I have to say it is a beautiful restaurant. Wonderful food and serves with good price. Last, they have the most delicious bread love love love... Always come here for dinner, and never let me disappointed. The best in the town :)

The most rude hostesses in town. We used to be regular customers of this restaurant until we were rudely turned away due to asking for a table to accommodate our party rather than a booth. Instead of explaining they had a small portion of the restaurant open she proceeded to tell us she didn't have seating for us nor would she give us a wait time as an option. She just said "sorry, it's going to be a long time" in the most rude way possible. We had a handicap member of our party and the dismissive tone was absolutely uncalled for! We left and went to Outback who was very accommodating. We will not be going back there and will be letting everyone we talk to know how awful our experience was!

I don't understand the average ratings here! This is our favorite restaurant in Gainesville. What is there to criticize here? The service is fast and good, the peanuts are great, the dinner rolls are the best, the salad is fresh, the potatoes are always hot, the drinks are cheap, and the steaks are better than Outback's and I still order the prime rib because it's my favorite. Give it a try and I'll bet you agree.

This place was great! I got the pulled pork plate with mashed potatoes. It was super yummy and took half of it home cause the the portions are definitely Texas sized. The drinks are cheap too!!! I got 2 18 oz. Double margaritas for like $20!!!

What a pleasant surprise. After reading the Yelp reviews, we were only expecting a decent meal for a good price. We got fast, caring service, a great rib eye steak for a very reasonable price. Contrary to all of the reports of steaks being over cooked, we ordered "medium" and got "medium rare." The quality, tenderness, and favor of the steak was excellent. P.S. The grilled onions and mushroom option is deninately worth the price!

You are going to love the bread. I don't care for cinnamon so I'm not loving the butter so I just ask for regular butter. Get the rib eye. It is amazing. I've been there many times and I'm always pleased. Go you'll be happy.

Minus 3 points for a startling lack of Patrick Swayze. Minus 1 point for all the peanut shells on the floor. Haven't you people heard of BROOMS?!

Once when I lived in the dorms I had a craving for steak, but had no car. I got 2 friends to take 2 buses (we got on the wrong bus originally) to go to Texas Roadhouse. Rolls with honey butter, caesar salad, steak, baked potato, and a cherry coke taste better after a journey roughly equivalent to Frodo's in lord of the rings. Or maybe it was just the two hour detour from my freshman naivety that made me extra hungry. I also like to silently judge my friends that order non-steak entrees.

Very good rolls with honey butter. The ribs were very good too, was surprise the meat fell off the bone and wasn't dry. The place is pretty nice, came here with friends to watch games. Not sure why people are complaining about the shells, lot of "roadhouse" restaurants want ppl to toss shells on the ground.

  • Ellen S.

oh my goodness - I ate a 1/2 slab of ribs: the ribs melted off the bone and were delicious. My sweetie ate the prime rib (cooked rare - it came out just the way he likes it). He said it was fantastic. Service was great. We will definitely go back.

I don't really care that the food here isn't all that great, or that there are peanut shells every which way you look. I do care when I can see the cook squatting on the grill in his work clothes and shoes to clean something. If any of you know what the average cook wades through during his shift, you know why I'm grossed out. I knew there was a reason I didn't like this place. 0 stars.

The ribs are so good they'll make you want to slap your momma.

I am totally hooked on this place now. They start you off with some yeast rolls that are like the bread of heaven. ** take me now Lord!!** Anyways... dont know what is it about those chicken critters but they got me hooked on them. I always get the dinner and get some steak fries and chilli. Talking about chilli, they have some grrrrrreat chilli. Yum... got me hungry just thinking about it..... I may have some tonight.. lol.

