What can I say it's just another falafel joint, serving the same food as all the other falafel joints. I think if your in the area it's worth stopping at. The owner is a charming Israeli gent who wants to please his clientele. So don't be afraid to speak up if your not happy. All the items on the menu are no better or worse than any other falafel joint in the area. So give Benny a try.

The best Falafel in all of the United States. It tastes just like that in Israel. No place compares, trust me, I've tried most places here in South Florida. The shawarma is also to die for. Go early and get it before it runs out. All wholesome natural ingredients and not to mention the love that goes into it. You can just taste it!!!! The prices are also very reasonable.

The owner is very nice, gave me a few samples, the falafel was very good, fresh, crispy outside , one of the best I've had. I also had a chicken shawarma and the flavor was incredible!

Solid falafels.... not as good as Famous Pita on Stirling or Iztiks but very good... More choices going into the Falafel and a hotter hot sauce.

This was the first time me and my wife were trying shawarma. I've had greek/middle eastern food before, but she's a bit of a beginner. :) We loved it. The food is fresh, abundant, and the place is extremely casual. Great for a quick bite or to take out! We'll be back for sure.

If you are looking for authentic falafel this is the place! I lived in Israel for one summer and lived off of falafel and shwarma. When I came back to the states, I began the hunt for a good substitute. I stumbled upon this place on a Sunday afternoon. It is located in the back of a complex, right off of Hallandale Blvd. When you walk in, you'll see a couple of tables and a menu written with chalk on the back wall. You walk right up to the counter and place your order. GET THE FALAFEL; You get to watch the falafel being made fresh as you order it. They offer a wide selections of salads to add to your pita or plate (israeli salad, cabbage with mayo, red cabbage, taboulli, chickpea salad, grilled and fried eggplant, pickles, spicy stuff and more). When you ask for hummus and tahinni, they don't skimp either. Along the counter you can find plastic utensils, napkins, salt and pepper. Your handed your food in a small basket and seat yourself. They have a refrigerator with traditional malt, nectars, regular/diet sodas and ice teas. Every time I've been, Benny has been there! He is friendly and knows his stuff. After eating and licking off each one of your fingers, you can go up to the register to pay. I believe they take both cash and credit. This place doesn't have very much ambiance, but it is a great place for a quick meal. If you want authentic falafel, you have to stop by Benny's!

Food is great plus fresh pita is a plus. I looooove the chicken breast platter and the falafel is amazing. My husband orders the "etsy etsy " ( probably misspelled it) it's supposed to translate to half and half which is half Falafel and half shawarma pita.

This place was incredible, and the fact that it's a total hole in the wall, wins me over even more! I ordered a pita with half falafel, half shawarma and a bunch of delicious fix-ins. The taste was out of this world and the falafel was probably the best I've ever had. I've been day dreaming about my lunch all day... That's when you know it was better than good :)

Fabulous falafel and shawarma in Hallandale Beach! Really fresh and flavorful Israeli style food - accompanied by great healthy salads - my first time there I was offered samples of all of the entrees and loved them all. Benny could not have been nicer. Love this place and will be back again and again.

This used to be a favorite lunch stop but my experience today changed that. Went to lunch with two coworkers (two of us white, one black) and we all ordered the exact same thing. When it came time to pay, he charged one of us 25% more than the other two. Guess which one got up charged? I'd love to say it was an innocent mistake but I was there and it was not. #MakeaStand

Holy falafel & hummus, Benny where have you been my whole life??!!?!! When Benny tells you that you'll never find a better falafel and he saved you a ticket to Israel, the man ain't kidding. It's also no joke when he tells you that you'll be full until the next day! Falafel Benny is: -delicious -nutritious -a great option for carnivores and vegetarians alike! -a hidden gem -SUPER affordable A definite new favorite lunch stop in the area. Especially since Benny and his guy behind the counter are such characters.

Five Star Falafel! Benny is awesome and so is his falafel. And he's happy to tell you the latter. He acknowledged that one guy in NY is pretty good, but that's as far as he'd go. He's claiming best falafel anywhere, not just Florida or the US. I'm thinking a falafel throw down is in order. I came here with two work friends. They think I'm crazy for finding places like this, but they admit that I usually find good places (thanks Yelp!). Two of us got the falafel pitas, one got the chicken shawarma, and all three were very happy. The baklava we took to go made us even happier a couple of hours later. The scene is just plain funny. When Benny had enough of our questions he directed us to the "American" who was actually putting everything together. We got to pick what we wanted I our pita - I want to go back to try some different combinations. What I called Israeli kimchi and wasn't corrected is free for the taking. It's good, but I don't know what it is. Benny kept walking around the place yelling NEXT every so often to no one in particular. The crowd was primarily Israeli, but all are welcome. FYI - he'll do catering with a couple days notice. That's what he was doing before opening the shop three years ago. And no Amex.

