They used to be really good. Was out of the area for few years and when came back decided to try again. Was horrible and no customer service. Waitress got upset when we told her the calzone we ordered was not good. The dough was raw on the inside and the ricotta cheese was cold. Was suppose to have ham. If you take one slice you get out of a package at the grocery store it was half. Ok one thing not much ham and you are paying for it. To have raw dough and cold ricotta cheese not good at all. She sent the owner who cooked the item over to our table. He was very rude and said this is the way we make them. Now they had already taken back to the kitchen never brought back or offered anything different and made us pay for the calzone. So we ended having to go somewhere else to eat, after we paid for a meal there!

Wonderful old school Italian restaurant. Everything we've tried has been exceptional. Anytime you find a featured vegetable on the menu, try it- usually well seasoned and fresh. Traditional Italian specialties plus great pizza makes this place hard to pass up if you favor Italian.

Good value, clean eat in, and service. A little slow and loud when slammed but that's expected with a small business like them. Garlic knots and hoagies are above average, pizza was on par but the Italian meals like Marsala just didn't have that deep rich flavor you'd get from a Italian sit down. That being said id recommend them for the pizza/subs casual nights.

Had the opportunity to visit this great location. I'm not sure why they have a couple of bad reviews, however I would have given a 5 star rating had the crust of my pizza was a bit softer. First, service is great, wonderful personality by the staff. they kept our drinks full, even though they had a full house. Second, we ordered the meat lovers pie, what a great flavored pizza. The only down fall was the crust was a bit hard, growing up in New England and New York they're missing it on the crust. If they can soften it s bit they'll have in my opinion one of the best pizzas in the Tampa area. I'll be back, this is great place, filled with locals, and locals know good places. Give it a try..

Having just 'retired" to Holiday, and knowing no one in the area, we are pretty much making our restaurant choices from yelp reviews and the menus published on-line. This restaurant is in a small strip mall, next to a nails shop. On another day we had peeked in the front windows to find the place full. To us, that is a good sign. Our 1st impression was very favorable. Wonderful decor, friendly staff to meet us, and wonderful smells coming out of the kitchen. The bright cheery waitress asked us almost immediately what she could get us to drink, and she was back in a flash with the drinks. We mentioned to her that we had gone as far as to look up the menu on their website. We were told, without going into great detail, that the menu on line is not a true choosing, and not put up by the restaurant. They are currently trying to get it taken down, but, it seems that the website is actually owned by someone else, and they will take it down for a price, an issue the owners are trying to get resolved. Bottom line, don't believe the online menu, BUT DO go in, the choices are so much better. The bread basket is wonderful, hot, french rolls are served with soft butter. The heat of the rolls completed the nice melting of the butter making this a wonderful beginning. We started with the Bruschetta appetizer. The Balsamic reduction served to complement the Bruschetta was wonderful and sweet. The crustines were toasted beautifully. Hubby loved the overall taste, for me, the tanginess of the red wine vinegar in the marinade for the Bruschetta topping was more than what I like (I am NOT a vinegar of any kind fan). The Caprese Salad was outstanding. The tomatoes fresh and firm, the mozzarella firm, fresh, and had a nice creaminess to it. The addition of green olives, and parmesan cheese cubes made this one of the Caprese Salads I have had in a long time. I will order it again. The soup/salad arrived. Hubbies split peas soup was thick and creamy, not pretty, but oh sooo good. I had ordered my salad with Blue Cheese dressing and no onions. It arrived with no onions, but also with a oil & vinegar dressing. Ooops, we all make mistakes. Our waitress promptly brought the correct salad. The waitress then asked hubby if he would like the salad as she really didn't like the idea of wasting food. He loved the oil and vinegar dressing. It seems that we are kinda stuck in a rutt. When we try a 'new' Italian restaurant, we both have our 'favorites' we order 1st. We use these as an overall standard to see where on our list of favorites this falls. Hubby ordered the Lasagne, this came with a 'side' of spaghetti with meat sauce. I ordered the Alfredo. My thought when the plates arrived was who was going to help eat all this???? The lasagne serving more than adequate for a large hungry man, and the side of spaghetti more than the main servings I have seen in other restaurants. Flavor on both of these was good, hubby brought both his leftover lasagene and speghetti home. (He does not usually take leftovers home, so it must have been good). I was pretty sure that I had been given a double serving of the Alfredo. This bowl was HUGE. As the menu states, the pasta was Al Dente, perfect. The Alfredo sause was smooth, creamy and tasty. Just so very much of it. I have enough 'leftovers' for a full serving. More hot out of the oven crusty rolls and soft butter were served with the meal. We completed out meal with Cannollis. The filling was smooth and creamy, a generous portion as well. This is right at the top of my list of best cannolis around. Our waitress paid enough attention to our talbe that she brought refills on our drinks when they were below the 1/2 gone level. Great attention to detail. Bottom line is that we WILL return. Take a large appetite and try this place out.

