This is a very tasty place. Went for dinner, had Sashimi, the dragon roll and the shrimp tempura roll.. all items were bombastic!!! Well made, ingredients were delicious and unforgettable. This place outbeats Sushi Maki even though I like this place as well. Sake itself is very nice, open space, fresh, good service.

This restaurant is AWESOME! We go here at least once a month. I had the Sea Bass on this trip and it was amazing! I've had the tempura as well as Pad Thai. I have never been disappointed at Sake. Service is good. I don't do sushi so I can't speak to that but the Thai food is to die for. A little pricy but well worth it.

We eat here OFTEN. Love it, love it. We only order sushi and it is 99.9% always at the utmost freshest sushi. It is not in an area that would be a great place to take company to impress them with the area and the ambiance, but if you want great sushi at a great price, then this is the place to go. We only go here and Sushi Rock in Las Olas. This is a huge place for a sushi bar and we love it. Only wish we lived a little closer so they would deliver!!

Found this place on Yelp! Very, VERY good sushi. Can't wait to go back!

For the price range it offers I'd expect a little better service (quicker delivery of orders and better room for large groups) - but that's all I can take a star off for .. which is saying something. Food is tasty and very good - the setting is fairly classy. Since the place is usually busy a little wait time should be accounted for. The house salads are good(though the cucumbers could be cut a little finer) - both the peanut dressing and ginger dressing(which I was a touch unsure about) - taste awesome. Traditional dishes like Panang Curry, Green Curry and Pad Thai taste pretty authentic. The special fried rice with Chicken, Pork and Shrimp - aimed more at the American crowd is very filling and tastes good. The clinchers are, however - the Lemon Pepper Snapper (a touch expensive but delicious! ) , and the Tempura Cheesecake for Dessert (carry one back home - you would NOT regret spending $7 on a dessert ).

My favorite Thai place. I have eaten here quite a few times for lunch and a couple times for dinner. The food is consistently great and tasty. I really love the Thai curry and panang dishes. I have ordered some sushi appetizers too and they have been really good too. They have an appetizer called Tuna Eiffel and it tastes even better than it looks; the presentation gets an A+. The portions are really big, even for lunch and they are priced under $10. I usually get 2 meals out of it. The decor is also really nice and the service is friendly.

I have been here three times in the past month and loved every meal. It's a great place to bring a book, have some sake, and read, or if you prefer, bring a date and enjoy a delicious dinner. I love their tuna tataki and shrimp shumai appetizers, as well as their dragon rolls. You can go crazy and ask for a red dragon or orange dragon, and they'll add tuna or salmon on top. This place has delicious Japanese food as well as Thai, so it caters to a variety of tastes. It's also got a full bar, so you can enjoy a variety of drinks besides sake or plum wine if you want to get creative.

Working in the Hollywood Blvd. area only twice a month has not allowed us to get to know the area very well. So, looking for a new place to have a good lunch I turn to my one and only YELP, of course!!! I come across this place and, after reading Shari and BeachGir L.'s reviews, suggested to hubby to go there and off we went. Like so many of my fellow yelpers have mentioned before, if it wasn't for Yelp and our wonderful reviews, I would had never thought of going into this restaurant. The outside of the place would never tell you that the inside of the restaurant is so nice and inviting. Being 12:30pm, rush hour lunch time, I figured there would be a wait but, to my surprise, there wasn't. The place was pretty busy but we were greeted and seated immediately. Our very nice and friendly waitress, Jo (yes, that's how it's spelled) came over for our drink order and gave us a few minutes to look at the menu which is very big, it being a Thai and Sushi restaurant. Jo, very nicely and patiently answered hubby's questions on his three choices and suggested the one she thought was best for what he was looking for. Off Jo goes to place our orders and, in a few minutes we had our salad and miso soup. Their ginger dressing was very tasty. Hubby's plate with basil leaves sauce was delicious with the right amount of spicy without being over bearing. My pork pad thai was perfect. The flavor, the sauce, the amount made it the absolutely wonderful lunch I was looking for. Thanks Jo and Sake for a great and quick lunch. We are looking forward to our next visit and trying other wonderful plates.

This is the first time I went to this restaurant. I don't think I will go back again. I ordered a sashimi bowl and the fish tasted cheap and not fresh. I was surprise that there is quite a lot of people in the restaurant and ending up with a unhappy experience. They spend some money on the interior design. But it's funny that they spend good money on half of the restaurant and the other half they keep the old dinner booth chairs and table. I found that very strange. The only thing is good there I guess was their thai menu. But like I said, don't order sushi or sashimi there. They are not good quality fish.

Tried Japanese food once, disappointed, then tried their Thai food, still disappointed. However, I saw many non Asian customers there, maybe it is just too Americanized. Asian customers do not like it which does not mean it tastes bad for American customers.

LOVE IT!!! My wife and I frequent this restaurant - mostly for sushi, but often for spicy Thai dishes as well. The ambiance is very nice, restaurant is clean and well-kept, service is great, and most importantly, the sushi is FRESH! We're pretty experienced sushi lovers and they don't mind our crazy special orders - and they always get them right! Highly recommend Sake all the way around.

Ok so I went back here after my last post, and something has definitely changed. There was hair in our drinks, the sushi wasn't that great and there was literally no one here but us. Guess we were lucky the first few times.

We love the seafood and sushi, and the soups are delicious. We either eat in or take out at least once a week. Try the tom yum goong or the won ton soup. Three ocean roll is great. If they could get their chicken dishes improved, I'd give it 5 stars. Unfortunately, the chicken dishes are pretty dry.

Food is excellent along with presentation. The service is avgerage. Overall, great place for Sushi or Thai. My favorites are: Spicy Tuna Salad, Red Curry and the Yummy Roll

cute place...big menu...had some kind of tempura roll that I can't remember the name but it was really good...portions are big...servers are friendly...only tihng that is annoying is the booths...if someone at the next next to you moves, you will move too....they should get it fixed..other than that I'll be back..

