I've never been more confused... My girlfriends and I came here hoping to enjoy happy hour that supposedly runs from 4-7pm. The prospects were promising as we were seated outside in a lovely, well-decorated cabana. What resulted was an annoying 2 hours in which we had no idea what 3 separate servers were trying to (not) communicate to us. 1st offense: There was no specific happy hour menu. So, when we asked the first server helping us what the specials were, we got a confused reply of 2 for 1 house wines, rail drinks, or lycheeapple martini (do you mean...lychee and apple flavors together? Or, A lychee or, An apple martini separately?). We decided to ask another waitress to try to get some clarification and got nowhere. After settling for what we kind of understood, we each decided to go for a lychee martini. The story continues... 2nd offense: After enjoying our relatively strong lychee martinis for about fifteen minutes, a third new waitress came out to tell us we "should" order food with the drinks. When we told her that we were okay and that we just wanted to get drinks, she proceeded to tell us we "need" to order food in order to receive the happy hour 2 for 1 deal. When we told her we didn't know and that this wasn't said anywhere on any of the menus, she responded with a "Yeah" and a nod, and then went back inside. Okay?? 3rd offense: Our first server comes back out to check on us and sees that our drinks are empty. When she asked us if we'd like to order our second drinks, we each wanted to try a different drink (listed by the first 2 servers in the 1st offense). So, we each asked for a different drink, only to be notified that in order to get the 2 for 1 deal, we had to get the same drink we originally ordered. Alright, cool. Another round of lychee martinis it is - thanks for letting us know. All in all, we ended up not needing to order food in order to actually obtain the 2 for 1 drink special because we just never brought it back up to the other waitresses, and they never brought it to our attention either. So I have no idea what that third waitress was talking about. The lychee martinis were substantial enough for me not to give this place one star, but not outstanding enough for me to ever come back again.

I have really been remiss in not writing a review on Cocos before this. I first eat here 10 years ago when the first opened and loved it. Unlike many other places the food has only gotten better over the years. The owner Mike has kept the quality of food and service very high. The staff in general is excellent and the two bartenders Eugene and Eric take extra care of their "guests" as they refer to us. They have a great happy hour with quality drinks. Their happy hour wines are all very good. I love my wine so this is not something I say lightly. They have a great number of Martinis and other drinks as well as happy hour food. Let's get to the food, I get asked what is good there? The answer is really everything. You will love whatever you pick. I have been to the Far East and A lot of Asians eat at Cocos and they all agree it is top notch. Their curries are outstanding, sushi rolls excellent, duck soup, yum. They are doing a summer menu that is excellent, try the Asian mussels and the Wahoo roll.

Been here before. Sushi is good. Upscale but not pretentious. Could have passed on the cheesy lounge singer during dinner. But, the food is good. We will be back, but probably on a night without entertainment.

I never get down to 17th Street Causeway. As a local, there are so many great restaurant choices outside this tourist focused corridor. Overall we enjoyed the meal at Coco. A friend made reservations on OpenTable. There were plenty of tables at 8:30p on a Friday. The decor is really nice and we were sat in a comfortable booth where we could chat and have a nice meal. The menu is overwhelming. I told our friends I felt like this place had an identity crisis. Rack of Lamb and other traditional bistro dishes next to pad thai and sushi rolls. They even bring bread with Asian flavor olive oil. It was good but a little strange. We decided to stick with the Asian theme and go family style. Miami Roll - loved it Rock n Roll - I liked it and i don't typically like the fishy rolls Jalapeno Roll - This one had a kick and great flavor. Another good choice Our server was lovely (I've read some reviews about bitchy servers - apparently they have been fired) She suggested we try the "healthier" fried rice with the red beans - a house signature dish. It was very good and definitely a different take on fried rice. I would recommend it if you are looking for something new. It retained the flavor of a traditional fried rice with a nice twist. Only drawback: - Price. $18 pad thai. $19 rolls on average. $17 fried rice. It all adds up. You're definitely paying a premium for the "captive tourist clientele" If you have the cash and are looking for a new place, I would recommend you give it a try! Oh! And I love to try any place that was on Check, Please!

Overall, we had a really enjoyable time at Coco Asian Bistro tonight. The service from Tam was REALLY well done. He was that kind of waiter that finds the wonderful balance between making sure your experience is going well and the food is tasting well and intuitively knowing when to leave you alone and allow you to enjoy the company of your table mates. The food was really well done and the presentation was inviting and artistic. Between my partner and me, we ordered California rolls, Tuna sushi, Ginger Stir Fry with Squid, and Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura. I also ordered a nice cold, filtered sake that was a little bland on its own but paired well with the meal. To add to the nice experience, we had a small jazz combo and a vocalist performing tonight. They did a really lovely job, but weren't a distraction from the conversation over dinner. My only ding for the restaurant is that it is a little pricey relative to the food quality. The most egregious component was the $15 charge for 3 pieces of tuna sushi. While it was nicely done, it was a poor value from my perspective. This complaint, however, should not diminish the quality of our experience tonight and our appreciation for the wonderful service by our waiter, Tam. This is a nice place for a splurge dinner--just don't come with a "value mindset." You will be sorely disappointed if that's your intention.

Over priced! I order two drinks two appetizer 1 entree $133. The pad Thai dish was way too sweet. Overall it was not worth it for the money & the food was not fancy.

My boyfriend and I went here for the first time and ordered sushi. The raw sushi that was served was not even chilled. It was warm and after I left my stomach was hurting. We will never go there again!

I insist on eating here at least once a week addicted to the fresh spring rolls and the house specialty "michael's roll" with black rice...completely unique and absolutely delicious!

I have been going to Coco for a few years and always love the food and service. Last week when i went i noticed they changed the waiters uniforms to include a silly orange bow tie..come on??? This is not 1980 !!!! How can you do this to a professional server and think it's ok. It embarrassed me and i'm sure it does your staff. Please rethink those silly ties... they only make me think i'm in a cheap, out of date place. Thank you. I'll be back soon...hope I don't see those again. That will get you 5 stars from me

Note: This is a service review during HH. There wasn't a happy hour menu and figuring out the specials, even from multiple employees, was near impossible. The waitress said something about 2 for 1 house wines, rail drinks, and listed a couple martinis (I think). We even asked another waitress to clarify, but she wasn't any more helpful. We got lychee martinis and then the confusion became endless. We were then told, all on separate occasions: 1. We couldn't share the 2 for 1 deal. 2. We had to get the same drink for both. 3. We had to order food if we wanted to get the HH 2 for 1 special (which apparently ended up being a bold-faced lie). I. Can't. Even. The drinks weren't close to being good enough to justify putting up with the service. Go elsewhere.

