High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

One of the better burgers in town. Given the size of the burger, you don't really need a side, but if you do, know that those are huge too. The fries are enough to share between two people. The onion rings are enough to share between four people. Each ring is roughly the diameter of a frisbee.

First things first. You do not have to be hipster to eat here. It doesn't even help to have done something before it was cool. Don't get me started on other places in Gainesville, Florida. Now that's out of the way... Yes, you're kinda paying for all natural burgers. However, you're not paying more than you would to have a really good burger elsewhere. And if you do, you're probably not getting this kind of quality. I really enjoyed the logo burned into the top of my burger bun. It was just gimmicky enough to be interesting without being kitchy. In any case, if you do give it a go, you'll likely wind up telling people, "that was a damn fine burger!"

BurgerFi is a somewhat-upscale burger chain. The idea is great, but I was a bit less than impressed. For one, the level of franchise-specific program is a little much: the staff has certain things they have to parrot back to you about the all-natural beef and so forth, and I got the feeling that honestly, if the management could replace the ample front of house staff with robots they certainly would. (Not even joking, once the technology is there, we'll see this in restaurants--especially ones like BurgerFi where they script what the staff says to the point a robot would be better at it anyways.) The experience felt like something very impersonal trying to be personal and it was a bit weird. As to the food, I would not say it's overpriced but the portions--I had the double cheeseburger--are pretty small. Yes, a small burger. Too small a burger. The fries order (regular size) was too large in contrast and I was not impressed with the quality of the fries--they tasted a bit burnt, really. The burger was very good though, just not enough. There are a number of seasonings to add to the fries but unlike Hiro, where they are free, here they cost about 27¢ each. Not much, but annoying in contrast to Hiro and other places. The interior is very pretty (welcoming, alluring, whatever: it's nice) and the food came out promptly. I think BurgerFi will be successful, but to me it feels impersonal and bland, plus too-small burgers aren't fun.

I was honestly debating rating this 3 stars, instead of 4, b/c the prices do seem a little steep. However, I came to the conclusion that the quality of ingredients warrants a higher price. If you want a cheaper burger, sure, go to McDonalds or even 5 guys. But I don't think they use grass-fed beef (if you want to know why it's so much better for you, google it, I'm not an expert). I got a double bacon cheeseburger, double based on what people said about the burgers being on the small side, although I would posit that they are, in fact, "normal" in size. The double was more than enough to fill me up. The burger itself, was very tasty; the right blend of salty, cheesy, and bacon. Getting a craving just thinking about it.....is it a flavor you can get at any other burger joint in town? No. It's nothing ground breaking (some have compared this chain to Shake Shack, but from what I can see, shake shack is better). Is it a good/decent burger? Absolutely. The French fries are good, they taste fresh and "homemade". I do think the extra price for the special seasoning is a bit much, but full disclosure, you don't need an entire fey basket to yourself. We got the Parmesan parsley seasoning, it was ok; will probably try something else next time. My boyfriend and I each got an order of the smallest size the had and could only eat maybe half. The smallest size is really for 2, maybe 3 people. Something to keep in mind when griping about the price. If I find myself on Archer Road craving a burger, I'll definitely be stopping by again. Would like to try out some of their delicious looking shakes!

Gotta love a good burger! BurgerFi is trendy, environmentally and diet friendly--they have veggie burgers too! Their menu is small but filled with all that it needs--good burgers, hotdogs, sides and frozen custard. My +1 and I both enjoyed custom burgers and found that sharing an order of their "cry + fries" (their MASSIVE onion rings and french fries--which were even better, by the way, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese for about .77 extra) did just fine for the both of us. I also took the opportunity to try one of their shakes made from their frozen custard, which was one of the best I've had in a long time. They have something of a tracking system where they find your table and bring you your food through a wireless device, but the server still seemed lost and took a good three minutes to actually find us--I'm wondering what the point of the devices is, in that case. We found a seat off to the side, but like others, I would not have enjoyed sitting so close to the line. The restaurant was also extremely noisy! In the end, however, their food was great, with all natural ingredients and impressive flavors. Even if they are pretty pricy, I'd go back for more!

OMG! So good!!:) 1st time and not my last! Awesome natural green food experience:) Maybe they can incorporate non GMO Veggies and Whole ancient grain buns?!?

Ambiance is s light and airy. Casual atmosphere, friendly staff, and clean. We ordered single burgers with toppings. They were a good size for a small appetite. The onion rings were huge, made with sweet onions and really good. We will be returning.

Really liked it here. Nice airy open restaurant with awesome decor. Fast friendly service and loved the "green style" burger for people like me who cannot eat a ton of bread. Loved the fries they tasted great.

BurgerFi is basically an In-N-Out and Shake Shack hybrid copycat. Evidence, you ask? They've got concretes, frozen custard treats, clearly a la Shake Shack. They have alternative style fries, which might be the baby brother of In-N-Out's animal style fries. They even serve the food on aluminum trays. Hmm.... Verdict? Total copycat! But props for trying. And for their efforts, BurgerFi gets my stamp of approval because it brings the best from two burger powerhouses, to make a single burger dreamhouse. In all fairness, it does have some of its' own distinctions too, like a veggie friendly quinoa burger and hashbrown, egg topped breakfast burger. While I did find the burgers to be on the tad drier side, they were very meaty and filling with double patties. I recommend the urban fries off the secret menu (another distinction) and the key lime concrete. Keep in mind, the portions here are pretty big too, so make a game plan that includes sharing. 3.5 stars. Well played, BurgerFi.

