasabi and hot sauce but I liked it. Try the stone claw crab chowder. I'm a fairly good eater and with those two items, I was full. "Dallas" our server was prompt and courteous. Remember, this place gets a crowd but the staff is hopping. It's almost 6:00 pm, time for another bargain beer! Miller Light draft please. Whops! Almost forgot to mention the key lime pie. Tastes great!

We came to have lunch and drinks Waiter was rude, service was slow, had to ask for more drinks. It was a major inconvenience to him. Food was barely warm when it arrived .. came back to watch sunset brought our own wine ordered tons of food, waiter NEVER asked if we wanted anything to drink. manager comes over says you can't bring your own wine. Then tells us it's illegal and charges us s $20.00 corking fee.

As several people have pointed out, this place is great for appetizers and drinks, especially because of the beach vibe atmosphere. Their beer and the food prices aren't bad. The mahi tacos were decent for the price (more slaw, less cheese please). Fish dip was pretty good, though you'll find better. We were able to grab a waterfront table quickly, and the view over the water was great. Really, really relaxed feeling, all around, and the cover band that was playing live was both pretty good and didn't drown out conversation. We came on a Friday and Saturday night and enjoyed the cold beer and sunsets.

After my disappointment with Tiki bar, this place is a blast. This is the perfect spot for a sunset drink. Very knowledgeable staff and barman, great live music. Kids are welcome although this is not a family place, more a go to place for friends after a dive or day fishing or on the beach. Excellent spinach dip and shrimps to peel. Pinacolada made in front of you, not straight from a machine. Plenty of seats but come early. Packed for sunset.

Beautiful view, beautiful food, beautiful service. You can't ask for a better way to end your day in the keys than a trip to Lorelei. Came with a large party right before sunset on a Sunday night; it was a fabulous atmosphere for that - relaxing and right on the beach. Perfect live music, and the waitress was wonderful and attentive. Not sure what the reviews below are talking about with the not great service because our waitress was wonderful and our food and drinks came quickly. She worked even faster around the end of happy hour so that we could get another round of drinks in. Actually, I left my debit card at the restaurant and I live a couple hours away - they responded immediately to my email inquiring about my lost card and offered to mail it to me. If that's not good service, I don't know what is! Of course the food is delicious too. I had the blackened snapper sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was perfect.

The beer is cold, the sunset fantastic, and food horrible. I ordered my steak medium and it needed a tourniquet to stop the blood flow. Sent it back and 45 minutes later got a medium steak with by now the original ice cold fries. My wife got the grilled snapper which had no seasoning whatsoever, the rice was like eating BBs, and the vegetables were as fresh as Betty White. But the trip wasn't wasted because the sunset was awesome. Next time will just stick to Miller Lite.

Great atmosphere but many places on the islands have this. Service was bad which was a product of their seat yourself policy and inability to control their staffs' volume. In other words, it was not our sever's fault. Mahi Mahi dinner was good but accompanying veggies were not. Key-lime colada was excellent. Overall, I would have rated the place 4 stars had the service been good.

My wife and have been here twice. The first time was fantastic! The food and drinks were delicious. I had ordered a fish sandwich that was delicious. However, I was a bit clumsy and dropped my drink all over it. It was clearly my fault so I simply ordered another sandwich and expected to pay for it. However, the manager came over and comped the ruined sandwich for me, which was really above and beyond what I expected! Given that experience we came back a year later and it was a different story. We arrived about an hour and a half before closing for some key lime pie and a couple drinks. We were treated rather rudely by the gentleman who brought us to our table. He also took our drink order and continued to be rude. It wasn't until our actual waitress came that we received what I would deem acceptable service. I worked in a restaurant for a while and I fully understand the frustration of the staff when diners come in close to closing time, but for me that was never a reason to allow customer service to stop. Our waitress did a good job but the process of being greeted and sat left us with a bad taste in our mouth. We would still come back as we understand that things happen every once in a while. I wouldn't discourage anyone from eating here, in fact I would recommend it. The food, drink, and atmosphere are great! When we return if the customer service is closer to our fm first visit I would gladly increase my rating.