Good food, served fresh. What I like to call "Americanized Thai" The store itself is pleasant inside, nice comfortable booths and some tables. The fish tank is a nice relaxing addition to the ambiance The bathrooms are clean and icy. I would come here for a quick lunch or dinner

I went for the first time and was disappointed. The reviews seemed pretty good, so I decided to give a try. The food was okay. I ordered the pad Thai shrimp, however, there were only 3 shrimps in it -_-. Talk about cheap. Also, the customer service was beyond HORRIBLE!!!. Our server was extremely mean and should not be working there. The worst part was, When I would ask for something ( napkins, utensils, To go box) and she would reply with a nasty attitude and walk away speaking in Chinese/ Japanese, whatever it was. Honestly, go elsewhere and don't waste your time. That server got lucky that gratuity was included in the bill if not, she wouldn't have even received a penny from me!!! Also, I tried getting help from another server because ours disappeared and she was even worse. Lastly, my boyfriend ordered a crab tempura dish and it was burned. I asked for it to be taken off the check- of course the server was upset.

I love this place! The service is great, and the atmosphere is splendid. My girlfriend order the Sea bass. It was awesome!! The conch salad is great too! They have Thai ice tea which is bomb!! Love it here!

Best Thai food around!!! This has become my favorite sushi & Thai restaurant!! I usually order the red Thai curry which is the best around! Have also had the sushi, which is also very good!!

  • Cassandra V.

Consistently great food. We have been coming to this restaurant for years and always always love our food and experience. Mind you, I don't need to be buttered up, I just like the server to do a good job and be pleasant. The reason for my review? I do not understand nor agree with the fact that it appears they have lost stars over the last year. We have moved out of the area and still make the hike across Fort Lauderdale several times a month for a meal for two, to meet up with friends, or treat visiting family.

The best sushi in town. I try other places, but nothing compares so far. The sushi is big in portion size. Quality is so tasty it melts in my mouth. Every item on their menu will not disappoint. Service is good, but sometimes they can rush. That needs improvement. However, won't keep me away. Been going there for years.

A co-worker and I took a ride out here for lunch today. I am on a mission to find good sashimi somewhere within a reasonable distance of our office. So I coaxed my friend to take a drive...it's about as far as we can go and still have time to eat. I ordered the Sashimi Mori, but I got the Sashimi Combo instead. I didn't realize it at first that they didn't give me the Tuna Tataki, so I figured it may have been a lunch time thing. I didn't pursue it with the server, as we were short on time after the drive. My friend ordered steamed gyoza and hurumaki with a side of rice. She loved the gyoza, and they looked delicious. Can't comment on the hurumaki as she ordered that to go. The sashimi was very good. I loved the white tuna. I drifted off somewhere because it was so good, and I realized my friend was telling me something. I had to stop and rethink what she told me because my mind was enjoying the white tuna. Ooops. The red tuna okay, but didn't taste very fresh, but not bad. The salmon melted in my mouth, but had a bit of an after taste. The other fish was supposed to be hamachi, but it did't look like hamachi, and I am still learning. Maybe someone can identify it for me in the pic? I may have ranked them higher if they didn't give me something other than what I ordered without telling me. Also our server disappeared, so it took awhile for her to bring our check. I don't think I will make the trip there again unless it's to go.

Too expensive for the quality of the food. The shrimp was overcooked to the point that it was 'gummy'. Also, I think our waitress had a hearing problem, she messed up our order. The only ok dish was the pad thai.

  • Christina M.

I'm a fan! Granted it's not the best sushi I've ever had but I would most definitely return. Me and my friend came on a Saturday afternoon around 4PM and it was pretty dead, first thing I noticed was how huge the establishment is. There are ample seats and it seems they get pretty crowded on weekend nights. The bar area is very trendy. This restaurant is made for large crowds. Which is a big plus. There's nothing worse than going to a sushi joint where it's small and overcrowded. Our service was hand-on, but we had 3 different waitresses. The same waitress never came more than once to our table. Maybe it's how they do lunchtime. As far as the food, I ordered the shrimp dumpling soup and it was really good! I loved the dumplings and it was so flavorful and it was hot. I ordered the french roll, and while it was good, it wasn't outrageous. I could tell that the crab and cream cheese were fresh though, so that's a plus. BTW, The only "French" thing about this roll is that is appeared to be wrapped in a crepe. Which ironically did not enhance the flavor. I loved their spicy mayo though! I would like to come back here and try the other rolls, as they do have a very extensive menu! My next try will probably be the pad thai. Seems as if they have been here a very long time, so they are worth checking out.

This place is close to where I am staying so I decided to give it a shot since I was craving some sushi. The roll was fresh and nicely tightly rolled. The eel sauce was nice and the Gyoza were crispy even after I got home. Would try again and since it is very close to my place it is a plus. It's kinda hidden in the plaza but was busy for a Sunday night which I think is good sign. It was clean but side note the staff was not friendly but got my order right and quickly so I'll over look the blank stares.

So the dinner came out to $101.17. My waitress was less than mediocre. I mean all she did was bring me what I ordered and that was it. No small talk...no refills on my drinks...no water...no wet naps. No nothing. Didn't even ask me if I was enjoying my food and if everything was alright. So the check comes and I was about to not even give her a tip. So instead I decided I would. I Gabe her $3.83 tip to make it an even $105.00. She ran up on me and asked me If there was something wrong with her service tonight. I asked her why did she ask. She pulls out the receipt showing the tip I left and states I didn't leave her the suggested amount. Dude I could not believe this shit. I simply asked her "what service are you talking about...I didn't receive any service from you all you did was bring my food...I could've gotten my own food if you would've just signaled me at my table. That's the type of service you gave me" I almost erased that damn tip off the receipt. The audacity. The food was good I have no complaints. I don't think I'll ever want to take my family there again.

