Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Stopped in because I had to wait for the Locksmith next door. As soon as I looked at the place I knew it had to be good. It wasn't too busy, just a few people walking in to pick up take out. Ordered the tamales. I had to force myself to slow down. They were awesome! Best Mexican food I've ever had! Service was great with the exception of a slight language barrier... But it was no problem at all, I'm a gringo so it's expected. Don't let the area scare you away! Stop in! You won't regret it!

Delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine. They have the mole sauce shipped from Mexico for g's sake! Nice staff, fun music or karaoke some nights too. They're missing a liquor license, so no Margaritas but the sangria and the Tecates were fine. A hole in the wall and makes your mouth water and wanting more tacos!

You tired of Taco Hell, this place has Authentic Mexican cuisine, and I mean Authentic! Service is excellent and very accomadating. The only thing they would need would be a full bar in order to have a margarita with your food.

If I could give this place no stars I would but by default I have to give it 1 star. I went to this place based on the reviews below thinking this place might be good. How wrong was I. The place was kind of empty only 1 other table when we got there. I decided to try a little bit of everything, ordered their appetizers, 2 of their specials and horchata. The music was extremely loud though, very annoying. We waited about 45 mins and still no appetizers. I finished my drink by the time the guacamole came. She finally arrives with the appetizer and the order is wrong. I asked wheres the rest of the appetizers, she only bought a small guacamole. First off the lady was rude she tells us thats what you ordered a guac. I said no I ordered the large guac and beans and chips, and she starts arguing with me no you didn't I just heard guacamole and wouldn't correct the problem, the woman just walks away. After waiting that long for an appetizer I decided to just wait for the rest of the food and hope its better. Guess what this order was wrong too. But the lady refused to do anything about it. Perhaps if she would lower the music she might have heard the orders instead of getting everything wrong. I ate the food just to leave this place but it was so bad, it was greasy and had no flavor. This whole experience was disappointing. The food was horrible, service was even worst, and the time to get your food is ridiculous considering there was only one other table there. Maybe if the food was great I would consider going back but it was all so bad. There's no reason to go back. I will never go back to this place again.

Authentic Mexican food with daily $5 lunch specials.

Authentic! No more traveling to Homestead for great Mexican food when this is down the street. The drunken singer is a little too much to listen to throughout your meal but it definitely adds to the ambience. Lol

Authentic Mexican food with local ambiance. We started with guacamole. It was fresh and loaded with cilantro. Served with warm and fresh chips. I had the chicken enchiladas with verde sauce. (I am obviously not Mexican). The food was delicious and well seasoned. Not spicy by most standards, but it had a little kick to it. Served with rice and beans. My husband had the beef chile relleno. He said it was amazing. Comparable to what he use to get in Texas (not the TexMex stuff.) Only complaint was it took 30 minutes to get the check after our meal was cleared.

Was in search of authentic tamales and came across this little hidden gem. EXCELLENT!! This place did not let me down. Complementary Homemade chips and salsa were on point. The salsa verde was spicy and very flavorful. The tamales were freshly made and worth the wait. I will definitely be back.

This place has potential. I gave this place two shots before writing my review. The first visit I ordered a lunch special #4 with a beef taco and burrito, which came with a side of rice and beans. I ordered it to go, and it was apparent while I waited that this wasn't "fast food." No problem actually, as long as it is worth the wait. I wasn't wowed on the food on round one. My first problem was that the refried beans were not cooked all the way. I did appreciate that they made them there though, and thought I would give them another shot. My other issue, and I will emphasize that this is MY issue, was that the use of cilantro was overdone. I like cilantro in salsa, but not so much on the food. Let's say I prefer to control how much cilantro is in it. I think that is just my preference because of the way I grew up. I do realize that others will differ with me on this, but I am just pointing this out in case it matters to others like it does me. It wasn't such a big deal to remove that, which I did. And the meat was delicious and made me think this might work. I do also love that they use Crema (Mexican sour cream) on the side. I was able to put as much or little on my food as I wanted. So round two was the California burrito, which is basically everything inside the burrito. I love this style being from California. A thing I notice in Florida that I didn't experience in California is the frequent use of rice in burritos. I don't care for this, so rather than wait to see if Mi Fondita would put rice in theirs, I just preemptively asked to not put rice in this. So I can't say if they do normally, I didn't ask, I don't want to know...I just don't want it in mine. Sorry, not a fan of rice (not sorry). As for the burrito, I was glad that this time the beans were cooked. I liked the consistency of them and again, the meat was delicious and it even had bits of fat, which I love. No, it wasn't loaded with fat, but enough fat to make it flavorful and tender, not dried out and tough. Here's my problem with the burrito. It had a strange after taste along with the cilantro. I am not sure what the flavor was, but I guess it bothered me. I would take a bite and think, "oh that is good.." and then a second later, I would think, "What IS that?" It almost had a nutty flavor, I don't know. It just didn't work for me. I think this place has potential. To look at it from the outside, it's not much, but the inside is cute and festive even. They have a bar, but it looks like no liquor license yet. I think will try them again in a few months and see if things are better because I suspect they will be if they can stay in business. I want to give them 4 stars except for the prices (seem high for Mexican food) and the beans not being cooked. Service was pleasant.

most Authentic Mexican food I've had, it's a quiet little place, we ordered carne asada tacos, California Burrito and a side of guacamole. Amazing! They give you chips and salsa when you sit down and it was very flavorful and spicy. :) Food took a little a while even but was worth the wait.

The BEST Mexican restaurant in South Florida!! My husband and I are from California and restaurants like this one are on every corner- since moving here 4 years ago, it is the one comfort from home we miss terribly. My husband is Mexican and grew up on traditional Mexican food from his moms kitchen to his Nana's house. This little hideaway is a total WINNER and must get on the YELP map. From the friendly service, to the jukebox playing mariachi and traditional Mexican music our experience was really nice. The corn tortillas are homemade, fresh homemade salsa, and all the food is freshly cooked with authentic ingredients. I had the Chili Relleno w/ rice and beans. It was over the top good. My girlfriend ordered the carne asada tacos which were off the charts good as well- heaven to the taste buds!! My family will be back and going for breakfast on Friday!! Please give this family restaurant a chance. I promise you will NOT be disappointed!

I can understand if people are a bit intimidated by this place but they shouldn't. This is the authentic article at really affordable prices. I'm Mexican so I may be a bit biased but I can also vouch for the authenticity. Definitely not fine dining but that doesn't take away from the quality of the food. At times the music from the jukebox may get a bit loud but this is the singular drawback about this place. If you want some REAL Mexican Food at a great price, this is the place.