Yes, 5 stars - something I rarely give. I have been eating at this establishment for over 30 years. I have relatives who are snowbirds in nearby Pasco County. They will often tell me about some new (usually to them) pizza or Italian place they found that I HAVE to try. Most of them are gone. Angelo's is still here, now remodeled. There is a reason they are still around: they are about the best at what they do. I am a pizza nut. A fanatic. Angelo's gets it right. New York style right on the money. The sauce, the cheese, the crust - all superb. Baked right. The crust has the perfect crunch while remaining chewy. You want soft crust, then order Papa John's. (Couple of low-rated reviews have knocked the Sicilian style pizza. I have not had it; it isn't my preference. But it's supposed to be thick and chewy. It's made in a pan and topped simply.) I enjoy a good antipasto and a pizza. This is generally what I order here. My son and I are big eaters, and the antipasto for one was more than enough for two persons. The large sausage pizza, well we took home three slices. All for $25 including tax (we drink water). The antipasto here puts 99% of other places I've ordered the same to shame. Not just the quantity and price, but the sheer quality of the ingredients. Over the years we have had pasta and other dishes here. All are well prepared. Angelo's is my go-to Italian restaurant in this area. Probably going back tomorrow.

Awesome pizza! Great crust, sauce, lots of cheese, tasty pepperoni and the staff was very friendly. I also tried the baked ravioli and that was pretty damn amazing too. When the server told me they had Peroni on tap, I knew it was going to be a great dinner. Don't be fooled by the fact that this place is in a depressed-looking strip mall next to two dollar stores. Great restaurant with amazing food

I've lived in the area the last 12 years now and honestly this place has been hit and miss. Recently had their deep dish and wasn't impressed. The crust was just not up to snuff and it was honestly rather bland. We had a meats pizza and sincerely I couldn't get excited about it if I wanted to. Also on another occasion previously I had their NY style pizza and it wasn't too bad but again it lacked anything to make it stand our as a really great pizza. I do like the look of the place now that they have moved into a larger location but as far as pizza goes there are other places that stand out in the area.

I was eager to try this place after hearing from so many people, and reading the reviews, that this place is amazing... However, I was very disappointed when our Sicilian pizza had hard crust that wasn't even edible. You couldn't even bite into to. I had chicken roma, which was, eh. Nothing to remember. I did like the antipasto salad and they're dressing. And the tiramisu was bland, as well... I will probably give them another try. Hoping they're just trying to get used to the new location.

I have driven past this place for over 20 years and never stopped. When the Aldi next store opened up, I looked inside and saw a 60 seat restaurant that was very busy. I decided to try it the next time we are out Verdict? Hands down, the best Italian restaurant in Pasco County...not even close. When we sat down, I sampled the table grated Parmesan...That was the first indication...no Kraft cheese here. When the bread came out, that was the second indicator...fresh, crisp authentic italian bread. The dozen clams oreganato made me close my eyes and savor each bite. They are straight out of little Italy in NY. These aren't tiny little chopped up clams. They were fresh clams, a perfect size, not some tiny little clams. The antipasto for one, could serve two, and the quality of the meats was over the top..Fresh greens and marinated vegetable, and chunks of imported cheese. Wee ordered the Pasta Primavera special. The Al Dente penna combined with fresh sautéed vegetables, and light sauce, had us mmmmming with every bite. The ministrone soup was home made, had an abundance of flavor and vegetables. Wee shared it, and it vanished in just a couple of minutes. The pizza was the finishing touch. Just a medium plain cheese, but the crust was perfect, amount of cheese just right, and the sauce is to die for. They brought us out some garlic and oregano to sprinkle on it. The bill $54. I have spent $60 at the Olive Garden for generic uninteresting italian food. Wee will go back here again and again. The next time? When we don't want to blow $50.. A dozen clams oreganato, antipasto, bread....bill? About $20... The next big family meal will be there. By the way, my wife is a picky old italian.....her comment as she ate? "oh my god, oh my god!" That says it all!!! De Salud

The best pizza in holiday. Not cheap but definitely worth it. Garlic knots are off the charts, amazing!

