Like an oasis in the desert, this Thai spot has quenched my thirst. The best decor? Well, I wouldn't hire their interior decorator The best service? Well, it wasn't the worst The best food? Pretty damn close! If you live somewhere where good Thai is unattainable, cough cough Tallahassee cough cough, this place is bomb. If you live in Thailand, save your gas money.

I have been here a few times with my little sister. The service is great here! They offer inside seating and outside seating. It's a very small place located in Young circle. the food is great! I highly recommend the curry chicken here. They make it In a creamy coconut sauce. They also offer great lunch deals. The servers are always pleasant and sweet. Totally recommend this place!! Just the ambiance alone is great!!

I was working in Hollywood ages ago when this little gem opened and I was happy to see it still serving up some delicious Thai & sushi on trendy Hollywood Blvd. The ambiance is unique and borders on the kitschy as you dine behind shell curtains and a Thai themed dining area awash in red lighting. They also have a really great outdoor area so you can people watch on the blvd. The service is always excellent and though I usually am a huge fan of Red curry, tonite I opted to try their sushi. I had the Dragon Roll and added some cream cheese (cuz I'm a fat boy!) and I have to say it was hands down "THE" best Dragon roll I have had in ages. Located next to the historic Ramada this place is definitely worth checking out for a cozy dinner with friends, someone special or even a quick bite to eat for lunch. I will definitely be back for more sushi and spicy hot Thai curry! OmNomNom

This is the only place we come to get sushi . It's the best & great rolls for beginners too. We drive all the way from Fort Laud beach because of great staff & great food!!!

I like beginning a vacation with a sushi meal, so I Yelped the closest decent Japanese restaurant to FLL and this was it. Had a solid lunch bento with nigiri, sashimi, and tempura (always a good combo) for ~$13, and was rather satisfied for the next few hours.

Great food. Short wait for seating. Best salad with ginger sauce. Great chicken wings. Thai food was great. Decor is fair. Music was in repeat. The waitress was attentive and helpful.

I dunno about this service. First no table outside, then sit sit sit here and then I found an outside table. It's claustrophobic inside and I like the passing throng on the Boulevard.I'm sad to say that I found all of the food either bland or rather too small portion wize. They had no WiFi and it's next door to the loudest barmess in town which makes it distracting to watch folks stroll by...they walk nervously with wild eyed stares. No Splenda, again and the smallest napkins ever and thin as well. It did not match the photos in Yelp. I'll go again on the suggestion of another Yelper. It may very well have been an off night.

This place is a little hard to see because of its location but once you are there you can have a really good dinner and enjoy yourself a nice Thai experience in a modern ambience. A little dark for my taste to have lunch, even by the windows but the decoration is nice and it is cozy and welcoming. Tried the pad Thai which was really good and the sushi rolls were ok. The service a bit slow but overall it is a good place to have lunch or dinner if you are around the area.

If you're going to serve sushi AND thai... You have to do both right. You can't just make good thai and go less than half ass on the sushi. I only came here for the sushi and it was terrible. By far the worst sushi I've had in a long time. Cheap sushi buffets have better sushi than this place! I don't go to this/that restaurants for this reason... If their serving 2 different types of food ... Pizza/sushi... It's probably not the best of either. We decided to give this place a try - despite my preconceived notions. They proved my theory right, once again. The hotate nigiri was all chopped up with mayo and masago mixed in like a spicy scallop handroll (hated). At least I know to cross this place off any sushi crave I might have 3 times a week. Even the sake (salmon) & maguru (tuna) tasted bland. I paid $50 for 15 pieces of CRAP sushi. Never coming here again.

Now you're hungry on Hollywood Blvd, but you're not feeling latin or Mediterranean food so why not get Thai? The appetizers were good, not the best as I've had better but I got the satay. Tasted as if it was frozen prior. However my chicken 'kapow' basil dish came out. Smelled excellent! Now this was probably the best tasting 'kapow' I've had in a very long time. It was so tasty and was fresh no doubt about that. Service was prompt and quick. To my surprise I was completely satisfied. Minus one for the appetizers. I will be back especially since it's one block away from my Cigar spot.

The food was amazing! First time we have been able to eat here. Pad Thai was so tasty and the sushi that I ordered was very good! Everyone seemed nice. A couple times I thought some of the waitresses were a little ride but they quickly warmed up. Very happy with this place.

Very nice atmosphere. Very lovely waitress. My son and I ate here a few nights ago. I usually never order cooked rolls but I am preg and I realllyyy wanted sushi. I ordered the JB crunchy roll, which was cooked salmon and cream cheese roll wrapped with seaweed and then fried. Uuhhh delicious! My son who is 4 devoured half my roll after he gobbled up his won ton soup.. I had to order another. I tasted his soup and it had great flavor mixed with fresh crunchy bean spouts. The won tons were perfectly meat to pasta proportioned. They fit correctly in your mouth. Ya know some places have those huge awkward won tons with glops of meat inside..not this place...very good. I cant wait to come back! I am hungry yelping about it now....:)

Another wonderful evening at Red Thai & Sushi! While I will agree with some previous posters that it is not the best place to head if you're in a hurry, it is an ideal spot for a date night dinner or a quiet dinner with a few friends. There is indoor seating as well as 4-6 tables outside. The restaurant may be small, but the portions are anything but. If you get a rice or noodle dish, prepare to share (or pack it up for lunch the next day!) Their Thai iced tea is great, not too sweet and not powdery. I love the Pascale roll...I always say I'm going to try something new and I end up with this one also! I can't say I've tried something and not liked it here. I've also called in takeout orders here and haven't had any issues with the orders or picking up- the only negative really is parking. It is much better than it used to be, but leave yourself a few minutes to find a space if you're meeting friends or picking up a take out order. Overall one of my favorites for Thai or Sushi in Hollywood!

This place was such a cute place to get dinner. Waking inside just felt like I was being transported to Thailand. The decorations are lovely and really set the mood. I sat at the bar and talked with the sushi chef and he took my order and prepared my roll before the server even asked me for my order. He was great and even stopped and restarted my roll for me when I asked if he could do it with brown rice instead. The service here is kind of slow, that's the only pitfall for me, but besides that everyone is really nice and the sushi is absolutely delicious.

