Decent value for money. I love the smell of the rice, but I thought the chicken could have had more meat on eat. But for the price, I can't complain.

As good food as any other Pollo Tropical, but with the single mission of screwing up your drive through order every single time. Oh you want a drink with the tropi chop, which is advertised with one, you better ask for it. Ordered the regular tropi chop? Check your bag before you drive, there is a 90% they packed a small sized one. Ordered sides? Again make sure they are in the bag. After too long I am finally giving up on this location.

We ate here lastnight. After ordering our food I noticed tons of flies all over the place in the dining room. GROSS. They kept landing in the sauces. I thought those sauces should have lids and be cold? I sent the first chicken and ribs back because it was like leather. I've been sick all night and morning and now my 5 year old just pooped in his pants because he couldn't make it to the bathroom fast enough! This place is a DUMP!!!! Clean it up!!!!

It has changed little since my last visit in 2001 - they still have tons of grilled chicken but there's now a whole lot more. I still stuck with my favorite, a half chicken with black beans and rice and a "regular size" side of plantains. You'll want to stop at the fixin's bar and get yourself some chopped onions, especially if you don't have to worry about your breath, and a whole lot of the lime juice. What a flavorful treat and if you can go without the skin from your chicken, a much healthier alternative to the burger places. And so frickin' yummy! Me likey! Come to Charlotte, Pollo Tropical. I'll be your number one customer!

Fast food with a variety of veggies to choose from, this place scores high on my short list of open-late fast food chains. The chicken is real and so are the seasonings, and with rice, beans, yucca, plantains, fries, and more to choose from, you can't beat a trip to Pollo Tropical when you're hungry for something tasty, filling, inexpensive, and relatively healthy. Remember to ask for their cilantro garlic sauce ... it will give your meal a flavor boost for sure. Yum Yelpers, yum.

Not a bad place to grab a casual lunch (to go. Seriously. This is not a place for a "dining experience"). Food is decent and a reasonable option for people following a paleo diet (opt for the chicken combo with a side Caesar). Parking lot is always full and forget pulling in from Oakland Park Blvd and trying to get in line for the drive through during lunch time.

I have to agree with the others who say this is a good idea but the execution is horrible! From the dirty tables and greasy floors to the flies all over the sauces. Good Lord...you risk getting some sort of bacteria poisoning. Then, to top it all off, I went through the drive-thru last night and ordered and PAID for 1/2 a chicken and got only a breast! Frustrating beyond belief. And the services....well, lets just say that they act like they are doing YOU a favor by taking your money...NEXT peruvian fast food chicken franchise....

My co-worker, Pam, suggested that I try the Chipotle Chicken sandwich from Pollo Tropical and being in an adventurous mood, I decided today was the day. I went to the 2011 E. Oakland Park Blvd location with high hopes of getting a sandwich that would quench my desire for spicy!. What an AWFUL experience! "Oh," the order taker said in an annoyed tone, "we're out of chicken sandwiches." That's like McDonalds being out of BEEF. How UNacceptable. Afterall, Pollo is their first name. But I was lucky. She told me without being really nasty. Not so to the next guy in line when he complained about the lack of chicken, "if you don't like it----GET OUT!" she barked. I took a BBQ pulled pork sandwich with guava bbq sauce, yellow rice/veggies and a large diet coke. Set me back $4.99 plus tax. I took it back to my office to eat and after the first meatless bite I opened the sandwich to find about a teaspoonful of pulled pork and a small squirt of bbq sauce I really don't see how this chain stays in business. Or maybe it's just a case of bad management at this location. Whichever, they'll have a hard time getting me to go back to ANY of their locations. I have since learned that Pollo Tropical locations are pften OUT OF CHICKEN. Find more interesting reviews on my blog.

Don't come here if you're hungry or you might die of starvation. The food is good enough, but EVERY TIME I've been here over the past few years it has been a 20 minute wait--GUARANTEED. You want a bowl of soup and nothing more? Their slavish devotion to their broken service system means you wait behind the 15 other people who want multiple meals and all the attendant corrections to their orders. Forget the fact that it takes about 10 seconds to grab a cardboard bowl, scoop the soup into it, cover it and hand it to me while she's waiting for the cook to finish somebody else's meal. I still have to wait for my number to come up in their order system. Too bad. Add to that the sheer volume of noise bouncing off all the hard tiled surfaces and the poor lady behind the cash register desperately trying to hear your order, and you trying to hear her series of questions and you won't be in the mood to eat. I'm done. No more second chances. I'd rather starve to death than wait at Pollo Tropical.

The staff here is nice, but slow. I was here nearly 20 min from time of arrival to the time I got my food. Waaaaay too long for one tropi-chop. Quality of the food is decent. Not great, but not bad. I guess you get what you pay for.

Service was ok Food was dry... After complaining, we got really good chicken. Hot and fresh of the grill breast and wing!! And put some damn soap n the bathroom.. Really!

