This place seems to want to cater to the elderly only. They were pleasant and joking around with every take around us and were all elderly customers. Our waitress was short and kinda bitchy with us. Our food was average but everyone said it could of been hotter. The meals that should of had cheese only had a trace. If they only want to serve to the elderly then put a sign up saying so and we won't waste our time

Just a comfortable little breakfast place...staff is friendly, coffee cup is always full and the pancakes are delicous.

I would give 0 stars if possible. Two friends and I rode in on our motorcycles, when we walked in we were told that theybwouldnt be seating for 30 minutes to and hour because of a kitchen "emergency", they have an open kitchen and I could see the cooks making food. So we said ok we will go some where else, as we are outside discussing were to go, we watched a truck pull up, the passengers get seated right away and have there order taken. Because we are young guys on motorcycles is our money no good here??? I work in a restaurant and probably tip better then most of the people that come in to this shithole

Excellent food and atmosphere. Went there on a whim and never heard of the place. Checked it out for their breakfast. We had the country fried steak, and omelet, pancakes and waffles. Everyone I was with were satisfied with their dishes. Food came out very fast. Only thing we didn't get to order right away, that took a little while.

This place was a joke. I ordered blueberry pancakes. Cost $9.00 for 3 child size pancakes. They were about 3 1/2 inches in diameter. "Come on" for 9 bucks!! My wife ordered pecan pancakes. Same kind of price, but she got 5 thin pancakes (about the same diameter) with pecan "dust" in the pancakes. The pecans must have been put thru a processor that chopped them so fine they could barely be identified as pecans. As a matter of fact had we not known what was supposed to be in the pancake we probably would not have been able to visually identify it as pecans. Bad experience. Won't be back.

Our waitress was friendly and the service was ok. However, I am not sure if me and some of the other people here visitied the same restaurant. The location in Fort Pierce seriously needs to be cleaned. The floors were dirty and had patches in them, the ceiling was in need of repair, the place just needs to be CLEANED. Its obvious that they moved into an older building, set up some chairs, put a signed out and opened for business. The waitress began taking our orders with telling us all the things they didn't have. Mindful of that I made my order. She came back to tell me they were out of the ingredients for omlet. My omlet was undercooked and my side dish had onions in it--which I don't like. I sent 95% of my meal back to the kitchen. My spouse got a sandwich. The meal was ok beside the fact that I believe they went to publix and purchased crossaints, etc. and made the meal from there. The entree was seriously something I could have made in my kitchen. I agree with another reviewer--they will not be in business very long. We made a previous visit to this location at 3:45 on a satruday. We were told that the grill was closed! The place closes at 4:00pm. We will not return.

Good food at a good price. Food came out SUPER fast! Some people are reviewing this place as if it's a high-end restaurant... it's NOT, nor does it claim to be. It does have A/C, but there is a musty smell right when you walk in. Service was friendly. Probably the biggest toast I've ever had! I ordered the skillet, which was tasty. They should use shredded cheese instead of sliced, but if that's my biggest complaint at a restaurant, I'm doing pretty good!

I've passed this place a million times. I was referred when getting my car serviced down the street and boy am I glad .....The breakfast is addictive.. When you first walk in you realize that its been here for a while and that there are many regulars too..Once u have a skillet or a pancake u understand why they don't have to advertise the breakfast does it itself.. Food is ready fast and has that old fashion taste.. The staff is friendly and the cooks come out to make sure your happy.. A great place for breakfast in Fort Pierce

I took my grandkids here, we all loved it! The kids got their food exactly the way they wanted it. I opted for the bannas foster pancakes, and can I say OMG! It was the best ive ever had. Our server was very friendly and interacted with the kids, talking to them not at or around; allowing them to place their own orders. All in all it was a very good experience and we will deffinately be going back!

The food here is sooo good. Portions are average size. What ever they do with their potatoes is amazing keeps me coming back for more

What can I say. Some of the best pancakes I've ever tasted. Great Service and is a very popular place!. My Mom and My Dad were with me during this time. They had the Papa Bear which is what my dad had and my mom had an English muffin and toast. Both said they loved it! 5 Stars! Will be back! I PROMISE!

Nothing here wowed me but the establishment was clean (they must have read some of the previous reviews) and the customer service was excellent. The breakfast was your basic stuff and I can't say I was wowed by any of it but it was decent. One nice thing I appreciated was that my egg wasn't overcooked into oblivion. They state on their menu that they use Oscar Mayer bacon--a fact I find hardly impressive since Oscar Mayer bacon is hardly impressive (blech!) Overall, a decent breakfast but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Also, don't expect real maple syrup with your pancakes. It's not even an option which is why I would never order pancakes from such a place. On the plus side, the OJ is fresh squeezed (a must in Florida!) and is simply awesome!

First time here, I was lured in by the sign for raspberry Crepes. I guess that's what I should have ordered! My Mom and I came here for breakfast on Sunday around 11:30. I gave them 2 stars, 1 for the side of pancakes and 1 for the service. It's not the waitress' fault that the rest of the food SUCKS! I had to send my breakfast back twice, yes twice. The first time they brought me the wrong thing. The second time I got the right thing, smoke polish sausage w/ eggs and potatoes. I took one bite of the sausage and it was ice cold, GROSS!!!! My Mom got the Mexican skillet which was just OK. Needless to say, I won't be coming back. Crepes or no crepes.

If you're here as a single & there's a seat at the counter they'll let you sit but they tell you up front you won't get served right away. Not even a glass of water! Food was good though, and once I got service that was good as well.

