Excellent seafood and excellent service. Expect to bring the bank. Good seafood is the filet mignon of the sea! Ouch.

Most of the seafood they provide is extremely fresh but remember you will be paying a premium for the items that they have. An example being that "fresh" salmon was in the mid to high teens per pound while going up the road to publix it was 8.99. Pretty much looked, smelled, and to the touch appeared to be the same salmon. So in the end that's where the loss of stars comes from. Yes their shrimp are fresh, wow look at the red snapper until you notice they left too much of the blood line in there until after you get it home, and ehhh I can find the same salmon, mussels, lobsters, and clams up the street for much less. There is a reason to come just make sure you are getting what you are paying for instead of just paying more.

I was looking for fresh fish and pretty disappointed with what I was finding at the area supermarkets. I learned about Pelican Seafood Company at the local Farmer's Market. (BE SURE TO GRAB A COUPON AT THE FARMER'S MARKET) I stopped in on a Sunday night shortly before closing time. I was greeted by 2 of the nicest guys. On top of how nice they were, they were super helpful in me selecting the perfect meal for my family. The overall selection of fresh seafood is the best I've found in town. I thought I died and went to seafood heaven when I spotted the standup cooler packed with a variety of smoked fish dips. They also have a freezer stocked with seafoods, soups, bisques, etc. In addition to the seafood, they carry a very nice selection of spices and other must-haves for perfect seafood. Pelican Seafood Co. carried everything I required to prepare a great meal for family! I will be back sooner than later. Hmmm... I think I'll have to pop in today after working up my appetite for fresh seafood writing this review!

No grocery store can compare with this fresh seafood. Yes the prices may be higher than a publix etc. but quality is by far better. Great variety, super friendly staff, can't be beat!

Been coming to the area for years and buying seafood here. Consistently good selection and quality. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. This place is always at the top of our list. They just started cooking seafood baskets under the trees out front on Saturdays that are killer! $6 for snapper and grouper with fries and cole slaw!! Fresh and cheaper than you could make it at home!

This fish market is a local treasure. I've been visiting Ft. Pierce on and off for years, and I always go to Pelican for the best seafood. Yes, the prices are higher, but the quality is so worth it. In fact, I'm saving money because I am eating better than at any restaurant in Ft. Pierce or Vero Beach. I have never tasted mahi mahi, squid. snapper, flounder and pompano as good as what Pelican carries. Also, we tasted their home made soups for the first time recently and the crab/asparagus soup and conch chowder are superb - "You can't get that in a restaurant!"

Awesome little fish market! Husband and I stopped in after spending the morning at the beach. Was greeted warmly by the guys behind the counter. They also gave several samples of their tuna salad and smoked salmon. DELICIOUS!! Yeah it may cost a little more than walmart or publix but the difference in taste is apparent! Very cool local market, definitely going back!

Great selection, great quality, friendly staff. Prices are higher than other places (ie grocery stores etc), but the quality is far superior. Will definitely be back next time we are in Vero.

I am so lucky to have found this gem which happens to be on my drive home from work. The fish is always the freshest. Picked up a pound of tuna the other night. Incredibly fresh as always. Jumbo shrimps are always the best along with their scallops, dolphin and grouper, etc. Their salmon is to die for. The guys that work there are very friendly and do a great job.

have to say I found the prices high too but for those who are willing to pay a little extra for freshness and top quality this is your place to find it . right on about the guys their too. I am heading back to ft. pierce and I looked this up because I must have that fish dip! they have 3varieties and the guys will help you find just which one suits your taste. this place is a gold mine!

Went in for salmon today (first time ever) and the price per pound was $14.95. I was aware that Publix had fresh salmon on sale for $10.99. Sales associate (owner?) Claimed they were the best but I can't afford a $4 difference when I need to buy 2lbs (totaling $8 in savings). The swordfish looked amazing but again, salmon is already a treat for me and the funds are limited. I would encourage the owner to look at local sales to have comparable prices.

Buyer beware! Prices aren't shown alongside the fish and I ended up paying $27.95/pd. for snapper! My own fault for not paying attention. I bought the fish plus a few other things and assumed it was the other things that were costly. It wasn't til I got home and looked at the fish wrapper that I realized what had happened. I was sure it was a mistake so I called and was told that indeed the price was correct. When I asked why I was told "Because we're the best there is" Maybe the best, but not worth 4x what every other fish market in the area is charging. I won't be going back!
