We stopped in here while I was visiting from out of town. We wanted Thai, it was close to base, and had our three requirements: Thai tea, vegetarian options, and the option to take it to go. I ordered red curry tofu, she ordered pad Thai, and each of us got the small Thai tea (16oz). The good: Her pad Thai was DELICIOUS. Crazy good. I couldn't keep my fork off her plate- or rather, her styrofoam takeaway container. Not too sweet, with the perfect amount of spice, and a huge portion. The meh: IMO there was too much condensed milk/the Thai tea was slightly too sweet. Almost like someone who likes southern sweet tea made it, lol. It just wasn't what I'm accustomed to. It lacked that graham crackery taste that typically accompanies Thai tea. The ugly: my red curry tofu smelled like kitty litter and/or city water. This is not an exaggeration. It just smelled...expired. There was bamboo shoots GALORE! Basically no other vegetables and virtually no tofu. I can't even put into words my reaction upon bringing a forkful of it near my face. Just... How. I don't even know how these two meals came from the same kitchen. I couldn't eat it. This isn't meant to be harsh, just honest. Overall, the pad Thai was the saving grace, but I wouldn't come back.

Anyone who's lived near a military base in probably familiar with the countless mediocre Thai restaurants sprinkled near base. Before you get too excited, keep in mind that they are mostly bad. These are not professional Thai chefs that came over by the masses to start Thai restaurants conveniently near military bases. These are just GI's gf/wives who are most likely not chefs. Just... women, who are Thai. So the food is... well, not great. Thai Chef is unfortunately, no exception to this rule. I had their pad thai for lunch and it was... well, not great. But edible, for the most part.

Upon a recommendation of a friend, I ordered the duck soup. I must say it was delicious! It was delivere to my table within ten minutes and it was piping hot! I like that, specially on a rainy night like tonight. The waitress was attentive and very polite. She came back about five minutes and asked how was the soup. I told her it was great! I will come here again and try their other food.

Food came out quick, and was delish! The lunch portions come with a salad, egg roll, and rice which is more than enough. We had papaya salad to start. I like it hot which it really wasn't as spicy as other places but the flavor was exceptional. I opted for Thai beef salad. I was slightly disappointed because it wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting but for lunch it was ok.

My husband and i frequent this place every three to four weeks. This is our go to for a chill night at home. We love the drunken noodle and the garlic chicken. I especially love the egg rolls. I would give this place 5 stars if they were able to have mangoes for the mango sticky rice all the time, but understandably mango isnt always in season. Go and enjoy the food and fast service.

Been here a couple times. Great lunch menu. Fantastic egg rolls. Never seen it real busy, but I attribute that to the location. Definitely worth trying.

I absolutely love this Thai place!!! The food is amazing and the service is outstanding. I've been there several times and I never have to wait to long for my food to arrive. My mother and father came to visit me and I brought them to this place, it was a done deal after that. My mother and father literally stopped by everyday for the curry chicken. Drop by and give them a try.... The only way you'll be disappointed is if you don't like good food.

This is my favorite Thai place. I get some sort of coconut chicken soup from the appetizer list and usually a different meal each time. It's always quiet, quick, and friendly service.

It seemed clean and friendly, but the food was mediocre at best and I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning here. So...yeah. Won't be coming back.

Excellent little restaurant. It's locally owned so don't expect anything commercial. We have had several menu items and they are always excellent- radnah, Thai dumplings, fresh rolls, pad Thai, three friends, drunken noodles. You get to choose your level of spice- mild, spicy, hot, Thai hot. The prices are good, on par with what you're getting and I can never eat my whole entree.

I have had much better. If you know Thai food this place will disappoint you.

Super quick service and amazing food! Their drunken noodles is a must try. Everything I've had from Thai Chef has been amazing. They are my go to Thai restaurant. Also, they're not kidding when you ask for Thai hot its very spicy! I love this restaurant and I highly recommend it!

Of the many Thai restaurants in the FWB area I have been to 6 of them and this is by far one of the best ones.

I really like this place, good food for low prices. My kids love the drunken noodles, my wife loves a few dishes now that I turned them on to Thai vs Chinese.I always get the beef and broccoli, hot. I prefer hot or thai hot, the regular flavor is too mild for me. BTW, not open on Sunday.

Third time I have eaten here, the is not bad but I have decided from here on out when I am craving Thai food this isn't the place I will end up. I won't say horrible but I I will be back either. Everyone is nice and service is good just leaves me wanting something better.

