Great food with excellent portions! Catering options are fantastic, and they are delicious. Had the vegetable lasagna with Caesar salad, chicken stir fry with vegetable medley, and marinated mojo pork with twice baked potatoes and tossed salad. All were great. Delivery was a ways on time, and staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely using them again.

I am so disappointed in the meat department at Doris Hollywood market. I was having a dinner party tonight and I got a couple of chicken yesterday for tonight party and when I opened the bag .... OMG yuck the smell of the disgusting chickens routing in the plastic bad...grosss. Just be careful when you want chicken for dinner, make sure you check them out it might save you a headache on your next dinner party.

Came for lunch today. This is an Italian market and bakery with a deli counter. The only seating is outside with about 4 tables. There is plenty of free street parking. I ordered the Italian Combo sub. I got it with the spicy crushed red pepper relish, lettuce tomato, pickle, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar. The sub was excellent, but next time I would ask for extra relish. My wife got one of the Jamaican beef patties and a rice ball. My daughter got a meatball and a potato pancake. Everything was delicious except for the potato pancake which my wife described as a McDonald's hashbrown. After lunch we grabbed a chocolate canoli from the bakery. Yum! The service was just okay. The lady that helped us at the counter was nice, but fairly incompetent. The cashiers were also quite slow. The prices at the deli and bakery are good, but the market is overpriced on a lot of items. I would very likely come back if in the area again.

I love the quality and service at the Hollywood store; I have not been to any of your other stores. I am not sure what why this changed on my last visit there but I am very disappointed. I recently moved from California to Hollywood, FL where I purchased a new home. It was 5:30 on a Saturday afternoon and they had already started breaking down for closing. There were 4 employees behind the counter and one in the back walk-in (who I could see through the window). There was one person placing an order with two of the employees helping him. One was taking the products out of the cases and the other wrapping his purchases. I thought that was odd because I recognize both as being regular meat dept. employees. The other two employees, regulars as well were breaking down the deli area. The one in the back was looking out the window leaning on something and there was no sign of activity the 30 minutes I was there. I did not take a number as I was the only person waiting. I waited patiently, and waited , and waited. After about ten minutes , the woman behind the counter said to me, "I'll be right with you". Soon another customer showed up and she waited. One of the other employees recognized her and came up to help her. I said "excuse me but I was here first and have been waiting for a while". The customer turned to me and said where is your number. I explained that I did not have one but that I was clearly waiting for some time before she had gotten there. She new I was there first because she was standing next to me. I told her that if it that important, she could go before me. I continued to wait. When the first customer was done, the woman taking care of him took off her gloves and started digging in her ear for something and went over to the deli case and started putting trays of food away. She never washed her hands. This is the same person that said she would be right with me. The second person that was wrapping the food for her went back to reading the newspaper. I continued to wait. Time seemed to be in slow motion. More time went by and finally the one reading the paper looked up and said "Have you been helped?". Mind you I was no more than a few feet away from him the whole time and I could see all that he was doing and he certainly had seen me. He took my order begrudgingly and it was completed in just a few minutes. Throughout this whole time, the person in the walk-in was watching everything going on. I think he might be a manager and I know he is a butcher. At no time did he make any attempt to help or ask someone to help me. I checked out with a lovely and friendly checkout person and left. I was there for 30 minutes in an empty store with plenty of employees to pick-up ten boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I am in your store in hollywood every weekend. I am a big believer in supporting local businesses because it is good for the local economy and they strive to deliver a better product as well as service. That has been my experience most of the time at Doris's. The service I received yesterday is as bad or worse than what you get at Winn-Dixie or Publix. Please tell me why I should continue support your business if your employees don't give a hoot. I have owned businesses all my life and I know how hard and expensive it is to get new customers and how easy it is to lose them too. Has Doris's gotten so large and comfortable that they can afford to treat customers with such disdain? I don't know who Doris is or was or even if she ever really existed. Someone started this business at one time and went to a lot of expense, effort and time to build it to where it is today. That sense of customer care has been lost. I say this because there were six employees including a manager behind the meat counter and one customer at the time I arrived. If the store hours are 9-6 the service should be the same from 9-6. You should put the customer first. When you open at 9, everything and everyone should be ready and before 6 the same. I want to continue to shop at Doris's and I want to experience the same level of service at 9:00, 12:00 and 5:30. Please tell me why I should want to go back?