This place isn't bad for a sushi & thai joint. There are pure japanese restaurants with worse sushi. We tried this place out since it's close by and delivers. Happy with the sushi and sashimi we ordered! Better than publix but not as good as your 4 star sushi joints. The uni was surprisingly really fresh and delicious!!

  • Willow R.

I've ordered from this place 5+ times and have gotten the same thing every order. A big eye roll and the Tom Kha Kai. Every time my food was stellar! They put a TON of tempura in the big eye roll and it is SO GOOD. However, the fish was cut against the grain a few times but that doesn't really bother me since their fish is always so fresh (at least whenever I order it) The Tom Kha Kai is so freaking good and they put a crap load of mushrooms, chicken, and scallions in it. It's a meal all on it's own and you can adjust the spiciness to your liking. Big Plus. I do have a complaint though. I live maybe 7 minutes away and it's still out of the delivery zone? BOO. They definitely need to broaden that a bit so more people can order for delivery.

Vegetarians beware! While I have actually enjoyed the food for a number of years now, my family will no longer be visiting Sake. We do not eat meat and despite mentioning this repeatedly to the wait staff, have found pieces of chicken mixed into vegetable/tofu dishes numerous times. One of our daughter's friends, also a vegetarian, has also reported this in recent months as well. Sorry Sake, we will not be returning!

This place is close to me, so I have tried very hard to be a fan. The one thing I can say that is great is the website. If you want to order take out the website method is convienent and easy and has pictures of pretty much everything. However, I still believe the prices are too high. This is an average sushi/thai place with prices that are about $5 more than other places. Sure the ambiance is nice, but I haven't found the service to be anything special that would make me go back.

This was my go-to joint when I didn't want to cook. People I have eaten with here have gotten sick before, but I dismissed it, because nothing was wrong with the rest of us. However, now I am the one who threw up all night, and sadly it can't be anything but the dish I had there. I have been going to Sake Thai ever since the place opened. So sad, I won't go anymore.

YUM!! great selection of Thai & Japanese dishes. I love the Katsu roll (fried chicken) & their pad thai is exceptional. They are pretty fast during lunch hour too & have take out. One of the office favorites, food is always good.

My favorite sushi and Thai spot... Everything is seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The freshest and most flavorful ingredients used for the sushi and all of their dishes. Their fried rice is also amazingggg!

I tried take out from here. Counter service was extremely slooooow but the sushi was amazing. We tried 3 different rolls & the tuna takaki salad (mouth watering). The place was very busy during dinner time so apparently the general population loves it. If it wasn't so far away it'd be my go-to sushi joint.

This place is great! The atmosphere is pleasant! The decor gorgeous! The restaurant is airy and spacious! The service is great! My server was really sweet and attentive. The food is delicious. They have a large selection. I've been here twice and each experience has been wonderful!! I truly hope they make it. It is the best sushi thai place in west hollywood. The salad dressing was so yummy and they have 3 different kinds. I love options. The rolls were perfect. The freshness of the fish was beyond. I'm super happy!

Great place! Steady traffic, fresh made sushi! It was my first time going as I am kind of new to the sushi experience....This place was chosen on a whim and I was so pleased with how clean and nice it was. Friendly staff and huge portions! I recommend having the thai tea so delicious!

Horrible!!!! Never tried this place and only went here because the nearby sushi place was close. Order three rolls (rainbow, crazy, spicy tuna) from them and all were very BAD. The rice was very wet and mushy. The fish was not fresh. Could not finish the meal. Had to throw half of it away AVOID THIS PLACE AND SAVE YOUR MONEY

Absolutely, hands down, the best sashimi ice ever had. I think I might drive 5 hours from Key West to eat here (seriously)! The service was wonderful!

Tried to order via phone and the woman just says "hold" and would either hang up or never come back. This was a 9pm on a Sunday. OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Utter incompetence. Food took another hour and half and was completely underwhelming. AVOID.

  • Nicole B.

This place smells like dying things or rotting fish, maybe some type of other butchering process gone terribly wrong. The glasses were milky and clouded, one had something black on the rim. Miso soup was warm, not hot, and the bowl was dirty on the outside. They need new dishwashers. The roll was presented nicely, but was not made with proper sushi rice and was over saturated with moisture. Eel sauce was not very tasty either. The smell was so bad my boyfriend walked outside before even finishing his meal. I've seen him eat a hotdog while watching PETA videos on commercial farms, I wouldn't exactly describing him as having a weak stomach. Avoid this place at all costs.

I ordered only once and that was the last time, too. I ordered delivery and it came on time. The food wasn't that good, too sweet, and I got food poison .... Terrible diarrhea and fever. I definitely don't recommend this place. You can get better sushi and fried rice at whole foods market with fresh and natural ingredients.

There aren't too many decent Thai restaurants in the area, but this place is very good. The decor is clean with a beautiful fish tank with coral and tropical fish. I had the Pad See Eaw, which was delicious. My parents got a fish and duck dish of which I can't remember the names. However, both were great with a mix of excellent sauces and vegetables. The staff was friendly and the prices were about $12-18 for entrees.

Years ago a friend of mine and I started a weekly luncheon, each week hitting different local restaurants near our respective home/offices. I eat most anything, EXCEPT sushi, but I absolutely love Thai food, and this place has some of the best Thai food I've ever had! Each time we would come for lunch I'd try something different on the menu. The benefit the lunch menu has is the economic prices for high quality food and that each comes with a house salad. Don't miss out trying their house GINGER dressing - I could drink the stuff from a jug - it's that good! My favorite, after trying numerous things, is the green curry with chicken over brown rice. There's always plenty for me to make two meals out of it! I've taken many friends to this restaurant over the years and it is our go-to neighborhood restaurant when I don't feel like cooking! Highly recommended!