Don't confuse Texas Roadhouse with any other "Roadhouse", including the rockin' 1989 movie with Patrick Swayze. It kicks as much ass, but in a different, more culinary way. First and foremost, the rolls which arrive at the table the same time you do are fantastic. You don't have to ask for them, they're omnipresent. They come with a small dish of cinnamon butter, and most people like that, but you don't need it. Eat them as-is. While you stuff your face with delicious rolls, enjoy glass after absurdly large glass of Coke. Pepsi can go to hell, Texas Roadhouse has Coke. By the time your basket of chicken strips arrives you'll be so full that you can only eat the french fries, and you'll have the chicken in a to-go box, please, and will eat it the next day by heating it in your toaster oven, and it will be every bit as good. Two meals in one, you can't beat that. Don't sit near the bar. If you can, sit in the southeast corner, or on the west side of the building, up the steps. Parking on a Friday or Saturday evening can be difficult, but there is always the Albertson's parking lot. They seem to have toned down the navel-baring waitress, but what're you going to do?

I like the seasoning on their steaks. They're marinated well. They just can't cook a steak medium. The yeast rolls are gooey and soft and are served with a side of cinnamon butter. You know how there are some places that make things you've had before tons, and tons of times, but somehow the way they make it turns out better? That's what I have to say about their side garden salad. There's just something about the way they combine the eggs, the iceberg lettuce, and cheese that makes this salad so good. I recommend it for everyone except those who are allergic to nuts. Yes, the get one less star for the messy peanut shells all over the floor. I almost always slip on one of those little suckers. Wait staff here is always friendly and cute.

This place sucks. Mediocre food. The bartenders couldn't mix drinks to save their lives. I've been to other Roadhouse restaurants all over the country but this one is the worst. Nuf said.

  • Connie C.

So if you are on a diet, don't go here! They have the best bread, but be careful because that can end up being all you eat they are THAT good! Plus the cinnamon butter doesn't help. They also have really good chicken fingers (they call then Chicken Critters, they have special seasonings in the batter) and you can get those as a dinner or on a salad. Their steaks are pretty good too. It is a fun atmosphere with the big tub of peanuts and you can just throw the shells on the floors. Always a good place for a good time.

Its decent. Not a big fan of the peanut shells on the floor. I am surprise someone hasn't broken their back slipping on them yet.

This is my third time ever going to Texas Roadhouse. So far 3 out of 3 has been awesome. What strives in that restauratnt its their service. Quick, on point, polite, they always know what its going on and always serve with a smile! Makes you feel welcome. Tonight, My friend and I went with for a dinner. Ordered the ribs with sirloin, fresh veggies and rice. It was awesome. The appetizer- potatoes skin was half price off b/c of happy hour. Anyhow, their best thing is always the fresh soft bread rolls and with cinnamon butter.. yumm and of course the free peanuts :-) Overall the reason why they didnt earned the 5 star is due to their food quality. I thought the sirloin was a mediocre sirloin - although it was cooked medium - it was not tendered. Ribs seemed to be overdone for hours... too soft. but Although the flavor of the food was quite tasty. But it is good enough for me to comeback next time with a friend to chill and eat dinner.

I have eaten at this chain several times, usually when I drive up to northern Florida or Georgia. It is fairly consistent, which is why I keep going back. The bread with cinnamon whipped butter is awesome. I always order the ribs (fall off the bone) and the sweet potato with caramel, cinnamon, and marshmallows. All are very good, so there is no reason to switch.

One night I was here and the food was horrible . My ribs were tough, probably over cooked. My brother his ribs were cold. My mom and dad ordered the salad didn't have much taste. The best thing in that stay was the bread. Probably won't go back.

4 and a half stars. Love this place! It's consistently pretty good and the service has always been friendly everytime i've gone. The prices are generally pretty good for the portions that you get. It's not the fanciest steakhouse, but it's damn good. It's good as soon as you walk in. The server will take you to your table with these amazing yeast buttered dinner rolls. The hot rolls come with this cinnamon butter that melts as soon as you spread it on the rolls (mouth waters) Whenever I go, I get the sirloin and ribs combo for $15.99. It comes with 2 sides as well (mashed potatoes, fries, beans, salads, etc) The sirloin steak is good. (I get it rare) The ribs are great too (baby backs). The sides can be a little underwhelming. The rice can be oily and salty at times, as well as the fries. The mashed potatoes are good, but can be dry at times. The ribeyes are good and so are the filet medallions. Overall, the food is fantastic, huge portions, and great prices. This place has peanut shells everywhere, but that's cause they've got buckets of em that you can eat. This place isn't the fanciest steakhouses, but for some good food with good friends, I think it's worth a visit.

