I love the atmosphere of this bar. It is very divey and super chill. As other Yelpers state, it is a hole in the wall right next door to Mauro's pizza but I love it. I will warn you and say that the bar is extremely tiny so if you're planning to go with a big party you will not fit. But, the beers are super cheap and not all of them are $4 as others have mentioned bt most are. My partner and I have only been once because we are taking a break from drinking beer but I'm sure we will be returning soon. Highly recommended.

This has become our neighborhood spot when we have time to grab a beer and want to go to a relaxed place. The owner is Polish, as am I, and the Okocim and Zywiec are always available. Reminds me of funky smaller bars like the type you'll find in Europe with smoke still in the air and great music. One of the best spots in Hollywood in my opinion. Na Zdrowie!
(5)Claud I.
Great dive bar! The service was quick and the beer selection variety is sure to have something for everyone. Tried their brew and was not a huge fan. Will definitely be coming back again
(4)M. L.
Lisa is still tending there, and that's all you need to know.
(5)Krys P.
Honestly, I was a little uneasy by the pair of mannequin legs sticking upside down in the window display. And another pair inside a giant bird cage in the bar (along with two dolls). When other Yelpers say cozy and intimate, this is not what I have in mind. But as a coworker says this is her favorite place, and as we do need a drink after all the greasy food in the heat, I take a deep breath and sit down. The young female bartender is personable, and I can see how once you get used to it this place can grow on you. On my visit they have about eight beers on draft for $5 each, some locals, some domestic and two Europeans. Sadly, the tap doesn't work on the one I want to try. Bottles are lined up on the shelf. Bottom shelf is $5 each, but selection is rather slim at that price. Middle shelf is $6 and top is $7 and up, for stuff like Delirium. Maybe I didn't come when this place is happening, but it didn't exactly wow me. There is a big sign "Smoking is Allowed" so I sure will not like this place when it gets crowded and smoky. Meanwhile Old Hollywood on Harrison has a big wider selection of beers all at $5 and more comfortable space indoors and out.

My go to dive bar on Saturday night! Live dj playing interesting tunes and a cozy atmosphere to meet new people. Different beers to chose from. It gets packed at times so don't mind squeezing through crowds. Many stuff to look at on their walls. Art show and open mic on certain days. One Bartender working so patience is a must.
(5)Alejandro K.
Excellent place to have a beer with some friends (highest selection of beers) They can change the pandora station if you request it
(5)Todd R.
What can I say about this cozy hole in the wall? Well, I've been coming to PRL since about 2005. At the time, the owner Jay and his bartender Julie ran the place mostly. The beers were always good and he'd often get the greatest stuff on tap. (lots of St. Bernardus stuff as well as other European beers. Also, Jay is Polish and he serves up Polish beers such as Okocim and Zywiec) as the years went on, PRL slowly evolved with the times. Some beers disappeared from their menu and in their place new beers arrived. Back then, PRL wouldn't ever really get too crowded. It would get busy, but never crowded. That all had changed now as the beer scene has become more trendy and the hipster crowd rolled in, PRL has become quite the hangout. What's important to note about PRL is that it has all the makings of an appropriate hole in the wall divey craft beer bar. Smoking is allowed and it's small space makes for a smoke filled room. That's one of the draws of this place though. The ambiance is what makes PRL, well, PRL. Good beers, good company, cool bartenders that you begin to become friends with. They even allow you to bring pizza in from Mauros right next door to eat while you're sipping away at your beer. Live music is always great too, and they host their walls to local artists trying to sell their work. All in all, PRL is great, I hate cigarette smoke and still manage to hangout here because I've been coming for so long. If you're a fan of good European beers and a good selection of other craft selections and don't mind the small interior and smokey air, you will like PRL. If you don't like smoke, they have outside seating too, so that shouldn't be an issue. Check out PRL if you're ever in downtown Hollywood.
(5)Joe G.
So many times I've walked by this spot and have never dipped in till last night. Very laid back inside with a very eclectic vibe, bordering on the weird side; by all very cool and inviting. The beer selection consists of mainly European beers all reasonably priced. They are having their 10th Anniversary party the weekend of April 1--12th but I won't be in South Florida. My wife is thinking of going with her sister and some friends. I will be back for sure since there is NO other place like it that I've found in South Florida!
(4)Mel W.
Stumbled by this place a few weeks ago with my gf one Sunday Night. Not bad! We're a little picky when it comes to lounges..hate the "bro" crowd you're subjected to in Lauderdale, so this was a nice break without having to drive down to Miami. It's divey, but very intimate and cool. It was also our first time so we don't know how rowdy it gets on the weekend--Sunday was really sparse, though (not that it bothered us). the Dj was excellent..all deep and tech house--kind of what I would expect from a place like that.
(4)Howard H.
I love this place! Came here on a Friday night and hung out with a few friends. I like the atmosphere in this place. It's a small neighborhood bar but feels very cozy. They got all kinds of different import beers and it seems like you can't go wrong picking anyone of them. Friendly bartender and nice crowd. Music in here is not so loud so you can actually hear conversation between you and your friends. Call me Norm! Would definitely come back again!
(5)Lisa Z.
Great selection of European beer and American craft beer. Prices are reasonable as well. A nice little hidden gem in the heart of downtown Hollyweird.
(5)Gretchen H.
Cool little dive beer bar in Hollywood. Emphasis on little. This was not a problem the night that I was there but I can see where it could get really crowded. The atmosphere is most definitely divey but seemed to have a good mixture of all kinds hanging out. It did not give off the impression that anyone would be made to feel unwelcome there. The other upside to its divey-ness is that it is not in a divey part of town. So while you get to hang out in a dive bar you aren't in a dive part of town. Beer only so don't go if you are looking for anything else. Since they are beer only they have a large selection and the bartender was super knowledgeable about every beer we asked about. If we lived down there I could see us going there again. Fun place for after dinner to hang out with friends and isn't that what it is really all about?
(4)Kent W.
