Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Looks like some folks have had some gross experiences here, but of the limited options in this terminal I'm really glad I picked this one. Was a little pricey, but the staff was friendly and the personal pizza was surprisingly tasty.

I just spent ten bucks on the grossest personal pizza I have ever had. The dough is raw, the sauce is non existent and the cheese is oily and disgusting.

I had the meatball sliders which is a 3-meatball sandwich on three rolls still attached. You get to choose your sauce: traditional, spicy or pesto. I had the spicy which I thought was actually spicy and I eat a lot of spicy food. The meatballs were good and were slightly toasted. At $10 I think it's still pricy for an airport restaurant. $8 for a personal pizza. The service is quick and very friendly. They were also giving out samples of pizza which was also good, but I wasn't in the mood for pizza.

Stopped here for breakfast bagels before our flight. Not many choices in this terminal. Ordered a multigrain bagel with egg, cheese, and ham, and an OJ. Bagel was fresh!! Eggs were a weird gray color (powdered?) see photo! Cheese tasted like plastic and the whole sandwich had an oniony flavor not accounted for since there's no onions on this sandwich. Also took too long for a sandwich, waited while there was lots off yelling in Spanish coming from the kitchen. Next time I'll go to Starbucks.

Customer service here is extremely terrible. I asked a young lady there what the meatballs come with and she was really rude. All I wanted to know is that if the meatballs came with noodles, her attitude was uncalled for with a simple question. Noticed that the customers were being rushed. I don't recommend this place to anyone!!

One of two choices near my gate. I smelled onions as I walked near. Lured me in. The personal sized pizzas on display looked tasty. Surprisingly they were. Prices on point for airport choices. They have a "to go" cooler for those in a hurry. Not too shabby considering.

Nothing like raw pizza and a miserable bartender to make your upcoming flight better. After sitting at the table and being ignored by the waitress for at least 10 minutes we went up to the bar to order our own drinks and food. Misersble

Spent a good bit of time here waiting for our flight. Great service. Beer was not over priced. Food was OK but nothing to shout about.

The service was pitiful. Lady at counter was rude. Didn't explain or communicate with me or any clients. Arguing employees while taking oders. She had a aweful attitide. I would avoid this place and go hungry if at all possible. Employees like them should be fired.

One of the best little pizzas I've had. The spicy sauce was incredible. The pepperonis and sausages were great. The meatballs were the MVP. Some of the best meatballs I've ever tasted. The ladies working were more than friendly, and one even told me I could sit down and she would bring the pizza out to me when it is ready. I wish I was in the area more, so I could eat here more often.

With traveling with the same airline you seem to get stuck in the same terminal and with the same food options which can get a boring. As we always fly Delta there isn't much of a good food assortment available so I was happy to see that Torn Basil was now an option which meant PIZZA! We took a seat at the bar and was immediately welcomed by the bartender. She took our drink orders and gave us menus and was back with our beers in no time. The draft beers were smooth, clean, and fresh tasting and the glasses are larger than your usual pint. A cool touch is they serve each beer in it's brand beer glass! We decided to split the Bronx Bomber pizza and were pleasantly happy with our decision. The best part of the pizza was the nice thick crispy crust! Cooked perfectly with it still being doughy inside the crust! The sauce has a nice spice level and adds to the flavor! A really nice pizza! And although these are "personal" size pizzas the slices are quiet large! I also thought the prices were good considering airport pricing. They have a full bar with a lot of bar stools and table service. I am glad we now have a better choice than flavorless bagels! I intend on visiting each time while flying out!

Traveling and low carb diets don't really go together so I was pretty pleased when I found the Torn Basil (inside FLL terminal 2) would give me a meatball platter with no carbs! There's probably sugar in the tomato sauce, but hey I'm trying! I was given the option between 3 and 6 meatballs and chose 3, only to find my plate had 4. So either I misheard, or someone was being nice, or they wanted to get rid of old meatballs on me lol but I'll take it. Between spicy or regular sauce I chose regular, and provolone or mozzarella I chose mozzarella. The meatballs themselves are pretty dry, but I was able to slather enough sauce around to make them decent. 3 (or 4) meatballs and a water for $8.58 isn't all that bad in my book, especially when talking airport prices!