I like burgers. In Gainesville, FL there is no shortage a) of local beef and b) of local places serving said local beef in really creative/tasty ways. BurgerFi is absolutely worth your time for several reasons that give it a 4-star rating but the burger is not one of them. If you are disheartened continue reading and I will explain. The Space BurgerFi is located right off of Archer, easily visible from the road. It is brand new and looks terrific, with ample indoor and outdoor seating. The chairs are made from sustainable plastics but are plenty sturdy and brightly colored to match their lime green logo. Two TVs are visible in the corners of the room for any sport that might be on. The Service I went for a late lunch on their grand opening day so I will assume that the staffing and pacing are completely unrepresentative of what the service will be like in a few weeks. That being said, the service was great. They bring your food to you on silver trays and you simply pick a seat and place a buzzer on your table. They had tons of people around and they were giving out samples of their custards for those waiting in the out-the-door line. I was asked numerous times if I needed anything and as I finished aspects of my mega-meal they came by to clear away various papers and trays. The Food -Single patty with bleu cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and grilled onion (C+) -Urban fries aka fries topped with parmesan, herbs, and garlic aioli (B+) -Onion rings (B) -Oh My Chocolate (OMC) Concrete (B+) Being frank: the burger was underwhelming. My creation cost ~$6 and I consider it to be a fairly standard burger style. The patty was thin and a tad dry for me, and most certainly small for the price. The quality of each ingredient was unquestionably supreme so I was ok with it overall, but when I want a burger in this town I will not think of this place immediately. Onion rings were good, but a tad too greasy for me and I have had better. The "urban fries" I mistakenly ordered large, and they give you a TON of them (sharing them with 3 people is more than doable). Between the notable taste of the herb to the garlic tang of the aioli, it was a very indulgent but tasty option. Finally the OMC Concrete was my favorite part of the whole meal. A certain fast food frosty chain has NOTHING on the texture and quality of their custard, and the added brownie and peanut butter made for a large and tasty pairing to the savory burger and fry meal. Final Thoughts -There are NO COMBOS! Prices are misleading, as getting a drink, burger with cheese, and fry will run you over $10 with no alterations or sweet treat. -They serve craft beer (draft and bottle) )and will soon have railings that allow those sitting outdoors to drink alcohol there -They have quinoa patties to cater to the vegan/vegetarian crowd -They have no additives or preservatives and everything is made fresh to order BurgerFi gets 4 stars from me, despite the burger being completely forgettable, because of literally everything else: service was great, place looks and feels great, fries were delightfully customizable and the custards are the best of that style I have ever had. That and knowing they serve preservative/additive-free foods makes them a really great place. Maybe the Kobe Beef Dog will lure me back in soon...

I happened to come across this restaurant on their opening day, so I decided to give it a try. It advertises itself as a gourmet Burger spot. I ordered the quinoa burger with parm/herb fries. The portion sizes and prices are not ideal, as mentioned in other reviews. I enjoyed the veggie burger option, however if you are going to be a gourmet burger spot upgrade your lettuce game. Who uses iceburg lettuce?!? Can I please get green leaf lettuce?! Anyway, the parm cheese/herb fries were a waste of calories and money. They just were plain saltless fries with a dusty, tasteless coating. Stick to regular fries. Final verdict, it's alright. I really like quinoa, so I will be back when I need a veggie burger fix. Otherwise, if I'm in the mood for a beef burger.. I'd probably look elsewhere.

  • Lanise A.

I went here twice and ordered the exact same thing for the exact same price: a single cheeseburger with Burgerfi sauce, tomatoes and lettuce, and a red velvet shake. The red velvet shake was nice and thick, and not too sweet that it didn't give me a headache later on. The burger was good, but at first bite all I touched was grease from the wrapper. Thought it was okay but unfortunately my stomach begged to differ. Like previous reviews have said, it is pricey. If I were to order fries my meal would be over $10 and I paid exactly $9.48. Its a nice place though, just won't be somewhere I'd stop for lunch every day.

Disorganized, confusing to first timers, and just okay burgers. The vinegar fries were very tasty to me but the rest of my party did not care for them - ages 7, 9, 35, 62, and 64. Still don't get the "free" toppings instructions as they charge you after choosing more than two - or something like that. Burgers were just okay for us and we all agreed that we preferred Five Guys better. It just wasn't our cup of tea.

  • Anh D.

I LOVE BurgerFi. Their food is consistently excellent. I always go for a lettuce bun burger, and they deliver each time a great burger. My only complaint is that their fries are a little meh. Nothing special, but they are not bad at all!

  • John L.

Alas Gainesville gets a Shack Shack clone, down to the Martin's Potato Roll, and I'm happy it's here. I wish they would have also ripped off the fries though. Instead these are of the "boardwalk", Five Guy's type fries of which I am no fan. As to the burger itself the texture of the patty was a little mealy, as though it was overworked, but otherwise a great burger. Probably the best non-fancy-pants burger in town.

  • Joyce Z.

Great onion rings and fries. Great burger combos or for those of you that are picky lots of ways to make it your own without lots of up charges unless you want to. The custard is great and the sample is a good 4-5 small spoonfuls not just a tiny taste. They have one of those soda machines that has 100's of choices which I love. I had the breakfast all day burger, which had bacon(really crispy and thick), cheese, a fried egg, and a hash brown patty. I usually get a burger like this, love fried eggs on burgers, the hash brown patty put this burger over the top. It was great!

The service is always great and the burgers are the best I've ever had. If you haven't gotten their fries and onion rings you have to because they too are to die for.

  • M S.

My husband and I love the burgers here. First time impression: The burgers do look small but the quality is great (my husband pointed out how he liked the cheese as well, not being a big cheese person). We both ordered BurgerFi cheeseburgers and a regular fry to share (as the cashier did point out that a regular fry feeds two people). We were so full! I also ordered one of their custard chocolate shakes and it was amazing! The cashiers are always super friendly and competent. Have been here several times, never been disappointed :)

This place has really grown on me! The food is so good, and I feel like a drug addict for their fries. Prices aren't that bad. Major pro: you don't feel like your going to die after you eat here. It's not as heavy & greasy as Five Guys. The seating is good, they offer indoor/outdoor and it has a great atmosphere. Not to mention all the employees are very friendly. Try it out, you'll like it!