First five star review since we moved to South Florida because they have the most delicious tasting Vietnamese rolls, and such flavorful curries. Large portion sizes for what you pay for. They even gave us some Thai donuts complimentary. Taste great and lots of different options.

I love, love, love the food at this place! I have been looking for yummy Thai food for a while.. until I accidently stopped by this place one day. Great location, nice patio, affordable prices and big portions that can be shared. I like the fact that they have everything from Thai and Chinese to Japanese and sushi. We ordered Miso soup (that was so delicious!) and Curry dish. Yummy! And the wait was not long at all, about 10 min tops. The girls working there are from Thailand. Very nice and friendly! Will definitely go back soon! Thank you Red Thai & Sushi! You rock!

I live nearby and this is always my first choice for sushi. Fish is always on point; i have NEVER experienced any strong fish or issues in the last 3 years. Rolls are tight and firm, some special chef rolls are very big; so make sure you order a few at a time. My favor roll is the tuna jalapeño roll ;)

Red Thai & Sushi, located in downtown Hollywood, is known for serving up authentic Thai and Japanese grub worth the visit. Sushi, Thai, Japanese, outdoor seating...what more could you ask for? Say no more to get me into a restaurant! One of the reasons this joint deserves a whopping 5 stars is because their servers are over attentive. They go above and beyond to insure that you are taken care of and that you are enjoying your food and experience. Ah, but a restaurant cannot receive 5 stars on service alone! Get in here for the food! To highlight a few... I may have to go on record and say that Red Thai & Sushi's spring rolls may have been some of the crunchiest freshest yummiest spring rolls I've ever put in my mouth. With each bite, I could hear the crispness of the sprouts, lettuce, and carrots. Whether you fancy Tom Yum or Tom Kha soup, you won't go wrong here. Both are bursting with flavor. The Tom Yum is a perfectly spiced broth, and the Tom Kha is smooth coconut broth with a touch of lime. The Spice Roll was a delicious combination of spicy AND sweet! The roll comes with spicy tuna and salmon, avocado, cucumber, scallions, and tempura flakes. It is then topped off with mango, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. The Dynamite Temaki, which is a hand roll, was filled to the brim with mixed seafood and baked with masago and mayo. The baked flavors that ooze from the roll melt away on your palate. Talk about a mouth-full of scrumptiousness! We enjoyed ALL the sake, appetizers, fresh sashimi, temaki, rolls, and Thai entrees we scoffed down here on many occasions. We enjoy it so much, that when we are in Hollywood, Florida for work, Red Thai & Sushi is the one restaurant we visit the most. So stroll on down Hollywood Boulevard, and get your grub on! You won't be disappointed. *You can check their website for coupons before going in. For example, at the moment, if you "like" them on Facebook, you'll receive $5 off.

BEST THAI AND SUSHI RESTAURANT IN FORT LAUDERDALE / HOLLYWOOD. Fast service, authentic food, friendly service. I've been to many Thai restaurants in this area and this is by far the most authentic one. Definitely recommend!

This is a combination Sushi / Thai place. The sushi was terrible. It had no flavor as it was frozen. The Thai food was pretty good though. If your going to eat her, forego the sushi and stick to the Thai. Also they were a little unorganized in that we were asked probably 6 times by 6 different waitress's if we were ready to order. All in all, I would return here for the Thai food only.

With all the horrible restaurants located on this strip in Hollywood red thai is like a waterfall in a drought. It is consistently incredibly and I am a regular of this establishment. Consistently amazing food, great service. Everything here is on point. If you live in Hollywood or the surrounding areas it is absolutely worth the visit. Best thai restaurant I have found in south Florida! Some of my favorite dishes include their red Thai curry, Gyoza, and the sushi is incredible!!

Came here last Sunday. Some friends were visiting from out of town, so we wanted a leisurely dinner out. The waitress was very prompt and attentive. She got that we wanted a slower paced meal and she adapted well to it. We started with the combo appetizer and we enjoyed it. I got the ped Gang red curry with chicken. I'm not a big fan of coconut milk, which is included in this dish, as most places overdo it. However, this place did a good job balancing the flavors. My wife got the drunken noodles, which were delicious. Our friends got seafood dishes which they loved. At the end of the meal the waitress brought us some complimentary Thai donuts which were great. All of the prices were reasonable. The ambiance is nice. They have incense going, but it didn't bother us, but it might some people. Great food and service. I highly recommend this place.

A 'Vegetarian Lover' menu... a full page full of classic dishes made vegan! They made me a killer vegan Pad Se Ew, which is my favorite Thai dish. Loved it! Very friendly and helpful service as well. Awesome place!

We found this place on Hollywood Blvd strip of shops and restaurants. Read some positive Yelp reviews and gave this a try. It was very good. The menu is huge! We stuck to the Thai food and didn't try the sushi. We did see sushi dishes going out of the kitchen and they looked good We tried several Thai curry dishes and they were all good. Served hot, fresh and good portions that didn't break the bank. The setting is eclectic but nice and personable. The wait staff was good, attentive and didn't rush us. Very good overall!

This used to be my favorite place because the food is great, but their service lately has been god-awful!! This really ruins the overall experience. Working in the area I only get an hour for lunch and our table ordered 5 mins after we got there. 45 mins later I still did not get my order, and only after going to check on it did I find out that the waitress forgot to put it in! She apologized lazily and packed it up for me to go, still charging full price for it. I'd be willing to forgive a one off mistake but they really have been consistently slow lately, have made more mistakes than can be considered normal and have been unwilling to make amends when they do. Makes me sad because like I said I love the food, but they really need new wait staff!!