**Reviewing HH ONLY** Coco Asian Bistro was right next to my hotel (Hyatt Place) so my girls and I decided to try it for Happy Hour. We told the hostess and she seated us outside on the cute terrace which had comfy chairs a nice modern decor. Unfortunately, there is no HH menu so the waitress had to state the drink specials. It was difficult to understand her due to her accent, but we were able to make out "Lychee Martini" so we had a round of those. They were strong, but tasty and came with 2 lychees on a stick. We wanted to try another drink for our second round but our waitress stated that it had to be the same exact drink. What kind of rule is that?! She never told us this, but we decided to just order another round of lychee martinis. She then came back and told us that in order to get the 2 for 1 HH special, we had to order food off of the HH menu. WHAT? She never stated this at the beginning and there were no signs that stated this either. My group was pretty upset at all of these "rules". I'd suggest going somewhere else for HH. Specials: 2 for 1 house wine, house martinis and Chang beer 4-7pm on weekdays

Coco Asian Bistro not only treated my wife and I like royalty on our 22nd anniversary dinner, but served me one of the finest meals I have ever had. Everything was fresh and cooked to order, and the presentation was very elaborate. We were also served a wonderful dessert of fried bananas with coconut ice cream on the house and that was indeed orgasmic. I hope that everyone gives this place a shot because it is truly a great dining experience with a professional, attentive, and friendly staff. Pricing was also very fair considering the type of meal I had of fresh snapper, seafood soup, and beef and shrimp stir fry, which by the way, had the largest shrimp I have ever seen in it. I am very glad I gave them a try and you should too!

This place is romantic even though it is at a plaza. They turned the outside veranda into a serene retreat: it's enclosed in tall bamboo trees, there's a mini waterfall-like structure, dim candle lights on the tables, live jazz singer murmuring something with an accent (she's singing inside, but speakers are outside) and a fire pit for guests to enjoy. My hubby and I have eaten here two times already. (Update: brought a birthday party of 8 here and everyone was over the moon in love with this place). The food is good, even for a spoiled New Yorker like myself. The service staff is super friendly. This is a good place for a date or a party.

Convenient location, warm atmosphere, delicious food. Had sushi first. It was delicious and stunning how it was served. Later had the prime rib special. Service was friendly and "there" without being hoovering or bothersome. Definitely plan to go back!

I ate there twice. once with a guy I met at the pain medicine conference and once by myself. My friend enjoyed it very much. He ordered Pad Thai. I ordered the samosa and green curry with tofu. Make sure you order them without the fish or shrimp sauce if you are a vegetarian. The appetizer bread is good especially with butter. I like the food except for the price. It is a bit pricy. Service is excellent.

I had wanted to try this place for awhile, but I knew it was a little pricey and my wife is not a sushi fan, but we decided to try it out last Friday night. We did not have a reservation and had to wait 5-10 minutes for a table. Once they sat us down, the service was nice and attentive. We tried one of the Thai beers called Singha that was pretty good to drink. Then they brought us some really good bread and olive oil, which I had never seen at an Asian restaurant before. The wife had the wonton soup ($5), which is made with shrimp wontons and some greens inside (not scallions). We shared it and it was one of the best soups I've had in awhile - highly recommended to start out with. My wife has a current obsession with tuna tartare, so she ordered that and asked if she could get double tuna instead of tuna & salmon and they obliged. It was OK but we've had better and it was a small portion for around $15. For my entree I ordered one of the specials, lobster fried rice ($30). I didn't ask the price and didn't know it was $30 but it was still worth it. The presentation alone was amazing served in a hollowed-out pineapple and with the lobster shell on the side. Inside the pineapple was steaming hot fried rice, a little spicy, with egg & fresh veggies and huge chunks of lobster and some jumbo shrimp mixed in. It was amazing and I would order that again. The bill came to like $70-something but we pretty much enjoyed everything except we would not order the tuna tartare again. I hear they have 50% off appetizers at the bar from 4-7 pm daily so we might do that next time and just try a bunch of stuff. Keeping in mind the place is a tad bit pricey for dinner, I still plan to visit again because I was pleased with the food and overall experience.

We tried Coco after a recommendation from an acquaintance. I'd have to say a few of the other reviewers were on spot. The Sushi was divine however the rest of the menu was uninspired american food trying to pass for Asian. It is a great place for a drink and appetizer during the Happy Hour when drinks are 1/2 price and there is a special small plate menu. Service at the bar was excellent.

Food is good, the prices look like they are high at first. Then when you rolls come out you realize you cannot even finish one. The rolls are huge, and not just all rice actually filled with good quality fish. Went on a saturday night the place was very crowded when we got there around 8. By the time we left the entire place was filled every table was taken. I got the shrimp dumplings steamed as an appetizer very good. The portion were 4 huge shrimp dumplings they appeared to be homemade. Also got a rainbow roll, spiderman roll ( the special ), bagel , and a tuna roll. Great quality and very easy to find parking.

Very tasty sushi and menu items. Had spicy tuna roll, momma roll (freakin yum!) samosas and Thai NY strip salad. Only wish the salad had less red onion but the marinated meat was juicy and delicious. Totally recommend the fried coconut ice cream to end the meal. Only thing you need to do is make sure you are ready for the expense because rolls start at around $19 and up and entrees are quite expensive save for the tempura which is the least expensive. Liked it a lot but it cost me some serious change for all four of us after meals, rolls, drinks and dessert. Would go again for sure.

Overpriced but worth it. The atmosphere + great sushi + creative rolls = 4 stars. I would give this place a 5 but we really didn't get 5 star service. Had to ask for bread, food took a while and we only ordered sushi. But we will be back. The trio tartar appetizer is really interesting and the flavors are intense. I highly recommend it. We also had the Spice Roll, Sex in the City Roll, and Rock n' Roll. They were all fantastic. Couldn't choose a favorite. My husband and I took down three really large rolls which is unusual. We just couldn't leave anything on the plate. While the prices are a little high to make this my "everyday" sushi place, I'll make it my every "special day" sushi place.

I didn't get to eat here. This is a service review. For one, we were seated immediately on a Saturday night because there was plenty of seating available which means that, while there were many diners there, there were not too many by any means. For another, we were seated at a booth by the sushi bar which is heavily trafficked by waitstaff, bus-persons, chefs, and patrons. For yet another, we had a server at some point because someone came by, asked us if we wanted any drinks and brought us waters. TWENTY MINUTES LATER NO ONE HAD TAKEN OUR ORDER OR EVEN VISITED OUR TABLE. There were patrons and tables all around us with people in them being served. We signaled waitstaff first non verbally, then using our hands, then verbally. Yeah. No. We left. The hostess who'd seated us was standing at the door and, guess what? She didn't even nod or say a word. We went to Siam down the street instead where, by the way, the food was 5 star, the service was on point, the ambiance was heads above Coco Asian Bistro, and the menu was much more suited to the taste of people who actually like Thai food.

