Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

There is no shortage of good pizza restaurants on Amelia Island: Pi, Arte Pizza, Townie's, Ops and more. How can you tell which one is best? If it's hard to find, only accepts cash, and has a line out the door that might be a hint. Come or order early, as by the busiest part of the night the wait can be two hours or more. If you request it, they will provide pizza dough for the kids to play with. Moon river is great if you are vegetarian or vegan, as they have options for both. If you avoid gluten by choice, a gluten-free crust is available. While all the pizza restaurants are good choices, you need to try Moon River.

I don't think you could ask for a more finicky group then my family; however, this pizza really impressed us. The staff was so friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in the door to waddling out almost an hour later. I am sure my husband is the world's biggest critic for pizza sauce and he is now a fan, unfortunately we in live in Texas. I absolutely recommend this restaurant, salad, and pizza. Next time we come back I will return. We had a garden salad, The Special pizza, and a pepperoni. All were great and we hard time not stuffing ourselves.

If you like pizza and calzones then this is the place for you. Great food not greasy at all like some other places. Cheese and sauce were in perfect amounts. I've tried most local pizza joints and this is my favorite beats townies, ops, and tonys. Like I said it's not greasy compared to others or too much breading just perfect in between. We dined in and enjoyed the experience just good food and cool people.

I popped in here for a quick slice of white and an iced tea. The pizza was hot; obviously reheated - but very acceptable for a slice. The iced tea was fresh and very good. I put in some of the Sweet and Low which was fine -- next time I will brind some Splenda. Since then we ordered a large pie to go -- half pepperoni (him) and half anchovies (me). We both agreed that the crust was excellent. He said that when he went to get the pie it was really full and noisy -- Looks like this will be a regular stop.

It's been quite a while... We really enjoyed our half and half pizza tonight. Husband loves meat and I love veggies. Loaded with veggies on my half!! And a good amount of meat on his half.

After waiting 40 minutes for a pizza the self righteous gal says that we should have ASKED how long it was going to take, because priority is clearly given to call in orders. Note, just get slices. Now you know

Absolutely best pizza I have ever had!!! No joke, I am from Atlanta Georgia and had dinner with my family here on vacation. We all agreed it was the best pizza ever. Don't be distracted by the strip mall and hipster vibe, these guys know what's up with pizza.

Pizza was awesome. The atmosphere/good is the same as their Murray Hill counterpart. My kids got a slice each, they will "kid cut" them for you to save you some time at the table. I had a half house salad and it was awesome. My wife had a half Gorgonzola salad and she enjoyed it. Only negative to my experience was that there wasn't a baby changing station in the restrooms and the buckle of the high chair was broken, pretty much my biggest pet peeve ever. Otherwise - 5 stars.

I have been coming to Moon River for years and years and they have maintained a high quality pizza and service throughout. Their pies have a thick crust that is always cooked to golden perfection. This crust begs to be eaten along with a cold beer or a glass of wine. The red sauce has a good mix of herbs and a rich tomato taste and it is topped with wonderful mozzarella. If you don't like red sauce they also have a scrumptious white pizza. The choice of toppings is diverse and fresh. Out favorite pizza is a 'white with Gorgonzola cheese' -- just ask for the Gorgonzola in place of the feta that is typically served on the white -- it is delicious! They have a good variety of beer, wine and soda - and the tea is fresh brewed and self serve. Staff is always attentive even when the place is slammed. Get to know them and they are happy to honor special requests. Because they are so good they are usually crowded, if you don't want to wait, just call in your order. And always remember to bring cash as they don't take credit cards!

I'd rate this place in the negative if I could. We found Moon River Pizza online while visiting Amelia Island. We ordered a medium pizza, a calzone and two drinks, at $31.25. A little pricy. The interior was dirty, the decor left a lot to be desired. Everything is outdated. Halfway through our meal, we found a hair in one of our drinks. We looked down and found other hairs baked into the pizza. Same color, same length, and red- just like the beard of one employee on duty. We informed the manager, who offered two options: remake the pizza or refund the money. At this point we're sick and just want to leave with a refund. She refunds the price of ONE DRINK AND ONE FOOD ITEM. Seriously..... We found MULTIPLE HAIRS in our meal and drink. I think a full refund is in order. Not so much. I've never felt so sick in a restaurant. Unacceptable and inexcusable. Cover facial hair in food prep areas! Restaurant 101! I'd stay far away from this place until they at least clean the area and prep the food according to health code.

The atmosphere wasn't what we expected. It is located in a strip mall next to a convenience store. The pizza was good. The crust was excellent. The sauce was lacking. Overall, we enjoyed it.

Great place! Yummy food, super friendly staff. We went there for dinner with our kids and it worked out great. They cut our kids pizza in to tiny pieces for us which was super nice and made it easier on us to enjoy our meal without hassle.

Out-of-towners move along! While the pizza is decent (we come from Chicago) the attitude of their employees is far from it. Stopped in for lunch yesterday and it took nearly 1 hour for 3 slices and 2 salads. Not that they couldn't have gotten our order out sooner but they chose not too. Since we are clearly from out of town they placed our order on the back burner. Groups 4-5 behind us not only received their food but sat and ate before our order arrived. While the girl taking our order was friendly the "gentleman" in the Cubs hat was far from it. He not only was snappy but also rolled his eyes when my wife inquired about our order after waiting 45 minutes. After being homeowners on the island for 25 years I feel we are being asked to take our business elsewhere.