PRL is like home-away-from-home for this transplanted New York cat. It's long and dark and hip in an artsy/funky sort of way. Tons of crafted brews. Live music and comedy. Art on the walls. It stays open late and it's right next to Mauro's Pizza and those New York style slices (which you are welcome to chow down on at PRL). If you seek a "cold one" in a cool place--PRL is for you!
(5)Sierra K.
My favorite spot in Hollywood. Not only are the bartenders really nice but they have a great selection of the most random craft beer. The seating can be limited but for the most part it is never super crowded, even on weekends. It really reminds me of a locals bar that would be in NYC or Seattle.
(5)Mike H.
This is a good little beer bar. It is very divey, especially for the area, but that is part of the charm. It's a super laid back place to grab a drink, and it's nearly impossible to pigeon hole the clientele. I saw a dog sitting on a barstool, and you could smoke in the bar. They have a few tables out on the sidewalk if that's your thing. They have a ton of different types of bottled beer to choose from. I tried a few different ones, and they all cost about $6. The bartender was nice and really knew what she was talking about with respect to the beers. I don't think they had liquor, and it appeared bottled beer was definitely their specialty. If you are in the mood for no frills, laid back beer drinking this is your place.
(4)Hung D.
What a great little bar. Awesome beer selection and super friendly staff. They even have their own branded beer. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. No food available, but plenty of joints nearby to satiate your hunger.
(4)Valberta G.
Chilled, relaxed environment. The first time we went it was super packed lol and ended up chit chatting with a local. Also got a chance to taste sample the Delirium Tremens from a patron who was kind of enough to let me taste a sip. The second time around was on a Sunday evening and it was super quiet. They had a DJ that played some awesome music and Julie, the bartender, brought in her calm assertive (yes I've been watching the Dog Whisper) dog. All in all a great chilled place with a huge variety of beer and you just never know who you will be chit chatting with. The only downside is the smoking. But oh well...
(4)Courtney C.
Chill hole in the wall bar, dimly lit, decent selection of craft beers, I enjoy the random shows and foreign movies playing on the TVs- great place to be and spot eclectic hipsters of Hollywood.
(5)Claire H.
This is my dive bar to go to! I love beer n it's right by my house! I recommend it if you want a friendly fun crowed. Not a big fan of the owners wife I find her rude n obnoxious but Julie n Lisa are sweethearts! Have a St. Bernard and relax!!!!
(4)Tiffany H.
Decent beer selection (though only 2 cider choices) and friendly bartenders. The strawberry-lime cider is delicious, as is the raspberry lambic beer. The place is very small, but a nice place to hang out with a few friends- it can get fairly crowded on Friday/Saturday nights, but otherwise it's usually not too packed.
(4)Amber H.
This is a great bar to go to. The music here is unique and the people are all kind of peculiar, but if you put it all together it creates a nice vibe I guess. Met the owner and he was kind of rude and unwelcoming which gave me the impression that he doesn't care too much about customers trying to compliment him on his bar, which I was trying to do..? There was one bartender. She was busy with a full bar, not including people coming in or the ones toward the front area drinking already. She was pretty quick and helpful being that I don't know too much about European beers. They have a wide selection on beers, good specials if you ask, and the prices are affordable. Make sure to tip decent or you just won't get a good service or one at all.
(3)Annie B.
Visited this place due to the reviews. However, it was way worts than I could have anticipated. Horrible environment, then first step in there and we turned right around and walked out, very small and full of smoke.
(1)Gion G.
Love this low key place reminds me of bars I went to in Europe and Seattle. The pizza next door is a bargain!
(5)Adrian P.
Was just there beer selectionwas great with my favorite on tap! OKOCIM! Plus the barmaid was friendly.
(5)Camilo B.
Very cool place to hang out and have some good beer!
(5)Lacey C.
The most fun you'll ever have in a dive. It's smokey, loud and you'll be surrounded by climate change majors. But the beer selection is awesome, the ambiance is perfect Poland kitsch and the service is bright, sincere and homey. Probably not the first place you should hit when you're on the town, but worth more than a pit stop.
(4)Nicole C.
"I support road head." This is one of the many... err... virtues that can be found written on dollar bills that cover the walls of this hipster euro dive bar. Also found at this bar are an amazing collection of suggestive Barbie & Ken photographs, too cool for school patrons, casual vibes, AND A SUPERB selection of European beers (duh). ...but really, I think they already had me at Barbie porn.
(5)Paul M.
You go to Florida for the beautiful beach and the beautiful women? That's nice. I was planning on shutting myself into a tiny, dark bar with a giant slice of pizza and a Polish beer. (I was thinking of following that with a Czech beer, and maybe three or four more beers I've never heard of). When I lived in Miami, this was my go-to bar. Sure, South Beach can be a lot of fun, but I could actually relax in PRL. There's a big selection of European beers. Everyone is friend. And there's a lot of really weird things in the bar (is there still a baby doll in a cage?). I tried reading the book about beer while drinking beer, but I think things started to get too meta. Either that, or I was getting too drunk. Oh well, whatever. You stay weird, PRL.
(5)Arthur G.
As far as beers go, this place is great the elongated and narrow ambiance is interesting. It's easy to sit at the bar and make a new friend. I think it's a dive, but there isn't too much outside of the beer to do there.
(3)Michael S.
Make sure your park your fixie before entering you hipster you. Finally got to check out what all the buzz is about at PRL. Pretty interesting place that looks more like a hallway then a drinking establishment. The selection of bottled beers is HUGE and there is something there for everyone. It did get very crowded when we were in there and super loud. The only negative thing I can really say about PRL is the bartender, she was super slow and not exactly friendly. But besides this it was an awesome experience and I would most likely stroll back for a beer. Summary -Huge selection of beer -Pizza next door -Good prices -Awesome time -Hall like building -Hipster paradise
(4)bridget s.