The food is good, however it's a little over-priced. The girls at the front are very friendly. However, the manager/owner wouldn't let me park my bike outside for no more than an hour and was evil about it and told me I was unreasonable. I told him that I'm a local and order take out at least twice a week and now I won't. I got to Lemongrass up the road and love it.

Took a taxi from the Harbor Beach Marriott ($10 w/ tip one way) could take the trolley if you were going for lunch. Lunch menu looked good and prices looked good too! Went for dinner and was very impressed with the quality, creativity and large size of the sushi rolls. Ordered the Mama Roll and the Hot Hot Roll (I think that was the name), a sweet fried noodle appetizer (not that great) and some yellowtail sashimi. Price was on the higher side but it was better then eating in one of the many hotel restaurants in the area. Nice atmosphere and friendly waiter. Extensive menu, in case sushi is not your thing.

We came here for dinner with another couple on a Saturday night. The place is very nice inside, especially for being in a strip mall. The booths are really cute, they were all reserved so it would be a good idea to call ahead and reserve one. They have happy hour from 4-7pm with 2 for 1 house wine, house alcohol and domestic beers so we were happy we arrived around 6:30pm. Looking over the menu there were a lot of items that sounded good but I like others was surprised at how high the prices were. I also wasn't impressed with the sushi menu. There were a lot of shrimp tempura rolls but I avoid fried foods and I had a hard time finding a roll I wanted that didn't cost $20+. For these prices we might as well have gone to Nobu! I settled on a Mixed Vegetable stir fry with jumbo shrimp. The shrimp were HUGE and delicious. The veggies were ok and I wasn't crazy about the sauce it came with. The portion was a perfect size but for $20 I wasn't thrilled at all. Julio had the Red Curry and that was a large portion and looked really good. Our friends had some sushi that was good and the pad thai also looked delicious. My favorite item of the night was the Vietnamese spring rolls I had to start, those were awesome. The overall experience was 3 stars or A-Ok but the prices were way too high for the quality of the food. Happy hour is a good deal, I'd recommend coming for drinks and apps between 4-7.

Delicious, but not consistent. The service was great the first time that I was here, the second time it was terrible. The Calamari salad appetizer is very good, as is the typical thai dishes, like green beans, and papaya salad. the wine pours are less then generous, and the "double pour" that they do is not as impressive to the eye as they think. For the price, I would rather go some place that pays more attention to the food than the decor. I will label this place "date central" since it looks great from the outside, is a little disappointing when the bill comes, and after the second time it is unlikely it will ever happen again.

We had an amazing experience here on our vacation. The Pad Thai was amazing, and the steak was perfect. Usually the steak is $40 but since the cut wasn't as big as they normally have the waitress let me know and charged less for it. Our server was great; very attentive and played with our 7 month old when she stopped by our table. We will be sad to be leaving Ft. Lauderdale and this gem of a restaurant.

The mama roll was really good. Wasnt too sure about having strawberry on a roll, but it was very very good. The Sushi Chef's are the coolest people and multiple wait staff stopped by to make sure that everything was ok with me. Yes it is a little pricey for the area, but it was very easy to get to and had a nice atmosphere.

I first visited Coco's Asian Bistro over 2 years ago for my birthday, and I hadn't been back until last night. On my first trip I had Thai food (prob cashew chicken) and was far from impressed, which was the reason I had not been back. Last night's trip totally won be over. With friends, we ordered Sahimi (tuna, salmon, and wahu) along with a custom roll. It had to be some of the freshest, best Sushi/Sashimi I have ever had. Absolutely in love. And to top it off, at 8pm on a Sunday night, EVERY table was filled. It definitely will not be another 2 years before my next visit

My office orders lunch frequently from this place; we've also dined-in. Good sushi, excellent thai options. Red curry is delicious - try it with scallops- and the popular pad thai noodles are delicious as well. Nice decor, good ambiance. Plentiful parking. Friendly & efficient staff.

I got a bento box for lunch and it was not very good. The chicken pad thai was great, the two inch egg roll was absolutely tasteless, the salad was standard, and the tempora had WAY too much batter. The dipping sauce had no flavor either. I ordered a California roll workout looking at the menu and it came with imitation crab meat. For $7?? Come on!! I heard the lunch buffet is pretty good so maybe I'll come back for that.

Never eating there again! I used to get food there at least once a week... I got food poising about 2 months ago but wasn't sure if it was because of their sushi- a month later we had it delivered home and the fish smelled kinda weird, the rice was def NOT fresh, I ended up throwing away 2 rolls and 9 pieces of sushi (they're not cheap either) in the garbage! Do not go there, I don't know what happened to this restaurant but I'm not getting sick again!

Awesome lunch deals! Been a couple times for sushi & thai for lunch & it's pretty consistent. But this last time I tried the lunch box which had a variety which I LOVED. It came with a few sushi rolls, pad thai, spring rolls, seaweed salad, & soup which was all very resonable in price. Thats my problem with these combo restuarants...I can never decide which direction to go. Well with these lunch boxes you literally get a box with little pockets of everything & it was very very good. There are several combos to try. Its middle of road as far as prices but the lunch seemed like a great deal. Great Thai & Sushi!

