Eating at Henry's can be a little hit or miss. Most of the time the food is fantastic. Other times....not so much. They are always very friendly and have changed around ingredients in dishes for me without hesitation, so that is cool. Honest conclusion: I am torn between giving them a 3-4 star rating. It should probably be a 3, but considering their flexibility, friendliness and the fact that a young, hard working family seem to be running the joint, I gotta go with 4. In the end, they are at least as good as any other Chinese food place in town, and often better.

Trying new Chinese delivery spots usually results in mediocre food but this, this was below average horrible disgusting food. We have passed by this little spot on 17th street plenty of times and then actually earlier on Saturday when we ordered our food someone said it was good. So that night we decided to place an order with them online. Their online ordering is fairly easy and clear to use, then you get an email after you place your order for confirmation about 10 mins after you already placed your order. No delivery time was quoted but we weren't in any kind of hurry so I figured it would get here when it gets here. About an hour later I received a call telling me that the food was here. Our delivery dinner box came with everything you would need for your meal. Our order included Crab Rangoons which were decent, Egg Drop Soup & Hot and Sour Soup both were not bad. Then for our entrees we split the Beef Chow Mein and Crispy General Tso Chicken and it came with an order of White Rice. Everything about the entrees were horrible. The Beef Chow Mein was mysterious with a hint of pink on the beef and the flavor was odd, the General's was the worse. This c.h.i.c.k.e.n arrived cold and was FAR from crispy; a better word would be soggy. To top off the chickens disappointment the white rice was super dry... Like I've had leftover rice in the fridge for 3 days then tried to pass it off as fresh delivery rice. So in a nut shell, do not order from here, do not recommend this place, and STAY FAR AWAY!

I was so surprised when the delightful, young server came and asked if we wanted WiFi. That just doesn't happen, ever. Normally they need to be beaten to give up the information and more often than not it's something foolish like..."Corporate doesn't approve, it's too distracting." or "No!" (with a grimace) Good strong connection here, much better that AT&T's at my house (I had to complain to T Mobile who sent me a $450 router to boost my signal. That's nothing to do with food, but it to do with the customer's satisfaction overall. This tiny restaurant has good will in spades. The food is also very good and not at all expensive. I had three items that were better than the high priced spread. Henry's is nice and simple with a pleasant fish tank to entertain the diners instead of an uggggly tv screen playing with out any sound or sound too high. I lament not being able to have my favorite Lyle's product to sweeten my tea (Sweet n Low is cheaper by far), but the tea was just fine without any sweetner and so was my overall impression of Henry's.

This is one of the few chinese places open on Sundays, not sure why. Must be a south florida thing. The Woman was very nice to me and made me a special dish without soy sauce due to my food allergy. It was chicken and broccoli with white sauce and chilli. It was very good. She came out to our truck and delivered the food to us and was very nice. The stop was last minute so it wasn't our first choice. We would eat there again.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in this area, small and very clean, the food is made by actual Chinese people which mean is awesome, my waitress had no expression on her face but I guess that's an Asian thing ( relax people is just a joke lol ), she was a great waitress thou. The only no no I guess was the AC was around 77 ish well it felt like it, but at the same time I was eating that Wong soup, and Was wearing 2 T-shirts and jeans + boots so maybe that's why I was feeling a bit hot, but overall was yummy, I keep repeating every time I crave Chinese .

Delicious! Not at all greasy, like some Chinese food. I got hot and sour soup (delicious and non-fatty) and chicken chow mein. The staff was very friendly too! I will DEFINITELY go back! LOVED IT!

Not what it used to be. A little dirty, smells bad and the food has become barely average. I am sad to see a neighborhood favorite deteriorate so badly.

This place has it's ups and downs. The quality of their meat is hit or miss, sometimes great other times not so great. Speed is always very fast. Portions are noticeably small compared to other Chinese restaurants. Their Orange Beef is really excellent, crab rangoons are good too. I usually go here for a quick Orange Beef & Fried rice fix on my way home from work.

Not good... Usually order take out from another place, which is very good, but wanted to try Henry's. To compare, I ordered the Chicken and Broccoli and Kung Pao Shrimp. The Chicken/Broccoli was bland, tasteless, and without sauce. The chicken was dry and tough. The Kung Pao Shrimp wasn't any better. Will not order from them again...

Quite simply the WORST Chinese food I've ever tasted. Period. Does not deserve more review than that.

Pretty standard Americanized Chinese food. Nothing impressive but exactly what you expect when you order food with a number.

The food is pretty good. Stopped by twice during my stay in fort lauderdale. I especially like the deep fried crab rangoon, never had that before in CA. The service is friendly and the food shows up sizzling and fast. Would definitely visit Henry again.

We just left Ft Lauderdale beach on a scorching hot day and my ladyfriend said she was craving Chinese food. I figured, there's gotta be a place on 17th St. right here, so we drove down hoping to see one. Of course we saw Henry's in a strip mall just east of US-1. Going in blind, I figured it would be a standard Chinese place and it was. The inside was nice and looked clean. I liked how the waitress came over right away and poured us each a large glass of ice water. She read my mind! LOL. From 11-3:30 they have the lunch special menu, where you can get a variety of the normal dishes you see at Chinese restaurants for around $5 or $6. My lady had the special fried rice, which I tried and it was really good. They put egg in it, which was nice. Any Chinese fried rice without egg is sub-par, in my opinion. I had the shrimp and scallops with oyster sauce, which was also good. I have no complaints about Henry's. The food was decent but not outstanding, service was quick and attentive, prices cheap. I won't drive over here specifically to go to this place, but if you're on 17th St and want Chinese, Henry's isn't a bad choice.

This place is ok, I like their orange peel beef. The bad thing with this place is the pricing! It is a little expensive for the amount of food they give you.

Quick review since I'm about to hop in a plane back to NY. Went to Henry's during a 4 hour lay over on the way back from D.R. Small place open in Ft. Lauderdale since1959. Older decor with smalll booths along the wall. I got my staple dishes, fried dumplings and wonton soup. The wonton soup was good however nothing surprising in flavor. The dumplings were different than those I have had in NY. Thin wrapper lightly fried round shaped and not greasy. Definitely satisfying. The only gripe I had about the food were the Chinese crispy noodles. They were shaped like shoe strings unlike the flat fried goodness we get at home. Other than that the service was good and the waitress friendly, fast and efficent. If you have time during a lay over or are in the area it's worth a try.

Just looking for something to eat that was close, as far as take-out goes not so bad, had the sesame chicken and pork fried rice, the chicken was fine but the rice.....bleh. total lack of seasoning.

Since 1959? Seriously? My friends were starving so I was out voted. I thought the place looked kinda crappy but I live near Toronto and the best Chinese places look crappy so, I hate to judge before trying. It was bland and extremely disappointing. The worst was the pineapple chicken. It did not have a nice sauce, it was like the pineapples were added to the standard greasy chicken gravy dish and voila, you have pineapple chicken. The inside has not been renovated since 1959, so maybe that's what the sign out front meant...(since 1959...). The bathrooms weren't really dirty, or clean for that matter, but doubled as a broom closet for the stanky floor mop that really needed to be out of sight...just a very tired, substandard restaurant. If you have no tastebuds and are really starving, then I guess it isn't so bad...I mean we didn't die from it....

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
