We live on the island and go out for coffee 3 or 4 times a week. We thought we'd try the the shop downtown for a change. They weren't very busy on a Sunday morning. The girl at the counter was talking to a customer at the counter when we arrived. Four minutes later, they were still chitchatting, and the girl showed no sign of waiting on us. We'll never know how the coffee/food is, I guess. Back to Great Harvest Bread Co for us...

Weird smell inside. Neither my husband nor I enjoyed our drinks (Mocha latte & Vanilla latte). Service wasn't great either. Atmosphere was okay. I liked the lending library & local art.

The ultimate mocha is better than a starbucks frapp. The place smells delicious and serves all kinds of goodness. There are tables and couches and little tables outside right next to a park like area with benches. It's reallllllly cool.
(5)Matt W.
Good coffee price. Nice atmosphere. Didn't have many outlets for me to plug my laptop in though.

It was ok. My muffin was a bit stale. Great atmosphere and location.

Thoroughly enjoyed this coffee shop- fresh lunch, excellent coffee drink (my new fav) the frozen mocha, great service. The shop was clean and had nice seating by the window. I also had the jasmine/green tea which was also eye opening. Super sweet staff were very helpful cleaning up after my 2 yr old- and husband :). Excellent location, will be back.

Cute location, nice staff, light bites, and coffee. Love it. The BLT and breakfast sandwiches are what I had with my Americano. Good food and quick in a comfortable seating area. I will be back recommend Amelia's coffee to all visitors.

After pushing adrenaline through my veins with the guys at Skydive Amelia Island ( yelp.com/biz/skydive-ame… ), we decided to add some caffeine to the mix while we waited for them to edit my video. We found our way to downtown Fernandina & were able to reminisce about the few days we spent in Amelia Island as we strolled up to Amelia Island Coffee & Ice Cream. I ordered a Frozen Chai & my husband just had a medium coffee. We shared a cinnamon bun. They served the cinnamon bun warm and it was soo gooey & soft. Absolutely perfect ending to our Sunday morning adventure.

Went to this local coffee place around 7AM on a Saturday and was the only customer. The wait staff was accommodating but not overly friendly. I got a coffee and a pumpkin muffin. The coffee was good and they microwaved the muffin to warm it up. Tasted good and was soft. The ambiance on he interior is nice, a little all over the place with some hardwood, some more cheesy decor. The reason for the two stars was the state of the men's restroom. I know Fernandina Beach is an older area, but the toilet was from what looked like the 40s. There were no paper towels and there was actually a dead bug on TOP of the drain hole in the center of the floor. Disgusting. Makes you wonder about the rest of the cleanliness here. Overall, nothing to write home about, but the disaster that is the restroom really knocks this place down.

I really like the laid back, yet cozy ambience of this place. We had just finished a camping trip and I was pining for a sit-down-in-a-nice air-conditioned-place meal. My son wanted some fruits, so he got a side of fruits to go with his egg and sausage biscuit. I had been craving something sweet, so I jumped at the chance for a waffle topped with pecans and bananas. The waffle was crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. Lightly sweet. As a parting snack, I got chocolate covered coffee beans.

Here is a tip for you: Heating up Chocolate Milk does not make it hot chocolate, it makes it warm Chocolate Milk. Figure that out and the rest will come naturally. Given the lack of other options in the area, I am sure this place will pull through.

Finally went into Amelia Island Coffee on my third trip to the island. The staff was super friendly and the espresso very good. The weather was a little rainy and a bit cold so we figured we would take a break from shopping downtown to get a little snack and a beverage. I had espresso and gelato (since i appear to like snacks that end in O). Great stuff. The service was quick, the wifi was free, and the gelato was awesome. My boys enjoyed the hot chocolate and cookies and it provided a nice little break from the chilly day.

Was really looking forward to relaxing in the sun with my coffee and cinnamon scone, which was what happened, but the scone was rock hard and tasted more like a Lorna doone(weird I know). The coffee was fine, but I found it funny that they brew Seattle coffee. I could have bought that at the store and brewed it myself. I believe a local coffee shop needs to be LOCAL.