If you like to shell peanuts go here. The rolls were greatand plentiful. My son had four. I had the chicken portabello and the guys had steaks. I had a side of green beans which were unedible. Service was attentive.

We were in Gainesville for a wedding and we needed to feed my 87 year old mother. It was crazy busy due to opening day for the Florida Gators but they got us right in. Drink orders were fast, waitress came back quick to take our order, food came out in a reasonable time, and the waitress kept our drinks full and checked on us a few times. Mom loved her chopped steak, my ribeye steak was good, wife liked her entre' as well. In and out in an hour on a busy Saturday night so no complaints. For what it's worth this place is almost identical to Jimmy Mac's Roadhouse which we have up in Seattle but I could not find anything online to link the two chains.

  • Bill G.

The bar staff is always friendly. The ribs are terrible. The ribeye can range from very good to below average. Yeah, the dreaded inconsistency problem. The last time I was there, I had a 24 ounce ribeye, and it even lacked consistency. The fat was burnt, which is a good thing, unless it's burnt too bad...as this was, then it's bitter. The rest of the steak was an adventure as some bites were exceptionally salty, whereas others were seasoned properly and others were bland. The bathrooms are more akin to what you'd find in a gas station; dirty and smelly. The rest of the restaurant needs some serious TLC, worn flooring, outdated decor, etc.

My family has been going here for years, whether it is for a birthday, mother's day, etc. Yes they are almost always packed. But for good reason! The food is great and decently priced. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and most are college students working hard for their money. Please ask to be seated with Kelly Turner if you get a chance. She is adorable and incredibly humble. She will make sure your stay is the best it can be.

Today I ordered a bone in ribeye cooked medium which is a warm pink center. It came out cold and raw red in the middle so I asked them to put it back on the grill. The manager came out and apologized with a new steak. Again just as raw and cold in the middle which the waiter noticed. The manager brought it back the 3rd time without staying anything and placed it abruptly on the table. It was overdone and dry which I ate at that point. Needless to say I am never going again and recommending to everyone I know not to go.

I've typically had good experiences at this roadhouse. I hate the new format where they sing and dance but the food is great and the rolls are amazing so we always order carry out and eat at home. Usually it's awesome. Big fan. This time we called ahead and were put on hold for a significant time. Someone finally took our order and told us our food would be ready in 25 minutes. We got groceries and made it to the restaurant in 30 minutes only to be told they didn't have our order. At first they acted like we were lying about calling ahead. When I showed them the recent call on my phone suddenly they remembered someone DID talk to me but they still lost our order and when we wanted to just leave and try our luck somewhere else, they insisted the food was already on the grill. "Ten minutes, max!" They did discount us on our order but we had to wait an additional 20 minutes for our food. It was extremely disappointing. I was very frustrated with our experience. Usually their restaurant is great for carry out, but when they go wrong they go really wrong. Also seriously, if anyone in your party gets stressed out by loud noises and has sensory issues do not eat in the restaurant. Get take out! The physical restaurant is extremely stressful and loud and there are peanuts everywhere. The food is good but the dining experience is awful if you're not aware of the singing, dancing, loud music, and peanuts everywhere.

My wife and I find TR to be a great overall restaurant for a "casual" evening - great social atmosphere with just enough privacy. The service is always friendly and fast. Great ambience and overall layout.

Being from Texas, this is exactly the kind of place I normally avoid. But this particular night, we had been at the hospital for three days straight, eating fast food, and I needed some protein. I want to start by pointing out that we were the jerks who walked in 15 minutes to closing. We didn't realize it until we were leaving and the employees we encountered never ever made us aware. There were no side-eyes or frustrated seatings. There were no absent waitresses. There was only top-notch, careful, kind service from start to finish. Bravo. Seriously. If I had been in their shoes, I wouldn't have been pleased. The food was really, really good. Nothing beats that honey butter, except maybe the sirloin I had. Perfectly seasoned and precise temperature. I was really impressed. Next time we're in Gainesville, we will definitely stop in.