5 stars just for atmosphere. Music, view, sunset and a great vibe. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all worth it at this Islamorada tradition. Food is good but casual. Get there a bit early for a nice spot at sunset.

  • Colleen M.

My husband and I met another couple there and sat between them at the bar. They had already ordered food and drinks for themselves. When we got there we placed our order separately. Each of us probably had one more drink after the initial order. We didn't think it would be a problem to have the bartender split the check. The two women bartenders were complaining that couples should sit together (my husband and I were together as I said earlier). The one bartender proceeded to literally throw the check at us and said, "you all figure it out!" I have never in my life been treated so poorly by anyone in the bar/restaurant business. I will enjoy a sunset somewhere else in Islamorada and will never return here again.

While the view is awesome the service is quite subpar. The entire meal for 8 people tool 2 full hours and the servers acted if they couldn't be bothered with making it better. Bummer because we really like the ambience of this place.

Stopped here on our way to Key West....SUCH A great find! I had the mahi mahi/fish tacos & they were huge! Not possible to eat them all. Wish my husband & I had shared. Really great atmosphere, good music, sat right on the sand & even got to see 2 manatees right off the dock. Love places like this!

Nice atmosphere sitting on a beach area looking at the water. Was large and felt a bit touristy. Service was very slow and seemed way understaffed. Ate the fish tacos and a salad. Food was marginal.

We ate here several times during our weeklong stay. Food and service were both consistently great! Breakfast is yummy and priced very well $5-$10. For dinner we had an awesome appetizer (cabana madness) and cracked conch. Also tried fish tacos and fish sandwich. All yummy. Place has a beautiful view and great live music. Must check out!

Location - A View - A Drinks - B (stick to Bottled beer) Food - D What a shame...totally tasteless grilled fish tacos, doughy flour tortillas, cheap cheese and bland salsa. I can only imagine this is what Applebee's tastes like. The "famous fish sandwich" not much better. Too bad!

  • Amy O.

I typically love this place, but the chunky blonde waitress was probably one of the most rude people I have ever met. She refused to serve our party of four until she finished serving her friends (who arrived after we did). She was not charging her friends the full price, as she rung up 4 frozen drinks, and when she was finished, her computer screen read "$3.15". Nothing on the menu costs $3.15. When we asked if we could order, she snapped, "I'm not ready for you yet!" We had planned on ordering food, but she made it clear that she didn't want customers, so we left. It was my parents' first trip to the Keys, and I had to apologize for the flat rude treatment we recieved at Lorelei's. I'm not saying that I won't go back, but I won't introduce people to it. And if they can't get better servers, I'll be marking this off my list for good.

This was a great place for appetizers and drinks, especially because of the atmosphere. Their beer list is decent, and the food prices aren't bad. The tuna nachos were outstanding and they clearly used good quality and really fresh tuna. Also a great, creamy version of key lime pie. Fish dip was pretty good, though we've had better. We started at the bar and were able to grab a waterfront table pretty quickly, and the view over the water was great. Really, really relaxed feeling, all around, and the cover band that was playing live was both pretty good and pretty quiet/unobtrusive.

We stop here almost every time we come to the keys of not just for the atmosphere and view. Food is alright, cracked conch was the best thing we had. Shrimp tacos were okay, we got them blackened thinking maybe the fried would have been better. Key lime pie was lacking the key lime flavoring in my opinion. It was just too subtle for me. Pies texture was creamy, but almost identical to frozen cool whip. Wouldn't waste my time on the pie next time.

When we asked the locals on the dive boat where we could go for some live music many recommended this place with the caveat that they only serve bar food. We went for the sunset, music and low key vibe. Everything was great with the exception of trying to seat yourself with a large party. We ended up circling a couple of tables like sharks so we could pounce when they got up. The food was better than bar food in my opinion. Service was good. Bring some bug spray but it's all outdoors so only go when you have good weather.

With great music and atmosphere, this restaurant does not need to have the best food in order to be successful. The prices are reasonable for food and drink.

This place was such a neat find! We watched the beautiful sunset over the water and it was breathtaking. It's such a cool beachy feel with Palm trees, sand under your toes, and live music. We also saw a magician preform that did great. He was very enthusiastic and fun to watch. The food was great too! The only reason it did not receive 5 stars is because service was extremely slow. It took over an hour to get our food.