The kids were invited to a pizza party after school, so that gave me and my wife a chance to have a rare date night. Not really a date night, but a date dinner, anyway. We decided to go to Coco Asian Bistro & Bar, an Asian fusion place in a great little shopping plaza off the 17th Street Causeway in Ft. Lauderdale. We had eaten there several years ago for Valentine's Day lunch (we couldn't afford a Valentine's Day dinner) and remembered that it was pretty good. We really still can't afford dinner, but at least we have a higher credit card limit now. (Every time I pay for a meal with a credit card, I can't help but think if the meal was good enough to be paying for it for the next couple of years)...We decided to meet at the restaurant. I arrived first and went inside for a table. This place is very nice inside, very chic and romantic, with booths along the front wall with linen curtains overhead and between them. I recommend these tables if you can get them. I asked for a booth and was told they were reserved for later in the evening, but if we could finish by 7:30pm we could sit there. It was just after 6pm, so that wasn't a problem. I ordered a glass of wine while I waited for my wife and was pleasantly surprised that it was 2 for 1 happy hour, and commented that I could split it with my wife, but was told that it was for each person or something like that, so I was "forced" to have 2 glasses myself. I ordered the appetizers while I waited, Coco Spring Rolls and a Lettuce Wrap. My wife then arrived. She ordered the pomegranate hot tea (not for the anti-oxidant properties, she just likes pomegranates) and we ordered our entrées. Ginger Chicken for her and Chicken Pad Thai for me. The appetizers arrived and we were very happy and disappointed at the same time. The spring rolls were great. My wife said they were the best she ever had. I had never really ranked spring rolls before, a spring roll is a spring roll, but these were excellent. Crispy golden brown rolls of chicken and other spring roll filling. They came with three dipping sauces, 2 hot and 1 sweet. Excellent, excellent, excellent. The lettuce wraps were a different story. Not bad, but not exactly what we are used too. I should have read the description on the menu. Seemed to taste like ceviche instead of chicken. We are used to a slightly sweet chicken lettuce wrap, but this was way too heavy on the raw onion and lemon juice. My wife commented that the chef had the magic power to turn chicken into fish. Not the magic power I would choose for myself, but, to each his own. Before we had finished our appetizers the server brought out our entrees. I guess they were worried we would not be finished before the party with the reservation arrived. The entrees were super hot, so it didn't hurt them to sit until we were ready. My chicken pad thai was pretty good. Nothing spectacular, but just pretty good. My wife's ginger chicken was another story. Way, way to salty and pretty much no ginger flavor. My wife never met a salt shaker she didn't like, so for her to complain a dish was too salty, it must have been almost inedible. The server took the dish back with apologies and soon brought it back, saying the chef added more sauce. The extra sauce and my wife's addition of the sweet sauce left over from the spring rolls (did I say how good the spring rolls were?) at least made the dish tolerable. For desert we shared a crème brulee, my favorite dessert. The brulee was a little too much brulee'd and tasted bitter as if it had been scorched. None the less it was still good and I would order it again. The service was very attentive, perhaps a little too much so, but I would rather have them come too often than not often enough. The menu for this place is all over the board price wise. It is possible to have a pretty good meal at a reasonable price, if you stick to Thai food. If you are in the mood for a steak, I would go elsewhere. Don't believe the prices on their website menu. Add $25 to the prices of the steaks. Their steaks were astronomical in price at $50 & $60. That's more than Ruth's Chris or other high end "steak houses". Although I didn't have a steak, I can't imagine that I wouldn't have felt ripped off at that price. Would we go back again? Maybe for happy hour and a couple of spring rolls, but probably not for a full dinner. There is better Thai food to be found in Ft. Lauderdale. After we ate we strolled around the shops and found a Hallmark store that was going out of business. We were able to stock up on a lot of stuff that we didn't even know we needed at 1/2 price. I can almost hear the conversation now. "Hey, Honey, where are those mother's day (or insert any holiday here) cards that we bought at that place near the place with the great spring rolls?"And the response, "I don't know I haven't seen them since we brought them home"......

Had lunch here last week. Service was fantastic. Had the bento box with beef teriyaki. Delish! Lunch menu is fairly priced. Lost a star because I couldn't substitute anything in the box even though they were offered in different bento boxes. My bf had a box with the pad Thai and tuna sushi. Said the tuna was fresh and they didn't skimp out. I do not eat raw fish so I can't help you there. Will return to try dinner even though the prices look scary.

Excellent thai and the ultimate fresh sushi. Professional staff, well presented. Great value Happy Hour. My favorites are probably the Wonton Soup, Avocado-Mango Tuna Sashimi Salad, Lobster Pad Thai, Mike's Roll, and Lychee Martinis. Great wine list too!

Food deserving of a 4, but service stops at a 2... And has anyone else ever seen BLACK RICE? Yes, that is correct - not normal rice with colorants, but black rice... yummy and almost sweet but kind of wierd eating sushi surrounded by black rice. Live jazzy kind of music on weekends, but not too noisy. Oooh, some good martini's too, a lychee one which isn't that easy to find. Expensive and pleasant decor, although kind of strange location for it.

I liked Coco's. If you want to impress a date, and he/she is not asian, go here. I thought the decor was cool. The food is mainly a fusion of Japanese and Thai with sushi, wine, and martinis. The staff was polite and patient. The chef, Mike, was walking around (fishing for compliments?) I don't see that very often. The food was expensive and the clientel upscale, but they still were able to pull off a casual feel. The place was nice but for the price the food should have blown me away. I would have liked larger quantities, not a monster plate, just a little more please.

We live nearby and never went because of the mixed reviews on yelp and the fact that it's in a strip mall. I'm sorry we waited so long. Both the service and food are great. Fresh, fresh, fresh. We're now loyal customers.

Top of the line sushi joint with a twist. A varied menu gives plenty of choices, cooked or raw. Decor is pleasant, as is the staff. Prices are a bit on the higher end, but the food quality is well worth every dollar. Attention to detail is found in each dish. Highly recommended. Try Mama's Roll!

Excellent food and service in a fun atmosphere (although the piano is a little cheesy). We had 2 cocktails, 3 small plates, 1 special roll and 2 Thai entrees for about $100. The Vietnamese fresh rolls and panang curry were incredible but everything was better than average. By the way, there were no Korean dishes on the menu.

Uhhhh... meh. Granted, I wasn't expecting much from this strip-mall location, but the sushi here was solidly average and not so inexpensive. Solidly average is okay for some cuisine, but I've unfortunately been spoiled by world-class sushi and now everything else just kind of tastes like paste. The "Mike's Roll," made with black sticky rice, was kind of interesting, though. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable, but not what you'd call elegant or stylish.

My wife and I went to Cocos after having seen it recommended on TV on Check Please! It was TERRIBLE! We tried the 'crispy noodles" - they were soggy and lacked flavor, We complained to the waitress and she said they had a new chef and he was still learning how to prepare the dish. We then ordered sushi which also had very little flavor. I tried the wasabi they provided and it had absolutely NO "bite" to it. We asked our watiress about this and she replied that we were given an "American" version of wasabi that was not hot/spicy because that is what "Americans' preferred. We couldn't believe it - we'd never heard of an "American" wasabi before. UNBELIEVABLE! Anyway - we left Coco's and will never return again.

Thanks for the rec Check Please! South FL. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Who pays $16 for routine pad thai? Overpriced (goes along with the upscale setting) for a nonadventurous menu. Kinda like a PF Chang for asian fusion or just a hodgepodge of thai, japanese. four dumplings for $10? I just didn't enjoy it that much. the food took a long time to be served. the servers tried to be extra gracious. I get the feeling it's more of a martini bar serving asian than a restaurant.

Expensive but quality. Lunch service is frequently slow. Decor is beautiful, over the top for a shopping plaza. Chicken Pad Thai was $8.95 on lunch menu. Generous sized sushi ala carte. Accidentally left my credit card here once, called them 24 hours later and they had it waiting for me when I arrived.