We usually avoid chain restaurants like the plague and would never had gone here except the party we were with insisted. Even though it was 2:00 p.m. it was busy, meaning we had to wait for twenty minutes to be seated. Our server was polite and outgoing, earning an A- grade. I had the bacon cheeseburger with fries which was a big mistake. The burger was salted to the extreme. No excuse for this except poor training and lax management oversight. Our guests (the ones who insisted on this restaurant) were happy with the food. The two margaritas each consumed had absolutely nothing to do with it.

I would give this 2 stars, but I'm adding one because the manager was excellent and took care of the meal (as he should have) and truly seemed to care about getting things right. So, I arrived here with 4 other family members. The wait staff was kind enough and patient with my grandparents (who I'll admit were a bit confusing and can be very slow when it comes to ordering and deciding on food). My parents and I decided to go for the hand-picked steak, but the display wasn't out yet (we went there around 3pm, so I'm guessing they don't put the display up until dinner time, but that seems odd for a weekend). That being said, our party ordered 3 filets, 1 sirloin, and one meal I don't remember. The three filets all came out undercooked - severely undercooked. My medium rare was rare, my mother's medium came out between medium rare and rare, and my dad's well done was medium rare. My grandmother's sirloin was impossible to cut (probably just a bad cut, I've had sirloins at the restaurant before and they were fine). Also, out of 4 baked potatoes, only 1 was fresh and not old. My mother asked to speak to the manager, who had just walked in the door, and handled things wonderfully - he threw out all of the potatoes in the back (which, sadly, meant a 28-minute wait for new potatoes, so no one got a potato and instead had to go for other sides) and cooked 3 new steaks (I got my dad's, which was cooked to my taste). He also comped 4 of the meals, was very apologetic, and extremely attentive. That being said, messing up 4 peoples meals out of 5 isn't great, though I imagine the restaurant doesn't typically have these problems. It seemed like it was just a fluke, and I certainly hope it is, because everyone at other tables seemed happy, and I've eaten at some of the Georgia locations countless times. So yeah, if anything, I'd say it's generally a good restaurant, but it does have its screw-ups, and it seems we landed on a screw-up this time.

We made a last minute to pull off the interstate And try something new. I'm really glad we did! The parking lot is a little tight but it is nestled in a large plaza_so parking can be found! Because we had just gotten off the road and I didn't want to wait, we sat up at the bar. Our bartender was extremely friendly. I was not driving so I was able to have some wine. The wine selection is not large---it's pretty small but I was able to find something to drink. We both ordered salads which were very tasty! The croutons were yummy!!!!! My only complaint, there could have been more lettuce. We decided to split a full rack of ribs. When I say fall off the bone......that's exactly what they did!! While they are not the type of ribs you will find at some old school BBQ whole in the wall----but I am telling you_they are good!!

Had a very solid meal here: chili and the salmon entree. Have to say the salmon was expertly cooked and the chili was above average. The environment is also pretty good. Service was a bit impersonal, but it didn't take away from the experience.

What... Did... I just eat? People actually come here for food? Like please for the love of God do not order the prime rib unless you like spewing an endless stream of diarrhea. It comes out a disgusting luke-warm soggy piece of gristle. I'm blown away that somehow 7 minutes after me and my girlfriend ordered our food it comes out and it's barely above room temperature. Both my prime rib and the ribeye looked like they had been pre cooked and had been sitting for half an hour before being carelessly thrown on a plate and brought to our table. I do not understand how this place stays in business serving such garbage food. 0/10 will not ever go again. Save your money and your bowels by staying far away from this crap hole. Try Outback our Chilis instead. You're Welcome.