  • Kimberly S.

Not white? Not welcome. I am not terribly inclined to go on, but for the sake of those who have a reason to go on....peel + eat shrimp wasn't awful and the chicken wings were quite tasty. All of this was hard to digest while breathing in the stench of spilled domestic beer and the toxic fumes of overt prejudice.

Was referred to this restaurant by a friend. We were leaving the Keys and stopped in for a quick lunch. We sat at a high-top table adjacent to the bar. Our drink orders were taken and then service was slow. We ordered three appetizers and only two were delivered. The third was placed in line and was delivered later. We ordered lunch and it took a long, LONG time to be delivered. Fish sandwiches(3) had good flavor but were cold. The portobello burger was also cold and soggy. The shrimp tacos were warm and crunchy and had good flavor. Drinks were slow in being delivered. Service was overall poor. The food was good but our quick lunch was a two+ hour ordeal. Atmosphere is good but not if you are looking for a quick bite.

Hidden gem of fantastic food (especially the fish tacos and the interesting key lime pie dish), with live music right on the waterway! The service is certainly on island time, but stick it out and you'll love this place.

Snow crab and lobster tail are so good, the environment in general is perfect for relaxing with friends at a quiet saturday afternoon. Two of my friends and me ordered the lobster, crab, the tuna tartar. We choose to sit by the beach (water) and enjoy a nice view of the bay. The pina colada is also good. Everything from the menu is very fresh. This not some high end seafood restaurant but the food is just as good.

Came in around 8:30. Sat right away in the front; great band playing. Fish dip was good. Wish they would've offered a non-cracker option (like veggies to dip?) had the blackened shrimp tacos - they were yummy. Waitress warned us of a 45 min wait for food, but it came in 25 minutes; a pleasant surprise. Beautiful area right on the water. Menu isn't huge, but has plenty of options. Definitely worth coming to...

Get here early to find a good spot on the beach for sunset. Ask for Ernie! He is amazing! We got there in time for happy hour (4-6pm). It's a dollar off bottle beers. $1.25 domestic drafts and $1.75 craft beer special (Key West Ale). The margarita is great! Try the stone crab chowder. Always check the daily specials. They are very reasonably priced.

I was blown away by this place. It was recommended by a friend when my girlfriend and I went down to the Keys for a day trip. My girlfriend wanted to have lunch at a place that had a water view. This place definitely delivered. All the tables are outside and we sat at a table on the deck right next to the edge of the water. There were several small boats docked on the beach next to us which added to the beautiful view. The restaurant also had tables out in the sand which we thought was neat! Now to the food... We started off ordering frozen drinks, the Key lime Colata and the Buschwacker. The Key Lime Colata was amazing, it actually tasted like real key lime pie (I ordered a second). The Buachwacker was great too. It is like a mudslide only stronger and chocolateyer lol. From there we ordered the fried mahi-mahi fish tacos which were amazing too. They were fresh and crispy...sooo good! Oh, I almost forgot:.. we ordered the clam chowder first. It was their first homerun. It had amazing flavor. We weren't in any rush so we ordered the chips and salsa for only $2.95 and got a huge serving. We told the waitress, Sharon (ask for her when you're there, she was great) that we were going to relax and take our time eating and drinking ;), she was more than accommodating. We didn't feel rushed at all like other restaurants make you feel. This place definitely gets 5 stars from me. Stop in when you're driving down through the keys. You won't regret it.

Go for the spectacular view and the atmosphere at sunset. There are tables on the beach and on the deck, all with beautiful views. Live music was playing and the setting was just to die for. The food and the service, however, were very underwhelming. The food is reasonably priced but nothing special and we had to chase down a server for a menu, to bring us food, and for the check. I would go for a drink at sunset but skip out on the food there.

This place is all about expectations. Expect good food and you will be disappointed. Expect a good location and some drinks, and you will be happy. We expected the good food part but knew better after reading the Yelp reviews. But on a Saturday night in the keys around 7, everything was booked up and this was the place we were at that had availability (another restaurant didn't have availability til 9:30). So we 'ended up' here. You seat yourself. We got a table on the beach, that was actually pretty cool. We had 8 in our party and needed two tables, and no staff would help us move another table together. Okkkkk. Food an drink took forever and it was just so 'so-so'. Staff was ehh as well (dude seemed annoyed to be working).