Granted the selection isn't enormous- this is one of my favorite bars in Hollywood. They have a large selection of beer to choose from to fit your mood & the music is always good. Frrom my experience it's never too packed or empty either, always just right. Prices aren't as cheap as some other dives in Hollywood but not over the top either. They have their own beer-PRL, which I rather like & is always on special. The walls are pretty much covered in art ( which is mostly for sale) so there's plenty of interesting stuff to look at. You'll usually find friendly bartenders & regulars here- no need to be on the lookout for bar brawls as you won't find them here. So this isn't the kind of bar you spend hours on end at but it's a nice place to stop by & have a beer or two any day of the week.
(5)S N.
Cool place to try many different types of beers. Its definitely a different kind of bar but overall not bad.
(3)Larry K.
Is this a joke? How did this place get 5 stars??? Ok, first off, this place is about the size of my bathroom. 8 stools and no room to walk. Decent beer selection bu they were out of the first 3 things I asked for. Bartender was pleasant but not that good to look at. Bartenders are supposed to be hot or at least cute. Really depressing vibe. This might have been a decent place a few years back but its outdated and sad now. I wont be back.

Polska Rican Love, as it's known in my circle, cuz who can say Polska Rzeczpospolita Ludowa 3x fast? Tourists beware; the "café" portion of the name is a misnomer. The whereabouts of Earl Grey, Gloria Jean, and Segafredo Zanetti are a complete mystery to the staff. They do, however, know where Sam Adams and at least sixty of his foamy friends hang out. Sure the music makes it feel like you're at some Euro-Trash disco tweeked out on speed,,,but I've heard there's a Wizard of iPods somewhere with the controls. He is apparently infatuated with only two playlists...DIRTY HOUSE and DUB STEP. Unz Tiss, Unz Tiss, Unz Tiss!!! For real, the bass in this place will knock your fillings loose. Definitely doesn't fit with the artsy/open mic night decor they've got going on, but I forgive them because PRL is a demilitarized stress free zone. Lemme tell you about one of my most memorable experiences -- At their Anniversary party they had a full-blown trivia contest with prizes every hour, on the hour. There were some real brainteasers too, like the one that was thrown at me as I opened the front door -- Q: Quick, which six countries border Poland? A: uuum Slovakia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Lithuania, Belarus, and... ze Germans? Fuckin' smart right?! Truth be told, I had just taken my first GIS class with a professor that specialized in NE European climatology + I was painfully sober. Grand Prize: a 16.9 oz bottle of Okocim "True Polish Taste" Now I had a question, "... but shouldn't it be seven? Kaliningrad counts as Russia, right?" Bonus Prize: another 16.9 oz bottle of Okocim "True Polish Taste" After those Polish Pilsners I was feeling "very nice" and actually allowed the owner to place a bumper sticker on my week-old newborn baby Mazda 6. In return he'd give me any brew in the house...as long as it was from the motherland. I settled on a Zywiec Porter, cuz I like my beers like I like my ladies... Dark and heavy, with a name I can't pronounce. Now after drinking almost 2-liters of high gravity beer, you could say I was rather twisted. But so far I'd only spent $6, on tips. I felt obligated to buy something...I just didn't know what... Catholicism owns the majority of the religious shares in Poland, and the citizens do their part to maintain it. They support the faith by investing in breweries, conveniently located in the Kingdom of Belgium's oldest monasteries. I've never seen a Pole drink German or Russian beer, but Belgians ones are permitted. As you can read on one of the Sharpie stained dollar bills used as wallpaper -- "If you don't drink beer, you don't love Jesus." Can't argue with that logic, I certainly don't want to swim laps in a lake of fire, so here are my choices for liquid sacraments; Delerium Tremens - order this and you're making a commitment to go home in a taxi. Kwak - this 9% amber, and malty God of beer is poured in distinctive glassware that's reminiscent of the Holy Grail. Kasteel - I have a warm spot for this little beer in my cold black heart. I received a 750ml champagne-style bottle of it for my birthday from a Belgian friend, Michael H. That was the first craft beer of my life, merci beaucoup mon ami. I didn't know if the bartender was mad at me when she offered me a shot, but this is what ensued; Nalewka Babuni (Morello cherry liqueur) - I believe I've had this before, but it was called Robitussin® in the 80s. Sickly sweet, viscous, and cherry flavored, but it does the job. Underberg - foul German aperitif. If you scraped the remnants of a Sambuca still and mixed it with rancid tonic water, you'd get this. Not that I'm saying I haven't drank a lot of this Jägermeister flavored gravy, but it still tastes like zombie blood. After you have these you'll be so drunk you'll be chanting the merits of Bud Select 55. GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF! Start the sobering process by hydrating, and getting a slice of pizza (cheese or pepperoni only) from Mauro's next door.
(5)Doris L.
Delirium Tremens - $7. That's enough for me to stay here a long while. Tourist/newbie - this is not a "Cafe" that services cafe. But they do serve serious imports with names that boast many consonants. It's dark and off the beaten alley and tiny and dark and red and full of dusty rusty shit you find in your crazy uncle's attic. Right next door is a tiny pizza joint that serves ginormous cheesy slices. One chick ate one next to me at the bar. Not a bad idea when you are jonezing to wash down a slice with a serious beer. Have not been lucky enough to catch any live music here but I will. I most certainly will. (Link to tiny review of tiny pizza joint next door: yelp.com/biz/mauro-pizza… )
(5)Melissa S.
One of my go-to bars when Miami is just too far of a drive. I am not a fan of Broward county in the least, but a little part of me is always rooting for Hollywood. Euro Cafe is the glimmer of hope that I hold onto due to its seemingly endless variety of beers and laid-back ambience. The bar is TINY, but comfortable. The people are chill and the music is enjoyable. Indoor seating is great for chatting and outdoor seating is great for people watching. I'll be back soon to drink away the mid-week sorrows.
(4)Lin K.
artsy, eclectic, out ot the ordinary for Hollyweird.
(4)Macielle B.
Everyone loves a good whole in the wall bar in the heart of Lincoln Road's red-headed stepsister! I can safely say PRL is the best part of Hollyweird international beer in a uber small but charming bar.... why not???!! They have different varieties of Delirum....I'm done, need I say more? If you havent had any go, try it and thank me in the morning, I'll have your two advil's waiting.