Oh sweet Doris, driving through Hollywood and coming up on you made me a very happy lady yesterday morning. I never knew this was the original one at this location. It is much smaller than their other locations but hey I am not complaining. First stop the bakery for some fresh bread and my butter cookies that I enjoy so much. The lady at the counter was so friendly and helpful. I asked for a baguette and she asked if she can slice it for me. Super nice personal touch. Then we got some Parmesan cheese freshly grated, hot Italian giardineria, Italian sausage both sweet and hot, pasta salad, hot cappicola, and as I was checking out the wine I saw an end cap of Josh Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa. Say what? I knew this bottle well as it is the house wine over at the Hoxton Urban Beach Lounge. I had no idea how much it was but Doris had it on sale for $10. Yes I can be such a wine snob and honestly do not drink many bottles in this price range. But the quality of this wine is awesome and for this price. Wow, I felt so lucky. I grabbed four bottles, should have grabbed a case but I over did my wine purchases this weekend. The staff here are so friendly and very helpful with huge smiles on their face. Please I beg you come down to Miami. now that would be nice. Oh and the famous butter cookies with the red jelly in the middle, oh they are the BEST here, super fresh.
I've always enjoyed shopping in Doris' but my experience with their Deli dept was terrible. I bought a pound of turkey that was shredded and placed in a lump in my package. When I bought the food back, I was lectured by man in the deli dept who clearly didn't know anything about service or professionalism. This 'deli manager'(?) was unprofessional, rude and totally unaccommodating. Without even opening the package, this guy was making excuses about how all of their turkey falls apart. Give me a break! This guy was a total zip. The one bright light was a young man named Eric who couldn't have been more helpful and polite. I was give a full refund but not before I had to listen to the deli man try to explain his poor work. What a joke he was. I've never given a bad review to anyone but this Deli Dept needs a rehab. Someone needs to speak to them about how food should be served. I hope one of the owners of Doris reads this and speaks to their people, but Eric deserves a gold star.

I love shopping here it's the best meat market in town. They always take care of the customer like it's family. They carry all kinds of speciality pasta and have the freshest basil. You can smell it when you walk in. I highly recommend this place for all your meat shopping needs. You can't beat the prices and the quality.

Oh Doris' does a homesick Brooklyn girl's heart good. And today her Detroit man was invited to partake. He too caught the fever. I visit Doris' about 1ce a month. I get my fix of half sour pickles-just like the Waldbaums barrel when I was little. I like to just walk around the aisles and smell and take in the vibe. Lots of great old school brands...great Italian specialities as well as some great Jewish products that remind me of my gram and dinner prep on holidays. The deli counter was HOPPIN' today. Great looking blintzies and all sorts 'o goods. I got my bf a good old fashioned Italian hero. Naturally I had to do a modern tweak and have his hero put on a whole wheat wrap. Minus the gross mayo. Hey-no one's getting younger! I love that deli counter and sometimes the men behind the counter let me cut in line. I like that too. We got lots of goodies including yuuuummmmmyy Health Salad and some Finger cookies for him. If you're around that hood, hit it. You won't be sorry.

Waited to shop here for my Fourth of July meats and salads and the prices and meats were very good and the Greek pasta salad were great. The hot Italian and the sweet Italian sausage were great! Love this place

I love this deli. I'm a professional cook and I can find a lot of nice products here. I've been here many times. Unfortunately, had some bad experiences in the last week or so. I bought a small amount of chopped liver (always delicious) and it was sour and dry. It was old and unfortunately, it wasn't removed from the display. There were fresher balls of liver in the cold case (in front of mine) and the one I got shouldn't have stayed on that serving plate. Also, I bought some high end cheeses in the cheese case for a small party. The whole St.Andre cheese I bought was about 7 dollars. When I got home, I noticed it was 2 weeks past its due date. Naturally when I opened it, the outside was slightly wet and going orange, meaning the cheese is overripe and no longer in top shape. I couldn't return it because it was already late and they were closed and people were coming over. I cut away all the outside and served it seeing as it was still edible. I never check the dates on stuff at Doris' but I will from now on. I understand that things happen but it was too much at one time. Their cookie counter is fantastic and reminds me of all delis I grew up with in Montreal. I did return the liver and got a credit. I only have half the cheese left and I'll have to throw it away.