Texas Roadhouse is by far my favorite place in Gainesville! I highly reccomend the filet (largest size is 18 oz, which I always get), with a side of loaded mashed and mushrooms. I usually add an extra side of mushrooms with that because I love it so much! I haven't found any other restaurant that has that good of a steak. I used to order salmon, which is equally as good. But then I got the salmon undercooked, which i equate to being raw, and it scarred me from ever ordering salmon again. There is very little parking in the parking lot, so I reccomend either getting there as close 6 as possible (if for dinner), or else you will need to park across the street at publix. The staff is super friendly as well, almost like they all want to be your friends. Sometimes, they all get together and do this square dance which is really funny because you can tell some people are so miserable about it.

This is mine and my girlfriends favorite place. Its casual and has a great atmosphere. The service is always stellar, and the wait staff has an awesome attitude that has remained pretty consistent with each visit. The quality and taste of the food in relation to the price is phenomenal. I went to Embers grill last night and was surprised to find that a fine dining place, founded for its steaks, didnt even come close to touching Texas Roadhouse. unbelievable to me. There is only 2 downsides: They sing to birthday patrons which is just annoying to hear in the middle of dinner, they dont have a very wide selection of bourbon choices. Texas Roadhouse: USDA Choice 11oz Fillet, Med Rare, ($13.99) - full flavor, melt in mouth Embers: 10oz NY Strip, Med Rare, ($38.00) - no flavor, mediocre consistency TRH Steak literally has Embers beat by a mile in taste and price.

This seemed like your average American restaurant. I was visiting my brother, and he decided he wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse. We had a party of five and arrived at 4:30 PM on Saturday during a bye week. The parking lot was already crazy. We were seated with no wait. Our server was nice enough, but she seemed really frazzled. She forgot our refills a few times before finally bringing them out. I ordered the grilled shrimp and asked for the butter sauce on the side. I don't know whether they left it off or just added it on, but there was no side of butter sauce. The rice was really salty and mushy. The shrimp was cooked very nicely. Given the number of chain restaurants in the area, I wouldn't foreclose coming here again. I'll just be sure to ask for less salt on my food. I just wish there was a bigger variety of local restaurants in the area.

If you are reading this review and are wondering whether you should eat here... EAT HERE. I come here a few times a month, and the food is always wonderful. Once you are seated, you are given the most delicious bread rolls in the world. Aside from being warm and soft, they give you this whipped cinnamon butter with the bread that is to die for. Aside from the bread, they have peanut baskets on the table so you can munch away while you choose what to order. The menus are already on the table. The drinks can be a little expensive as they don't have the best drink specials, but the Razzlenake drink with a "kicker" always hits the spot for me. I won't give a rating on the drink specials though because it is more a restaurant than a bar. I always order the 6 oz medium rare sirloin with loaded sweet potato mash (amazing! I save it for a dessert) and a salad. As a previous reviewer said, sometimes the temperatures of the meat are a little off, but that is once in a blue moon and they fix it right away. The steak is delicious and well seasoned. If you come for lunch you can get the sirloin and two sides for $8.99. It's a steal! The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the last couple times I went my servers were professional, but not too friendly. Also, the last time I went, they didn't clean out the peanut tray from the previous party and I stuck my hand in the used, chewed peanut shells..... It's okay! Still a fan. TL;DR - amazing bread, good prices, razzlesnake drink is delicious, and get the sirloin medium rare.

My go to casual steakhouse. It's not cheap but certainly not expensive. I always get the bone-in ribeye. It's what I eat at any steakhouse I go to. Service is always quick here and they have some great tasting peanuts. Their bread rolls are complimented with an addictive cinnamon butter which I love. The only thing I can possibly complain about this chain is that the cooks are sometimes off with the cooking temperatures. I like to order my steak medium. More often than not, I get the perfect steak but I have also had times where I got a medium rare or medium well. The consistency isn't always there. All in all, this is still a good casual chain and I will go back when I feel like eating a casual steak. For an awesome (upscale) dining experience and some good steaks, head over to Ember's. It's the best Gainesville got as far as steaks go.