Food is delicious, portions are GREAT for the price, $15 bought me miso soup, rice, and chicken teriyaki and I needed a take out box. Service is alright, waitress wasn't too attentive but I got help when I asked. Atmosphere is casual, there is a sushi bar to sit at with TVs in case the game is on as well.

Good food, excellent service, and reasonably priced. We went on a Saturday night around 7pm with a party of 4. We ordered the Sashimi Mori, which has about 24 pieces of Sashimi that includes tuna, fatty tuna, salmon and some other stuff. And we also ordered 3 large sushi rolls: Beauty and The Beast, California Roll and Spider Roll. And we ordered 2 deserts: fried cheesecake and red bean ice cream. Plus we ordered a bottle of cold sake and the bill only came to about $100.00. Even after tips we each paid only about $30.00 each. Thats sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Service is absolutely horrendous every single time. The establishment seems to lack organization. All of the employees seem to be lost and not designated to a particular area. Sushi is usually very good and their curry dishes are also good however when I dined in tonight it didn't seem to be all that fresh. Overall the place is just alright

Sake Thai is one of the few sushi restaurants in Hollywood West of 95, but before you hit Cooper City and see their sushi options (worth driving a bit further? YES). The location benefits from essentially being the backyard of some of the best upper-middle class residential real estate in Broward county. With the plethora of people who don't want to trek further out to downtown Hollywood or Fort Lauderdale, or into the Little São Paulo constant traffic jam that is Aventura, a lot of people end up here. I've dined here many times, but each time I question why I return. Lately I've learned my lesson-- my wife and I now tend to head east or south when the sushi craving hits hard. The glaring issue is that the sushi is simply cut incorrectly here. The fish is cut against the grain, usually it's very coarse with stringy tendons that no other sushi restaurant struggles with. On lunch specials, the meat, chicken/beef/shrimp has the consistency of leather. There's no dish that exceeds expectations, rarely does it meet them here. The warm dishes vary but none will knock your socks off. Service is plenty acceptable, but somehow the prices end up being nearly $3-10 more than similar range restaurants in Aventura, a much more expensive area of south florida. For reasons unknown, the restaurant tends to smell like mildew, getting stronger the further back you sit. Bottom line, there's a dozen sushi restaurants you can visit before this one, and I'd advise it.

Sushi is 5 star quality. I did not try the Thai food I heard that is very average. If rating on here were solely based on their sushi I think this place would be 4.5 stars. The tuna and mango roll $15.99 little pricey but when 6you see how big the rolls are you will understand the higher prices. Plus the quality is really good. I also got another roll $15.99 with Salmon tuna cream cheese avocado and spicy mayo with salmon and tuna on top. Went on a Sunday and the place was packed !

  • Angela P.

I love this place. I'm not a big raw fish person so I mostly just get the Cooked jb roll or the shrimp tempura. I always make modifications to the roll and they get it right every time. The house salad with ginger dressing is good but my favorite is the Thai fries with the peanut dipping sauce, it's so addictive. The only bad thing is that when I get it to go it takes a long time to get my food but that's the only negative thing I have to say.

Sashimi is excellent and the fish has always been fresh for us (been over 30 times in 6 years). Nice quiet relaxing clean atmosphere. Service is decent but emotionally void. Portions and price are on point. Sushi rolls are good as are the hot meals. Overall a good dining experience. Never had a questionable piece of fish from there, and I have a weak stomach.

Visited on a Saturday evening for dinner. We had a birthday ice cream cake with the party. Wait was not too long to be seated. However once we were seated it took about 10mins before anyone greeted us. The waitress that was serving us came to the table said hello and immediately asked what we wanted to order . The food was good here . Thai food would be the preference for this place as their curry is very delicious. Sushi was mediocre nothing extraordinary. Service was decent. I would return to this establishment on a non weekend evening.

Higher priced yet barely average. Service is weak. Food is better at other places. We only went there because it was on the way. I'll know better next time

Beware if you are sensitive to MSG! I found out the hard way (I used to think it was only in Chinese food). I had the Soba noodle soup, which is apparently a hotbed of msg. When I called the next day to inquire, I spoke with a woman named Sara. I was merely getting the facts of why I was flushed and felt ill during the night. She got really rude and said," what will happen to if you eat it, will you DIE?" I personally think it should be more clear that they use it in their food. So if you do choose to eat here... know the facts ~ especially those with food sensitivities. As for me, due to the rudeness of this woman (I suspect it was the owner), I will not set foot in here again, thank you very much. Totally negative experience.

IF you want fresh, excellent sushi with a menu featuring an array of options, you must take the time to enjoy this gem of Hollywood. Been enjoying sushi at this restaurant for years and have never been given anything short of excellence. The Sushi Mori Combo is to die for. The tuna tataki is one of the freshest and flavorful finds compared to most sushi spots. Whether taking a date or going with friends, do yourself a favor and stop by for lunch and dinner

Ummmm... My boyfriend & I found our new sushi spot!! :) I had an irrational craving for sushi & we'd just left the paintball field... This was close. It was new. I was curious. We loved it. You have to try the Tuna Tataki here!! Sooo fresh & pretty damn fancy-looking! The price range, though, was pretty regular ;)