If you have never been to Israel, and want a little taste of Israeli style food, this is the place to go, yes there are other Israeli Falafel places around, but this is the best one so far, I ordered Shawarma Pita with Hummus and it was very tasty, Benny and the staff are very friendly and you don't have to be Israeli to feel welcomed here. I highly recommend Falafel Benny Shalom!

Been searching for a good falafel spot in the area for years, and now it's here! Very simple hole in the wall place, from the reviews it seems it has been here for quite some time but I haven't had a chance to visit till today. We both ordered the falafel because, well, it's called Bennys falafel. It was very good, service was great, and the food was ready in under 5 minutes. The falafel was hot and crispy outside and nice and soft on the inside, just like it should be. I've heard the shawarma here is pretty amazing too but by the time we got there it was long gone. More of a reason to be back here for seconds! Great place overall, definitely recommend the falafel and will be back for the shawarma !

First time I came here was with a young lady and the falafels were very good. On my next visit I came alone and tried the shawarma.. Thru the course of making my sandwich I seemed to be cut in the order of production by another diner speaking in Hebrew. I sat and waited awhile as they served him before me. As Benny's assistant began to dress my sandwich, Benny began to tell me about this is exactly how the sandwiches are served in the markets of Israel and how great food is in the markets of Israel. I told him I had not been there and I was happy to not have to go so far for shawarma. I got a bit of a perplexed look and as I was paying he tried to speak to me in Hebrew, I think. Pretty sure that and the remarks on Israel were something of a putting out of feelers as to whether or not I am Jewish, which I'm not. When I got sandwich home i discovered the chicken was raw pink translucent in the center. Luckily don't seem to have gotten sick yet. I think Benny is looking to cater to a very particular chosen people. :(

Update. The owner Benny must think I'm stupid. I walked in and ordered two young chicken pita. He told chicken scharwna, I said no young chicken. He tried to tell me its the same thing. Yum city. The falafel here delicious, there is veritably no doubt. Still, there are problems that exist. When I left New York City for good back in 2010, falafel in a pita was $4. Here, in 2014, it's $7! So yes, this place is EXPENSIVE. Make no mistake about it, gas was also $4 in 2010 and now it is around $3.80 depending. And counter to what others on here will say, falafel isn't all that healthy (it is deep fried, after all. Am I right?). Okay, problems aside, the portion size here is very good. I am also a fan of their nice staff. I think Mr. Falafel Benny himself was at the cash register ringing me out. I do like that, if your meal is to stay, they let you sit and eat before paying the bill (even though the place is modeled in a very fast-food-like atmosphere). I also fancy the fact that they stock Mexican Coca-Cola. Summation: delicious, generous portions, happy atmosphere BUT overpriced and cannot be consumed with impunity contrary to popular belief. On a scale from "no way in hell" to "absolutely heavenly" I rank this establishment as "wholly authentic." That's somewhere on the high end, in case that isn't outwardly obvious. Save some coin and enjoy.

I'm Israeli American I love the food of my country. I went here on the recommendation from a friend. I don't want to hurt somebody's business especially a fellow Jew, but the food was mediocre at best, the restaurant was pretty dirty. Overpriced and the workers were strange,I apologize if I offended anyone but try it for yourself you might like it ,this is just my personal opinion. Thank you

I was in the mood for falafel; I did a search online, and I found this place. The falafel is great, and the service is even better. Place is clean, and people are friendly. I was offered free samples, and the wait wasn't long. The falafel was great, but the baklava was unbelievable!!! I am still dreaming about it; it was fresh, tasty, crunchy. You have to try it! I will be back soon.

Seriously don't know why this place doesn't have amazing reviews. So much better than all that chain crap people rave about. The food is so delicious and Benny is great. Special treat if he prepares your food. Falafels are delicious here. Try the shawarma (lamb and chicken)...young chicken has great reviews, too.

So glad I stopped in here. Grabbed lunch with my husband here this afternoon and food was absolutely delicious. I got the chicken shawarma in a pita with cucumbers, grilled peppers, red cabbage, hummus and tahini sauce plus the best part- mango curry sauce!! It was absolutely delicious. I'm in town for a few days and will absolutely stop by again. Additionally, the people there were very nice! If I lived in this area I would eat here all the time.