Six reasons to avoid Lorelei, the most shameless tourist trap in Islamorada. It's even worse than Islamorada Fish Company, which is horrible, but Lorelei is worse because this place outwardly pretends it's quaint and local. 1) They use an electronic portion control system to ensure you don't get 1 milliliter more alcohol in your drinks than their computerized server farm allows. This is the lamest, most anti-Keys move ever. Until you get served your weak drink in a 10oz plastic cup full of ice. Which makes the sucking worse. 2) The staff is generally miserable, with that hollow eyed look North Korean prisoners exhibit. Want a laugh, perfunctory conversation or anything hinting at humanity? Go elsewhere. 3) The "Fish Dip" isn't identifiable as fish or dip. It's a thick, lifeless, tasteless, tiny, ice cream scoop of mystery texture and antimatter. It's served with a dozen of those incredibly cheap, brittle, inexplicably fire engine red "tortilla chips" they serve at Disney. You've been warned. 4) The "Conch Salad" is literally disgusting and unidentifiable. It's like 2oz of some weird, darkish (vision dark canned tuna) farmed protein hidden inside a pile of cheap romain lettuce and served with 10 Sysco butter crackers. I've had conch 758 times and this isn't conch. You've been warned. 5) When the band plays, 126' away from the main bar, the music isn't piped in, leaving you staring at dead speakers. What's the point? 6) When they hand over your $60 tab for a couple of vodka sodas and two inedible apps, and you leave sober and nauseous, refer back to this review.

We stopped by here because a couple of our close friends were raving about how great this restaurant was. I can admit the view is amazing as we watched the sunset. But other than the view, I didn't see a reason why people would come to this location. There wasn't a hostess, instead you had to fight for a table - kind of like at the mall food court. Cuisine category is listed as seafood, but I think this should be changed to Fast Food with slow service.

This was a recommendation by my dad who lived here 20 years ago. Still amazing even now. Fish tacos were delish!!! Conch fritters and stone crab chowder also very tasty. Can get any closer to dining on the beach... Literally. Great meal. Great location and amazing views of sunset.

Best place we have eaten thus far in the keys. Dreamy, tropical location with outdoor beach dining or walk up and seat yourself deck dining. The Mahi tacos were amazing! I had mine blackened and it was a tasty seasoning, better than most. Grilled and fried are also an option. It was $10 for 3 huge tacos. Comes with salsa, guacamole, and sour cream on the side. They have a $6 kids menu and daily specials too! Hubby had the Mahi sandwich and fresh French fries. Again, delist and huge! My daughter had the fish nuggets, which were great and the homemade chips. We will be back for sure!

Very friendly atmosphere but the place is hot!! The heat at the bar was unbearable and we couldn't stay long. Yes I know this is the Florida Keys but this was exceptionally hot. The appetizers are simple and not very tasteful. We tried three including the "famous" fish dip.

Hosted a welcome buffet dinner for our wedding guests (held the next day at another establishment in Islamorada). Everyone was extremely professional, the event was phenomenal, and they even ordered up the perfect sunset for us. Also, were extremely forthright and honest about the final invoice, not once trying to gouge us like everyone else does when you say the word "wedding".

Best place to hear music, have a drink, get a good simple meal and watch the sunset. It's a bar so keep your food choices simple and you'll be happy. Enjoy the atmosphere and the crowd. Don't miss this place while in Islamorada,

This is a wonderful place to go and watch the sunset. The staff are very friendly, the food is good, and they have reasonably priced beverages. It has a festival atmosphere at sunset with bands playing by the tiki bar. Your can arrive by car or boat. It would be a great place to take people when they come to town to visit.

First time here -- sat out on the deck and listened to live music.Had the key lime colada, which was fantastic. I had shrimp tacos and they were hands-down the best shrimp tacos I had in the Keys. Great view of the water here and the staff were very friendly.

Great place for sunsets and good food. Getting a table is a hassle...it's every man for himself. After you get a table, a fun place to be. Go early.
