Yay! I'm so glad Dan's is in Crystal River! Finally, somewhere where you can get a good hotel (Kings Bay Lodge) and some really good food. If you like clams, scallops, and other seafood, you need to stop at Dan's! The prices are reasonable, the food is heavenly amazing, and the staff is perfect. I ordered some clam chowder to start out with, and then some clam strips. Boy, were they good! Even though it was kinda quiet in the restaurant, it's still a great place to get some seafood! But they're closed Sunday and Monday. :(

Good food for a small place I've eaten here twice and both time the food was good it's a little tight and the decor could use some updating but all in all clean and a good place to eat.

Food was just "OK" and a little overpriced for the area. Not sure why people go out of their way to eat here. Maybe it was an off-day for them.

Hooray for Dan's Clam Stand! Finally, a place in the Homosassa/Crystal River area worth stopping in to eat. My Dad has lived in this area for the past 15 years. I visit 1-3 times per year for long weekends to either see Dad and/or snorkel with some manatees. Good food is often hard to come by in this town so I wasn't expecting much when I went to Dan's this past weekend. I have passed Dan's on the corner of Arrowhead and Grover Cleveland about 100 times over the last several years. I never thought to stop here, but I am SOOOO glad that I did. My aunt, uncle, father, husband and 7 year old finicky kid brother stopped here for a bite to eat. Immediately I see alligator on the menu and have flash backs of eating this stuff back in New Orleans at Jazz Fest. We order up some gator poppers for an appetizer. Everyone is like, "EWWWW gator!" But boy do they shut up when they sink their teeth into this stuff. Not rubbery at all and very tasty. I order the grouper fingers with cajun fries. My husband orders the grouper sandwich. Some of the BEST fried fish we've ever had. Totally fresh with a crunchy batter. My Dad gets fried shrimp with hush puppies. I look away for a split second and turn to say something to him and his plate is clean. Surprisingly, my 7 year old brother, who we normally need to force feed, eats almost the entire plate of chicken fingers and even tried (and liked) the fried gator. Lastly my aunt and uncle order the house burgers ($6.50 what a deal) and do nothing but rave about them for the rest of the evening. At first the servers didn't seem thrilled about us being there. The family had not gotten together for awhile so we were cracking jokes and being kind of loud. After we ordered about $100 worth of food and drinks, they were suddenly much friendlier and joined right in the conversation with us. I have to say, Dan's is so far my favorite place in this area. I will definitely be back to try some of the steamed piss clams (no, that's not a typo - they have something call "piss" clams also known as "steamers" up north).

Food was decent but didn't match the hype that got me to come here. Portions were small, overpriced, and my snow crab legs arrived half cold. BBQ rub wings were good and the place is clean but that's all I got for ya.

Pretty good seafood at reasonable price. I had the grouper burger which was fresh tasting. Fries and tartar sauce were unremarkable however.
