here's the dilly on this place, afterhours food rating would be 3.3 on the I had too much to drink scale. Its basically a bang spot for the local Johnny laws that love easy "I just got here from havana" snatch.

Horrible traffic people that don't speak any type of English ( even after living in this county for 20 years) Chorro guys on every corner Oh Hialeah How I love thee. Of all of my favorite things about this city mine My favorite is the Food Spots and Epicentro Cafeteria is my main spot. Located off east 4th ave this little cafeteria has seen more of my business at 4am then lord knows what. As Janessa A. mentioned they make different flavors of Batidos ( Milkshakes) here My favorite being Trigo ( imagine drinking the cereal Smacks) they also make Mango Chocolate vanilla and papaya. The Pan con Bistec is always made fresh in front of your easy and at $5 it doesn't hurt ur pocket. Plus your sure to be full.

Hell yeah Epicentrlo rocks! I live about two blocks away from this place and I ignored the crap out if it. It has a horrible paint job, and it's crawling with shady people. I would have never walked in there if it wasn't for my boyfriend who very enthusiastically dragged me in there at about 4 am! "there's no way i'm eating here", i said. "this looks like it sucks" "You gotta try it!" he said. "I bet you'll love it!" I hate to admit it but he was right! I had a pan con lechon and i gobbled it up! I inhaled it! And i wasn't even hungry...You do have to watch out of the mayonnaise though. They slather that stuff on everything. Even the media noche, which pissed me off. Oh and they also make a big deal about the whole credit card thing. 10 dollars and up they say, i recommend walking in there with cash. But I love this joint anyway. I wake up in the middle of the night and walk here just for a little midnight munch all the time...

Epicentro has one of the best pan con bistec sandwiches ever!!! The best thing is that there open 24/7 and their super cheap. The pan con bistec is delicious. They prepare it quickly so you can devour it. lol. anyway... I've never tried anything else other than the shakes which are also very good, especially the mamey shakes. Well this place has a small cafeteria feel but other than that, if your looking for good cuban sandwiches this is the place to be.

Let me tell you this is Hialeah at its best!! Even though its located on the East side, this is the orginal placed for pan con bistec (steak standwich) and a killer bistec de pollo (chicken) They have another location on W 12 ave but its not the same. First off its open 24 hours literally you go there at 2 am there always open. The sandwiches are huge and only $5.00!!! I mean it is awesome if you want the o.g. sandwich which is pan con bistec it bring thick slices of cuban bread with palomilla steak served with lettuce, tomato, mayonaisse, grilled onions and the best part the little french fry chippy things like the pic nic sticks!! I personally Love the bistec de pollo whihc is the same thing except has grilled chicken that is huge piece of chicken breast that is so yummy, I only ask for No mayo cuz they overexxagerate and I hate mayonaise. They also have a good trigo which is a wheat shake that tastes just like sugar smacks cereal blended with milk and sugar to make a shake. I recommend!

Great prices, good food, but if you want attention you might need to ask for it, like most other places in Hialeah.