Well made breakfast sandwiches from good ingredients and all the essentials needed to keep tea, coffee, and hot chocolate lovers happy. Beverages aren't extraordinary, but I like to support small business.

Amazing atmosphere, good location on Main Street in town. Great customer service, great memory of our order three days in a row. Will be stopping by next trip! Cakes and pies were fresh and out of this world!

Enjoy some good coffee while in Fernadina! I thought the coffee and atmosphere was fun here. They made an extra effort to acknowledge the ongoing construction and apologize for the look of things. I recommend they get Stevia, that would have made it a 5.
(4)Patrick M.
Stopped by for a bite while walking around the downtown. Mostly because they were the only thing open. Great place. Friendly staff, good coffee and a selection of bagels and pastries. Definitely a place to visit and I will do so again.
(4)Mateo M.
Lousy coffee. It's watered down, weak, and it was Luke warm. I'd never have known that it was dark roast. The WiFi is great, though!

We visited this shop three times during our trip! The staff here are very sweet and friendly and make conversation with you. I had a hazelnut iced coffee all three times (best one I've ever had, probably) and my sister got something similar to a caramel frappucino and said it was better than Starbucks! There are plenty of spots for seating. They also have a huge selection of sweets (and sandwiches, but I only came for a snack). I tried their cinnamon bun which was excellent and I also tried a dark chocolate with white chocolate chips. Yum! Also, check out the area where you can add half and half (etc). They have a basket that has day old pastries that are half off (and equally delicious, by the way). A cinnamon roll for a dollar? Heck yes! Next time we come to Amelia, we will definitely be stopping by here again.

Great location, but terrible organization during peak hours. We came in for a late breakfast and found the ladies behind the counter overwhelmed and lacking any friendly behavior. Patrons were confused as to who's order was being presented as the ladies serving the food would just call out loud the description of the order, rather than a number or name. This created a confusing and apprehensive atmosphere, not ideal for getting your day started. The food was simple and had potential, but was very bland and unassuming. The coffee was decent and the tea remained scalding d for at least thirty minutes....I had to request a cup of ice just to have a few sips. Again, great location and cool set up, but the customer service, boring food, and overall chaos wasn't worth the visit.

Nice atmosphere and my sandwich was exceptional (Mediterranean veggie wrap). My husband had the Asparagus Milanese special, which he liked. He said his Latte was great. Friendly staff, too. We stayed on the island for about a week and this was the only place we found that had universally good food. From the inexpensive restaurants to the elegant restaurants, we were very disappointed in the island's food EXCEPT for Amelia Island Coffee. I recommend going there for lunch.
(4)Mell K.
Friendly staff and ready to make you a personalized drink with no complaint. The cafe frio aka frap was too runny. Needed more ice blended. Overall was good though!
(4)Erin R.
The coffee was the best part of the breakfast. Originally, I wanted one of the bagel dishes they served. They were out. I opted for the egg sandwich, choosing to have it with sausage. I did notice that the baristas weren't too friendly... or they seemed preoccupied with the other orders. When the sandwich was brought out to me, it was lukewarm, the cheddar cheese atop the sausage barely melted. The pineapple they provided as a side was a bit hard. I'd read great reviews about this place, and wanting to support a small coffee shop, I was excited about the meal. Granted, it was the first try, but I think this place deserves another go. The atmosphere (and the taste of the Seattle's Best Coffee) made up for the meal not being up to par. There is seating both inside and out; dark wood interior, with table and hightop chairs... oh, and the appetizing pastry case with gelato and cake also helps. Give them a try.

If you enjoy coffee that was roasted three years ago, frozen, and then run through an espresso machine and served as a 'cappuccino' then this is your place. Too bad there aren't any decent places to get coffee in town.
(2)Caroline H.
I like this place. The coffee is good (certainly better than Starbucks) and the people are nice. Simple (in the best way) and very good local coffee shop.
