Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

My husband and I went here for lunch and we enjoyed our meal very much. I had chicken veggie pasta which was delicious and it had fresh veggies that were cooked beautifully. My husband had the chicken parmigiana which he enjoyed. He said that it tasted fresh and it was made with real stewed tomatoes. Then we finished our meal with a delicious rice pudding which was creamy with some crunch from the macadamia nuts and the broiled sugar topping. I also had a cappuccino which is the best cappuccino in Fort Myers! The restaurant is very clean and the service was great. We enjoyed our time at Mina's and we recommend it for anyone.

I sat down and ordered a glass of Malbec, which was delicious, and the waiter set down some bread and butter. "Psssht. Who needs bread with Latin food?," I thought. Twenty minutes later I was sopping up the delicious Tequila Añejado sauce on my Mariachi Chicken with that entire loaf of bread and it all made sense. The rice served with my dish was perfectly cooked and may be the best rice I ever had. My Gorgonzola salad was also very well prepared with just the right amount of dressing and the coconut crème brûlée is a must-try dessert. This is a fantastic little restaurant. If you enjoy Latin food, it's the place. I understand that they also have Italian food, but I didn't try any.

BACK TO FAIRLY GOOD I had quite a good impression of this place. My last time here was lovely. I hadn't been back here for a while, so I rather eagerly made the effort to stop in for lunch. I had a wildly overpriced glass of Pinot Grigio, an average Caesar Salad and an order of French fries. The fries were practically inedible, soggy and with way too much salt. The service was impersonal. This is a small place, both the service and the quality of the food need to improve for them to survive in the long run. There are just too many nice alternatives for lunch.

Overated! Yelp let us down. This place is no 4.5 stars. Our 2 veal dishes were very thin and chewy (not good). Should have been tender. Caesar and spinich salads were good and very reasonably priced at 3.99. Plantains were good. Caprese appertizer was good. Service was decent. Veal with pasta had too much water and grease; splashed. Won't go back.

A friendly family owned and operated Bistro. Friendly, helpful and knowledgable server, Andre. Bread came hot and homemade. Ordered the spaghetti pasta with Bolognese - Chef's signature meat sauce. Perfect blend of flavors and the pasta served "Al Dente" (to the tooth). Served with a glass of chianti and finished with a macchiato. Food five stars, service five stars and atmosphere four stars.

Great pictures of there dishes so we gave it a try ..from the appetizers to the entrées to the desert. Place was a great find ! Service was awesome.. Great job! Got the lamb special... Meat fell off the bone. Friend got the veal francese, fantastic, added capers with it but the Ecuadorian rice didn't go with the dish.....sub out pasta! Our waiter Andre was great. Also calamari was tasty but I think they need to work on the sauce! Great spot. Great food. Bravo Andre!

Love everything about this restaurant. Friendly & courteous staff. Quick service or if they are busy they still acknowledge you and let you know they will be with you shortly. I've had several dishes from their menu and I have yet to dislike one.... Highly recommended! Try the Ropa Vieja, my favorite!

Found MiNas on yelp and trip advisor and it was all said it was. Party of six sampled appetizers and multiple entrees. All were fabulous. Veal dishes, fresh catch special, pastas, and sauces were fresh and homemade. Served by the son of the owner and chef. Great family restaurant. Wish I lived local so I could eat there often.

My family (me, wife, and 13yo daughter) came here and we all loved our food. I had the Mar E Monte and it was awesome.

Food is superb. Price is average and a few items are a little pricey but the food makes up for it. The staff is amazing. Very polite and speedy service!

First time here. Excellent service. Our server definitely knew the menu which is a rare find these days. Food was great and the tiramisu is on par. We'll be back and definitely recommend trying this spot out when in Ft. Myers.

My husband and I decided to give Mina's a second try after a good meal with spotty service when they first opened. We came in tired, hungry and frankly not expecting the wonderful meal we were served. The food was delicious and creative. Escargot in a tomato cream sauce. Sea bass in a light wine w sundried tomato and artichoke hearts. And the filet was perfect. Service was spot on. We highly recommend and save room for dessert.

Fresh, authentic, delicious ! We come every chance we can. Andre runs a terrific restaurant.

You wouldn't expect such great food from a restaurant like this hidden away in a strip mall but everything was great and the service was very friendly.

Minas bistro with excellent service and food. Everything was flavorful and seasoned to perfection. Had the grouper with whole wheat penne. We're going back soon.

My husband and I are world travelers and foodies and we were delighted with our experience. We've never eaten in a combination Italian and Latin restaurant before and both were exceptional. The entrées were great but my favorite was the quinoa soup. We were greeted by and served by the son of this owner/chef Bistro. We could feel the pride the son had for his parents (the chefs) and quality and expertise that it went into the preparation of all the food. The service was great. The food was very reasonably priced. Though the ambience was average, we would highly recommend this place. We'd be delighted to come back again.