Absolutely awesome! Best burgers and fries ever! The best wine and be selection of any burger joint - Caymus and Conundrum! And it's all natural! 5+!!

  • P D.

I decided to try this spot and venture off my diet. I had a great burger, root beer, a nice vanilla shake and onion rings. The atmosphere was nice and the food was great. The onion rings were on some sort of Lou Ferrigno steroid because they were huge--the biggest rings I've ever seen! These rings looked like hula hoops! The milks Shake was probably too thick for me (felt like I was going suck my brains out at times), but the taste was good. Definitely a good spot to get a cheat day from a diet or meal plan!

  • Vicci M.

Although my burger was raw inside and so was my friends, they did remake mine when I returned to the front without issue. The girl was helpful ringing us out and explaining the menu but I still can't get past the raw meat occurrence especially when it's such a thin burger. I try to eat only hormone free meat, which is what brought me to this place and know that even what you buy at Publix as hormone free, is not greasy. I know they tout the hormone free beef as part of their thing but the amount of grease on our burgers screams poor quality meat. Add that to my raw cooked burger experience and I will def pass on this place in the future.

Visted this place while on vaca to see my bros graduation from UF. I ordered the burger with lettice as buns. Needless to say it was so good i ordered a second burger and went back a second time before i left. Burger was seasoned well, fries were great and atmosphere was comfortable. Great spot for a burger

Delicious red velvet milkshakes! The milkshakes alone are worth coming back for. I don't mind the loud music that alternates between dance music and light rock, I can still make conversation at the tables easy enough. Management was friendly, attentive, and generous.

  • Brian M.

Don't get me wrong, its a good burger, but nothing screamed out at me as unique. Fries and burgers were the same as five guys, but I can get a craft beer with my food, so I guess that's a plus.

  • Sigal C.

Burger was not that great. The fact that they're natural is SO COOL, but, yeah, the burger wasn't tasty. It was bland. I'm probably not going back.

Great burgers. I like their parmesan fries too. I'll be coming back...

  • Kerby F.

This place is a big "meh". I only got a burger. Nothing special, just their Burgerfi burger (2 patties, lettuce, tomato, "burgerfi sauce" -- which looked kinda like burger fat to me). Nothing added, either. It was very greasy.. Between the burgerfi sauce and buttery bun, I guess. Their burgers are also kinda small, but I didn't mind their portions. I guess it was about the size of my palm, but it was a good size, probably realistic portions for a burger (unlike what we've been trained to believe is normal... God Bless America). Cool burger bun branding mark, though. The interior is very chic, however. All new looking, modern designs. Cool buzzer system. Kinda loud inside, the one downside. Plenty of seating for large groups.. but almost no 2-person seating inside. I had to sit outside with my friend, thankfully it was nice out. At about $6 a burger, I'd say go to Five Guys. I feel like the burger quality is on par if you're not making anything special.

Quinoa veggie burger is awesome. The sides are fries and onion rings and they're the bomb. Husband loved the cheeseburger. Next time we will try doing the make your burger where you tell them what toppings you want out of a decent list (at least in my opinion). Nice atmosphere and friendly workers. Great place! I will definitely go back.

  • Felipe L.

The best veggie burger i've ever had. Seriously delicious quinoa, parmesan cheese, and vegetables patty. I could eat that veggie burger everyday and be really happy with it. The place is super nice, cool atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food... It checks all the boxes except for price. It is not a cheap burger place, but it's definitely a must-go for vegetarians who love a good veggie burger (and not rabbit food shaped as patties...)

No longer allows phone orders to pick up unless you give your credit card number over the phone. Never give your credit card over the phone! Scam!

Nice venue...SMALL burgers. Ok for me (girl watching figure) boyfriend- still hungry after we left poor guy. I got the quinoa burger, tasty for vegetarians :) Just wish it was bigger for the price!!

Love this spot it rivals five guys and serves beer and wine. I give it a 5 bc I love the atmosphere and the quickness of the service even when their packed. The burgers aren't like something you'd buy at an up class place but it's good I will be returning and trying the breakfast burger next

  • Michael S.

I'll start by saying, you need to get the custard - it is one of the creamiest and smoothest I've ever had. Be warned thought, we ordered the jr size and it came out ginormous. I ordered the 1/2 x 1/2 which was a cheeseburger with a quinoa cheeseburger on top, wrapped in lettuce. It was good, the quinoa patty ended up a bit mushy into the meal but guess that's to be expected. My sisters ordered off the make your own and oh yeah, a bucket of fries. Although the bucket size could feed a small army, otherwise fresh cut fires are always the best and these did not disappoint. Should add BurgerFi to your places to visit. Being from the Chicago area we will be making a trip to Glenview, the only location in Illinois.

First time here. Place was busy but ordering was quick and food came in a timely manner. Went with the brisket burger and fries. Both were good. Fries were fluffy with good flavor. Burger tasted good but nothing fancy imo. Others in my group had veggie burgers and a regular cheese burger. They all enjoyed and said veggie burgers were good.

French fries. But, not just any french fries. Fresh out of the frier. Crispy, golden brown, and delicious. But they don't stop there. To guild the lily (and you always should when it comes to food, in my opinion) you can add parmesan cheese and herbs. Oh my. Oh yes. Yes! Yes! Yes! Oh, and the burger on the side is awesome, too.

  • Irvin D.

Overall my experience was good there they are very friendly and professional and the place was kept clean. I ordered the double cheeseburger which was not that bad and fries. The food cost 9+ for just that. Upon eating it it was nothing really fancy or different from the other competition out there. I would recommend you try it though as it appeals to different consumers.

  • Alescia B.

Have eaten here twice and they have great burgers and fries. You can order just about anything you like on your burger. And of course, they have the 101 flavor soda machines. They do need to look into a better line for when you are ordering. However, the management seems quite sincere on making sure you have a great experience. Will return.

Was very busy but was served in a reasonable time. Great robust atmosphere. Food was a little expensive but worth the extra money because of their environmentally sustainable practices. Burger and Cajun fries was great. Clean tables and restrooms. Manager asked twice if everything was good. Have large tables for large parties and sidewalk dining available.