(5)Marcus D.
Huge cache of beers. I absolutely love this bar. Why, no? The bartender was cool. I baffled him with my knowledge of the Polish nobility, regaling him with tales of the Poniatowskis, the Radziwills, the Czartoryskis and the Leszczyriskis, as if I knew them. It's like sitting in a narrow hallway.
(5)Ing C.
PRL is my favorite place to go when I want to wet my whiskers! Their collection of beer is impressive and would excite any beer connoisseur. I mean , how could you not love a bar that has your favorite beer readily available? (Hobgoblin, in case you were wondering) The ambiance and the friendly staff is also a reason I love going there. If you are a fan of little dive bars with that special 'at home' feel, you wont be able to resist wanting to go back to PRL after you've experienced it.
(5)JC B.
Here are the issues that I have with this bar: 1. I'm convinced that they used to open up earlier. 2. According to the owner, J is a douche bag (don't ask me why female hygene is a negative euphamism) 3. they keep running out of the good beer 4. I have a real problem that they no longer have the 240 beers they had when they first opened. 5. Frank Kenna. 'nuff said 6. 22 hours is way too long a commute to come as often as I'd like. And one more thing... if you like beer, intelligent conversation, an owner with a back ground that makes Burn Notice sound like Holly Hobby (don't worry you're too young to get the reference), then you have to come here. why I moved to Arkansas... job. living on the beach and coming to PRL six nights a week... priceless
(5)Carl V.
Living in Hollyweird has it's share of crackheads and nuisances so I constantly thank Esteban for PRL. They open somewhere between 2-4pm, happy hour until 7, and a bunch of excellent beer. The place is super narrow, which is awesome when there's 4 people in there but gets real crowded Thurs-Sun nights. I've met some awesome individuals there and have had wonderful conversation with complete strangers, so that + the atmosphere + the decor warrants 5 stars. Not really good for huge groups, but totally worth checking out and just loafing.
(5)Michelle N.
If you like beer that isn't Budwesier or Miller, PRL Euro Cafe is definitely the place for you. They have a great selection of all kinds of beer. The place is small, and like the other reviewers said, like a hallway. They had some couches in the front, in case you don't want to sit on the rickety bar stools. We were there during an off day, so we didn't have to worry about a crowd. I can see how it would be difficult to move on a busy night. I think what I love the most was that it reminded me of a couple of bars we would go to in Austin, Texas. You don't even feel like you are in South Florida, which is nice sometimes. The best part is that It is not at all douchetacular like some other bars down here. PRL Euro Cafe is definitely a place I would revisit.
(4)Paul W.
I stopped here with 3 others for a few after dinner beers on a recent Thursday night. The beer selection wasn't as large as I remember it being the past, they were out of a few of the beers that were on display, and though we just wanted to grab a table, chill and chat for a bit over a few beers, the only 2 tables that could accomodate our group of 4 were out on the sidewalk in front of this bar, and both were taken. We stuck around for one beer, then went across the street to another bar. Regarding their beer selection - If I hadn't already experienced the Democratic Republic of Beer on more than a few occasions with their huge beer selection, and Zeke's Roadhouse which boasts "180 beers from around the world", I may have given PRL a little higher rating. However, after experiencing those other establishments, the variety here pales by comparison.
(3)Carina H.
My favorite bar in Hollyweird. I love going to PRL, ordering a beer I've never heard of and eating a slice from next door. The bartenders are great, the selection is ridiculous, and the atmosphere is dark and can be loud. I like it that way. I'm so glad this bar is in my life.
(5)Christopher M.
PRL is a bar that I have been frequenting for the past 5 years, and honestly no matter what part of town I am in it's my go to bar. A nice relaxed setting with good vibes, good service and most importantly good craft beers/wine at a reasonable price. They also have events which always brings in a good crowd of people with good conversations waiting to be had. First Fridays is always a must attend event, beer specials, guest DJ's and open mics make for a great time. So if your looking for that perfect dive bar with just the right amount of intriguing scenery go to PRL you won't regret it.
(5)Brandon C.
Having recently moved to the area I heard about this little hole in the wall. Was with a friend who recommended it. Tried the house beer. Was great if your a fan of pbr. They also have other beers reasonably priced. 2/$6 deals all day every day. Bartenders are waay cool chicks and they welcome everyone. It's now my faveorite watering hole. Cheers
(5)Malka A.
OK so I'm a native Floridian but I've been living in New York for quite a while so I've seen my fair share of 'hip' bars. PRL doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. It's Euro, and more often then not, the clientele is super sleazy (especially w/ whiskey tango across the street, and let's face it, it IS Hollywood). Anddddd que the 50-something bikers and old sexy momma's looking to score. Their beers are good, the prices are not pretentious and the place has a certain aura to it that keeps you coming back for more. Of all of the bars in all of Brooklyn and Manhattan, PRL is definitely my one of my favorites.
(5)Alex T.
I liked it. Came here for the first time a week ago and I really liked the ambiance of the whole place, the beer selection is a win! especially the house beer that shares the place's name. I will defientely be coming back soon, may I add that the pizza place next door is awesome!!
(5)Mark A.
I like the beer selection. I like the board games at the bar. (Played chess) I'm ok with the small size of the place. I'm not ok with the inattentiveness of the bartender.
(3)Richard K.
After hearing so much about this place, I finally decided to make the short trek on down to Hollywood and see why this place was generating so much hype. It was exactly as the three star title suggests, which is A-OK. The place has a cool dive bar vibe mixed with a struggling artist vibe. It is dark and gloomy and an extremely long and skinny place just how I would envision my struggling artist. They have a nice selection of beers especially Belgium beers. In all, I would say they have around 100 different bottles and 5 beers on tap. After studying the happy hour beers, I went with the sea dog blueberry and Acme IPA. I enjoyed both especially at the 2 for $5 happy hour rate. Sadly, the service was very sub-par. She was non-existent for the last 20 minutes of our stay. I thought she had to take a #2 in the ladies room, but I saw her chatting away on her cell phone. Overall, it is a solid beer drinkers place and wins kudos points for being close to my home in Broward, but sadly it was very underwhelming even with me wanting to like the place. I would go back if I happen to be in the area.