I rarely come into town with out stopping by "Old Faithful" they never let me down. I'm pretty sure the main reason we insist on coming here is so that we can each eat a basket of bread by ourselves. My one complaint is the hamburger buns.... They are always stale and fall apart every single time. Although I love the burger I just hate fighting with the bun. Steaks are delicious and the loaded sweet potato is to die for. They also have pretty good drinks.

By far the worst experience I've ever had from a steak house. I ordered the 16 ounce Sirloin with mashed potatoes and a Sam Adams with lemon water on the side. I had mushrooms on top of my sirloin. For at least 6 hours now, I have not been able to stop wanting to puke and having to use the bathroom from diarrhea. I'm experiencing extreme stomach pain and nausea. I'm getting teary eyed as well. Want to get sick? Want some good ol' food poisoning? Be my guest!

The fluffy yeast rolls soaked in cinnamon butter will do me in one day. Roadhouse actually gives the rolls time to rise, thank goodness. Even if we arrive here at 5:00pm on the spot with all of the early birds, they are already slammed with customers. I recommend parking behind the building because the tiny parking lot on the side is just a wreck waiting to happen. I used to be a big steak and potatoes girl, that was before I knew any better. After I traveled and learned more about the world, steaks don't even come to mind when I think of food. However, for my family, steaks are a way of life. This is a bucket-o-peanuts and country music establishment. Nuff said! If I had my choice of steak in Gainesville, this is where I go because they serve the best rib-eye steak in my opinion. I am one of those terrible people that prefers fatty meats to be crispy instead of jiggly, so I enjoy their rib-eye medium well. The thin cut of the meat here provides the greatest amount of crispy fatty bits. The mashed potatoes are hearty and the gravy is decent, skins included. They now have fried sliced pickles covered in Cajun seasoned batter, so my intake of scary things goes on overload when I visit. They have a pretty good happy hour on weekdays with $2.50 margaritas, two of those should do any normal sized person in. I'll stick with the sweet tea.

This is your best option for a reasonably priced decent steak in Gainesville. Yes including cooking it yourself - no one but fresh market seems to sell a filet mignon worth buying and even that's hit or miss. Anyways, despite this being one of the better options in the Gainesville area that isn't overpriced on a food quality to cost ratio, the service is consistently substandard. Anticipate having to ask for the items you've ordered several times before getting them and having to correct your bill.

Considering that this was a chain of sorts I wasn't expecting a whole lot coming in, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Both times I went, the service was great, the waiting staff and hosts always very polite and friendly. I've had steaks at both very expensive places and the run-of-the-mill Outback type locations. Having had the sirloin and the rib-eye, I was literally shocked by how good it was, the seasoning was perfect and every side dish complemented the steaks very well. The entire meal was fantastic. Considering I'd gone for a very early dinner the first time, and had eaten just a little while prior, I wasn't expecting to finish my meal, but the taste kept me going and I had dessert too! I will definitely be coming back when time permits.

This place keeps it real. It's not the best food you'll ever have, but it's good food, and they give you more than any reasonable person should eat. I'm fairly certain every entree starts at 4000 calories and just rapidly increases from there. If you're hoping to watch your weight, this is not the place for you, unless you want to see your waistline expand in real time like you're Eddie Murphy in The Nutty Professor. The best thing they have here is those soft dinner rolls with the cinnamon butter. These may clog your arteries, but it's WORTH IT. I ate approximately 30 of these, and I have no regrets. The pulled BBQ was good, but nothing better than what you can get at Adam's Rib Co. Remember to ask for more BBQ sauce because it comes dry, which is kind of stupid to me, but what do I know? I think 30 dinner rolls is a viable appetizer option. The service was very good, my glass was always full, and anything I needed the waiter brought it ASAP. I didn't drink any beer or liquor, but the specials looked good. Overall, if you want to eat at a casual place with good service, and you're not expecting the moon then this place is as good as any.