Look, just because I live in Hialeah and I'm "Mr. Keep it Local," I am not going to lie to you one bit. First off, and very important, the pictures that are posted on Yelp of the inside of this restaurant are not what it looks like. At least not as of today. Far from it actually. What you actually encounter upon entering is an aging restaurant with old tables, dilapidating formica on the counter and broken ceiling tiles. It doesn't look appetizing at all and maybe that's why I was so turned off by the joint. It looks ghetto on the inside. Long story short, after visiting today, I realized I had been to this restaurant before for Cuban Coffee. Never to the inside, though. I have always gone to their outside service window. For as long as I remember, their outside service window has always been very popular. Popular to the point that people will block traffic, get out of their car and order at the window. The whole time leaving their vehicle blocking traffic. But, that's besides the point. Today I ordered their Milanesa Chicken Steak, White Rice, Maduros and a Batido de Trigo. The steak was HUGE but, lacking in flavor. I like the way some other restaurants make it better. Some places will add tomato sauce and ham under the cheese. This being a dish inspired by Italy, the Hispanic Chicken Parmesan if you will, I kind of expect it. This one here was just a huge slab of breaded chicken with barely any cheese on it. My fault for not ordering something typically Cuban at a Cuban Restaurant. The black beans, however, were one of the best I've had at a restaurant. The Trigo Shake (puffed wheat) and Maduros were also perfect. So, don't order that here. If you're anything like me, you will be disappointed with their Milanesa Chicken Steak. Because their beans were good I'm assuming the looks of the joint just turned me off. It really looks ghetto on the inside. Again, the picture you see posted on here with the pretty tables is not what it looks like today. The maquinitas room upon entering with a pool table just gives it that extra ghetto touch. So this is what I'm going to do: I'm going to try their breakfast. They have a nice selection for breakfast. At some point I'm going to try their Frita as well. They claim on their menu it's the best out there. Because of the way the restaurant looks on the inside, however, I'm sticking to three stars. It really does look ghetto on the inside. Things to note and blah, blah, blahs: * They have two locations here in Hialeah. I will be trying the other one too. They can't be that bad if they have expanded. * The best thing they have going for them? They are open 24/7. * They deliver to the nearby areas. * Their prices are also very low in comparison to other restaurants serving the same food. * Their portions are fairly large. * Parking is in the back and it's very tight. Some street parking is available as well. * I can see this as a light night place when you're drunk and you don't want to go to Denny's because Denny's doesn't serve Cuban Food. I will update this review completely if anything just "WOWs" me in the future. For now, though, three stars is all they are getting. Again, the inside looks ghetto and run down.

After dropping off a friend at the airport in the wee hours of the morning I made my way to Hialeah for breakfast. I'd heard about Epicentro before so I knew this place was going to be simple. Luckily, sometimes simpe is exactly what the doctor ordered. The place is small and humble and has that pizza parlor red all over. I wanted breakfast and my friend suggested the $3 special. He should have warned me that it fills you up until lunch time. Cafe con leche, eggs, bacon, toast for $3 This is a Cuban diner with zero flash. Just cheap eats with a smile.

I've been here a few times, it's cafeteria food, at cafeteria prices. So the other day when we were thinking about quick food, I mentioned coming here. My boyfriend conservatively said, " I didn't want to tell you, but the last time we were there, there were maggots under the glass top of our table and I was covering them with the place mats so that you wouldn't notice." How sweet of him.

Its good if you need a 24 hr place to eat that's not Dennys or Rey's Pizza down the street. Food is ok. I'm a picky eater so I wasn't surprised when my order didn't really come as I had ordered it.

Food is good, the frita sandwhich is different than anywhere i have tried but pretty good. The waitress takes forever to bring the check.

HIALEAH!!!! A couple weeks ago, I told Maria that I ordered a pollo empanizado con moro y maduros at this place in Hialeah and that it was only $7 and some change ($10 in total because I tip well) and she was like "What!?!" Even though I have been coming here forever, I swear I didn't even know the name of the place until I looked it up on here and was pleasantly surprised to see some of my fellow Hialeahese people had already reviewed it... solid work team There was enough food that two people could have ate and would have needed to go for a lengthy walk afterwards The chicken was good and the fried bananas were really good but the moros are some of the best you can get at a restaurant (My old man makes the best rice in the world... for sure) Everything I have ever had here is pretty damn tasty, not the best in anything but good at everything Bonus - if you like video gaming machines that you can win points and somehow turn those points into cash... they have a room as soon as you walk in, to the right, dedicated to this family friendly activity

So, I am waiting for my barber to finish up the guy he's got at the chair and decide to grab a bite next door. Wow... 3 eggs, Bacon, fries, Cuban toast, and Cuban coffee.$3.75 priceless... Also entertained by old school cubans with their funny stories. Can't beat this joint. Hole in wall, but good food. Hialeah espeshial...

Came here because I was in the area and because my co-worker swore they make the best "pan con bistec". Wrong! I'm sorry but a good pan co bistec is usually toasted, we can all agree that a toasted sandwich is better than a non-toasted one. Epicentro's pan con bistec is eatable, it doesn't have that wow factor. It does the job of killing your hunger and that's about it. So far for me the best pan con bistec is at Enriqueta's. Oh yeah let me not forget to mention that minimum charge on a card is $10 like previously said. They also charge an extra 7% when using a card. I recommend you not to really make a trip to Epicentro, save the gas and money for something tastier and better.