(3)Odinius M.
Great selection of brews. Cool art. 2nd hand smoke.
(3)Frankie A.
good vibes and good beer. Well-behaved dogs are also allowed ( which is a plus for when you don't have anyone to drink with) and if they don't have a band or some electro playing, you'll probably end up finding yourself some good conversation. They also have happy hour specials and the best after beer pizza right next door. It's a bit quieter during the week but def an good option for weekend fun, esp since the pizza place is next door and all the drunks usually migrate their way there at the end of the night =)
(3)Tomasz M.
If you are nearby... hit this place, you will not regret it. What's on Tap? Okocim, Magic Hat, Holy Mackerel and from Lost Coast Brewery: 8 Ball Stout, Apricot Wheat and Indicia. They also have a Huge bottle selection of Imports, so just ask the ladies behind the bar for a printout of their list and recommendation. Chill crowd. I prefer to go early in the week when it's mostly locals, with a small gathering of friends - less is more.
(5)Joy L.
This is my all-time favorite bar. I live in Miami, but have an outstanding passion and love for NYC and nothing reminds me more of being there than PRL. It is a tiny hole in the wall that is as wide as a hallway. Dark. Dingy (with a clean bathroom :) ). Beers from around the world and friendly staff. I learned about Peche beer here, and my life had completely changed. Nothing tops going to a place that greets you with a bird cage that has a naked extra-large barbie doll hanging out in it.
(5)Mikey V.
Great selection of beer at PRL. Nice lively crowd and great speedy service. Priced a bit high (that I can remember) but well worth it. It's a small joint in Downtown Hollywood, but that doesn't seem to bother anyone. Great late night place, in the middle of all the action in the downtown area, great selection of beer from around the world, and great lively crowd.
(4)Christopher H.
I love this place simply for the plethora of beers they have. I love Kwak beer and they have it! The prices are fairly reasonable. The Kwak that I enjoy is $7 a bottle but keep in mind that Total Wine sell a four pack of this for $17. So for a bar that is a decent price for a hell of a good beer. It is a small narrow bar located next to a pizza place if you are hungry because they don't serve food but they do sell chips for $1. Occasionally on weekends you can catch a local band playing or just sit enjoy a brew while taking in the many Barbie on Barbie wall art. Yes they have pictures up of Barbie in all types of NSFW poses. I just wonder what Ken thinks of this?

They have good beers & a chill vibe. the bartenders are all awesome too, which is not always the case in south flori-duh. If you are going with a person new to beer, they will be impressed and probably overwhelmed with the selection... and you should order them a Delerium (trust me, i've been at this beer thing for about 7 years now & i always order novices a Delerium & its not failed me once). I recommend trying these for those not in the "novice" category: Wexford cream ale (England), Flensburger dunkel (Germany), Fraoch heather ale (Scotland) & Old Heathen imperial stout (USA).... Disclaimer: I hate IPAs. For those really into the beer scene, especially the south fla. one, what I like about PRL is they have beers that other beer bars down here don't.... i think its because the owner is actually a Polish guy & knows some great european beers that an American buyer would not know about.

I love this place! I was 'stuck' in Hollywood, FL while visiting friends and they brought me over because it's '#1 on yelp' ... I was like suuure... Now, sure I'm a jaded New Yorker but I managed to find a former New Yorker! The bartender Lisa, who happened to be a Hollywood native, used to live in NYC and I got to spend some time talking about awesome spots in the LES and she gave me the low down on this place they call "Hollyweird" it was great! What a town full of weirdos, and the best part, they love it. Anyway, this place has the most awesome selection of beer, the owner Jay is so laid back and cool. Overall, great place still unsure why they call it a cafe since they don't serve food, did I miss something? Anyway, Love this spot, so very chill- and say hi to Lisa- she's awesome!!
(5)Marcos R.
What can I say, I've had a suspicion that Hollywood might have some cool spots to hang out. I hit the nail on the head, first time out. Thanks for the tip, Pete! PRL is a beer drinker's paradise. Friendly staff too. They like to play good electronic tunes, which will always draw my attention. I think they have DJ's on Fri and Sat nights. Will have to go back to confirm. Only problem is, this place is too small. It's too popular to be in such a small space. If it wasn't for that, I would've given PRL 5 stars. But trust me, I'll keep come'n back regardless.
(4)J. S.
I guess this is where every pseudo-intellectual in Hollywood makes a pit stop after a long day. The decor is very Hollyweird, mixed with a Mormonism twist. Grab a slice at Mauro's, walk into PRL, and let the hallucinations begin.

Stopped in here on a lazy Sunday evening before Memorial Day. This place definitely has it's own personality and walks to the beat of a different drum. The looks are not for the faint of heart, but I promise this is part of the attraction. There is a single long bar and a coupe couch type spots in the front. The draw here is the beer selection that covers a good part of Europe and the US. I don't know much about beer, and I have no problem admitting it. Once I told the bartender she was fine picking out different beers that I could try. They also have their own brand that is a must try. Everyone that was in there was very friendly, from the regulars to the other first time bar flys. There was the feel of hanging out with friends on the weekend. The bartenders playlist matched the mood, and completed the experience. I will definitely stop by again, as there are many more beers for me to try.
(4)Evette A.
Been here once, and I want to go back again. Talk about a hole in the wall, but a good one. The bartender we had was hilarious. Mind you she was a bit inebriated, but that just made even more friendly. The beer I wanted to try was no longer available cause the bartender admitted to drinking the last one. So she got me my second choice of beer, can't remember it off the top of my head, sorry. But as a kind gesture for not having my first choice of beer, the bartender gave a me a freebie on another beer she thought I would like. Talk about great customer service. The only thing that stinks about this place, is that it stinks of cigarettes. Yes for you smokers, feel free to light up while enjoying a great variety of beers.