Overall 2.5 STARS. So I have not been here in a good while, probably about 5 months. On returning I was suprised with the new interior design of the restaurant. The interior finish has a stronger than before Thai decor decorated with new statues, masks, wall ornaments, wall carpets, paintings and a deeper more pronounced red interior. The kitchen and Sushi bar are open, and there is a small counter surrounding the sushi bar where you can eat and drink. There is always low volume classical Thai music playing in the background. They have one flat screen TV that is usually playing sports. The TV is positioned anyone can see it anywhere in the restaurant no matter where you dine. Being the restaurant is rather petite, the tables are well spaced, you do not feel crowded while dining. I had to actually leave and come back because there were no open tables. But I returned in about 30 minutes, just in time to get one of two indoor available tables. I decided to try something new this time so I ordered Thai seafood with curry powder $16.95 bit.ly/YR6ZKs and spring rolls $3.95 bit.ly/YR7c01 . The pictures are dark so you have to bear with me. The dude taking my order did not ask me if I wanted my food mild medium or hot, which is customary at this restaurant. I had to track him down after I realized he did not ask me, and tell him I wanted my order done medium. I was sure they had already started my food and it was to late. Note: all of the servers look like teenagers, but friendly. The spring rolls stuffed with carrots, cabbage and jelly noodles, were kind of diminutive in size, they used make them at least twice the size as they are now. They appeared identical to the frozen ones you can buy in the local Asian store. They were somewhat tasty when you dipped them into the sweet pineapple dipping sauce, but lacking in depth of taste because of size. The Thai Seafood was well presented with the customary purple white flower and stringed carrots. The dish was actually overflowing with scallops, imitation crab, mussels, squid, and shrimp. The seafood had an overbearing curry flavor, and the seasoning was somewhat off. When the menu said "with curry powder" I did not expect to actually be presented with "powdered" seafood. Not only did the seafood have an annoying grainy texture because of the curry powder, it was way to peppery. A testament to the waiter not asking me if I wanted my food hot medium or mild. Also the portion of white rice that came with the entree was very conservative. Oddly I was not offered any water, maybe they did not think I wanted any since I had a Singha beer "shrugging shoulders". I have always been offered water the previous times I had come here, or at any restaurant to that matter. I also was not not checked on once about my eating experience, the server was missing in action. The service has definitely gone down, the ambiance has gone up, the food I ordered I did not enjoy. Interior and Ambiance - 4 stars Service - 2 stars Food - 2.5 stars

This was a great experience. Driving from Coconut Creek to Hollywood to eat their food was worth a drive. The duck noodle soup was sooooo delicious. My son got dragon roll and that was great. Overall: the food was delicious/ the service was superb/the atmosphere was delighted.

Okay, the food is pretty good, but the service is downright terrible. We always wind up at the same super cramped table, the waitresses get confused about splitting checks so we have to do it for them, they aren't very friendly, and they sometimes close the kitchen earlier than they state on their hours. A waitress argued with me the last time we attempted to eat there... "Uh, we're closed!" as we sat outside. "But it says you close at 11... It's 10:30. "No, we are closed now, only takeout orders" as she slammed the door to go inside. Yikes. I guess they don't want to make money? I mean, if you close at 10:30 then change the time you advertise on your doors.

Large portions, great location, delicious food, and friendly staff. Came here for lunch today with my mom for the first time and I was surprised to see that most items on their lunch menu were only $7.50! I ordered the chicken pad Thai and my mom the steamed tofu red curry. Both plates were generous, fresh, and delicious. They also came with a spring roll on the side. Overall I was very pleased with everything about this restaurant. Totally coming back soon!

Excellent! We had sushi, and it was fresh and tasteful. Very popular with the locals, often very busy. We had lunch, and it was perfect. You can sit outside in the front in the quaint old town part of Hollywood. Well worth traveling to from other communities, as we did.

This small cozy establishment sets the standard for Pan Asian cuisine in Hollywood. The Menu is ENORMOUS featuring Thai, Chinese, Japanese and Sushi dishes to choose from. The prices are reasonable, and the service is great! It's so refreshing to have a great experience for half the price. Esp when most of the neighboring restaurants offer more DRINKS than food on Hollywood Blvd. I eat at this wonderful place once a week. It's money well spent!

Always a sure spot to go to get your sushi fix in. Every roll comes out fresh and on point. Not to mention their won ton soup is absolutely out of this world. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. Definitely recommend Red Thai and Sushi if you're in the Hollywood blvd area.

Walked up and down the avenue checking out the menus, and on a Wednesday night, Red Thai won our tummies! Diners were seated both al fresco and adentro, and we got a window seat and ordered up. The incense burned away, a bit surprising in a dining establishment but added to the Thai ambiance nonetheless. The tuna avocado appetizer was tasty- small chunks of marinated tuna and avocado ... a thai iced tea that was an sweet herbal treat, and our side salads were a fresh start. The ginger dressing was very fresh and delicious, and the peanut dressing was also delicious. The timing was right when our main courses arrived: masaman curried chicken and sweet and sour shrimp. The masaman was very good - a great blend of herbs, cashews, chicken, and potato with slivers of avocado atop. The sweet and sour shrimp had a nice assortment of veggies, and the sweet sauce was good. Service was pleasant, and I took the leftovers but was surprised to see that they didn't include a fresh side of white rice (as some places do) - just packed up what I had left over. Overall a good choice if you're in the area. Thank you Red Thai!

I was so glad to find this authentic and clean Thai restaurant while exploring downtown Hollywood. I ordered a ginger stir fry dish, it was amazing. Like other reviewers said, the service is friendly but a little slow. We'll be back for sure though. Free parking in the downtown strip.

BADD!!!! Wish I could go back in time and opt to try a different place. We got 15 pieces of sushi for 50 bucks. And it was absolutely distasteful to put it nicely. Was not fresh at all. Save your time and money and try a different place at least for sushi, deno how their Thai food is but I'm not curious enough to try anything else from this place.