The Thai steak salad is definitely a reason to go back! Mint mixed in the greens and the light dressing are awesome with the sliced ribeye steak and big enough for an entree. The first time I went to Coco's, by myself sitting at the sushi bar, I followed up the salad with a very unique roll. The roll was made with black sweet rice and has a drizzle of sweet chili sauce. Although better than ok but not great, I would have liked the chili sauce to be a bit spicier. This evening, I went back with my friend and we shared a few things. Ever since I bought the Groupon ($25 for a $50 cert.), I knew I would get that salad again. (The menu does not list greens, look for it under the apps.) Sourdough bread is served hot with a dish of thai balsamic and olive oil with chopped cilantro. Shrimp wonton soup was next, which was ok. It has fresh cilantro, chives, and spinach (yes, spinach), but was a bit salty. Thai egg rolls were good, nice flaky smooth shell (like spring rolls, not bumpy egg rolls). They came with 2 sauces, a red sweet sauce, meh, and the green one spicy, which did have a nice kick and good flavor. I tried mixing the sauces a bit which was the best :) The seabass was cooked perfectly, buttery and moist. I tried the skin, which was crispy with a layer of fat that made it juicy. The red curry had a nice amount of heat (ordered "hot"), but not too much to overpower the fish, the flavors were really well balanced. Our server, Chris, was friendly and everything went smoothly. Although he could have poured our Figi water and bottle of Megage a Trois Red more, so I didn't have to (it was the cheapest bottle on the menu at $25, so maybe I don't blame him for that), if that's the biggest complaint of the night, it was success.

Sure the decor is very cool. They were fantastic when they first opened. We loved this place in 2006. It WAS worth the price YEARS ago. Now the food isnt as fresh, the service is mediocre but the staff IS friendly. This could be a great restaurant if they just tried a little harder and had fresher food.

Interesting to see the reviews and the inconsistency throughout the thread. On the other hand we thoroughly enjoyed the ambience, and the quality of food, but note that we are not sushi eaters. All presentations looked delectable, from the martinis coming out to the sushi to appetizers to the actual cooked meals itself. We had Thai egg rolls which were of the crispy and thin, with two sauces, the sauces, particularly the spicy sauce being the highlight. (Overall egg rolls were good). We had the samosas which had mashed potatoes and peas and came with two sauces, a peanut sauce and a cucumber sauce. (Good). Had cucumber rolls, with a very strong Wasabi (it's hard to get strong Wasabi these days) - and even though it was a non-imaginative dish, it was outstanding. (Always helps when you have great Wasabi). Had chicken with mixed vegetables, and although quite expensive for this dish,(if I recall it was $ 17 but I am not complaining) it did come with bok choy which I love, and overall was excellent. My wife had chicken with peanut sauce. The white meat chicken was essentially a sliced chicken breast and personally I am not a fan of peanut sauce on chicken. She thought it was good, but nothing greater. (To clarify, I like their peanut sauce a lot, but on appetizers, as opposed to chicken). We were very full, and if I recall they had a limited dessert selection, so nothing lost there. Overall the cost of the meal was reasonable, I think in the low $ 70's including tax and tip with a large and small saki. I do realize that others would say that this was expensive. I do rate this one of the better Thai-Asian Fusion restaurants in Broward County, and look forward to seeing if their steaks and marinating compares to our favorite Thai Spice.

Tough call on this one. First, I've only eaten there once and second, as many of the reviewers mention, it's pricey. We heard about the place from a person knowledgeable in cuisine. My party's meals were excellent. Probably the best Asian we've had in Broward. It's not the typical greasy, over sauced garbage doled out by virtually all of the Asian restaurants in the area. It's light, refined and very fresh. Portions are large, too large. Service was very good, atmosphere is typical strip mall Asian with a small touch of class. It's not a place I'd put on a "must return" list. However, if I felt like Asian, I'd go back in a heart-beat. Hopefully it would be an experience consistent with our first visit.

Living in Maine where I can get fresh seafood/sushi anytime, I was VERY impressed with how good the sushi was here. Not only was the sushi good...but the presentation in actual wooden boats was great. The ambiance was casual, yet romantic & classy. Even a piano man singing/playing on the side. We arrived with a group of 10 people, walked right in & never lacked for any service. I suggest getting sake, wine, & sushi boats. Smooth sailing!

I really like this place. I have eaten both at the bar alone and at a table with others. The Duck Noodle Soup is what I have heard other people say is the reason to come, so I tried it my last time there and it was fantastic! Especially, if you are staying at Embassy Suites, it's a natural. Walking distance away.

After seeing the reviews, I guess we got lucky! Our service was great and she made excellent recommendations. We had the steamed shrimp dumplings and I have to say THE BEST. grilled squid salad that was very good and the spicy squid and conch that was also good. My b/f had the lamb chops, which he said were excellent and I had the three buddies, shrimp, scallops and fish. My dish was good, but the shrimp had a breading on them that I did not like....the only thing that kept this from a five star! The Lychee martinis were also quite yummy and went down smooth. A bit expensive (close to $200 for the two of us), but very good food. Not sure if the air was not working or if it is always warm?? Fine for me, but the b/f was hot. They also has cheesy live music that I could have done without. Some nice hip Asian techno would have fit better. I would say to give it a try for sure.

We visited this place on our way to our honeymoon and I found it through yelpers on here. We enjoyed it and the sushi was good. Mike's roll was interesting with the black rice and it kind of tasted like a dark wild rice which is not my preference, but still enjoyable. The martinis were very good as well and we had several. My wife does not like sushi as much so she had the steak and she enjoyed her dish as well. If you are staying at the Embassy Suites in Ft Lauderdale, check this place out, it's right behind it in a shopping area!

Excellent service, excellent food. Thai Pepper lives on, reinvented to higher levels by Chef Mike! One small criticism: the Emerald Scallops were delicious, but with very itsy-bitsy bits of portobello. They were almost invisible.

Decor, food and service were good but a bit overpriced for what you get. Pad thai was $17 for a regular serving! Our server was nice but had a serious communication problem.

I went with a party of 12, everyone enjoyed it, service was okay, I thought they could have been a little more attentive, dumplings were great as was the crispy duck and their special that night of lobster and shrimp pad Thai.

  • Orna S.

Way overpriced and not consistent. The ocean roll for $27 was an average roll, should be $6, and it comes with a brick of fried something they call vegetable tempura. Inedible. The duck noodle soup was nice as was the penang curry. The trio of fish wanton appetizer was dis appointing, and was the likely culprit for our getting sick that night. Would not go back.

One of my favorite restaurants in Ft. Lauderdale! The food is amazing and the staff is great! My boyfriend and I love sitting at the bar for happy hour. Eric, the bartender is very nice and gives great service. My favorite app is the chicken spring rolls. I order pad tai every time because it's the best in town. One last thing, make sure to order the lychee martini. You will thank me!!

Nice asian bistro located in the Cordova Shopoing plaza. The entrance is somewhat hidden by the awning, but you can find it if you look for it. I usually order: Spider rolls and Pad Thai with chicken, shrimp and beef The dishes are good but definitely overpriced for what you are getting. One time we ordered the kobe beef dish that cost close to $50, and we were shocked when we saw the mini portion that arrived. For $50, you expect to receive something that can satisfy your hunger. Good, but you can get more for your money elsewhere. Kobe beef was a huge disappointment. After paying close to $50 for it, we were stunned by the miniscule portion size that arrived.

