SO SAD! GONE WAYYYYY DOWN! For many years, this was THE place to go for a gyro or a sandwich, and a great value too. That was when they still had hard-working dedicated Greek cooks. No more. We went three times this year, disappointed each time. The restaurant has become grubby and dirty, and the staff careless. This time the gyro was the worst ever. The pita bread was okay, but the onions bitter and sour. The tomatoes were tasteless. The tzatziki was awful, watery, and bland, no longer rich and thick with strong flavor of cucumber and fresh garlic. The worst yet was the gyro (pressed lamb and beef) meat, which was dried up and burnt into crumbly black debris. The foundation of any Greek sandwich shop is it's gyro, and there's no excuse for this. It should never have been passed over the counter to us, and this is not the first time this year, either. Gyro meat is disgusting undercooked, and disgusting burnt. If it is done right it is delicious. The terrible cooks they have now (apparently zombies just off the line from a MacDonalds) burn and dry up the gyro loaf on the rotisserie, let it dry up further on the counter, then reheat/burn it more on the griddle. Just nasty, nasty, nasty. We also had a chicken gyro, also horrible. The chicken breast had been precooked and was dried up and tasteless, like a piece of balsa wood. The potato salad was mushy and tasteless, mashed potatoes with mayo and what looked like maybe flecks of powdered vegetable soup mix for a little seasoning. YUCK. Strangely, the grape leaves (dolmades) are still good, but all they are anyway is rice wrapped in grape leaves soaked in oil dressing -- hard to screw that up. Other people eating their sandwiches didn't seem very impressed, and one diner's sandwich was smelly and looked gross too. Unless we hear that they have fired everybody and get a good staff again, we are not setting foot in there again.

Went here for nice Family Lunch. BOGO always attracts customers its why we went, got the Gyro deal. You had to buy a side dish in order to get it. And of course an overpriced drink to wash it down.. Old dried Gyro meat, nasty warm T-sauce, big chunky onions, old tomatoes and a hard pita, tables where dirty, cashier was loud, rude and rushed everyone and is too over crowded with people just sitting in there drinking soda and chatting. Wasn't worth what we had to spend in there in total.

If you are looking for affordable good food, this is the place. Out of the million times I've been there they have never messed up my order and cooked everything the way I've asked. The Buy 1 Get 1 Gyros is a great deal and the italian sub is always perfect.

They're pretty good, and affordable. Some things better than others. Cheesesteaks do indeed rock, especially when BOGO. Other cold subs, not so much. Their bread is perma-dry, and they don't put very much of anything on them. Spanikopita is sometimes good, sometimes mediocre. But the fries are really good, especially if you don't like them too crispy(steak fry style).

This is owned by Greeks. The cooks were not Greek but they sure could cook really good. I had a corned beef sub that was out of this world. My friend had a rueben and a Gyro and was pleased. The place was packed!!!

it was just a random pit stop for some food and hey....pretty good cheese steaks! there is a place close to main street called downtown gyros and seafood..dont go there. there 2 for 1 is a scam ..they charge you over $11 and split the steak that should be in one sandwich into two... stick with this place...friendly service too

This place has changed and not for the better. I recently ordered a steak and cheese and there was so little meat on the sandwich I took it back to see if there was a mistake. They assured me that there was no mistake. The roll was more of a torpedo roll rather than a hoagie roll that you would expect to find with a cheese steak. Onion rings were nasty. Time to give Dinos up the road a try.

If you like your feet to stick to the floor then this is the place for you. Go to Dino's a few lights down. He has better deals and more buy one get ones everyday.

WHAT HAPPENED? I used to go here all of the time and the food was great. Now it's bland and borderline gross.

I get this food a lot because my boyfriend really likes it... I did get a chicken on a pita(that's all I order greek) it was good the sauce kind of lacked that thick consistency that I like but overall it was good. I also ordered a greek salad which was delicious good portion. the only thing I didn't like was a ot of the lettuce pieces were the white/yellow middle pieces(I like my salads green) weird cheese wrapped in some kind of leaves... seen something similar at publix called a grape leaf roll? not for me lol

This place is super divey-looking to me, and I never would've come here one my own. I was brought here, and I'm glad I was! I had a gyro sandwich that was possibly the best one I've ever had. The pita, the gyro meat, and the tzaziki sauce were on point. Their onion rings were pretty awesome too. The staff was nice, and the interior was surprisingly clean. I can't wait to come back and murder another gyro!

I haven't visited this place in over 10 years and every time I come back to my home town I head here for a gyro. They always give a great mix of sauce, onions, tomatoes. Pita bread holds up well and had a great texture and taste. Hope to see you all before another ten years.

Great Steak sub is fab, Gyro's are gynormous and very tasty. Living close to Tarpon Springs, I've tried a lot of folks gyro's, but Great Subs has the best in the area. Great value, has 2-for1 Gyro's on Monday

I finally got to try them out to see if they live up to the local hype. I ordered a tuna sub and fries. This is my benchmark for any sandwich place. If they can make a good tuna I usually find everything else is good (can't usually screw up cold cuts unless you cut them like slabs) The sub looked way overstuffed upon opening but it wasn't really--they do that annoying inside out thing where they put the lettuce, tomato and onion on the bottom, never understood that it makes the roll soggy! After maneuvering things around and removing some of the lettuce I tried the tuna. Wasn't bad except WAY TOO MUCH CELERY!! Totally ruined my enjoyment of it. I like a little crunch that's fine but tuna should not have the texture of Grape Nuts! It overpowered the whole thing, a shame really cause there was a good base to it, not too wet or dry or overmayoed. If they cut way back on the celery they'd have a good sub--and put it together in the proper order--cheese first, meat next then lettuce, tomato and onion. I will say their fries were very good crisp on the outside, tender on the inside and not greasy or oily tasting.