Ate here the other evening with a party of four. They have some descent beers and wines to choose from on the menu. At our table we had the California roll which is hard to mess up and a fried California roll which the girls really enjoyed. We also had a shrimp tempura roll that was really tasty. Good pork fried dumplings. Service was also pleasant. Not a bad choice

Mediocre Thai food. I love all things Panang, this was very lackluster. The wait staff was not very attentive although the guy behind the sushi bar was very good. He could tell we had been waiting a long time and brought us a couple items for the hassle. And he made a very good tuna jalapeño roll. All in all, if you're going for Thai in the area, make the trip to Las Olas and go to Asia Bay. But if you're on the street, I am sure you could worse.

I read great reviews on yelp about this place and wanted to try it for a while. The restaurant was very very small on the inside, but does have a nice outdoor dining area in the front. The service was friendly, but the wait for food was a little long. The food was above average, but I guess I expected more due to the reviews. The sushi was ok. I ordered scallops and was told the dish features d large-sized scallops, only to find out when served that the scallops were the teeny-tiny ones and were very fishy tasting...so that was disappointing. Tiny thai house is still the best thai food I have had. I hope to find a great thai place now that I am living in Browned county, but I haven't found one yet!

My wife and friends just brought back Pad Thai, curry and Sushi. The sushi was absolutely disgusting and was thrown out. Dynamite roll was soggy and fake... Tempura roll was worse. They also cut the pieces into tiny 1/4" slivers and 1 1" piece. Curry had no flavour at all. Pad Thai was on but that is such a simple dish. Save your money and stay away.

My hubby and I love this place for Lunch. Food is always great and I think I have tried everything on the Thai menu. Can't vouch for the sushi, but the Thai is really good. I love the Panang, the peanut sauce and also the Pad thai. And the donuts are the perfect end. The place is casual, the owner is friendly. The staff changes a lot what makes service inconsistent. But for us has always been good!

This is my favorite little spot in downtown Hollywood. It is small but has a cozy feel to it. The food is always fresh & and the staff are very attentive. The Thai Ice Tea is a must - the best that I have ever had & they serve large portions that wont break the bank. I had the Chicken Pad Thai and I highly recommend it. They put a good amount of chicken in it, and just the right amount of spices - not too hot but enough to give you a little kick.

If you love sushi or a delicious pad thai or Panang Curry meal. I highly recommend this place for anything from a dinner date, lunch with friends or grabbing something to take home on the go. The Sushi Mori Combo is a must have for the REAL sushi fan

Visited Red after walking down the street - trying to find a place that would fit our three requirements. Sushi and Thai (obviously)... not eating anything uncooked at the moment *wink, wink* so I got the Tom Yum soup with chicken. You can describe your heat, either 1 to 5... the girl said 5 was very hot so I went for 2.5. Even that was still a bit hot for me! The soup was so good, quartered button mushrooms, pounded chicken and a great mixture of spices. It was really good - except the spice was too hot for me so I could only finish half of it. For salad I got the Yum Woon Sen, glass noodles, lime, onion, chicken, one shrimp (lol), tomatoes and red peppers. Again very good but my 2.5 heat level was still too spicy for me lol. Next time I'll go for one. Got husband the chicken pad thai and how nice of the place, she asked if I wanted egg or not. Since he has an aversion to egg it was left off. I've never heard of a thai place doing that! Bonus points for them. Husband said he really liked the Pad Thai. Eating outside was great, prices reasonable and good thai. I will remember this place!

Red Thai has a very reasonable lunch menu. I enjoy the Pad Thai, Peanut Chicken and the Spring Rolls. Outdoor seating is sheltered from the hot Florida sun and is great for Downtown Hollywood people watching. I highly recommend Red Thai & Sushi.

The food is terrible. Chicken broccoli taste like salt and chewy ass chicken if it is in fact chicken. Tried it twice and both times were so disappointing. Rice is decent

i went here for the lunch special recently, and I must say that I had the best chicken pad thai I've ever had. I cant speak for the rest of the dishes, since it was my first time here. The decor was very "Thai", but the pop/ easy listening music kind of threw it off. It would have been better if they played traditional Thai music seeing that the decor was all ''thai-ed out'', but thats just me being picky. I had the chicken pad thai lunch special which was pretty big, and with came with a spring roll for 7.50!

Went here for lunch and now that I think about it, I've been here once before about 6 months ago. I don't recall having been impressed then but don't recall it being terrible. My boss and I ordered edamame and three sushi rolls. The edamame was freezer burnt; for anyone who's never had freezer burned edamame, good for you! To be clear, it's not good and ruins the flavor. As for the sushi, the Rainbow roll was overly fishy tasting; I just hope the fish was not bad or old. Generally speaking, despite being topped with fish a rainbow roll should not be overly fishy tasting. The other two rolls we ordered were so bland. While I don't know the area well, if you need a sushi fix, try elsewhere as this won't do it for you.

I realize I got this place confused with another sushi/thai place on Harrison street. I never really reviewed Red Thai. It is way better than the earlier reviews indicate - in my humble sushi lover who goes to Hollywood fairl often - opinion. I certainly didn't experience any of the bad /slow service. What I did experience was consistently fresh sushi, in large portions and lots of nice little touches like the sweet dough balls and sweet dipping sauce they give you for dessert, and the free refills of non alcoholic bevs. My party even got a little bag of chocolates - but maybe because we were a gang of 9 eating lots of sushi at Christmas time. But even when I was one of a party of just two, we enjoyed fresh fat cuts, creative rolls and attentive service. Not fast, but good sushi takes time to prepare. Even the typically boring "samplers" are full of good stuff here. The sashimi appetizer sampler is perfect. Try it! Did not have any Thai here (that was the other place.) Sorry. So- corrections, apologies and all of that. I def. recommend this place- not the other place that I reviewed below. Didn't follow that? Forget it- just come to Red Thai.

This is the only place around Young Circle that makes Kanisu, a must-have whenever I go out for sushi. They also do the common rolls and Thai plates. On the stranger side, they do have frog legs on the menu. I like them even though most people might go ewww. You can sit inside, outside or at the sushi bar. It's a little small, so if it's a really busy night you may have to wait a bit.