There is a special place in my heart for Texas Roadhouse! I love this place. The ambience: It's pretty good, I definitely prefer to be to the left past the bar in the back dining room. The service: I've never had bad service here, the 10+ times I've been there in a year. The food: I generally order my steaks medium well for fear they'll be dried out otherwise, but I love my steak well, here that isn't a problem, I order my NY Strip well done, it is tender regardless. I love the cheese fries, and the onion. The verdict: I love this place and will continue to go back time and time again.

Come to the following middle class steakhouse if you like any of the following: Biscuits with cinnamon butter, endless supply of peanuts, crisp coca-cola, great service, large portion sizes, fillet medallions, etc.

After being on the road for a while and eating fast food, I needed a good meal. I got one here! The wait was short and the staff was attentive and friendly. The peanuts are fun. I got the grilled salmon and it was cooked just right, and delicious! The food came out fast (thank goodness, I was starving) and I finished the plate. I wish there was one closer to me. It was great.

Love the ribs here, best in town so far! Mashed potatoes make a fantastic side!

I grew up on red meat, in fact our family had our own cattle that we sent to the great pasture in the sky, and we got to be in our own heaven after eating them. Therefore I am picky about where I go for steaks. Texas Roadhouse, is where I head too when I want that fix. Its inexpensive, and they cook the meat perfectly. I usually get the 10 oz sirloin cooked RARE, Im talking run it through a warm room rare. It comes with 2 sides, and I usually get a salad and either a baked potato or the green beans. You can get the potato "loaded" for a few cents more and their version of loaded is cheese and bacon. Ive had better loads of laundry, but its still really good. They have both A1 and their own steak sauce at the table, I prefer Texas Roadhouses brand, its got more spices in it. The atmosphere is pure country, fake cactus, wood interior. You get a Bucket O'peanuts , and warm yeasty rolls with cinnamon butter. They only seem to hire brunettes to waitress, and I have never had a guy wait on me before, which i find a bit strange! We went on UF graduation weekend and got seated immediately (there were only two of us), and we got our food quickly. I know there are other places to go around Gville for steaks, like a fake australian kangaroo topiary place, and Local joints that are hidden within strip malls, but I prefer a steakhouse that is going to be consistent and affordable.

Service 2 stars Food 3 to 3.5 a little to salty One of the better chains, I like this place much better tan Codys just down on Archer. Similar theme better food.

I had the oven baked chicken and it was so so good! Vegetables are so flavorful! All of the portions are huge! Customer service wasn't anything spectacular, but it wasn't horrible. I would highly recommend this place for just the food alone. Definitely doesn't taste like a chain brand restaurant.

I'm a fan. The very best hamburger I have ever had in Gainesville, I had here. Sadly, they had some rule in place, and won't cook 'medium rare' anymore, and all you can get is medium. That's a huge shame since they have beautiful beef. This policy cost them a fourth star... If I could get that burger every time, they'd probably eventually get 5 stars from me.... The sides are great, the service good and the salads yummy. The peanut shells I could do without, but I get that that is part of the schtick.

So I get the whole "we're a trendy, Texas stylin' kinda place, toss yer peanut shells on the floor, put yer boots on the chairs and get comfy" shtick; it's not like you won't find it in fifty theme restaurants across the country. It's a chain, for heaven's sake. What I do expect from a place like this are standards. Not necessarily anything exceptional, but basic service standards. What I got was overcooked steaks so salty they were inedible, veg the same, mac and cheese from a box badly cooked that even the hungry toddler would not eat, and the amazing vanishing server. Literally called the front desk from my mobile to tell them we had a problem and wanted a manager. Skip.

I would give 5 stars if I was only basing on food, however since service is part of dining out. Went last night and we did not get the yummy rolls until after our dinner, yet watched several tables who arrived after us get theirs. Also I got the wrong meal so ended up taking my meat home since everyone else was done by the time it was corrected. But the fod is usually good.

My previous experiences at Texas Roadhouse were decent but Megan, our server, was EXCELLENT. She came by to check up on us numerous times and made sure our stay was pleasant. She was friendly and brought anything requested out pronto. Service like hers deserve a minimum of 25%. As far as food, I ordered the 6 oz Sirloin lunch deal with 2 sides for $7.99 (house salad and steamed veggies). Even though the Sirloin came out small (as expected after grilling) I was still very stuff after finishing everything. If my past experiences had been as awesome as Megan, I would give Texas Roadhouse 5 stars.