I tried Thai Chef for the first time, today. I wasn't impressed. I think I've eaten at at least 80% of all the Thai restaurants in Okaloosa County, and on first glance I rate this one below the "middle of the pack." I ordered Pad Thai. It was tasty, but not outstanding in any way. The only thing that really stood out to me was that I ordered it "medium," and it was pretty freaking spicy. The noodles were a bit gummy...a bit more "charred" than I'm used to for this dish. The accompanying spring roll was okay, but again, not exceptional. The exterior was "doughy," not crispy like I'm used to with these Thai rolls. The accompanying sauce was a lot like standard bar "simple syrup." Service was prompt but unexceptional from the perspective of someone looking for warm welcome and attentive wait staff. There were two ladies serving tables. And they didn't put much personality into their work, if you catch my drift. Seating is "open cafeteria" style...rahter like eating a school lunch room. There is no privacy to be had anywhere in the dining room. All the tables are open one to another. The restaurant seems pretty clean. Parking is pretty fair, but I think that's largely due to the low occupancy rate of the mall they're in. I bed the parking might be pretty skimpy if all the spaces in the mall were occupied and busy at lunchtime. I might try it again, just to be sure I'm giving them a fair shake. But if the meal is of the same character of the one they just served me it'll be my last visit.

Talk about service! Anything faster and you'd be at a McDonald's drive thru... ok, maybe that's a terrible comparison, but you get the point. Tucked away from the main drag, this quiet establishment packs away a different taste with a flavor to seek in the Fort Walton area. The tom kha gai was quite a delight, with a coconut base, hint of kaffir lime leaves and ginger, topped with scallions, and juicy bits of chicken to whet the appetite. To follow, the green curry, carried the heat from the first to the last bite, increasing slightly as you neared the end of your meal. The sweetness from the coconut milk, heat from the thai chillies, and crunchiness from the fresh slivers of bell peppers accented the tender slices of pork, making this quite a balanced dish. I have to warn you, when you tell the waitress to make it just a little less than thai hot, you'll be in for quite a sweat! By the end of the meal, I looked like I dipped my face in water... try not to wipe your face with the piece of the napkin used to wipte your lips... might be a toche painful.

Wife and I were hungry and stumbled upon this place. We have had Thai food from all over (yes, even in Thailand),and this place can hold her own. Try it!

Really good food and fast service. The lunch menu is limited but the amount of food you get on your plate is plentiful. There's always a big lunch crowd so that should tell you right there that the food is good. My only complaint is about the fried wontons...they were really good but the last time i had fried wontons with that little filling was when i got them from the student union at san francisco state university. Other than that, this place is a winner.

I could only justify giving this restaurant one star, so please keep reading to see why. This was my first visit to Thai Chef and I was very much looking forward to it because I love nothing more than good Thai food and had heard many good things about the place, not to mention the reviews here are not half bad. I first ordered the steamed dumplings, they are one of my favorite appetizers at other Thai restaurants. These were on the tiny side and were not as flavorful to me as others I have had. For my entrée I selected the drunken noodles, mainly because other Yelpers seemed to love them. Mine came with chicken, which I think is the default meat for the dish on this menu, and they were okay. The serving was more than enough and I ended up taking half of it home. Once I had arrived home, less than an hour after I finished eating, I experienced what I am positive was the worst case of food poisoning that I have ever had, I will spare you the gory details. It's imperative to note that another Yelper believes that she experienced the same thing after her meal here. It is also imperative to note that this meal was the only one I had this day and can therefore not be attributed to any other food eaten. So, taking into consideration that I found the food to be just okay, and the epic food poisoning that I experienced afterwards, I cannot give this place more than one star. If I had not gotten so sick, I probably would have given it three stars. Proceed at your own risk.

So I finally made it to Thai Chef for lunch and my friend and I both ordered lunch specials. There were several entrees to choose from (we got pad thai and thai curry) and rice, salad and a veggie roll were included for $6.95. We were really impressed that it only took about 5 min for our food to come out. The food is good but I still prefer some of the other Thai restaurants in town. Still, based on the speed and the price, this a great alternative to a fast food lunch and I definitely plan on going back.

This place is my first choice for Thai food. As you may have noticed Thai places are all over Fort Walton Beach but what makes this place different is 1) the pricing, 2) quick service, and 3) its delicious. Also they have some hefty portions. My favorite is the drunken noodle. And for all you hotheads out there, they are not F***ing around when they say THAI HOT its for real.

This has become my go-to Thai place. It is super close to where I live and they have great Drunken Noodles! Plus they have great Fresh Rolls with a peanut sauce. Their Pad Thai Chicken is also pretty good.

Great food, horrible service! GET IT TO GO! I will never eat in this place again! I have been there twice, they take for ever just to acknowledge you and get your drinks and nevermind the long wait for your food. I've never been to a restuarant and sat there being ignored! TAKE IT TO GO!

This is my favorite place in Fort Walton Beach for Thai food. The flavors are incredible and the variety amazing. They aren't afraid to roll on the heat if that's what you want but they know how to keep it mild for the less adventurous. They have a huge menu and service is always prompt.

Yum! I love this place. We ordered Green Curry and Pad Thai, both were delicious. Their portions are big. I could only eat half of the Pad Thai, so we had leftovers for the next day. I highly recommend.

We heard pretty good things about this place from an owner of a Japanese restaurant and decided to check out the place yesterday for lunch. They just opened 3 months ago and have been really busy during lunch time except yesterday, Veterans' Day. We had a Thai curry, a phad Thai and a tom yum kung and they were all delish!! I'm sure I will stop by more often since it's so close to my office.