We went for lunch and it was excellent. The price is spot on. I ordered Minas Burger and my bf ordered the Parmesan chicken sub. The staff was very nice. They are very enthusiastic about their restaurant and go the extra mile to make everything great including french fries. If I were to describe my burger I would use the word Gourmet.

Just went to Mina's for the first time. Everything was great except for Calamari which was just ordinary and a little fishy. Everything else was very tasty! Only other comment is the bottled water which is what we were brought when asked for water and then charged .99 per bottle, wired and looks tacky on the table! What about just water from the tap and no charge:)

Casual atmosphere with terrific food and service. The spaghetti bolognese is outstanding and my wife loved the grouper special. Very fresh ingredients and generous portions.

My husband decided to try a new place for our anniversary dinner. This restaurant was amazing. The service was friendly and very professional. The food was great and at a very reasonable price. I ordered the Bruschetta Pomodoro as my appetizer. This was definitely the best bruschetta I have ever tasted. My husband had a lobster bisque soup, he was in heaven. He ordered the Ecuadorian Churrasco which was a very juicy steak topped with 2 fried eggs, rice and a side salad. I ordered the veal parmessan with pasta. Both dishes were delicious. Please leave room for dessert, we shared the Tiramisu and it was spot on. We recommend this restaurant. We are definitely going back soon!

Tried it again. This time had house wine which was OK. Then had the Chicken Fiorintina with rice and vegetables. Another gourmet meal! This place is a well kept secret!

Ate at Mina's Bistro after hearing good things. We were so happy we went with another couple. We started with delicious hot bread right out of the warmer and great butter. The appetizers were wonderful- fat potato pancakes with melted mozzarella and great spicy dipping sauce on the side, sausage and peppers which my Italian husband who is a great cook thought were terrific and the mussels and clams in a fabulous tomato/broth. A lot of bread dipping was going on between the light gravy on the sausage and peppers and the gravy with the shellfish. For dinner I had a special which was 2 filet mignon medallions with grilled shrimp and a mushroom/brandy sauce and my sister in law also had a special which was a veal rolatini. Both very delicious. My husband had veal francese, which wasn't made like the traditional way however it was still really tasty and the veal was extremely tender. We didn't have dessert only because we were full. We each had 2 drinks- wine and beer is served. Our waiter was so gracious. I highly recommend Mina'a and look forward to going back in January when I return to Fort Myers as there were many items on the menu I want to try. The couple sitting next to us mentioned that they recently returned from a fabulous trip to Italy but the food in Mina'a is better! Absolutely go and enjoy. They also cook Latin due to the fact of the owners background and those dishes on the menu also sound great. The bill was extremely reasonable for all we ate and drank. Enjoy your meal at Mina's. I know you'll be back to try more dishes.

Father (Jose) and son (Andre) owned restaurant with an Italian-Latin fusion of delectable appetizers, entrees and desserts! This storefront restaurant is tucked away in a strip shopping center, but don't let that fool you. The upscale cuisine in a comfortably casual atmosphere with very attentive service, could not make for a better dining experience. The bread and butter along with every appetizer and entree we ordered got rave reviews from this party of 9. Highlights for me personally were the mozzarella covered plantains and potato cake appetizers as well as the veal parmesan. Would not even hesitate to order the exact same things again!! The desserts with the most praise were the rice pudding, tiramisu and orange sorbet which is served in the peel of the orange. In addition to the food, the service was fantastic. Andre seated us and was our server, and couldn't have been any friendlier or accommodating and was all about our having everything we needed, wanted and prepared to our liking. One of the best meals I've ever had!!! I live in Nashville and can't wait for my next visit to Ft. Myers just so I can get me a little Mina's Bistro fix!!!

Mina's was written up in the News Press early this month so we thought we would give it a go. It claims to be Italian and Latin. However all Italian dishes are served with rice or mashed potatoes ( they were out of the potato so basically rice). We asked to sub. pasta and were told no twice. My husband ordered the Veal Scaloppini Borolo which is veal and supposedly porcini mushrooms it was pretty good but they would not give him a side of pasta for his Italian dinner but instead of rice they offered French fries! I had the Cappellini Mar e Monte Shrimp with Shitake mushrooms. The mushrooms in both dishes were the same and looked like cremini mushrooms. The shrimp in my dish were small and looked precooked. The woman next to me ordered the same thing and pulled out a large sharp piece of plastic or glass from her dish. I ordered a 2nd glass of chardonnay and was told she only had 1/2 glass left. I said I would take it as long as I did not have to pay for it. She said she would have to charge me. At that point I asked for a manager. I never did see a manager but got the small serving of wine. About the wine there is no wine list. it is all cheap stuff when asked about selection you are told Chardonnay, Chianti, Cab, etc.... I really doubt this place will make it. There is no customer service, no real management. Oh and my favorite item on the menu is Chicken Fajitas served over Linguini! So if you want pasta on the side order a latin entrée!!