  • Teampcbeach ..

Burgerfi was OK, but didn't really live up to the hype. Burgers were good, but not great and a little over priced for what you got. Seasoned fries (several options available) and the Onion Rings (giant thick cut rings) were all good. A decent craft beer selection on draft added to the overall experience. Might be a good place to stop in if you just wanted a couple beers with soem fries to rings to snack on. Nothing terrible about our visit, but really nothing special enough to bring us back again.

  • Dennis F.

This is a nicely designed hamburger and hot dog place with none of the fast food look, feel, or convenience. Despite the loud music, orders are taken efficiently and delivered to wireless transmitters if placed correctly on e-mats on the tables -- hence the BurgerFi name (I think). With the only frozen custard in Gainesville, it was great to find cones, shakes, and sundaes made from something other than yogurt or ice cream. But like everything here, the prices seem way too high for what you get. In our case a disappointing cheese burger, faux -Chicago dog, greasy onion rings, and $4 draft beers in plastic cups. Though made from Kobe beef, there was no discernable difference in flavor or quality, the beer was not that crafty, and the buns quickly melted into a sodden paste. During our lunch, most seemed to be looking longingly across the street at the 5 Guys, a better value by far.

No complaints. Homemade onion rings, burger was awesome, and cold beer. It was packed so that must be a good sign! It only took about 10 minutes to get our food though. Even the hotdogs looked legit! That's what I'm getting next time!

We went here because they offer a veggie burger (my partner is vegetarian). The description says it is a quinoa burger with toppings that include cheese. We ordered the burger without the cheese. When we got the burger we were told that the burger itself has cheese in it. So we got a refund. They were fine giving the refund but didn't understand that it was not ok to advertise a vegetarian burger without disclosing the hidden cheese. Yes, this makes the burger vegetarian not vegan but they need to make that clear.

I really wanted to like this place more -- maybe I just bought into the hoopla surrounding its opening, but it seemed promising. The food itself is tasty. I don't eat meat, so I ordered the veggie burger. Unlike a lot of veggie burgers, it had a nice texture. Other than that, though, there wasn't really anything amazing about it. My main reason for not rating it higher is the price (or more specifically, the value). Like the other reviewers said, the burgers are really small, and even with this expectation I was still surprised at the size when we received our food. I don't have the biggest appetite, and I'm the last person to complain about portion sizes, but for what it cost I was expecting more. For the two of us (two veggie burgers, fries to share, and two drinks) dinner cost almost $25. Considering the amount of food we got, it seemed like we should have paid more like $12-15. Also, the veggie burger was more expensive than a regular burger, which just seems silly. In sum, the food was pretty good but not worth the price. Do your wallet a favor and go across the street to Five Guys.

I have to say that I was disappointed with Burgerfi. I was really hoping for a place with a great draft list and big tasty burgers. The burgers are surprisingly small, the fries are okay, and the shakes and custard are pretty good (although I'd prefer a shake at which wich next door for half the price). What really turned me off was the size and taste of the burger. I had the Burgerfi double add bacon (just under 7$ before tax) and was not full after eating it. I shared the Parmesan cheese fries (large) with a friend and the portion was plenty for two. However, again, nothing special. This place will stay open for its location and atmosphere, but the burger isn't cracking Gainesville's top 5 anytime soon. Just follow up on this review. I was contacted by someone at the corporate office of Burger Fi requesting a good time to call me to discuss my visit. I provided them my number, and they never called. I even emailed them again to see if they needed any information. It has been 3 weeks or so now and still no word. Definitely wont make the trip back here.

I prefer the competitor across the street... That being said I have only tried the BurgerFi burger (more than a handful of times) and each time was just ok, not a memorable burger for the price. BurgerFi burger comes with a McD's Special Sauce type of sauce but they don't put enough of it. Fries are terrible, each time we've gotten them they were soggy and had an obviously frozen quality about them. I wouldn't think adding their various seasoning combos would save them. My bf and I have decided to come here less. I may try the quinoa burger next time to change it up. Their burger patty isn't really seasoned nor does it have a great char like you expect from an underseasoned patty to redeem it so it's kinda just 'meh'. I did get the soft serve (I think it's called a concrete) with rainbow sprinkles and was quite happy with it but it was on the spendy side.

When I eat in the rating is higher. I'm not sure what all the negativity about the taste and the size is about, I'm a 200 lb man and usually don't finish the fries AND the burger. When I eat in. The amazing thing is their obvious lack of desire for take out customers. The amount of fries for take out is more than half what I get when i eat in, and, even though they have the cool coke machine, they only have a 12 oz cup. Thats fine when I'm setting 20 ft from the machine, but $2.50 for a 12 oz cup to go is just asinine. It tells me they don't want me to take out. So I won't. When I want to spend $11 on a burger and fries...I just won't, that really is a deal breaker. I'll wait for a Burger21 to arrive.

Very disappointed The burger was very small and overly greasy. Most of the options were a double burger. If it was a single, there wouldn't be enough meat. The prices are lower that restaurant burgers, but the get you on overpriced fries and drinks. Skip it

The veggie quinoa burger is tasty but so tiny. My boyfriend also got the regular burger and it barely could call itself a burger. Delicious but tiny portion sizes. You'll need to shell out some dough to really get a full meal here. Great selection of drinks and other items though.

I thought the food was quite good much like Five guys, I also had their Concrete red velvet the texture was very thick which I like and the flavor was good too.

For less than what you'd pay at a sit-down restaurant, you get a burger that's as good as, if not better than sit-down quality. My west-coast husband remarked that it reminded him of an In-N-Out burger. I found it a lot less greasy and heavy than, say, Five Guys. The fries were nicely crispy and not so soaked in peanut oil that I had to stop after a couple. At some point, we'll be back to give the hot dogs a whirl, since we both dearly miss DC-3 from the District. I'd say if you need a burger/dog fix and want quality without paying $10 for the basics, this is your destination. Quick, friendly, and efficient service, bonus points for beer and wine on the menu (although, really, I wonder how long wine will remain an offering).