First off, let me say that I am very nervous about the quality of restaurants, especially when I am eating RAW food. This place came as a recommendation from a friend who lives in Hollywood, so we ended up trying it out on a Sunday night. We got there around 7pm and it was pretty packed. This is a good sign when eating out. We were a group of 3 and we waited a little to be seated, but not too long. I ordered a custom roll, which was basically a salmon skin roll, combined with a rainbow roll, a yummy yummy roll, and a some sort of shrimp tempura roll. We also ordered 3 dishes. I had the Shrimp panang curry, and we also ordered chicken pad thai, and a chicken and vegetables dish. First off regarding the rolls. These were large rolls, but they were really ginormous. My fear of quality was somewhat diminished when I saw the rolls, but upon first taste, I knew it was gonna be good. All the rolls were spectacular. The yummy yummy, had huge slabs of tuna and salmon, definitely a fan of that roll. I can go on and on, but either you are a fan or you aren't, and I really enjoyed these rolls. The curry dish that I ordered was really prepared correctly. Sauce was very thick, and they certainly didn't skimp on it. I was loving the fact that I had left-overs for lunch the next day, which tasted just as good (if not better) on day 2. I saw some posts regarding price, and here is what I have to say. We ordered 2 large beers (22oz), 3 large rolls, and 3 dinners, and we were all in right around $100. So, while $33 a person may be a little above average for a meal, I don't consider this over-expensive. You could easily share 1 large roll and 1 entre between 2 people. I would definitely try this place again, and see if the quality and food is consistent. Overall I was really satisfied and would recommend you give it a try.

I've been a lot tougher on restaurants lately, maybe it's because my Thai experiences were lifted by my Chicago food experiences. Sake is actually a great place to go out for dinner. If you go there, you'll see why...its crowded but not noisy, clean, service is good. But the food, well...its OK. We started off wit bacon-wrapped asparagus and to be honest may have been the worst appetizer I had. :( Still the Panang Curry lifted my experience greatly, but the prices still above normal. Maybe I'll try it again at some other point.

I'm sure the sushi is good. I had the chicken penang curry OMG! It was delicious fast service and good for lunch. The sushi boxes are a little pricey for lunch but it looks like they give you more food than usual.

Celebrating 10 yr anniversary in Hollywood FL. Sake Thai and sushi was a highlight of our dining experiences in Hollywood FL. The combo platters are stunning visually and melt like butter in your mouth. We are a little bit snobby when it comes to eating out, so this recommendation is well earned!

We went here on a Friday Night with our Broward friends. The problem, that evening was that three of four members in our party became ill. I would like to think I have a Krytonite Stomach - but I was one of the three. The two items the lucky person did not have were the Tuna Roll and Unfiltered Sake. I had some Edamame Beans, Miso Soup, Chicken & Vegetable Tempura, Vegetable Fried Rice and an Asparagus with Bacon dish. I called the restaurant after our visit and spoke to Sara, the manager. She said that there were no other complaints from diners that night, but was able to describe my exact illness in a question she asked me. She said some people are not use to eating raw fish. She said sorry and offered a credit for the next time we dine (no thanks). I have never had something like this happen to me in a very long time. It's a Strip Mall with plenty of parking.

HUGE letdown. After consulting my trusted Yelp App of where to go for sushi, I was sure I would enjoy my experience here. I mean they offer sushi, Thai and Japanese cuisine, so whats not like to right? Well, whatever it was, something seemed off when I stepped in the place. I don't know if it's trendy decor threw me off since the strip mall it's located looked a little beat or the blank stares of the staff but I didn't get a good feeling about this place. They sat us at a dirty booth and didn't even hand the menus to us, instead they just dropped it off at the head of said dirty table and then left. The booths they have are completely other issue because if you have someone sitting on the other side and they move AT ALL, you will feel it. I felt like there was a kid kicking the booth but turns out it was an adult man (maybe man child) who was just moving around a bit. And now my back hurts, fabulous. Our waitress was aloof and never there guaranteeing a less than stellar tip for her. It was like pulling teeth to get her back to our table but towards the second half of our dinner, she seemed to be more attentive. Especially when we were paying, hmmm. I got the Crazy Roll which has eel as the star inside it and drizzled with the sauce. Add some avocado and salmon skin and you can't go wrong with that. But oh....you can. It didn't taste fresh and the flavor was lacking. I could barely tell there was any eel sauce on it. Maybe because the eel sauce was *under* it, therefore making it soggy and unable to keep it's whole form. Meh.

They serve my favorite tuna tataki. The pad tai is amazing and big enough to share. They have a full bar and nice selection of hot and cold sake. If you should decide to have a spicy dish I suggest you pair it with a Sake Nigori, a sweet unfiltered sake served chilled. The sushi is fresh pairs great with their sake selection.

1st time at this restaurant. So many rules and additional charges if you order a 10pc sushi dinner, which is suppose to be fish, right? Either soup or salad for $20 dinner, not both. 1 person = $34.50 for 10pc + ice cream dessert? Won't be returning

  • Sarah G.

This place is big. They have lots of tables and servers working. I came for lunch it was fairly busy. I ordered the large dancing eel roll and a house salad with ginger dressing. The salad came out right a way. It had the perfect amount of dressing on it. The roll took a bit longer. When it came out it was thing of beauty. Things I did not like about it was the roll itself was pretty greasy, which I haven't experienced before. Also, they served the eel sauce on the side instead of on top, not a big deal. It was good and had perfect fish to rice ratio. I'd come back and try some of their other rolls or even their thai food. It appeared that they had a large selection.

This restaurant offers very tasty Thai food at very reasonable prices. I always have the starting salad with the peanut dressing because I am obsessed with it. I then usually have the chicken pad thai; medium spicy to give it a nice kick. They usually serve the soy beans on the side and even include a few pieces or sliced lime to garnish and flavor the plate. I come here about once to twice monthly for lunch and love it.

I work at the hard rock, and this place is just down the street and has quickly become my favorite lunch spot. I have not had dinner here yet, but the lunch specials are so good and reasonably priced. Panang lunch special is my go to item. For 8 bucks, you will leave satisfied with a high quality, god tasting meal. Sushi boats are good to share with a group and their tuna roll thing in rice paper is very good.

  • Eran A.

Sushi was very good love the tuna had a beautiful dark red color to it. Service was good even though resturant was packet. Pathai not bad but would have prefered a different hot sauce on the side. All and all nice place and will be back. The only downside is its noisy

  • Bryan D.