Okay, so give em a little slack, it was mother's day, but the experience was awful. I ordered a combo that was supposed to have 2 eggs, 2 pieces of French toast, 2 sausages and 2 pcs of bacon. I was asked what kind I juice I wanted and was told by the waitress that it came with my meal. So after she went through the list I ordered cranberry juice. The meal was delivered and I was as done with it as I could be and I still didn't have the juice after asking for it a second time. When it was brought to me it was tomato juice. When the server realized the error and I was trying to say never mind, I was asked if I wanted it to go. So I said sure. It was delivered in a small stryo and lidded cup. My husband suggested I should check it before we left. So I did and guess what it was raspberry something so I left it sitting on the table. So now for the rest of the meal.. 2 pieces of French toast turned out to be one piece of bread cut in half so actually it was two pieces but not two pieces, come on! The two pieces of sausage were like microwavable precooked rubbery really bad stuff. my husband's potatoes which he specifically asked to have crispy were white, soggy, totally not crispy not browned at all potatoes that you could have mashed up with your fork and made mashed potatoes out of. The eggs he ordered on the well side were so well that you could have bounced the yolk off the floor. I had a cup of coffee that cost $2.99 that's outrageous needless to say we will not be going back to the Golden Bear pancake house ever. And it's a shame because we live really close to it and it would be so convenient if it were reasonably priced and good.

Stopped in for breakfast with my mother and hubby. Was already very crowded with many wanting to try this new place. Hubby had the Mexican Skillet...eggs, hashbrowns, chorizo, cheese, sour cream salsa, etc. His verdict was very good but he likes the chorizo we have at home better...and that's from WalMart so go figure. :) Mom had her usual highly inventive, goin' out on a limb breakfast of eggs, sausage links, potatoes, and raisin toast. She is not hard to please but did say the sausage was of superior quality. I chose the chopped steak (burger) with eggs and the hashbrown casserole. Casserole was very, very good with cheese and onions...I love getting a burger with breakfast at these type of places as they will usually cook it the way I like it...barely. Yep, take your groans elsewhere...I get enough of those from family. :) Ok...so the food was good and service was good BUT here's the stunner (at least to me)...all of these meals came with a choice of bread...not unusual right?? I chose the sourdough, Mom as I said the raisin toast...could have had english muffin, white or whole wheat toast...still no shocker...but guess what the other option is??? 3 pancakes! Yes! So hubby chose that and there, next to his skillet, sat a stack of flapjacks! So, in essence, with that choice you are having 2 breakfasts. So, bottom line...all that food, plus coffee, hot tea, iced tea, and tomato juice for a total of $33 sans tip, averaging $11 pp. I know cheaper breakfast eats can be had but I think it was worth it and, if you like a grand slam type breakfast, this would be a go. For myself, I can see going back BUT I do prefer Allen's for the crunchy fish...just cause I love it. :) Hubby said to please note that the coffee mugs should be larger...whatever coffee drinker! :)

My husband and I try hard to support local businesses. We were eager to try a new restaurant in town called The Golden Bear Pancake House and Restaurant. We went on a Sunday morning. I would say the restaurant looked about halfway full. We were pleasantly greeted as soon as we entered and seated immediately. Pros: Service was great! The menu is intriguing with quite a lot of options that you can not find anywhere else in town. Such as Crepes, Skillets and a great variety of unique Omelettes. Portions are very large and the prices are reasonable. I ordered the Western Crepe which was quite tasty. It came with two potato pancakes which were good. My husband ordered Down South, which is a kicked up Biscuit and Gravy dish. He said it was just o.k. His home fries came out under cooked and cold. We had already overheard another person sending them back even before we received our food order. If you already know you aren't cooking them enough by one complaint, don't send them out the same way to another customer. Coffee was was hot and strong. Husband said the coffee saved him from completely frowning on the place. Cons: 1. As soon as we entered the building we noticed how hot it was inside. The A/C needed to be pushed down at least another 10 degrees. The building is very old. It has been around forever and survived multiple hurricanes. Therefore, there is a musty smell inside when the temperature is too warm. It also gives an impression of not being clean when you have that musty smell. I think this may have been the downfall of the numerous other restaurants that have tried to remain open in that location. We contemplated leaving, but decided to stick it out. It was hot and uncomfortable though. We were sticking to the vinyl booth seats! 2. CLEAN the window sills! There are dead ants and other debris covering the window sills in the front room. This is unacceptable and poor management! 3. Get real menus. Their menus are the To Go paper kind. Again, this just leaves an impression of not being clean. You can not wipe down paper menus. Imagine how many people have touched those menus and they have never been cleaned? Print on the menu is too small as well. If not for the bugs and other debris on the window sills and the smell, I would give them a second chance based on the food, but I can not deal with a restaurant not being overly meticilous with keeping all areas of the facility tidy! I really hope they get on top of this. I am always sad when another restaurant closes in our town.

Too bad that owner/manager is such a jerk to his employees because food is good. He is very loud, micromanages and downright yells at them in front of customers. I feel sorry for these hard working people. I asked a waitress why she works there and she whispered that she needs the job. He made my dining experience a nightmare. I left there angry with a lump of pancakes in my stomach.

Raw pancakes (how do you do that?), raw potatoes, overcooked eggs. I hate that brown crispy edge that can for around sunny side eggs when you fry them, mine had way more than I could stand. The potato casserole is the strangest I have ever seen boiled, diced potato with 12 shards of shredded cheese....that is it, nothing else not even a pinch of salt. This is the third visit-three strikes your out.