(4)Michael C.
How about this for a foreign concept: a laid back, locally owned artsy bar that serves craft beers, and nothing else. Imagine that! Well, if you are looking for that in Broward County, and you don't want to be in a fucking meat market or some overpriced restaurant, come here, because it's your only choice. This place won't blow you away, but it's cozy and easy, with cool local artwork for sale on the walls, and music that can range from The Smiths to euro-style house music. Clientele is "weird" by Broward County tastes, but familiar to other urban bars like this outside of South Florida. In other words, nobody here has their head up their ass, and that makes it great. This is definitely not a hipster bar either, Hollywood is not Wynwood, although you might occasionally see a couple of hipsters here.
(4)Katie S.
best beer bar in hollywood. their global beer list is outta control - with a particularly extensive selection of belgian and polish beers. prl also has the hipster arty vibe with local art covering the walls. it can get pretty crowded and smokey but that comes with the territory. prl gets the job done.
(4)Carla B.
***HUGE international selection of GREAT beers in a very relaxed casual atmosphere.*** My buddies and I love this place! Try the Lindeman's Kriek Cherry beer (I know it sounds weird -- just try it, but as your starter beer, because once you have stronger beers you'll spoil it), and the Beelzebuth from France (Whoa! And you thought Heineken was strong!) It's a great place for beer tasting and to just chat and get drunk, and then have a good slice of pizza next door to recover. LOL!
(5)Andrea W.
It's bitter sweet for me. They do have a great beer selection and great location. The people behind the bar are not always the friendliest. Not usually willing to help you make your choice of the 60+ beers that they offer. Although... it is the Polish Republic... it might be a cultural thing, and I can dig that. Na zdrowie (Naz-dro-vee-yeh) = cheers
(3)Jay H.
Best in Broward. Where else in South Florida can you order Romanian lagers or Russian champagne along with your tasty American craft beers? Owned and operated by a native of Poland--hence the name Polish Republican Lounge--PRL puts more focus on the international scene. Sure there are plenty of bars selling craft beer and Belgium beers, but PRL offers selections from all over the planet. I have many fond memories of drinking delirium noel here during the winter season, and I loved the zyviec (Polish) porter purchased during my last visit. The interior is strange and entertaining. Imagine an Eastern European history museum mixed with some amateur art gallery. It's also worth noting that PRL is narrow, like really narrow. This may be one of the worst set ups for a bar ever, but I like the place too much to care. Outdoor seating is great for some prime people watching. There's a reason why they call it Hollyweird, and a night in young circle will help you understand. Music can be a little too loud at times, or maybe I'm just getting old, but everyone should check this place out at least once. It's worth the drive from Dade.
(4)Gregory D.
Im def not a fan of this place. Its really small inside and the service is so slow. Im not into craft beers and if your like me dont even bother going there because thats all they have. I guess if I was a hipster id enjoy it more but Im not so it wouldnt bother me if I never went back.

If Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec loved beer and lived in Hollywood, FL, he'd probably be here. Best bar in Hollywood for hip beer fanatics. It's small -too small, really- but it's got that cozy, low-lit bohemian vibe you'd find in Europe or Cambridge, MA. Artists, writers, dj's, actors and just general weirdos and friendly freaks all come here for the amazing selection of artisan beer and good service. Julie is the main bartender here and you'll know her by her twinkling blue eyes, creamy pale skin and blond mohawk. If the Euro-trash music isn't blaring loud, you can have some intelligent conversations with complete strangers. I'm not a big techno fan but once in a while they do play the Clash, RIP Joe Strummer. If you like edgy, and you like beer, and low-brow art, you'll love it here. If you're the artistic type, ask for a drawing book. They usually have a supply of them going back years and they are filled with the drunken scrawlings of many Toulouse-Lautrec wanna be's (myself included). And yeah, Mauro's pizza is pretty badass. Grab a slice and come back for a beer. Sure their service is sassy but you probably are a clueless idjit asking stupid questions and fumbling around for pennies and you deserved it.
(5)Kat A.
Great beer selection. I was a bit dismayed that they had run out of draft Magic Hat. But overall, a great place. I love the divey feel of the place. The night I was there they had a live band, which was pretty good.
(4)Nicole D.
I love this place!!! If you are sick of the club scene and would just like to go somewhere chill and relax, this is a great place to go. It is literally a "hole in the wall", basically just a hallway with a bar and a couple chairs and tables but it is an awesome little hole in the wall! I love craft beers but I hate to see all these new trendy brewery's over charging for them. PRL does not do that, they have great prices and such a wide variety of beers to choose from. The crowd gets a bit weird sometimes but it's actually kind of fun to watch. The bartenders are so nice and helpful, especially Lisa, and the owner Jay! Definitely worth giving this place a try.
(5)Tom D.
So my friend learned the embarrassingly hard way that "Polack" is a derogatory word at this bar. It's funny, too, because his grandmother is Polish. Also, I don't think he quite got the irony of the name, but then I might be reading into it too much... Anyhow, this is by far and away the best bar in the City of Hollywood, and probably Broward County at large. Cool vibe, interesting music (leans on the electronica end of the spectrum), nice people who tend to stick to themselves. They carry a wide range of beers but don't trust the list they have sitting around. Look at the walls for updates on what beers are actually on tap and new in bottles.
(4)Chris A.
This is "my pub". Reason being.... their 28oz black stouts are all I need to get by....and high. On the wall are stickers with Polish sayings and translations....dollar bills are also stuck to the wall...with people's clever little quotations or "diddies" to sum themselves up...i.e. "DO YOU TWATTER?", "UP YER KILT", "SCOTS HAVE TARTAN BALLS", etc.
(4)Monika K.
