"Hole in the wall" and/or "hidden gem" are an understatement to describe this "jewel" I was introduced to this morning. Never in one million years would you expect this restaurant to be in this area. It is located just one short block away, surrounded by nothing but warehouses, of Hialeah's Historic Seminola Subdivision. Once you walk inside, though, WOWZA! You will no longer know you are surrounded by bustling warehouses just outside. It is a gorgeous restaurant on the inside. There are several TVs throughout, plenty of seating and an expansive varied menu. I read on their Instagram Page, that is where I was told about this restaurant, they have a private lounge available to host any large event. The picture they posted referring to this on Instagram shows a large group from Mega TV. This restaurant isn't far from the studios of major Hispanic TV Networks so, it makes sense that they would come here to dine. Honestly? Other than warehouses, there aren't many dining choices nearby. I'm always looking for new places to have breakfast at. Out of all the meals in the day, breakfast is my favorite to have out and about. I love it. Love it love it love it. It was just before six in the morning when I was tagged about this restaurant. My first instinct was to see if they served breakfast. Some research online, saw some pictures and YUP, they serve breakfast. I was on my way. Normally I will order something typical of the country the restaurant represents. In this case it would have been something Cuban. But quickly I noticed they serve Perico here for breakfast. I love Perico first thing in the morning. It was perfect and filling. I uploaded a picture. Everything you will see there was only $4.25. No, that's not a typo. Four Dollars and Twenty Five Cents. Yeah man. They open early and near my home with good breakfast? I am so a fan! Things to note and blah, blah, blahs: * You know me by now. I think I'm hilarious. If you understood the 80s sarcastic reference to "Cocaine" but still don't know what I'm talking about, Perico is a Venezuelan style of making scrambled eggs. It's delicious. Scrambled with peppers and onions. I always order that when not at a Cuban Restaurant. They make it perfectly here. * I saw her preparing the morning quota for Cuban Toast. If you love butter, you will love it here. Not as pressed as most places, though. * Parking - May or may not be a challenge here. I was here before many of the warehouses opened so hard to tell. * This restaurant has a steady flow of walk-up customers from the surrounding warehouses to their outside window for small orders, e.g., toast, Colada, etc. * They boast on their Instagram Page how great their Cuban Food is. I can only speak for their breakfast which yes, indeed, it was very good and filling. Someone else needs to come here now and review their lunch/dinner items since I will be coming here, more likely than not, for breakfast only. * If you live nearby and in need of breakfast before going to work, now is the time to come here. I see them getting really busy in the near future when people find out about it. I was the only one dining here this morning. It was quick too. * Menu here is in español. You should be "ok" if you don't speak español here, however, getting up from the chair and walking around clucking like a chicken flapping your arms like wings to state you want chicken will help. THANKS Mr. DJ for telling me about this place this morning! You know who you is. Fun Fact: When Hialeah Park was being built in the 1920s, all the workers that were used that were of African Descent lived here. The only place they were allowed to live. Just a few blocks, that back then were in the middle of the Everglades. Those few blocks were named, Seminola. Smaller today in size and mostly Hispanic, though. Some of the names used at most of the sites there retain their African-American History. For example, Cotson Park and the churches still standing there. Look it up. It's an interesting read about Hialeah.