It pains me to write this. What the hell happened to this place? The tables out front were filled with homeless people. It has become a hangout for them. The go inside and buy beer then pour it into big-gulp cups to drink. The place is plain old dirty at this point. Not cluttered not cramped not messy, plain old dirty. The salads all look like they've been sitting in the case for days on end. The prepared foods look like dried out and tired. Half of the meat on display has a grey color to it. There were to lobsters in the tank, one was dead and floating the other almost. When I asked for ricotta salata the lady looked at me and said "ricotta what?". The Italian bread I was given was hard enough to hammer nails with. Maybe the owners are focusing on the fancier stores out west. But they need to come back to Hollywood and fix what's broken. This used to be the "goto" place for Italian goodies in east Hollywood. No more. Drive a little west and hit Mimi's and Gino's, you'll be happy you did.

Was recommended to come here. Bought the lasagna, eggplant pram, meatballs, cabbage rolls... Ended up throwing out the lasagna and cabbage rolls...did not taste right, not sure if it was old or had gone sour.. Eggplant Parm was very dry...had to add some tomato sauce to bring it to life. Meatballs were good. Didn't taste anything else here but would not recommend any of the above except the meatballs

I can't believe I haven't reviewed the Great Doris! But my mother in law from Oregon and a friend from Kansas City who came visiting recently reminded me of just how great this place is and I am truly lucky that it is just around the corner from our place. I have picked almost everything I needed in my kitchen for a meal from Doris before and that by itself says alot about how well stocked they are for a little place like this.My usual purchase(s) includes lemons (4 for a dollar),lettuce ( 99 cents),tomatoes (price has never exceeded 1.69 per pound),mixed peppers ( a dollar something compared to Publix's three dollar something per tray)...and while at it the bakery counter has loads to offer, loved the eclairs and creampuffs (minis at 80 cents each) and their lemon merengue pie is absolutely out of this world. I have to add that the MIL swears by their dill pickle over in their deli section and has bought it countless of times quoting it to be the best pickle she has ever had in her 68 years of life...need I say more?? So there, never leave Doris without the fresh produce, the pastries and the pickle and I know some would say the sandwiches and stuffs but to be fair I've only had their tuna sandwich once and it was pretty good I remembered, just that I needed to try the variety they have before making further recommendations.

Meats: mmm. The filets are excellent. We bought some for an anniversary dinner and valentines day, great quality, tasty. Bakery: YEAH! Pignoli cookies are to die for. Chocolate Beast Cake can be eaten with your hands. Strawberry Short Cake is fantastic for birthday parties...I can't say enough about how great the bakery is, yum tasty yum. Produce: not the best but sometimes can do for an eggplant. Wine: great selection. Olive Oil: great selection Deli: subs are delicious and there is fresh mozzarella in water. If you frequent it enough, the staff remembers you and is super friendly.

I can always count on a good, solid sandwich from Doris's. I love the back entry way to this place. You have to walk by the butchers station and something about it, is very... Good Fella's-esque. The deli here is always packed w people w thick NY/ New England accents and make sure to grab a number. The meats here are beautifl. BRIGHT red, and waiting to be taken home. I saw a while back that their butchers must have at least 10yr experience to work there... thats pretty cool. You know you have skilled people back there. The Bakery always produces really wonderful breads, cakes, and cookies, and Doris's has a nice selection of wine too! This place is great stop for almost everything on your list! * There is a free lot in the back, and on the main street, you have to pay. Enjoy!