Upon entertaining for lunch I could tell this would be an upscale place. It's dimly lit, but has a nice feel. The service was very good. Water was always filled and there was a nice gentlemen always cleaning up the empty plates. I hate clutter when I'm eating. The dishes on the menu are mostly Thai and Japanese, however the staff I interacted with was all Thai. From a distance the sushi chef was wearing a headband with a Japanese flag but I could tell his real origin. We ordered the coco spring roll. This was served with three different sauces varying in spice. It had a nice fried outside very different then your average egg roll. These were tasty. We also tried the traditional egg rolls. These are the small rolls with a thin rice paper gently fried. Very delicious. I ordered Bento box #2. This had the egg roll, 4 pieces of sushi (tuna). Sea weed salad and chicken pad tai. The tuna sushi tasted fresh and was light and delicious. The seaweed salad was great. Didn't taste like salt water and I already wrote about the egg roll. The only item that didn't really wow me was the chicken pad tai. This was the difference between 4&5 stars. This part of the dish didn't have any flavor. I wasn't given to option to add addition spice like most restaurants. The chicken was cooked fine but was bland. My wife ordered the basil sauce with shrimp and jasmine rice. The shrimp was fantastic. This tasted very fresh and the sauce wasn't too strong. The sauce and vegetables really complimented the rice. Overall we enjoyed our experience and will be back!

Lobster Roll $30. RECOMMENDED. It feeds more than 1. Good roll, large pieces of assorted tempura including lobster, elegant presentation. Price for other rolls average high teens, but the portions are large. Ie) if you order two rolls, you won't finish both typically. Small cups. Servers very attentive so its okay.

Reliably delicious, high end, quality food and drinks. Found this place with my husband when we returned from California. It's three miles from airport or a $20 cab ride. Great for delayed flights and amazing food. I returned on my own because it was nearing 7pm and I saw they offered Happy Hour until 7pm and my husband's flight wasn't arriving until 9pm. Coco offers half price on house wine and martinis, and several delectable food items at reasonable prices. Normal menu is pricey but you are paying for quality food and ambiance. At the bar, I sat next to two lovely retired doctors from Canada. It was a very social gathering at the bar. The couple said they were going to dance at Fred Astaire Dance Studio and practice Tango at 7:20. Happy hour first sounded like a great idea to me. Highly recommend a visit to this place when you land and want superb food before or after your flight. There was a lovely live singer and piano player in the background. Bartender Sooky was friendly and remembered guests names. All around five stars.

I had not been to this restaurant in a while. Everything was just as good as I remembered it. They are also offering a Summer menu special from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm with some very good selections at a discounted price. The service provided by Noon was very good and the food was excellent. The wonton soup was very flavorful and delicious. The tuna tataki was very fresh and melted in your mouth. The rolls were also very delicious as was the fried cheesecake.

Located in the West side of the Cordova Shopping Plaza, Coco is basically an Asian food restaurant. They have a very nice outdoor patio dining area and a very well decorated indoor area along with a full bar. Their menu is extensive and everything I have here has been really good along with really good service, but I do find it to be somewhat on the pricey side of the scale. For example, I last had their Emerald Scallops which when served came with 5 diver scallops, three spears of asparagus and two good slices of Portobello mushroom. The scallops came cover with a delicious curry based cream sauce, but the diver scallops were medium in size and though very tasty, at $35 rather high priced, so since the portion left me still hungry, I ordered a dish of their crispy fried calamari. The calamari at $15 was, however, of a good size portion, wok tossed in a very pleasant tasting sweet chili over a bed of lettuce, which in this case, I thought reasonable priced considering the good size of the portion. I've eaten at Coco several times before and though I can't recall what I had I do recall everything being very good with excellent flavor, taste and texture. Coco has a super extensive menu containing just about anything of Asian, Asian fusion or Thai based cuisine that you might desire. So yes, some items are somewhat on the pricey side but basically you can be assured that you are going to get a good tasting meal at Coco.

VERY NICE toilette paper in the ladies room! Not so sure about the men's room, I'll have to ask someone. The outdoor seating area was real jazzy with a fireplace. Someone's nice gramps was playing adult contemporary music indoors and it was quite delightful. If a guy took me here on a date Id consider putting out. At least road head because honestly, their prices are kinda steep. Our server looked like he hasn't changed since his senior year yearbook picture in 1999. Emerald noodle....get it.

I had a great experience last night. The only downside, the bar is too small to accommodate everyone coming in for happy hour. The ladies night $2 wine choices were Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir. That's it. On the good side, the food was delicious. I ordered the Duck Noodles Soup and the Lemongrass Creme Brulee. The soup although listed under appetizers was enough as a main dish.

I love this place. I actually eat here at least three times a week. Their chicken basil is so tasty and all of their soup is awesome, but the hot and sour is my favorite! A surprising Asian fusion place was a dope decor. A really trendy spin on Asian foods. Okay, yes...the food is pricey but the Thai soup was among the best that I ever had. I ordered the Asian dumplings, which was pretty tasty, especially with the peanut sauce. I also ordered the seafood served with jasmine rice, it was good and I ordered a strange-looking dessert but I liked it.But the Thai Iced tea needed for milk and was on the strong side. The service was good and the presentation of the food was picture worthy. **Note: This place is trendy yet romantic and you are going to spend some serious cash, so if you are dating...bring someone here that you are serious about. You know, like an anniversary or someone that's marriage material.

Amazing ambiance, beautiful decor. We were welcomed by a live piano player creating a very classy vibe. The service was spotless and the food very on point. Finally tried this place. The decor was nice, but when I went (along with my boyfriend and another person), there was live music. For an Asian restaurant, the music just did not... fit. Food was great! But pretty pricey. I ordered a papaya salad. I always try the papaya salads at any restaurant I go to that has it and usually, the restaurants fail. However, this was the best papaya salad that I've had from a restaurant. I had them make it "Thai Hot" (which is the hottest on their scale of spiciness). It was so good. I also got a Shrimp Pad Thai (yeah, so boring and not different at all) and it was good too. I'm pretty picky about my Pad Thais, but this was good. The Thai Tea was also great because it wasn't super disgustingly sweet. Oh yeah, and they serve bread and a yummy chili oil dip before. Our waitress was very sweet and funny. Three tai teas, two pad thais, papaya salad, and a spicy beef salad - came out to be $92.