Yahtzee! a plethora of beer choices from around the world and country, in an intimate setting, if thats what you wanna call it, some would call it sketchy, but takes a lot to make me feel uncomfortable. its the only place in town where i can get my homeland's ( Poland) beer ON TAP which is unheard of, but at the end of the weekend nights, you can find the keg has run out, booo. However, if you hang around til closing and find yourself with a half full beer ( b/c the glass is always half full) you can kindly ask for a solo cup and take a lil roadie for yourself... but of course drink it before you get in the passenger seat of the car.
(5)Dee K.
one of the few bars i can say that i LOVE! this cozy little bar has such an eclectic vibe. i think there is something for everyone. I love the sketchy art that is featured on the wall and the bohemian atmosphere. there is always good progressive music playing or a dj (one in particular plays with all of his equipment out of a super market shopping cart) in the front window. the best part of this bar is the polish influences. they serve zywiec (pronounced 'shziv-yetz'), which to me is always reminiscent of white grape flavor. you can sit at the bar and color a $ bill and tack it up on the wall, lounge on the couch or mingle with fellow artists, crazies and just plain good people. other than the scene and that one type of beer i talked about-they really do have a nice selection of beers. na zdrowie!
(5)L. S.
Great dive bar! Great selection of beers from all over the world.
(5)Michael T.
This is not your typical bar, so if you go here expecting a meat market or a party bar, then you'll be disappointed. The European owners are friendly enough, but don't expect Miss Bubbles Cheergirl ... that's not what it's about. It's more of a goth type of place. It's worth going just for the ambiance. The walls are covered with a lot of weird crap that you can spend hours looking at. But even without that the beer selection is phenomenal as others have noted. I had whatever IPA was on draft and a Belgian ... also a Xingu Black Beer from Brazil which I hadn't been able to find for many years. Also the owners steered me right to a great restaurant for dinner a few blocks away. They were very helpful and took the time to call ahead to make sure the place was open ... so they're definitely not rude or unhelpful people, you just gotta ask! I'm going back to PRL in June when I visit Hollywood again. Highly recommended. (I almost never give five stars but this place is so unique and a welcome antidote to the standard Hollow-wood touristy blech.)
(4)Jeremy B.
PRL is a great bar. They have an outstanding beer selection, especially for European beers (obviously). The owners and bartenders are nice, there is cool art all over the walls, usually they have a DJ playing indie rock or chill out & electronic music, and how convenient? Mauro's Pizza next door, one of the best pizza places around. PRL is the perfect place to relax inside, drink a quality beer and listen to music. Or, you can sit outside for good people-watching down Hollywood Blvd.
(5)Tal M.
good place
(5)Arturo M.
It is what it is, and it does it well. Lots of beer selection, with a bit of a dive bar feel to it. No mojitos here sir.
(5)Mike F.
PRL Euro Cafe and Jay defintely keep it real... No flare or BS, this place gives you a bar to sit at, a few couches to slouch on and once in a while a DJ or musician to ring your ears. Their imported beer collection can hang with the best of them... You WILL find a great beer here, some interesting people and interesting, inexpensive art on the walls. Like a painting or picture? Grab it off the wall and throw down some dollars and it's yours. Parking is convenient, restaurants galore are within walking distance and the staff are there to please!
(3)Matthew S.
I nice little pub. Had beers on tap that I've never heard of or tried.
(3)Felecia W.
I am amazed that I havent reviewed PRL yet! Ive been coming to this bar since it opened almost 5 years ago! We hit it up last night with some friends and had a great time. Jay, the owner is totally rad and was there pouring beers last night. The walls are plastered with local art, and all of its for sale. Jay has what seems like 100 beers to choose from and it doesnt suck that Mauros is right next door for late night pizza!
(5)Benjamin Z.
Great art and beer here. This place is a hole in the wall but it has never diappointed. Every first Friday there is their monthly art show featuring dubstep and drum and bass... yes please. Sometimes they are out of a few beers but I still love this place!!!!
(4)Tom C.
PRL is the perfect little spot to find a beer you probably never tried. Its got a authentic Euro feel. kinda out of place for Hollywood standards, which is why it is so cool. Totally laid back and fun for a few brews. And you never know who you will become friends with by the time you leave.
(4)Joseluis A.
so youre in hollywood and you want to have a good beer. where do you go? to prl. prl is a bar with balls, lots of imports, lots of bottled beers, cool ambiance, art shows every first friday of the month. prl gets extra cool points for being right across gelateria dolce vita. hell yes.
(5)Lindsay N.
I love this bar. Great selections of beer. If you go early you can find a seat. Bad art on the walls but funny to discuss why it's there.
(4)Peter M.
This great place just won New Times "Best Neighborhood Bar - South Broward" and Julie won "Best Female Bartender"
(4)Maya G.
ok- so this place def. has a "scene". I gave it 3-stars since I def. see the appeal and can understand why people enjoy this place. It has a lot of different beers, friendly service, and the decor has an interesting "style"-sorta. That being said, it was WAY too small that it makes going here with more than 2 people difficult. You pretty much have no choice but to sit at the bar or at the couch next to the really loud dj. Also, the european techno music is not my favorite.
(3)Christian L.
Look no further, this is hands-down the best beer joint in Broward. If all you're looking for is a chill place and a laid back vibe to enjoy your foreign beer - look no further. This narrow bar is wedged in between other shops and one way to look for it is the little crowd usually standing outside on the sidewalk. It has a cozy Euro-feel to it as soon as you walk in. As you walk in there is a small lounge area and as you make your way inside, you instantly know you've made the right choice. There are colored lights decorating the wall behind that bar between the many beer bottles from around the world. The bartender is a friendly European woman and is happy to answer my questions about different beers. The menu? A laminated typed-up paper with frays around the corners that makes this place feel gritty and authentic. As she shares her personal recommendations you start noticing the eclectic art they have up on the walls. You order your beer while the rock music -that is not overbearing- plays in the background. You chat it up with your friends and the people at the bar are mellow and friendly. As you enjoy your 5 dollar Israeli beer that you're trying for the first time, you pat yourself on the back for walking in this place.
(5)Briana A.