This is a new place on town and I think they are giving 5-Guys a run for their money. :) Maybe------maybe not. I ordered the cheeseburger that was really good and a perfect portion-for me. I also had french fries with the cheeseburger that I shared because the portion was quite a lot. This place sells beer and wine, which is why I think a lot of people go there. I've been here 3 times and every time there were several people either already eating or on line waiting to order. Price wise this is too expensive when considering its a cheeseburger and fries. The music is way to loud and should be turned down.

We noticed that one of these restaurants was coming to Jacksonville near the Town Center. It peaked my interest. We made the 50 mile trip to this location to give it a try. Neat building but there is no railings to catch you when you get the sticker shock after reviewing the menu. I really was anticipating that the meal would be off the chain. It was rather disappointing. I asked the server to recommend their signature burger. She went into the scripted sales pitch ending with we don't have a signature burger. I had the breakfast all day burger, which had bacon(really crispy and thick), cheese, a fried egg, and a hash brown patty didn't taste the maple syrup that was suppose to be there. There was a unique nice touch with the grilled top bun having the logo charred into it. The burger was "meh" OK. Nothing really to write home to mom about. I was informed of their Special Sauce, It is more like Thousand Island dressing mixed with Mayo and a touch of Horseradish. The French fries are OK, they taste fresh and "homemade" but soggy. I do think the extra price for the special seasoning is a bit much, The Custards and shakes were good but how bad to you have to be to mess that up. I dislike the way they have their ordering line organized. Tables are close quarters clearance. I constantly was getting hit in the head with either people walking through, or cleaning staff cleaning the floor or tables. Might want to consider some guide ropes to better control traffic flow away from the diners and reduce incidents of unwanted physical contact.

Went to Burger Fi for the first and last time today. The burger was tasteless and over priced. Fries was way too salty. My wife couldn't finish half of her burger due to taste and the texture of the meat. Atmosphere was good and is the only reason for the 1 star.

I was excited to try them when they opened this spring...but left disappointed. Their prices are high (despite boasting the all-natural thing) and the food wasn't good enough to compensate. The burger was decent but nothing special. The portion of fries was HUGE and they were pretty good (we got the parmesan herb ones) but once again, not good enough. I didn't feel super gross after eating there, though, which is a plus considering burgers and fries are on the greasy side. I would consider going back to try custard and their veggie burger and I will say that the vibe is nice (despite the extreme busyness). We ate outside and it was still a bit noisy but it was a nice try for a lunch date. Makes me nostalgic for In n Out...

The management and staff are terrible. I asked one if the employees if the Parmesan fires were gluten free because I'm highly allgeric and the employee flat out told me he doesn't know. Not even offering to ask his manager or anyone else. I then asked him if he could possibly ask the chef and he replied "they don't know themselves they just cook the food" annoyed already I asked him if he could ask his manager which was no help because she didn't know her self. Shouldn't the manager know of all the possible food allergies? I decided to give burgerfi another try. I tried calling in an order for pick up. I was directed to three people before I placed an order. The young man then asked for my credit card over the phone and I told him I would just pay when i got there (how it usually is when do a pick up). He then put me on hold for 5 minutes to talk to his manager about doing that. Clearly they've never done a pick up before. Once I got there expecting for my food to be ready the young man told me the order can't go through without paying first....(so what was the point of calling ahead if my food wasn't ready?) Once my order was ready I was called up and noticed there were two orders for me. I told them there was a mistake and only ordered one burger. The manager then rudely came up to me and said "well you placed two orders. Next time you order, don't place two orders.) clearly this wasn't my mistake and was the mistake of the person who took my order. I didn't want to call out that it was the employees mistake because the manager already had attitude with me, I couldn't imagine how she treats her employees. I couldn't even believe the manager was giving attitude to a costumer who was being patient after all the inconvenience. Overall the management is terrible and same with the food! NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN!

Burgerfi is def. overhyped and expensive for what it is. I paid $15 for a burger, milkshake and fries. The burger was about 4 inches wide (small portion in my opinion but it did have 2 beef patties). Milkshake came out 10 minutes after I got my burger & really wasn't anything special at all. Save your money and go to relish or copper monkey; not worth wasting your money here. They do have a quinoa burger for vegetarians! 2/5 stars easily.

I always thought that "BurgerFi" was a mix of "burger" and "wifi" but although they do have wifi, they name is actually short for "the burgerfication of America." The more you know. A moderately-sized burger joint with both indoor and outdoor seating. The place is well-kept and the cashiers are friendly (though it does feel like they are reciting a script when they talk to you). If the burgers were bigger, I'd consider giving this place a 4.5

OK, this one was tough to "star". It's very new and clean looking inside, always a plus for me. As I approached the counter I was met by a less than enthusiastic order taker. I ordered a single patty with cheddar, fried egg, bacon, lettuce, and mayo. And a beer, Sam Adam's Cold Snap (side bar: Cold Snap tasted like Heineken or something, gross, won't order that again anywhere). I was handed a pager-looking-thing and told to place it on the gray matt once I chose a table. Kind of slick, they can find you easily when they bring your order out. The burger was tiny! And didn't come with fries, which I should have asked about. It tasted pretty good, even though it was slightly overcooked. The problem with this place is 5 Guys is across the street. I know, 5 Guys has no shakes and no beer, but the burgers are much better.