This Doris has more of an old-school, Northeastern feel. Compared to their other locations (especially Coral Springs), this store is relatively cramped. No big deal, though. They have all the essentials: a small produce department, amazing deli, frozen foods, canned foods, a bakery, beer, wine and snacks. The big deal here is definitely the deli. You can get all the delicious ingredients for a killer antipasto plate, sliced by real, live New Yorker Italians. The sandwiches are amazing and feed your need for comfort food when you're starved. The prepared foods are great, too. For a small store, there are a ton of offerings - chicken & veal cutlets, eggplant, assorted salads, vegetables etc. The only thing they don't have is fish. The staff is friendly and the prices are decent. I just wish they were open later! I drive by on my way home from work and am always disappointed that they close at 5. The downtown Hollywood area is in serious need of a small, hassle-free alternative to Publix.

I got a great sandwich at this place. Typical rock solid Italian sandwich makers. You don't need to give them much instruction on a custom sandwich...they know what to do. I would go back in a heartbeat next time I am in town.

While hubby went next doors to the B & L Deli for a take out lunch, I went to Doris to buy a couple of things I needed for the office. This location is much much smaller than the one on Pines Blvd. but that doesn't take away from their excellent products, wonderful meats and great selection of sweets and breads. Unfortunately for me this time, I only needed some styrofoam cups for our coffee and some Splenda. Looking for the cups I discover that not only are they on top of one of the displays but they were totally out of my reach. So here comes Steve and, after asking him if there were cups anywhere else, he very nicely says "give me a minute" and off he goes. a few seconds later here comes Steve with a ladder and a smile to get my cups, isn't that awesome? I thought so. I take my cups and my splenda and go to the register where Michelle had a huge smile and a wish for a great afternoon.

I really love this place - the butcher specials are amazing and as others have said - you can really see what great quality you are getting. Like others I wish it was open later than 5pm b/c theres SUCH a difference between buying salmon and artichokes at Doris' vs Publix. I cannot wait to try something from their bakery, but every time I've been there I'm so overwhelmed by the offerings I cannot make a decision. I also want to try some of their take-away dinners and frozen raviolis.

I love this market. They have some great meats and product. The price is good. They have a good bakery. They do a generous take out sub. Some of their prepared foods are really well done. This is an institution here and worth a try or two.

High quality meats, and a great deli selection... all at prices that are comparable to Publix. We came to get food for a long weekend, ended up with two perfect NY strip and 1 rack of lamb chops. Their produce was also fresh and so cheap! We didn't have any problem getting our order on a Saturday afternoon, everyone behind the counter was very efficient. I actually tried their twice bake potatoes, i wouldn't suggest it.. although it was filled to the brim with potatoes there wasn't any other flavors in it. Yay for quality butchery!

My family has shopping been shopping at Doris's as long as I can remember. They've always had a fantastic selection of produce, baked goods, fresh meats, and deli options. I have to give Doris's and specifically, their catering manager, Donovan Santiago,a huge shout out because they recently went above & beyond in customer service. I no longer live in Florida but called Doris's to see about having a delivery made to my Mom ( a hollywood local), who was sick. Mr.Santiago was so patient, helpful, and friendly in helping me put together a care package with a bunch of different selections from their departments. That alone would have been notable-it's so rare to encounter a company that makes it's customers feel valued and well taken care of. But then Mr.Santiago went above & beyond. The the delivery driver had left for the day. Mr.Santiago called me back to let me know this and then told me that he was going to drop off the delivery -on his own time after he got off work- so that my Mom wouldn't have to wait another day. My Mom called me in tears because of how touched she was that someone would do that. Throughout the next week, she couldn't stop talking about how amazing the food was. My family and I were so incredibly grateful and absolutely blown away by Mr.Santiago's kindness and Doris's amazing food. We will continue to be loyal, lifelong customers.

One of my favorite joints down here in Hollywood. I went to school in the Bronx and since moving south I've really missed the neighborhood deli- until I found this place. Very knowledgable staff and great service. Obviously all the meats and cold salads are awesome too.

