I am surprised to see the somewhat negative reviews. I've been going to Pistillis for several years now and find the food always good plenteous and delightful to the taste. Tonight I took my family 5 and 3 guests there to eat. We all are more than we wanted to eat and several of us took food home because we had too much on our plates. the price for this was all under $100. if you can get Peter as your server you'll get plenty of attention.

Decent Italian family restaurant. Prompt service, good pizza, fresh bread sticks. The meat sauce was a bit oily, though. Apart from that it's a good place for a quick bite with the kids.

We have ordered from Pistilli's for years and their pizza ranges from fair to very good, usually hitting the "average" mark. Delivery has always been an issue but I the past 6 to 9 months almost impossible. I would like to note we love the delivery man, always friendly and appreciative of business and has been coming for years. Deliveries on the weekends usually take over an hour, which they tell you up front and you account for this, however being able to PLACE a delivery order has become near impossible. There have been times I have called and no one answers AT all or we get a fast busy signal for hours. Last night, we called at 7 ish and got the standard "can I place you on hold , we have an order of the other line" 15 minutes later , we hung up. I tried again at 830, same response and I eventually hung up after 15 minutes. Last nights experience has sealed that we will never attempt to give them our business and they have lost customers that have been ordering for at least 5 years.

The food is excellent and the service is great. We eat here every year when on vacation. My husband enjoys the eggplant parmesan. I love the chicken margherita. Their cheese garlic bread is yummy. The kid's pizza is huge and good as well. Portion sizes are good and priced decently.

Not sure if ownership has changed or what, but not what we have become accustomed too when eating here on vacation. Have eaten here for years and have always loved everything we had, but on this visit the food did not meet expectations. Bread served was different than usual and undercooked, pasta was ok, but not great and the portions have shrunk to about half what we were use to getting. Employees were loud and service was ok at best. Hope this was just a bad night and things go back to normal.

Food was okay. Nothing special. My veal was over cooked, and the bread was even boring. My girlfriends chicken alfredo tasted like a Weight Watchers frozen dinner. The balsamic dressing for my salad was the best part of my meal. The service was beyond terrible. The menu had little to choose from. Would not recommend to anyone.

Maybe the pizza is okay, but oh my God are the pasta dishes awful. I had spaghetti with meatballs - over-over-over cooked pasta, sauce that tasted like Prego, but sweeter, and meatballs that had the texture of a firm pudding.

On the evening of 08-02-2012, my wife took our family to Pistilli's Indian Harbor Beach restaurant. I did not go with them. She ordered baked ziti and a salad take-out for me and brought it home. I ate the salad and it was very good. When I opened the baked ziti I found that the cheese and pasta on the top was burned black and the ziti was inedible. The blackened cheese had been covered up with red sauce so that anyone looking in the box would not see the burned cheese. It was bad enough that their cook served burnt the food, but then he or she tried to cover it up so that no one would notice until my wife got the meal home. We live near this restaurant have been there several times and we always enjoyed our meals, but we are not likely to return if this kind of dishonesty is typical of their kitchen staff. Why would anyone trust them to maintain a sanitary kitchen. I posted an email complaint through their website before posting this review. They did not not respond to my email. If you think I am ticked off, you're right.

My cable guy recommended this place. Had a wonderful meal. Late afternoon/early dinner specials. Two LARGE tasty entrees, fresh salads, bottle of wine, desserts... around $50. Friendly staff. Will be back. Gotta try the pizza next time.

Visited while on vacation in Florida. Our party had 4 adults, 2 children, $40! Food was amazing. We ordered an 18" Royal pizza and a 4lb Stromboli. Servers were excellent. Absolutely no complaints. This place will soon go to reservation only out of necessity - or add additional locations. Central Florida is blessed!

This is a little hole-in-the-wall gem. I hasten to tell you how much I and my family love it. It's already hard to get a seat on weekends. Jersey-style pizza pie, thin crust.. and lots of traditional Italian-fare along with lots of wonderful specials everytime we go in. Bring your own bottle of wine...no corkage fee. The house dressing (balsamic vinagrette will hopefully one day be bottled for sale...it is the best around!