Decor is beautiful; definitely a few notches above your average neighborhood Sushi/Thai joint (and so are the prices!). Started with 2 orders of steamed Gyoza for the 4 of us to share. I would rate them as pretty average as the noodle was a little hard. Maybe it would have been better fried. Unlike most Asian places, rolls are served with a slightly spicy chili paste infused oil - nice touch. Props to our patient and outstanding server, Joey, who discussed our choices in detail. He even brought my husband a sample of a sauce he was not sure of (declined). I ordered Kanisu, from my usual repertoire, and after consultation with our server, "Mike's Roll": Tuna, spinach, asparagus, avocado, cucumber, kampyo, tempura flakes, & sweet black sticky rice topped with chili sauce. Our server warned me it was "different" and it was: sweet, spicy, interesting texture.....really unique and delicious. The Kanisu was a great accompaniment to this complex roll, cool, light, & refreshing. Since Husband did not like the original sauce offered on the Chilean Sea Bass, Joey brought his Sea Bass plainly seared with 2 sauces on the side: a Teriyaki and a Sweet Soy. Husband liked his dish with both sauces. The portion size of the fish, however, was a little small. The Next Great Future Generation Yelper (9 year old) got Shrimp & Chicken Pad Thai. Great Pad Thai-not too sweet & a huge portion. Even my little guy with the big appetite took much of it home. 10 year old got Chicken Teriyaki. This was a weak link: a little bland & pretty dry. To end our meal our server brought us free desserts a nice little ice cream sundae & another one with fried banana! Not sure why....was he in the Christmas spirit or did he want a good review? Coco did earn it's 4 stars without the free dessert!

I love this place. I go here for Thai food, I haven't had their sushi. The ambiance is nice and trendy inside and out. Service is very attentive, I have never had an issue and I have gone here several times. The last time being New Year's Eve. Their food is always fresh, pretty and taste amazing. The samosas are yummy and nicely spiced. Their mee krob is the best I've had with whole big shrimp and chicken. YUM Chicken lettuce wraps are savory and refreshing Their softshell crab is my favorite. Their pad thai is awesome completely savory and decadent. Their basil sauce and red curry sauce are my two favorites, that I can't seem to order anything else when I'm here. And no Thai meal is complete without Thai Ice Tea and this place makes them perfectly and a nice bottle of saki, I've yet to be disappointed with the selection here. Yes it's pricey for thai food compared to New York, but when you crave good Thai food as a New Yorker, you will not mind so much after this place satisfies your palate.

My friend and I stopped in for some Thai-sushi. I ordered Thai. It was very good (a little salty). They charge $3.00 to substitute brown rice, which rubbed me the wrong way. Charge for a substitute, ok - but this was excessive. Restaurant ambiance was charming. It was a quiet & relaxing night out.

Another Fort Lauderdale restaurant where the food is very good but the service is terrible. Coco is situated in a newish mall near the convention center and the port. The setting is modern and upscale. There is outdoor seating in front. There are a number of interesting cocktails but they tend to the sweet side. Even the saketini had simple syrup added. Too sweet! Cocktails at these type of establishments need to have balanced flavors. The food is pricey but tasty and well presented on large plates. The size of the plates were a real issue when the server brought everything out at about the same time and attempted to cram it on to our table. Many of the items were from the sushi bar and did not need to be served right away. This brings me to the server, who had a trainee in tow observing him. He seemed to be clueless on how a professional waiter works in an expensive upscale restaurant. My expectation is that our basic needs are taken care of without needing to ask. That correct place settings are given with each course. That courses are served in order and not brought out at once. That he have some basic knowledge of the food he is serving (at least more than me). At $30-$40/main course the expectations for service are higher.

This Asian / sushi restaurant is very stylish on the inside. Nice tables, well decorated & each table is well lit. It would be a nice place for a date night. Our waiter, Joey, was excellent. Never let any of our drinks hit empty. He was helpful with recommendations about the menu. As for the food, everyone enjoyed their respected dishes including Sea Bass, Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Teriyaki, Kanisu & Mike's Roll. My sea bass was cooked perfectly but it was a very small portion for $35. The sushi roll looked amazing (my wife loved them). I would come back for sure but I wouldn't get the sea bass next time because it wasn't enough for me. **** the owner was nice enough to give us desert. :-). Thank you!

Being a huge fan of panang curry I have tried most of the Thai restaurants in the area and hands down, this place has the best! The sauce is extremely flavorful and has the perfect consistency. Even during the work crowd when you would think service would be more about quantity than quality coco Asian bistro stands steadily at five stars!

Love their signature roll, "mike's roll". The black rice has a delicious coconut infused flavor. I substitute mango instead of avocado and add kimchee sauce for dipping. It's delicious. Their white tuna hand roll is also amazing. Deliciously smooth with a buttery taste. Great BOGO happy hour with great sushi specials.

Ate lunch here recently with a group of 6. First of all, I hate that they have big TVs running above the bar and above the sushi bar. It's not a sports bar. Just play some music. I find them to be an annoying distraction. The thai iced tea that I ordered was much to milky for my liking. I had the green curry. They did a good job of spicing it to my liking, but the number one ingredient seems to be egg plant. There might have been 3 small pieces of chicken in the whole dish. Service is unbelievably slow. Not exaggerating when I say that it took nearly 40 minutes from the time we ordered food until it was brought to the table. The restaurant was maybe 40% full at Noon on a Wednesday. Unlikely to return. It's not good enough to wait that long for food.

Decent food, good service that is also a little bit pushy. I always feel a little skeptical of places that 'specialize' in 2 different Asian cuisines but this was a decent place to go to. I went when it wasn't too crowded and sat at the sushi bar. The waitress was very attentive and gave recommendations, but I also personally thought she was a little pushy. She would continuously say that this and that appetizer is "really really good" and it kind of felt like she wanted me to order one. I did end up ordering the octopus ceviche, as well as a Dynamite Roll (it shows up as Volcano roll on the online menu, I believe). Before I received what I ordered, she delivered some bread and chili paste in olive oil. It was good and sweet, although considering the cuisines I thought it was a little out of place? Either way I enjoyed it. I also got a little sushi freebie from the sushi chefs- I'm not sure if everybody does, but the couple who sat near me at the sushi bar also received them. Spicy and really good. I wasn't too impressed with the Octopus ceviche. It definitely gave me a fresh taste but I didn't feel like anything had been done to the octopus itself. I'm not an expert and I don't know if octopus is really hard to marinade or not, but I didn't think it deserved being called a 'ceviche'. Also really, really gingery, for those of you who don't like ginger. Their sushi rolls are definitely more expensive than any Japanese/sushi restaurant that I've ever been to. There were some really interesting rolls that were going for $19+ dollars. I'm not ashamed to say that price dictated my choice in this particular outing. The Dynamite roll was decent but I hadn't expected it to have baked seafood on top-it would be great to have that description on the menu. I'd say 3/5 although my rating wants to go up to 3.5 just for the freebies.

