This place just popped up and its in a nice spot. Plenty of parking, and easy to find. The staff was very welcoming and t hey even let us in on the fact that they will be providing delivery within the next week, which is awesome. I had the pulled pork platter and a Sam Adams. Honestly, I felt the beer was overpriced but the meal was not. $7.25 and the portion was large. The pulled pork was great. Aside from that the group I was with ordered the grilled chicken breast, the 1/4 chicken, and the stuffed mac and cheese. The grilled and 1/4 chicken were both dry and the portions were small. The sweet potato fries were ok. The stuffed mac and cheese was absolutely delicious but the portion was tiny - it would be better if printed on the 'sides' portion of the menu as opposed to the 'entree'. All in all it was a satisfying meal at a great price. I would like to see them develope their menu a little more because its nothing out of this world but I had a pleasant experience and would probably come back because it is convenient and the place has a very warm, friendly ambiance.

This place is just mediocre. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but my wife and our kids were the only humans in the place except for the staff and they still managed to give my wife a chicken sandwich (that was actually not bad) when she had in fact ordered the burger. I got the stuffed mac and cheese with the pulled pork that didn't really taste like bbq; it was just passable. The corn bread was delicious though. It's kind of overpriced for the middle of Hialeah.

I must say, the service was the best I've had in any Hialeah restaurant. The place was empty on a Sunday afternoon around 12. Normally that is not a good sign. The dining area was very clean and the staff was cleaning when we arrived. The table and seats were all made from reclaimed wood pallets which I think looked great. The beer was 2 for 1 all after noon, big plus. We ordered ribs, Mac and cheese, baked beans. Also, an open face brisket sandwich on Texas toast topped with bacon bits, coleslaw and sour cream( no sour cream for Denver). The ribs to me were dry and tasted reheated. The baked beans tasted like they were out of a can and the Mac and cheese was kinda plain tasting. Ok, now that's out of the way...like I said the service was some of the best I've had in Hialeah and if you know anything about this area its hard to get good service. The open faced brisket sandwich was very good. The chicken strips and fries were great for the kids. And the 2 for 1 beers, were on point. I would go back and give them another shot with the ribs just because the staff was so good.

Good food, service and a solid selection of beers. Give it a a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised. Ask for Nikki when you get here. She's great!

The restaurant was nice and clean. The staff was attentive and friendly. The waitress answered our QS about the menu, and she also helped us with our food selection. The food was quite filling and it was delicious. :) We had the pulled pork sandwich with French fries and house coleslaw. I have zero complaints of the food, as everything was cooked perfectly. We are definitely returning!

I have lived here in Hialeah since 1958, and not since the historic Hitching Post BBQ restaurant on Okeechobee Road has Hialeah ever had a better quality of barbecue restaurant; although I have had better during multiple trips to the Carolinas. Let's remember Hialeah has Palacio de Jugos palate. We went there for the first time and were pleasantly greeted by what may have been one of the managers. He sat us down and went over the menu and spoke to us about their restaurant. Like the original Uncle Tom's in Coral Gables, this restaurant has a very diverse menu of southern barbeque specialties. We began with breaded okra and corn on the cob. The main dish consisted of a rib and chicken combo for my wife and a 3 meat rib, pulled pork and brisket dish for myself. The meats were very flavorful, juicy, and tender. My only complaint would be that I would have preferred to have my brisket without the house sauce on top. I would have preferred to put my own sauce on the brisket or just eat it as is. Each meal came with baked beans and coleslaw with a slice of Texas toast. I will definitely go again not only for the very good food and the variety, but for the great customer service experience. Thank you for bringing the historic Uncle Tom's to Hialeah. We needed this sort of BBQ quality.

BBQ is a foreign concept in Hialeah. This is not good BBQ. The sauce seems to be store bought Kraft sauce. The restaurant is clean, and the staff is friendly, but don't expect authentic BBQ here. Brisket is unrecognizable, ribs are only OK and pulled pork is more like "lechon asado" Pricing is expensive for a place in Hialeah. Portions are small, not a lot of bang for the buck here. Shorty's in Doral is better.

You already know I'm partial towards Hialeah. Its a city to call with progressing and the culinary mecca of Miami ;) I stopped by the new Palm Avenue location of this local chain the other day and while there are some hiccups that have to be worked out, I would say it's still a pretty good meal and a good restaurant. The great service, Hialeah vibe and making it right is why I'm bumping them to four stars. The menu is similar to their original Calle Ocho location, and here too you can notice the smokey aroma when you walk in. The decor is much newer, and a seat at the bar guarantees you a spot to catch the sports action (though MIami teams lately don't give you much reason to cheer). My favorite dish was the BBQ chicken, since the white meat was plentiful, smokey and tender. Do like I did and pair it with the sweet BBQ sauce. Their vinegar sauce will give you a nice spicy kick; try it on the fries! I've also had the spare ribs but those are a little on the greasy side and I didn't notice as much meat. Remind them if they miss a side dish, they'll make it right with a smile; that's been my experience. Sides are pretty good too, both the baked potato (which comes really loaded; I couldn't finish it the last time) and the corn on the cob. Make sure to ask for extra butter for the corn to keep the southern taste authentic. Free soda refills are always good too!

