It's NOT SHUE MEI ANYMORE! So I've been ordering take out for a long time from Shue-Mei Food was always good and delivered fast. Apparently Shue-Mei is gone and Happy House Chinese took the phone number. Obviously new cooks because the food has changed substantially for the worse! Don't be deceived like I was! They don't tell you they took over the restaurant, but the food sure shows! My house special rice was tasteless and salty food quality went WAY down! I spent $38.00 for take out and most of it went in the trash. VERY DISAPPOINTING. You know you get food and it doesn't taste quite right, like chicken was slimy, and tasted like they use old oil or something. I would never eat at Happy House because the outside looks dirty and un-inviting. I drive by it all the time and it just looks like I would never eat there. If they don't care about what you see outside, just think of what the kitchen looks like! SO I was surprised when that's what was on my receipt. FYI: I drove by and Shue-Mei has a big space for lease sign where they used to be, so they are gone :(

This was my favorite take out restaurant. But now when you call the number it is actually Happy House. They didn't disclose this when calling and when asked they said that the two restaurants merged. This was not the case. I'm going to miss Shue Mei. Happy House does not compare.

Place is the most underrated Chinese restaurant around. My favorites is the beef chowfun, shrimp w/mixed vegetables, or any roll especially the spider roll. Try it if you are nearby you won't be disappointed. Btw their chowfun is better than woo-hops IMO. You know Chinese food if you know who woo-hops is.

Typical greasy chinese joint, it wasnt bad, just average. Barely any seating room (6 or so), but dont seat in or stand inside for too long, you will be covered in greasy believe it or not, I did.

Don't think this place would pass a health inspection. Nice staff and cheep prices but food had no flavor.

Worth a solid three stars as a take out joint if you want the basics. Kung Pao Chicken was flavorful. Definitely better than China A on Commercial Blvd.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