I feel conflicted on how I want to rate this place. I had "the 28" burger which was their more expensive already made burgers and fries. When I had the first bite, I thought "mmm it's beefy and tangy from the bleu cheese!" However, the more I ate it, I got tired of it quickly, there was just no catch to it other than the good beefy taste. Now for $10, I expected more, whether in flavor or size. The burgers are kinda small, but again, good beefy flavor. I think it was over priced and wished I had just built my own burger for cheaper. Now, if you love fries, they give you a lot of it! I ordered a regular order (the smallest) and got a super size me amount! The fries were exactly what fries are supposed to be, to me at least. They were medium cut fries, potatoe flavor and crispy. Nothing out of the ordinary to make them amazing, but fully satisfied for $3 and it made me full because I was still hungry after the burger. They have a selection of draft beers, local and the usual brands. Also, they had a selection of wines that you can enjoy. They have shakes which looked good and I'll probably give it a go next time. I wanted to give this place a higher rating because while the food is good, I left wanting sonething more. With how I paid, I felt I could've gone to a sit down restaurant and leave more satisfied.

Burgerfi is described as such: if Chipotle & Red Robin were to have a baby and it was adopted by In & Out Burger and a Nathan's Hot Dog stand, this would be the offspring. This may have been one of the coolest, most unique atmosphere's I've been in for a "burger joint". We stopped in Gainesville on our way home from Cocoa Beach, and true to my form, I couldn't stop anywhere that we could get back home. This is definitely not available at home or I would be 350 pounds. The whole ambiance is true to modern, retro, classic, bar meets burger. It truly is a place you have to experience. We were greeted immediately and the cashier was beyond patient with our extremely indecisive nature. We wound up getting a large fry to split, a burger with the breakfast works, and a Kobe beef chili dog. We brought our pager to the table and set it on the spaceship pad that told the server where to drop our food, and we just relaxed under the Edison lighting in the recycled coke bottle chairs. The food came out pretty quick and was hot and fresh. I love the fact that they brand their burger buns with a Bugerfi stamp. It's just one more cool, unique touch that sets this place apart. You could tell the fries were fresh cut, the beef tasted fresh, not frozen, and the hot dog was of top notch quality. I immediately looked at the franchising fee and realized I need more money to enjoy life. I want to bring this place to Lexington.

I had a double w/white cheddar, lettuce, tomato, ketchup. It was very good. However, I was expecting a slightly larger burger. I also ordered the fries/onion ring mix. The fries were great but the 3 onion rings were slightly over cooked. The strawberry lemonade was awesome!! (2nd best strawberry lemonade ever...right behind Red Robin). Overall, I give the food a 3.5

The chocolate malt tastes exactly like whoppers. So if you like whoppers that's great. I personally will stick with a typical shake next time lol. The burger tastes nice and fresh. And the bread was sooo good. The chili dog was pretty good. I was craving a sonic chili dog so this did the trick. (Tip they use cheese sauce not shredded cheese) The staff is nice and friendly. :)

Never a long line. The atmosphere is super chill, and the entire place feels spacious and quiet enough. Plus, plenty of contained space for the little one to waltz around in. I love the way they serve their fries. My tip would be to get more than one order of fries whenever possible - they'll put two containers on a tray and pour a bunch all over the tray. Thumbs up.

Excellent. High quality ingredients, creative menu, cool atmosphere, and (most importantly) delicious food. The burgers, fries, and onion rings were all impressive. The egg on my breakfast burger was perfectly cooked to be just a tiny bit runny. That, mixed with a small dab of maple syrup, crispy bacon and 2 soft buns amounted to a whole lot of deliciousness. My husband and kids agreed. We'll be back!

First time here. Will definitely not be my last. Had the all day breakfast burger. Really unique and interesting combination of flavors. A really good burger. Very fresh buns. The fries are the best I have had since leaving California and In N Out. No "haters" please. Highly recommend this place.

I've only been here once, but I enjoyed my lunch there. The menu has pre-configured burgers as well as offers the option for building your own, and they have hot dogs and chili cheese dogs on the menu as well. There is no kid's menu, which might be a problem for some, but the woman who took our order said that they could make a grilled cheese or plain hot dog for a child if we wanted it. I was most blown away by the portions here. The burger my husband ordered wasn't overly huge, which is okay by me. He was full after eating it and his side order. My hot dog was a decent size, too. We both ordered their, "Cry & Fries" which was three oversized onion rings and a container of french fries. They definitely didn't skimp on the fries, and the onion rings were fresh. This was a pleasant change over some of the other modern burger joints that seek to offer similar side options. The cups for drinks, on the other hand, were smaller than I would've liked. We dined in, so refilling our cups was not an issue, but upon take-out, I might find that I get through my drink before my meal is done. I only noticed one size for those, so I wasn't a fan. They did have a tasty lemonade that I enjoyed. Just wish it was available in a bigger cup for me to take! Overall, this place is fun and modern and offers great food and impeccable customer service. I will definitely be back.

Keeping them at 2 stars. Food is really 3 stars. But after going here again, this time being a busy Sunday lunch. I hate the way they have their ordering line organized. Tables have a 1 foot walking clearance. So you constantly get hit in the head with either people walking through, or cleaning staff cleaning the floor or tables. Hit to management - you need to take you wall of soda machines and make that area the order line. Keeping ordering customers standing from hovering over your patrons trying to eat with their families. I understand the place being tight, but making an order line will keep foot traffic between tables and head bang elbow hits to a minimum. Personally I think Five Guys burgers or Relish are better (comparing burgers in the same price range). This time the garlic and herb fries were really soggy. Onion rings were good and huge as last time. Next time we'll go back and try the custard.

All in all, not a terrible experience but I don't think I will be returning. The place is clean, the service was friendly, but for the amount of money we paid vs the amount of food we got, a sit down restaurant would have been better. My boyfriend and I got the double cheeseburger ($6.75 each), the regular fry to split, and waters and the bill was $18+ dollars. For a fast food joint that's just way too much. The food was good, not mind blowing but definitely not bad.

I visited Burgerfi when I was in Gainesville and had a very excellent meal. My fiancé and I ordered two cheeseburgers with the combination rings and fries basket and an ice-cream desert. The OCM Concrete. The Burgers were tasty, the fries were savory and the ice-cream was delicious. Also they had an excellent variety of draught beers. I ordered a Cigar City Florida Cracker. This made for a really good burger experience. Also the outdoor seating was very nice.