You can tell the sushi here is top quality! I had the orange roll which is a normal dragon roll topped with salmon. My GF had the cha cha cha roll. We were both very happy! The prices are also one of the best for sushi!

  • Nevik E.

Note: On Yelp I review exclusively sushi bars. This gets my standardize average review: Decent selection and normal fare. Quality of fish is fine. The chef's interaction and detail was fair. If it were a neighborhood joint, alright, but won't travel to it again.

When the boyfriend and I decided to try out a different Thai/Sushi place, I knew we had to check this place out considering the reviews on this restaurant were already from other Yelper's opinions I trust. Despite working in this area last year and passing it a dozen times, I actually never dined here. Truth be told, I definitely missed out because after our dinner here this weekend, I could've been munching on fresh sushi for the whole 3 months I worked in the area (it sucks getting laid off). Since joining a weight program last week I skipped some of my favorite deep fried, mayo, and cream cheese infused rolls and opted for a seaweed salad, the sashimi appetizer, and avocado roll. The sashimi appetizer was served in a huge plastic glass with a mound of ice below to keep the fish cold. Melt in your mouth delicious (and fresh) is the best way to describe the sashimi. The restaurant is nicely decorated but it's pretty obscure since there isn't all that much going on in this part of town. From the outside you really wouldn't know how large this restaurant is, but it's definitely a plus. And don't worry if you feel awkward sitting just two in one of their HUGE booths - I felt as if half a football team could sit at each one. Service was okay. Our waitress was very friendly but a little slower on service, but nothing unreasonable. Although I can only speak of the sashimi, my boyfriend ordered Thai (Pad Thai to be exact) and was hardly impressed for some reason. Though he agreed to coming back and ordering one of his usual Thai dishes.

THIS PLACE IS GREAT!!!! If you want consistenty great food and service, I highly reccomend trying Sake! We eat at Sake probably once a week and everything is always fresh and delicious. If you want a real treat try the Thai fries they rock and the sauce is addictive. The sushi is so fresh it's like they pulled it out of the ocean and the Thai and Japanese delicacies are phenominal. You will not be dissapointed this place is a real gem!!!!!

Sake has great Sushi and Thai food. The service is fast, and friendly. The place is clean, and usually busy. How can you go wrong? Been there numerous times, and each visit has greeted me with a wonderfully satisfying meal. Kudos Sake folks! Great job! This place is a consistent, and solid choice!

The sushi was absolutely amazing!! The restaurant decor is your typical authentic sushi place. I tried Sake with the girls after work on a random Wednesday. We ordered different types of sushi and shared. It was delicious!!! Try the roll that has salmon and cucumber it was great. As a sushi fan, I recommend this place if you are in the area.

Excellent lunch specials. The food is fresh. You need to try the basil chicken extra spicy. It's not for the weak of heart. Excellent service. The owner is friendly. Place us clean. Large dining area. Salads are excellent and try the peanut dressing that us home made.

I've frequented this place a few times already because it's really close to my house. Not only is this place close to my house, but the thai food is pretty good. I've tried to find a good thai place that is comparable to Osha Thai or King of Thai in CA and I'd like to say that this place comes close. I've had the pad thai which is good. The pad see ew is good, but I've had much better. The sushi is ok. The salad is great because they give you enough dressing and then some. The service is also on the good side. THe ambiance is nice and it always seems to be busy. The only thing is that I get seated at the booths along the windows and I don't like that the back rests are shared with the other booths because it gets pushed back and forth. I would recommend to go during lunch because their prices are good for the amount of food that you get, but dinner is a little on the pricier side for the quality of food. Sorry if this review wasn't helpful, I found it hard to find the words to describe my experience.

Living in Hollywood Fl among the gated communities, we have local minimum sushi options. Luckily, we have Sake Thai. They have a great menu of a wide assortment of rolls, delicious Japanese salads, and Thai options if you are not in the sushi mood. Another benefit of this place is that the decor is nice and warm. The servers have always been friendly and I really enjoy this place as eat in or take out. Highly recommended to my local sushi lovers

My favorite sushi place, and it is around the corner from my house. I used to dine in, but now I just order online. I think it is the way they prepare their rice for sushi rolls what separates them. Their rainbow roll is delicious and their Salmon Sashimi is very fresh. Try the Avocado salad too but ask them to slice avocado thinly. I have tried a few sushi places in SFL.

I love this place. A little on the pricy side but you get what you pay for. It's about time they start investing in the place and my kids love the new fish tank. Food is good and service great. Absolutely a must go!!

It was my first time trying food here, I ordered a rainbow roll to go. Once home, I noticed it was way too crunchy and realized they used an avocado that wasn't ripe yet on the entire roll, it was so hard. Also the pieces of salmon/tuna were thin and on one piece they improvised and sloppily stuck imitation crab meat in it. Not going back! I'll stick to Go! Bento, better quality control and bang for your buck.

I frequent this place at least once a week. Ive read a few reviews about the wait staff being busy or not organized but I have never had a problem with them. As soon as I walk in, I am greeted and sat right away. The wait staff is very fast as well. My favorite food here is the panang curry. And i also add sweet potato in it and it is soooo yummy. I always start my meal off with the house salad with the ginger dressing. The salad is always fresh & the ginger dressing is DELISH. Lately ive been on a sushi kick. But my friends tell me its fake sushi. I only eat the california roll. Its always fresh & hits the spot everytime. YUM!! Also the prices here are very reasonable. Dont knock it till you try it!

Asian is not my favorite cuisine, but I cannot write this review based on whether I like Asian food or not. The presentation of the food at this place is beautiful. Every plate is a work of art. The specials are fairly priced, but a lot of the food is very expensive. You could spend anywhere from $8 to $25 per person when you eat here. It truly depends on what you order. The ethnic food is very good, but the salad that comes with a special is pretty low-quality. The ambience is fun and vibrant, and the service is adequate. Sushi and Thai food fans would adore this restaurant.