What a cosy sweet place. I had passed this Doris on Hollywood many times, and this time I hadn't had lunch yet, and remember there's a good deli at Doris. I've had their catering before. I immediately navigated my way to the back of the grocery store where you take a number and someone will help you buy raw meat, or ready made foods or salads and marinated items. There's a wine selection back there too. I saw the Boars Head sign and the types of sandwiches offered. Near the top my eyes stopped scrolling and knew the Ruben was for me. The lady making my Ruben asked if I wanted it on Rye or a sub.. Rye of course. I asked the lady if the bread was toasted she said No. Big fluffy pieces of rye bread smothered with thousand island dressing, sour kraut, and I saw she put the meat in the microwave and to melt the cheese.. I think they do the same at Publix? * There's no grill and no toaster The meat was thicker cuts and very tender. The pillowy rye bread made eating easy, and all together this was a Damn good sandwich. I took half home to my husband he loved it too. They use a jalapeno swiss cheese on the sandwich it just kicked it up a notch and made it yummy. I saw walking back through the store a nice produce section where I picked up very affordable items, I'm talking cheap! Facing the cash register is the bakery. The girls at the bakery were very friendly but I wasn't set on buying any sweets this time. Huge pastry display. The cashier Nancy was very friendly chatting with everyone and had a convo with me, she is a very sweet lady. Great Mom and Pop store, there's a yummy deli in the back, and I will be back to try out the meats, and the desserts.

I love Doris' Italian Market! I am blessed to live within walking distance of a DIM. The deli is always packed with fresh delicious food. I'm a regular for their lunch specials. I always go with an Italian hoagie. I can pretty much go down the list of all they have to offer, and tell you without a doubt it's all amazing. They have a small clearance section in the produce department. You can get a package of 2 peppers, couple tomatos, and maybe some green beans or onions thrown in for $1. It's cheap and you save something from going to waste. Gotta love it! Everyone is great, it's nice to see the same people working at the same place, it shows that they enjoy working there. Thanks for everything, I'm actually going to walk over now to see if they sell bagels :)

I've been going to Doris Market for a few years now and they USED TO always have fresh delicious food in the prepared food case. They used to be 4 or 5 stars. The last few times I've bought the prepared foods, they were already bad by the next day or by that evening (and I went straight home after shopping there!). I don't know if they are selling old food or something is wrong with their refrigerated case, but either way, it's happened too many times. It's a waste of money and such a disappointment to be hungry and anticipating a yummy meal, to then open the container and actually smell that the food is rotten!! It's a shame because there isn't anything else like it in this neighborhood and they used to be so good. Examine and smell what you buy before leaving the store! Their produce and bakery items are usually pretty good, though.

Doris' is a great Italian market with a little bit of everything. Boasting a bakery, meat counter, and deli, you will not leave without some kind of treat. They also have a few aisles of various goods, so you could actually do some serious grocery shopping here. They always have a ton of folks behind the counters, so service is always quick and painless. Their chicken salad from the deli is one of my favorite items, along with the fresh mozzarella. You can also pick up stuffed peppers, pasta salads, chicken parm, or order subs and sandwiches. They don't really have a spot to sit down and enjoy the yummies, so plan to take your items to go. Keep an eye out for their weekly menu, as they advertise specials on their products often. This is a great place to stock up on chicken, as it is cheaper if you buy more than 5 pounds. And be sure to hit the bakery for some Italian cookies or cream puffs! Yum!

When the Green Farmers Market is closed, and there is little option, Doris in Hollywood is a good bet to find everything you need for an awesome prepared meal or to cook a meal. The one issue is that they have little to no Seafood, and that's what we were planning to eat! So again great for everything else...but no Seafood section (had frozen stuff :( )

I'm so upset, I used to love this place but I don't know what's going on! I went today and bought some sauce and a pastry. The pastry which is called the lobster roll, was covered in the bottom with mold when I called the manager, he kept trying to shut me up then hung up on me! He told me to come in tomorrow but I live far so I'm not wasting $5 gas for a $3 pasty. See pics. Maybe now management will contact me.

Italian Deli in South Florida - Lots try - many fail - .. .Dori's is on the cusp of perfection but even its limited downfalls make this a nice stop when needing the quick Italian Item. Whether it be a prepared item from their two windows to the right of their deli counter - or their sandwiches which aside from the bread are huge, tasty and excellent or something from their meat counter everything is fresh here. It is a small market with limited isle space, some fresh vegetables in the front - some frozen pastas and prepared items on the side and a cheese freezer in one isle as well. Lots of prepared jarred sauces you can't get anywhere else along with a variety of boxed and bagged pastas not found in your standard grocery store. Meat counter is very extensive with some really nice looking cuts of meat and they will even slice your Rib Eye "Steak Sandwich" style if you call ahead they will freeze it and slice for you to cook like the boardwalk. Downside is bakery is weak - with not so great bread and cookies and cakes simply not up to snuff. All and all as South Florida Italian Deli's go very clean some parking in the back if busy on hollywood Blvd, and certainly a good selection of products not readily available elsewhere.