Decor is minimal and the service can be slow, but Red really makes one of the best pad thais that I have had, EVER! Passed by this spot quite a few times before I finally tried it. Went with family and shared two pad thais, the pineapple fried rice, and a massaman curry. While I've definitely had much better curries, the pineapple fried rice was filled with stuff and was so delicious. As for the pad thai...wow!!! Seriously I can't say the atmosphere is so amazing, but if you are looking for pad thai then this is definitely the spot. They also offered us a complimentary thai donuts, which was a very nice ending to the meal. If you'd like to sit and people watch, then the best way to go is to sit on the patio. Looking forward to going back the next time a pad thai craving hits!

The food was only OK, considering the prices. I asked to have potatoes added to my veggie curry and they charged $2 to add what seemed like half a potato. I also accidentally left my sunglasses behind. When I stopped by to retrieve them, I found they did not have a lost and found and were not especially helpful about it.

Great small date night place! Prices are great and food is better. I always order chicken pad thai spicy # 2 .

This place is average. Average service, average food. The area is what makes up for it. Would I go back? More than likely not.

Had lunch here today. Chicken pad thai lunch special. $7.50 with a spring roll. Good deal, generous size. Chicken was a little dry but the flavor on the dish was great. Will probably go back!

Loved the food here! I go to many sushi places and just find the same old things, but this one had some very unique and flavorful rolls here! I honestly can't wait to come back. The decor is nice too, only thing is it's a tiny bit crampt but that's ok.

I read a lot of great reviews about this place. Well it's OK, not bad not good. Distant service, medium serving sizes, not too clean but not too dirty, no music but not noisy. Might try it again.. or not

I'm sorry to say this place appears to have slipped a little since I first reviewed it. I stopped here with 3 others for dinner recently and though the service was fast and friendly, I had to ask twice for a glass of water with my meal, and we had to ask for the check a few times before the waitress brought it to us. Also, as soon as the tuna sushi I'd ordered was brought to the table, I could smell a strong "fishy" smell. When tuna is fresh, it isn't supposed to smell or taste fishy like this. I had a few pieces of the tuna roll and couldn't finish it, the taste was that strong. When I went inside to use the restroom, I noticed the restaurant smelled a little like mothballs. I then entered the restroom and saw that there were mothballs in the urinal and on the floor behind the toilet. I guess these were somehow supposed to freshen the air, but seriously, inhaling mothball fumes is a health concern. All that being said, aside from the tuna rolls, the rest of the food was good and everyone seemed satisfied with their meals. This place also gave us a complimentary order of warm Thai donuts and dipping cream when we were finished with our food, which was really tasty and was a kind gesture on their part.

We tried to dine inside, but due to a strong, funky odor opted to dine outside (no one else was inside at 730pm, btw). It was a rather pleasant atmosphere outside. The waitresses were very attentive, and not overbearing (asking if you needed anything else every 5 min). Soup my wife ordered the fish soup and loved it. California roll - rice was not up to par. Cashew w/ beef - vegetable portions and rice was good; beef was one of the worst I've ever had in a restaurant. It was dried up and extremely thinly sliced. Gave it a three bc of the decent atmosphere, good service, and the good fish soup.

Order: Thai Iced Tea & Chicken Panang Curry The Food: The Thai Tea turned out great, which can easily be a hit-or-miss with Thai restaurants. The Chicken Panang was okay. If you are into spicy foods, the 4 on the 1-to-5 scale is misleadingly weak. The meat was a bit dry and the amount of bell pepper vs other vegetables was very low. The portion size of the Panang dish compared to how much rice I was given was uneven. I waited a while before a server asked if I wanted more rice. By the time I got the second bowl my food was cold. When I received my check, they had charged me $2 for the additional bowl of rice. The Establishment: Clean appearance, great ambience. Thai music which is a huge plus in my book. Overall: I would go back, but would not order a dish that required white rice, or I would ensure prior to receiving the meal that I would be provided with a sufficient amount of rice and not charged extra.

Run the other way. Chicken was worst than dry pork. Do not eat here. Overpriced and not fresh. Ordered Sochi and it came lukewarm... We complained to the manager and she said that's how it is in this part of town. She accused us of trying to get a discount. LMAO.

OK, I would have never ever gone to a place that served sushi and thai food in Los Angeles, but this was Hollywood, FL and we thought this place was cute. It's family owned, which tugged at my heartstrings a bit. My review is only based on what I ordered. I ordered the rainbow roll and a bowl of tom yum soup. Both were decent and not bad, but I've honestly had better elsewhere. The prices were pretty high, especially since I've had thai food for $5-$10 at a lot of places near where I live. The sushi was cheaper than the thai food, which surprised me. The owner, this cute little asian lady, gave us these delicious donut things for dessert for free! They were probably the highlight of the meal! =)

The food isn't fresh or very flavorful. The service is atrocious!!!!! Even for downtown Hollywood, it is bad. I was there two times... once they spilled ice water and broke a glass all over our 4 year old guest. she was scared to death and crying. then they tried to remedy it with desserts and sugar for her--great idea. they then messed up our order further, food and drinks. second time it was much worse. the food was horrible!! everything apps and sushi. i threw up all night. I sent mine back after eating two pieces and they still charged me. then they tried to buy us off with donut balls and we decline and asked for a round of drinks instead. they brought us cheap sake, not what we were drinking...beer. just a sickening nightmare. beware the food and service are equally awful. i suspect most of their business is from tourists. after i poked around, found out that many locals have told me they have gotten food poisoning after eating there.

This is a good, solid sushi restaurant. 1) The rolls were fresh, and delicious 2) Servers were good, and attentive 3) Ample outside seating It looses a star for lacking originality, it is your basic sushi/thai menu. That being said, you could do MUCH worse in downtown hollywood.

The food was good however I got some of the worst service ever and it wasn't even crowded. The waitress didn't acknowledge us for at least fifteen minutes asked if we wanted water and beers, made a joke about it, and then didn't even bring the water. I said I wanted my curry hot so I drank my beer quickly. The waitress didn't come back till my beer was empty, I was completely done with my food and smoke was coming out my ears. She then took my friends dish away piled it with dirty utensils before he was finished, laughed about it then walked away. To finish the perfect service I asked her to split the bill she agreed and then didn't do it. Haha jokes on me. I felt like I was being F*%cked with.

