I have seen this place when I was passing by it and thought that one day I will give it a try and I did. The previous post gives a good explanation on their menu. Their food is not that expensive for the portion that they give. The first time I went there I got the fried oysters, they were really good and big. The second time I went there I took a friend to try it since I told him it was good, I got the fried oysters again because they were so good the first time and I also got fried gizzards to go because my bf wanted some. I'm not a fan of gizzards because I find them to have an odd taste, but I tried a piece of their gizzards and I'm surprised that I liked it. The batter that they used made it taste very good. I was disappointed with my oysters when I got them the second time, they were small and didn't taste fresh or as good as the first time which is why I'm giving a one less star. I'm going back one day when I'm craving for wings to try their wings. I bet they wouldn't be so bad because they seem like they know how to fry stuff.

has some good vegetarian sides to munch on. Their fries were stale but their corn nuggets were out of this world!!! Little fried pieces of heaven stuffed with sweet corn. I don't know who came up with this, but they did good.

Still a great place for wings. They are top-notch. Shrimp arent bad (but kinda small). However, the shakes aren't that great. The steamed crabs are whole crabs, so if you're thinking it's just the legs (like i did), be ready to work. But compared to Wingzone and other places, the 20 wings and 20 shrimp deal for $20 is still hard to beat.

I have been here three or four times. So this is a compilation of two or three visits. Got a shrimp and oyster combo. I think it was around $9. About 6-8 nice size shrimp and about 8 small to large oysters, cole slaw, hush puppies and fries. The shrimp and oysters were excellent. They both had a corn meal batter/fry which was well seasoned, but not too salty. I didn't use any sauce at all(except ketchup on fries), make sure you ask for extra sauces/ketchup. The cole slaw wasn't anything special, nor were the fries. The hushpuppies were good, nothing real special, but I ate them first. I think I forgot what they were truly like b/c I enjoyed the shrimp and oysters so much. Portion size was pretty fair. Blue crabs I grew up eating blue crabs, I love them steamed and whole. They deliver perfectly. I have been places that purposely rip off the claws.... not this place. They were all there, although a couple had fallen off and were in the bag. The crabs are varying in size, but it seems they try to fairly dish them out. Pricing is fair, six for eight dollars. They charge more for seasoning (less than a dollar). Pricing is very fair, since it would cost you the same or more to buy them live locally. I got them three times so far.... steamed only (my favorite), garlic pepper and old bay. They also have a couple of more, like lemon pepper. They also have snow crabs...haven't had. Wings Best in Gainesville. Period. There are some good wings around Gainesville, but they are always nice sized, cooked to order and perfectly sauced. They get the best in Gainesville for those qualities and consistency. A lot of the sports bars will throw some old ones/small ones/etc on you.... not here. Pricing is consistently low (20 for 11 or 12), unlike the sports bars, where it is best to catch them on a "special night". They serve wings with individual naturally fresh sauces, a nice touch. I have had medium a couple of times and lemon pepper buffalo a couple of times... Location Its a good thing it is so far away from me.... Takeout only location. I walked up to the window recently and peeked inside, very cramped but as clean as it could be for such cramped quarters. The menu is too large and specials are all over the place. My suggestion would be too look at their website or facebook page before going the first time. There are coupons/specials on there. You can also walk up to the window. Next time my head will explode with the large menu choices....and I like too much. However, I will skip the platters and go straight for the 24 shrimp/$10 deal.

I have been here many times since it opened. I always get the same few items, so I am unable to comment extensively on their menu. 24 shimp for $9.99. These are always good. The only problem is, there is no telling how big they will be from day to day. Sometimes they are HUGE. Sometimes they are small. They are always fried to perfection. 20 wings for $9.99. These are hands down, some of the best wings in Gainesville. They are big. I get the milder sauce. Not really a traditional buffalo sauce. It is spicey and tangy and just plain old yummy. Service is always friendly and the owner is a hoot.

We were on the east side of town for the kids Touch a Truck event. Having just heard Chunky's added Gyros to their menu, and since I love Gyros we decided to drop by. We got the meet the owner Jamal who's very nice. He talked to me about the menu changes he's made adding grilled items thus his new revised business name change adding the grill to the name. He also added a new sit in dine in area, which is a really nice addition. For those who know Chunky's as a drive thru only, they now have an inside eat area that's very nice and very new and clean. Great decision by Jamal to add this on. We ordered two gyros, a greek salad, shrimp and chicken tenders meal. Prices here are great. the quality show in the taste. When I spoke with Jamal he said he orders the higher quality gyro meat at the 80% lamb 20% beef ratio. saying its a much better combo than some other places in town that order the 50/50 or less quality gyro meat. It's came fresh of the rotating spit. Mmmm good. You can truly tell the owner is trying to do great quality with great prices. Highly suggest trying their wings or shrimp. They fry their seafood and chicken separately so they don't get cross flavors mixed. Glad to see a local business doing so well and turning out some good food. The eastside is really turning out some great food place. Chunky's is a solid 4 stars.

Got three different items to go and everything traveled great. Nothing was soggy or cold and we live 15 minutes away from them. Love the fries!

Wellllllllll - we knew this would be hit or miss. We ordered several items (shrimp, gator, and a few other things) and it all tasted like deep fried 'the same item'. We didn't finish much of anything.

Had a gyro and fries. They were excellent. Highly recommended. The food was cooked to order. Did not take long to come out but you could tell it wasn't under a heat lamp. Reasonably priced.

Not too bad for fast-food drive thru Few noteworthy comments: I ordered shrimp & oysters and got shrimp & scallops. Shrimp was slightly overlooked (chewy) They didn't poke good holes in takeout so fries were soggy when I got to them Hush puppies and slaw were pretty good Scallops were decent (and not over cooked) Overall, I was satisfied. I got a menu, so I may return I'm pretty sure I have left several reviews and they're not all here. Anyway, shrimp, oysters, conch fritters today (9/16/13). Excellent!