Uncle Tom has been around since 1948.....and now he's in Hialeah! First a lesson in Rib-o-logy... There are several methods by which most restaurants cook their ribs, two which are most popular. One is the low and slow bake method with a quick grill afterwards, the other is the low and slow smoke method (both can include a dry rub in the preparation process). The low and slow smoking method leaves the meat on the ribs firm and full of smoky delicious yummy goodness....but I digress. Uncle Tom's definitely uses the latter and not the former. If you are a fan of this method, I would definitely recommend Uncle Tom's as a place to go. My order this evening was a full rack of baby-back ribs, beans, and cornbread. This was a little a-la-carte, but well worth it for the mix of flavors and this review. Any respectable barbecue place should be able to make these three things effortlessly. The ribs were cooked well and you could see the smoky influence all the way through. The exterior was a bit more charred than what I would have liked, but not bad. I rate them a solid A-. The cornbread was actually better than I expected. It crumbled nicely and was perfectly buttery. It's cooked traditionally and from scratch. If you like cornbread, definitely order a side of it. As for the beans, they were ok, but not the best I've had. Overall I would rate this meal at three solid stars. Service was good and prompt, but the restaurant being new in the area, was empty. I would like to return on a busy night to see how well they perform under pressure. Prices are reasonable and with a little tweaking, you can get a great deal on a meal here. The real deals are the combo platters. Served with Cole Slaw, Fries, and Texas Toast, three are under $20.00; the classic sandwiches are all under $10.00 except the Bacon BBQ Burger that's just ninety-five cents more! Second lesson in Rib-o-logy... It's perfectly OK to suck your sauce coated fingers after eating these ribs. *PS - Tip in cash, but first wash your hands free of any sauces. No sticky dollars for these hard working servers please.

A random find ended a horrible week on a great note!! This place is a great change from all the Cuban cafeterias in the area. Best BBQ we've had, in a long time. The service was fabulous the waitress and the owner are great, helpful, and down to earth. You must have the street corn it's delicious and the sausage and churrasco were perfectly cooked and so very tasty. We will definitely be regulars here!

Before reading this updated review, please note, I never said their barbecue is bad. I have been on a mission to find a good burger here in Hialeah. Today I went to Uncle Tom's Solely to try their burger. As referenced in my original review, I have already tried their barbecue. Between the barbecue I had on that occasion and the burger I had today, the burger is better. In my opinion, of course. This restaurant "almost" got an upgrade on the stars after having that burger. Thing is, they forgot one thing on said burger, the bacon. Had I not been wearing hearing aids and sitting at the counter right by the kitchen, I would have questioned myself. But, I clearly heard the waitress specifically say, "Bacon BBQ Burger medium well" to the kitchen staff. The receipt, which I will update a picture of later, also confirms this. Honestly? I didn't bother to complain. I just ate it that way anyways and paid the bacon price. I was pretty hungry and had to eat. The meat on the burger was actually delicious. Not your typical perfectly round beef patty either. I asked to be sure. These are hand pressed into a burger in the kitchen. The burger was very good and I shall return to have another. Next time, however, I'm making sure there is bacon on it. I also wanted onion rings instead of fries. Nope, they don't do substitutions on their dishes. You have to get the fries and order an order of onion rings separately. Good thing I had to because the onion rings here are not "great." A flavorless batter on onions. You will live if you don't have onion rings here. She asked why I didn't eat them and I truthfully replied. THANKS for comping them off my bill. The customer service here is still the shining star. She remembered me from my first visit. The best burger EVER? WOE Kimosabe...hold your horse! Although I myself found the burger much better than their barbecue, it isn't "the BEST" I have had out there. Very good, though. Just make sure the kitchen adds the bacon. I still stand with three stars until proven otherwise. True Story (almost forgot to write this:) Both times that I have been here, a local from the area walks in inquiring about the restaurant in Spanish. Both times about what kind of food is served here. This time, though, the gentleman that walked-in specifically asked about Hispanic Dishes. HILARIOUS! Both times I sat fairly close to the register so I heard everything.

We strolled in on a Sunday evening as I wanted to stay near my neighborhood. It was very slow, we thought it was closed already. Nice staff told us about the specials and the popular menu items also why they are so slow. It is hidden and not well lot so one would drive by it without even paying attention. Decent selection and the price range was appropriate as well. Good came out promptly with a nice $3 Becks special was a pleasant combo. Pulled pork for me and my girlfriend had the brisket sandwich. The flavors were good, nothing spectacular. We went the next weekend as well and I tried their sausage combo plate which was really delicious, exceeded my expectations! All in all this place is pleasant and the staff are great too...a quick Bbq sandwich for dinner this place makes sense. Otherwise, for real and authentic I'd still suggest Brother Jimmys which hasn't been beaten yet by any other place since the 3 years I've lived in Florida.