In my search to find good pizza beachside I ventured into Pistilli's Restaurant & Pizzaria with high hopes. I must have driven by this restaurant one hundred times since they relocated to Eau Gallie Blvd., in a small strip of shops than still holds a long abandoned Crispers restaurant. I had high hopes from a lone favorable review on Yelp and an image on their website from a Grande Cheese advertisement. Grande cheese is a premium provider of mozzarella to mom and pop (non chain pizzerias). Grande is not nearly as good as fresh buffalo style mozzarella but it's a step up from what they use at Pizza Hut. I ate at Pistilli's on a weekday and a 12:45 they were at best quarter full. (Bad sign number one). I took a look at the buffet and worried whether it would be replenished with any frequency. When I asked the waitress if they brought our fresh pizza regularly she hesitated before answering "usually they do." (Bad sign number two). I did not see an individual/personal pizza on the menu so I went with the buffet. ( A mistake ). I later leaned after overhearing another customer order that individual pizza is available (at least at lunch) for $3.99 with before upcharge for topping(s). The buffet with "pizza, pasta, salad and a 'free' drink " is $7.99. If you have a huge appetite and like cool to luke warm pizza that is on the greasy side this might be a good value. I ordered the buffet and an ice tea and hit the buffet while I waited for the tea. There were three pizzas on the buffet each of which was a quarter to half consumed and cut into relatively small slices. I grabbed a slice of Pepperoni and a bread stick and headed back to the table. As I arrived, the waitress brought the tea. I had a bite or two of the pizza then had a sip of the tea. (Mistake number two). In retrospect I should have drank the tea first. It was gross. One sip, and I knew. I had been had. It was fake tea. Yes, I said it gross and sad. I looked up to confirm my suspicion. The tea dispenser, shaped like a brewing machine, had piping (a water supply) running into it and buttons on the front for the waitress to select sweet, unsweet, or Raspberry Lipton. One spout, multiple flavors, and a water intake means only one thing. FAKE TEA. Inside of the dispenser "tea concentrate" full of preservatives and chemicals gets mixed with water in a manner similar to a soda fountain. No brewing here and it tastes like chemicals, preservatives, and pool water. Imagine making tea with cold pool water and tea ground up into powder, boiling it down to a concentrate and adding water to it before serving it. Yes, its gross. It tastes foul and it says to the world "we are too lazy to boil water to brew tea and don't mind serving an inferior product if it conveniences us. We don't care. " If I drank the tea before I ate the pizza I would have thrown down a dollar for the tea and left. But I ate the pizza first so I had to stay. I swapped out the tea for a Coke. As for the pizza it was lukewarm and it was not very fresh. They claim to be New Jersey style. I guess this means a "bridge and tunnel" version of NY style. The cheese was good, the crust and sauce were a little on the bland side. It was almost crispy enough. This slice was fair. Better than Little Caesars, Pizza Hut, or Cibellis, not as good as Bizzaros and it does not hold a candle to the better pizza restaurants in Melbourne (San Remo on the corner of US1 & Eau Gallie or Sweet Tomatos Wickham just north of 192). In an attempt to see if sitting around for 15 minutes has diminished the slice and to get a better presepective of Petrillis potential I waited for a fresh pie, and waited, and waited for more than 15 minutes until a fresh pie (one ) came out. The second pie had fresh tomatoes and some fresh basil. The pie was hot and the bottom of the slice was crisp but underneath the cheese was a thin layer on uncooked dough. I know that some pizza eaters like this. If it was just under a large wet topping I could excuse it but the thin wet dough layer was on the entire slice except the crust. I do not know if this was intentional or just poor preparation. I think they should just abandon the buffet if they do not have the lunch crowd to have pies turnover quickly. It would be better to just serve slices. The pasta on the Pizza, Pasta, Salad buffet was a meager one dish of Ziti in Tomato Sauce. I will still be driving over the Eau Gallie for great pizza an real BREWED ice tea. Even beachside there are better options.

I have waited a long time to review Pistilli's because I selfishly didn't want to share our favorite pizza place. But I am trying to rise about that :) and tell the world about the best pizza in the area. We get delivery or takeout almost once a week. Pizza can be a very personal thing-everyone has an opinion on the best style of pizza. So as objectively as I can, I will describe their pie: their crust is what I would call medium thickness. We always tell them to "burn it" and it comes nicely browned and well done on top. They are fairly generous with their marinara and very generous with the cheese. Just enough ingredients that you get a little in every bite. Really the standout feature is the texture and flavor of the crust-a little sweet, nice and chewy with just enough of the dusting on the bottom that comes from a pizza oven. This really is an excellent pizza and worth the slightly higher prices they charge (get a coupon from the magazine flyers that come in the mail-that helps). Another favorite is their house dressing for salads-made from scratch from a recipe they won't share-it is a little sweet and full of flavor. The restaurant itself is not at all fancy-you get the feeling that it is a big family with lots of brothers and friends working there. If you decide to eat in, they do have great typical Italian restaurant items-parmigiana, spaghetti, etc. Very good. One night a week they do a kids eat free thing-if you don't have kids-we do not...call to make sure that isn't the night you are going :) They do a booming delivery business so it is imperative that you order BEFORE you are really hungry. You are warned it may take an hour for your pizza to arrive-and if often does. But IF they deliver to your area, it is soooo worth it. You could get fast mediocre pizza from any chain in the area-or you could plan ahead, order from Pistilli's, and have a true treat-to die for- pizza delivered to your door. But keep it a secret. I don't know what we'll do if they get even more popular :)

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
