I'll admit, I wasn't expecting much out of a resort restaurant, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I had the fried green tomato BLT with a tangy aioli that went together perfectly. My sister had an offshoot of a French dip and it was outstanding. My mom wanted something "light" and order the smoked wahoo dip and it was fresh and delicious as well- accompanied with peppers, fresh mustard, capers and the like to enjoy with the fish dip. The service was friendly and prompt, so I recommend coming here even if you're not staying at the resort.

Today is a sunny Sunday afternoon, there is live music playing and a Pig roast is happening outside. The ambience is nice for family with children. They have 2 small to mid size pools and a "tiki bar". The drinks are good..... The service is weird. We were charged right after we ordered our drinks and we hadn't gotten them yet. We were not even asked if we wanted anything else... Felt like they were already kicking us out.

Beautiful setting and wonderful food. Who needs blood pressure meds when you have this place. This outdoor bar/cafe is off the charts good. I had the fried pickles, conch chowder, and Philly Tuna Sandwich. Believe it or not this was the first place I ever tried fried pickles, maybe 8 years ago. Nothing is better than then salty flavor of a sliced pickle that is fried. Problem is that these little fried morsels are so addictive that before you know it they are all gone. They are served with a nice dipping sauce which is jazzed up version of thousand island dressing. they definitely compliment each other. The conch chowder is some of the best I have ever had (see pic). It had a nice kick to it which gave it a good flavor punch. Just delicious. The cherry on top on my sundae was the Tuna Philly Cheese Sandwich (see pic). Man was this sandwich good. The tuna was cooked medium rare with grilled onions, green peppers and cheese. When the sandwich was delivered I was not that impressed. What threw me off was the way the tuna was cooked. I've had a Tuna Philly before but the tuna was cooked throughout not medium rare. You really have to trust your fish when you prepare it this way so I was real spectacle when I first saw it because it looked like a sushi sandwich...lol. Boy oh boy was I ever so wrong. I took a couple of bites of this thing and I was chewing I looked at my wife, then looked at the view of the Atlantic Ocean, looked at my kids and thought this could be the best day of my life:) Just plain awesome on a plate. Service is slow, but hey your in the keys so who really cares. I didn't. The view is to kill, but as stated in the other review the cafe is near a pool so if your looking for a quite romantic dinner you can forget it. Great Vibe, killer conch chowder, a sandwich from the gods, and a view to kill...need I say more:) Yes I do, remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Hungry!

Nice atmosphere it is next to a pool but not frat boy loud. I've always had very nice service here a little better than the food I've had here. I do not like the fried conk. Way to chewy for me. But I am not a conk connoisseur I am an avid fish lover. The tuna burger ehh. The tuna was very stringy & tough not exactly on my fab list. The fish dip wasn't half bad. My friend usually gets the veggie burger and swears by it. The veggie & goat cheese sandwich looked good. It's a pool bar outside on the back of the Islander ( the hotel with the horizontal sign that says Islander). Don't expect an out of this world dinning experience but it is except able pool bar food. I wouldn't drive here. I would go here only if I'm staying at the hotel or live close by. There are a lot of these types of hotel Tiki bars. This one is pleasant, could use better food. Also they set up weddings right next to the pool bar a lot. You always see a few wedding goers on the weekend.

This is actually located in the Islander Resort not to be confused with the Islander Motel. Eating here was the highlight of my stay at the Islander. The appetizers here made sweltering in the hot heat worth it all. The lobster tempura and Conch Chowder are worth their weight in gold and I would go back again just for the fried pickle chips. The drinks here are pretty damn good, too. Although I must say it's hit or miss how much booze they actually put in them. My personal recommendations are the Kahlua Colada and the Blue Heron. Prices are right, too. Food in the Keys is hit or miss. This place is a hit.

This is one of our favorite Islamorada spots. I have stayed here at the resort a number of times, and have a friend who lives nearby. His little girls love the pools here. We hang out there while the girls swim and soak up the great ocean views and usually have a pretty decent meal. However, we were very disappointed today at lunch as our favorite dish; the Tuna Philly Sandwich is no longer on the menu. This sandwich was one of the most popular items on the menu (which still has Tuna steak on it). We cannot understand what sort of business logic went into this decision. We strongly suggest the management reconsider this decision.

A great restaurant hidden in the Islander Resort (Motel). It is located on the ocean, at the pool of the resort. All the seating is outside. There is a covered portion that has roll-down curtains for inclement weather. The food is all-around good. They have the best conch chowder in Islamorada, maybe the upper keys. The other dishes are very well prepared also. The only downside is that the restaurant is adjacent to the pool and there tends to be lots of people with kids there on weekends. If family style doesn't bother you then you should be fine.