I have been a customer of this restaurant for the last ten years. I usually order two or three times a month for me and my family. However, I recently placed an order for delivery over the phone and was put on hold for ten minutes and then the phone was hung up. I called back and was put on hold again. I waited another five minutes and got so upset that I jumped in my car and drove to the restaurant with my cell phone on my ear, on hold, listening to all the conversations in the restaurant. I parked my car and went in and gave the phone to the lady behind the front counter and asked her to explain to me how this was possible. All she could say was that they where very busy and that she was sorry. I will never order from them again. All it takes is one very bad experience to loss a customer for life. Customer service is key to any successful business, especially a restaurant. I will just give my business to another restaurant. Don't order from them unless you have nothing better to do then wait on the phone for 20 plus minutes.

Conveniently located near us, we frequently dine at this restaurant. We Love to sit at the Sushi Bar. The Sushi Chefs are consistent with their sushi and make it with pride. Sometimes when the mood strikes us, we sit in the booths and order their Curry dishes which is amazing and of course sushi. We shared this gem with other family members and they too love it! Try their appetizers too! Sometimes service is slow at peak time of evening but its because their great food brings in the people. We like their decor and ambience as well.

Delicious food served fast with large portions and great flavor and presentation. Ambiance is great, as well. The green chicken curry is flavored near perfection and the volcano roll is majority protein and not just a ball of rice. Will frequent again and again.

Initially Sake Thai failed Mike's Asian restaurant rule, there was not even a single Asian customer. I was ready to walk out however seeing an Asian waiter and friendly staff gave me some reassurance and I gave them a chance. Pad Thai is my general barometer for Thai restaurants since it's so easy to mess it up. Sake's Pad Thai was good, although initially salty adding the accompanied lemon wedge and mixing in the bean sprouts mellowed it out. The base was authentic tasting with the rounded notes of palm sugar, however, it was weak on the tamarind as I did not get enough tart. The noodles were slightly chewy but not sticky, soggy, and coagulated like some other establishments. Overall it was properly cooked in a high heat wok as it should be and they did not resort to using soy sauce to artificially color the Pad Thai which Bobby Flay likes to do. Yes I could make better Pad Thai at home more suited to my palate, yes you can find better Pad Thai in SF but we're in SoFla! I would not hesitate to come here again and I urge everyone to give it a chance. One thing I would commend them on is the shrimp. They were so succulent, pink but not opaque, and they had the signature crunch of my incisors breaking through the external membrane before gently gliding through the oh so tender meat (puri puri) as the flavors exploded through my mouth. Am I the only one offended by overcooked shrimp/scallops? The only gripe I have about this place is that they don't serve pineapple fried rice.

My favorite place for sushi. I live in Pembroke Pines and have many Thai and Sushi restaurants to choose from but I would rather drive the extra 20 minutes to go to Sake. Food is consistently good. I admit to ordering the same things over and over since I like them so much - Kiss Roll being one but my daughter is has ordered a variety of items, all being very good. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I am a sushi novice but we decided to try the Alaskan hand roll which was ok. I also ordered the spicy tuna handroll, not realizing it was raw fish. I actually tasted it and the flavor was pretty good but I just have a mental block for eating raw fish. My problem though is actually in reference to the service. When you see I haven't eaten but a bite of something, I expect the waitress to ask me if everything is okay, offer an alternative or something. None of that occurred. At the end of the meal when the bus person cleared the table, SHE asked and I advised I didn't know it was raw, all she said was "yeah, tuna is not good if it's not raw." Each person can be the judge of whether that's the service they are used to and satisfied with. I didn't complain and ate the cost since it was my bad choice and not their fault but I'm surprised no one OFFERED to make me a happy customer. :-( As far as the entrees, my hubby had the salmon teriyaki. The flavor was very good but unfortunately it was only on the outside of a thick piece of salmon. There was no flavor throughout. As for me, I had the special pad thai. It was really tasty but something about the beef tasted "off" to me, although the chicken and shrimp both accompanied the pad thai well. Overall, I wouldn't say I'll never be back but I'll give other restaurants a chance before heading back out here.

After reading some of the other reviews I was skeptical about ordering sushi so decided beforehand to get Thai. Only once I got there I was in the mood for sushi. I decided to go for it and I'm glad I did. I LOVED the sushi I got, the Tanzana Roll and the Roc On Roll, my friend ordered a JB roll and ate most of mine. I ordered a glass of the house Chardonnay and it wasn't bad at all, and for $4 that makes me happy. Also, they didn't charge extra for a side of eel sauce. Another dose of happiness. I'm so glad I read the other reviews before I went because the deep fried cheesecake was AMAZING! Some women came up to my table to ask what it was, I could see the envious stares from around the room. Don't skip out on this dessert! The one bad thing I can think about this place is that the booths were awful to sit at. There was a little kid sitting behind me and of course was bored and had to bang against the booth. It's uncomfortable to feel people getting up and down from the table behind you constantly. So when you go, get a table. I am so happy I tried this place because I've been looking for good sushi in the area that isn't ridiculously expensive or ultra trendy. They also have take out, I'm definitely going to take advantage of that one night on my way home.

My co-worker and I placed a delivery order from here last week. It was my first time and I stuck with a simple JB Roll and Pork Fried Rice. My co worker had the pad thai noodles with chicken and a salad with peanut dressing. WOW. We were really pleased with how fast they delivered and how wonderful everything was. My other employees were walking by the lunch room, drooling over how good the food smelled...they were so tempted, they placed an order themselves! You know that means something!