BurgerFi gets high marks for creating a nice "burger stand meets bar" social venue, perfect for hanging out with friends or co-workers, noshing and downing beverages. They've keyed in on the current LEED-type enviro-friendy, energy efficient decor and equipment. Its a nice place to hang out. Eventually the review comes down to the food and (unfortunately for BurgerFi), I've just recently eaten at Bobby Flay's "Bobby's Burger Palace" which makes the comparison unfair. BurgerFi uses all natural ingredients (two thumbs up). My cheeseburger contained a double-patty stack of Angus goodness which was reasonably seasoned but cooked medium-well. This gave the protein a bit of dry, rubbery texture and not the succulent burger experience I prefer. (If having the meat cooked to order is an option, it wasn't offered when the order was given.) The bun is in line with a Martin's potato bread type and was not toasted but was stamped with a brand that burned the name "BurgerFi" into the bun. I enjoy potato bread immensely but the chewiness of the bun in combination with the rubbery burger patty resulted in a gummy texture in the mouth. Cheeseburger ~$6. The onion rings are enormous. Imagine cutting an onion for thick-cut rings then tripling the thickness. i mean they are big, so much so you really can't get them in your mouth very easily. Novelty aside, they have to be consumed by humans. The taste was and the breading was good. Served hot and fresh, the small size was ample for two people. (5 rings in a small, 8 in a large). ~$4 Fountain drink prices are ridiculous. $2.47 but you get free refills. I'm all for capitalism but this profit-making was a bit egregious. Would i return? Sure, to hang out with friends and chew the fat (or the burger). If i wanted a really good hamburger, however, I'd head over to Bobby's or Five Guys. Thumbs up for: Decor, design, portion size, price (except soda) Thumbs down for: Novelty cuts on onion rings, texture of burgers

For a place that is named after their burgers, the burgers are lacking. Bland and nothing special. Their savior is their fries. Oh my god, those fries. Get them urban style, covered in Parmesan and garlic aioli. Worth it and more than enough for one person.

My son is at UF and introduced this place to me. OUTSTANDING Burgers. Better than Five-guys!!! Juicy hot burgers made to order. COLD Draft/Craft Beer and they bring it to you. You can't finish the fries there are so many - and they have malt vinegar for them! Would I go Again: In a second - its our new lunch/brunch late eat stop!

Burgerfi is amazing! It isnt the burgers that drive me to come back though. It's the fries! The fries are always perfect. Well salted, the right crispness, and never soggy. They have the best fries I have EVER had. That's not to say their burgers aren't good. They're pretty good. If you get a burger with their signature sauce, you need to get it with lettuce! I know that sounds weird, but I think the lettuce fully accentuates the flavor of the sauce and enhances the burger fully! Admittedly, without the lettuce the sauce is indistinguishable. They also serve custard, and it's delicious! They gave me a free sample and boy was I satisfied. Additional notes: -ALWAYS CLEAN -MIXOLOGY SODA MACHINES -SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF -GREAT ATMOSPHERE

Cool looking place with friendly staff and a laid back atmosphere. The food I ended up choosing were the Burgerfi double cheeseburger, Chicago dog and french fries with the parmesan and herb topping. The Double cheeseburger was very tasty and satisfying, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The fries however were my least favorite item here from what I ordered. I am not a fan of their style of fries. They are similar to five guys fries but not as good in my opinion. They were dry and limp and not very appealing. The parmesan and herb topping was not at all what I expected. I thought it would be similar to the french fry heaven parmesan cheese topping but instead it's just parmesan powder that does not improve the taste of the fries what so ever, in fact, I would have probably enjoyed the fries a little more if they didn't have the topping. So save your 77 cents on that one. The Chicago dog was pretty good too. The hot dog definitely tasted like a premium beef hotdog! I am super picky with hotdogs and I can only stomach all beef dogs and this one did not disappoint. It was split, grilled and piping hot, the way I like my food presented. I didn't really care for the relish on the dog though. It was sweeter than usual and had a funny taste that I wasn't accustomed to. But the Chicago dog was still a decent eat. This is probably a one time visit place for me because nothing I ate stood apart from other burger joints I've been to and I am also not a fan of these small burgers that these modern and "trendy" burger places are serving for 6 -7 bucks. Overall, Burgerfi is an A-OK place to grab a good, though pricey, cheeseburger for lunch.

Chaos and expensive. Easily two words to describe Burger Fi. Dare I say... Their menu is rather reminiscent of another farm to table joint I frequented.. sans the Burger Fi name addies. That's in bad taste.. so I would hope not. I enjoy the whole farm to fork mantra, and often these places garner higher priced selections, but Burger Fi seems to be riding that trendy cash cow into the ground. I've been to a lot of burger places touting the grass-fed beef and fresh farm veggies, and granted they live up to it to justify the prices. The whole nine yards to gluten free fries. I don't mind the prices if it's good food. Alas, Burger Fi isn't cutting it, at least for me. It horribly feels as a wolf in sheep's clothing, so to speak. The staff is friendly, sure. The food honestly isn't all that bad. Really, it's decent grub, and sure they may be a transparent company with great ingredients, but there is something off. I think it's in the quality. It's not living up to this mantra they've adorned themselves with. But hey, it could just be me. Afterall, it's just lunch, right?~ I'll give it an a-okay. They have a lot of funny upcharges on everything, and my Chicago dog was fine alone... though can't say much for the rest of my party. Fries and burgers all fell on a still note.