I came to this humble establishment on February 26, 2012 after 10 pm with a large group of people. The wait time was annoying, however, good conversations alleviate the suffering. On the plus side, the food was good, the interior of the restaurant was clean, the floor and outside was clean, the meal-portions are a good value for the price. \ I think the food was really tasty and worth the wait. I would definitively go again if I'm in the area.

Been here three times during our stay. Started out with the spice roll. Good combination of flavors right off the bat. The Queen was hesitant until the first bite. Now she wants it ordered along with the drinks. The curry dishes were some of the best we have ever had. The second time I ventured out to the Drunken Noodle dish while the Queen stayed with the usual. This was the best Drunken Noodle I have ever had. The noodles soaked up some of the sauce and had just enough heat to cause my head to sweat. That's a good sign. The third time I went for the Pad Thai. Again the noodles were excellent and the peanut sauce was delicious with enough peanuts to make it stand out. Needless to say, the Queen ate 1/2 of mine. Next time we are in Hollywood, Fl. We will be back.

I love this place!! The owner, "Yaya" is the most charming and adorable person imaginable. Once she gets to know you, she'll treat you like you're stepping into her personal kitchen. The food here is always on point. If you ask for Thai hot, they will give you Thai hot, so be careful. I've often seen Yaya get in there and start cooking! The sushi bar and stove is visible from the restaurant, so you can watch your food being prepared. I personally like sitting on the patio out in the front. You can watch all the families and couples walking by while listening to the live music from the bars and restaurant across the street. Back to the food... If you like pad Thai, you will love it here! It is so flavorful and delicious! Their sushi is also amazing. If you're in the Hollywood area and have a craving for sushi and/or Thai.. Go to Red Thai and Sushi!!
Walking into Red Thai & Sushi, you're immediately overwhelmed by the wafting odor of rotting fish and mold. Intrigued, you'll order some rolls of sushi, watching the sushi chef haphazardly cram together some minced up pieces of overly warm raw fish on a sushi station littered with the crumbs of your roll's predecessors. Better than all this, still, is the sickening feeling that will overcome you as you realize that despite all the warning signs, you still just ate that disintegrating mess and you're going to pay for it for the foreseeable future. Don't expect to sleep peacefully after dinner at Red Thai & Sushi.

Disappointed. Very strong smell of incense when we walked in. My food was not that hot (temperature). The plate the rice was served (and which we ate on) was plastic. Very tacky. The place was not busy at all and the waitress was not very attentive. We were served our food and not given a knife, nor was asked for a while if our food was ok or if we needed anything. Food quality was descent. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

After a week's holiday spent cramming American delicacies, ranging from Taco Bell to Publix turkey subs, down my pie hole, it came as a much-welcomed respite when my brother recommended Red Thai & Sushi for a casual lunch. A long-time resident of Hollywood, my brother is a loyal patron to Red Thai, advocating its charms to anyone looking for cuisine beyond lacklustre Italian chains and overpriced beach bars. Just go here, that's all I can say. It's not much to look at once you're inside, but its unassuming setting was the ideal spot to gobble exciting food and people-watch. With a fullness so fierce it hurt, I still managed to stuff down a few complimentary donuts (with sugary dipping sauce), while my fellow diners, astounded at my capacity for eating, looked on in horror. It's worth adding that the salmon sashimi is some of the best I've had - its succulent, melt-in-your-mouth consistency makes for a fine addition to the city's best sushi bar.

This place was a nice surprise. I was happy to find that they had summer rolls on the menu! I have been looking for them forever! They are my all time fave! Located in the heart of Downtown Hollywood, its a great little place to stop in for lunch. Their dumplings are yummy, and the entree portions are a good size. Our server was great, and she even sent us some complimentay thai donuts. Thank you for the extra calories Red Thai. You're the best.

I have gone to this restaurant about 5 or 6 times now and I always order sushi. I will say they have this tuna rock appetizer which is simply amazing. I usually share it with my husband but last time I went I had it as a meal. Their shrimp shumai is great. Their dragon roll is simply amazing so is their Tuna Jalapeno. I have not had a problem with the service and I've received free thai donuts about 3 or 4 times. The only negative thing I will say is that I took my friend last week and she ordered the shrimp pad thai, according to her it was great but then she found a hair inside so that kind of ruined the meal for her. All in all I'd probably still go back. I didn't find a hair in my meal and the guy that does the sushi is bald so I don't think I'll have a problem.

Pad Thai lovers? Look no further! I had the beef pad Thai for lunch today and not only was it filling, it was so damn good!! To the point where I had to stop myself because I felt like I was gonna explode!! It's big enough to split with another person but in this case, you might just wanna eat it all by yourself ;) its a very small restaurant with good prices and fast service. P.s. The bathroom is VERY small!!! You can sit on the toilet AND wash your hands at the same time.....Definitely not wheelchair accessible.

Excellent food & very nice wait staff. Small & comfortable restaurant with an extensive Thai & sushi menu. They provide large portions & very fresh, delightfully flavorful food. We really enjoyed our meal & will return again on our next visit to Florida on vacation.

YUM! the decor leaves something to be desired but the sushi was phenomenal. the waitress was attentive and the prices were reasonable. the dragon roll we got was ON POINT. it was delicious and tasted really fresh. the cashew chicken thai dish was mediocre--nothing too special but still good. the people watching was also pretty amusing!

Not good at all. The place smells funny when you walk in (like mold) which should have been our first warning. Sushi is prepared on a dirty surface and the refrigeration unit with the fish in it seemed to be off or hardly working. Kind of surprised at all the good reviews of this place because it tasted like S. Also really over priced. Won't be coming back.

