The Dames Point Bridge in Jacksonville is one of the most spectacular I have ever seen. Having lived here only 6 months I have had only about a dozen crossing -- all of them dramatic-- This morning seemed special --the sun was reflected from the white bridge. I was in the passenger seat and able to take the sight in. Some bridges you feel contained in wa you cross rgwm -- this morning I soared. The white structure above me.

This is our new favorite restaurant on Amelia Island. We have been at least four times and have never been disappointed. The salads are wonderful and the entrees fresh and inventive. The cioppino, the salmon, the grouper are are all wonderful. Great service and nice wine list. Awesome.

First time in Amelia Island and we were craving some good seafood. Did some searching and found the great ratings for Cucina South, and it was even better than expected. We sat at one of their tables on the deck and it was such a wonderful, private experience, although the atmosphere inside looked homey and inviting as well. Our server, Sarah, offered to let us taste the wines we were deciding between, continued to give excellent recommendations throughout the night and kept us laughing and comfortable. We had the seafood pasta special and the osso buco and they were both to. die. for. Everything we had was truly wonderful, couldn't have asked for a better dinner.

Cucina South has the potential to be a very good restaurant. The steak appetizer and the cucumber and avocado chopped salad we absolutely delicious. The pasta with artichokes and tomato in a white wine broth was laking in taste and needed some basil, garlic, and other Italian seasonings that would have greatly elevated the flavor. I ordered a side of polenta that had no sauce or anything to break up the starchy flavor. Lastly, the bruschetta was way too salty and the thin slices if bread that I thought would be crispy, were rubbery. This bring said, it is early in the game. The freshness of the food and some experimenting with flavor will come with time. I will definitely give it another try.

This is simply the best Italian restauraunt I have been to in eons. The ambience and asthetics are perfect. Noise moderate even when full. Wine list was fairly priced and included some fabulous options. Our server, Allesandra, was so very pleasant and knowledgable about the wines and menu items. She gave us a sample of 2 wines so we could make the right choice to go with our food. She also gave us a sample of their soup du jour, artichoke and Brie soup. Not as rich as it sounds. Simply fabulous. We also enjoyed a complementary olive tapenade. Loved it! We split the chopped antipasto salad which was devine. We also ordered the short rib with mushroom ravioli as well as the is osso bucco with creamy polenta. Both dishes were outstanding. It was a memorable meal. We certainly will return as often as possible. Allesandra made our dining experience quit memorable.

Excellent addition to the island dining scene. Laid back elegance without stuffiness. The owners performed a nice renovation of this former restaurant in Palmetto Walk Shopping Village. Italian standards, fresh seafood, brick oven pizzas. Nice wine list. We had the chioppino and halibut citrone. Both were prepared and presented perfectly. Both were exceptional dishes. Service was friendly & efficient without being intrusive. We had a wonderful dining experience and will return.

Very nice dinner, convivial atmosphere and perfect service by Logan. I enjoyed the ciopino, fish, shrimp, clams and mussels in a subtly spicy broth. My companions raved about their sausage and wild mushroom pizza. We all enjoyed a fine Barbera from an interesting wine list. Management and ownership showed plenty of consideration for their patrons. I look forward to returning and trying another selection from their very interesting menu.

One of the best meals we have had in Fernandina Beach. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu. Service was good as well.

Fun, attractive, not too noisy upstairs. Lovely waitstaff. Interesting wine list. Interesting menu. Salads are fantastic. That's the good part. The bad part is that some of the entrees were under seasoned and overcooked. Perhaps they sat under a heat lamp for a while because our dinner with no desserts and no cocktails took two and a half hours. We will come back again and see if they improve.

Wonderful dining and great service. Sandra our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend the halibut it was a flavorful well balanced dish. The salmon special was a sassy spicy dish cooked to perfection. I have never liked eggplant but they have an eggplant appetizer that knocked my socks off. Lovely desserts...save room. Fresh food, nice variety on the menu and reasonable prices. We can't wait to return. It's quite a gem

We had dinner here the other night, while in town for business. Called at the last minute and had one of the best meals ever. My husband had angel hair pasta to die for he ate the whole bowl and was smacking his lips, he barely came up for air. I had the spaghetti with Angus meatballs and it was so delicious, the pasta remained hot through out the whole meal. The salad choices were light and appetizing. The wine choices are were excellent. The place was packed with regulars and we can see why. Service was excellent, Sandra was professional and so knowledgeable about the menu and which wines to pair with what. The owner or manager was so friendly and attentive. I have to say we felt like we were in New York or Chicago. Cute ambiance in a house setting. Excellent all around would highly recommend and return in a heart beat.

Stopped in for a pizza to try this relatively new spot on the Island. I thought I'd order a glass of Chianti while waiting for table at bar but alas, no chianti! Weird for Italian themed restaurant. Waitress suggested split of a amarone (which turned out to be a good but bit pricey option), but that's what I get for not asking $. Pizzas were ordered and were good (had the sausage mushroom combo, and it was delivered in a timely fashion. I will definitely give it another shot to try some of the more serious entree items in future visits.

Had dinner with some co-workers. It was great. Server a little on the awkward side but overall not bad service. Seared salmon was my choice and it was absolutely delicious!

The door opens and the aroma envelops me. It's summer and we are a party of five with no reservations. We are warmly received and take a seat at the bar. Very friendly and I feel like I am in someone's home. The table is upstairs. It must be someone's home. Reminds me of what Cape Cod was like, but years ago. Everyone is nice. The mussels are one of the starters. Fantastic raves one of our guests. Rolled eggplant and cheese is great too. Two home runs. We are digging into the main courses. Wows are echoing around the table. Francis Albert is singing in the background, and well he should looking at all the smiles. Scallops, sausage, artichokes and pasta with a blue cheese cream sauce, the special of the night, really works, even if it sounds a little strange. But the place gives you a feeling you can trust the chef. The owner checks in and he really cares. Desert does not disappoint. Chocolate mousse is great. Not too sweat but very, very good. Oh no, the check is here. Wow, given the quality of the food, the service and the ambiance, it is really very fair. This place is a real keeper.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