I love their food here. First let me give you all the reasons you should at least try this place: their parmesan and herb fries are to die for. Get a regular size to share between two people...that is plenty. Also, if you are a fan, their garlic aioli is a perfect dipping sauce for their fries. Secondly, their onion rings are enormous here. Ginormous! Thirdly, I've never tried their custard...but it looks fabulous. Will have to make it a point to try that next time. Fourthly, their burgers (that I have tried) are really good. When I'm not caring about calories, I get their all day breakfast burger which is a patty topped with a hash brown, fried egg, bacon, and drizzled in maple syrup. It is stupid good. When I am caring about calories, I order their quinoa burger, which tastes similar to a crab cake minus the fishiness. The only bummer are the prices. They don't have any combos- which I feel would really increase the number of people that eat there ten fold! That would make the prices more reasonable. If you buy a burger, fries, & a drink you are looking at $10+ for one person. A little pricey for a burger place at lunch in my opinion.

Definitely my favorite place within a 50 mile radius for a cheeseburger, and, if you are not watching your calorie intake, try the Breakfast All Day Burger (730 Cal). Natural Angus burger, American cheese, hickory bacon drizzled with maple syrup, fried egg, hash browns, grilled diced onions, and ketchup... yeah baby!!

Caution: these burgers are addictive and you will crave them all the time after you have one! I consider myself somewhat of a burger connoisseur, I absolutely love red meat and crave burgers and steaks all the time! This location is always slammed fyi, but for good reason. The first time I tried it I didn't have super high expectations but boy was I wrong! These freaking burgers are delicious!!!! The staff is friendly and laid back, they have beer and wine if you're looking to go with some friends or family and hang out for a bit. Cute atmosphere as well.

When I saw Burgerfi going in, I was hoping Gainesville was finally getting a burger place like Farm Burger that highlights high quality, flavorful beef. While the burgers weren't bad, they weren't real amazing either. All the marketing material points to an amazing burger experience, and while I'll take their word that it's "all natural" and "fresh," it just doesn't taste much different than a burger from a place like Steak N' Steak. If they seasoned the beef a little more, it would make all the difference in the world. I'd also like to see them use some grass fed beef. With the prices they are charging for their burgers, I'd have already expected them to be featuring grass fed beef for all their burgers. Aside from their burgers, they also have a few hotdogs you can get. I tried the "100%" Wagyu Kobe Beef Dog, and was left feeling like I just ate a regular old hotdog. I also do not believe for one second I'm getting a 100% Kobe dog for around five bucks. What deserves five stars here are their onion rings. A regular order is enough for two people, and they proudly feature thick onions and just enough breading. Some of the best onion rings I've tried around here. I'm personally not a fan of the fries they serve, but I don't think it's an issue of the fries, but more of a personal preference as to how they're prepared. For drinks they have some beer on tap and a few wine selections. For soda they have those terrible choose-your-own-crazy-flavor soft drink machines, where you cannot get a regular tasting plain coke out of. To make up for that they offer Mexican coke in a bottle, which is highly appreciated. For dessert they offer frozen custard in a few different forms. If you like really thick and rich desserts you'll probably enjoy their frozen custard. For me, I could only eat a few bites before putting it down in fear of what my stomach would do to punish me for throwing something so rich at it. So to wrap it up, beneath the nicely designed marketing material and equally nice interior design of the place, lies a mediocre and expensive burger experience with a few highlights to be found.

I'm going to be brutally honest about this place. I simply did not enjoy my dining experience here at all. From the get-go, the ordering process is somewhat us convoluted. It doesn't have to be. When you place your order, you get this pager-type device where you have to put on the table's specified place. I don't get why they don't go with the traditional # calling from your receipt. The setting here is casual. It's a oversized burger joint. Seating area is abundant, both inside and out. Now what is supposed to be the star of the restaurant turns out to be a complete dud. I decided on the BurgerFi Cheeseburger which comes with two patties. The burger patties were dry even though they were cooked medium/medium-well. The burgers apparently are ALL supposed to come out well done but by looking at the 4 burgers we got, the beef all had some pink centers which leads me into thinking their cooking process is just way out of whack. The appearance of the burger was something that caught my eye. The oozing of the cheese and the oily wrapped burger had me salivating at first but having that first bite really deceived me. I thought it was going to taste better. It was just so overdone it became rather chewy. Heck I've had way better burgers at Relish. It's sad to say that even chains like Red Robin/Five Guys got this place beat! If what you're serving is gourmet burgers. Make it gourmet. Don't screw yourself over by churning out dry burger patties that are underseasoned. I didn't care for the condiments either. Nothing special. I didn't even go for the fries based on all the negative reviews I've read here on Yelp. I'm a sucker for McDonald's fries. Just something about them, especially when they come out piping hot! Five Guys fries are pretty good as well. I went straight for the onion rings which is the only thing that was good about the meal. Huge onion rings. You will be floored at the size of them.

The food at Burgerfi is fantastic. The burgers are delicious and don't feel all fatty or undercooked. The atmosphere is pretty fun; the kids will enjoy the huge fan on the ceiling. When it gets busy,it can be really loud. Try to avoid sitting where the line forms because it just feels awkward eating with people standing above you. They really need to set up a line that goes from the east door to the register. The service is great; each "waiter" (who will bring your food to your table when it's ready) has been polite and energetic each time we've went. They will come around and ask how everything is and if they can do anything to make your experience better. The strawberry lemonade is to die for! I believe it's made by Burgerfi but either way it goes great with a burger and fries. The only reason I wouldn't give Burgerfi 5 stars is because of the price. It's far too expensive for a burger and fries and the quality isn't worth it. However, they give you a LOT of fries - enough for two people.

Dropped in with no previous knowledge and we were blown away. All natural make up your own style and you can't go wrong. We've eaten a lot of burgers but this ranked way up there. Perfect moistness and great taste. So good we kept trying to think of anyone we liked better and couldn't think of one. They are on the smallish side but perfect for me and hubby hit the double meat. Perfection doesn't have to bigger than the plate. Don't pass up the fi sauce, I used a little and it was perfect, Mt 23 ye old son loved dipping the fries not that they needed it. We ordered one regular and it was plenty of perfectly lightly crispy, non greasy fries for the three of us. Burger with white cheddar, lettuce and pickles was my choice and it was delicious! Next time we are in Gainesville, we won't pass it up.