I give this restaurant four stars for the menu selection and the service. The servies it top-notch. The servers are attentive, and eager to bring you a new drink. A few weeks ago my husband and I needes a little longer that normal to decide, and our sweet server had no problem. The reason we had a hard time choosing is because there is a large menu. As with most sushi restauants of late, there is a Thai menu, too. I didn't sample this, so I cannot comment. There is a large selcetion, varying from intersting Japanese dishes to typical sushi rolls. The "specialty sushi roll" menu is extensive. My husband and I recently tried the soft shell crab appetizer. I was not competely impressed, but it was, all in all soft shell crab. I also tried an appetizer wth diced raw tuna and avocado in a fresh ginger sauce. Delicious! there traditional rolls are par for the course - nothing you have not tried before, but delicions nonetheless. I must say, their tempura flakes taste similar to sawdust, so avoid rolls with them. They oveall have an impressive menu. I am excited to try some of the more adventurous items in the future. Also note, wine and sake are offered at reasonable prices.

Fresh sushi and great thai. Prices a little on the high side, but quality is well worth it. Try the French Roll for something different!

This was a favorite spot when I lived in Hollywood. The servers are always very polite and once they get to know you, will offer you the occasional free treat (we were once given Thai donuts, which were amazing). Never actually tried anything from the Thai menu as I couldn't keep from ordering the Pascale roll, a specialty with smoked salmon, avocado, tempura batter, cream cheese and sesame seeds. Not authentic in any way, but oh-so-delicious. If you grab a spot on the outdoor patio, you'll have a prime angle to watch the colorful cast of Hollywood characters make their way down the main drag.

I've been to sushi places all over the world and this has been my favorite place I've ever been too. it doesn't look like it, but the best tasting rolls ever. hurricane roll, dragon roll are the best two, but rock and roll will make you very happy too!!

Thai food is one of my favorite cousins, but unfortunately the food in this restaurant isn't up to standard. The place is conveniently located on the main drag with a few outside tables under cover. The acoustics of the outside space is awful though, so if they play loud music across the street it echoes around making it very hard to hold a conversation. Very polite and friendly staff alright, but the food is bland and tasteless or alternatively very spicy but without any real taste. I'd recommend they cut down the very extensive menu to a bare minimum of classic good Thai dishes but do them right. Until then I will skip this place.

If repeating in the same week is any indication of my satisfaction, then call me SALLY SATISFIED. Both times the food has been consistent, portions generous, and the service attentive. The 10% card is a great thing, and even if I had not had it, I would go back there . . . In fact, I am forcing myself to wait at least 7 days, because I dont want to seem like a Red Thai junkie.

I love this place. Their pad thai is simply amazing. I've been going here for 2+ years and I never get sick of it! My husband says he is sure that I could eat this food every day. If you are a vegetarian like me, you'll love this place. So many choices and an excellent selection of choices for everyone. Their sushi is always fresh and generous too. A MUST for locals who love Thai food. Plus, the service is always friendly and the owner is a true sweetheart.

(5)Pedri C.

(4)Dina B.
Great food. Short wait for seating. Best salad with ginger sauce. Great chicken wings. Thai food was great. Decor is fair. Music was in repeat. The waitress was attentive and helpful.
(4)Dewey C.
(3)Melissa N.
(3)Chlo L.
(1)I O.
(4)Meggan M.
The food was amazing! First time we have been able to eat here. Pad Thai was so tasty and the sushi that I ordered was very good! Everyone seemed nice. A couple times I thought some of the waitresses were a little ride but they quickly warmed up. Very happy with this place.
(5)Cory P.
Excellent. This place is good. The chicken katsu is awesome. Chicken soup is awesome. Curry is tasty.

Great lunch specials! Chicken pad Thai is soooo good! Cute, clean place. Service is quick and friendly.

(4)Heather M.
The pad Thai was very good & I am extremely picky with pad Thai. My dad got the red curry which was also good.
(4)Jessica S.
(4)Art S.
First five star review since we moved to South Florida because they have the most delicious tasting Vietnamese rolls, and such flavorful curries. Large portion sizes for what you pay for. They even gave us some Thai donuts complimentary. Taste great and lots of different options.
(5)Sanita M.
You rock!
(5)Meryl S.
Excellent food and service. Every roll was fresh and Delicious! Pad Thai perfectly prepared!
(5)Camila M.
(4)Victoria H.
Great food, great staff, and love the ambiance. Had the sushi mori combo and came away satisfied and full. Would recommend to ANYONE that enjoys fresh sushi
(5)Connie L.
Hands down the BEST sushi place I've been to, the sushi practically melts in your mouth and all of the Thai dishes are absolutely mouthwatering. Perfect for a first date or any date really. The prices are perfect and the staff are lovely.

BEST THAI AND SUSHI RESTAURANT IN FORT LAUDERDALE / HOLLYWOOD. Fast service, authentic food, friendly service. I've been to many Thai restaurants in this area and this is by far the most authentic one. Definitely recommend!
(5)Michael A.

(4)Phil E.
(4)Vicky T.
The Satay chicken grill was raw,the waitress just say SORRY n charged me with full price, you will get Virus if eat raw meat.Terrible , NEVER AGAIN AT THIS PLACE. The owner said; that's the way they grill like that, lol Raw chicken will be ok to eat ???
(1)Stacey T.