I am a flight attendant and I stopped by the Torn Basil for some meatballs. The meatballs were not too bad but a few days after i returned home I got a fraud alert. Apparently my card was used twice in Naples, Florida while I was home in Texas. The only place I used my card in Florida was at the Torn Basil in Ft Lauderdale. Actually it was the only place I used the card at all on that trip. I don't know if that was the origin of the theft but it sure seems possible. Hopefully they will track down the thief.

So I've been sitting here for an hour, listening to a very obnoxious Ace Ventura (Matthew) behind the bar loudly sing off key, complain to other workers about family, the management, not being able to sell Cuban sandwiches behind the bar, squirrels in his yard that only like almonds, trying to get the best time off... WITH HIS FOOT PROPPED ON THE EDGE OF THE SERVING AREA BEHIND THE BAR. Ew. When I went to order a breakfast pizza at 10:12, I was informed breakfast ended at 10. Well no s--- Sherlock, but I had to sit for 15 min before getting a menu & then another 15 waiting for you to take my order. Guy next to me just asked what Hefeweizens are available & the female server said "uh, yeah we don't sell that brand." Things this "Pizza & Meatball" joint is out of: Stella, bud light, meatballs, 3 of 7 kinds of ($9 microwave) pizza, & pretty much anything needed to make any of the drinks in their 'Specialty Menu'... I'm just going to keep drinking until I forget this place.

The smell will lure you in, but I would recommend to keep walking. We specifically asked an employee if they would serve us if we sat at a table and they said yes. We waited for about 10 minutes before just walking up to the bar for service. I order a drink and asked about food. The bartender, Carol, told me to just walk over and get it myself. Fine, kinda defeated the whole purpose of having a dining room though. After paying $18 for that one drink, I still was hopeful the buzz and food would be worth it. Meatballs were old. The Classic Pza I order with mushrooms sat in the window for easily 10 minutes before I had to go over and inquire what was taking so long. Mind you, I wasn't very far away, just standing patiently over by the cashier for the pizza. My final breaking point was getting the pizza, biting into it, and finding raw dough in the center. Just absolutely the biggest waste of time, money and energy in dealing with incompetent people.

The worst service. And no one in line. Please replace with icebox cafe

Slow and rude. DO NOT EAT HERE. Food is mediocre, anyway. Employees do not know how to communicate.

Mediocre frozen pizza for $10. Waters for $5. Innatentive lazy workers who actually agreed with me about how bad this place is.

I am a frequent flyer and find myself here usually once a week. This is far better than the place use to be so I assume new management but they started off so good and slipped. In the last 3 out of 6 weeks I go in for meatballs and the are OUT. How do you run out of meatballs when you only serve personal pizzas and meatballs. The owner should spend some time her. It is clearly not managed by the owner. This airport has nothing to offer so I was pleased when I saw the place cleaned up with decent food. Not it is quickly falling to the level of the other substandard establishments here. When they are very busy forget about service as they have one bartender and one waitress. When they have the meatballs they are very good, pass on the pizza but the management is a mess.

If you like really gross doughy pizza, or a pre-made salad sitting in a refrigerator, or getting charged $16.50 per martini, then I have the place for you! Here's why this place survives: there's literally one other choice in the entire terminal. I've never been charged that much for a martini, not even with good vodka in a fancy NYC restaurant. Never. When I inquired, the waiter replied, "oh, well, a martini is double the alcohol, so we charged you twice per martini."??? If you're making someone's drink a double, you must communicate that up front. Not surprise them at the end when you present the bill. Basically, I order two drinks and paid for 4!

For an airport, I have to say they make a pretty good pizza. I got the Little Italy and it was actually pretty impressive. The size is perfect for one person and the ingredients, red sauce, etc were better than I would have imagined. Always nice to be positively surprised.
