Why you have your hours of operation limited is beyond me. Remember when we spoke and you had mentioned once upon a time you had a line waiting to find a seat inside? Well, expand your hours, especially being open on Sundays and this will once again happen. There is a hunger for this type of food in Hialeah. Times are limited from Monday-Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. I had the Pastrami Sandwich on Rye. Oh my goodness this was good. The meat was succulent, the rye bread toasted perfectly, horse radish and just enough Swiss cheese where I found myself using my hands to bring it back into my mouth. The sandwich is served with a side of home made mustard sauce for your sandwich and cole slaw. Cole slaw is sweet and just perfect. For dessert, the chef recommended I have the Hialeah Bar which I couldn't finish. Although small in size, it is filled with everything sweet one loves. The restaurant is exactly as described in other reviews. It was like going back in time to the Hialeah I grew-up in. It's time to re-think the days and hours of operation. Had you been open this Sunday, I would have brought half of my sister's Church here. Again, there is a hunger for American Food in Hialeah. Most people end-up going to Broward County. As much as I would want to, I can't say if I'll be back due to your business hours. I would have issued you five stars had it not been for this. The food and service alone are worth more than five stars. #KeepItLocal

Stephens is my daily go to place. Food is creative and fresh everyday. The owner Jack is the head chef and oversees that every dish is made to his standard. He really cares about the food and customers. I always go for their daily specials. The Mac and cheese is great and their seasonal salads are delicious. All their sandwiches are amazing and the soups are hearty. This is a gem in Hialeah. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Pastrami sandwiches are pretty good but other than that nothing stood out. The location isn't very appealing and neither is the look of the establishment outside. When we walked in the place it had a very old stench inside. There was a few comments specifying the cole slaw and it was ok but again didn't stand out to me. If it wasn't for the hot pastrami sandwich being pretty good i would of given this place 1 or maybe 2 stars, if i was feeling generous. I don't believe i will be back to this place again.

So I work a couple of blocks away from this establishment and my Jewish partner makes this place his office away from work. From the first moment he took me to this restaurant I was hooked. The food as others have spoken about is real good. Corned beef, pastrami sandwich, the Reuben( appetite is opening up as I'm typing now lol) all are amazing and savory, even down to the burgers. I was kind of in disbelief considering its in Hialeah and you're receiving good deli food. It's looks are nothing to brag about, but then again we're here for the sake of satisfying are hunger. Staff is friendly and polite. They bring you the usual coleslaw, bread while waiting for your meal.

Probably the last old school Jewish style deli left in Miami Dade County. While it will never live up to the rascal house, it is definitely a 4/5 stars restaurant just on the food. Their corned beef and pastrami is cured and smoked on site, and the sour pickles appear to be brined in the kitchen. The place looks like a 1950s diner and does resemble the rascal house decor. I've been here a few times and have not been disappointed. They are only open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday. The place is in the middle of an industrial area in Hialeah and who would have thought you could get a good corned beef sandwich in East Hialeah? The matzo ball soup was just OK but certainly edible. The coleslaw is good and of course they have Dr Browns available as any New York style deli should. If you happen to be in East Hialeah I would definitely recommend stopping at Stephens.

Great family atmosphere. It feels like it belongs in downtown. The breakfast is really good, and they deliver.

A slice of NY on pece of hevenly rye! A definite five star, this NYC Deli style is in a very unlikely place in the outskirts of Hailia in Miami. They start by bringing you a complementary coleslaw that brings the taste of NYC in every bite. I had the delicious pastrami and corned beef combo($8:95) that conbines everything that is good on a deli sanwich. My good friend had the classic ruben that was everything you should expect from an east coast sandwich. The meats are incredibly soft and socculant that they practically melt in your mouth. If you ever find yourself in Miami and are nostalgic for the east coast, don't miss this place, it will make you feel that you walked straight into your favorite deli.

The place is a gem in the middle of Hialeah between a residential and warehouse area. It's a throw back for sure, since it's been around since 1954. The place seems to be in a time warp for the right reason. Good New York style Deli food. The food is great and prices are great. Where else can you get freshly cooked and hand cut Corned beef and Pastrami at a reasonable price? Definitely at Stephens. I've been there now a few times and have been happy with the food and the service. Expect this to be exactly what it is: A Deli. Which means you may have to wait for the food as this is not McDonalds, although it is down the street from them if you are in a hurry. When you walk in you can sit down anywhere and you'll soon be greeted by one of their waiter/waitress. You get your drink order in and then they set before you a small bread basket, coleslaw and pickle spears. You'll order and get your food in a short amount of time. The soups have been awesome, they carry your normal chicken and noodle & Matzo Ball soup, plus they have one or two more daily soup available that is made from scratch each day. I can only tell you that the Corned Beef and Pastrami is great, fresh and hand cut for each sandwich. I've tried the combo, Reuben and Rachel Sandwiches and they were tasty, but definitely not for the calorie conscious person. I think I will try their freshly sliced turkey off the frame sandwich with gravy and mash potatoes the next time. They carry a nice salad selection for those people who are calorie conscious. They have a daily board of rotating specials as well. They make their own desserts there, although there is usually only one choice daily. Get the Ghiradeli brownies when they make it, because it is decadent and bite or two can satisfied me. Most items are under $10. Only open on Monday through Friday from 11ish to 3:30PM. Enjoy this New York style Deli oasis for a different experience in the middle of Hialeah.

A gem in the rough. Tucked away in Hialeah's Warehouse District, you will find a little taste of New York. Walk through its doors and be transported to an authentic kosher deli where whatever you order, you will not regret.

The grilled Rueben (corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut , thousand Island) the best I've ever had. Sometimes I try to pass this place and eat my healthy meals but I can't resist the deliciousness of this sandwich! EVERYTHING is homemade since 1954 for a reason. If you are ever in the area during the work week I strongly recommend you check this place out.

Re: Patrick W.'s review.. Thanks for nothing, guy. Hope your "anticipation" finally leads you to an actual visit. In the mean time, hand over that 'first to review' button, pal. Waitress Mary says this place has been open for more than 50 years, and it looks it. Lack of woo-hoo aesthetics equals cheap food, I guess. a.t. had a happy time here. When you go in you feel like you're not in Hialeah anymore. That's not a good or bad thing. Places like these are rare in this county, if they exist at all. I ate open-faced roast beef & mashed. It was a little plain, but it was probably supposed to be. Plate was loaded. Pro: Lots of food, lots of gravy. Good service. Uniqueness, per Hialeah. Con: Meatloaf only served on Tuesdays.

If you're in the neighborhood and wasn't a change of pace from the local croquetas or nacatamal, then please go to Stephens for good deli food.I was happy with my Patty melt and my friend raved about good grilled pastrami.Service was fast.Next stop breakfast. My only complaint; where are the pies displayed?

NewYork style deli? Pffftt!! this place is more like a Confederate honky tonk smack dab in the middle of Union territory. This gathered by the comments and attitudes of patrons and staff alike while I ate lunch there one sunny afternoon. No class, OK sandwiches, they have the lingo down but nothing like a NY deli or even a miami beach like deli, like wolfies and rascal house use to be in their hay day. Simply put and no racism intended by my comments but if patrons and staff are so derogatory about their location and the current population where they find their establishment why even conduct business there? Oh and slap on some paint on this place and the bathrooms, "Lord have mercy" the only New York this place has in it is Hells Kitchen soup kitchens circa 1918 AD. what a dump.