(3)Charlie B.
I love this place! It's the best sushi/ Thai food in all of Florida. Our server Ericka was awesome. If you want some heat with your good get (medium). We had the Pad Thai, Red Curry yummm.
(5)Jackie J.
This was a great experience. Driving from Coconut Creek to Hollywood to eat their food was worth a drive. The duck noodle soup was sooooo delicious. My son got dragon roll and that was great. Overall: the food was delicious/ the service was superb/the atmosphere was delighted.
(5)alyssa d.
(3)Laura R.
(5)Ty C.
Some of the best Thai curries I have ever had. Good sized portions with lots of flavor and veges. Kids meals are great with fruit and healthy options. Highly recommend.
(5)Lou N.
Excellent! We had sushi, and it was fresh and tasteful. Very popular with the locals, often very busy. We had lunch, and it was perfect. You can sit outside in the front in the quaint old town part of Hollywood. Well worth traveling to from other communities, as we did.
(5)Franco D.
(5)Nick G.
(5)Mariam D.
(4)J. D.
Best Thai and sushi restaurant I've enjoyed in a long time. Interior is very nicely decorated. Service could be a bit better :-(
(5)Dan H.
I was so glad to find this authentic and clean Thai restaurant while exploring downtown Hollywood. I ordered a ginger stir fry dish, it was amazing. Like other reviewers said, the service is friendly but a little slow. We'll be back for sure though. Free parking in the downtown strip.
(4)Cheri S.
One of my favorite regular spots in Hollywood for awesome thai and sweet ambiance. I love Red Thai, and a great evening spot for people watching too!
(5)Amado D.
Best Thai food in South Florida hands down. I love the red curry but everything on the menu is outstanding. This is a small restaurant and not for large parties.
(4)Nicole H.
I've been here twice, my fiance orders sushi and has loved it both times. I order pad Thai or chicken satay that is delicious. Portions are big.
(5)Brenda M.
(1)Eddie C.
(4)Kevin S.
(2)Tricia S.
(3)Belle L.
I love this place. If you are hung over or have food poisoning go here and have their red curry or the wonton soup it's amazing and truly authentic.
(5)Roberto J.
Amazing beef pad thai and red chicken panang curry. Mild is definitely a 2 so don't try 3 unless you can take some heat.
(5)A A.
Decent place. We sat outside and enjoyed some people watching. The spring rolls were delicious and a huge serving. Our entrees were good as well. Decent place for the price.
(3)Neil H.
(2)Jackie H.
(5)Amelia M.
(4)Jonathan P.
If you love sushi or a delicious pad thai or Panang Curry meal. I highly recommend this place for anything from a dinner date, lunch with friends or grabbing something to take home on the go. The Sushi Mori Combo is a must have for the REAL sushi fan
(5)Tytus G.
the menu is way too big! it's big gamble to find anything that is any good. the service is blatant liars and awefull. I asked if the food was fresh and waitress told me that no restaurants anywhere have fresh food and its all frozen. utterly preposterous!
(1)Bill B.
Quick and cozy. Consistent quality and great food. A bit on the pricey side for sushi or thai but I love the food. Haven't ever had anything bad, so try it all!
(4)Gia F.
Simply the best authentic thai food in south florida. Amazing variety, quality service and great prices. Will be coming back again and again.
(5)Jesus R.
Hmmmm. Cool little vibe and look. Good food. Nice and spicy and a great Thom Ka Kha. If the review were on soup alone, it's a straight up 4. It's in a nice place to hop around too.
(3)Shan W.
(4)Gerri V.
(4)Angelina O.
The food is terrible. Chicken broccoli taste like salt and chewy ass chicken if it is in fact chicken. Tried it twice and both times were so disappointing. Rice is decent
(2)Uri A.
i went here for the lunch special recently, and I must say that I had the best chicken pad thai I've ever had.
(4)Dean B.
This is one of the best Thai restaurants I've ever been to. The food was excellent, full of rich flavors! I had the Thai Basil and Tom Yum soup and my companion had roast duck curry. Its a quaint little restaurant with an attentive staff.

Had the pad Thai and the red curry, delicious and finished with the Thai doughnuts. Very pleased with my meal and would definitely come back!
(4)Angela S.
(2)Doris L.
(4)Jeffrey L.
(4)Stephanie L.
(4)G.man G.
I give 4 stars because its not fair to give 5 but... They deserve 5 stars... Love all food pas Thai , won ton soup , California rolls , fresh spring roll , last night have a pineapple fried rice ! Was delicious .. My wife and my go there almost every week and always the same good food and service also love the decor and atmosphere ..fun to go .. It's normal sometimes be a bit slow when they have a lot a hungry customers ! We know the crew try the best to give you a royal service ..
(4)felicia b.
(2)Rotem H.
Great small date night place! Prices are great and food is better. I always order chicken pad thai spicy # 2 .
(4)Alejandro G.
This place is average. Average service, average food. The area is what makes up for it. Would I go back? More than likely not.
(2)Luigi M.
Had lunch here today. Chicken pad thai lunch special. $7.50 with a spring roll. Good deal, generous size. Chicken was a little dry but the flavor on the dish was great. Will probably go back!
(4)Trisha G.
Loved the food here! I go to many sushi places and just find the same old things, but this one had some very unique and flavorful rolls here! I honestly can't wait to come back. The decor is nice too, only thing is it's a tiny bit crampt but that's ok.
(5)Oleg S.
I read a lot of great reviews about this place. Well it's OK, not bad not good. Distant service, medium serving sizes, not too clean but not too dirty, no music but not noisy. Might try it again.. or not
(2)Paul W.
(3)Dave H.

(2)Charles K.
Run the other way. Chicken was worst than dry pork. Do not eat here. Overpriced and not fresh. Ordered Sochi and it came lukewarm... We complained to the manager and she said that's how it is in this part of town. She accused us of trying to get a discount. LMAO.
(1)Ejo Y.
Do not have seafood noodle soup!! $16 bucks for lunch is pricey and the food is not not fresh at all!!!
(2)Kristen S.
If you like spicy this is your spot! Never disappoints!!
(4)Pauline L.
(3)Consumer R.
(1)Andy T.
(4)Brent B.

(4)Leon M.
(4)Amanda M.
(5)Lindsay G.
I was reluctant to go to this place because of the decor but I am so glad my fiancée dragged me there. The fried rice was amazing, the Tom Yum Soup was good I prefer mine a little spicier but the rolls with no rice-you know with the cucumber rind-are the best I have had in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area. My only complaint is that I live in South Beach and they don't deliver there.:)

Best Masaman Curry ever! You must have this if you like Masaman curry. The eggplant appetizer was so tender and the sauce, delicious!

No ambience, but the food makes up for that lack!

Also note, wine and sake are offered at reasonable prices.

the food is good. service. oh my. i asked for a glass of water two times. after eating a curry meal, i got an " oh .. ok ". They were not crowded, so it was not an excuse.

The sushi and Thai food are both always great. Nice selection of rolls.

Good Thai food. Sit on the covered porch and watch the people walk by.