I love this little dive bar. It makes me feel like it's a home away from home sometimes.
(5)Marc F.
Very nice bar on Hollywood Blvd., where one can find a huge beer selection, great art, interesting people and alright music. The bar has a hallway shape, making it a little tight spaced. The music can get a little intense for such a small bar, but the extensive list of beers will have your mind elsewhere. Check out their events, they are constantly changing them, giving different artists a chance to show what they've got. They host a Ladies' night ever Monday, and BIZ night every Tuesday (bottom shelf two for 5$ all night). I enjoy this place and can always see myself stopping in for a new beer, especially since they're located next to the best pizza joint in all of Hollywood!
(4)Luke S.
Best bar I've probably ever been to. Great place to rest my weary bones. Awesome beer.
(5)Erin E.
You can judge a person's character by this simple act: take them to PRL. If they are uncomfortable then screw 'em! I love beer and when this place opened up and myself and room mate lived down the road we fell in love immediately. Where else can you sit with a few people in a smoke infested, electro music infused, bar. The beer selection is fantastic and usually the conversation that brews up with your friends or soon to be new friends is great. Besides, there are painting and photographs up the wha-zoo for you to look at and/or buy. I only wish the t.v.'s were not installed but c'est la vie... And if you get to meet Jay, the owner, then your life has just become a little more interesting! Stay late and try to get 10 minutes of his time to shoot the shit ~ Go, enjoy, DO IT! and try the cherry wine!
(5)German G.
Great variety of beers! Love this place to drink a couple of imported beers.
(5)Peter W.
It's a tiny dive bar with tons of beer selections. Only negative is the air doesn't circulate so you'll stink of cigs by the end of the night. I like their different music nights and events. Supporting local artists is cool too. Ask for something specific and they'll probably put it on. Nice people.
(4)Dawn C.
I am new to the area, and heard about it, but it doesnt look like a place I would hang out. So, when I was around the corner buying a bottle of wine at Hollywood Vine, some dude asked me to go to a beer tasting at PRL. Um, OK. So glad I did. Met some cool people, sampled like 6 beers, and then hung out for a while. Nice. And, who knew you could wake up with a beer hangover. LOL Cool.
(4)Jenna C.
My fav. bar in hollywood! Great beer selection, great crowd, great art & great staff!
(5)Rachel M.
PRL is a small bar in downtown Hollywood. a small bar with a lot to offer those looking for a place with great beer. the place has a long bar to cozy up to and that is about it (minus one table and a couch towards the front door). three long shelves display the beers they carry from around the world: belgium, germany, france, south africa, poland, slovakia, england, israel, south american beers, american crafts, plus TONS more. bottom shelf is the cheaper selections, top shelf obviously top beers/price. always seems to be more men than women in there & always an interesting crowd. last time i went i met two drunk russians, amazing! /////////////////////////////////// happy hour: any two beers on the bottom shelf for $5. daily special: 2 for $5/$6/$7's. just look for the small white dry erase board behind the few beers they have on tap to see what the current deals are.
(5)Jeff R.
Best beer selection in South Florida...a must try.
(5)Patricia O.
Love this place, awesome beers from Europe. Small and cozy. Plus good selection as well. Have 3 beers and u are set. Love delirium beer from Belgium!!
(4)Sean G.
PRL is exactly what you want in a local bar. I'll admit, if you were to compare it to bars in other cities you might find it a bit lacking or generic, but I promise you, it's hard to find places that match PRL in SoFlo, especially in Young Circle. They've got a crazy selection of beer, but sadly they run out of the real interesting stuff often. They always seem to have a good number of IPAs on hand though. I tend to go with Titan or Jai-alai IPAs or a Monty Python Holy Grail Ale as a fallback. Be sure to check out the pizza place right next door, it's the perfect ending to a drunken night.
(4)Celeste L.
If you like large variety of beers this is a great spot. As a girl I love their organic apple cider. They have very interesting art work there that you can buy and julie the bartender has tons of personality. I do wish they were doing their tuesday night dubstep still. They played awesome music and that small pub would get packed out with people dancing!
(4)Tchaka O.
Kathy, this is your favorite bar and that's the most you can write about it? Look at Rachel's review - much better! PRL has a fantastic selection of primarily European beers and is a good place to sample. If I'm indecisive I tell what I'm looking for and the bartender (usually Julie) will recommend several. The percentage of alcohol in a few of the beers runs over 10% so designate a driver if you're going to imbibe a few. The decor is less S.Florida and more Northeast. The first Friday of each month PRL hosts live DJs spinning house and techno. Most of the paintings displayed on the walls are for sale. Very friendly staff and a great place for relaxing with a drink. Once a month
(5)Jimmy P.
Best beer selection in Hollywood. Every restaurant in South Florida only sells Bud, Bud Light, etc... But PRL sell the best hand-crafted beers. Amazing!
(5)Albert K.
We were looking for a place in between Boca Raton and Miami for a President's Day Monday night meetup with old friends. Thanks to the iPhone Yelp app, I found this gem. It looks like a dive bar inside, but the beer selection is amazing. The specials board behind the beers on tap was a great tip by Rachel M. We had giant steins of German ales for $5 each. Owner seemed really nice, even though we did not look like we were regulars or from the area. It was a nicer night out, so we sat outside at the sidewalk tables and had a few rounds. We also had a few slices of the pizza place next door, which is pretty reasonable, but sassy service. =) I have no idea what it would be like on a busy weekend evening, but if I'm ever back in the area, I'll make a trip back. Metered parking is all along Hollywood Blvd and relatively cheap. PS, be careful if you're getting directions via iPhone. When it copied the addy to Google maps, it took me to some scary residential area near some train tracks. Make sure that the "A" in "1904 A" doesn't screw up your directions! Oh technology....
(4)Marc V.
Small European style bar. Best bottled beer selection in Hollywood! Nice decor, but overall the bar is too small, and they don't serve food. Friendly bartenders. Good to place to go if you're just looking to sit at a bar and enjoy good conversation.