Not the usual Uncle Toms I know. Good coleslaw, good churrasco , shredded pork was terrible, it was floating in water as if it was frozen and heated up. Baby backs were ok, didn't fall off the bone. Soggy fries. This place needs help.

I don't know how my coworkers coaxed me into coming here. I don't eat chicken, beef or pork. In places like this, I usually opt for sides or non meat appetizers. They have fried okra, corn nuggets, Mac n cheese which is what I ended up ordering. 2 appetizers and a side dish cost me $20! Let's start with the okra. I'm inclined to believe that I was eating fresh okra, freshly cut, breaded and then fried because the inside was crisp and green but tasted ok. The corn nuggets...I was expecting something more similar to hush puppies with pieces of corn within the breading but that's not what these were. They were gathered kernels of sweetened corn surrounded by a deep fried corn meal better. They were just okay as well. The sauce they served for both was a bbq/ranch mix. Not sure it was the best accompaniment for these dishes but it wasn't bad. Now for the Mac n cheese. Let me first say, I am a southern girl raised around women who can SLAY some macaroni and cheese! What I received was boiled pasta that had unmelted cheese sprinkled on top. There was also another sauce inside the dish but it wasn't really mixed into the pasta, it was kinda just poured on I guess. What I felt like I was eating was dry, cold unflavored pasta with some cold cheese and a weird cheese-ish sauce poured on. It just didn't do it for me. Soooo everything was just ok but I doubt I'll return. This place isn't for people like me. I just wish they had side like meatless baked beans, fresh leafy green veggies like cabbage or collards, fried zucchini, real oven baked mac n cheese, garlic potatoes, sweet potato casserole or something that would make for a real good veggie plate. Oh well.

Uncle Tom is solid in making BBQ. Had a smattering of baby backs, ribs, chicken and brisket. All were cooked evenly and not burned. We started with the corn nuggets and they were simply tasty fried nuggets of cream corn centers with a crunchy exterior. The restaurant is a la carte style, with a few combo plates, which we ordered from. The combos come with fries and coke slaw. The meat will definitely be the stars, no matter what you choose. My only complaint is that they only had one BBQ sauce, it is bland and tasted like ketchup. I guess my expectations for a BBQ place is good food and good sauce, when one is lacking it brings the over all experience down just a little bit. Service was good for lunch. We did have the home made flan. A nice ending to the meal.

Great food! Nice atmosphere! Great music, I would go there just to listen to the awesome music played. Staff is amazing . Sufficent parking, safe neighborhood and right across the street from Hialeah Race track & Casino, what else could you possibly want! Great rustic mood to dine in I give it 5 stars!!!

All 3 of us ordered the baby rack ribs which were nicely done. The corn was delicious as well as the sweet potato. The baked potato, not loaded, was good. Key lime pie was just okay. Service was good and friendly although one of the employees didnt seem to know much as he was never able to answer any of our questions. Will come back.

Okay so I am giving this spot two stars, one for the Mac and cheese and one for the French fries. We ordered the 3 meat meal; our meat choices were BBQ chicken, Baby Back Ribs and Brisket this comes with cole slaw and French fries. The brisket was very thinly sliced and lacked flavor. The ribs were not fall off the bone and we found them rather dry and they didn't taste freshly done. The BBQ chicken was fairly good, it reminded me some what of my grandfathers BBQ chicken. The coleslaw was good , the Mac and cheese was delicious ; smothered in cheese ( my fave topping). The location was perfect. Lots of parking and when you walk in the picnic wood style tables definitely give you the BBQ joint feel. Although when I walked in I didn't smell wood burning or fresh ribs on the grill but picked up more of a scent of gas. The service was decent but it could have been a little more attentive and informative. Our waitress finished her shift and left and never let us know. I don't see any reason to go back. I guess my search for some good down south BBQ will not be satisfied in Hialeah.

Nice experience. The food was fresh and tasty. Nice selection of Draft beers they even gave me two samples which I ended up ordering. I really liked the baked beans. Ordered an extra side. The staff was really friendly and outgoing. Ribs were grilled wish they were smoked instead bit being they're in Hialeah probably everyone would return them thinking they were undercooked. Nice experience, not overcrowded. I will definitely be back.

Good food and great customer service. Just opened and things are still being tweaked which is understandable. We ordered the 1/2 rack Baby Backs, corn, beans and incredible chicken wings. Food was plentyful and good. Is it the best BBQ ever? The answer is no but it's pretty good and the service was outstanding. This is the second time I visit and yes they have improved quite a bit. Hope they stick around since Hialeah really needed a good BBQ joint. Did I mention they are just across from the Hialeah Casino?

First let me start by saying the food was okay. My biggest issue was with the go order .I had half of the meal for there.I also ordered some items togo. When I took the food home I was missing half of my order. When I called to speak to the manager to explain to her that I was missing items. Her customer service was lacking. The key lime pie filling was extremely Gritty and grainy texture. I possibly might give it another shot but I'm not sure if it's worth the price of $40 for two entrées and one dessert