Started off with the counter gal getting all frazzled when, after placing my order, I wanted to change my drink from a Pepsi to Sprite. Ugh!! After that unwelcoming, un-tropical start, my order of the Mojo Pork plate arrived: small scoop of pulled pork with white onions on top, side of nondescript white rice, and small cup of black beans, all served on a cheap paper plate for 7-bucks. Tables were sticky. Blech! The whole joint, in fact, reeked -- not literally, but figuratively -- of Third-World stickiness.... I knew I should've went to Wendy's right next door.... Will definitely NOT be going there again, nor recommending it to anyone I know.... :( (It's too bad that here, in Florida, they don't post health grades or scores at restaurants. I'd be scared to think what this dive scored....)

Don't be decieved by the great smelling and looking grilled chicken piled on the grill. Cheap place to eat, it's like Qdoba got mixed with KFC and some Carribean spices added. Terribly slow service, the restaurant is also beyond dirty. Flies everywhere and it doesn't look like anyone ever sweeps, mops, or wipes the tables off. The Yuca with garlic is good, pear crossed with a potato, and the guava cheesecake is a little different. The rice, beans, and chicken all dissappoint.

The reason why I love coming to Florida is Pollo Tropical not Pollo Loco. I have been waiting 5 years to eat here again. Don't except to come here for the service because you won't find any, but expect a descent size meal (semi-healthy) with a fair price.

I was looking for a quick lunch away from the usual spots. We thought we would walk in to see what the place looked like.I have not eaten in a fast food restaurant in 20 years as McDonalds et al , make me nauseous after troughing there. For about 13.00 we got 2 beverages(great mango ice tea), and 2 entrees.I had pork with yellow rice, beans tomatoes and onions. This was all very fresh and right off the grill. What was astounding were the sauces that are at the condiment bar. They had a curry mustard sauce and a cilantro garlic sauce. Both tasted home made,.I wish this place would have been in NYC, so much better than a deli or fatty overpriced starbucks stuff.

Prefer this food over any other fast food. Never been inside but I always go through the drive thru. I usually get the 1/4 chicken trio platter. The pulled pork is a mild tasting, tender meat that leaves you wanting more because the portions so small, the ribs are hit & miss depending on what time of day you order. Sometimes they're just right other times they're dry with not enough meat on the bone. The chicken leaves you licking your fingers trying to savor all the flavor & the plantains are soft & delicious! Not a fan of the fries or other sides cuz I never eat them. All meat & something sweet for my belly, lol!!!

One of my favorite fast food places in Fort Lauderdale. When it's raining or I had a long day and don't feel like getting out of my car, I hit up pollo on my way home. The food is very reasonably priced. I usually get the grilled chicken, black beans, and brown rice and a side of waffle fries. Comes out to around $9.

How the heck can you call yourself Pollo Tropical and not have any Pollo?! No, this is not a joke. We flew into Ft Lauderdale from San Diego and hadn't eaten all day and decided to go here for some grilled chicken. To our surprise, we were informed at the drive-through that they had NOTHING on the menu with chicken available since it was almost closing time they hadn't bothered to make enough to make it through the daily hours of operation. Since we were starving we instead got a shrimp salad and grilled plantains. The shrimp was flavorful, but sadly it was cold and chewy. The plantains were warm and barely got me through the night after not eating for 12 hour trip. I'm disappointed Pollo Tropical! Maybe you should change your name to just Tropical since you have no POLLO!

Pollo Tropical is one of my long time favorite restaurants for fast food. It is real food, not processed or made with fillers. It is a healthier option to other fast food chains such as Taco Bell and McDonald's etc.. The Tropichop is delicious grilled meat meal served with black beans and rice. The sweet plantains are always perfectly cooked and tasty. I agree with my fellow Yelpers there is room for the front of the house to be cleaner. However, I typically get my food to go.

I like Pollo Tropical, but stay away from this location. The food is not quite right and, as other report, the place is dirty
(1)Javier B.
An Affordable vegetarian option with their tropichops combos, music is not good and it gets busy at rush hours, plenty of sauces, the rice and beans taste delicious, the brown rice is good but it has too much water, the curry sauce is tasty, a good quick affordable option, open until late!

Cheap, delicious and somewhat healthy. It's Tropical Chicken at it's finest. Of course I always get the small chicken tropichop with everything except tomatoes and it never disappoints. I love the fact that PT is open late as well. It's a great, affordable late night meal or go light for a snack.

After my experience today at the nearest Pollo Tropical here in Fort Lauderdale, the one on Oakland Park Boulevard, I will not be spending any more of my money there. The attitude of the people was terrible. They messed up my takeout order. This required me to return to the store which totally defeats the point of going there in the first place. At best, the food is second-rate (the yellow rice, which should taste of saffron, has no flavor at all). The only thing good about it is that it's quick. However, this afternoon, they messed up my order and wasted my time. When I explained the situation they couldn't even be bothered to crack a smile, much less apologize. I won't return. There's a Cuban restaurant that's nearby. Do yourself a favor and go there instead.