This is my favorite sushi place in Ft. Lauderdale. The quality of the sushi is very good. The prices are a little high but reasonable considering their rolls are huge and their portions on other items are usually very generous. I usually order the Yummy Roll which is absolutely delicious. We've also tried the Chicken Skewers with the peanut sauce (Satay) and I have to say that I would return just for that. I lived in San Diego for a few years and sushi places are on every conrner and the competition is fierce. You can usually find great inexpensive sushi. I know this is not Cali but I think since I've moved back this is the best sushi I've had since I left Cali. We will be back for more. :)

My husband and I are in town because we sail tomorrow on our cruise vacation. I wanted Thai food and did a local search on my phone. We thought the food was really good. The staff was polite, attentive and efficient; the food was plentiful and the presentation was especially nice. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

I am a big fan of Thai food, but I am also very picky. I ordered the pad-thai combination with shrimp, chicken, and beef as well as panang curry. Portions were definitely enough for three people. But I didn't like the curry as much because I couldn't order it the way I wanted to (thai spicy) since my friend couldn't eat spicy food. I like the pad thai but I would definitely pick fried tofu next time I go. The chicken was overcooked. I ordered the flower blossom plum sake and that was amazing good!

This place is great! After spending the last 8 years in Los Angeles, I've grown very skeptical of places that try to do more than one type of food. Sake does Thai and Japanese very well. I've ordered from both menus, sometimes during the same meal, and have never been disappointed. They have tasty sushi and fun rolls and they have great Thai dishes. The service is usually very good -- always quick to check in on your and refill your drink and see if you need anything else. As Thai/Japanese places pop up all over South Florida, I'd definitely recommend keeping this one in mind!

Sake Thai is a pretty darn good restaurant. More on the authentic side than most restaurants of this category. I'm impressed because Hollywood, FL isn't trendy Miami Beach, so to have such a great thai and sushi restaurant in the area is a treat!

We like going there for sushi. It's always fresh and the prices are good. I tried the green curry but to be honest it wasn't good I can't say I'll try it again there (still searching for good green curry dish) their Pad Thai was also terrible full of oil and no vegetables but carrots eggs sprouts and tofu. Give me a break. But for just sushi I'd say they are the best in the area - much better than Tatu and for half the price.

Ralphie and I walked in and the hostess seemed busy... but we were so focused at the decor and displays of the place.. We also saw an empty booth nearby and just sat there. No one said anything.. heh. It was not a busy day, probably 10 full tables out of the 30-40 ones??? Our appetizer included the Chicken Satay.. chicken on the sticks with the peanut sauce. They were four big pieces. It tasted good. Red curry chicken thai.. It was a big dish.. enough to eat it for the next two days! Also ordered their regular salad with ginger dressing. I should have not ordered the salad, because my stomach hurt from being so full. Ralphie wasn't impressed with his dish because it wasn't spicy enough. He thought mine was very spicy for a mild level, though. One of our two waitresses was nice enough to put it in the box for me.. right in front of us. Didn't get to try their sushi or dessert... I want to come back here again.. :)

HUGE menu! They even have "Age" (ahhgee) that is superb! We went with some friends from out of town. We ordered a whole bunch of appetizers so we could sample everything and no e of us were disappointed. Everything was good. Service was good as well. My only complaint is that they do NOT have gluten free soy sauce, so if you're going, bring your own! Regardless, I hope to go back there soon, really yummy and SAFE items for me to eat! :-) very happy we found this place.

Okay. Sushi is hard to rate because everybody thinks great means something specific. Traditional, eclectic, fusion, whatever. I eat here more than anyplace else. Before the opened, I would drive to Heart Rock on Sunrise and Federal in Ft Lauderdale. The menu is a combination Sushi/Thai. I have never had anything that wasn't great at this place. the service is fantastic, my kids love it here, and the prices are below average for the quality of the food. Try the Tuna Tower or the Avocado Salad. Out of this world.

This place is pretty damn good and I have eaten sushi in various cities , service was quick prompt and polite, prices are ok, and ambience is typical , but food is very good.

This restaurant is awsome! I am from New York originally, and I know good sushi when I see it. This place has a GIANT menu, and anything I have ever had here has been super fresh. The portions are big, not alot of rice on the sushi, big fish portions in the rolls, and ALOT of low carb options like rolls made with cucamber or just seaweed. The website is the best I've ever seen for a restaurant, because you can order anything you want for pick up online, you never have to call the restaurant. The entire menu is ONLINE with PHOTOS of every single dish they have. OUTSTANDING! Rock On Sake!! I am a fan forever! Thanks for being so great!

A-OK rating for the Thai food only. In all honesty, it's not a place that inspires confidence in the quality of the sushi. The restaurant has no atmosphere, so it's not a good place for a date or an intimate dinner; but the service is friendly. The prices are fair and I have every intention of ordering delivery from them on a regular basis. The food is not outstanding, but it's tasty. A great alternative for those times when I don't want to drive to Fort Lauderdale for Thai. The restaurant sits next to a cigar store (bar?) and there is a slight stale cigar smoke smell in the air.

I absolutely loved their food. I ordered the medium boat of sushi and it was all so delicious, fresh, and just adorable looking. The only reason why i didn't give it 5 stars was because their wait staff is lacking some organization. The prices were very good, bu the restaurant can use a little make over towards the back area by the bathrooms. Also... I think someone needs to tell the owners or whoever the cashier person is that this is no place for a 4-6 month baby to be falling asleep in and her just leaving the baby there waddling their head from left to right and waking up after each and every sound they heard. That poor baby was so tired.

Working in Hollywood limits your culinary lunch options, but a few notable joints do exist. Sake Thai & Sushi Bar is certainly one of them and offers consistent, fresh sushi and traditional Thai and Japanese dishes. Dragon rolls are a standout and sushi chefs do fire up some interesting daily specials which are listed on a blackboard at the entrance. On the Thai side, Massaman curry and Pad Thai are solid choices. It's a great local spot and seems to have filled a void in the neighborhood. They also deliver, which is a nice option for businesses and homes in the area. Solid lunch option and a place we frequent often.
