Wonderful little coffee shop. Upsets me that there aren't many reviews for it (or in the area for any place actually). The lady up front, didn't catch her name, blonde, was very friendly and helpful. I told her what I was into and aiming for and she chose a coffee out for me that was delicious. It's reasonable pricing, less than $4 for a small which is still enough coffee for most people. The decor is great and the nooks inside are awesome. Check this place out.

If I lived in the area, I would definitely be a regular. The coffee is quite good! They roast they're own, so it's nice and fresh. They have a nice food menu as well if you need something to eat with your latte. There's not a ton of seating, but they have a few nice booths that offer a bit a privacy if you wanna hide out and read.

If you are looking for a corporate strategy to handle throughput at peak times, you will not see it here. If you are seeking serious food selections to go with it, you will find a small selection of adequate items. If, however, you are looking for a serious cup of coffee, and other coffee associated items, you are definitely in business. On the side street of the small L-shaped strip mall, not easily visible from the street, this place is definitely for those who want a serious cup of coffee, or may want accoutrements for coffee at home.

This is one of those reviews that one does solely with one goal. I so hope the owner of "The Grind" will see it, consider it and maybe even embrace a bit of it to make her (his?) shop better and more successful. We were in the Ft Myers area for just a few days and, suffice to say, this part of FL has so far escaped the tsunami of truly great coffee shops elsewhere in America. Even in FL, places like Panther in Miami or Volta in Gainesville give real hope to e future of quality joe in the sunshine state. In the SW below Tampa, The Grind in Ft Myers may (and I really have to stress "may" since I didn't do an exhaustive scan) offer the best hope for the future. This is a place that roasts on site! Their coffees, which appear to be of higher quality, represent most of the world's coffee-growing regions! Nice people staffing the shop! And very fast and free wifi. I got a download speed or around 16 Mbps FYI! So, how could The Grind REALLY up its game in a way that would make sense not only for customers but also for the business? 1. Close a bit later than 3pm. The shop sits in a busy shopping mall in a well-trafficked part of Ft. Myers close to the historic downtown. Even a modest change of a 5pm close would likely appeal to many. Later than that would require more data on nighttime foot traffic, nearby restaurants and population demographics and psychographics than I have. 2. For the love of God, please introduce a brew method that best represents your passion for coffee! The only way to get a fresh brewed cup here is with a large, stainless-steel device they call a French Press. Of course, we all know that isn't a French Press but that's not the point. It's too large. The only size offered is about 20 oz! So two people can't realistically try two different brews from two different regions or whatever. And, presses like this usually produce a grittier, cloudier cup with sediment. Introducing pour-overs (or 'hand pours' as they're sometimes called) would do a huge amount to realize the flavor, mouth-feel and aroma potential for the beans they're roasting. In Seattle, New York, Chicago, or even Miami, we might talk about steampunks, vacuum siphons, clever and the other brew methods typical of better shops. But some of those are more expensive and require more staff training than probably needed in Ft Myers. Get a few Hario V.60s with good-quality filters. Learn how to use them with proper patience, and focus on grind, bloom and temperature. I bet even the owner(s) would be astounded at the in-cup results! That's all for now. Want to keep this from getting too long and focus it on just the two above things the shop could do at very minimal cost. These two things (especially the brew method) wouldn't just excite coffee aficionados in the Ft Myers area, drive social media buzz, visit frequency and customer delight. They'd also likely be great for The Grind's bottom line with very minimal marketing (e.g. A sandwich board out front, a chalkboard inside with the day's fresh roast coffees, maybe an updated "about us" here on Yelp). Best of luck to The Grind! It's such a nice shop with so many things going for it that have kept it in business nearly a decade. Upping their game a bit in sensible and cost-effective ways might make the next decade even better than the last. Looking forward to my next visit!

This is a great place! We vacation in the area every year and, since we are coffee snobs, found this place several years ago. We generally only go to coffee houses that roast their own coffee so this was a pleasant surprise to find in the area. I am so glad that they have been able to stay in business and see that they have opened another location. I only wish they were open in the evenings. The coffee is excellent and the service is always friendly. If you live nearby, please check them out!

IMO the Grind has the best coffee in Fort Myers. Every cup I've had here has been delicious. I make my own coffee at home with a french press and areo press and my favorite beans to use come from the grind. When making coffee the freshness of the beans is critical and to have them roasted a few days before use is a huge plus. Their roast is spot on, I like a light to medium roast and their espresso is my go to roast. Like a few other yelpers have mentioned I'd be a regular but it's a bit out of my way.