I love Mediterranean cuisine and have had trouble finding an authentic restaurant in SoFlo. I've driven past Falafel Benny's hundreds of times, but their hours made it tough to give it a try. Alas, I called and put in a pick-up order tonight and my mouth started watering right away. I knew it was going to be tough making it by their closing time of 6pm, but figured I'd chance it even though I had an anxious feeling of being late and keeping them waiting. I arrived at 6:08 and the gentleman at the counter (Benny, I presume?) was waiting for me with a big smile. He gave me soooo much extra meat because mine was the last order and he packed everything beautifully. He was curious about it being my first visit and was so friendly and hospitable. I ordered the lamb shawarma platter and a side of hummus. The price was great and the meal was OUTSTANDING, even as a carry-out order! The meat was so juicy and flavorful and all of the side dishes were great. There was so much food for one person, it was overwhelming! I can't wait to go back to this little slice of heaven and am so pleased to see all of the great reviews Benny's has received; truly well-deserved!!

Benny's food is on point. I come here for lunch all the time in a neighborhood with plenty of Middle Eastern food options. Best baba ganush I've ever had, incredible shawarma, delicious pitas, and really reasonable prices. I can't imagine being in the mood for Middle Eastern food, going to Benny's and being disappointed. As for the service and the intangibles, any regular of Benny's will tell you that it could be a really weird joint. Benny and his coworkers are characters,, memorable for both the right and wrong ways. If colorful personalities serving good food isn't your cup of tea, it might not be the place for you.

Best Israeli food I've had in South FL. It felt like being in Israel and Benny is a great and hospitable restauranteur. Had a falafel sandwich with everything in it and the falafels were some of the best I've had. Prices were inexpensive and a great value. Falafel Benny is another great Yelp find.
Falafel Benny is my favorite! I visit this falafel place at least every other week, being a vegetarian this is the best thing that i actually can eat and Benny makes traditional authentic falafels right in front of you! No watered down packaged falafels and Yes i have seen restaurant here in Miami serve that! ***** 5 stars for BenBen, truly a hidden Gem!

We sought out Falafel Benny because it seemed fast, reasonably priced. I hate mobbed overpriced kosher restaurants with crappy service. I've lived in Israel for a year or so, and this is pretty authentic. No frills. The place is kind of run-down and located in a sketchy parking lot (which makes it all the more a great dive) Menu is on a chalkboard, sparse decorations, and a lot of old israeli men sitting at small tables eating intently and silently (a good sign that this place is appreciated by people who probably know good middle eastern food) I don't want to bash Pita Plus, which is another kosher shwarama joint in Adventura, and is a little more shiny and pricy, but this seemed more down to earth and Benny was extremely accommodating. We ordered the falafel platter and the young chicken platter. The falafel was well seasoned. hot and fresh. so was the young chicken (tender, juicy, and generously portioned) and with a great selection of salads. They only served one pita with the platter, which is good if you're eating the big thing by yourself, but not enough if you're sharing, which is what we did. But really, with the salads and everything, the pita (which was fresh and soft) was not so important. Overall, great place...would come here again.

Fantastic food in a restaurant with tons of character. The lunch hour can be a little hectic - the staff is pumping out lunches quick so don't be indecisive. Not sure? Just tell them to make it their way. :) Not the cheapest lunch, but well worth it. Free samples if the wait is long.

This place has been around for about 9-months and the owner, Benny, is always there offering you food to try. The food is inexpensive and is a hidden gem. Hard to tell where they are, probably explains why they're never busy whenever i'm there. However, I told if thay they get really busy with a lunch crowd during the week. They've got tons of toppings to choose from - tabuoli, chick peas, eggplant, cabbages, humus, jalapenos, tomatoes, cucumber, spicy sauces, and the list goes on. The staff is always helpful in explaining what all the items and will even let you try them. Dont know what you want?! No problem! Just tell them what you dont like and they'll hook you up. I trust their choices and they never fail. The young chicken is super moist and flavorful. It's a must try!!! Make sure you go early, because they do run out of Shawarma (chicken and lamb). They've got lots of sitting and there's free wifi in the area. Not sure if it's theirs, but it works :) Great casual setting. Take you friends and family and just chill. If they served alcohol - I'd give them 6stars :)

Thank you

The chicken shawarma is wonderful. The different salads are fresh and full of flavor. They even let me try a free falafel. It was the best I ever had. The owner is really nice too. I will definitely be going back.

Great falafel! Owner made us a fresh batch when we came in. All the salads were fresh. They also have shawarma and schnitzel. Everything else looked very good. It's a real israélien experience, I would recommend this place.

Food was good I think we had higher expectations because of all the great reviews but it was average.

Having a bad meal is one thing, but my friend and I both felt horrible after eating here.

Great falafel but I gave Benny a $20 bill and he treated like a $10. So sad because the falafel was great! Enough said