The best. Friendly, huge portions, family recipes handed down for 3 generations. Pesce de Pasta with the light sauce is incredible. Whole cloves of garlic (roasted) can be lifted out of the broth and spread on the bread. Calamari rings arer so tender, I do not know how Angelo does it. Mussels and clams were great and I'm sure the shrimp was local Gulf pinks. Angelo's ......love it

Its a sad day for us... We visited Angelos Pizza to check out the new décor and have one of our favorite pizzas. We ordered and spent the next 15 minutes or more watching the pizza maker ( Manny) talk to a friend who was drinking beer at the pizza bar? I have never seen a set up where the person making pizzas is so distracted. He actually tossed a whole pizza dough right on the floor? I don't know what happened to it? We sat in amazement and even commented to the server that he hasn't stopped jabbering since we walked in. Our pizza came which as an Angelos special crispy crust cut in squares. All of the ingredients were piled up in the middle .The crust was so saturated with moisture that is was burned black but limp and wet. The taste was awful. It was like wet tar paper. Angelo happened to walk by our table. We asked him to look at the pizza and see if he found it acceptable. He did and said he would have no problem eating it. He said it was our fault because we ordered it. He said he would make a new one or we could just leave. We asked for our check even though we hadn't eaten it and she said that Angelo said good bye and we should leave. I can only take that as his way of telling us he doesn't need our business. New look...new attitude!

So far all I had was the New York style pizza very greasy but was really good compared to other pizza places especially the pizza chains like dominos or papa johns Angelo's pizza was by far better than those places and you get your money's worth

Don't let the strip mall location in Holiday scare you! This place is AMAZING. I have been coming to Angelo's for at least 20 years, and its always good. If you don't give them a try, you are missing out on some really amazing, REAL italian food. Tonight there were three of us, and we ordered two meals, a third salad, two bottled (Maretti) beers and a glass of red wine. Check was $47, and we have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Great home cooked food, amazing prices, and the owner is onsite! The Chicken Francese was two LARGE chicken breasts, not the skimpy ones from Carrabba's, and FULL of flavor. The lemon flavor was prefect, and we weren't left wondering if they forgotto add it like other places. The sausage and peppers was enough for 2, EASY. If somebody ate that entire meal, they should be ashamed of themselves! Plate was loaded with sausage and cut peppers in a red sauce, that begs you to lick the plate! I am guessing that's why they give you warm bread... The old standbys like pizza, calzones and strombolis are great too... More of that stuff goes out the door for takeout, than dine in customers. OK, so the location isn't that great, and leaves you wondering. But do yourself a favor and go visit Angelo.

Great pizza! I have lived in tampabay for 14 years and since I'm used to the pizza up north it's really hard to get good pizza. The Sicilian is great here and the thin pizza is incredible. Garlic knots are on point. Worth trying for anyone used to the real thing!

Having lived in Italy for 3 years, we were torn between a 2-3 star rating. New York style pizza was great! Pasta Carbonara sauce was thick and a little overwhelming. Veal Alba disappointing - veal was bland, the white wine sauce left to carry the weight of the world and it struggled to do that. The location could be a lot better - picked this restaurant because of the reviews but literally passed the place up twice because it is in a half empty strip mall. Although half were take out orders, it did have a steady audience at 6pm on a Thursday night so that says a lot. Based on staff greetings, the other half in house guests were regulars so they definitely have a loyal following.

Hubby & I ate here weekly for over a decade. Their chicken francese is ridiculously fantastic, but I was just as happy with a cheese pizza. For what its worth, the fact that they've had very little staff turn over tells me it must be a pretty good place to work too! I miss it a lot.

Place is great, definitely New york style pizza and italian restaurant. At least as good as the other local place(Gino's from Palm Harbor), but closer if you live up this way. About 11 bucks for a large cheese, garlic knots are also amazing, shaved garlic right on the knots, delish!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
