Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I didn't hate this place. Which is quite the feat given most of the Chinese food in this city is terrible. I ordered off the yelp Eat24 app so the interaction was minimal. Bonus! The food wasn't the fastest I've experienced but it arrived faster than the quoted time. Half bonus. I don't remember exactly what I ordered but I do remember some steamed dumplings that I inhaled and some semi decent general tso's. Not really a place I'd rave about but it's currently my #1 spot for home delivery.

I ordered egg drop soup since they told me hot and sour soup and wonton soup are dark color, I assume they just put soy sauce and vinegar in the soup. The egg drop soup turned out not too good either, I don't know how they cook it but it just tastes kind of gross. I also ordered Kung po chicken and Szechuan beef. I kind of understand That Chinese always being cheap but the somehow you can tell the ingredients are old, the veggie is way too soft like it was old when they cooled it and I also tasted something bad in Kung po chicken. I tried many bites to convince myself that was not bad food but I think something really went bad before they cooked it. The only thing I liked is I like spicy so I asked them to make it spicy and they did it for me. I always order Chinese food when I'm home alone but I've never thought they food could be this bad. I'm not picky, I usually eat everything but I can't finish this one. This is very sad that I can't finish the food since I hate throwing food away. Sigh.

Three and a half stars: Ordered delivery for dinner here. Calling in our order was a little sketchy with the person not giving us any info until we asked such as payment, delivery time, and order amount. Delivery took 26 minutes which was great considering they quoted 45+. We got hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, crab rangoons, pork fried rice, and general tso chicken. Besides the soups everything was good but not great. We have definitely had better but this is far from worse. The soups were below par and were the worse part of our meal with no real flavor to either one. The crab rangoons were generously filled and not overly fried! The pork fried rice had a nice flavor with sudden spicy spots and a good amount of pork! Generals chicken was basic, a little under crispy, and was in a slightly sweet sauce but still good! If you are looking to find a different Chinese spot then this place isn't bad and delivery is super quick!

If I could put -10 stars I would because I just threw $25 & $5 tip worth of the worst slop I have ever put in my mouth in 65 years. The only thing this resembles about NY is escape from NY Riker's Island. Wasn't a Chinese ingredient in the Kung Pao shrimp the Veg. egg foo young was foooey & thought the yellow gravy was a can of cream corn. The 1/2 teaspoon of absolutely tasteless egg roll because I unrolled it. I am so pissed off. BTW, any of the reviews with more than 2 stars are fake.

Food is great, customer service sucks and has a bad attitude. Not to mention they messed up my last order.

I tried this place for the first time last night. It is the best Chinese food I've had since moving here. The quality and preparation is well above the average Chinese place. General Tso's chicken, Mongolian beef, chicken and vegetables...all outstanding. I'm so happy I found this place!

I just got delivery and I paid 30$ and they forget to bring half my order. The food was hot and it was delivered very fast, but I feel like they rushed and that's why they forgot the rest of my food. I would get take out but not delivery. And the food I got was very good. I'm 50/50 on it.

Great food and delivery. The young man who answers the phone is not thrilled to be there at all! Very unenthusiastic and not friendly but I guess that's the take out biz! Cheers

East China is definitely not a restaurant. Though it has one lonely table and two chairs, it's really not meant for dinning. It's a take-out and delivery place that purports and advertises itself to be "New York Style Chinese," which as might be expected, is a far cry from anything even remotely similar to any one of the eight traditionally recognized styles of Chinese cuisine: Anhui, Cantonese, Fujian, Hunan, Jiangsu, Shandong, Szechuan or Zhejiang. Let's just say that their food might pass as Chinese in the minds of a New Yorker but clearly wouldn't cut the muster as such in China. You can stop in to order, phone in, or place your order through their web site. The place small, clean and the folks operating the counter polite, friendly and helpful. It has an awesomely extensive menu of offerings including house and daily soup specials. I ordered both the Szechwan Shrimp and the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce and for inexpensive New York Chinese, not bad. In fact clearly better in taste and quality than some of their local Chinese take-out competitors such as Wingloon or Chopstixs, which is where I think I had the worst example of Chinese take-out I've ever experienced. For Chinese food, I'd rate them One Star, but since they don't even pretend to be Chinese but New York Chinese they're OK for a budget take-out more meant to fill your belly than to peak your taste buds. However, in comparing them with the take-out I've had in New York, if that is any comparison, I've had better.

Very good food. Extremely fast delivery. Friendly guy. I would definitely recommend it. I was not sure based on some id the reviews but I have to admit, it was a good experience. General Tao chicken was ok but the rice is great!!!
(4)David R.
Food is good, decently priced but the Kid who answers the phone is a Debbie Downer, he has hung up on me l on more than 1 occasion before I was fully done with my order and I have received the wrong food before as well. Other then that I find the food pretty good.

Really love the food. Best local delivery of Chinese version fat and sugar in all of Fort Lauderdale, but the owner's son is so damned unhappy! Can't the parents take pity on him and not make him work there? Half the time he sounds like he's ready to kill me and the other half he sounds like he's ready to kill himself.
(4)J L.
I would say if somebody else will deliver to you then let them... The attitude of the the owners lets you know that they do not care about the customers so I can only imagine how they care for their kitchen. Tonight was third time I have had issue and instead of resolving problem the owner decided to just hang up the phone without so much as a go scree yourself. Come on guys it is only Chinese fast food.. I wish somebody else delivered to my area.
(2)Jerry S.
Surprisingly good food! I think it's one of the best take out places in Fort Lauderdale. Fast and efficient. Delicious beef with broccoli, really good fried rice. Never had a problem ordering here. The price is more reasonable than other places in the area.
(4)D. H.
Fast, cheap, simple, and delicious. The key here is that the food was prepared to order - unlike so many chinese places that serve buffet style rubbish thats been sitting in steam tables since 4 PM. The boneless ribs, shrimp rolls, and crab rangoon were highlights for me.

