Yuk! Seriously... I'm still kicking myself in the buttocks for trying this place instead of riding my motorcycle back to Morelia's in Homestead. Rode into the park on Sunday and noticed they had finally opened that little cafe down in Flamingo. Menu looked good, sights even prettier, and I was hungry! So, I decided to give the place a try instead of going back to my favorite Mexican place in Homestead; boy, what a mistake that was. Ordered the gator bites appetizer and the grouper sandwich upon the servers recommendation. I know, I know, large girlfriend's tattoo on his neck and wearing sunglasses while working not withstanding, he's a local, he should know best right...? Well, the gator bites weren't too bad. It's very possible they were cooked within the week and the Heinz barbecue sauce was fresh, oh well. Not a good start. Grouper sandwich arrives at the same time, and if you don't mind it on white toast with TONS of cajun spice, it too appeared cooked within the week. The fries, well, I wish they too had been cooked within the week. Actually, I wish they had been cooked at all, raw fries, nasty. On a positive note, it was an absolutely beautiful day and the Ospreys were all over, plus I didn't get sick and the bill was only $28 for one person not including tip. Alright, at least I didn't get sick and it was a beautiful day. Now, if I can only stop kicking myself in the ass for this, had to take the risk, it could have been good! But it wasn't... Enjoy, life is good!

This is the only place to sit and eat in Everglades National Park. It's low key and casual, paper plates and plastic utensils. Having said all of that, it was pretty good. The black angus burger (pretty sure it was a bubba burger) was really good, it was served really hot with a generous serving of fries. I was offered key lime pie for dessert, but I declined as it's not my thing. The woman who served me was friendly, genuine and efficient. My burger, with extra cheese and a can of diet coke was 14.00. This is a little steep, but for being the only food for 40 miles LITERALLY, it was ok.

We went there knowing the reviews weren't great. What can I say, we were hungry. Our expectations were low. We both ordered a cheese burger. Actually it wasn't bad. It's cooked one way. Medium well. Little overdone for me but it was still juicy, believe it or not. We both had bottled water. They don't serve tap water. The service was a little slow. Only one server. She was ok. We would go back. It was ok.

This place has truly awful, overpriced junk food. The kitchen is one of those mobile food trucks, and the dining room is a connected screened-in patio. Because this restaurant has a monopoly at Everglades NP, they prey on unsuspecting tourists who lack other choices, which are 56 miles away in Homestead, FL. After perusing the menu and not finding anything worthy of ordering, we decided to split an order of fries and I bought a can of Diet Coke. The bill was almost $8 --- wtf, this is not New York City for gosh sake!

I must have visited a different place than the other two reviewers or else, like some seasonal places things may have changed. Being a café on a camp ground and the only game in town (you are literally at the end of the earth in the middle of nowhere) I went in with not much expectation just wanted some basic grub. Boy was I surprised. I have gotten to know the whole menu since I was visiting for a few days and had no desire to cook for a change--everything was great! Particular standouts were the home made pizza!!! Outstanding, I would put it up against some of the best. I got the supreme with the works and I devoured every last bite. The Key lime pie made from scratch was the best I had and I had just come from a week in the keys so that's saying something. I loved the Grouper sandwich, fresh and yummy. I got salads(the buttermilk dressing is homemade) most of the time and enjoyed the cole slaw. Can't speak for the burgers since I never got them and I would say the Shrimp dish is a bit overpriced. Another big surprise was the Veggie burger. I am not a big fan but my server kept suggesting it and when he mentioned I should ask for a Barsky special I went ahead and got it & man was it good. Spicy and sloppy and all kinds of good! I do wish they had wine as an option, but there is only beer:( They could use cookies or brownies or something for a dessert option and a nice turkey club I think would be a great edition for something on the go! The service was friendly, fast, and on point! I was pretty impressed at the volume they dealt with and the varied guests. Standouts where MAMA the cook extraordinare with a nice personality to match and a lot of knowledge of cooking and David, a Philly boy in for the season had a great disposition. The view is lovely and def. worth checking out for sure! It's a great way to meet some different people while you are enjoying the solitude, fishing, and nature the Everglades has to offer!

In a nutshell: Frozen mushy burgers, buns not good. Fries ehhh. Wondered if pizza would've been better. Off season (outside of dec25-mid April) menu is less and only Budweiser. 2 stars because waitress was nice and Gator bites were decent. Id skip it and hit the store by the marina for sandwiches etc...