Crappy service. This time I ordered a steak Med and it came back *church voice* Welllll!! So tough and dry. I ended up taking it home and giving it to the dog! My mashed potatoes were cold and the mac & cheese my daughter ordered was just a quarter of a box of watered down Kraft! And the menu says "Cheesiest Mac in town." Um news flash... For something to be cheesy it should have cheese in it! But I do have to give it to them, they serve up a very tasty Caesar salad. Small, but tasty. Plus the bread and cinnamon butter is mmm mmm good. Aaaand u can throw peanut shells on the floor. So... 2 stars

Texas Roadhouse is predictable.... relatively cheap and basic steaks and sides. At this location, the amount of peanut shells on the floor was a bit much... I mean it looked like they just purposefully sprinkled the shells all over the restaurant to make a 2 inch layer that you wade through while you make your way to the table. The bread they serve as a starter is always great.... salads are too... the steaks are pretty decent, and if not, there is always A-1 sauce! The most disappointing aspect was the mashed potatoes.... dry and bland. It's good for large family meals or an easy night out.

Predictably good food and almost always good service. The wait is usually not long. Kids night is awesome with plenty of entertainment for little ones including crafts, games and desert treats, kids meal for a great price. If you are out with friends, the drinks are quickly brought out to the table, several beers on tap. Always plenty of water or tea to the table -without- having to tell the wait staff. Of course the food is a wee bit to salty. The bread is always hot and tasty. Salad is pretty run of the mill but they make their own croutons so they are always crunchy. If you are tired of a steak cooked just right, you can go for the baked chicken which is also pretty good. The chicken strips have a thick but crunchy batter on them so take one away from the kids right away. They are fine with sharing a plate if you aren't too hungry, also with splitting up checks. Don't take your first date here, but definitely the kids or the friends!

steak not cooked to order. had to wait for someone to staff the hostess stand and seat us. our waitress was courteous. all food came out at the exact same time. good thing she had a phenomenal booty, otherwise this would be a two star experience.

This is a regular destination for my family because of the consistent meal quality, reasonable prices, and generally competent service. Great values include the sandwiches, the small steak, and the veggie plate. The side salads are huge and the croutons are my absolute favorite part of the meal. (We order extra!) Between the unlimited bread and the big side salads, we always have a spare meal to take home. One caveat--there are few low-cal options. Even the veggie choices only include two actual vegetables other than the aforementioned salad. Oh! The manager/owner is a great guy--he supports local schools!

Those breads are to die for. They are always hot and I eat too many of them before the main dish arrives. They have good steak and great side dishes. The steak are well seasoned and the side dishes are very tasty. They use more spices than other steak restaurants I've been to. If you like rice, they have very good rice as a side dish. They area almost always busy so always go early.

Average seems to be the theme here I have eaten here several times and again last night. Ive eaten their ribs, chicken salads, BBQ chicken, country fried chicken. NY strip steak.... just about a little of everything and I've never been very impressed with the food but it keeps me coming back. They have an appetizer that is similar to Outbacks "bloomin onion", they call it the "cactus blossom". I like them both equally. they are different in there own ways but both taste good. Service is just.... Average. Not bad, not great. Its fairly inexpensive as well. Bottom line- Like I said, it keeps bringing me back. Just don't go there expecting the best food and service ever. I still recommend eating there to people and continue to eat there myself. I've never had a bad experience, at the same time I've never been seriously impressed **** one thing- PARKING IS A BITCH... I drive a large truck and sometimes parking can be a nightmare, sometimes I have to park across the street and walk. No big inconvenience though

I used to like this place a lot, but after messing my steaks a few times, I don't like it anymore. I ordered medium rare last time, and they brought a almost well done piece of meat. Their green beans contains bacon, and it tastes nasty, don't order it.