Good takeout/delivery place... First off, this isn't a restaurant, it's a take out place. The delivery is very fast and always have very tasty, full flavored dishes (honey chicken is pretty awesome for my book). Highly recommend for cheap, friendly, tasty food.
(4)Nicole C.
WORST Chinese food I've ever had! Went out on a limb and tried the family combo tonight and it was greasy and disgusting. The wontons in the soup also taste like they were thawed out of a freezer. Don't bother using their coupons...go somewhere else.

I order at LEAST 3 times a week from East China Kitchen and have for over the past 5 years! They are the best chinese food on the east side of Fort Lauderale!!! Once visiting another Chinese restaurant just west of this location that I used before I found East China, I stopped in instead of ordering delivery and to my horror I saw small german cockroaches on the floor. That is a sign of absolute FILTH! I told the owner their store was nasty and after all the delivery orders I had placed in the past they wound never hear from me again. Thankfully then my new search found East China Kitchen!!! The store is clean and the staff is awesome! It makes it worth skipping the delivery to be greeted so nicely by such great folks. The drivers are quick and awesome too!
(5)Jess R.
My order was Wonton & Egg Drop(Mixed),Shrimp Roll(1)and Shrimp Lo Mein great food fast delivery and would try again but New York Chinese does not come close to actually New York Chinese food.Just not the same.

Tried this place for the first time .. Their hunan chicken is good. Their chow fun was okay. Egg rolls were okay. That's all I've tried so far, but the hunan chicken is worth trying more! Also their lunch portions are big! And they have lunch specials on weekends. Yay!
(4)Luis O.
First and last time that I order in this place. They delivered the wrong item and I decided to give it a try due I didn't want to call and wait 45 mins again. The fried rice don't have flavor at all, the darkest wonton soup that I ever seen flavor was ok and the egg roll over cook. Also the guy who answered the phone sound depressed has no customer care.
(1)Allie B.
This place messed up my order big time and when the delivery guy came, he said the "Owners need a copy of your whole credit card number" and made a carbon copy. Never ordering from this place again.

I'm new to this part of Ft. Lauderdale and New York Chinese restaurants/take outs were consistantly very good. In south Florida I've heard that taste and quality aren't good. I've eaten in the pricey Fed Hway Chinese restaurants...and not worth the big bill. This afternoon a menu/flyer from East China Kitchen was placed at my door. I compared it to one from another Chinese take out . Prices were similar ...a dollar more or less from both. I read the reviews on Yelp and decided to give East China Kitchen a good try, ordering $40. As the reviews stated....fast delivery, food was hot, tasted fresh and was delicious. Whereas others give you a free soda or $2 off when you spend $30 or more, East China Kitchen gives a portion of Gen. Chow's Chicken...much better deal. I am very satisfied, very full and I have very much food left for tomorrow and the next day meals. I will be a regular customer.

Great place. Kid that runs the front counter is adorable. Fast delivery. Food is excellent.

I like this place a lot .Food was fresh portions filling . I ordered the Szechuan combo . I will return !
(4)Jamie J.
This place is nasty-I am starting to feel that decent Chinese take out is non existent in Fort Lauderdale. Shrimp with Broccoli was mushy and flavorless. Spare ribs were seriously fatty and chewy-no meat on those bones. Even the soup was so overly thickened with corn starch it killed the flavor. Nothing we got seemed fresh in any way.Just bad. Order from someplace else. Seriously.
(1)Rob B.
I order from East China all the time. It won't blow you away, but it is consistently good and open late for those last minute dinner eaters. They offer extremely fast delivery and the food is always hot upon arrival. Haven't had any gross out moments so far... keeping my fingers crossed.
(4)Rachel B.
Best chinese food in the area. Being from NJ, I think most Chinese food in south Florida is absolutely retched, but this place has decent food comparably. Delivery is quick and a free order of crab rangoon comes with the order if you spend $20 or more, just remind them. This is hands down the best thing on the menu. The actual location is a hole in the wall so your best bet is take out or delivery.
(3)Shermika S.
Love the food here. I actually had them deliver since they are right around the corner. I had my food in under 30 min. My only problem would be the fried rice. The rice just looks like regular rice not fried. If I wanted regular rice I would not have asked for fried rice.
(5)Janice A.
This place is what it is. This is a take out or delivery only, fast, easy, simple, no frills chinese. It's not gourmet, it's not even Panda Express. But it's convenient. I highly suggest the crab ragoons, I ate half of them before I even got home... The sweet & sour chicken is just breaded/fried chicken with a separate container of sweet & sour sauce which does make me sad cause I looooooove the pineapple that usually comes with it. Every thing is typical, but it's fast and cheap. I can't really ask for more, but PF Changs is closer, only a few bucks more, and pick up is just as easy.
(3)Marie M.
Awesome for delivery. I'm from California where ordering Chinese food for delivery is as common as ordering pizza, but that does not appear to be the case in Florida. We ordered a ton of food, all of it delicious, hot, and decently priced. I was especially pleased with the freshness of the veggies.
(5)Emily F.
Absolutely Gross. Boneless ribs taste like SWILL. the food is nasty... Most repulsive place ever.
(1)Rich S.
Another unfortunate example of disappointing South Florida Chinese food.