I've been here many times and each time has been a pleasant experience of food finds as well as friendly customer service. It's a small Italian Market in the classical term of the name. Here you will find a good selection of wines, some of the finest cuts of veal, excellent chicken; various frozen items produced in house, great sausages (particularly nice coppa) and other such items. For an Italian food shopping experience, it's one of the best.

My mom used to work in downtown Hollywood and she would always bring home fresh cheese and bread from here. Doris' has always had a nostalgic feel to me. This market is jammed packed with Italian goodies. They have a great selection of meats for CHEAP prices. They blow Publix right outta the water. Its worth a visit!

This particular visit was a 2.5 for me. I'm rounding up only because I do still have some appreciation for this place. I went specifically looking for ricotta salata. They are an Italian specialty store so it seemed like the best place to look. However after staring at the cheese section for 20mins I went to get help. The first person I asked gave me a blank stare back as if I had just asked him a calculus question. Luckily the second person came out to help and explained that they only get a small shipment of this cheese at a time and it looked as though they had run out. Trying to make the best of a waste of time I wandered over to look at the meats and prepared foods. The guy behind the counter asked if I wanted anything and I explained that I was just looking. I got the same blank stare out of him and he almost seemed annoyed that I was "browsing" in his section. It gave me an awkward feeling and I felt pressured to buy something. I opted for the stuffed cabbage rolls. $6.99 a lb and 4 pieces came just shy of 2lbs. Headed to the cashier I got sucked in to the bakery. Where I stood awkwardly again waiting for the lady behind the counter to slowly acknowledge me. Eventually she packaged the two éclairs I wanted - $1.75 each. Waiting to check out (with only one cashier working) I thought it was very friendly of the cashier to suggest a bread item to the guy in front of me. However this then sent him to the bakery lady where he waited for her attention and made my check out process extra slow. All in all the food was ok. I love cabbage rolls but I didn't find these superb. The bf loved them, but he hasn't had many cabbage rolls before lol. The éclairs were good, custard filled. I prefer a whipped cream filling, but that's just a personal preference. Parking here is a pain. There's lots of free spots out front on weekdays but backing out of these spots into Hollywood Blvd traffic is a pain. I've been to Doris before. I appreciate how cute it is, and that they do offer specialty items. I'll come back, but only if I'm looking for something I don't expect to find anywhere else.

Makes me feel Italian when I walk into Doris ,she's is a few blocks from the pad and the food is so good, throw ur diet out the door, the meats are so awesome always fresh and I always get advice and recipes from a old Italian that shops there .no lie its like a movie just a puertorican Italian version .the lasagna is very good and the meatball are a problem plus fresh cheeses , pepperoni ,and veggies. Its a little costly but worth the $$$ Doris I love uuuu

Mouth watering and delicious sandwiches! Lasagna is OFF THE CHAIN and MMM MMM GOOD!!! You can't go wrong here! Excellent!!!

(4)Gary Z.
I love this market. They have some great meats and product. The price is good. They have a good bakery. They do a generous take out sub. Some of their prepared foods are really well done. This is an institution here and worth a try or two.
(5)Jeremy R.
Victoria is the absolute best! Every time I go she makes my Italian combo sub just right. This place is a gem! Love it there.
(5)Liz N.

Wonderful Italian specialties... groceries, drinks, pastries, and cold cut\sandwitch from the Deli. ..yum!

I used to come here as a kid with my Dad back in the 70's I was just here today and had the chicken Parmigiana sandwich that was perfectly made by Lenny. The sandwich was really good and huge enough to share.

(5)Savoir F.
(2)Pam H.
Yum!
(4)Todd W.
(4)Kimberly P.

(4)Marqus R.
(4)Stephen S.
Great place for meats and cold cuts Great bakery You can find Italian specialties
(4)Lisa A.
