We first discovered this amazing place a few weeks ago on the way home from Leesburg Bikefest. As soon as we told our waiter, Bobby, it was our first time he immediately said, Let me tell you a few things about us and what we're famous for." He told us about their specials and said they are known for their ribs. The special we chose was 1/2 slab baby back ribs, our choice of another meat (pork, turkey, beef, chicken or sausage) and two sides for $13.49. In less than 10 minutes the food was out. It was fresh, hot and delicious. The customer service was the best I have had in I can't remember when. Now we're back after riding across the state this weekend we stopped in for lunch. Exactly the same service. We tried something different this time and got pork plate lunch specials. Rarely do I eat barbecue without sauce but the flavor of the meat was that good. Our waiter this time was Christopher and was just as professional, polite, attentive and quick as Bobby was. If you are in the area you won't be disappointed if you eat here. This is the best overall service and food I have had.

Very nice place, clean, good atmosphere and user friendly. The fried pickles are great as are the grill choices. I tried a regular ole hamburger on this visit and it was great. Juicy, savory and perfectly cooked, as I ordered. A rarity in and of it's own. Check em out, there are several locations, we've tried a few, all have the same quality. Enjoy!

Came here for lunch with a group of 7 people. They have paper rolls at each table to wipe your hands, unfortunately the one at our table was almost empty and we had to take a few from the other table. The food portion was ok, though I wasn't too hungry I shared a rib & pork combo which was about $17 and was satisfied. I initially wanted Beef for the meat, but they were out... Not sure how they can run out of something so early in the day (1pm). When we were ready to leave, our waiter walked by us about 3 times while we tried to get her attention to ask for the bill and a togo box. Eh on the Food, and not happy with service. Probably wont ever come back to this place.

Food was OK... If you read my stuff you will see I love good BBq. The staff was not as attentive as I prefer. I did get a good bowl of collards.

In the class of Chilis, Outback, Applebee's, perhaps even just below. Not good ribs, and definitely not BBQ, but better than a bun-less McRib I guess. Sure, service is great and portions are large, but this is fast food at best people. The best thing this place has going for it is that it is in the middle of nowhere, with clientele that just doesn't know any better. No one associated with this business has even been in the same room as meat from Texas, Memphis, or KC. The sides are only marginally better than the meat.

Another case where I wish I had 3 1/2 stars. Interesting decor (lots of pictures/animals from someone's hunting and fishing passion), clean and nice place. We ordered ribs (special...$12.99 for a "full slab", 2 sides). Ribs were very tender, truly "fall off the bone" good. 4 stars. Could have been better sauce, but still very good. Sides (mac and cheese, cole slaw) 2 stars Mac, 3 stars cole slaw, 3 stars piece of garlic bread. 3 stars rings. What made this a four star, nearly 5 star for me was our server, Jessica. What a friendly, nice, helpful, enthusiastic and wonderful person. She made the whole thing terrific. I'll be back (don't live all that close) but Jessica should get a pat on the back to earn this place the fourth star.

Excellent! Seated quickly and ordered shortly thereafter. Entrees arrived fast too. The place was pretty busy but there was an abundance of waitresses and all tables seemed to be getting plenty of attention. My husband had the half rack of baby back ribs with coleslaw and macaroni & cheese. I had the chicken dinner (two smoked bone-in breasts w wings) plus coleslaw and baked beans. We loved all of our food except I would pass on the macaroni & cheese. Cheese sauce was velvetta-like. Not my style. We had all this plus two soft drinks for only $28.15 after taxes. We're visiting from Illinois but have the opportunity to come to the area annually. Oakwood will be on our list for future visits.

We love this place! The BBQ is delicious (a million times better than Sonny's) and the sides have not disappointed! I always get the Collard greens and they are AMAZING! We have never had bad service and we have dined her a bunch since we moved to Eustis in March! I HIGHLY recommend it!!

The best BBQ in Lake! If you're in Eustis, drive past Sonnys to David Walker, take a right, then you'll see Oakwood on your right. I've never experienced bad service at this restaurant and I would speak up if I didn't like where I was seated... but that's just me.

A wonderful place to dine. Appears to be a traditional smokehouse, which it is, but it is broader offering full southern fare. The menu is simple yet complete. I had the mahi mahi (blacked), lima beans and green beans. All surprisingly excellent. The waitress was very nice and personable. Not overly fancy, down right homey. There are four of these in Lake Country. I hope it stays that way. The photos of local fishing successes and some stuffed fish and deer adore the walls. I don't give many 5 stars, but this is a place that is perfect for me.

I don't usually give five stars, but this place was great. I live in California visiting Florida, I don't like regular/ big box restaurants, so I always look for local alternatives. The ribs, perfect. White pulled pork, perfect. Will make it a point to come back, if I'm in the area. Thank you for a real good time.

Actually, the service was quite allright because they serve as a "team" apparently, and the food was hot when brought to the table. Mom's fried catfish was outstanding and HOT. The half-rack of ribs had about 10 ribs on it--exceeded expectations. I had the "beef." I asked if it was brisket, and the waitress said it was nice and moist covered with aus jus and I ordered it. The manager came by and asked if all was OK and I indicated while the menu was not specific, it did not seem to be brisket. He said, yes the wait staff is often "confused" and it was eye of the round roast. It was still pretty good but I was looking for juicy brisket with a crust. I didn't complain or send it back though. I was also surprised that at 6::30 PM they asked if we wanted the Lunch or Dinner menu (lunch portions smaller) and that it was even an option! This is deserving of a return visit, except I will order something other than "beef" next time.

We like good BBQ and this place does it right. The menu variety is good and the prices are reasonable. We both had their chicken BBQ dinner with 2 side dishes for $10.99.. They have a combination dinner which is 2 meat choices with 2 sides also for $10.99.. I like full size pork ribs but they only offer baby backs which were on special for $11.99 for a full rack. Everything was cooked just right and came out hot. The server was coming back regularly to see if we needed anything.

My wife and I really enjoy bringing our family here after church on Sundays. It is always crowded, so if you get there at noon be prepared for a (small) wait. The food is typical BBQ, but they have large portions and often my wife cannot even finish everything. They also have a decent lunch special that gives you a sandwich meal (ie sandwich, side & drink) for like $6, trust me you cant get that size meal that is that good at any fast food place! Staff is great, food often comes out so quick we are hardly ready. I recommend trying this place out over Sonnys if you are in for a change.

My wife and I both had the full rack of ribs plus baked beans and cole slaw. The BBQ flavor is really delicious and we liked the taste better than other BBQ restaurants in the local area. Additionally, the service from the employees was fast and they were all very nice. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. We plan to dine here again and would recommend this place to anyone considering BBQ. It is very good.

Meh. No better then Sonny's. Ordered the pork and turkey. Turkey was nasty. Not smoked , just warmed over lunch meat. Gross. Sweet potato fries were good.

I was sooo full when I left. The ribs were very tasty, but the chicken was only ok. The sweet potato fries and collard greens were ok too! The service was good.

Great sandwiches. Super service. Try the pulled pork. Can't beat their takeout