I had met the owner of Coco's a few years back and really wanted to give it a go from that experience, and that I did recently... Certain places can get away with being an asian 'fusion' restaurant, and still keep me a raving fan. I would suspect that this will become one of those establishments after a few more visits. We ordered a variety of tasty dishes mostly from the Thai persuasion, and they were all outstanding. I wish that we had made it for lunch the hour before as the prices were far more reasonable but you get a lot of food for the prices you pay, and the quality is worth every penny. Their red curry was so flavorful and rich, I've thought about it since visiting, and long for my return. For the spicy fiends out there, beware. They will caution on the less spicy side. Sometimes this gets on my nerves especially when I emphasize my desire to receive it "Thai Hot" but I can't blame most establishments for resisting to take the dish to the place that i'd truly prefer. Panya Thai in Miami has no qualms about it, but Coco's was a little skiddish about it. Not a problem, a few sprinkles of chili flakes later, and we got it to where it needed to be. We will be back [said in the Arnold voice from Terminator], and would highly recommend this place if only for the Thai food alone.

I was skeptical when a friend we were going to grab sushi on New Year's Eve without a reservation, but Coco's handled it beautifully! We walked in and were warmly greeted. This place was hopping on this celebratory eve so we didn't hold out much hope for anything than a couple of seats at the bar. But they came through with a cute table for two and soon, our terrific server, Joey, was at our side suggesting what to order and making sure our sake was never empty. The decor is pretty nice for a sushi joint, and on this night they had live entertainment which was great! Not sure if that is a standard or not but the singer was terrific. We ordered a range of rolls and sashimi and the presentation was lovely. And it was nice to see that spicy means spicy here as several of the rolls had my lips burning! The prices are reasonable, and the service was spot on. And even though they could've made us feel like they had to turn the table for someone with a reservation- they did not. All in all a very nice way to ring in the new year!

The food here was very good with a nice show (singer) on the side. The appetizer was great and the main dishes were all really good. Place is clean and parking was plentiful. I had the pad thai and it was plentiful and DELICIOUS!! I ll be back here!

I like this restaurant for my occasional lunch outing. Good lunch specials but a bit pricey, but it's Japanese so it's expected. They also have Thai food, so there is plenty to choose from. Enjoy this great Asian restaurant, I recommend it.

Not customer's friendly at all. Made a reservation on their website yesterday pm. Received an email saying they'll confirm as soon as possible. As it's now Saturday and a party of 9, I tried to call today, and their box is full. Wondering if they're still in operation. And now, I'm very late to make reservation elsewhere.

My favorite place to visit. The food is fabulous, the staff is friendly, a beautiful ambiance, great Happy Hour. I could go on an on .... The bottom line I would recommend CoCo's for lunch, Happy Hour or Dinner. And if you just want to have some edamame and a cocktail the bartenders are awesome! And the bar crowd a very fun. Almost forgot the nightly entertainment is fantastic! And the patio is beautiful

Had the snapper, it was quite good. Also had the cucumber salad and some other appetizers. Tried the mango unsweet iced tea. Everything was pretty good. Alright spot for fusion asian cuisine!

Yelp says they're closed for lunch. They were open at 11:30 the Friday I was there. I was in the area and stopped in on a whim. Nice space, great service. I judge a sushi restaurant by its sashimi. I didn't get a chance to do that here, because the sashimi platter is $39! That's a Nobu price. This is not Nobu. An excellent sashimi platter at TeeJay is $20. I had the Pad Se Ew which was delicious for $9. Tom Yum Gai was included and delicious as well. I'd try it again but won't make a specific trip here.

Such great sushi! Sat outside on a Wednesday night. There was two of us and we got there round 6:30 and sat right away. By 7:00 the place was packed (they do take reservations). Had spring rolls, soup, salad and a few hand rolls. Service was just a little slow but it was still great service either way. Oh, and the banana and coconut ice cream dessert....major YUM!!! It's a bit more picky than other sushi/asian restaurants but the food was well worth it. I don't make it to this side of town to often but if you are in that area it's a great place to stop in.

I like the Thai food here, I think they have one of the best Pad Thai's in the area. The reason I am giving it a poor rating is that they have awful quality control! I found a piece of metal (I think from a can or something) in my food, in the same week my mother in law took a friend and she found some bug in her soup. Finding one thing in your food is bad, but twice in one week.... that is just gross. Also, I got the sex and city roll. Sushi prepared poorly, fish is not sliced properly, roll is limp and the ratio of ingredients is armature, these sushi chefs must have no real training. Anyway, I could not find any eel in my roll... after two staff members could not find any eel, they owner/chef told them to open up the roll and we found slivers of eel. I did not finished the roll dissected by the waitress, nor did they take any amount off the bill. The salmon and tuna was quite fishy. Even though I enjoy the Thai food here, I will not be going back as I don't like bugs/metal in my food. Nor do I want anyone looking for missing ingredients by dissecting my limp poor quality sushi roll.

What a great place. What attention to detail. Everything was delicious. The staff was just even better. Everyone seems to care. We will be back. Great place to come eat. Love the live piano music and singing. This place is at the top of our list to come back to.

Extraordinary Thai food cooked with a fine hand and a master chef's touch. We weren't expecting much from this place so we were very pleasantly surprised. The food is marvelous - we both felt like we were having parties in our mouths the food was that good. Service was very nice, Jennifer, our waitress, is a charmer as were the others we encountered there.. We know where to eat when we return to Fort Lauderdale in April.

This is literally the best sushi I've ever had in my life (and sushi is my favorite food). You can't go wrong with anything you order. I has the Volcano Roll and the Orange Dragon Roll- both AMAZING. Mad props for the Volcano Roll especially because seasoning the topping can be really hit or miss. My friend ordered the Lobster Roll, which was also to die for. A little too much tempora for me, but that's a personal preference. Also their drinks are fantastic. The lychee martini, in particular, is perfection. Service was great. I've been here three times and two of them have been absolutely flawless staff-wise. The other time we're just chocking up to a bad day. Overall: Worth the money. Absolute crack.

I came here on a Sunday for lunch and We were sat immediately. There's indoor and outdoor seating w/ a cute little fire wall thingy. We ordered the Jb roll, dragon roll, seaweed salad, octopus ceviche and Thai donuts. EVERYTHING was yummy including the octopus surprisingly. Our server was busy but attentive and humorous which is a big plus for me. Overall I was pleasantly pleased. I will definitely visit again when in the area.

My wife and I were discussing the option to go or not to Coco Asian Bistro. We are happy to decided to go for dinner. The service and the ambiance is simply phenomenal! We asked for a sushi boat for two. The combination of fresh sushi and sashimi is outstanding. Also, the green tea ice cream is a great complement as dessert. If you are willing to pay premium price for quality food this is the place to go! PS: The live music is great!!!

Great thai food and sushi. A bit higher end than other sushi/thai restaurants in the area but worth it.

The ambiance on the outdoor seating is pleasant but indoors a little to dark for my taste. They do get an A for service. I enjoyed the gluten free red curry with beef, it was above average. I loved the green tea served in a teapot with endless hot water refills. The wine service was excellent if not a bit overpriced. Overall, coco's is a relaxing place to hang out on a cool evening.
